Presentation on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in BangladeshTawhid Rahman
Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) plays an important role in the economy of Bangladesh to accelerate GDP, export and domestic investment followed by overall economic growth. Despite global declining trend, in 2016 FDI inflows has increased in Bangladesh, particularly in energy, stockmarket and telecommunication sector.
FDI is a vital issue for Bangladesh to carry out effective measures in protecting the prospective foreign investors so that they can get a congenial atmosphere to invest their capital. Investor should feel that their role in the business arena of Bangladesh is respectfully valued. In this connection, friendly regulations, simplifying regulatory practices, investment incentives and removal of inefficient bureaucratic procedures should be ensured.
In this presentation you can get an overview of Bangladesh market scenario, political, legal, social, cultural, business etiquette, Sino-Bangla relationship, risk and remedy, and few other important authority links.

The objective of this work is to contribute to valorization de Nephelium lappaceum by the characterization of kinetics of drying of seeds of Nephelium lappaceum. The seeds were dehydrated until a constant mass respectively in a drying oven and a microwawe oven. The temperatures and the powers of drying are respectively: 50, 60 and 70°C and 140, 280 and 420 W. The results show that the curves of drying of seeds of Nephelium lappaceum do not present a phase of constant kinetics. The coefficients of diffusion vary between 2.09.10-8 to 2.98. 10-8m-2/s in the interval of 50°C at 70°C and between 4.83×10-07 at 9.04×10-07 m-8/s for the powers going of 140 W with 420 W the relation between Arrhenius and a value of energy of activation of 16.49 kJ. mol-1 expressed the effect of the temperature on effective diffusivity.
"Understanding the Carbon Cycle: Processes, Human Impacts, and Strategies for...MMariSelvam4
The carbon cycle is a critical component of Earth's environmental system, governing the movement and transformation of carbon through various reservoirs, including the atmosphere, oceans, soil, and living organisms. This complex cycle involves several key processes such as photosynthesis, respiration, decomposition, and carbon sequestration, each contributing to the regulation of carbon levels on the planet.
Human activities, particularly fossil fuel combustion and deforestation, have significantly altered the natural carbon cycle, leading to increased atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations and driving climate change. Understanding the intricacies of the carbon cycle is essential for assessing the impacts of these changes and developing effective mitigation strategies.
By studying the carbon cycle, scientists can identify carbon sources and sinks, measure carbon fluxes, and predict future trends. This knowledge is crucial for crafting policies aimed at reducing carbon emissions, enhancing carbon storage, and promoting sustainable practices. The carbon cycle's interplay with climate systems, ecosystems, and human activities underscores its importance in maintaining a stable and healthy planet.
In-depth exploration of the carbon cycle reveals the delicate balance required to sustain life and the urgent need to address anthropogenic influences. Through research, education, and policy, we can work towards restoring equilibrium in the carbon cycle and ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.
Micro RNA genes and their likely influence in rice (Oryza sativa L.) dynamic ...Open Access Research Paper
Micro RNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding RNAs molecules having approximately 18-25 nucleotides, they are present in both plants and animals genomes. MiRNAs have diverse spatial expression patterns and regulate various developmental metabolisms, stress responses and other physiological processes. The dynamic gene expression playing major roles in phenotypic differences in organisms are believed to be controlled by miRNAs. Mutations in regions of regulatory factors, such as miRNA genes or transcription factors (TF) necessitated by dynamic environmental factors or pathogen infections, have tremendous effects on structure and expression of genes. The resultant novel gene products presents potential explanations for constant evolving desirable traits that have long been bred using conventional means, biotechnology or genetic engineering. Rice grain quality, yield, disease tolerance, climate-resilience and palatability properties are not exceptional to miRN Asmutations effects. There are new insights courtesy of high-throughput sequencing and improved proteomic techniques that organisms’ complexity and adaptations are highly contributed by miRNAs containing regulatory networks. This article aims to expound on how rice miRNAs could be driving evolution of traits and highlight the latest miRNA research progress. Moreover, the review accentuates miRNAs grey areas to be addressed and gives recommendations for further studies.

UNDERSTANDING WHAT GREEN WASHING IS!.pdfJulietMogola
Many companies today use green washing to lure the public into thinking they are conserving the environment but in real sense they are doing more harm. There have been such several cases from very big companies here in Kenya and also globally. This ranges from various sectors from manufacturing and goes to consumer products. Educating people on greenwashing will enable people to make better choices based on their analysis and not on what they see on marketing sites.

BANGLADESH STATE
___
INTRODUCTION
Bangladesh officially the People's Republic of Bangladesh is a country in
South Asia. It shares land borders with India and Myanmar (Burma). The
country's maritime territory in the Bay of Bengal is roughly equal to the
size of its land area.
Bangladesh is the world's eighth most populous country. Dhaka is its
capital and largest city, followed by Chittagong, which has the country's
largest port. Bangladesh forms the largest and easternmost part of the
Bengal region.
Bangladeshis include people from a range of ethnic groups and religions.
Bengalis, who speak the official Bengali language, make up 98% of the
population. The politically dominant Bengali Muslims make the nation the
world's third largest Muslim-majority country. Most of Bangladesh is
covered by the Bengal Delta, the largest delta on Earth.
2.

Climate
Bangladesh has a typical monsoon climate characterized by rain-bearing
winds, moderately warm temperatures, and high humidity. In general,
maximum temperatures in the summer months, from April to September,
are in the low to mid-90s F (mid-30s C).
April is the warmest month in most parts. The range of high temperatures
in the winter months, from November to March, is greater than in the
summer months. January is the coolest month, with high temperatures
averaging in the mid- to upper 70s F (mid-20s C).
Religion
Most of the people of Bangladesh follow the religion of Islam, which was
made the official religion by a 1988 constitutional amendment. The arrival
of Muslims in Bengal at the beginning of the 13th century and the rapid
increase in their strength and influence permanently changed the
character and culture of the area.
When the Muslims first arrived, Hinduism was by far the dominant
religion, although there were pockets of Buddhists and a few adherents of
local religions.
Demographic trends
In the 2010s about one-third of Bangladesh’s population was under age 15,
and the birth rate remained well above the world average. Infant mortality

also remained high, although it had dropped dramatically since the late
20th century.
Economy
Bangladesh’s heavy dependence on agriculture has long contributed to
seasonal unemployment among rural farmworkers, as well as to a generally
low standard of living in many areas. To counteract this imbalance, a policy
of industrialization was adopted in the mid-20th century.
During the period of Pakistani administration (1947–71), priority was given
to industries based on indigenous raw materials such as jute, cotton, hides,
and skins.
The reality is that you cannot afford to be ignorant of
some of the highly magnificent places without
visiting them, which are the signature sites of

Bangladesh. Missing those wonderful places would
perhaps be somewhat like visiting Paris without
enjoying the grandeur of Eiffel Tower.
Cox’s Bazar
The seaside town Cox’s Bazar is located in Chittagong Division. Also
known as Panowa, it has the longest (125 kilometers) natural and sandy
sea-beach. ‘Panowa’ literally means ‘yellow flower’.
Cox’s Bazar is the district headquarter. Cox’s Bazar is considered as one of
the most widely visited tourist destinations in Bangladesh. The huge
Buddhist monastery named Aggmeda Khyang is one of the top tourist
attractions here.
Ramu is a village where the Buddhist population resides. Cox’s Bazar is
well known for its homemade cigars and handicrafts.
Also the first safari park of Bangladesh, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari
Park is about 50 kilometers away from Cox’s Bazar Town.

Saint Martin
The only coral island of Bangladesh, Saint Martin’s Island is quite small
and it embraces about 8 square kilometers of the land area. Located close
to Chhera Island, it was first named as Zajira by some unknown Arabian
sailors.
Kuakata
Kuakata is located in the southern part of Bangladesh. The panoramic view
of the sea beach and the beautiful tourist attractions in and round Kuakata
makes it one of the most popular tourist destinations in Bangladesh.

Sundarban
Sundarban is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The major part of it is in
Bangladesh; some part of it also comes under Indian Territory. Densely
covered with forest, it is considered to be one of the largest reserves that
protect Royal Bengal Tiger.
Bandarban
The beautiful mountain ranges escalate the natural beauty of the
surroundings. The largest Buddhist temple of Bangladesh known as Buddha
Dhatu Jadi is situated in Bandarban.

Rangamati
Known as the ‘Lake City’ of Bangladesh, Rangamati is full of matchless
beauty and is one of the most visited tourist destinations of Bangladesh. It
is located about 77 kilometers away from Chittagong.
Chittagong
Chittagong is quite a big town. The largest international seaport in
Bangladesh is situated here. Shah Amanat International Airport connects
Chittagong to various hot destinations of the world through airways. It

Women in Bangladesh
Although, as of 2015, several women occupied major political office in
Bangladesh, its women continue to live under a patriarchal social regime
where violence is common. Whereas in India and Pakistan women
participate less in the workforce as their education increases, the reverse is
the case in Bangladesh.
Festivals
Pohela Boishakh, the Bengali new year, is the major festival of Bengali
culture and sees widespread festivities. Of the major holidays celebrated in
Bangladesh, only Pohela Boishakh comes without any preexisting
expectations (specific religious identity, culture of gift-giving, etc.).
Unlike holidays like Eid al-Fitr, where dressing up in lavish clothes has
become a norm, or Christmas where exchanging gifts has become an
integral part of the holiday, Pohela Boishakh is really about celebrating the
simpler, rural roots of the Bengal.
Sports
Cricket is one of the most popular sports in Bangladesh, followed by
football. The national cricket team participated in their first Cricket World
9.

Cup in 1999, and the following year was granted elite Test cricket status.
They have however struggled, recording only ten test match victories: one
against Australia, one against England, one against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka,
five against Zimbabwe (one in 2005, one in 2013 in Zimbabwe, and three in
2014), two in a 2–0 series victory over the West Indies in the West Indies in
2009. Six of Bangladesh's ten test match victories came in between the
years 2014 to 2017.
