First Solar, Inc.
First Solar, Inc. located in Huntington Beach is a design and manufacturing company found in
1999 who produce photovoltaic modules, or solar panels, through the use of thin film
semiconductors (Reuters, para 2). The company however, has a much earlier history than
scribed. In 1984, inventor and owner of Solar Cells, Inc Harold McMaster manufactured solar
cells from silicon (energyandcapital, para 2). However, as silicon became more expensive,
McMaster decided to switch to cadmium telluride. This material was far more inexpensive than
silicon which would eventually lead the company to thrive. So it thrived, as in 1999 the company
was purchased by True North Partners, LLC and was named First Solar, Inc (energyandcapital,
para 10). First Solar is the first solar company to flourish and create new solar innovations. Such
as, producing 1 GW of solar electricity in a single year, breaking the one dollar per watt
manufacturing overhead cost, and creating a photovoltaic modulerecycling program (FirstSolar,
para 2). To put that into perspective clean technica explains that, 1GW of solar power can power
up to 750,000 homes and about 2 coal fired power plants (Shahan, para 2). To evaluate whether
First Solar is a smart investment decision, we will first take a look at growth profitability of the
company along with the corporate responsibility the company holds. We will also take into
consideration energy efficiency as well as their support services. Based upon these factors a

Database And Unstructured Data Of A Business Perspective
1. Introduction
Nowadays, terabytes to petabytes of data that is been stored and transmitted by numerous sources
and organizations have realized that these data contain tangible value that has the potential to
change the fortunes of a business. Top firms leverage their business through the valuable insights
gained through these data to assist them in their decision making process. The huge chucks of data
consists structured, semi structured and unstructured data. Organizations have switched their focus
more on exploring semi structured and unstructured data that is generated through social media
activities, personal media information and geo location data.

In addition to its flexibility, these databases provides horizontal scalability and distributed
computing that led to adoption of NoSQL databases in the firms. The SQL databases uses Structured
Query Language whereas NOSQL databases use Unstructured Query Language which varies from
database to database.
1.2 Features of NoSQL Databases:
Schema on Read: There is no definite schema on the underlying data in the databases and it leads to
high flexibility on the storage
Nonrelational: In traditional databases there are relations between the tables. For example, a list of
transaction details can be connected to a separate list of delivery details. With a NoSQL database,
this information is stored as an aggregate a single record with everything about the transaction,
including the delivery address
Commodity hardware: With a NoSQL database, cheap commodity hardware can be used. Adding
more of these cheap servers allows NoSQL databases to scale to handle more data.
Highly distributable: With a NoSQL database, a cluster of servers can be used to hold a single large
database
2. Different Types of NOSQL databases
There are many types of non relational databases but more often than not, they fall under one of the
following categories:
2.1 Document Model
In a document model, data is stored in documents. This uses a type of notation called JSON
(JavaScript Object Notation) and is closely associated with the object

Analysis Of Samuel Wallace s Unfinished Business
Unfinished Business
Samuel Wallace was tired of being humiliated and degraded by his boss, Mr. Marin, so one
Monday, Samuel killed him.
Samuel had worked for Mr. Marin for 10 years, and had never once been told thank you. The
closest he ever got was a grunt when the morning coffee he prepared wasn t warm enough or the
tax receipts weren t in two weeks in advance. After months of intolerable lecturing, Samuel decided
that on the 10th anniversary of his joining the firm, he would stab his boss.
The plan was simple. Too simple. As if, subconsciously, it had been taking shape for a long time.
His 10th anniversary was on a Monday. Fortunately, that was the day that Mr. Marin spent alone in
his office all morning. He played blackjack with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He had to keep reminding himself that everything must appear to be normal. With all of his
strength, Samuel tried to force himself to focus on his work. However, he couldn t stop his hands
from shaking as he finalized the details of the Jacobson merger.
Mr. Marin, right on cue, came in at eight and asked Emily, his assistant, to take all of his phone
calls and leave him alone as he would be very busy all morning. As he was entering his office, he
turned his eye to Samuel and sneered, I need to talk to you after lunch. Samuel nodded, noticing the
pause in the surrounding staff, which indicated that they had heard his remark.
At twelve, Samuel packed his briefcase and walked over to the reception, alerting Miranda that
he would be leaving for lunch and would be back at one. Miranda nodded, disinterested. Samuel
then walked to the fire escape, however that day, instead of beginning his descent, he placed his
briefcase in the inside of the door and headed towards Mr. Marin s office. Closing his fist tightly,
Samuel raised his trembling limb and lightly knocked on the wooden office door, one, two, three
times. No answer, but he didn t exactly expect one. Silently, Samuel reached for the metal
doorknob, around which he had carefully wrapped a handkerchief. He wasn t going to leave any
fingerprints behind.
Samuel entered the office and locked the door after him. Behind a huge

The Death Toll Of Haiti
It was typical late afternoon in Haiti capital of Port au Prince. People were strolling the streets,
and local vendors were selling various goods at the Port au Prince historic Iron Market. Then at
4:53 pm on January 12, 2010 a 7.0 magnitude hit Haiti. Haiti had not seen a major earthquake like
this in almost 200 years. People scrambled through the streets as the ground roared knocking down
huge stone and brick building onto the streets of Port au Prince. An eyewitness describes the
moment that the earthquakehit, The earth screamed; a sound of thunder that came from its belly
as it violently shook the plants, the car, the walls, the pavement that I stood on. I called out to
everyone to walk out of the house quickly. It seemed like a long, long time. Then silence. Then
screams from some of the residents of the rural neighborhood (Clesca, 2010). This would be one
of the deadliest earthquake of our generation. The estimated death toll was 316,000 deaths, and
over 3 million people were displaced by the earthquake. Many people died when their dwelling
collapsed and they were trapped under the rumble. People also died from falling objects, such as
large building materials. This earthquake will ultimately change the structured of Haiti and leave
many residents asking, who is responsible for the huge loss of life? As I have mention above, Haiti
has not been hit by a major earthquake since the 18th century. Geologists first believed that
Caribbean tectonic plates were responsible

Green Bay Essay
I think that I would be a good fit for UW Green Bay because of what Green Bay has to offer. I got
the opportunity to visit Green Bay on two occasions, once with my cousin Michaela Haas, who
has graduated from Green Bay, and once during your Music and Art Open House on March 2
earlier this year. After visiting Green Bay, I knew that I would fit in because of how open of a
campus it is. I have witnessed the overwhelmingly expansive music program which Green Bay
has to offer and I feel as if this is a place where I can succeed and achieve my musical potential.
There are many reasons that I have been looking at applying at Green Bay. One such reason is that
Green Bay has produced some of the most human people I know, which probably sounds ... Show

Apart from the class size, the campus itself is another reason I really think UWGB is great for
me. Green Bay has so many separate building that serve their own individual purpose from the
library, to the recreational center, and the auditoriums, into the ever famous tunnels beneath the
campus. Not only do you have subject specific building but you have this network or tunnels to
better aid the students in their commute to their classes in the frigged weather of the Wisconsin
winter. This is not only a luxury but a real deal maker for me because it ensure that I ll be able to
get to my classes on time, ready to learn instead of barging in late and unprepared. These are just
some of the reason I feel like UW Green Bay would be a perfect fit for me on my journey to
bettering my education.

South East And Laddakh And Pakistan
In 1943, he got married with Shareen Amin Begum, who was left by Bhutto to remarry again.
Bhutto married again an Iranian Kurdish woman named Begum Nusrat Ispahani in Karachi on 8th
Sept., 1951. His political career mainly started in the year 1957, when the Bhutto became the
youngest member of Pakistan s delegation to UN. In the year 1958, he became the youngest
PakistanCabinet Minister under President Ayub Khan. He was famous for his demagogic styles of
speech, which brought him to national prominence and popularity.
His rise in politics and higher echelons of power was due to his mysteriously sharp mind coupled
with cunning desire to be on the top of the national politics. His astute political manoeuvrings can
be gauged from the fact that on the eve of India China war in 1962, the rulers of China invited
Pakistan to jointly dismember India by attacking on North East and Laddakh and Pakistan from
Jammu side in Jammu and Kashmir to grab the maximum territory. Pakistan could fulfil their wish
by taking Kashmir and China would grab entire North East to come closure to Indian Ocean. Bhutto
disclosed the plan to General Ayub Khan the President of Pakistan but got rebuked for such a
loathsome and outrageous suggestion, rather was suggested that Pakistan should have Joint
Defence Agreement with India. Bhutto was aghast and made a sorry exit, calling Ayub Khan a
political bankrupt.

Head Coach Case Study
Rutgers Scarlett Knights Big Ten Conference (2014 record: 8 5) Head Coach: Kyle Flood
Offense: While Maryland struggled in its first year in the Big Ten, Rutgers seemed to have a
little smoother transition in its first year in the conference. On offense, the team showed a lot of
discipline to squeeze out a total of 390 YPG of total offense on the way to scoring 26.7 PPG. By
limiting mental mistakes, the Scarlett Knights were able to score enough to keep them in
games that led to victories and a place in the post season. The best overall performance from a
Rutgers offensive player in 2014 came from SR WR Leonte Carroo who dazzled fans with 1,086
yards of receiving and 10 TDs. The return for his senior season is a big positive for the team,...

True to form, the defense was destroyed by top offensive teams like Ohio State and Michigan
State while showing they could hold its own against the rest of the competition. Coach Floyd
has to excited by the fact he only loss one significant player (Lorenzo Waters 71 tackles, 2
interception, 2 sacks) to graduation. Other than that, several very talented players are returning
with another year of experience. Leading the way will be the team s leading tackler JR LB
Steve Longa who had 102 tackles and 2 sacks in 2014. On the other side of the field, SR LB
Quentin Gause returns after a season that saw him record 72 tackles and 1 sack. The real
strength of this year s defense might be on the defensive line where they return two key players
who made a significant impact in 2014. The first one is SR DL Darius Hamilton who had 45
tackles and 6 sacks. The real surprise was the play of red shirt SO DE Komoko Turay who led the
team in sacks with 7.5 as a freshman despite coming off the bench in third down situations. If they

Physical Advantages And Uses Of The Vacuum Grippers

It is a subsystems of handling mechanisms which provide temporary contact with the object to be

Gender Stereotypes In The Sitcom American Dad
American Dad is an animated TV sitcom created by Seth MacFarlane, Mike Barker, and Matt
Weitzman to characterize the different members of an american family. MacFarlane and his
colleagues put a twist on the average family by exaggerating each member s role. The main
characters in the series are Stan Smith who plays the father, Francine Smith playing the mother,
Roger who is an alien and must disguise himself to keep from being noticed, Steve Smith who is
the son, Hayley Smith the liberal daughter, and Klaus Heissler who plays a german olympic ski

It seems as if it is taboo to talk about women s menstruals especially around males but when it
comes to everything else dealing with women and their bodies, men would engage in the
discussion and care about the topic at hand. Francine continues to show Stan that they could save
money and he continuously ignored her requests. This is an example of how women are deemed
more responsible and conservative than men. Stan was so focused on his truck meanwhile
Francine was focused on what would help the entire household. The last example that I pulled
from this episode about women was when the daughter, Hayley Smith was talking to Klaus about
convincing her father to turn him back into a human. Klaus was upset with her for stating her
opinion because she is a female and she is a liberal therefore, anything that she says to her father
will not be considered. This is another stereotype that females are unstable and do not make good
decisions which is something that the creators try to play

Top Reasons Why Branding Is Important
Question One A: Using your own words, summarize the seven reasons why branding is important.
1.Strong Brands Protect the Consumer
Brands have always served as sort of an emblem to consumers, that there would be a certain
quality associated with that symbol. There are still many many popular brands today that are able
to be distinguished but, brands are standing out among the rest by gaining a strong positive
reputation which far exceeds the quality of there product. Brands ensure that they will provide
consumers with a standard quality, and if they fail to do so their reputation is tarnished. Brands
fight for our money ever day and try to stand out by focusing more on innovation to one up the
competition. Brands also largely battle with price, which is a large part in the consumer decision.
The brand and quality must be worth it otherwise customers will be lost to the competition. Brands
protect their consumers simply because they provide an innovative product that differs from the
competitions product. At the same time, they are ensuring that the quality is worth an appropriate
price. This creates a strong and loyal customer base that will surely build the brand a positive
reputation.
2.Strong Brands Drive Share Performance
Powerful market performance has been proven to advance multiple components including the
shareholders, the company itself, and pensions. Organizations that have strongly branded portfolios
have been seen to consistently surpass those organizations

Analysis Of Jean Cocteau s Version Of Beauty And The Beast
When raising children, it is necessary to understand how to navigate their questions on life in a
manner that is both appropriate for their age, yet is acceptable in their eyes in terms of an actual
answer. According to Bruno Bettelheim, fairy tales are told to children as a way to allow them to
symbolically address issues and challenges they might face. These fairy tales employ the use of
characters and plots that children can place themselves in, thus allowing them to identify with the
situation described. However, over time, some adaptions of the fairy tales differ from their subject
matter. Jean Cocteau s version of Beauty and the Beastdiffers from Walt Disney s version, as it
retains many of the theories that the Disney version omitted. Jean Cocteau s version and Disney s
versions of Beauty and the Beast differ in their message by changing aspects of the symbolism and
characters personalities. According to Bruno Bettleheim, children face many difficulties while
growing up, and need a way to understand all the complexities of life. However, they are also too
young too be told the unabridged truths that life holds. Bettleheim then concluded that fairy tales
and other stories were able to communicate these ideas to children through simplistic characters and
situations that they could understand. He theorized that by expressing these stories to children on
the conscious level, their unconsciousness would be able to process these stories, and allow them to
understand the

Lincoln s Emancipation of the Slaves Essay
The Emancipation Proclamation speech was actually intended for most of the people that would
free the slaves, not to the slaves. According to Carl Rollyson the Proclamation was not intended for
the slave, blacks, or former slaves. The Emancipation Proclamation speech was during the
Antislavery Movement or what some people call the Abolitionist Movement, during the 1860 s. The
main leaders of the abolitionist movement were Abraham Lincolnand Fredrick Douglas. The point
of Lincoln writing the speech about emancipating the slaves was to free the slaves and win the civil
war. Lincoln had written a speech titled The Emancipation Proclamation. He wrote this speech and

Lincoln had many purposes of writing the speech about the emancipation of the slaves.
Lincoln most likely had many reasons to write this speech, but there was one main reason that
stood out the most to Veronica Majerol. Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation to
transform the nature of the Civil War such as, helping the Union secure victory in the Civil Car.
In addition, it had freed the slaves in all of the confederate states but not in the Union states
because he did not want to lose his support in the northern states. If Lincoln would have freed the
slaves in the entire United States of America he would have lost all of his supporters in the north
that had slaves. In addition he would have lost the civil war because of his lack of troops. It
authorized the enlistment of free blocks for armed service, free slaves from farms (Majerol).
Therefore, Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation because he wanted the support of the
blacks so that they could join and help them win the Civil War. Lincoln signed the proclamation
because he knew that the blacks would make up most of the soldiers in the civil war. ...blacks made
up about twenty percent of the Union Army, tipping the balance of military power decisively in
favor of the Union (Majerol). Resulting in the fact that Lincoln

Controversy swarms this topic because many believe partition to be an inherently evil British
concept, along with it being one of the main causes for an escalated North Ireland conflict. John
Whyte covered this topic using the Organizational Process method. When Britain decided to return
Ireland to a state of Home Rule, the Ulster unionist backlash was huge. Faced with a crisis, Ireland s
officials were slow to act. Britain stepped in to try to hastily resolve the conflict. British parliament
proceeded to view the conflict along pre established nationality lines of Catholic nationalists and
Protestant unionists. Parliament ignored the fact that many Protestant unionists were not organized
or firm on their position against Home Rule. Britain did not understand that Protestant unionists
were able to be coerced or appeased without partition. Britain also chose to partition because it was
one of the first solutions presented, one that they were quick to use in foreign affairs. They failed to
realize that countries like India and Palestine were thrown into decades of turmoil because Britain
or Britain s allies chose to partition the countries. Partition was also one of the resource efficient
ways of calming down the Irish. After entering WWI, British attention was not fully focused on the
North Ireland conflict. After hastily pushing Home Rule through, the final rejection

International Marketing
Introduction In modern business it is extremely important for companies to have wide variety of
tools, which enable them to analyse their environment and their markets. Most commonly used
tools are PEST analysis, SWOT analysis and Porter s Five Forces. In this case the most appropriate
tool is PEST analysis which can be further extended to PESTEL. Other variations such as SLEPT,
PESTLE, STEEPLE and STEEPLED are also possible. SWOT analysis and Porter s Five Forces
require more specific information about the actual company and its market, but in this case this
information is not available. Brooks et al. (2004), say that PEST acronym stands for Political,

Political environment assessment prior to entering a new market is therefore outmost important.
Economical Economical factors include economic growth, government spending levels, inflation,
exchange rates, unemployment levels and national and individual income. Manufacturers would
prefer to have politically stable countries, with low inflation rates and steady growth of real
GDP. Inflation is analysed by Daniels and Radebaugh (1998) as an important aspect of economic
environment, because of its influence on interest rates, exchange rates and cost of living. Other
economic indicators have to be monitored and analysed as well. Gillespie (2007) warns about high
interest rates, which can deter investments as capital becomes more expensive. Strong currency can
hurt exports because it raises the price in terms of foreign currency. Positive national income
growth on the other hand will increase demand for п¬Ѓrms products. GDP per capita is the
indicator which will compare living standards in different countries. Manufacturer is selling value

other taxes which will affect already low profit margins. Developed countries will have free

and improve student participation in the classroom from both males and females. In analyzing this

bond by exchanging playful insults and put downs (Tannen 215). . Tannen s research in You Just

communication patterns of men and women go beyond social occasions, and appear to be in the
basic forms of the opposite sex. Men use communication to maintain independence, while women
talk to maintain intimacy (Morrison 1). Female students often find that males like to hide their
feelings and speak undemonstrative outside the classroom

The Intertropical Convergence Zone Plays a Large Role in...
The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) is a permanent low pressure feature that lies on the
meteorological equator. It is characterisied by lots of cloud cover and precipitation (Andrews et
al., 2003). The ITCZ plays a significant role in the climate and weather events in the tropics. The
clouds created by the ITCZ also provide an important form of albedo in the tropics (Waliser and
Gautier, 1993),which has an effect on global climate. Tropical events such as monsoonand cyclones
occur in the ITCZ and are products of the unique convection system found around the ITCZ
(Yancheva et al., 2007, Ferreira and Schubert, 1997).The ITCZ is a product of humid trade winds
from the northern and southern hemisphere converging and then rising. This rising of humid air
usually results in precipitationover the tropics(Waliser and Somerville, 1994). This rising of the
humid air acts as the driving force in the Hadley Cell (Waliser and Somerville, 1994). The ITCZ is
a product of high levels of solar radiation and high amounts of latent heat released from the ocean
(Andrews et al., 2003). It is important to realize that the ITCZ moves throughout the year
depending on the seasons, it is likely to be found in the southern hemisphere in the southern
hemisphere summer and in the northern hemisphere during the northern hemispheres summer.
However the ITCZ is more likely to be found in the Northern hemisphere (Waliser and Somerville,
1994). The ITCZ plays a large role in many of the climatic

The Philadelphia Police Report From A Police Department
Ratcliffe, J. H., Taniguchi, T., Groff, E. R., Wood, J. D. (2011) focused on hotspots in
Philadelphia. To find these hotspots the researchers used violent crimes such as homicide,
aggravated assault and robberies from the Incident Transmittal System (INCT) database of the
Philadelphia police report from 2006 2008. These measures have face validity since these are
common violent crimethat large cities have. The database used is a valid way to estimate crime,
but also does have limitations. The researchers were able to use a t test with linear regression
models to find the impact of footpaths while taking into consideration of extraneous influences. The
limitations of using official data from a policedepartment are the unreported crimes... Show more

The actual style of policing the foot patrols did vary from community oriented to proactive
policing. Ratcliffe et al,. (2011) sampled more than 200 foot patrol officers and used geographic
information systems (GIS) to create randomized controls for crime hotspots. Previous studies
had lacked this GIS technology, which could be a reason for different results. Results showed
significant reduction of violent crime in the experimental group after 12 weeks, and when
including the control group there were 53 violent crimes that were prevented. Contradicting
previous findings this showed that foot patrols are actually effective in preventing violent crime
in crime hotspots. When differences in the starting level of violent crime were accounted for
there was no significant differences in treatment and control areas. The unit of analysis was the
Voronoi network which consists of areal units. There were 120 foot patrols found which the
police would have patrols in 16 hours a day, 5 days a week, and used officers recently out of the
academy. These officers who are recent academy graduates may have different tactics than other
officers since they may want to prove themselves and are excited to be a new police officer. This
use of new officers may be a mechanism at work reducing crimes as well. The researchers used a
quasi random number generator to assign and control

Analysis of Fabulous Superlatives Concert
This may sound trite, but the concert as I saw it is best described by the name of the band, the
Fabulous Superlatives!!! On every level this was a concert I will remember for a long time.
The ArtsQuest venue was new to me and I was impressed with the ease of finding it, the free
amble parking, the friendly staff and the great sound and seating. It is a modern impressive
structure built around the old Bethlehem Steel Works. The ruins of the old plant are used as a
visual backdrop to the new and impressive entertainment complex. There are a couple of
restaurants, and a movie theater housed next to the concert venue. The food was very good, the
serviced just great and I d would and plan to go back.
Marty Stuart and the Fabulous Superlatives took the stage with a thunderous explosion of applause
form the sold out audience. It was evident that many folks where their to see Marty as the primary
reason for coming that evening. His band is truly both fabulous and superlative. The line up is:
Harry Stenson on drums and background vocals; Kenny Vughan on lead and acoustic guitar; Paul
Martin bass and background vocals and Clarence the guitar accompanying Marty Stuart. Clarence
is the guitar played by the fabled Clarence White. Clarence and Roger s Rickenbacker 370/12
guitars were stars in their own right getting numerous pictures taken of them before, during and
after the show. Marty , who is a guitar collector, also owns Hank a guitar one owned by Hank

What Are The Main Features Of Fascist Music
How are the main ideas of Fascist doctrine reflected in Fascist music of the period? Fascism
which was the dominant ideology in Italy in the 1920 s and 1930 s had huge impact on every
sphere of Italian society as well as music. Considering the fact that all public output including
music which produced within Italian border was organized and controlled by state which
reflected fascist ideas and ambitions, it is vital to analyse several popular pieces of music in order
to get complete picture about how this particular form of art echoes the doctrine which was written
by Benito Mussolini in 1932. One of the mainly highlighted idea is importance of the strong state

Creating An Emergency Response Plan
Creating an emergency response plan is very important in any business. There are different plans
for medical, fire, police, and school. The following plans are imperative in any environment. There
are many things that will happen and Incident Command System (ICS) will help to provide the
responders with an effective system that works. But before we go into the structures, an
understanding of an incident command systemneeds to be addressed. According to OSHA, n.d., ICS
is a standardized on scene incident managementconcept designed specifically to allow responders to
adopt an integrated organizational structure equal to the complexity and demands of any single
incident or multiple incidents without being hindered by jurisdictional boundaries . ICS is a sub
model of the National Incident Management System(NIMS), as released by the U.S. Department of
Homeland Security in 2004.
An incident command system is referenced to an adaptable, scalable response association which
provides a general agenda where people can work side by side efficiently. These people may come
from many different agencies that do not normally work together, and an incident command system
is intended to give regular response and operation procedures to decrease the troubles and
possibility for miscommunication on such incidents. ICS has been summed up as a first on scene
structure, where the first responder is in charge until the situation has been cleared up, a more
experienced responder reaches your

The Game Hex Was Invented By The Danish Mathematician Piet
The game Hex was invented by the Danish mathematician Piet Hein in the 1940s. This game has
been of great interest to mathematicians around the world since its introduction, including
Martin Gardner who explores it in chapter eight of his first Scientific American Book of
Mathematical Puzzles and Games (1959). The game is normally played on a board of 11x11
hexagons with two edges labelled black and the other two labelled white. It is a two person game
in which both players (using black and white counters) attempt to create a chain connecting both of
their respective sides of the board. This chapter will stray away from the basics of Hexand instead
explore a more specific aspect of the game: ladders. Topics to be discussed include general... Show

This knowledge will hopefully allow the player to place ladder escapes (discussed later in the
chapter), which will more often than not result in winning positions for the attacking player. The
most common ladder formation, the bottleneck, is one that all players should familiarize
themselves with. This occurs when there is a gap in between two defensive counters, and the
attacking player must place a counter in that gap, which ultimately forces a ladder like the one
depicted in figure one on the left. At this point, it would be wise to place an escape in the third
row, to the left of where the ladder is about to form. The reasoning behind this is that the
defending player now has to deal with a ladder escape and a possible connection to counters at
the top of the board in C2, D3, and E4. All things considered, an ideal placement for the ladder
escape would be C9. Figure two shows the placement of the red counter on C9 and the computer
s response in A10. Can you now determine a placement that would secure a win for the red
player?Ladder escapes, as hinted to in the previous two paragraphs, are of vital importance with
regards to ladders and the successful formation of a connection to the edge. Without the use of
them, ladders would continue to extend until reaching an edge and ultimately a victory for the
player on the defensive side of the ladder. Similarly to ladders themselves, ladder escape counters

Essay about On Delacroix and Courbet
On Delacroix and Courbet The period surrounding 1781 to 1855 in France s history is united by
social and political change, an evolution of ideological struggles towards the best possible political
struggle amongst anchoring human faults. The life of the artist too underwent change and
struggled with the hierarchy that existed to validate artistic triumph. Changes are apparent amongst
a broad spectrum, including David, Ingres, history paintings and caricatures. Artists that
demonstratively epitomize the shifts, overwhelmingly united by a shift from acceptance to
defiance, are Eugene Delacroix (1789 1863) and Gustave Courbet (1819 1877). Artistic and cultural
differences that developed are transparent through understanding... Show more content on

The Salon and its competitions dictated the motives of the artist. Delacroix s first winning painting
was Dante and Virgil in Hell (1822). This painting was indeed a success: the French believed
themselves to be a modern embodiment of the Classics, and Dante and Virgil reinforced this well
enough. The painting is deemed a revolution in itself. The colors blend together so much that the
painting is better understood from farther away than up close. Fans triumphed it s subject matter:
...romanticism will not consist in a perfect execution, but in a conception analogous to the ethical
disposition of the age. This painting, after the Divine Comedy, also embeds Delacroix in the literary
movement. This movement was vital to the overall organization of history painting, as a sharp
literary vocabulary of the painter was admired if not necessary. Delacroix has a fondness for
Dante and Shakespeare, two other great painters of human anguish. Delacroix concerned himself
with grand, tortured ideas. This literary fascination of Shakespeare, Bryon, Sir Walter Scott, etc.
can be seen as a departure from the classics into modernity even though it served as good
grounding for him. The way of Delacroix is a distinct, unique flair.
Although Delacroix was the youngest artist with works in the Louvre, his antagonistic paintings
would begin to receive more demanding criticism. Gros described one of his works as the
massacre of the painting. He depicted many scenes on

The Siege Of Jerusalem By Ezekiel
Ludicrous. Torturous. Appalling. The unthinkable prophetic acts that God commanded for Ezekiel
to perform throughout his ministry were meant to be sensational scenes that demonstrated what
was to come for the Israelites. Ezekiel, illustrating the siege of Jerusalem was one of the first
prophetic acts God required Ezekiel to complete. God commanded Ezekiel to create a miniature
version of an invading army camped around Jerusalemand then place an iron plate between
himself and Jerusalem. Ezekiel, while lying on the left side of his body for three hundred ninety
days, represented the number of years that Israel was punished, and then lying on his right side
for forty days, represented the number of years that Judah was punished. Ezekiel had to portion
out water and grain cake, which he was supposed to cook on human manure to demonstrate the
unclean bread that Israel would soon eat, but Ezekiel refused as cooking on human manure
disobeyed God s dietary laws. Therefore, God compromised with Ezekiel and allowed him to
prepare the food on animal manure instead. Ezekiel, portraying the siege of Jerusalemwas just the
beginning of what God required Ezekiel to do in order to illustrate the suffering that the Israelites
were about to experience due to their unfaithfulness. Not only did God use Ezekiel to perform
extraordinary prophetic acts in order to get His message across to the Israelites, but God also
allowed for Ezekiel to have visions that reached beyond history and

The Impact On The Australian Home Front
In August 1914, after the outbreak of World War I, an immense wave of support flooded Britain
from her ally, Australia. All Australian political parties, community leaders, newspapers and
churches were on board with this major movement to help the mother country. All believed it was a
morally right and necessary commitment . World War I, 1914 1918 had a significant and long lasting
impact on the Australian home front. The civilian population had to undergo many changes to cater
for the war. At this time women s push for a larger role in the war effort caused a significant and
long lasting impact on the Australian home front, which has helped shape workplace gender
equality today. Conscription also impacted the Australian home front, meaning, compulsory
enlistment of people in military service. As well as the massive impact on Australia s economy
from the many trading cancellations through abandoned or cut off allies, which has helped build
Australia s economy to what it is today.
Prior to WWI, women were considered as unemployable and only worthy for teaching and small
shop keeping jobs. Unlike other countries like Germany and Britain during the war that allowed
women to take on the male roles in society, the Australian government refused to let women take up
such roles. Instead women started organisations such as The Australian Comfort Fund (ACF) who
sent comfort boxes to the boys on the front line. These contained cakes, cigarettes and other luxury

Within the passage, the messenger of the Lord went up from Gilgal. Many towns in Scripture are

How Capacity Planning Is A Critical Process For The...
Capacity planning is a critical process for the successful implementation of IT projects. This is
especially true for information management programs since resource utilization increases with
rapidly growing data. As businesses consider more opportunities for leveraging data for different
purposes, resources are impacted, resulting in poor loading and response times.
Across Industry verticals there is increasing adoption of Hadoop for Information Management and
Analytics. Many have realized that in addition to new business related capabilities Hadoop also
offers a host of options for IT Simplification and cost reduction. Initiatives such as Offloads are at
the heart of such optimization. That said, capacity planning is the first step that needs to be
carried out successfully for either a IT driven use case or a business driven use case. This paper
takes a look at why Big Data processing frameworks such as Hadoop clusters require careful
capacity planning for the timely launch of Big Data based capabilities. Additionally, it discusses
how capacity planning can facilitate appropriate service level agreement (SLA) guarantees and
ensure deliveries within defined budgets. These types of guarantees with sets of standard hardware
configuration are the key for effective capacity planning. The key constituent of overall capacity
management strategy for the Hadoop eco system is Cluster Capacity Planning. It is this part of the
strategy that caters to the troublesome and unavoidable

Comparing Shakespeare s Hamlet and the Movie, The Lion King
There is no doubt that today s entertainment has lost most of its touch with the more classical
influences of its predecessors. However, in mid 1994, Walt Disney Pictures released what could
arguably be the best animated feature of all time in The Lion King. With a moral base unlike most
of the movies released at the time, TLK placed a children s facade on a very serious story of
responsibility and revenge. However, this theme is one of the oldest in history, and it is not the
least apparent in one of the oldest works of literature by The Bard himself, William Shakespeare.
The work that Disney s TLK parallels is none other than Hamlet: Prince of Denmark, and the film

However, some have attempted to theorize that Hamlet s delay is due to his mental instability, his
madness over the death of his father. Eliot refutes this, calling the characterization a simple ruse,
and to the end, we may assume, understood as a ruse to the audience (62). Simba exhibits this same
behavior, venting his feelings in mournful retaliation against responsibility, most notably when his
childhood friend Nala attempts to persuade his to return to the Pride Lands. This delay between our
characters adds a more haunting effect between the two works. It s surprising that today s audiences
can be so moved by themes that were first implemented in literature almost four hundred years
before.
Similarly, the characters of Hamlet Sr. and Mufasa bear a striking resemblance to one another, not
only in their actions, but their meanings as well. Hamlet Sr., the once king of Denmark, ruled his
kingdom in peace and prosperity, evident in the conversations in Act I, Scene I between Marcellus
and Horatio about the creations of implements of war in Denmark under the new king, Claudius.
Mufasa, too, ruled peacefully over the Pride Lands, only worrying about his son and his
responsibilities. But, after their deaths, they each become more than the kings they once were.
They become the heralds for thir sons, compelling

Themistocles wanted to fight the Persians in the Strait of Salamis. Many people thought that he
was crazy for this. However, his plan worked. Athens achieved victory and broke up the Persian
navy, destroying nearly 200 ships. After this strategy was victorious, Themistocles was declared a
militaristic genius.
Themistocles was raised poor, with no typical aristocratic upbringing. He was nothing special,
just a typical Athenian citizen. He wasn t born into a rich, popular family. He simply worked with
what he had available to him at the time. Historical forces were not mysteriously working away in
his mind, giving him direction, inspiring him to be brilliant. He strategized on his own, and came

Western And Western Saddles
According to society, Equestrians are jockeys that race around a track. But to anyone who s
actually ridden or has a passion for horses, you know that there are two distinctive styles of
riding English and Western. There are both similarities and differences between the two types of
riding. Regardless of the style of riding people participate in or favor, each world of riding opens up
various activities for the rider to enjoy.
The most obvious difference between English and Western ridingis the tack itself. Most people
associate Western riding with cowboys and herding cattle. The Western saddleis a larger, heavier

For example, English style horses tend to be taller and many are leggy, aiding their ability to
travel over long distances at a variety of speeds as well as jump over a variety of obstacles
(Blocksdorf 2016). English horses are normally lighter and taller to give them an advantage over
jumping fences and performing in cross country. Western horses and stockier and they tend to be
shorter than English horses. Western horses tend to be compact and capable of steady travel all
day with small bursts of speed to chase stray cattle (Blocksdorf 2016). Of course, a Quarter horse
can participate in the English discipline, and a Dutch Warmblood could participate in reining, but
those breeds are usually specifically bred for either English or Western disciplines. A similarity
between English and Western riding is the posture. Both types of riding require the rider to sit
up straight in the saddle and have their heels down. Comfortably and securely sitting in the
saddle requires you to keep your hands down, tuck your elbows in, and push your shoulders
back. Good posture in the saddle is essential to riding correctly. For example, A balanced rider is
able to maintain this center of balance through all paces. I call this the independent riding posture .
The riding posture is the position the rider establishes in the saddle, at all paces. An independent
riding posture gives the rider a stable base allowing them to use their legs, seat, and hands

This is expressed in the Goldsborough article as well.
The best distinction I ve heard is that the word nerd connotes social awkwardnesswhile geek
conveys specialized expertise and devotion. The former is negative, the latter positive. In a 2007
interview on The Colbert Report, author Richard Clarke said the difference between nerds and
geeks is geeks get it done. (Goldsborough, 2010)
These are both well stated definitions of nerd and geek; they provide a modern view of the
terms alongside a modern definition of them. It can be generally assumed from the provided
definitions that nerds are social outcasts and geeks, while being on the boarder of being social
outcasts, manage to still be able to make friends and do their job fairly well. There are also some

The Importance Of Being A Good And Effective Leader
One very important aspect of being a good and effective leader includes valuing your employees
and being able to convey to each employee the value that they have to you and the company as an
individual. Christine Comaford wrote The Value of Valuing Employees discussing the importance
of valuing each employee and discussing six specific pitfalls leaders portray when it comes to
valuing employees. The pitfalls include, failing to respond to employee emails, failing to provide
feedback positive or negative, acknowledging people only when they make mistakes, failing to
celebrate victories, showing favoritism, and burning out employees.
Committing pitfalls in leadership The first pitfall Comaford (2013) discusses is Failing to
Respond to Employee Emails . This pitfall is essentially not making enough time to respond and
/or not responding quickly enough to employees, specifically in emails. By not responding to
your employees email in a timely manner, or simply not responding at all makes the employees
mind panic and the employee begin to question themselves and their importance in the company. I
have had this happen in my previous workplace with my district manager. I would send her
emails, leave her notes on her desk, or even ask her in person, face to face to help me out with
something or an answer about something and nine times out of ten she would forget to respond or
help me in anyway. This made me not want to come to her with any concerns, or for any help or any

Makeup Of Makeup
Samuel Pepys did make note of the heavy makeup used by Nell Gwynne and her co worker Mrs.
Knepp on stage, and how frightful he found it, so it is likely that even if makeup, in general, had
an artificial look, stage makeup went a few steps further. Red cheeks connoted youthfulness and
health, yellow cheeks age and illness. The eyes were outlined with black and shaded with
colored pigment, blue being quite popular. Hair powder was used on the stage as well, and the
color of it could be used either to compliment the actor or actress s look, or be chosen to suit the
character they played. False facial hair was another means to change an actor s look. Makeup in
the 17th and 18th century was quite simple, but with a very artificial look. The ideal, for both men
and women, was a pale face, enhanced with cosmetics aimed to lighten the complexion or with
white makeup. As with the lips, there is no real evidence that brows were blotted out and repainted
higher up on the brow, though that may have happened in the theatre for effect. Patches were very
popular throughout both the 17th and 18th century, most commonly round and black made out of
taffeta, velvet or paper, but larger and more elaborate shapes were also in use (Samuel Pepysdiary).
Theatre goers also enjoyed seeing women in breeches roles in which a female character disguised
herself as a man by wearing tight pants that exposed their legs. Breeches roles are found in plays
from the 1660s, such as Nell Gwyn as Florimel

Discrimination In Court Cases
Every mystery novel needs a detective. They are the ones who investigate, gather clues, and
eventually solve a crime. During their odyssey for the truth, detectives get to carefully examine
every nook and shadow in hopes of finding something that points them in the way to the solution.
Under Article III of the Constitution, the United Statesof America was given a detective: The
Supreme Court. This court, when searching for a constitutionally based sign telling the justices to
vote one way or another, can subject the petitioner or respondent to the highest level of analysis
strict scrutiny to see if the actions of one party was permissible by law. One such case that required

One long term effect was that both California and Washington adopted constitutional amendments
denying preferential treatment based on race or sex in governmental programs. On the other hand,
a short term effect was that with the new race blind application system, the entering class at UC
Davis Medical School in 1998 only had five African Americans and three Hispanic students, and
the entering class at the university s law school in Berkeley that same year contained not a single
African American student. Because of the sudden drop in admitted minorities, the decision of the

necessary. After winning the case, Bakke went on to graduate from the school and received his

The Role Of Radical Feminism In The United States
Women have fought oppression in the past, and are still considered fighting today. Feminism has
become very popular in the United States. Equality of the sexes has been accomplished in many
areas, yet equality is only the beginning for radical feminists in the Untied States. The idea of
equality of the sexes has been twisted into the fantasy of women as the dominant gender.
Feminism is defined as the belief of equality among the sexes, socially, politically, and
economically. The idea of feminism originated as early as 18th century France, and continued to
grow with women s public actions to acquire individual liberties in the 19th and 20th Centuries
(The Roots Of The Word Feminism ). For areas such as the Middle East, China, and France,
feminism was a large rigorous battle. The United States did not join the bandwagon until women
fully displayed it in 1848, fighting for their right to vote.Still active today, feminists wish to end the
concept of men being the dominate gender. However, feminism, though needed in certain areas, ...

In 1848 all women in the U.S were striving for a say in their government. Now however, radical
feminists in the U.S have broken off and developed a multitude of issues to solve with multiple
types of feminism to solve them. Whatever positive image the word feminist may have had, it has
been tarnished by those who have made it their own, and I, for one, am content to leave the
militants in full possession of the term. Dale O Leary states in her book The Gender Agenda
(Feminism? You Want Feminism? Which Brand Would You Like?). Radical feminists have taken
hold of the term and twisted it into a misunderstood word, in which multiple individuals find
themselves arguing over. Feminism has grown in the United States, yet it has seemed to grow too

Angels And Insects Essay
A great Neo Victorian concern was to deconstruct the ideals and myths of the Victorian society and
belief, as they were foolishly enslaved by their own jaundice. The Victorians have made a sidewall
to inner and sometimes outer world, becoming mediocre in thinking and acting.
The aim of this essay consists in illustrating various aspects that were taken over from Victorians
and ingeniously rearranged by A.S. Byatt in her first short novel from Angels and Insects aspects
regarding the multitude of perspectives when it comes to analyzing the characters.
On the one hand, it was quite unusual for a man who lived in the Victorian era to be so sensitive to
female s feelings, to offer her his unconditionally love and compassion, and to be so open minded
that he is seen as a poor fish by narrow minded people. The model of gentleman is, thus, brought
back to its literary meaning, in the sense that William is gentle in thought and action. It may seem
that he founds the balance between reason and emotion by keeping a journal: He had always kept
a journal. When he was a young man, in a village outside Rotherham in Yorkshire, he had written a

Analysis Of Along The Coast By Alfred Thompson Bricher
The artwork titled Along the Coast by Alfred Thompson Bricher was painted in the year 1880. This
particular work is composed of oil on canvas though the dimension were not specified at the
Museum of Fine Arts in Saint Petersburg, Florida. The overall focus of this painting is landscape in
along a northeastern seacoast in the United States. To begin, the formal element of line can be seen
throughout this artwork and helps the audience understand the dimensions and viewpoint the
audience Bricher grants his audience. The first noticeable line is defined by the shoreline giving the
paintingdepth and expressing distance. There is also a line along the bottom of the seaside cliff
that allows the audience to further understand that this painting is of a three dimensional
landscape. Moreover, where the blue sky meets the grey and black of the cliff provides an
outline for the physical landscape the artist wished to capture and defines the space it occupies.
Also, the line outlining where the water is located provides an outline for the entirety of the
shore. Furthermore, another formal element of art that appears in this work is space. Bricher was
able to transform his two dimensional depiction into a window to a three dimensional space by
simply manipulating his audience s point of view. In the foreground, the artist rendered the images
of the beached seaweed, rock formation in the water, and rowboat with comparably great detail. As
the viewer s eye travels up the physical

Public Administration And The Dichotomy
ORIGINS OF POLITICS ADMINISTRATION DICHOTOMY
The dichotomy has been one of the most important concepts in the field of public administration.
Even though for more than a century it has been the most debatable with disreputable issues in the
field. Svara and Overeem (2006), state that the dichotomy expands and contracts, rises and falls
but never goes away, that is to say that the heat may wear off once in a while but the debate is
always there and has never been forgotten, it is one of the primary debates of public administration.
The dichotomy was not a construct until the late 1940s which is when it became an important issue
of literature in public administration (Tahmasebi and Musavi, 2011:131). Many scholars have
traced this construct back to Woodrow Wilson who is also known as the Godfather of Public
Administration, who according to Tahmasebi and Musavi intended to protect administration from

leadership and oversight to administrators and that administrators provided a neutral competence to
the policy process. Stillman (1973) is of the take that Wilson was concerned with what he called
corrupting and politicizing interference of party organizations in in administration affairs . Svara

was a way of seeking to make stronger and redirect the former while protecting the latter. Wilson

PepsiCo gained entry to India in 1988 by creating a joint venture with the Punjab government
owned Punjab Agro Industrial Corporation (PAIC) and Voltas India Limited. This joint venture
marketed and sold Lehar Pepsi until 1991 when the use of foreign brands was allowed; PepsiCo
bought out its partners and ended the joint venture in 1994. [1] Others claim that firstly Pepsi was
banned from import in India, in 1970, for having refused to release the list of its ingredients and in
1993, the ban was lifted, with Pepsi arriving on the market shortly afterwards. These controversies

But an Indian parliamentary committee, in 2004, backed up CSE s findings and a government
appointed committee is now trying to develop the world s first pesticide standards for soft drinks.
Coke and PepsiCo opposed the move, arguing that lab tests aren t reliable enough to detect minute
traces of pesticides in complex drinks. On December 7, 2004, India s Supreme Court ruled that
both PepsiCo and competitor The Coca Cola Company must label all cans and bottles of the
respective soft drinks with a consumer warning after tests showed unacceptable levels of residual
pesticides.[citation needed]
Both companies continue to maintain that their products meet all international safety standards
without yet implementing the Supreme Court ruling.[citation needed] As of 2005, The Coca
Cola Company and PepsiCo together hold 95% market share of soft drink sales in India. [4]
PepsiCo has also been alleged to practice water piracy due to its role in exploitation of ground
water resources resulting in scarcity of drinking water for the natives of Puthussery panchayat in the
Palakkad district in Kerala, India. Local residents have been pressuring the government to close
down the PepsiCo unit in the village.
In 2006, the CSE again found that soda drinks, including both Pepsi and Coca Cola, had high
levels of pesticides in their drinks. Both PepsiCo and The Coca Cola Company maintain that their

Rhyme Scheme Of Invictus
Poem Analysis of Invictus (by: William Ernest Henley) By: Nina Lu
The poem Invictus written by William Ernest Henley consists of sixteen lines and is divided into
four stanzas. The rhyme scheme is abab cdcd efef ghgh and there are exactly eight syllables in
each line. This rhyme scheme and the specific syllables to each line help the phrases and lines flow
together smoothly. The theme of the poem is staying strong and thriving in the face of adversity
and it is very strongly present throughout the poem. In the first line of the first stanza, the word
night could symbolize the speaker s suffering and adversity because a common association to the
word night is darkness, which is also commonly associated with hard times in a person s life. ...

However, in the face of such dark situations, the speaker is still indebted to whatever gods there
may be for his strong and unconquerable soul. This line also makes reference to the title of the
poem because the word Invictus is Latin for unconquerable. In addition, this line connects back to
the theme because the speaker has a strong soul that can t be conquered, even in difficult situations.
The second stanza can be understood to mean that even in the midst of horrible circumstances, he is
still staying strong. This stanza begins with a metaphor that compares circumstance to an animal
because both have the common characteristic of a strong and deadly grip. Furthermore, the
bludgeoning of chance can be comprehended to mean the punishments of fate and even with these
punishments of fate, the speaker s head is still unbowed. He is still staying strong through these
hardships, which also relates back to the theme of staying strong and thriving in the face of
adversity. In the third stanza, the speaker uses the word shade as a metaphor for death because both
share the quality of being dark and mysterious. The third stanza states that beyond the pain and
sadness looms the horror of

The Use Of Forced Restraint And Mild Analgesia
Introduction As healthcare professionals, the goal is to relieve pain and suffering with little to no
harm done1,2. While children suffer similarly from pain as adults do, there are different factors to
take into account. Children might suffer from a heightened sense of fear and anxiety as compared
to adults3 and as such, the age old concept of forced restraint is no longer acceptable and may even
compound the child s fear in hospitals and needles throughout life1,4. While distraction techniques,
play therapy and mild analgesia might be sufficient in producing a cooperative and relaxed
child4,5, for severe pain, this is not an option and general anaesthesia or sedation is often used
instead1,6,7. Furthermore, given how the gold standard ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, IV infusion can be utilized in other roles. For instance, there are situations where a Y
line might be utilized to allow piggybacking or the addition of a second infusion set onto the same
line10. This helps to reduce the number of IV sites required in a patient and therefore, can reduce
the risk of infection as well as improving patient comfort. Whilst Y site administration is commonly
used in hospitals, there are limitations to it. For instance, once a drug has been administered
intravenously, it cannot be reversed11. Therefore, any adverse effect observed is difficult to treat.
This issue is only magnified when two or more drugs which are incompatible are administered
together12 (Fig 1.0). There are guides and references available when looking at drug incompatibility
but they can be limited13. As such, there are situations where the outcome of combining two drugs
is unknown and hence the responsibility falls the pharmacist to determine if the infusion is suitable
for treatment or not. This paper seeks to look at the drug ketamine; a sedative commonly used in
pain management, combined with two other commonly used drugs in hospitals, vancomycin; an
antibiotic, and tramadol; an analgesic. It will also seek to define incompatibility before looking at
the importance of drug compatibility and limitations of guides following the administration of Y
site infusion in pain management of pediatrics. Literature Search The search terms used on

Shepard Fairey s Obey Campaign Analysis

Back to Black. This term, made popular by Amy Winehouse, refers to one going back to what is
familiar but not necessarily good for them. In Amy s case, her safe haven was cocaine after her
boyfriend introduced the drug to her and repeatedly left her for his former girlfriend. In the 2016
Academy Award winning documentary, Amy (2016), Director Asif Kapadia uses footage of Amy
Winehouses life and career to argue the adversities and the downfall that addiction ultimately leads
to.

alcohol addictions, as well as her eating disorder. Without the dependence that she had on these
substances and her bulimia, Winehouse could quite possibly still be alive and be performing
today. Another aspect that could be critiqued is her relationship with Blake Fielder Civil. Amy
was quite obviously obsessed and in love with Blake. However, he was the one that introduced her
to crack cocaine and heroin, factors contributing to her weak health. In addition, he constantly
contradicted Amy s attempts to rehabilitate, leading her on a downhill path. Yet, if Amy
Winehouse was to never have met Blake Fielder Civil, her music would, without a doubt, have

Contestants In Survivor Psychology
The television show Survivor focuses on a group of strangers in an isolated location, where they

contestants, also known as the jury. Contestants are voted off at tribal council, but have the chance
to be immune from the vote through immunity challenges. Contestants in Survivor are affected
physically, psychologically, and emotionally by things they can and can t control. For example,

The producers use the disparities in age to create drama and keep their viewers entertained.
In Survivor, the players are constantly under a great amount of stress. The different types of
stress can have a huge impact on how they end up playing the game. For example, physical
stressors, such as food deprivation, also alter psychological factors such as motivation and
irritability, and can increase impulsive and aggressive behavior (Gerrig 75). In other words, the
toll of physical stress can lead to more aggressive and more impulsive players as well as affecting
the players moods. Throughout every episode there is some form of aggression. Wilson found four
different types of aggression and labelled them as, theft, verbal aggression, minor aggression, and
deceit (9). He defines each type of aggression, saying,
Theft was defined as taking the property of another person without the owner s consent or
knowledge (e.g., robbery, burglary, and larceny). Verbal aggression was any nonphysical act that
places another under duress with the intention to pressure, constrain, or persuade in a noxious
manner (e.g., extortion, coercion, threats, abridgment of privacy, and harassment). Verbal
aggression was any hostile remark meant to diminish another s self image or cause psychological
harm. Minor aggression was any physical aggression resulting in minor harm or no harm to another,
including acts like slapping, punching, and kicking. Deceit was purposely misleading another

Mexico Poverty
According to a 2015 study by The Organization for Economic Corporation and Development,
Mexico has one of the highest rates of income inequality in the world which inevitably leads to a
sharp contrast among living conditions, agency, and power between the rich and the poor.
Mexican society has been stratified since the Mexican revolution. The goals of the Mexican
revolution were to disperse wealth but the policies enacted made it difficult to make a living in a
rural setting thus serving as a catalyst for a mass emigration to cities where people were could only
find shelter in the slums
(https://history.libraries.wsu.edu/spring2016/2016/01/20/the poverty and social stratification in
mexico/). After watching the documentary about the One Child Policy in China, a common theme
appears to be that the poorest and most marginalized seem to be those living in rural societies. This
is most likely because generally speaking, the poor are the least educated simply because they
cannot afford it thus resulting in having to hold laborious jobs such as those in agriculture.
The distribution of wealth in Mexico is perhaps the leading cause for the social inequality so
prominent in the country. For the past 25 years the gap between the rich and poor has been steadily
increasing. According to the WEA the top 1% of Mexico s distribution has an average annual
income 47 times that of the poorest 1% (https://www.worldeconomicsassociation.org

  • 2. First Solar, Inc. First Solar, Inc. located in Huntington Beach is a design and manufacturing company found in 1999 who produce photovoltaic modules, or solar panels, through the use of thin film semiconductors (Reuters, para 2). The company however, has a much earlier history than scribed. In 1984, inventor and owner of Solar Cells, Inc Harold McMaster manufactured solar cells from silicon (energyandcapital, para 2). However, as silicon became more expensive, McMaster decided to switch to cadmium telluride. This material was far more inexpensive than silicon which would eventually lead the company to thrive. So it thrived, as in 1999 the company was purchased by True North Partners, LLC and was named First Solar, Inc (energyandcapital, para 10). First Solar is the first solar company to flourish and create new solar innovations. Such as, producing 1 GW of solar electricity in a single year, breaking the one dollar per watt manufacturing overhead cost, and creating a photovoltaic modulerecycling program (FirstSolar, para 2). To put that into perspective clean technica explains that, 1GW of solar power can power up to 750,000 homes and about 2 coal fired power plants (Shahan, para 2). To evaluate whether First Solar is a smart investment decision, we will first take a look at growth profitability of the company along with the corporate responsibility the company holds. We will also take into consideration energy efficiency as well as their support services. Based upon these factors a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In addition to its flexibility, these databases provides horizontal scalability and distributed computing that led to adoption of NoSQL databases in the firms. The SQL databases uses Structured Query Language whereas NOSQL databases use Unstructured Query Language which varies from database to database. 1.2 Features of NoSQL Databases: Schema on Read: There is no definite schema on the underlying data in the databases and it leads to high flexibility on the storage Nonrelational: In traditional databases there are relations between the tables. For example, a list of transaction details can be connected to a separate list of delivery details. With a NoSQL database, this information is stored as an aggregate a single record with everything about the transaction, including the delivery address Commodity hardware: With a NoSQL database, cheap commodity hardware can be used. Adding more of these cheap servers allows NoSQL databases to scale to handle more data. Highly distributable: With a NoSQL database, a cluster of servers can be used to hold a single large database 2. Different Types of NOSQL databases There are many types of non relational databases but more often than not, they fall under one of the following categories: 2.1 Document Model In a document model, data is stored in documents. Samuel had worked for Mr. Marin for 10 years, and had never once been told thank you. The closest he ever got was a grunt when the morning coffee he prepared wasn t warm enough or the tax receipts weren t in two weeks in advance. After months of intolerable lecturing, Samuel decided that on the 10th anniversary of his joining the firm, he would stab his boss. The plan was simple. Too simple. As he was entering his office, he turned his eye to Samuel and sneered, I need to talk to you after lunch. Samuel nodded, noticing the pause in the surrounding staff, which indicated that they had heard his remark. At twelve, Samuel packed his briefcase and walked over to the reception, alerting Miranda that he would be leaving for lunch and would be back at one. Miranda nodded, disinterested. Samuel then walked to the fire escape, however that day, instead of beginning his descent, he placed his briefcase in the inside of the door and headed towards Mr. Marin s office. Closing his fist tightly, Samuel raised his trembling limb and lightly knocked on the wooden office door, one, two, three times. No answer, but he didn t exactly expect one. Silently, Samuel reached for the metal doorknob, around which he had carefully wrapped a handkerchief. He wasn t going to leave any fingerprints behind. • 7. The Death Toll Of Haiti It was typical late afternoon in Haiti capital of Port au Prince. People were strolling the streets, and local vendors were selling various goods at the Port au Prince historic Iron Market. Then at 4:53 pm on January 12, 2010 a 7.0 magnitude hit Haiti. Haiti had not seen a major earthquake like this in almost 200 years. People scrambled through the streets as the ground roared knocking down huge stone and brick building onto the streets of Port au Prince. An eyewitness describes the moment that the earthquakehit, The earth screamed; a sound of thunder that came from its belly as it violently shook the plants, the car, the walls, the pavement that I stood on. I called out to everyone to walk out of the house quickly. It seemed like a long, long time. Then silence. Then screams from some of the residents of the rural neighborhood (Clesca, 2010). This would be one of the deadliest earthquake of our generation. The estimated death toll was 316,000 deaths, and over 3 million people were displaced by the earthquake. Many people died when their dwelling collapsed and they were trapped under the rumble. People also died from falling objects, such as large building materials. This earthquake will ultimately change the structured of Haiti and leave many residents asking, who is responsible for the huge loss of life? As I have mention above, Haiti has not been hit by a major earthquake since the 18th century. Geologists first believed that Caribbean tectonic plates were responsible ... I got the opportunity to visit Green Bay on two occasions, once with my cousin Michaela Haas, who has graduated from Green Bay, and once during your Music and Art Open House on March 2 earlier this year. I have witnessed the overwhelmingly expansive music program which Green Bay has to offer and I feel as if this is a place where I can succeed and achieve my musical potential. His rise in politics and higher echelons of power was due to his mysteriously sharp mind coupled with cunning desire to be on the top of the national politics. Pakistan could fulfil their wish by taking Kashmir and China would grab entire North East to come closure to Indian Ocean. Gender Stereotypes In The Sitcom American Dad American Dad is an animated TV sitcom created by Seth MacFarlane, Mike Barker, and Matt Weitzman to characterize the different members of an american family. MacFarlane and his colleagues put a twist on the average family by exaggerating each member s role. The main characters in the series are Stan Smith who plays the father, Francine Smith playing the mother, Roger who is an alien and must disguise himself to keep from being noticed, Steve Smith who is the son, Hayley Smith the liberal daughter, and Klaus Heissler who plays a german olympic ski jumper trapped in the form of a fish. Stan was so focused on his truck meanwhile Francine was focused on what would help the entire household. The last example that I pulled from this episode about women was when the daughter, Hayley Smith was talking to Klaus about convincing her father to turn him back into a human. Klaus was upset with her for stating her opinion because she is a female and she is a liberal therefore, anything that she says to her father will not be considered. • 15. Top Reasons Why Branding Is Important Question One A: Using your own words, summarize the seven reasons why branding is important. 1.Strong Brands Protect the Consumer Brands have always served as sort of an emblem to consumers, that there would be a certain quality associated with that symbol. There are still many many popular brands today that are able to be distinguished but, brands are standing out among the rest by gaining a strong positive reputation which far exceeds the quality of there product. Brands ensure that they will provide consumers with a standard quality, and if they fail to do so their reputation is tarnished. Brands fight for our money ever day and try to stand out by focusing more on innovation to one up the competition. Brands also largely battle with price, which is a large part in the consumer decision. The brand and quality must be worth it otherwise customers will be lost to the competition. Brands protect their consumers simply because they provide an innovative product that differs from the competitions product. At the same time, they are ensuring that the quality is worth an appropriate price. This creates a strong and loyal customer base that will surely build the brand a positive reputation. 2.Strong Brands Drive Share Performance Powerful market performance has been proven to advance multiple components including the shareholders, the company itself, and pensions. • 16. Analysis Of Jean Cocteau s Version Of Beauty And The Beast When raising children, it is necessary to understand how to navigate their questions on life in a manner that is both appropriate for their age, yet is acceptable in their eyes in terms of an actual answer. According to Bruno Bettelheim, fairy tales are told to children as a way to allow them to symbolically address issues and challenges they might face. These fairy tales employ the use of characters and plots that children can place themselves in, thus allowing them to identify with the situation described. However, over time, some adaptions of the fairy tales differ from their subject matter. Jean Cocteau s version of Beauty and the Beastdiffers from Walt Disney s version, as it retains many of the theories that the Disney version omitted. Jean Cocteau s version and Disney s versions of Beauty and the Beast differ in their message by changing aspects of the symbolism and characters personalities. According to Bruno Bettleheim, children face many difficulties while growing up, and need a way to understand all the complexities of life. However, they are also too young too be told the unabridged truths that life holds. Bettleheim then concluded that fairy tales and other stories were able to communicate these ideas to children through simplistic characters and situations that they could understand. He theorized that by expressing these stories to children on the conscious level, their unconsciousness would be able to process these stories, and allow them to understand the ... According to Carl Rollyson the Proclamation was not intended for the slave, blacks, or former slaves. The Emancipation Proclamation speech was during the Antislavery Movement or what some people call the Abolitionist Movement, during the 1860 s. The main leaders of the abolitionist movement were Abraham Lincolnand Fredrick Douglas. The point of Lincoln writing the speech about emancipating the slaves was to free the slaves and win the civil war. Lincoln had written a speech titled The Emancipation Proclamation. Lincoln had many purposes of writing the speech about the emancipation of the slaves. Lincoln most likely had many reasons to write this speech, but there was one main reason that stood out the most to Veronica Majerol. Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation to transform the nature of the Civil War such as, helping the Union secure victory in the Civil Car. In addition, it had freed the slaves in all of the confederate states but not in the Union states because he did not want to lose his support in the northern states. If Lincoln would have freed the slaves in the entire United States of America he would have lost all of his supporters in the north that had slaves. In addition he would have lost the civil war because of his lack of troops. It authorized the enlistment of free blocks for armed service, free slaves from farms (Majerol). Therefore, Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation because he wanted the support of the blacks so that they could join and help them win the Civil War. Moxon Browne discusses first Whyte s unbiased approach and dedication to the North Ireland Conflicts. He emphasizes that Whyte had spent his entire life dedicated to researching and summarizing the problems and solutions in the North Irelandconflict. Moxon Browne goes on to cover Whyte s interpretations and understanding of the topic. Controversy swarms this topic because many believe partition to be an inherently evil British concept, along with it being one of the main causes for an escalated North Ireland conflict. John Whyte covered this topic using the Organizational Process method. When Britain decided to return Ireland to a state of Home Rule, the Ulster unionist backlash was huge. Faced with a crisis, Ireland s officials were slow to act. Britain stepped in to try to hastily resolve the conflict. British parliament proceeded to view the conflict along pre established nationality lines of Catholic nationalists and Protestant unionists. Parliament ignored the fact that many Protestant unionists were not organized or firm on their position against Home Rule. Britain did not understand that Protestant unionists were able to be coerced or appeased without partition. Britain also chose to partition because it was one of the first solutions presented, one that they were quick to use in foreign affairs. They failed to realize that countries like India and Palestine were thrown into decades of turmoil because Britain or Britain s allies chose to partition the countries. Partition was also one of the resource efficient ways of calming down the Irish. After entering WWI, British attention was not fully focused on the North Ireland conflict. There are many factors in using language such as: regional, ethic, and class backgrounds; gender; and age (Tannen 214). Deborah Tannen How Male and Female Students Use Language differently elaborates on this topic adequately. Tannen elaborates male and femalelanguagepatterns, the debate type teaching formats used in college classrooms, and the different male and female attitudes toward vocal expressions exercises used in the classroom that creates a dissatisfying environment for females. Ms. Tannen mainly focuses on the languages differences of men and women. She concludes that different classroom strategies need to be studied and applied in order to accentuate and improve student participation in the classroom from both males and females. • 21. The Intertropical Convergence Zone Plays a Large Role in... The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) is a permanent low pressure feature that lies on the meteorological equator. It is characterisied by lots of cloud cover and precipitation (Andrews et al., 2003). The ITCZ plays a significant role in the climate and weather events in the tropics. The clouds created by the ITCZ also provide an important form of albedo in the tropics (Waliser and Gautier, 1993),which has an effect on global climate. Tropical events such as monsoonand cyclones occur in the ITCZ and are products of the unique convection system found around the ITCZ (Yancheva et al., 2007, Ferreira and Schubert, 1997).The ITCZ is a product of humid trade winds from the northern and southern hemisphere converging and then rising. This rising of humid air usually results in precipitationover the tropics(Waliser and Somerville, 1994). This rising of the humid air acts as the driving force in the Hadley Cell (Waliser and Somerville, 1994). The ITCZ is a product of high levels of solar radiation and high amounts of latent heat released from the ocean (Andrews et al., 2003). It is important to realize that the ITCZ moves throughout the year depending on the seasons, it is likely to be found in the southern hemisphere in the southern hemisphere summer and in the northern hemisphere during the northern hemispheres summer. However the ITCZ is more likely to be found in the Northern hemisphere (Waliser and Somerville, 1994). The ITCZ plays a large role in many of the climatic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These measures have face validity since these are common violent crimethat large cities have. The database used is a valid way to estimate crime, but also does have limitations. The actual style of policing the foot patrols did vary from community oriented to proactive policing. Ratcliffe et al,. (2011) sampled more than 200 foot patrol officers and used geographic information systems (GIS) to create randomized controls for crime hotspots. Previous studies had lacked this GIS technology, which could be a reason for different results. Results showed significant reduction of violent crime in the experimental group after 12 weeks, and when including the control group there were 53 violent crimes that were prevented. Contradicting previous findings this showed that foot patrols are actually effective in preventing violent crime in crime hotspots. When differences in the starting level of violent crime were accounted for there was no significant differences in treatment and control areas. The unit of analysis was the Voronoi network which consists of areal units. There were 120 foot patrols found which the police would have patrols in 16 hours a day, 5 days a week, and used officers recently out of the academy. The following plans are imperative in any environment. There are many things that will happen and Incident Command System (ICS) will help to provide the responders with an effective system that works. But before we go into the structures, an understanding of an incident command systemneeds to be addressed. According to OSHA, n.d., ICS is a standardized on scene incident managementconcept designed specifically to allow responders to adopt an integrated organizational structure equal to the complexity and demands of any single incident or multiple incidents without being hindered by jurisdictional boundaries . ICS is a sub model of the National Incident Management System(NIMS), as released by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in 2004. An incident command system is referenced to an adaptable, scalable response association which provides a general agenda where people can work side by side efficiently. These people may come from many different agencies that do not normally work together, and an incident command system is intended to give regular response and operation procedures to decrease the troubles and possibility for miscommunication on such incidents. This game has been of great interest to mathematicians around the world since its introduction, including Martin Gardner who explores it in chapter eight of his first Scientific American Book of Mathematical Puzzles and Games (1959). The game is normally played on a board of 11x11 hexagons with two edges labelled black and the other two labelled white. It is a two person game in which both players (using black and white counters) attempt to create a chain connecting both of their respective sides of the board. This knowledge will hopefully allow the player to place ladder escapes (discussed later in the chapter), which will more often than not result in winning positions for the attacking player. The most common ladder formation, the bottleneck, is one that all players should familiarize themselves with. This occurs when there is a gap in between two defensive counters, and the attacking player must place a counter in that gap, which ultimately forces a ladder like the one depicted in figure one on the left. At this point, it would be wise to place an escape in the third row, to the left of where the ladder is about to form. The reasoning behind this is that the defending player now has to deal with a ladder escape and a possible connection to counters at the top of the board in C2, D3, and E4. All things considered, an ideal placement for the ladder escape would be C9. Figure two shows the placement of the red counter on C9 and the computer s response in A10. Can you now determine a placement that would secure a win for the red player?Ladder escapes, as hinted to in the previous two paragraphs, are of vital importance with regards to ladders and the successful formation of a connection to the edge. Without the use of them, ladders would continue to extend until reaching an edge and ultimately a victory for the player on the defensive side of the ladder. The life of the artist too underwent change and struggled with the hierarchy that existed to validate artistic triumph. Changes are apparent amongst a broad spectrum, including David, Ingres, history paintings and caricatures. The painting is deemed a revolution in itself. The colors blend together so much that the painting is better understood from farther away than up close. The unthinkable prophetic acts that God commanded for Ezekiel to perform throughout his ministry were meant to be sensational scenes that demonstrated what was to come for the Israelites. Ezekiel, illustrating the siege of Jerusalem was one of the first prophetic acts God required Ezekiel to complete. God commanded Ezekiel to create a miniature version of an invading army camped around Jerusalemand then place an iron plate between himself and Jerusalem. Ezekiel, while lying on the left side of his body for three hundred ninety days, represented the number of years that Israel was punished, and then lying on his right side for forty days, represented the number of years that Judah was punished. Ezekiel had to portion out water and grain cake, which he was supposed to cook on human manure to demonstrate the unclean bread that Israel would soon eat, but Ezekiel refused as cooking on human manure disobeyed God s dietary laws. Therefore, God compromised with Ezekiel and allowed him to prepare the food on animal manure instead. Ezekiel, portraying the siege of Jerusalemwas just the beginning of what God required Ezekiel to do in order to illustrate the suffering that the Israelites were about to experience due to their unfaithfulness. With a moral base unlike most of the movies released at the time, TLK placed a children s facade on a very serious story of responsibility and revenge. However, some have attempted to theorize that Hamlet s delay is due to his mental instability, his madness over the death of his father. Eliot refutes this, calling the characterization a simple ruse, and to the end, we may assume, understood as a ruse to the audience (62). Simba exhibits this same behavior, venting his feelings in mournful retaliation against responsibility, most notably when his childhood friend Nala attempts to persuade his to return to the Pride Lands. This delay between our characters adds a more haunting effect between the two works. It s surprising that today s audiences can be so moved by themes that were first implemented in literature almost four hundred years before. Similarly, the characters of Hamlet Sr. and Mufasa bear a striking resemblance to one another, not only in their actions, but their meanings as well. Many people thought that he was crazy for this. However, his plan worked. Athens achieved victory and broke up the Persian navy, destroying nearly 200 ships. After this strategy was victorious, Themistocles was declared a militaristic genius. Themistocles was raised poor, with no typical aristocratic upbringing. He was nothing special, just a typical Athenian citizen. He wasn t born into a rich, popular family. He simply worked with what he had available to him at the time. Historical forces were not mysteriously working away in his mind, giving him direction, inspiring him to be brilliant. He strategized on his own, and came up with a plan that saved Athens from being pulverized by the Persian army. In 447 BCE, Pericles promoted a massive reconstruction plan on a part of Athens that the Persians had destroyed in their savage of the city state. He proposed the building of the Parthenon on the remains of an earlier temple on the Acropolis. The proposal of the Parthenon pleased the citizens of Athens because it was a celebration of Athenians achievements. It also pleased them because it served as a place of worship to the goddess Athena. Except for the timber roof supports, the entire Parthenon was built with marble from the quarries of Mt. But to anyone who s actually ridden or has a passion for horses, you know that there are two distinctive styles of riding English and Western. There are both similarities and differences between the two types of riding. Regardless of the style of riding people participate in or favor, each world of riding opens up various activities for the rider to enjoy. The most obvious difference between English and Western ridingis the tack itself. Most people associate Western riding with cowboys and herding cattle. For example, English style horses tend to be taller and many are leggy, aiding their ability to travel over long distances at a variety of speeds as well as jump over a variety of obstacles (Blocksdorf 2016). Western horses and stockier and they tend to be shorter than English horses. Western horses tend to be compact and capable of steady travel all day with small bursts of speed to chase stray cattle (Blocksdorf 2016). Of course, a Quarter horse can participate in the English discipline, and a Dutch Warmblood could participate in reining, but those breeds are usually specifically bred for either English or Western disciplines. A similarity between English and Western riding is the posture. Both types of riding require the rider to sit up straight in the saddle and have their heels down. Comfortably and securely sitting in the saddle requires you to keep your hands down, tuck your elbows in, and push your shoulders back. Good posture in the saddle is essential to riding correctly. For example, A balanced rider is able to maintain this center of balance through all paces. I call this the independent riding posture . Christine Comaford wrote The Value of Valuing Employees discussing the importance of valuing each employee and discussing six specific pitfalls leaders portray when it comes to valuing employees. The pitfalls include, failing to respond to employee emails, failing to provide feedback positive or negative, acknowledging people only when they make mistakes, failing to celebrate victories, showing favoritism, and burning out employees. Committing pitfalls in leadership The first pitfall Comaford (2013) discusses is Failing to Respond to Employee Emails . This pitfall is essentially not making enough time to respond and /or not responding quickly enough to employees, specifically in emails. By not responding to your employees email in a timely manner, or simply not responding at all makes the employees mind panic and the employee begin to question themselves and their importance in the company. Makeup Of Makeup Samuel Pepys did make note of the heavy makeup used by Nell Gwynne and her co worker Mrs. Knepp on stage, and how frightful he found it, so it is likely that even if makeup, in general, had an artificial look, stage makeup went a few steps further. Red cheeks connoted youthfulness and health, yellow cheeks age and illness. The eyes were outlined with black and shaded with colored pigment, blue being quite popular. Hair powder was used on the stage as well, and the color of it could be used either to compliment the actor or actress s look, or be chosen to suit the character they played. False facial hair was another means to change an actor s look. Makeup in the 17th and 18th century was quite simple, but with a very artificial look. The ideal, for both men and women, was a pale face, enhanced with cosmetics aimed to lighten the complexion or with white makeup. As with the lips, there is no real evidence that brows were blotted out and repainted higher up on the brow, though that may have happened in the theatre for effect. Patches were very popular throughout both the 17th and 18th century, most commonly round and black made out of taffeta, velvet or paper, but larger and more elaborate shapes were also in use (Samuel Pepysdiary). Mexican society has been stratified since the Mexican revolution. The goals of the Mexican revolution were to disperse wealth but the policies enacted made it difficult to make a living in a rural setting thus serving as a catalyst for a mass emigration to cities where people were could only find shelter in the slums (https://history.libraries.wsu.edu/spring2016/2016/01/20/the poverty and social stratification in mexico/).
