Background information
Into my artist
1) The song ‘you don’t know me’ is written by my artist
not by someone else working for the Liberty records.
My artist expresses how she feels about society and
conforms to these expectations in her lyrics and video
narratives. My artist represents different groups in
society representation through the media for example.
My artist uses this to enthuse her into writing lyrics
about how she feels about these representations. Her
feelings are portrayed through her lyrics and video
narrative. In ‘you don’t know me’ she reinforces these
stereotypes, however at the end the stereotypes are all
subverted by a spin to the narrative. This makes it
apparent that all the stereotypes and
misrepresentation influential institutes such as the
media have are wrong and need to end as the
consequences on the target is damaging emotionally.
As a result of this the generation used as scapegoats
will become resentful and may end up conforming. My
narrative overcomes these prejudices.
2) My artist has not personally gone through the exact
situation in the narrative. However the emotions
behind the narrative and lyrics she has. The main
theme is loneliness, my artist has gone through this
emotion similar to the target audience. My artist writes
these songs to make her audience (age group) feel
apart of a wider group and not to feel alone or isolated,
as they will realize this through the song and video.
Artist background:
1) My artist had a passion for singing since a young
child. She is inspired by people’s life experiences
and takes inspiration from this when writing her
lyrics.
2) In high school she started posting videos on
Youtube and Soundcloud, through this she gained a
fan base.
3) The songs she creates are deeply personal as well
as they convey her emotions and judgment on
things, this is portrayed through her vocals, lyrics
and narratives.
4) My artist started recreating songs from bigger artist
and posted these on social medias such as
Soundcloud.
5) Also she took part in small gigs that was unpaid, she
did it as a hobby to begin with.
