1.3 PERTIDAKSAMAAN
LINEAR
PERTIDAKSAMAAN adalah kalimat yang
mengandung tanda atau notasi < (lebih
kecil), > (lebih besar), ≤ ( lebih kecil atau
sama dengan) atau ≥ (lebih besar atau
sama dengan).
Contoh 1: Gambarlah pertidaksamaan berikut pada
garis bilangan
a. X < 2 c. x > 2
b. x ≤ 2 d. x ≥ 2
SIFAT-SIFAT PERTIDAKSAMAAN
1. Menambah dan mengurang suatu pertidaksamaan
Pertidaksamaan dapat ditambah atau dikurang dengan suatu bilangan atau
bilangan aljabar. Penambahan tersebut tidak mempengaruhi nilai atau tanda
pertidaksamaan asal ruas-ruas pada pertidaksamaan sama-sama ditambah atau
sama-sama dikurang.
 Jika a > b maka a + c > b + c
 Jika a < b maka a + c < b + c
 Jika a > b maka a – c > b – c
 Jika a < b maka a – c < b - c
Contoh 2: Tentukanlah penyelesaian
dari:
a. x – 1 < 3 b. 3x – 4 > 2x + 5 c. -2 ≤ x + 4 ≤ 5
2. Mengalikan bilangan terhadap
pertidaksamaan
Jika suatu bilangan dikalikan terhadap pertidaksamaan maka
hasilnya tergantung kepada bilangan pengali tersebut. Jika
pengali lebih besar nol maka tanda pertidaksamaan tidak
berubah, sedangkan jika pengali lebih kecil nol maka tanda
pertidaksamaan berubah atau dibalik.
 Jika a > b dan c > 0 maka ac > bc
 Jika a > b dan c < 0 maka ac < bc
 Jika a < b dan c > 0 maka ac < bc
 Jika a < b dan c < 0 maka ac > bc
Contoh 3 : Tentukan penyelesaian
dari :

4. Penggabungan dua pertidaksamaan
Ada dua jenis penggabungan pertidaksamaan, yaitu penggabungan dengan kata “ATAU”
dan penggabungan dengan kata “DAN”. Jika dua pertidaksamaan digabung dengan kata
“ATAU” maka kedua pertidaksamaan sama – sama berlaku. Jika dua pertidaksamaan
digabung dengan kata “DAN” maka hasil gabungannya adalah irisan kedua
pertidaksamaan tersebut.
Contoh 6: Gambarlah daerah yang memenuhi pada garis bilangan untuk penggabungan
pertidaksamaan berikut ini!

Contoh penyelesaian masalah
Untuk diterima di Sekolah SMA Muhammadiyah 11 Jakarta, seorang calon murid
harus mengikuti 4 kali tes dan total nilai tes tidak boleh kurang dari 360. Misal
seseorang telah mengikuti 3 kali tes dengan nilai 87, 95, 92. Berapakah nilai paling
rendah tes ke empat agar orang tersebut di terima di sekolah SMA Muhammadiyah
11 Jakarta?

  • 6. PERTIDAKSAMAAN adalah kalimat yang mengandung tanda atau notasi < (lebih kecil), > (lebih besar), ≤ ( lebih kecil atau sama dengan) atau ≥ (lebih besar atau sama dengan).

  • 8. SIFAT-SIFAT PERTIDAKSAMAAN 1. Menambah dan mengurang suatu pertidaksamaan Pertidaksamaan dapat ditambah atau dikurang dengan suatu bilangan atau bilangan aljabar. Penambahan tersebut tidak mempengaruhi nilai atau tanda pertidaksamaan asal ruas-ruas pada pertidaksamaan sama-sama ditambah atau sama-sama dikurang.  Jika a > b maka a + c > b + c  Jika a < b maka a + c < b + c  Jika a > b maka a – c > b – c  Jika a < b maka a – c < b - c

  • 10. 2. Mengalikan bilangan terhadap pertidaksamaan Jika suatu bilangan dikalikan terhadap pertidaksamaan maka hasilnya tergantung kepada bilangan pengali tersebut. Jika pengali lebih besar nol maka tanda pertidaksamaan tidak berubah, sedangkan jika pengali lebih kecil nol maka tanda pertidaksamaan berubah atau dibalik.  Jika a > b dan c > 0 maka ac > bc  Jika a > b dan c < 0 maka ac < bc  Jika a < b dan c > 0 maka ac < bc  Jika a < b dan c < 0 maka ac > bc

  • 13. 4. Penggabungan dua pertidaksamaan Ada dua jenis penggabungan pertidaksamaan, yaitu penggabungan dengan kata “ATAU” dan penggabungan dengan kata “DAN”. Jika dua pertidaksamaan digabung dengan kata “ATAU” maka kedua pertidaksamaan sama – sama berlaku. Jika dua pertidaksamaan digabung dengan kata “DAN” maka hasil gabungannya adalah irisan kedua pertidaksamaan tersebut.   • 16. Contoh penyelesaian masalah Untuk diterima di Sekolah SMA Muhammadiyah 11 Jakarta, seorang calon murid harus mengikuti 4 kali tes dan total nilai tes tidak boleh kurang dari 360. Misal seseorang telah mengikuti 3 kali tes dengan nilai 87, 95, 92. Berapakah nilai paling rendah tes ke empat agar orang tersebut di terima di sekolah SMA Muhammadiyah 11 Jakarta?
