David Long Keynote on Beyond MBSE Looking Towards the Next Evolution in Syste...EnergyTech2015
For almost ten years, the systems engineering community has been focused on the transformation from document-centric to model- based techniques. While most sys- tems engineering organizations have completed pilot efforts, estab- lished appropriate communities of practice, and are plotting their path forward, this transformation is far from complete. In terms of the Roger’s innovation adoption lifecy- cle, we are beyond the early adopt- ers, in the early majority, and mov- ing towards the tipping point where model-based systems engineering becomes the expected framework and approach for systems engineering. Systems engineering remains a young discipline – one that must con- tinue to learn and evolve, one where transitions should be viewed as way- points along a journey rather than
destinations themselves. As we make the journey to model-based, how must we also adapt and evolve the greater practice of systems engineering in a world dominated by cyber-physical systems with the inherent opportunities, risks, and vulnerabilities they bring? What is the next evolution required to ad- dress next generation problems and deliver the organizational value required? What can we begin doing today, even in the continued implementation and adoption of MBSE, to prepare ourselves and our organizations to make that transition? Looking at the journey to date and the opportunities in the future, how can wecharacterizethenextlegofthe journey and plot a path forward for ourselves, our organizations, and the greater systems engineering practice?
Hold your breath, you ain't seen nothing yet. Technology is progressing at a breathtaking pace. It changes the competitive landscape, the rules of the game. It challenges us with lifestyle and ethical decisions. It can be friend or foe.
Obstacle Driven Development is the result of combining various engineering methods and is a new approach to engineering.
ODD combines Test Driven Development with V-models and extends throughout the development process. Other aspects such as safety critical requirements analysis, software design and Agile principles are adapted.
This updated presentation demonstrates how ODD extends and combines V-model development into an M-model. Introduced is the concept of inverted V-models to create N and M-models.

know it is an information technology course however I don’t have the interest to talk about technology for example introducing a software however my interest more roles to history and facts. That is why I chose my topic “ the history of communication”. My topic is consisted on 6 main points. The first point in my presentation is defining the term communication in which people can relate to or find it simpler to absorb. Secondly I have listed communication types followed by communication tools. Concluding the presentation into 3 points and displaying my bibliography of my previous research’s sources. The “Questions” template is the last slide and that’s is to allow the students to ask me any question they want to know more.
I used for my presentation the classic Microsoft PowerPoint software. I didn’t want to complicate things or introduce the topic it artistically. I believe a topic can reach people by its simplicity and highlights. I think my topic is useful to ZU student in which it presents new information they can add to their background around communication history.

In a May 9, 2024 paper, Juri Opitz from the University of Zurich, along with Shira Wein and Nathan Schneider form Georgetown University, discussed the importance of linguistic expertise in natural language processing (NLP) in an era dominated by large language models (LLMs).
The authors explained that while machine translation (MT) previously relied heavily on linguists, the landscape has shifted. “Linguistics is no longer front and center in the way we build NLP systems,” they said. With the emergence of LLMs, which can generate fluent text without the need for specialized modules to handle grammar or semantic coherence, the need for linguistic expertise in NLP is being questioned.

Welcome to the new Mizzima Weekly !
Mizzima Media Group is pleased to announce the relaunch of Mizzima Weekly. Mizzima is dedicated to helping our readers and viewers keep up to date on the latest developments in Myanmar and related to Myanmar by offering analysis and insight into the subjects that matter. Our websites and our social media channels provide readers and viewers with up-to-the-minute and up-to-date news, which we don’t necessarily need to replicate in our Mizzima Weekly magazine. But where we see a gap is in providing more analysis, insight and in-depth coverage of Myanmar, that is of particular interest to a range of readers.
