Distributes a series of monthly grants to projects and
creators
Provides grants with no strings attached

Increase number of applicants

A SOCIAL COMPETITION
WHAT IT IS
• Instead of the standard 1000 grant we would launch a
social campaign to find big ideas that need a little extra
• Chapters join forces, and deliver a special 20,000
dollar grant
• Idea must exemplify extra big and awesome thinking
HOW TO APPLY
Either through the standard
process
Or through social media
HOW WILL THE MESSAGE STICK?
Through Social Blowupification*
We will reach out to influencers on Instagram, Twitter,
Facebook, and Vine, and Youtube
Get the influencers to submit their ideas, and urge their
followers to do the same
*SOCIAL BLOWUPIFICATION IS THE STRATEGIZED APPROACH TO AMPLIFY THROUGH SOCIAL
FOLLOWERWONK
Use specific influencers to get viral initiation videos spread online
YouTube will be the media vehicle for shared successful
testimonials of past granted ideas

We won’t limit the social submissions to one platform
We let the submitters decide how they can promote their
idea the best
All posts will be hashtagged #xtraawersome, and will be
tracked
Winners will be chosen from the social and standard
submissions

Winners and runner-ups will
be announced at an event at
SXSW
Winners will be notified and
flown out to Austin, TX for the
festival
One grand prize winner, 5
standard grant winners

Awesome Foundation Interactive Campaign

  • 3. THE FOUNDATION Ever-growing, worldwide network devoted to finding and supporting the awesome of the universe. Started in Boston, 2009 Distributes a series of monthly grants to projects and creators Provides grants with no strings attached
  • 4. IT’S KIND OF AWESOME…
  • 5. GOALS Grow awareness for the foundation’s mission Increase number of applicants Establish new chapters
  • 8. WHAT IT IS • Instead of the standard 1000 grant we would launch a social campaign to find big ideas that need a little extra • Chapters join forces, and deliver a special 20,000 dollar grant • Idea must exemplify extra big and awesome thinking
  • 9. HOW TO APPLY Either through the standard process Or through social media
  • 10. HOW WILL THE MESSAGE STICK? Through Social Blowupification* We will reach out to influencers on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Vine, and Youtube Get the influencers to submit their ideas, and urge their followers to do the same *SOCIAL BLOWUPIFICATION IS THE STRATEGIZED APPROACH TO AMPLIFY THROUGH SOCIAL
  • 11. FOLLOWERWONK Use specific influencers to get viral initiation videos spread online YouTube will be the media vehicle for shared successful testimonials of past granted ideas
  • 12. 360 APPROACH We won’t limit the social submissions to one platform We let the submitters decide how they can promote their idea the best All posts will be hashtagged #xtraawersome, and will be tracked Winners will be chosen from the social and standard submissions
  • 13. SXSW A HUB FOR CREATIVE IDEAS
  • 14. THE WINNERS Winners and runner-ups will be announced at an event at SXSW Winners will be notified and flown out to Austin, TX for the festival One grand prize winner, 5 standard grant winners
  • 15. WHY THIS WORKS Increases the number of submissions Raises awareness of AF’s mission Creates buzz in the right circles, both online and at SXSW
