1. What kind of media
institution might
distribute your media
product and why?
By Charlotte Simcox
2. I think Pathé UK would be a good institution to distribute
my groups media product as they have major presence in
the United Kingdom. Looking at the work we have
produced it looks as if our opening would be part of a
British independent film so Pathé would work well.
3. Pathé are a successful fully integrated studio. They
operate in all aspects of film making.
They run through production, distribution and
development of international sales
Pathé would be good to distribute a British independent
film as its well known for its work.
Pathé are not part of a conglomerate, they are an
independent company as they do the production stage
as well as distribution. This means they can make any
films they want.
4. Pathé distribute all genres and have experience in
horror and thrillers.
Pathé were the UK distributor for the 2004 British
horror thriller ‘CREEP’. Creep is based on a woman
locked in the underground over night and is being
staked by a killer.
Creep was very successful and made
£1,728,375 in the UK box office.
5. Pathé UK are registered in England and wales. There
office is based in London.
Pathé films are distributed in the UK.
To distribute a film internationally they would need to
team up with other company's.
20th Century Fox Home Entertainment are an
international company that team up with smaller ones
like Pathé for distribution.
6. Pathé UK distribute there films through 20th Century
Fox Home Entertainment for VHS/DVD release.
20th Century Fox and Warner Bros release the films to
the cinema for public entertainment.
