With 80% of the audience saying
they would watch the film and the
final 20% saying they might. This is
encouraging for the trailer as people
are interested in watching based on
my planning.
The antagonist is the main element of our
film and if the character isn’t scary then
the trailer would not be conventional. With
this in mind I asked the audience their
opinion on if the character is scary or not
based on the planning. All of them
answered yes which is encouraging for the
trailer.
It is important that the audience can
believe or relate to the storyline. If they
don’t then the trailer will be unsuccessful.
I asked the audience if they thought the
storyline was believable and realistic,
80% said yes and 20% said no, this is
encouraging for the trailer.
By asking the audience if I need to improve
anything with the storyline, I will be able to
make the storyline more conventional and
attractive to audiences if required. They will
give more feedback and I could improve my
storyline. For example based on the feedback
I could include more protagonists and
emphasis the antagonist more.
I asked if people thought the title was a
good title for a horror film considering
many people remember titles and
associated them to characters; Psycho
(Norman Bates) and Nightmare on Elm
Street (Freddy Kruger). Based on
responses 100% said it was a good title
which is encouraging for viewership.
I asked the audience if they believed
the music box is scary and creepy as it
is an essential part of our film. Based on
results 60% said yes this is encouraging
as the majority would be affected by
the message conveyed to them. 40%
said maybe which is still encouraging as
they might feel like they will watch the
trailer to see the extent of their fear.
