The Syrian Electronic Army (SEA) is a hacker group responsible for cyber attacks against various media and communication platforms, claiming to defend the Syrian government. They have defaced or compromised numerous websites including major news outlets and social media platforms, sending false information and redirecting web traffic. Significant incidents include hijacking the Associated Press Twitter account in 2013 to spread false news about the White House, as well as hacking other platforms like LinkedIn, Viber, and Truecaller.
