Introduction

There have been many proposals to
optimize the student's attendance
management in educational fields.

In this presentation, a novel framework for
the attendance management is proposed;
– Using a mobile device and a web application
●
The system were operated in my class last
year and several feedbacks were collected,
which is reported in this presentation.

– Student's ID card and card reader system
– Near field communication (NFC) based system
– Barcode and similar coding based system
– Biometrics system
– One time password system
●
Problems:
– It makes long queue to register attendance
– It requires much expense to replace ID card
and/or implement the system

Problems of proposed system
●
The trial made clear that the use of this
system prevented from submitting
feedback comments from students.
●
Some students would like to interact with
the teacher by writing feedback comments
into the form paper.
●
Therefore, we need propose an application
which have a function for submitting both
of attendance information and feedback
comments.

Conclusions
●
There are many attendance management
systems, however, they are not fully
implemented in order to satisfy the needs
from teachers and students.
●
In this study, an prototype system was
proposed and was operated last year.
●
The result revealed several possibilities
and problems.
●
Now, I am planning to implement a new
system using Chameleon Code.
