This document outlines a lesson plan for teaching Suzanne Collins' book Mockingjay to a 12th grade Advanced Placement English class using the ASSURE instructional model. The class has 23 culturally diverse students aged 16-18 who have experience with various technologies. The objective is for 85% of students to accurately analyze and interpret quality writing by the end of the week. Students will use a wiki to reflect on robots they create from recycled materials to represent a theme from the book. The teacher will facilitate open discussion and ensure student participation is 15% of grades. Evaluation of lessons will help the teacher better meet the needs of this class.
