This class has 21 11th grade students, most of whom are Caucasian, with smaller numbers of African American and Asian students. No students have diagnosed learning disabilities or behavioral disorders. The objective is for students to learn about major World War II players and make an informed decision on whether the U.S. should have dropped atomic bombs on Japan. To achieve this, students will complete an interactive webquest using computers and various online sources, then present their findings and opinions to the class. Their work will be evaluated based on the presentation, webquest work submitted, and participation in the activity.
