Web 2.0 Tutorial
For this tutorial assignment we chose the website Live Binders. Live Binders is a website
that allows teachers and students to create an online 3-ring binder. Teachers can create binders
for students to submit their work. With this binder you can collect your resources, organize them
neatly and easily and make an impression.
Step 1: Open up your internet browser. After you open your browser you will need to type
http://www.livebinders.com in the address bar at the top of your screen and hit enter.
Step 2: After you have arrived at the desired website, you will need to create an account. Click
on the yellow tab in the middle of the screen that says “Sign up now – It’s free!”
2. Step 3: After the next page loads you will see a page like the one below. You will need to pick
a desired username, provide your email address, retype your email address, and choose a
password, and then retype your password. There will be options to receive notifications about
changes at LiveBinders and to be notified when people view your binders. You can click these
boxes if you choose. To complete the account process you will need to hit the “Sign up now- It’s
free!” button that is yellow.
Step 4: After you create an account you will be directed to your account homepage. On the left
hand side of the screen you will see a dashboard. To create a blank binder you will need to click
on the link that says “Start a Blank Binder”. It will be the first link under the dashboard.

“Create New Binder”. You will need to provide a desired name for your binder, a description of
the binder, if desired you can provide tags, the category of the binder, and if you want your
binder to be public or private. You will also need to make an “Access Key” you will give this
key to people when sharing your private binder. You will then click the button “ Create New
Binder”.
4. Step 6: You can also edit your binder the way you would like. At the top of the screen you can
select the “Edit Menu” button. You can also click on the sub link “Binder Properties”. In the
binder properties you can change your background color, set the default tab color, provide an
author name, and choose a color theme. Then you need to press the “update” button.
