1. 1-) During my high school years, I was the captain of the school volleyball team. I am quite
intovert person, so at thay time, I had a few diffuculties because of the belief of ‘’ leaders should
outstand in crowds,teams’’, I was so exhausted by this belief and was not seeing myself as a
good captain/leader of the team. Then, ı started to act differently in order to be a true leader, tried
to change my personality.
2-) The results of my decisions were not good at all. Since, I was acting, I couldnt handle the
situations naturally and I had communcation problems with my team. Sometimes, I got
feedbacks like ‘’ you are not listening to us, You are so active suddenly etc. In conclusion, my
team members started to listen me but I was feeling that they were not into my decisions or
trainings.
3-) The main reason behind is definetly my acting. I was completely a different person and they
sensed that I was not sincere since then. My new behaviours didn’t suit me and I coudnt
understand their problems which I was good at before. Simply, I lost my ability to empathy their
thoughts and emotions
4-) Recently, we learnt different leadership styles and how we cannot determine a certain
personality suits leadership. Moreover, we learnt how each leadership type has their own unique
style. Therefore, these learnings explain my situation clearly that I shouldnt have forced myself
to change my leadership style.
5-) I learnt from mistake that I need find my own way to change my weak areas, not to copy
paste others styles because there is not a single concept in Leadership. Every leader should
reflect on themselves efficiently and try to find their weak and strong traits. It also refers to in
every position at the workplace that we shouldnt define positions so strictly.
