Assignment 14
Gender – Connor Maynard
Women – In the video’s ‘Animal’ and ‘R U Crazy’ women
are shown and represented as sexy and attractive. For
example in the Animal video is keeps cutting to women
dancing and also in R U Crazy it shows scenes of women
in nice and revealing dresses as well as a women in
lingerie. So women are used to draw attention
(Objectification of Women)
Men – In Connor’s videos men apart from him are not
showed or filmed in depth but when they are, they are
represented as being stylish and smart. An example of
this is the picture at the beginning of the R U Crazy video
when everyone is in a suit and they’re playing in a band.
Age – Connor Maynard
Style – As you can see in the picture of Connor wearing the red cap he
is represented to be young and stylish. He’s wearing modern
headphones, and his style is quite in with that time and he is looking
stylish.
Social – As seen in the pictures it shows Connor socialising with friends
and hanging out in a group. All of the friends are quite stylish and
young like he is. This is quite stereotypical of the youth and younger
age groups as they are known to meet and hang out in groups of
friends.
Partying – In both ‘R U Crazy’ and ‘Can’t Say No’ there are a lot of
scenes where there are parties and young people enjoying themselves.
This is quite stereotypical of younger people and that age group
because they’re drinking and having fun at parties, this can be shown
through the shaky camera movements, slow motion effects and the
stylish and modern clothes that everyone is wearing.
