This document summarizes discussions from a workshop on evaluating the quality of science (QoS) in CGIAR research programs and centers. It presents an evaluation framework for assessing QoS, including dimensions like research design, outputs, and management processes. There are still open questions on how to assess complex systems science, attribute QoS at the CRP level given centers' roles, and develop common QoS indicators. Participants discussed revising the IEA's QoS framework to provide flexibility for different evaluation functions and address methodological challenges in assessing a diverse range of research disciplines. The conclusions call for further refining the framework and exploring outstanding issues to strengthen QoS evaluation across the CGIAR.
