On a path of going-towards-God, our one-point aim, intention, dedication and faith are the only valuable companions, nothing else. No rituals, no fastings, no Puja-Path, nothing is as important as our intentions, our lofty emotions. We cannot ask for the worldly pleasures as well as have Divinity on our side. The two are equal and opposite forces, and each one of us keeps fighting with these totally divergent forces all the life. In the bargain, we would be given all that is good for us in our life on this planet anyways. We stand to gain on both sides - external as well as internal, spiritual.
