This paper presents insights from the implementation of a mixed reality intervention using 3d printed physical objects and a mobile augmented reality application in an ICT networking classroom. The intervention aims to assist student understanding of complex theoretical multi-step problems without a corresponding real world physical analog model. This is important because these concepts are difficult to conceptualise without a corresponding mental model. The simulation works by using physical models to represent networking equipment and allows learners to build a network that can then be simulated using a mobile app to observe underlying packet traversal and routing theory between the different devices as data travels from the source to the destination. Outcomes from usability testing show great student interest in the intervention and a feeling that it helped with clarity, but also demonstrated the need to scaffold the use of the intervention for students rather than providing a freeform experience in the classroom.

This paper presents a research design and intervention that investigates how the use of mixed reality visualization and gamification can be applied to an ICT systems analysis and design course. The research focuses on a learning approach of an ICT modelling and design framework based on visual augmentation of traditional course content and class delivery. Assessment of the learning impact in regards to learners, system components and their interaction in system scenarios will be performed. Allowing learners to explore and discover information in the form of a gamified scavenger hunt that supports scaffolding learning chunks, aims to assist them towards a conceptual understanding of the solution. Educators can incorporate selected representations of key learning artefacts and resources in an augmented capacity using a variety of media such as 2d images, videos, animation, simulations, and 3d models applied into the design process and promote active learning in the classroom.

Feedback indicated our package successfully portrayed a commitment to music over glamour by representing the working class experience through both the video's setting and band's plain attire and graphics.

Our band's brand identity represents a fun and cheeky pop-rock genre. Throughout our music video and ancillary tasks like a magazine ad and digipak, we have maintained consistency in visual elements like costumes, props, and color palette to reinforce this brand image. Close-up shots of band members performing and having fun also convey the personality of our pop-rock group. Compared to a more serious band like The Killers, our products showcase our band members' lighthearted personalities through elements like a food fight narrative and casual costumes.

- 3. WHY WE CHOSE THIS We chose this as the band members costume for the shots filmed in the city for different reasons. The clothing displayed is the type we envision our target audience to wear when they are out, therefore we chose a similar costume so they could relate to the artists. Also by wearing casual clothing, it allows the band members to add their own/ independent flair to this. As well as this, it can work in our favour when it comes to filming and the ideas we have about the band and the narrative of the music video.
- 4. STUDIO COSTUME Bright, colourful ties/bowties worn by all the band members – Makes them smart but also quirky. Rough Jeans – Create very relaxed and comfortable look for the band. Casual suede/canvas e.g. Vans – Shows band as very trendy and contrasts smarter aspects of the costume. Shirt and suit jacket – Creates smart image and also unique from the conventional costume of casual t-shirts and jumpers.
- 5. WHY WE CHOSE THIS The other costume we are going to use for our artist is a mixture of both really smart and casual clothing. The shirt and jacket contrasts with the casual look from the skinny jeans and trainers/converse. This can add emphasis to the ‘independent’ and ‘hipster’ look which we are aiming for. This will create a more unique and original image for our artists We are going to use this costume when filming the band in the studio like environment as this will also emphases the bands own persona and ‘independent’ image. Furthermore, the main band member will be wearing the same costume but will have a distinct feature about his costume which will make him stand out as the front man and will help the audience relate to the band through him.
- 6. BAND IMAGE For the band personality we decided on having the artists appear to have a strong connection between each other, with a jovial edge showing they’re young and independent. We are aiming for a large audience by combining the mixture of clothing of the artists with pop culture trends and fashions. This can help the audience relate to the band through their costumes.
