Lean Burn Combustion
Lean burn refers to the use of lean mixtures in an internal combustion engine. The air fuel ratios can
be as high as 65:1, so the mixture has considerably less fuel in comparison to the stoichiometric
combustion ratio (14.7:1 for petrol for example). Contents[hide] * 1 Principle * 2 Chrysler Lean Burn

Heavy duty lean burn gas engines admit as much as 75% more air than theoretically needed for
complete combustion into the combustion chambers. The extremely weak air fuel mixtures lead to
lower combustion temperatures and therefore lower NOx formation. While lean burn gas engines offer
higher theoretical thermal efficiencies, transient response and performance may be compromised in
certain situations. Lean burn gas engines are almost always turbocharged, resulting high power and
torque figures not achieveable with stoichiometric engines due to high combustion temperatures.
Heavy duty gas engines may employ precombustion chambers in the cylinder head. A lean gas and air
mixture is first highly compressed in the main chamber by the piston. A much richer, though much
lesser volume gas/air mixture is introduced to the precombustion chamber and ignited by spark plug.
The flame front spreads to the lean gas air mixture in the cylinder.
This two stage lean burn combustion produces low NOx and no particulate emissions. Thermal
efficiency is better as higher compression ratios are achieved.
Manufacturers of heavy duty lean burn gas engines include GE Jenbacher, MAN Diesel amp; Turbo,
Wärtsilä, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Rolls Royce plc.

Circuit City Failure Essay
There are two main causes of the failure of Circuit City: First, the company was too goal oriented and
aggressive on winning the sales. According to the approach that the company used, Circuit City
opened a number of large stores at once in the same region, which definitely creates cannibalization. It
pushed so hard on the sale ignored the internal competition between each store. Also, consumers were
tired about the heavy advertising and found Best Buy more comfortable and friendly to shop with. As
a result, Circuit City s 600 stores posted an annual loss of $89.3 million by the end of 2003. Second,
the company did not stop and think about how to regain its market, but quickly fell into the flat screen
price war without clear positioning. It did not realize that nearly 44 percent of its revenues came from
TV sales, and if they did not pay enough attention and carefully make decisions on this product, the
company would be so to eroding margins! Circuit City focused too much on the sales and paid no
attention on analyzing, predicting, and reacting to the market change. Therefore, when the sale
dropped, it had to lowered the price as other competitors did, and resulted by a huge loss on profit.

Any retailers without loyalty buyers will quickly fail. Therefore, attracting more potential customers,
acquiring more new customers, and maintain more loyal customers will help a company success in the
high competing industry. Also, if retailers can get the suppliers with lower price or better quality
product, the more likely a retailer could win in the industry. Since there are only limited number of
suppliers in the industry and the merchant they supply account for a larger part of the retailer s sales.
All of the retailers are competing for the

Almost 80% of apartment renters prefer making online rent payments, while six in 10 landlords would
prefer all tenants made digital payments. Integrated payment options include digital wallets, credit
cards, eChecks, ACH transfers and debit card transactions. Electronic payment processing is faster
than traditional collection processes, which means more control over the cash flow. Another key
benefit is that companies can process owner payments electronically, eliminating costs associated with
printing and mailing paper checks. Additionally, when integrated with property management
accounting software, financial records are always up to date and error free.
Key benefits of automating payments include:
No more lost checks
Ever payment received or generated leaves a digital audit trail
Greater visibility. Easy to identify and address late payers and negative payment patterns
Lower collection costs
Secure portals protect privacy and assets
Enhanced accountability

Smooth Gap Definition
Two words: thigh gap. If you haven t heard of it, don t worry, that s probably because it doesn t exist
on more than half of the population. According to Wikipedia, a thigh gap is a space between the inner
thighs of some women when standing upright with knees touching. It s interesting how that one
sentence represents everything that is wrong with our society.
The idea of the thigh gap gained popularity in late 2012 after the annual Victoria s Secret Fashion
Show, which featured numerous models, all of which had thin thighs. Several twitter accounts, blogs,
and memes emerged all over the Internet and pictures of skinny thighs were spreading like wildfire on
the so called thinspiration blogs. These blogs collect and post pictures of skinny ... Show more content

And the public falls prey to their tactics time and again. Corporate organizations are finding gaps in
their market, and off late it s the health quotient that is being thrown into the spotlight. They come up
with so many products that offer benefits like slimming and toning in order to help us achieve our
dream appearance. Apart from the teas, pills and books, the service industry also feeds off our
insecurities. The annual revenue of the U.S. weight loss industry is 20 billion dollars, including diet
books, diet drugs and weight loss surgeries. The average salaries paid to celebrity endorsers of major
weight loss programs ranges from 500,000 to 3 million dollars. In the beginning, thigh gap just
seemed like it was a metaphor for social acceptance and approval but now it seems to represent
something much more than that. It represents exploitation and profiteering. It shows how even a
seemingly small social construct can play a major role in helping industries prey off insecure women

Nurses Care Of Patients With Multiple Problems And Needs
Registered nurses take care of patients with multiple problems and needs. Being able to establish
priorities by figuring out which needs take superiority over other needs is a crucial role in our career.
Prioritizing is the important to time management. It allows the registered nurse to focus on tasks that
require more of your attention, energy, and time. Some things may be left undone, but they can be
passed down to the oncoming shift, and some things can be delegated to other team members. Nursing
is a 24 hour job. Prioritizing patients should be done according to Maslow hierarchy of needs, ABCs,
stable versus unstable patients or the nursing process. Maslow hierarchy of needs identifies different
levels of human needs. There are five levels of needs: physiological needs these are basic needs; they
include both needs necessary for survival and needs that are basic, but not mandatory for survival.
Safety needs the things we need to give us a sense of security; your property, your well being, and
your family all provide you with your safety needs. Love/Belonging needs your need to feel like you
fit in. Esteem needs the things that add to your ego. Self actualization the highest level of the
hierarchy; insight that is complete when you reach your full prospective and your ability to distinguish
your full prospective. Nursing process steps include assessment, analysis, planning, implementation,
and evaluation (Duncan DePew, 2011). Assessment is the first step in

The And School Promotion And Graduation Ceremonies
Throughout history, it has been questioned frequently to what extent is there religious freedom in this
country and what constitutes a violation in the First Amendment. In a recent court case, it has been
questioned whether a middle school promotion and high school graduation should be allowed to be
held in a church. The school could not hold the promotion and graduation ceremonies because the
auditorium was found to be holding high levels of unhealthy chemicals from paint and this was also
found at the middle and high school s gyms and cafeterias. The school decided that the best option
would be to hold the promotion and graduation at an alternate indoor location, a Church. The Church
is the most appealing location to the school because it is a large enough location to seat all of the
people who want to attend, plenty of parking and there will also be no interference of weather
implications. However, the holding of the ceremonies in the church has brought forth the question
whether it is constitutional or not. As proven through the Lemon v. Kurtzman (1971), Engel v. Vitale
(1962), Lee v. Weisman (1992), Santa Fe Independent School District v Doe (2000) and the Elk Grove
Unified School District v. Newdow (2004) court cases, it has proven that the holding of the
ceremonies in Church will be held constitutional. During the year 1971, there were two cases that
involved controversies over laws in Pennsylvania and Rhode Island. In Pennsylvania, there was a law

A. 2 Rhetorical Questions
1. Would you like it if someone came to your house and stole your valuable belongings?
i. I know I wouldn t, and I m sure none of you would either.
2. So why should any country s artifact a valuable belonging of theirs, be put up for display in another

Profit
1. At least Germany was honest in their reasoning with keeping Nefertiti s bust. Countries like
Germany and Great Britain have no right in continuing making profit off of other countries stolen
treasure. They should return its stolen artifacts, and instead, thank the countries for being able to have
made money off of what was not rightfully theirs to begin with. Basically, these countries not only
stole artifacts, but large amounts of money that should have been made by the artifacts countries
themselves.
III. Conclusion
A. Review/Clincher.
1. Cultural treasures should be displayed in the context in which they originated; only then can they be
truly understood. In the case of the Elgin marbles this is an architectural context which only proximity
to the Parthenon itself can provide.
2. If countries were truly interested in studying another s artifacts, they could then borrow the artifacts
on a long term loan an alternative solution.
3. Lastly, if you were also interested in archaeology, you wouldn t want to have to visit a number of
museums all across the world just to see objects from one civilization, would you?
i. Wouldn t it be nice if all Egyptian artifacts were housed in Egypt, all Greek artifacts housed in
Greece, and all other artifacts housed in their

Essay on Islamic Society s Treatment of Women
Islamic Society s Treatment of Women From the time of birth, a Muslim woman s place in Islamic
society already has a shadow cast over it. Instead of the joyous cry that boys receive of Allah Abkar 1
when they are born, a baby girl is welcomed into the world with a hushed Qurannic prayer.
Although Islam venomously denies its role in the suppression of women, a survey of
Islamic countries reveals that women are denied their humanity. The status of women in Islamic
countries is undeniably inferior to men. Over the last twenty years, progress has been made in many
countries which has helped elevate the roles which Muslim women play in their societies. Although
progress has been made in certain countries, there still exist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

An example of this is in Bangladeshi society, where women are not allowed to speak the name of their
husbands directly, because it is viewed as immodest and disrespectful.3 In addition to this tradition
that has been adopted from Hinduism, women in Bangladesh are rarely referred to by their first name,
but are instead addressed as men s wives, brother s sisters, or father s daughters.4
It is obvious from this simple fact that women are not viewed as individuals aside from what they give
to the world of men. To supplement these simple practices of suppression, there are also sacred
concepts and beliefs that exist in Islamic countries that display misogyny.5 Fatima
Mernissi writes:
Banning mixing of sexes and advocating the separation of men and women as the measure to alleviate
all political crises is far from being a novelty in Muslim political history. It is a tradition, even a state
tradition. Opposition forces claim past practice as the basis for treating women with contempt. A
Muslim Sovereign in a crisis, facing hunger riots or popular revolt, immediately has recourse to the
traditional practice of destroying the stores of wine and placing a ban on women leaving their homes,
and especially on their using the same transportation as men, reducing them to the state of immobility
in capitals like Cairo and Baghdad which are traversed by great rivers....Wine and

Analysis Of Susan Sontag s Article On Photography
Bicky Lenh Vabiana Santos Option 2
In the essay On Photography written in the 1970 s, author Susan Sontag states that photographs really
are experience captured and the camera helps us put ourselves into the relation of the photographs.
The practice of photography gives us assurance by its accurate relation to reality than any other
devices. Sontag sets many insights that still exist in today s photographic society, but it has been
modernized into our generation of photographic technology. As Sontag asserts that photographs are a
tool that we rely on when we are in doubt of something. During 1871, the camera became a useful tool
for controlling surveillance. (167) Today store owners set up video cameras to prevent robberies,
shoplifting, etc. We have included this practice to serious matters, such as using photographs in courts
to prove innocence, and taking photos at crime scenes to record clues for investigation. Furthermore, it
has worked in favor of the public. One recent news that demonstrates this is the UC Davis
pepperspray incident. Students were seated, protesting on the pavement on campus. Police then pepper
sprayed the students after asking them to leave. The video of the police officer pepperspraying the
students went viral on the internet. As soon as the incident was happening, many students quickly
pulled out their camera phones and started recording. It allowed the students to capture the abuse of
police authority and resulted them

Film Aesthetics
In Film Aesthetics I have watched many fantastic films such as Moonrise Kingdom, Touch of Evil,
Stranger Than Fiction, and many enjoyable movies to watch. All the movies I have watched have
fabulous scenes which have captured my attention, Opening scene for Touch of Evil by Orson Orwell
really caught my attention. The movements, decor, props, lighting, framing, and the setting of the
scene adapted well. Orwell made these elements coalesce into an original and is why this scene is
highly regarded, the subtitles in the beginning of the scene might of taken away the a bit feel of the
scene, but overall is a scene worth analysing. Touch of Evil is directed by Orson Welles. As a couple is

Regulation of Aviation at the Federal, State and Local Level
Regulation of Aviation at the Federal, State and Local Level
Aviation has an impact on everybody and everything. Not only does it have an impact on a worldwide
base, but it also has as big an impact on local business. Aviation in regulated in many different ways
nationwide. There are many regulations that are federal, such as airspace, and must be obeyed by
everyone and there are regulations that are local, such as traffic pattern altitude, and must be obeyed as
if they were federal regs. As in any other field of work there are laws and regulations people must
obey by. If people were allowed to do what ever they want, then we would live in a world of chaos.

For example like traffic pattern altitudes, these figures are different in every single airport. That shows
enforcement on local regulation. Now of course that s as simple as it gets. Local regulation is usually
of the airport it involves. Like lets say every airport has many different procedures. Let s take
Republic airport in Long Island. Now republic airport is a general aviation airport with corporate jets
flying in and out of it. Now some of the regulations, which apply or are made by Republic, are noise
abatement. Noise abatement is a procedure you most follow in order to comply with airport departure
procedures. Every single airport in the country is different so no single one will have to same
procedures. Then also instrument procedures and minimums according to the airport elevation and
also obstruction clearance it differs. There are set minimums by the federal regulation in case the
airport doesn t have minimums, but each airport institutes its own minimums depending on the type of
instrument approach it has. Airspeeds are also a local regulation. Now there are set standards for
airspeeds all around the nation, but in the local area each airport has it max s and min s. All these
regulations are also dealt by the FAA but the local ATC and airport administration are involved in
seeing what s safe for the airport. Not only does the airport admin. Have say in it but also the people

The Federal Estate Tax Should Be Abolished
Over the past few months, the federal estate tax has been a popular topic in the news. Also known as
the death tax, this tax is applied to the transfer of an estate at passing away of an individual. Generally,
said estate includes all assets of the person who passed away, including financial assets like stocks,
bonds, and mutual funds; real assets, like houses, land, or other tangible property; and proceeds from
life insurance policies. The United States federal government established the estate tax that is
currently implemented in 1916. Since then, the estate tax was phased out in 2001, so that the rates
dropped until eliminated in 2010. However, this legislation was not lasting, and the estate tax returned
in 2011.
The estate tax that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This tax is only creating more pain at a time when our country should be supporting its citizens who
provide jobs and help boost the economy.
Since the inception of our great country, American families have worked hard their whole lives to
make the money to support their families and pass a legacy down to their future generations. This hard
work is built into the framework of our country. We say that we encourage the citizens to be self made
and work hard because both these actions will pay off. How can we truly be promoting success if our
tax code is working directly against our hard working citizens? In fact, the estate tax is actually a
double tax: income taxes must be paid on earnings that eventually make up the estate s value (Wood).
In 2015, the Supreme Court ruled that the double taxation that the state of Maryland was imposing on
its citizens was unconstitutional (Brown). Our government needs to be taking the proper steps to
eradicate all forms of double taxation, as it is certainly not fair to the people, the people for whom the
Constitution was created to protect.
Another key fact that must be pointed out is the amount of revenue, or lack thereof, that this estate tax
makes for the federal government. In 2014 alone, our federal government made over $3 trillion. Of
that massive number, the estate tax counted for $19.3 billion, or a mere 0.6

Infidel My Life Story Summary
Introduction
The book being reviewed is Infidel: My Life Story by Ayaan Hirsi Ali. Ali was born in Somalia,
though due to her father s involvement in the Somali civil war she and along with her family were
constantly moving. The majority of her upbringing was spent in Saudi Arabia, Kenya and Ethiopia.
After fleeing to the Netherlands, to avoid a forced marriage, Ali assimilated herself into the Dutch
society and achieved her M.A. in political science. Today she is established as a women s rights
activist with her own foundation called AHA. Through her foundation Ali is attempting to aid in the
prevention of violence against children and women in the US, along with promoting the status of
women and girls globally. Ali is otherwise known as an author, and former politician. She is well
known for her unpopular and controversial views on Islam. Ali argues that the foundation of Islam
contradicts Western democratic views, mainly women s rights, in her memoir. Along with writing this
autobiography, Ali has written countless of other books including Heretic: Why Islam Needs a

American Superheroes Influence On Society During The 1940s
The 1940s were known as the golden age of comics. Many superheroes recognizable in mainstream
popular culture today originated during this time, becoming favorites of the young and old alike.
Unsurprisingly, superheroes usually experience their greatest success during times of transition and
uncertainty, such as America moving from economic crisis into armed conflict (Bainbridge 746).
While this essay will be focusing on the overall influence of all American Superheroes on society
during the 1940s, a specific focus will be placed on two of the most well known created heroes:
Superman and Captain America. Both Superman and Captain America first emerged as the nation was
coming out of the Great Depression and headed into World War II (Bainbridge 746). Therefore,

Between the Great Depression and the War, living the American Dream had become a far fetched idea.
Comic books and the introduction of superheroes provided society to escape into a fantasy world
where everything wrong in the world was nonexistent thanks to these heroes. Additionally, the
continued development of superheroes became proved to be positive role models for kids. The
expansion of superhero popularity in the media showed that superheroes thinking about law and

Drug Resistance And Its Effect On The Clinical Benefit Of...
Drug resistance has become an obstacle in maximizing the clinical benefit of ART and consequently,
routine HIV genotyping is recommended prior to ART initiation during viral rebounds and on the
failure of an ART regimen. Successful PCR amplification of PR and RT genes is essential regardless
of which method is used for sequencing. Results from this study show that not only it is possible to
detect but also to characterize virus that continues to be produced in low levels in such patients. The
samples with LLV were amplified to determine whether LLV present in patients on effective ART
regimen resulted from the development of drug resistance. Out of the 31 samples that were amplified
using the optimized protocol, seven had no product by the time library preparation was set up. The
likelihood of the loss of PCR products during clean up exists. There is a high possibility of
mishandling the sample during shipping and receiving of the samples. Instead of screw cap tubes, the
samples were shipped on a 96 well plate with a film on top, which is not ideal as per protocol.
Additionally, the ice packs had melted by the time the lab received samples for sequencing. Since
DNA does not evaporate easily, lack of proper shipping and storage techniques could have led to
samples spilling or possible degradation.
Many samples had failed quality control step for library preparation via Nextera kit prior to Miseq

Environmental Issues Of The American Automotive Industry
In conversations globally the environment is a hot topic. Issues with the ozone layer, depleting natural
resources, and health risks associated with emissions and changes in climate coupled with its resulting
natural disasters; have pushed conservation issues into the spotlight. The environmental issues
presented today are not the result of one country, one type, or one industry actions but a communal
failure of a mixture of several. With that said many countries and industries are going through policy
changes to combat environmental issues that will hopefully benefit the environment, the consumer,
and industries.

The lower the miles per gallon (mpg) a vehicle has the greater the amount of fuel needed to reach
destinations. Armed with this knowledge, the United States government, through various agencies, set
forth a plan regulation to be followed by the industry in an attempt to lower vehicle emissions.
On the heels of the 2011 fuel standards Cash for Clunkers that called for a reduction of emissions in
heavy duty vehicles, the Obama Administration has introduced new fuel and emissions regulations
and standards for the whole American Automotive Industry. These regulations, on light duty and
heavy duty vehicles, that have been passed by the administration are a joint effort by the National
Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), The National program for greenhouse gas
emissions (GHG) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Though there are various
procedures the meat of the regulation is that by 2025 fleets of vehicles would need to get an average of
54.5 mpg. By doing this greenhouse gas emissions will be cut by almost 6 billion metric tons by 2025.
This agreement was the first of its kind and garners support from 13 major automakers, which account
for almost 90% of the auto producers in the U.S. The auto producers get a set national fuel standard
and the nation gets less emissions. But as with all changes there are those who are happy and those
who are not. Those encouraging the

The common cuckoo can be recognized by its soft, two note call: cuc koo, cuc koo. This gentle song

One key way that cuckoos mimic other animals is by copying their physical appearance. Cuckoos

The Mask You Live In Analysis
The Mask You Live In is a 2015 American documentary film that covers the topic of hyper
masculinity in American society and its effects on the development of boys in this country. The
primary argument that this film makes is that it is highly unrealistic for men to live up to the standard
of hyper masculinity that our society as created and forced upon them. In fact, the film makes the
argument that men who try to live up to these standards are setting themselves up for failure because
many of them fall in to deep depression as they fail to measure up to society s skewed idea of
masculinity. This film uses various interviews from many different individuals including a single
father, victims of abuse, and teachers in order to support the overall claim that it is trying to make
along with going into some of the effects that hypermasculinity has on boys as they grow up. Overall,
I feel that this film does a fantastic job of communicating both the dangers of trying to live up to a
frankly outdated model of masculinity as well as showing how unrealistic this standard of masculinity
is in modern society.
On the topic of masculinity, the film goes into the causes of the current standard that society has set
for how to be a man and how it ends up effecting boys as they grow up in American society. The
documentary also describes how society links athletic ability to successfully doing gender as a man.
During this scene, former NFL player Joe Ehrmann states how he feels that this way

Persuasive Essay On Political Advertising
Political ads can be viewed as annoying, excessive, biased, and unnecessary. This opinion is shared
among many people within America with many wanting all ads to stop entirely. Now, are these ads
truly needed or are they just to make a candidate look good? Certain strategies used in political
campaigns can be confusing and frustrating. However, they can also help bring people together to
discuss their opinions and beliefs in order to decide who to support. Political ads can encourage people
to come together because of a common cause, improving our nation, and who is the best candidate for
President. Political signs and commercials are one tactic that can be misleading. Many people feel that
candidates use bandwagons and endorsements to help them look good and promise immediate changes
which are either not possible or can take a long time to achieve. This is like with Mondale Ferraro,
who made many different types of images to make him look more popular (Document A). However,
these images also help people decide who would be better for the job based off of looks, beliefs, and
other attributes. I would use these to help make myself stand out from the other candidates by putting
in true aspects into my campaign so they do not put false hope into what I stand for. This also helps
decide what issues the public focuses on the most based on their beliefs. The candidates running for
President try to get rid of the issues the public are concerned about to encourage the public to vote for
them. Bandwagons use well known and respected groups of people to influence the public to vote for
a candidate because they are doing it. This can be done with several methods, like endorsement,
glittering generalities, and even using a spoil system to intrigue people into electing them. This is like
the Reagan TV ad where he tried to improve his image with the actions he had promised, which
spread with the public (Document B). In addition, it helps clarify what people want most out of a
candidate for their benefit, as well as their own benefits. I would use bandwagons, because it helps get
other people s attention and make myself popular to others. But these methods can help a candidate
who already has a lot of public support. This

Problem Statement
When changing the dimensions of a pool table I was assigned to find what corner the ball would land
in, and how many rebounds or times it would have to hit off a wall in order to go into a corner pocket.
Every time the ball is hit at a 45 degree angle including when it bounces off the wall. To find the
number of rebounds the equation you use is, (h+w) 2. The way to recognize which corner pocket the
ball will land in is that if the height of the table is a multiple of 2 then it will land in the top left corner
(since the ball starts in the bottom left corner), but any other height will direct the ball to either pocket
on the right side.

Ideologies In Mother Courage
Referring to Brecht s time, war was prominent, despair was all around and corruption resided, hand in
hand. People had obviously lost all hope and faith, they just wanted to survive somehow and that
innocent notion is what to led massive corruption. That later turned into selfishness and carelessness,
in short, the battle for survival of the fittest. War led to the growth of business making, war was fought
on the basis of religious bribery, and survival then became dependent on both. In the play Mother
Courage by Brecht, he criticizes all three ideologies, respectively. These three notions are actually

Mother Courage pointed out before, people are stupid. Everyone needs a motivation to do something,
and that motivation usually comes with a reward in the name of God and the shape of cash, which
ultimately becomes the easiest and most useful survival scheme. And in case of men, women are also
included in the prize package. The Recruiting Officer lures Eilif in joining the platoons by saying Ten
gilders in advance and you re a soldier of the king and a stout fellow and the women will be mad
about you.

This consists of things such as achievement of higher market share and profit maximisation
consequently due to an individual s performance. Processes that are used to motivate employees will
affect employee s willingness to remain with an organisation. Performance management is vital within
most organisations and is seen as a crucial ingredient in motivating employees and can be explained
by various motivational theories.
The Goal Theory The goal setting theory, introduced by Edwin Locke, stated that an intention to aim
towards a goal is a major cause of improving work motivation. Essentially, goals identify employees
what is required by them and how much effort should be expanded. Therefore, the greater the
difficulty of achieving the goal, the higher the level of performance expected.
Managers and employees can set the goals (together or manager alone), but no matter who sets the
goal, employees performance improves when they get feedback on their progress. As well as the
feedback, there are four other factors that influence the goals performance relationship:
* The employee must be committed to the goal. * The employee must believe that he is capable of
performing the task. * Tasks involved in achieving the goal should be simple, familiar, and
independent.
If the goal setting theory is followed, managers are required to work with their employees in devising
goal objectives with the aim of providing targets for motivation. Additionally,

The Internet is a global public network and it is the Universal source of information. It has become a
popular medium for commercial activities. Millions of dollars of transactions occur daily in many
financial organizations through Internet. The internet along with digital technologies has taken human
life into much higher levels of sophistication and ease. The growth of Internet has brought about great
benefits to the modern society; meanwhile, the rapidly increasing connectivity and accessibility to the
Internet has posed a security threat. With the tremendous growth of network based services and

Risk Takers Compare And Contrast
Despite the lack of communication, the comparison between risk takers and reckless people is a key
factor in life. Everyone will most likely experience one of these once in their life, but the real question
is which one will you be? Although they bear many minor similarities, the differences between
reckless and risk takers are obvious. Risk takers are people who represent the act of being cautious
while at the same time realizing there s a slight chance of failing. On the other hand, reckless people
show poor behavior such as being careless or acting foolish. A prime example would be NASCAR
drivers. These professionals risk their life doing what they love, while at the same time being
extremely aware of potential danger. Even though they still carry an abundance of experience, they
still make sure they have their armor equipped on their body and personal vehicles. Reckless people

knew he could easily get stuck down there with Floyd but he refused to give up and risked his life to

taker. Many believe the definition of being reckless includes the act of doing dumb things in public,
but studies prove that most of the nonsense involves being behind a wheel. When drivers took long

Notes On 9 Spiritual Gifts Essay
I Introduction
God s love shown brilliantly, when he robed himself in flesh, bled, died on the cross and rose again
that we may have salvation. I always think of the old hymn When he was on the cross I was on his
mind . No longer under the Law of Moses, or the dispensation of the law, but now under Grace. Once
salvation is complete we begin to further our relationship into the Spiritual Gifts. Matthew 7:11 KJV If
ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your father
which is in heaven give good things to them that ask? With 9 spiritual gifts, God would enable us with
power and authority to be able to fulfill our purpose here on earth. Wisdom, Knowledge, Faith,
Healing, Miracles, Prophecy, Discernment, Tongues and Interpretation of Tongues. With the Baptism
of the Spirit and the Spiritual Gifts, God mad sure his people were well equipped.
II. Baptism of the Holy Spirit
One important fact about the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is that it is a gift. It s not something we earn,
with merit or even personal righteousness. We in our selves are never upright, good or righteous
enough to earn the Baptism of the Spirit. In the same way we would receive a gift on Christmas day
from our parents, we didn t earn that gift but they love us and give us gifts of love. The Baptism of the
Spirit is not to be earned, but received from a loving father. Therefore all that is required of us is to

The Colonists Did NOT Have Adequate Cause for the American...
Were the Colonists Justified in Their Rebellion against England? Yes Did the Colonists Have an
Adequate Cause for Revolution? No
Starting after the termination of the Seven Year s war, by the Peace of Paris, England repeatedly
violated the American Colonists rights. A series of events, happening between 1763(ending of the
Seven Years war) and 1775 (starting of the revolution), could be taken as motives for the American s
revolution. The Americans claimed that through both, the Sugar Act (1764) and the Stamp Act (1765),
the British dishonored their rights to taxation. The Townshend Acts also infuriated the Americans, and
as in all other circumstances, they were willing to fight for their rights. The final justification for the ...

The Americans surely refused when asked, by the parliament to revoke the circular letter passed by the
Massachusetts assembly. This created more unity among the colonies, which added to the Acts, were
one more justification for their rebellion.
The Coercive Acts, passed in 1774, were the biggest justification for the revolution. They were known
as the Intolerable Acts. The Acts closed the port of Boston, restructured the Massachusetts
government, allowed British officials to be tried in court in either Canada or Europe, and allowed
troops to be quartered wherever needed. The Americans felt that all these were violations of their
rights and that they had been forced to obey laws that violated their rights.
All the above decribed Acts and laws, were a justification for the revolution. However, they are not
valid causes for the rebellion. Considering that the main justification for the revolution was the
passing of the Coercive Acts, these Acts, were only passed because of the Boston Tea party. The
Americans might have said that they were full of all the taxes, and that Englang went too far with the
Tea Act. However Most of the taxes the Americans paid, were much lower than the taxes the Britsh
paid over the same goods.
Ultimately, the colonists were justified in their rebellion against England. However they did not have
an adequate cause for revolution.

The Importance Of Journalism
Journalism plays a major role in aiding democracy and helping it function. It can shape the way we
view policies or how we view a particular candidate. Unfortunately, this can be sometimes forgotten
or overlooked in the midst of partisan debate, government shutdowns and the new insurgence of fake
news . If we were able to put the absurdity of these issues to the side and focus on the real impact of
true raw journalism, we can open our eyes and mind to the impact news has on all our political views.
Let us look at the impact and effects that journalism is currently having on last year s election and the
political climate around the world. One could say that journalism provides the public with
governmental transparency and provides checks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So, without the help of an investigative journalist this would have never been known to the public and
would have never caused chance in school policies.
The case was also similar when an investigative reporter revealed the conditions at a factory in China
producing the lovely Apple products we all seem to not be able to function without or live. An
investigative report revealed the harsh, at times deadly conditions under which Chinese workers
assembling iPhones and iPads live and work; the low pay and high turnover at Apple s retail stores;
the lengths to which Apple went to reduce its tax bill, and the shortsightedness of its conclusion that
Apples couldn t be manufactured in America (Duhigg) The finds by this investigative report caused
outrage and backlash on the Chinese and Apple from its loyal customers. This would eventually cause
an increase in wages for factory workers and better working conditions. Workers within these factories
begin to have rights and were no longer being treated as cheap labor. , asked competitors to help curb
excessive overtime in China, and reached out to advocacy groups it once rebuffed. It publicly
identified its suppliers for the first time. Apple also announced after the scandal that it would invest
$100 million to manufacture some computers in the United States (Spaeth). Although the $100 million
dollar investment in the US jobs was years later, the real winner was the Chinese workers who now

History of British Literature
Late Medieval Period 14th Century British Literature
14th and 15th were period of transition from feudalism to pre industrial era. A time of political, social
and ideological conflicts;
England was in war with France (the hundred year war 1337 1453 Edward s claim to the French
throne and attempt to bring England, Gascony and Flanders under unified political control). The
defeats in France lead to deepening the internal crisis. The decline in agriculture together with the rise
in the population resulted in frequent famines and helped the spread during the 14th c. of the Black
Death . 1381 The Peasants Revolt.

Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, by the same anonymous author, is also of high literary
sophistication, and its intelligence, vividness, and symbolic interest render it possibly the finest
Arthurian poem in English. Other important alliterative poems are the moral allegory Piers Plowman,
attributed to William Langland, and the alliterative Morte Arthur, which, like nearly all English poetry
until the mid 14th cent., was anonymous.
The works of Geoffrey Chaucer mark the brilliant culmination of Middle English literature. Chaucer s
The Canterbury Tales are stories told each other by pilgrims–who comprise a very colorful cross
section of 14th century English society–on their way to the shrine at Canterbury. The tales are cast
into many different verse forms and genres and collectively explore virtually every significant
medieval theme. Chaucer s wise and humane work also illuminates the full scope of medieval thought.
Overshadowed by Chaucer but of some note are the works of John Gower.
The Fifteenth Century:
The 15th cent. is not distinguished in English letters, due in part to the social dislocation caused by the
prolonged Wars of the Roses. Of the many 15th century imitators of Chaucer the best known are John
Lydgate and Thomas Hoccleve. Other poets of the time include Stephen Hawes and Alexander
Barclay and the Scots poets William Dunbar, Robert Henryson, and Gawin Douglas. The poetry of
John Skelton, which is mostly satiric, combines medieval and

Charlotte Beers Case Study Essay
1. What is Charlotte Beers trying to accomplish as CEO of O M Worldwide?
Charlotte Beers took over as the CEO of O M in 1991. When she took over as the CEO, the company
had lost some of its major accounts including American Express (its most successful account) and the
company s revenues had declined sharply. The press was calling it Beleaguered and predicting that
there was no hope for survival. O M had grown rapidly in the 1980 s and now had 7000 employees
across 270 offices worldwide.
Beers wants to build on the legacy left behind by David Ogilvy since she feels that the company has
all the right ingredients but is just not using its core strengths (the world wide offices and the creative
people).
Beers wants to retain clients ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But Gertsner felt otherwise, he felt that the strength of the company lay in being big. He felt that IBM
just needed to do the same stuff that they were doing, only better. But he refrained from articulating
this because of the impact it would have on staff morale.
The vision was very customer focused. The customers loved the vision and what it would entail for
their business. They bought into the vision readily and were very enthusiastic about it. Charlotte had
taken over the responsibility of communicating with clients while the other managers handled internal
communication. Since the original vision of brand stewardship was Charlotte s, I believe she did a
better job of it than the other managers.
This led to customers coming forward asking for brand audits even before the employees had a clear
idea of the vision. This might have hurt staff morale; the customers knew more about their company s
vision than they themselves did.
3. Evaluate the process by which Beers and her team created the vision
Beers first identified the people who were most passionate about change. She had a brainstorming
session with them to understand the key change areas. After the meeting, the team reverted back with
list of to do items, which was then shortened to come up with the key focus areas for 1993. These key
strategies were linked to the emerging vision by the declaration The purpose of our business is to build
our clients

Pros And Cons Of Hohenzollern
8.5 Prussia.
The Old Baltic Prussians were pagans, invaded and Germanised by the Teutonic Knights as a crusade
during the 1200s . The Hohenzollerns were the Dukes of Nurenberg, to whom in 1398 the Electorate
of Brandenberg succeeded, and subsequently, the Duchy of Prussia in 1618 . Thus the two
geographically separate areas were joined by a Hohenzollern personal union, albeit a distance apart.
The area was ravaged by the thirty years war, but strengthened by the development of a martial culture
by Fredrick William I (1640 88), and the subsequent declaration of the Kingdom of Prussia in 1701 on
the grounds of Baltic Prussia being outside the Holy Roman Empire, and therefore able to be a
monarchy. Subsequent Hohenzollern strategy was to extend ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

By allowing the soldiers to return home at sowing and harvest times for the peasantry, and having a
short national service and continuing connection for the professional and Junker classes, militarism
was inculcated at all levels of society, and as part of the everyday rural village life .
This culture of widespread identification and active involvement with the military and civil society
was complemented by values of selfless hard work, inculcated by the behaviour of the Fredricks
themselves, particularly the personal example set by Fredrick II The Great , seen to have had a very
deprived childhood with his abusive and tyrannical father who executed his best friend in front of him;
who derided his interest in the arts and music, forcing him to learn the martial arts, and who for the
good of the country became a master military strategist and triumphal leader .
It was on this cultural foundation that Bismarck was able to build the effective and militarily potent
state that declared an integrated German Empire in 1871 , and many of these cultural factors
contributed to the efficiency of the NSDAP state in the subsequent

Differences Between Maori And Non Maori
Definition. Tikanga is a noun that means the proper traditional Maori way of doing things and
concerns Maori protocols of acceptable behaviour including the customary Maori values, obligations
and practices that have developed over time (Maori Dictionary, n.d.), (TKI, 2011). Two key aspects of
tikanga are manaakitanga and kaitiakitanga. Manaakitanga concerns hospitality and kindness towards
guests, kaitiakitanga is the sense of respect that Maori have for the environment (Te Ara, 2015).
Related concepts include mana (spiritual power or status), tapu (spiritual restriction) and mauri (life
force or principle). Three specific interactions. In the context of the case study, the following
interactions could take place: 1. Interaction One. Between Maori and non Maori. Aranui has about
11,000 inhabitants, some 17% Maori and 83% non Maori, and although the scenario makes no
mention of conflict as a consequence of different racial values, it is a potential concern that
development propositions could upset social cohesion and racial harmony if non Maori feel
discriminated against, perhaps due to local employment opportunities favouring Maori that become
available due to Maori business initiatives. A concern that only whanau will be employed.
Doubtlessly, some of the 83% non Maori population will resent the $10 million Treaty settlement.
Potentially, this interaction could be very positive should both Maori and non Maori see mutual
benefit in the development proposition.

Heavy duty lean burn gas engines admit as much as 75% more air than theoretically needed for complete combustion into the combustion chambers. The extremely weak air fuel mixtures lead to lower combustion temperatures and therefore lower NOx formation. While lean burn gas engines offer higher theoretical thermal efficiencies, transient response and performance may be compromised in certain situations. Lean burn gas engines are almost always turbocharged, resulting high power and torque figures not achieveable with stoichiometric engines due to high combustion temperatures. Heavy duty gas engines may employ precombustion chambers in the cylinder head. A lean gas and air mixture is first highly compressed in the main chamber by the piston. A much richer, though much lesser volume gas/air mixture is introduced to the precombustion chamber and ignited by spark plug. The flame front spreads to the lean gas air mixture in the cylinder. This two stage lean burn combustion produces low NOx and no particulate emissions. Thermal efficiency is better as higher compression ratios are achieved. Manufacturers of heavy duty lean burn gas engines include GE Jenbacher, MAN Diesel amp; Turbo, Wärtsilä, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Rolls Royce plc. [edit] Honda lean burn ... According to the approach that the company used, Circuit City opened a number of large stores at once in the same region, which definitely creates cannibalization. It pushed so hard on the sale ignored the internal competition between each store. Also, consumers were tired about the heavy advertising and found Best Buy more comfortable and friendly to shop with. As a result, Circuit City s 600 stores posted an annual loss of $89.3 million by the end of 2003. Second, the company did not stop and think about how to regain its market, but quickly fell into the flat screen price war without clear positioning. It did not realize that nearly 44 percent of its revenues came from TV sales, and if they did not pay enough attention and carefully make decisions on this product, the company would be so to eroding margins! Circuit City focused too much on the sales and paid no attention on analyzing, predicting, and reacting to the market change. Therefore, when the sale dropped, it had to lowered the price as other competitors did, and resulted by a huge loss on profit. Attractiveness: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Wikipedia, a thigh gap is a space between the inner thighs of some women when standing upright with knees touching. It s interesting how that one sentence represents everything that is wrong with our society. The idea of the thigh gap gained popularity in late 2012 after the annual Victoria s Secret Fashion Show, which featured numerous models, all of which had thin thighs. The And School Promotion And Graduation Ceremonies Throughout history, it has been questioned frequently to what extent is there religious freedom in this country and what constitutes a violation in the First Amendment. In a recent court case, it has been questioned whether a middle school promotion and high school graduation should be allowed to be held in a church. The school could not hold the promotion and graduation ceremonies because the auditorium was found to be holding high levels of unhealthy chemicals from paint and this was also found at the middle and high school s gyms and cafeterias. The school decided that the best option would be to hold the promotion and graduation at an alternate indoor location, a Church. The Church is the most appealing location to the school because it is a large enough location to seat all of the people who want to attend, plenty of parking and there will also be no interference of weather implications. However, the holding of the ceremonies in the church has brought forth the question whether it is constitutional or not. As proven through the Lemon v. Kurtzman (1971), Engel v. Vitale (1962), Lee v. Weisman (1992), Santa Fe Independent School District v Doe (2000) and the Elk Grove Unified School District v. To supplement these simple practices of suppression, there are also sacred concepts and beliefs that exist in Islamic countries that display misogyny.5 Fatima Mernissi writes: Banning mixing of sexes and advocating the separation of men and women as the measure to alleviate all political crises is far from being a novelty in Muslim political history. The United States federal government established the estate tax that is currently implemented in 1916. Since the inception of our great country, American families have worked hard their whole lives to make the money to support their families and pass a legacy down to their future generations. This hard work is built into the framework of our country. We say that we encourage the citizens to be self made and work hard because both these actions will pay off. How can we truly be promoting success if our tax code is working directly against our hard working citizens? In fact, the estate tax is actually a double tax: income taxes must be paid on earnings that eventually make up the estate s value (Wood). In 2015, the Supreme Court ruled that the double taxation that the state of Maryland was imposing on its citizens was unconstitutional (Brown). Our government needs to be taking the proper steps to eradicate all forms of double taxation, as it is certainly not fair to the people, the people for whom the Constitution was created to protect. Another key fact that must be pointed out is the amount of revenue, or lack thereof, that this estate tax makes for the federal government. Drug resistance has become an obstacle in maximizing the clinical benefit of ART and consequently, routine HIV genotyping is recommended prior to ART initiation during viral rebounds and on the failure of an ART regimen. Successful PCR amplification of PR and RT genes is essential regardless of which method is used for sequencing. Results from this study show that not only it is possible to detect but also to characterize virus that continues to be produced in low levels in such patients. The samples with LLV were amplified to determine whether LLV present in patients on effective ART regimen resulted from the development of drug resistance. Out of the 31 samples that were amplified using the optimized protocol, seven had no product by the time library preparation was set up. The likelihood of the loss of PCR products during clean up exists. There is a high possibility of mishandling the sample during shipping and receiving of the samples. Instead of screw cap tubes, the samples were shipped on a 96 well plate with a film on top, which is not ideal as per protocol. Additionally, the ice packs had melted by the time the lab received samples for sequencing. • 30. The Mask You Live In Analysis The Mask You Live In is a 2015 American documentary film that covers the topic of hyper masculinity in American society and its effects on the development of boys in this country. The primary argument that this film makes is that it is highly unrealistic for men to live up to the standard of hyper masculinity that our society as created and forced upon them. In fact, the film makes the argument that men who try to live up to these standards are setting themselves up for failure because many of them fall in to deep depression as they fail to measure up to society s skewed idea of masculinity. This film uses various interviews from many different individuals including a single father, victims of abuse, and teachers in order to support the overall claim that it is trying to make along with going into some of the effects that hypermasculinity has on boys as they grow up. Overall, I feel that this film does a fantastic job of communicating both the dangers of trying to live up to a frankly outdated model of masculinity as well as showing how unrealistic this standard of masculinity is in modern society. On the topic of masculinity, the film goes into the causes of the current standard that society has set for how to be a man and how it ends up effecting boys as they grow up in American society. The documentary also describes how society links athletic ability to successfully doing gender as a man. During this scene, former NFL player Joe Ehrmann states how he feels that this way ... • 31. Persuasive Essay On Political Advertising Political ads can be viewed as annoying, excessive, biased, and unnecessary. This opinion is shared among many people within America with many wanting all ads to stop entirely. Now, are these ads truly needed or are they just to make a candidate look good? Certain strategies used in political campaigns can be confusing and frustrating. However, they can also help bring people together to discuss their opinions and beliefs in order to decide who to support. Political ads can encourage people to come together because of a common cause, improving our nation, and who is the best candidate for President. Political signs and commercials are one tactic that can be misleading. Many people feel that candidates use bandwagons and endorsements to help them look good and promise immediate changes which are either not possible or can take a long time to achieve. This is like with Mondale Ferraro, who made many different types of images to make him look more popular (Document A). However, these images also help people decide who would be better for the job based off of looks, beliefs, and other attributes. I would use these to help make myself stand out from the other candidates by putting in true aspects into my campaign so they do not put false hope into what I stand for. This also helps decide what issues the public focuses on the most based on their beliefs. The candidates running for President try to get rid of the issues the public are concerned about to encourage the public to vote for them. Bandwagons use well known and respected groups of people to influence the public to vote for a candidate because they are doing it. This can be done with several methods, like endorsement, glittering generalities, and even using a spoil system to intrigue people into electing them. This is like the Reagan TV ad where he tried to improve his image with the actions he had promised, which spread with the public (Document B). In addition, it helps clarify what people want most out of a candidate for their benefit, as well as their own benefits. I would use bandwagons, because it helps get other people s attention and make myself popular to others. But these methods can help a candidate who already has a lot of public support. This ... Every time the ball is hit at a 45 degree angle including when it bounces off the wall. To find the number of rebounds the equation you use is, (h+w) 2. Performance management is vital within most organisations and is seen as a crucial ingredient in motivating employees and can be explained by various motivational theories. The Goal Theory The goal setting theory, introduced by Edwin Locke, stated that an intention to aim towards a goal is a major cause of improving work motivation. Essentially, goals identify employees what is required by them and how much effort should be expanded. Therefore, the greater the difficulty of achieving the goal, the higher the level of performance expected. Managers and employees can set the goals (together or manager alone), but no matter who sets the goal, employees performance improves when they get feedback on their progress. As well as the feedback, there are four other factors that influence the goals performance relationship: * The employee must be committed to the goal. * The employee must believe that he is capable of performing the task. * Tasks involved in achieving the goal should be simple, familiar, and independent. If the goal setting theory is followed, managers are required to work with their employees in devising goal objectives with the aim of providing targets for motivation. Additionally, ...
