Estimates of the impact of the crisis on the automotive market continue to deteriorate with a forecast for 2020 of -22,3% compared to 2019 volumes on a global scale with key markets such as Europe and the US particularly impacted (-24,9% and -26,6% respectively). The recovery will be long and will take 2-3 years
Also prolonged factories’ shutdowns (gradually reopened between April and May) have led to a further contraction in production forecasts for 2020 (-22% compared to 2019) with a consequent negative impact on vehicles’ delivery times that are expected to add complexity to the market recovery

During the August the EU passenger car market suffered a significant setback after four months of growth mainly due to the
"shortage" of raw materials that is slowing down the production and therefore cars delivery (OEM supply chain has luck of
stocks and production rhythm is slowing for all brands). Still remaining COVID-19 restrictions and final customer vacation
period has contributed negatively. The increase has been registered only for 2 out of 30 countries (Norway +36,1 and Ireland
+17,3 in August 2021 vs. 2019) and decrease for 28 countries (highest decline for Belgium -43,6% in August 2021 vs. 2019)

Italy – Market Overview

Italian car market continues the year with a double-digit decline even if we compare it to 2019.The "shortage" of raw materials is
slowing down the production and therefore cars delivery (OEM supply chain has luck of stocks and production rhythm is slowing
for all brands). Moreover, the "slowdown" of state incentives has furtherly slowed the demand. In August 2021, 64.689 new cars
were registered, -27,3% vs. 88.939 of August 2019 (the comparison with August 2020, that has seen only 88.801 brings to similar
result). All segments in August has lost in volume compared to 2019: Private segment was recovering better than other segments
(-12,6%), while Fleet registered -26,1% and Business -35,1%. Main optimistic numbers are related to EV sales (+504,7% in August
2021 vs. 2019 with 3.247 registered units this month) and hybrid sales (+440,0% or 23.803 units registered more than in August
2019). More than 264.912 cars were lost in the first 8 months of 2021, with 1.060.182 units registered, down 20,0% on 2019.

◼ Over the last two years a progressive evolution of fuel type
mix in Italian market has been observed
◼ In particular, respect 2019, in August 2021 Petrol and Diesel
had a relevant lost in terms of market share (-18.7 p.p and
-16.7 p.p respectively) and alternative fuel types, have
increased their market share from 5,5% up to 41,5%
◼ Still, these increase was due mainly to mild hybrid vehicles
