Dealers re-open on May 4th after a complete lockdown of their activities on March 11th that has almost zeroed out new
registrations in April. Still, it doesn’t mean a complete “back to normal”: Dealers’ Clients still have to follow rules of social
distancing, hygiene and sanitation. Due to the outbreak in April all channels are affected: -97.8% for Private, -97.3% for Fleet and
-96.9% for Business. In this month, full of double-digit declines, that vary from -95% up to 100%, the only optimistic number is
related to EV sales: only -58% in April 2020 vs.April 2019 (with 500 out of 4.325 registered units this month the market share of
EV raises up to 12%). Immediate "vertical" measures are needed for the automotive sector in order to protect NSC, Dealers and
their 160.000 employees.
