4. Frano Kršinić
(1897-1982)
Along with Ivan Meštrović and Antun
Augustinčić, Frano is considered one of the
three most important Croatian sculptors of
the 20th century
His most widely known work is the statue of
Nikola Tesla installed at the Niagara Falls
State Park, an identical copy of the
monument residing in front of the School of
Electrical Engineering in Serbia

Born in 1980 in Bihać and
lives in Hvar with his parents
He graduated from the
Academy of fine arts in Split.
He exhibited at 5 group
shows and had 2 solo
exhibitions in Hvar, Split,
Varaždin and Zagreb
We interviewed him in his atelier and this is what we
found out:
● he draws his inspiration from his surroundings,
which at the moment are his home and family.
Interestingly enough, he does not have any
favourite artists.
● he says he cannot live from art only so he works in
tourism. He has been making sculptures since he
was a kid and he does not want to give it up.
10. When asked about his favourite piece of art
there was no answer, but what he did tell
us is that there are some items he regrets
making because it was too time consuming
and psychically demanding
What makes him happy while creating art is the
ability to transform his thoughts into reality
If the final product is not to his liking, he throws
the piece away
This particular one took about 7
months to be created
