The mechanical properties of graphene sheet can be tailored with the help of
topological defects. In this research article, the effects of Stone Thrower Wales
(STW) defects on the mechanical properties of graphene sheet was investigated with
the help of molecular dynamics (MD) based simulations. Authors has made an
attempt to analyse the stress field developed in and around the vicinity of defect due
to bond reorientation and further systematic evaluation has been carried out to study
the effect of these stress fields against the applied axial compressive load. The results
obtained with the pristine graphene were made to compare with the available open
literature and the results were reported to be in good agreement with theoretical and
experimental data. It was predicted that graphene with STW defect cannot able to
bear compressive strength in zigzag direction, whereas on the other hand it was
predicted that graphene sheet containing STW defect can bear higher compressive
load in armchair direction, which shows an anisotropic response of STW defects in
graphene. From the obtained results it can be observed that orientation of STW
defects and the loading direction plays an important role to alter the strength of

INVESTMENT TRENDS IN KENYA. Kenya has recently experienced a surge in
foreign direct investment (FDI) following a period of substantial declines in FDI
inflows near the turn of the century. Net FDI flows to Kenya have not only been
highly volatile but also generally declined in the 1980s and 1990s. Kenya s total FDI
as a percentage of GDP rose from 4.21 percent in 1980 to 7.39 percent in 2000
however this declined to 5.17 percent in 2006 and currently FDI as a percentage of
GDP is a 7.52 percent (UNCTAD, 2014). The investment wave of the 1980s dwindled
in the 1990s as the institutions that had protected both the economy and the body
politic from arbitrary interventions were eroded. The FDI inflows to Kenya since

I m telling this story today to explain myself and my decisions, because I feel that
an explanation is due for my fans and my coworkers. I had expected everything to
go orderly for the filming of the fourth episode of season four of Devil s Kitchen. I
had walked onto that god forsaken set just as I had numerous times before. The flood
lights that adorned the scaffolding on the ceiling blared overhead and gave the whole
scene a radiant brilliance. Every part of the room was spotless and shining, and the
overwhelming stench of cleaning supplies floated through the air. The entire set was
separated into three sections. Walking in from the northern entrance, I spotted the
color coated kitchens to my right, occupying the entirety of that half... Show more
The red cushioned wooden chair, its color beginning to fade from all the times I
had used it, also had a golden trim outlining it. Overall, the entire set seemed almost
surreal, and it had a type of heavenly glow. This appearance, however, was merely a
facade. The show was anything but heavenly, and the set s qualities were in stark
contrast to the program s actual nature. The show s format and methodology was
simple. Every episode a group of cooks from three different restaurants would
appear on the show. They would compete in a series of challenges until only one
team remained. This team would take home the prize, and any shred of pride they
still had left. I usually arrived late on set, only to find the giddy, naive, and anxious
teams already set up and ready to go. So many groups of chefs came onto the show
that I rarely attempted to remember their names. After all, the formula of the show
didn t require me to. Each person was nothing more than an unimportant face,
distinguishable by color. I suppose their dehumanization helped me cope with what I
put them through. That day everything was exactly how it had been during previous
filmings. Keeping with my monotonous routine, I quickly got into position in front of
