Magical Realism In Beloved
From early classics like The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde to somewhat recent stories
like The Haunting of Hill House, it seems that no matter what great works are added to horror as
a whole, the genre is never given respect. Consequently, when highly respected works involve
horror elements, critics tend to describe these elements as magical realism to the effect of denying
that any high end literary novel could come from the horror genre. In this case Beloved, a magical
realism interpretation feels lacking because the title character is different from a fairytale ghost or
creature; she is a legitimate threat in the book who should not exist. The entire time Beloved is at

Stretching out her arms she tried to circle it around Sethe.
Firstly, Morrison draws out Beloved s entrance in the first paragraph, building up tension before it
is revealed to the reader that it is Beloved approaching. For the first three whole clauses of the
second sentence, there is no indication that this entrance is for any character readers know. It isn t
until the fourth clause that readers get a strong hint that the figure is Beloved, and the confirmation
that it s Beloved doesn t even come until the second paragraph. In this way, the belated inclusion of
her name almost jolts readers. The pacing feels slow, and the effect is to build tension in the
readers gradually for every clause in the second sentence with no real relief until Beloved s name is
mentioned afterward. This use of isolated clauses to create unease is also found when Beloved is
entering the house after the events in the clearing: Breathing and murmuring, breathing and
murmuring, Beloved heard them as soon as the door banged shut behind her, (page 118). Breathing
and murmuring is just an unusual clause; it puts emphasis on breathing, a normal human action,
and it s repeated twice. The effort Morrison puts into telling us Beloved is breathing makes her
seem abnormal, suggesting breathing is not a given for Beloved. Simultaneously, the repetition of
murmuring makes her seem unstable because of how murmuring is associated with obsessiveness.

Early Contractor Procurement Essays
Summary
Intro
What is early contractor procurement?
Early Contractor Procurement is a way to get the contractor involved before the construction phase
begins, (Mosey, 2011). The idea of this is to make use of the contractor and their knowledge and
understanding of the construction industry. This means fewer disputes over design issues.
When the client has invested time and money into design, and the contractor isn t involved, and
then is expected to complete all the work, it is likely for there to be disputes but the client would
be missing out on the contractor s ideas on how to save on costs. So is partnering up early on and
getting to know the job, the client and its goals the right way to go?
When this is done it is called ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Main contractors, subcontractors and suppliers join the project team as early as possible and
participate in appropriate stages of
Design review and specialist design contributions, including added value proposals n issues such as
sustainability;
Risk management and value engineering to reduce costs;
Price finalisation through second tier tenders or supplemental works package business cases;
Construction phase programming, to establish deadlines for the key deliverables of all parties;
(Mosey, 2011).
What is wrong with single stage tendering?
Single stage tendering prices are based on incomplete information. That the client has to
understand and take into consideration when looking into the risk of the project. This creates a
false sense of security and a situation where both parties are looking to pick holes in the design
work. Robert Smith calls it legalised gambling as the attractive apparent cost is balanced with the
sureness with transfer of risk (Smith, 1995) page 44, cited in (Mosey, 2011).
The single stage approach also excludes the contractor, its subcontractors and suppliers from
everything pre construction phase, meaning that they cannot contribute towards ways of saving
costs. So there is little that the client can do to make these changes as they didn t have this initial
communication (Mosey,

Marlin s Determination In The Movie Grit
There are many characters that display different levels of Grit throughout the course of the movie.
However between the father son relationship, Marlin wins the Grit prize because he proves that it
is possible to overcome a traumatic experience and although it was extremely difficult he got to
the point where he was able to become vulnerable again. He was real and expressed understandable
apprehension in situations that he had no control over. He truly deserves the credit because unlike
most of the other characters, he has been through a horrific ordeal. Although it is gradual and with
some prodding, Marlin develops the Gritit will take to step outside of his fears and embrace the
uncertainty that will come with... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of his naiveness he is much more inclined to charge into things that might other wise seem
dangerous.
One gritty characteristic that Nemo and his dad share by the end, is their determination. As I
mentioned in my Grit definition essay, this is the Grit that propels us forward to take risks and
helps us bounce back after rejection, failure, and in Marlin s case, loss. Marlin s determination
undergoes major development throughout the movie. But by the time Marlin wiggles his way out
of a pelicans throat, it is clear that Marlin is determined to find his son at any cost.
Nemo always displays quite a bit of determination although at first it is misconstrued as being
headstrong or willful. Upon hearing the encouraging news of his father s search for him, he
executes an especially daring feat with a sudden rejuvenated burst of determination. He displays
even more determination to be reunited with his father by pulling of a clever act that lands him in
the sewer and on his way to the ocean to find his father. Here Nemo showed another gritty trait
known as resilience. In the Perlis article, 5 Characteristics Of Grit: How Many Do You Have?, she
states Andrew Zolli s opinion on resilience which to him is, a dynamic combination of optimism,
creativity, and confidence, which together empower one to reappraise situations and regulate
emotion. (...

Differences Between Of Mice And Men
Of Mice and Men Movie Review I got you to look after me, and you got me to look after you.
The movie Of Mice and Men, directed by Gary Sinise in 1992, showed what life was like in rural
America during the Great Depression. The movie also showed how people feel loneliness and
alienated because they aren t accepted for their differences. Horton Foote, the screenwriter, did an
exceptional job of writing a script that was very similar to the book. The movie didn t take
anything away from John Steinbecks classic novel written fifty five years earlier. Although those
sections of the movie were nicely done, the setting and and acting of the movie occasionally
lacked believability. Of Mice and Men took place in the 1930s. George Milton and

Suspense In Way Up To Heaven
In the stories Live to Tell , Interlopers , and Way Up to Heaven the shared literary element is
suspense which gets developed through imagery. Each of these stories is unique in their own way.
However they all have one thing in common, suspense. Through settings and characters the authors
develop a great sense of tension and suspense which keeps the reader interested.
Suspense plays in important role in Live to Tell because it builds the mood and helps dramatize
the story to get the point across. This story has wonderful imagery that helps with adding more
effect to the suspense of the story. Then the sound I don t want to hear the whap whap of his

add more dramatization. You are anticipating what Evan is going to do next. You are sharing

This story does a great job of describing the characters relationship through imagery and setting.
Ulrich was silent for a few minutes, and lay listening to the weary screeching wind.(Saki,3) The
way the author described the wind added more effect to the suspense of the character waiting. It
helps us understand the emotions of the character. The two enemies stood glaring at one another for
a long silent moment. Each had a rifle in his hand, each had hate in his heart and murder uppermost
in his mind (Saki,2) By describing how the characters felt it helped us understand the relationship
between them. Deeply describing the characters relationship it makes the reader want to know what
they are going to do next. This helps us feel the hatred between the two

I am happy that the world pours money for children s betterment. Super majority of it go towards
materials that take care of the body. Wish there was more focus on the sustained care of the mind.

I am blessed with good fortune. Yet, I felt vulnerable. The storm experience rattled me

I was happy I spoke with Adeeb. At the start of the call, I wanted to do something that was good

powerful needs of the school children.

The Consequences And Extinction Of Animals By Climate...
The Consequences and the Extinction of Animals By Climate Change
The warnings about global warming have been extremely clear for a long time. We are facing a
global climate crisis. It is deepening. We are entering a period of consequences (Al Gore). Global
warming is a nationwide problem that is affecting people and the environment by the greenhouse
gases. Global warming increases the atmospheric temperature. For instance, the solar radiation is
reflected by the Earth s atmosphere. Earth s surface absorbs most of the radiation, and it warms it.
Part of the invisible light traverses the air. A few are immersed and transmitted in an outright
direction by pollutants molecules. The effect of global warming is an increased temperature of the
earth s surface and the lower atmosphere. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration (NOAA) which measures long lived greenhouse gases increased 37 percent from
1990 to 2015, and of that, carbon dioxide accounted for 80 percent of the increase (Keating 2). The
greenhouse gases are causing that the temperatures rise. Global warming is a huge problem that we
face today; it is caused by the greenhouse effect that leads to climate change and the extinction of
many animals.
Global warming is increasing the temperatures in our planet Earth leading to climate change. The
primary reason for global warming is the human development of the greenhouse effect causing
natural disasters. Shaftel declares that Global climate

Computer Dynamic s Current Data And Communication Network
The purpose of this report is to assess Computer Dynamic s current data and communication
network. The objective of the report is to offer a proposed solution for a modern network that meets
the organisation s needs. A review of existing network was conducted; school management and
number of students were observed. Current network performance was provided by the management.
A physical assessment of the whole school was conducted. Findings The existing network is
exhibiting congestion, bottlenecks, poor speed and is not adequate for growth in line with company
strategy . There is no physical connection between the two buildings occupied by the organisation.
The school is already sharing information through a VPN site to site tunnel. The current VPN
approach throughout the school is not efficient. There is currently a disaster recovery opportunity
in place of school data. Recommendations An investment is required to form a physical network
connection between the school, Fibre Optic is suggested. An investment in layer 3 switching
technology is recommended to take advantage of the Fibre Optic upgrade An investment in
hardware for disaster recovery is highly recommended. Two major departments should consider
moving to Cloud based technology to replace existing applications. 1 ANALYSIS OF USER

The Banking Concept of Education and The Achievement of Desire
Education is a topic that can be explored in many ways. Education is looked at in depth by both
Richard Rodriguez in his essay, The Achievement of Desire , and by Paulo Freire in his essay, The
Banking Concept of Education. After reading both essays, one can make some assumptions about
different methods of education and exactly by which method Rodriguez was taught. The types of
relationships Rodriguez had with his teachers, family and in life were affected by specific styles
of education. Based on Freire s essay, The Banking Concept of Education , there are two types of
education styles. We will use these educational styles to look at how they affected... Show more

The idea that information is deposited from a teacher into a student fits the majority of
Rodriguez s educational experiences. As a young child, Rodriguez feels that books were going
to make [him] educated (Rodriguez 578). He never questioned what he was told by his teachers
or what he read in any book. He didn t develop ideas of his own or any critical thinking skills.
Rodriguez says that he was a great mimic; a collector of thoughts, not a thinker; the very last
person in class who ever feels obliged to have an opinion of his own (Rodriguez 581). This type of
education helps us to understand the relationships Rodriguez had with his mentor Richard Hoggart,
as well as his school teachers and parents.
Rodriguez initially uses Hoggart s book to categorize and describe his own experience as a
student. Once he reads Hoggart s work he finally feels that he has identified himself. He
recognizes the separation of home and school and how it is necessary to have this separation to
become the type of student he desires, an elite student. Separation from his family and culture is
necessary because Rodriguez sees the two as separate worlds. He must be removed from his
original culture and family life to achieve the scholarly elite status. He had to devote himself to his
studies, which leaves him no time for a family. After Rodriguez claims himself a to be an elite
student, he justifies the steps he took in

A Summary Of Sherman Alexie
Sherman Alexie had a different mindset than the other Indian kids on the reservation. He was
smart and arrogant with the mindset and discipline to the refusal to fail. His will not be put into
the stereotype set by the non Indian world around him. He would not be denied the opportunity
to better his future despite the hatred that he experienced on a daily basis. To guarantee that he
would not fail he began reading at any given point in time he had. He would read before and
after class, before and after bed, etc. etc. At any given time Sherman Alexie would read anything
Green 2 that had words and paragraphs. He read everything from novels that his father brought
home all the way up to cereal boxes with words. To some growing up on a reservation with no
education, the ones who do receive a formal education or tea themselves are often looked down
upon by the other Indians. They look at them as if they are dangerous to the society because they
are more advanced and skilled than they are. Sherman Alexie often had issues in school with
some of the other kids because of this skill that he possessed. Alexie appeals to the audience and
builds his credibility by describing where he comes from. Alexie is an Indian who spent his youth
facing childhood on an Indian reservation in Spokane Washington. He discusses how poor his
family was and how they, lived on a combination of irregular paychecks, hope, fear, and
government surplus food. (14) He says this to demonstrate that he didn t

9.10.2 Clotting System
3.9.10.2.2 Clotting system The resultant factor XIIa causes thrombin activation, which in turn
cleaves circulating soluble fibrinogen to generate an insoluble fibrin. Factor Xa an intermediate in
the clotting cascade, causes increase in vascular permeability and leukocyte emigration. Thrombin
participates in inflammationby enhancing leukocyte adhesion to endothelium and by generating
fibrinopeptides that increase vascular permeability and are chemotactic for leukocytes. While
activated Hageman factor is inducing clotting, it is concurrently activating the fibrinolytic system.

Spongebob Vs. Squidward Tentacles
Nickelodeon s Spongebob Squarepants has two main characters, Spongebob (of course) and
Squidward Tentacles. The two have some similarities but many difference between each other. Even
though they both live under the sea and next neighbors, it s clear that they are two different
characters.
One obvious difference between Mr. Tentacles and Squarepants is their appearance. For one,
Spongebob is a yellow sponge where Squidward is, well a gray squid. Spongebob has only four
limbs and Squidward has eight. One is a long, lanky character and the other is more of a short,
stubby individual. It s clear when you look at Spongebob, you see his white shirt, brown box pants,

Spongebob is a joyful character that loves life itself. Squidward just seems to mope and

knows to shut Spongebob out of life. Squidward is more of a matured character because he doesn
t goof around like Spongebob does with his best friend, Patrick. Kind of explains why Squidward is
continuously yelling at him and telling him to grow up.
Spongebob and Squidward (like their personalities) have interest in absolutely two different
things. For example, Spongebob loves his job work as a fry cook as compared to Squidward, who
hates the fact that he even works as a cashier for Mr. Krabs. Spongebob loves to go jellyfishing
with Patrick while Squidward enjoy staying in his house to play his clarinet, Claire. When it
comes to food, Spongebob s favorite food is the Krabby Patty and jelly from jellyfish. Squidward s
taste buds are completely different because he likes the taste of bread in a can.
There are a couple of similarities that Spongebob and Squidward share when you see the two on tv.
Both characters work for Mr. Eugene Krabs, himself. Even though, Squidward hates being around

Betrayal of Gender Roles in Fairy Tales
Fairy tales are one of the most well read genres, including classic fairy tales such as the Disney
version of Snow White One of the identifying features of this genre is the use of gender roles and
the way it endorses certain values in regards to male and female. However, throughout the years
fairy tales have undergone great changes, towards the view of woman representation and gender
roles. In the contemporary Snow White the values of classical fairy tales have changed offering a
new perspective of gender roles and how women are represented.
In a contemporary version of Snow White by The Merseyside Fairy Story Collective, where a
young girl named Snow White and her friends the dwarfs are miners for the Queen and they
fought against her, who ruled over the people. Snow White was to live in the castle and to create
jewels for the Queen. The Queen asked the mirror who is the happiest in the land. The mirror was
interpreted as a symbol of communism which showed gender inequality. In the contemporary Snow
White, the mirror showed the Queen the workers and showed her what they were doing. For
example, the Queen could see what was happening anywhere in her kingdom. When she looked
into the mirror and saw any of her subjects doing things which displeased her she sent soldiers to
punish them (Merseyside 74). Perhaps the mirror was giving the Queen too much

Comparing Plato And Beauty By Hofstadter And Kuhns
Talon Kingfisher Dr. McKeon Art Theory 2 23 February, 2017 Plato and Ion To Plato, the world
and mind set is a mimesis of the true absolute world. That all shapes found by definition here is
transcendent in the realm that is greater and above this reality. When applying this belief of
ideal concepts in forms to our world, Plato then can theorize importance of professions here
based on its direction to those praised forms above. In Art Beauty by Hofstadter and Kuhns, Plato
s written works from 400 B.C. can map out his philosophy on artworks. We particularly find that
Plato creates a distinction between poetry and art works as two different classes. Plato seeks a
higher reality than the imminent one around us, therefore, everything he finds of art and anything
else here in this reality will ultimately be based on its true form. We can find these answers in Ion

In the Republic, Plato centers any form of creating something as poiesis no matter what is being

of creating by us no matter if we technically crafted it or was possessed and forced to make the

rule leaving it similar, but not the same. We can assemble poetry with our minds making it our

Then there is the knowledge or understanding in how to manipulate the medium. This is the

At this point I hope you re starting to see that cannabis isn t nearly half as bad as everybody

because the cannabis is 100% natural. The only possible way to over dose is if you consume close

The weekly salons she held in her Paris apartment became a magnet for European and American
artists and writers alike, and her support of Matisse, Braque, Girls, and Picasso was evident in
her many acquisitions of their work. For Picasso, this early patronage and friendship was of
major importance. Picasso s portrait of the expatriate writer was begun in 1905, at the end of his

wearing her favorite brown velvet coat and skirt. Her impressive demeanor and massive body

1 Corinthians 4
Castelli articulates significant questions for how to understand Paul in 1 Corinthians 4:14 21.
While certain commentators dismiss her critiques as strictly modern and without valid basis, she
does highlight a reading of this passage which is textually valid particularly with how mimesis
functioned in the broader Greco Roman culture. Moreover, despite what Paul s intention was it
does not change the fact that he is often used to reinforce social hierarchy and squash dissent.
Castelli provides a valuable counter balance to those usages. However, it is the centrality of the
cross underlying Paul s teaching in 1 Corinthians 4 which can liberate readers from Castelli s
critical interpretation. By focusing on the cross and the life of discipleship

of his names on appearance. For instance, Zits sees a young Indian boy while he is in the body of
Gus and he observes that the Indian can t be more than five years old and he holds a bow (pg.
59). Zits then refers to this character as Bow Boy for the remainder of the book (pg. 59). Zits
uses this method for naming almost every character he meets. Characters that he likes are given
names such as Small Saint while characters he feels anger toward often remain unnamed (pg. 61).
For example, Zits mother, father and grandfather are never mentioned by name. Zits method of
naming also reveals how he feels about himself. I m ashamed that I look like a bag of zits tied to a
broomstick (pg. 9). Therefore, his name reveals how he

Mediterranean Diet
Mediterranean Diet Effect on Patient Health What are the benefits of a Mediterranean diet? A
Mediterranean diet, according to the American Heart Association has consumption of large
amounts of fruits, vegetables, bread, and cereals, potatoes, beans and nuts and seed. With moderate
to low amounts of dairy products, fish, and poultry and little red meat eaten. Which creates a
question of interest of how does a Mediterranean diet affect overall healthin a person if they
changed their current diet to a Mediterranean diet within weeks or a year? This paper will
summarize five scholarly articles on studies done to see the effects of a Mediterranean diet on the

health promotion model can be related to the four concepts of nursing which are the person,
environment, health and nursing. It also relates to the evidence based nursing question of does a
Mediterranean diet affect the overall health in a person if they changed theirs within a year?
With the health promotion model, an individual who changes their behavior or their normal diet
of choice to a healthy Mediterranean diet can have overall better health outcomes. It can be
difficult to achieve for an individual who lives in an environment where it creates a barrier to
finding sources for the basic need to eat a Mediterranean diet. Even if the environment the
individual lives does not provide or have the option to choose from choices of a Mediterranean
diet. For example, if the individual or patient lives in an environment where there are more fast
food places that do not have a menu option for the individual to obtain their nutritional need from,
then they are most likely not able to convert their routine to a Mediterranean diet easily. So this is
where once again a nurse can play a role in teaching the individual or patient on ways to easily
consume a Mediterranean diet that fits and works around their environment and

Memphis Tennessee Case Study
Memphis, Tennessee is listed in the top five most violent cities in America. Memphis homicide
rate is close to two hundred and we have one more month to go before the end of 2016.
Description of Interest
Something has to change. This is what I have been telling myself over and over again. In the
city of Memphis, we have mothers killing their children. We have youths beating adults with
crow bars while robbing them of their money. We have other youths being convicted of killing a
mother who was a pizza delivery worker who refused to give up her money. We have poverty areas
that need daycare resources as well as tools to help single mothers. We also have too many
students being expelled from school due to various reasons. I decided ... Show more content on

An educational journey consists of effective study habits which will require researching various
sources, managing personal/family life, and balancing work and school. Research is very
important. It will either hurt you or help you, depending on your research skills and time
management skills. Research helps link one s ideas to true and tested studies that can help prove a
stance on a particular subject matter. When one is able to provide information backed up by
empirical studies, one s information can begin to flourish. For example, think about the various
magazines that are sold nationwide. The National Enquirer is seen to be a false, untrue magazine
that provides information about subject matters that are not even true. Even though, the National
Enquirer is a great attention getter, there are surmountable people who know the stories printed
inside are not believable. In regards to research, students should seek out reputable sources that
can enhance their writing skills which in turn will help to write a better paper. Research provides
valuable knowledge for the student. The student may already know the information but the
research will give added seasoning to that knowledge. Just like cooking, one knows how to cook a
turkey but, it s the seasonings that will bring the turkey to life. Those seasoning ideas may come
from various individuals.

Moser Vocational Rehabilitation
People with disabilities struggle to find employment opportunities and retain positions. The U.S.
Department of Labor s Bureau of Labor statistics reported that 17.5% of people with disabilities
were employed. This is much lower than the 65% of people without a disability (BLS, 2016).
People with disabilities may struggle to find employment due to limited training and educational
opportunities and restrictions on mobility. They encounter negative stigma from employers and
peers who may feel that modifications will be needed to assist limitations (Elliot Leung, 2004).

Popular Culture In The 80 s
The sixties and the nineties were very different from eachother. Popular culture has changed a lot
since then and society is also very different from today. The sixties and the nineties were about
creativity, free thinking, youth and expression. The people, fashions, music, and issues are what
defined pop culturein the 1960 s and its influence on pop culture in the 1990 s.
In the early sixties, one of the biggest influences in fashion was Jackie Kennedy. In the late sixties,
the mod look was very fashionable. The people who followed this trend wore mini skirts and
boots. On the other hand, peasant dresses, bell bottom jeans, tie dyed clothing, and long skirts were

There is not a single genre of music that can define either the 1960 s or the 1990 s. There was
folk music from Bob Dylan; R B influenced music from Motown and the Rolling Stones; rock
music from the Beach Boys; and psychedelic music from the Doors and Pink Floyd. Many new
types of music evolved in the nineties.
These genres that evolved the most, were rap music and hip hop. Underground alternative rock
also became very mainstream. In 1969, the Woodstock music festival symbolized peace and love.
Civil rights disruptions, racial tensions and very dissimilar opinions about the involvement in the
Vietnam war, all of these are what the 1960 s are known for. People were very fervent about their
beliefs and ideas, some people were willing to give up their lives.
People were becoming increasingly averse to the Vietnam war and did not hold back when it
came to expressing their opinions. The idea of the feminist movement and free love were
publicized by the extensive approval of the birth control pill. The people of the sixties were not

Dysfunctional Family In The Virgin Suicides
Dysfunctional is defined as abnormal or unhealthy interpersonal behavior or interaction within a
group ( Dysfunction ). The effects of the dysfunctional families can greatly impact the children in
the family. How the children display the effects can vary. In The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey
Eugenides, the Lisbon sisters are forced to obey their strict Catholic parents, which eventually
leads them to take their own lives. In The Perks of Being a Wallflower directed by Stephen
Chbosky, Charlie believes he is the reason why his aunt died, which causes him to isolate himself

main characters isolate themselves as a result of their dysfunctional families, which can be seen

Through dialogue said by Therese, the isolation of the Lisbon girls can be seen as a result of the
suicide of their family member. Therese and Kevin had gone outside for some fresh air during
the Homecoming dance and Therese asked why they were asked out. She asked if her sisters and

Night Shyamalan s Newest Horror Movie
Although the concept of a grandma scurrying around on all fours during the late hours of the
night is quite unsettling, M. Night Shyamalan s newest horror movie, The Visit, just simply is not
that horrific. Be relieved! It is not quite as bad as some of his past projects including The Last
Airbender (which received a mere 6% rating on Rotten Tomatoes) and After Earth (which
surprisingly reached an 11% review from critics on Rotten Tomatoes). Both were rewarded with
overwhelmingly bad reviews and had a negative affect on his career.
The Visit had a five million dollar budget and was filmed over 30 days as a result of Shyamalan
attempting to be skinny and work with under a time and strict money budget. He said he was
striving to shoot fast and with a kind of leaner, tighter mentality (Guerrasio). He may have

Planning For An Emergency Operation Plan
Planning is a way of preparing for an event that will happen in the future. Some plans are
relatively straightforward, and others are complex and can take months to finalize. Plans are a
means to achieve the desired result. Once the result is identified, you work backward to
determine what steps will be necessary to achieve the result or goal. This process also applies to
disaster preparedness planning. To better understand what the goals or end results should be for
an emergency operation plan (EOP), it is necessary to study and analyze post incident reports
from recent events. There will always be lessons to learn from every incident regardless of size or
complexity. The military recognized this fact and established a means of sharing post information
incident with what has become to be known as an After Action Review (AAR). This review
addresses what, why, and how events occurred. Originally, AARs were an informal debrief that
compares the intended outcome versus the actual result of an event. The primary focus of the AAR
is for the participants to examine their actions and learn from what went right and wrong during an
event, which will facilitate to better decision making in future events. Since their inception, AARs
have advanced and are found in formal and informal settings. Many post disasters documentation
include some form of an AAR to document the lessons learned from the incident. From these
lessons learned, planners should review previous disaster events,

Sexual Promiscuity In Aldous Huxley s Brave New World
Brave New World by British writer Aldous Huxley shows how the future will bring inevitable
totalitarian government to the world. The world is a dark utopian government that manufactures
the production of human beings, but along with the totalitarian government push comes isolation,
drug abuse, sexual promiscuity, and freedom. Featured in the book heavily is the theme of sexual
promiscuity. We are shown how open each character is about their sexual forwardness, but we
also see how disconnected sex is with the manufacturing of humans, the idea of sex is used merely
as a distraction instead of expressing emotional intimacy for one another. There is section from the

People are seen as being part of a class and each citizen has a certain class of alienation which
includes appearance, intellect, and morals. People are usually alienated because of their
individuality. According to John the Savage, a character from the book, was alienated in both
savage culture and world state culture. He was shown as being different to the indians on the
reservation. With the excerpt why wouldn t they let me be the sacrifice? shows that with his
appearance compared to the indians of the reservations he was not allowed to participate in
some acts of their culture due to the way he looks. When he goes to England he is once again
shown as being isolated by wanting to keep true to his savage nature and trying to conform to
the world state standards. Another character that portrays alienation is Helmholtz Watson, an
alpha plus, who is much smarter and stronger than the other alpha s. This leads him to perform
test and experiments that are not accepted by the world state which leads him to exile. This can
easily be compared to the totalitarian dictatorship government of North Korea. The citizens of
North Korea have no exposure to the outside world and according to their leader, Kim Jong Un,
they are the pinnacle of the world. The residents North Korea have little to no access of outside
information and due to the misinformation they are exposed to they are lead to believe their

Emily Grierson Symbolism
German philosopher Friedrich W. Nietzsche said, All things are subject to interpretation. Whichever
interpretation prevails at a given time is a function of power and not truth. In William Faulkner s A
Rose for Emily, the early twentieth century American South was undergoing major changes. And
for some, the power of their negative interpretation of change prevailed against the reality of their
own truth. In this essay, Faulkner s utilization of literary elements will be broken down in hopes of
the reader reaching a better understanding of how the theme is represented in his narrative; that

Throughout the narrative, the distinguished theme that eluding involuntary changes in life can
cause harmful and even fatal consequences is repeatedly expressed through previously
mentioned character, plot, and setting symbols. Such as, Emily being introduced at her funeral
as a fallen monument due to her timeless concrete foundation that never changes until her death.
Next, Emily s lack of progression within herself as well as her neglected physical appearance is

During the course of this year, I was exposed to technology and its mechanisms. This allowed me
to ponder on the possible technological career paths I could venture on. Prior to researching, I had

software and website developing. Therefore, I researched and reviewed information about security
software developers and multimedia architects. I created the Evaluation Matrix for Choosing a

Security software developers got the equivalent score as multimedia architects, but under the
weighted score, it scored only a few points off physical therapist. The difference between the
weighted score of a physical therapist and multimedia architects was 0.3 points.
All three of these careers include multiple examples of emerging technologies that help them act
efficiently. For instance, recently security software developers have been using cloud servers to
protect their information. This technology will allow developers to store the different type of
security software they create. The cloud will let them protect virtual software such as firewalls
and cyber security systems. (Mellow Jr., 2017) A major limitation of using the cloud is financial
circumstances. (Ward, 2017) The majority of cloud applications are freeware but do not include all
features. This would mean that one would have to pay a certain amount in order to customize and
add necessary features. Also, since the cloud is internet based the information made by security
software developers may not be safe. This all means security software developers need advanced
security features to maintain protection on their virtual software.
A popular new emerging technology for a physical therapist to use is virtual rehabilitation. This new
technology allows physical therapists to treat their patients with captivating, game like scenarios.

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Leadership
The first step to analyzing my personal leadership practices is to evaluate my strengths and
weaknesses as a leader. One of the tools used to evaluate my leadership profile is the Seven Habits
Profile, attached to this analysis.
After completing this Seven Habits profile, some of the leadership strengths and weaknesses I
knew I possessed were reinforced with the results of this survey. Scoring highest, were my strengths
of putting first things first and sharpening the saw. These two strengths were followed closely by
a third place tie of being in tune with my emotional bank account and ability to be proactive.
Scoring lowest were my two greatest weaknesses, which are seeking first to understand and life
balance. Tied in third place as weaknesses are thinking win win and synergize.
One of my highest scoring strengths is my ability to put first things first. This came to me as no
surprise, as I see this dominant characteristic in almost every aspect of my life. Whether
professionally or personally, my ability to see what needs to get done coupled with my drive to
cross things off my to do list has been a strength of mine as far back as I can remember. My
personality is inclined to work first, play later. I tend to enjoy work and personal life at a greater
capacity when I know there are no pressing matters to tend to.
Another strength identified in the Seven Habits Profile is my ability to sharpen the saw. Personal

The Importance Of Generations
You can take as much as you can from the generation that has preceded you, but then it s up to you
to make something new. Jackson Browne. Generations have always had an impact on each other,
but something that is big is the fact that generation now are changing more and more than the last,
and while a generation like us are taught by a generation like our parents each generation isn t
learningand living as much like the past. Generations described by me are what we are
influenced by most with our political views, our life choices, our traditions and more. The
generation before ours is what we are sculpted to be like. But what I also believe what is
important about generations is three different ideas of generations. There is the actual definition
of generations, what generations are supposed to be about, and what generations are actually and
how they are actually defined culturally. Generations defined by google is: All of the people born
and living at about the same time, regarded collectively. Generations are what all of us at a certain
time are referred to. What mass people are dealing with whether it be in the past where the
generations dealt with the great depression, or in the future when the generations deal with a new
president. It defined is about what the people of a certain time are dealing with collectively.
Generations are what the world uses to improve itself and what it uses to really create different
perspectives on what the world is about and how it

Through the use of Smalley s advance laser, laurites were able to create clusters of carbon 60 and
70 atoms (The Discovery). These buckyballs formed when graphene was evaporated into an inert

birth to new questions, ultimately expanding the field of practical uses in the real world today.
Buckypaper is a small molecular structure that is most commonly associated with the shape of a
soccer ball. About 1/50000th the diameter of a single human hair, this incredibly small material
possesses superior properties that make it a remarkably great conductor for both heat and
electricity (Ray B). Its small, yet effective, attributes are a result of the powerful atomic bonds
found within unique molecular fibers of these nanostructures (Boyd J). About 100 times stronger
than steel and only one sixth of its total weight, buckypaper is the perfect replacement for all
composite materials currently used to construct aerodynamic crafts (Boyd J). The molecular size of
buckypaper s nanospheric structure has made production both a very tedious and expensive task.

Analysis Of The Arch Of Constantine
The Arch of Constantine
The Arch of Constantine is located along the Via Triumphalis in Rome, situated between both the
Colosseum and the Temple of Venus and Roma. Along the width of the arch, there are three arches
with partially engaged Corinthian columns. The arch is about 20 meters high, 25 meters wide, and
7 meters deep. At the central opening, it is almost 12 meters high, with identical inscribed marble
panels above, one on each side, that read:
To the Emperor Caesar Flavius Constantinus, the Greatest, pious, fortunate, the Senate and people
of Rome, by inspiration of divinity and his own great mind with his righteous arms on both the
tyrant and his faction in one instant in rightful battle he avenged the republic, dedicated this arch as
a memorial to his military victory
The most amazing features of the Arch are the relief sculptures. Many of the sculptures are
standard roman art, like the Nike figures above the central archway. Other elements show a
multiplicity of styles. In fact, many of the sculptures of the arch were reused building stone or
sculptures taken away from older monuments dating around the 2nd century C.E. The origins of the
sculptures, with their imperial style, are resembled to those of the reigns of Trajan, Hadrian, and
Marcus Aurelius. Most of the reliefs feature the emperors participating in activities that demonstrate
their authority and piety by addressing troops and defeating enemies.

of Japan s retail industry as a whole.
Seven eleven Japan developed an extensive franchise network and performed a key role in the

How did they achieve the market dominance strategy? Seven eleven Japan opened the majority of
its new stores in areas with existing clusters of stores.
This gave them 6 advantages: 1. Boosted distribution efficiency 2. Improved brand awareness 3.
Increased system efficiency 4. Enhanced efficiency of franchise support services 5. Improved

The Power of Great Expectations and Jane Eyre Essay example
The Power of Great Expectations and Jane Eyre
Many novels have been written in many different eras. Each era has its `reform novel or piece of
literature, or pieces of work that broke the mold . For the Greeks, it was Homer s Odyssey; for the
Renaissance, it was The Essays: Of Cannibals by Michel de Montaigne; for the Medieval era, it was
Dante Alighieri s Inferno. It was the same in the Victorian era, which ran from 1850 to about 1900.
The reform authors were Charlotte BrontГ« and Charles Dickens. These two authors wrote Jane
Eyre and Great Expectations, respectively. Through these novels, the authors have epitomized the
Victorian era with gothic elements, Byronic heroes, importance of society, and round and flat ...

Jane acquired a job as a governess at an, apparently, single man s home, tutoring is young ward.
Needless to say, Mr. Rochester and Jane fell in love. However, Jane did not want to marry. Except
that her love grows too strong, Jane puts aside her stubbornness for love.
My future husband was becoming to me my whole world; and more than the world: almost my
hope of heaven. He stood between me and every thought of religion, as an eclipse intervenes
between man and the broad sun. I could not, in those days, see God for his creature: of whom I
had made an idol. (BrontГ«: ch 25)
Jane then relents and marries Rochester. Jane made the journey from explosive, to independent, to
in love; a true journey for a woman in the Victorian era.
Pip, the main character of Great Expectations, is an orphaned boy who is one the quintessential
round characters. When Pip is first introduced, he is an easily influenced young boy living with
his sister, Mrs. Joe, and her husband, Joe Gargery. When Pip was asked to steal from Mrs. Joe and
Joe by a convict, he could hardly live with himself:
If I slept at all that night, it was only to imagine myself drifting down the river on a strong spring
tide, to the Hulks; a ghostly pirate calling out to me through a speaking trumpet, as I passed the
gibbet station, that I had better come ashore and be hanged there at once, and not put it off. I was
afraid to sleep, even if I had been inclines, for I knew that at the

Describe How To Train Research Paper
Most people never really think about it, but those in martial arts, police, military, fire/rescue or
other high stress occupations may want to try to control the response that they experience due to
the fact that some individuals will freeze when startled, surprised or under extreme stress. If you
are able to control or affect a more desired reaction, then you will be able to respond to
emergencies in a calmer manner.
*****
How to Train
An immediate response to a surprise attack is crucial defensive training in the disciplines of martial
arts and police work. With proper training your body can be programed to react with the
appropriate response.
Martial arts practitioners are trained to quickly respond to specific attacking scenarios. Law
enforcement (LEO) and military personnel learn to respond to attacks by drawing a weapon or
searching for cover. These type of swift responses are only learned through constant and repetitive

As you sit or stand in a relaxed state you know that the sudden sound is coming but you don t
know when. The noise level should be loud enough to provoke an adequate response. Your
relaxed state will help to alleviate some of the surge of adrenaline in the beginning of your
training and with consistent practice (once or twice a day) your body will actually use the
startle response as a signal to relax. Even if you don t get to this point you can still condition
yourself to cover, retreat or attack when startled instead of freezing. Choose one response, stick
with it and practice it over and over. You can also get someone to help you by jumping out at you
at unsuspected times (yes, kind of like Cato in the old Pink Panther movies). Just be sure that you
don t hurt them if your desired reaction is to attack or you will quickly lose a training

Itco321 Unit 1 Research Paper
Unit 3 IP ITCO321 Anthony Thurman Stacks are containers of objects that are inserted and then
removed according to Last In First Out (LIFO). This means that the last item inserted will be the
first item removed. Inserting an item is referred to as Pushing, while removing an item is called
Popping. A queue works a little different than a stack does, in that it follows First In First Out. So
rather than having the last object removed first, the first object is removed first. Elements can be
inserted at any time, but the only element that can be removed is the one that has been in the
queue the longest. Pseudo code: Stack Using Push, Pop, and Peek Start Program Push(10) Push

I Am Depressed And Hungry
I am poor. I am depressed and hungry. I have nothing and own nothing. Survival is difficult.
Every night, I sleep outside, in the boiling sun or in the freezing moonlight, on the hard ground.
Whether it is hailing or raining, I sleep there with my mama and sister. But it never snows or rains
here. We have no water.
In the morning, I wake up early, hungry, bony, and weak. My mama can t afford breakfast like you
can. Nothing lives here, so we are lucky if we find a few strands of grass.
Today, my mama found a few bright red seeds. We tried to eat them, but we were too weak to
crack them open. The sun had made them as hard as pebbles. We are still hungry.
Mama and my sister, Heyla, made necklaces, pretending the seeds were beads. They really did
look wonderful, but Mama knew we had to sell them.
I walked with Heyla, barefoot, on the rock covered ground. It had cracks in it from all the heat and
sunlight. Heyla and I panted to the village miles away, the stones and solid pieces of dirt sticking
painfully into our feet. The kids in the village had food and shoes. They even had schools and
homes. They were lucky.
Heyla entered the village gates first, but we both gasped at its sight. It looked like a paradise to us.
All those things. . . .
I wish we could live here, Heyla. Mama would be so much happier, I told my sister.
She nodded, but didn t answer. We both knew we couldn t afford life here. Ever since Papa died,
the villagers kicked us out.
At first when the villagers saw

Positive And Negative Effects Of Single Parent Families
The number children being raised in single parent households is continuously growing. There are
positive and negative effects for children that grow up in this type of a household. Children who
only live with one parent tend to have better financial and educational advantages. Single parent
homes can impact several aspects of a child s life. Children see their parentas being very
independent, and often they learn to be independent too. The parent raising the childhas the biggest
effecton the child. How the child is raised can affect many different outcomes of the child s life
(Kunz, 2015, April 15). One big effect single parent households have is that one parent is absent.
This can cause a child to perform poorly in school. Generally, single parent households are run by
the mother and the father is absent. Often times when the parent is only receiving one income, they
work more often. This can cause the child to receive less attention and have less help with their
homework. The effect that the other parent, not living in the house, has on the child is huge. It is
proven that children tend to do better in school and in life in general when both parents are
involved in their life. Only having one income in the household makes it at risk for poverty. When
children live in poverty it can have many emotional effects on them. Some children feel
abandonment, loneliness, sadness, and troubles with socializing or connecting with others.
Children also feel the emotions of low

while learning about aspects of Mexican culture. Readers can learn about round, square, triangular,
rectangular, and star shaped objects all while being introduced to some Spanish words and Mexican
locations.
The book was okay, not bad but not amazing either. I can imagine that there are better books for
children that can better showcase aspects of Mexican culture. At one point in the book, the zГіcalo
is introduced, which is a plaza in Mexico City, Mexico. This was an interesting part, but the book
does not explain what the zГіcalo is, I found this out through looking up the word. Based on the
zГіcalo being in Mexico City, I assumed the entire

Analysis Of The Movie The Picture
Chapter One
The Picture
Damien awoke to the sound of marching Kill Droids in the street. His head ached and his eyes
were heavy from the all nighter he pulled. It was morning. Sitting up from his mattress on the
floor, he could see the light from his window outlining the corners and details of his room. The
dusty brown walls. Their were cracks and parts of the wall paper were tearing off. The tan carpet
floor and dark stains here and their. He could also see how messy his room was, which was
strange because he s usually quiet tidy. Magazines, notes, and blue prints scattered across the floor.
He could also see the cans of Citrus Acid energy drink around the recycling bin. It was getting full.
He motivated himself to get up and began ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His room was even messier than his. Cody s room smelled of musk. Damien maneuvered his way
around all the trash around his floor and stood between Cody and the window.
Cooodyyy, he whispered, I m gonna opened the window.
Noooo. Cody responded.
I m gonna do it.
Noooooo.
Openin the window.
Nooo AHHH!
The room became bright as the window gleamed off the trash and whatever else was on the small
floor.
It s trash day, hurry up and pick up anything that could be recyclable.
I ll get it later.
Get it now, we need to hurry up before the fallout gets full. Just leave it outside your door, I ll get
it when I come back.
Okay. Get dressed if you want to come with me.
Fine, just get out of my room.
Cody was normally a very nice and energetic, except for in the mourning. Cody and Damien
looked very similar aside from their height and skin. They both had dirt brown hair and similar
facial features. Damien had darker tan skin, brown eyes, and neck length messy hair. Cody had
paler skin, blue eyes, and short hair. Damien went back into the tight hallway. He took a deep
breath, thankful to get away from that smell. He went into his cousin Angie s door. Angie was an
adult woman so he didn t want to go into her room. He knocked on the door. It opened to find his
happy and energetic cousin. Angie had always been a morning person. Angie had pale skin,
blonde messy hair, and brown eyes. She was very tall and slim. She greeted him with her deep

Mr. Burns, A Post Electric Play
With the title alone, it is easy to assume that Mr. Burns, A Post Electric Play would not be a
typical play. Unlike other performances, Mr. Burns is not a simple narrative. Quite literally, it is
a play within a play. The narrative lacks structure due to how it stands as a social commentary on
the importance of entertainment to society. Mr. Burns began after what seems to be a traumatic
event that has affected everyone s way of life. From what we see as our survivors huddled around
a campfire in the woods. They recount a normalcy of how life used to be, an episode of The
Simpsons. Throughout the recounts on what happened in the episode Cape Feare , the play
introduces a new character which gives exposition to the current landscape of the United States. As
the play continues into its second and third act, there is a large shift on the scenery, lighting, etc. as
the cast begins to recreate the episode of The Simpsons which they discuss in the previous act.
While it is easy to get lost on why everything is happening, why they are performing, it comes to
the central conflict of reclaiming normalcy of the world which has past, an episode of television. As
the performance goes on, the costume designrepresents where our characters are at in their
timeline. While, in the first act, the characters are dressed in stereotypical post apocalyptic attire, it
does vary in from what we are presented in the last two acts. Around the campfire, the characters
are dressed in

Magical Realism In Beloved From early classics like The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde to somewhat recent stories like The Haunting of Hill House, it seems that no matter what great works are added to horror as a whole, the genre is never given respect. Consequently, when highly respected works involve horror elements, critics tend to describe these elements as magical realism to the effect of denying that any high end literary novel could come from the horror genre. In this case Beloved, a magical realism interpretation feels lacking because the title character is different from a fairytale ghost or creature; she is a legitimate threat in the book who should not exist. Firstly, Morrison draws out Beloved s entrance in the first paragraph, building up tension before it is revealed to the reader that it is Beloved approaching. For the first three whole clauses of the second sentence, there is no indication that this entrance is for any character readers know. It isn t until the fourth clause that readers get a strong hint that the figure is Beloved, and the confirmation that it s Beloved doesn t even come until the second paragraph. In this way, the belated inclusion of her name almost jolts readers. The pacing feels slow, and the effect is to build tension in the readers gradually for every clause in the second sentence with no real relief until Beloved s name is mentioned afterward. This use of isolated clauses to create unease is also found when Beloved is entering the house after the events in the clearing: Breathing and murmuring, breathing and murmuring, Beloved heard them as soon as the door banged shut behind her, (page 118). Breathing and murmuring is just an unusual clause; it puts emphasis on breathing, a normal human action, and it s repeated twice. The effort Morrison puts into telling us Beloved is breathing makes her seem abnormal, suggesting breathing is not a given for Beloved. Simultaneously, the repetition of murmuring makes her seem unstable because of how murmuring is associated with obsessiveness. Looking at these two ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Early Contractor Procurement is a way to get the contractor involved before the construction phase begins, (Mosey, 2011). The idea of this is to make use of the contractor and their knowledge and understanding of the construction industry. This means fewer disputes over design issues. When the client has invested time and money into design, and the contractor isn t involved, and then is expected to complete all the work, it is likely for there to be disputes but the client would be missing out on the contractor s ideas on how to save on costs. What is wrong with single stage tendering? Single stage tendering prices are based on incomplete information. That the client has to understand and take into consideration when looking into the risk of the project. This creates a false sense of security and a situation where both parties are looking to pick holes in the design work. Robert Smith calls it legalised gambling as the attractive apparent cost is balanced with the sureness with transfer of risk (Smith, 1995) page 44, cited in (Mosey, 2011). The single stage approach also excludes the contractor, its subcontractors and suppliers from everything pre construction phase, meaning that they cannot contribute towards ways of saving costs. Marlin s determination undergoes major development throughout the movie. But by the time Marlin wiggles his way out of a pelicans throat, it is clear that Marlin is determined to find his son at any cost. Nemo always displays quite a bit of determination although at first it is misconstrued as being headstrong or willful. Upon hearing the encouraging news of his father s search for him, he executes an especially daring feat with a sudden rejuvenated burst of determination. He displays even more determination to be reunited with his father by pulling of a clever act that lands him in the sewer and on his way to the ocean to find his father. Here Nemo showed another gritty trait known as resilience. The movie Of Mice and Men, directed by Gary Sinise in 1992, showed what life was like in rural America during the Great Depression. The movie also showed how people feel loneliness and alienated because they aren t accepted for their differences. Horton Foote, the screenwriter, did an exceptional job of writing a script that was very similar to the book. The movie didn t take anything away from John Steinbecks classic novel written fifty five years earlier. It will either hurt you or help you, depending on your research skills and time management skills. Research helps link one s ideas to true and tested studies that can help prove a stance on a particular subject matter. When one is able to provide information backed up by empirical studies, one s information can begin to flourish. For example, think about the various magazines that are sold nationwide. The National Enquirer is seen to be a false, untrue magazine that provides information about subject matters that are not even true. Even though, the National Enquirer is a great attention getter, there are surmountable people who know the stories printed inside are not believable. In regards to research, students should seek out reputable sources that can enhance their writing skills which in turn will help to write a better paper. Both were rewarded with overwhelmingly bad reviews and had a negative affect on his career. Some plans are relatively straightforward, and others are complex and can take months to finalize. Plans are a means to achieve the desired result. Once the result is identified, you work backward to determine what steps will be necessary to achieve the result or goal. This process also applies to disaster preparedness planning. To better understand what the goals or end results should be for an emergency operation plan (EOP), it is necessary to study and analyze post incident reports from recent events. There will always be lessons to learn from every incident regardless of size or complexity. The military recognized this fact and established a means of sharing post information incident with what has become to be known as an After Action Review (AAR). This review addresses what, why, and how events occurred. Originally, AARs were an informal debrief that compares the intended outcome versus the actual result of an event. The primary focus of the AAR is for the participants to examine their actions and learn from what went right and wrong during an event, which will facilitate to better decision making in future events. Since their inception, AARs have advanced and are found in formal and informal settings. Many post disasters documentation include some form of an AAR to document the lessons learned from the incident. From these lessons learned, planners should review previous disaster events, ... • 44. Describe How To Train Research Paper Most people never really think about it, but those in martial arts, police, military, fire/rescue or other high stress occupations may want to try to control the response that they experience due to the fact that some individuals will freeze when startled, surprised or under extreme stress. If you are able to control or affect a more desired reaction, then you will be able to respond to emergencies in a calmer manner. ***** How to Train An immediate response to a surprise attack is crucial defensive training in the disciplines of martial arts and police work. With proper training your body can be programed to react with the appropriate response. Martial arts practitioners are trained to quickly respond to specific attacking scenarios. Law enforcement (LEO) and military personnel learn to respond to attacks by drawing a weapon or searching for cover. These type of swift responses are only learned through constant and repetitive ... The noise level should be loud enough to provoke an adequate response. Your relaxed state will help to alleviate some of the surge of adrenaline in the beginning of your training and with consistent practice (once or twice a day) your body will actually use the startle response as a signal to relax. Even if you don t get to this point you can still condition yourself to cover, retreat or attack when startled instead of freezing. Choose one response, stick with it and practice it over and over. You can also get someone to help you by jumping out at you at unsuspected times (yes, kind of like Cato in the old Pink Panther movies). • 45. Itco321 Unit 1 Research Paper Unit 3 IP ITCO321 Anthony Thurman Stacks are containers of objects that are inserted and then removed according to Last In First Out (LIFO). This means that the last item inserted will be the first item removed. Inserting an item is referred to as Pushing, while removing an item is called Popping. A queue works a little different than a stack does, in that it follows First In First Out. So rather than having the last object removed first, the first object is removed first. Elements can be inserted at any time, but the only element that can be removed is the one that has been in the queue the longest. • 46. I Am Depressed And Hungry I am poor. I am depressed and hungry. I have nothing and own nothing. Survival is difficult. Every night, I sleep outside, in the boiling sun or in the freezing moonlight, on the hard ground. Whether it is hailing or raining, I sleep there with my mama and sister. But it never snows or rains here. We have no water. In the morning, I wake up early, hungry, bony, and weak. My mama can t afford breakfast like you can. Nothing lives here, so we are lucky if we find a few strands of grass. Today, my mama found a few bright red seeds. We tried to eat them, but we were too weak to crack them open. The sun had made them as hard as pebbles. We are still hungry. Mama and my sister, Heyla, made necklaces, pretending the seeds were beads. They really did look wonderful, but Mama knew we had to sell them. I walked with Heyla, barefoot, on the rock covered ground. It had cracks in it from all the heat and sunlight. Heyla and I panted to the village miles away, the stones and solid pieces of dirt sticking painfully into our feet. The kids in the village had food and shoes. They even had schools and homes. Ever since Papa died, the villagers kicked us out. • 47. Positive And Negative Effects Of Single Parent Families The number children being raised in single parent households is continuously growing. There are positive and negative effects for children that grow up in this type of a household. Children who only live with one parent tend to have better financial and educational advantages. Single parent homes can impact several aspects of a child s life. Children see their parentas being very independent, and often they learn to be independent too. The parent raising the childhas the biggest effecton the child. How the child is raised can affect many different outcomes of the child s life (Kunz, 2015, April 15). One big effect single parent households have is that one parent is absent. This can cause a child to perform poorly in school. Generally, single parent households are run by the mother and the father is absent. Often times when the parent is only receiving one income, they work more often. This can cause the child to receive less attention and have less help with their homework. The effect that the other parent, not living in the house, has on the child is huge. It is proven that children tend to do better in school and in life in general when both parents are involved in their life. Only having one income in the household makes it at risk for poverty. When children live in poverty it can have many emotional effects on them. Some children feel abandonment, loneliness, sadness, and troubles with socializing or connecting with others. Children also feel the emotions of low ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Readers can learn about round, square, triangular, rectangular, and star shaped objects all while being introduced to some Spanish words and Mexican locations. The book was okay, not bad but not amazing either. I can imagine that there are better books for children that can better showcase aspects of Mexican culture. At one point in the book, the zГіcalo is introduced, which is a plaza in Mexico City, Mexico. This was an interesting part, but the book does not explain what the zГіcalo is, I found this out through looking up the word. Based on the zГіcalo being in Mexico City, I assumed the entire ... Unlike other performances, Mr. Burns is not a simple narrative. Quite literally, it is a play within a play. The narrative lacks structure due to how it stands as a social commentary on the importance of entertainment to society. Mr. Burns began after what seems to be a traumatic event that has affected everyone s way of life. From what we see as our survivors huddled around a campfire in the woods. They recount a normalcy of how life used to be, an episode of The Simpsons. Throughout the recounts on what happened in the episode Cape Feare , the play introduces a new character which gives exposition to the current landscape of the United States. As the play continues into its second and third act, there is a large shift on the scenery, lighting, etc. as the cast begins to recreate the episode of The Simpsons which they discuss in the previous act. While it is easy to get lost on why everything is happening, why they are performing, it comes to the central conflict of reclaiming normalcy of the world which has past, an episode of television. As the performance goes on, the costume designrepresents where our characters are at in their timeline. While, in the first act, the characters are dressed in stereotypical post apocalyptic attire, it does vary in from what we are presented in the last two acts.
