Though South Asia has one of the largest cropland area as well as irrigated area, the region runs the risk of becoming food insecure because of its rapidly growing population. Information on the spatial distribution of agriculture and irrigation is crucial for policy making affecting sustainable agriculture and food security. Current low resolution crop extent datasets are inadequate in providing a complete and accurate picture of cropland. Detailed spatial distribution of croplands and agricultural water use at high spatial resolution are critical baseline data to understand crop and water dynamics, and to generate higher level products like crop type maps and biomass and yield assessments, which will aid decision making and planning for food security.

Lesotho is developing climate change scenarios to help plan for risks and vulnerabilities. A national team is using daily temperature and rainfall data from 1951-2100 from several global climate models to generate projections under two emission scenarios. Products developed so far include maps of historical climate averages and trends, as well as projected changes in averages for different time periods and climate extremes indices important to sectors like agriculture. Lesotho hopes these scenarios will help prepare for increased temperature, altered precipitation patterns, and more frequent extreme weather events under climate change. Developing the scenarios with local experts is building national capacity, though higher resolution data may better capture Lesotho's complex terrain.

State of the Map Asia (SotM-Asia) is the annual regional conference of OpenStreetMap (OSM) organized by OSM communities in Asia. First SotM-Asia was organized in Jakarta, Indonesia in 2015, and the second was organized in Manila, Philippines in 2016. This year’s conference, third in the series, was organized in Kathmandu, Nepal on September 23 – 24, 2017 at Park Village Resort, Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu, Nepal. We brought nearly 200 Open Mapping enthusiasts from Asia and beyond to this year’s SotM-Asia. The event provided an opportunity to share knowledge and experience among mappers; expand their network; and generate ideas to expand map coverage and effective use of OSM data in Asian continent. We chose ‘from creation to use of OSM data’ as the theme of this year’s conference, emphasizing on the effective use of OSM data. We also brought together a government panel from four different countries in this year’s SotM-Asia. Because of insufficient accessible arable land, intensive farming has been linked to excessive accumulation of phosphorous, heavy metals, and other soil contaminants, as well as to significant groundwater pollution with nitrate. Deterioration of soil water quality is especially worrying at the bioclimatic Mediterranean area, especially under the current context of climate change. Hence, it is necessary to develop a common body of knowledge, shared at the local and regional levels of the countries involved and affected, so as to allow an effective monitoring of cropping systems, fertilization and water demands, and impacts of climate change, with a focus on the sustainability and the protection of the physical environment. In this presentation, we describe AgriBigCAT, an online software platform that combines geophysical information from various diverse sources, together with big data analysis, in order to estimate the impact of the agricultural sector on the environment, considering land, water, biodiversity and natural areas requiring protection, such as forests and wetlands. Based on the P-Sphere project, this platform intends to promote more sustainable agriculture, by designing and developing an information and knowledge-based platform, using a big data approach for managing and analyzing a wide range of geospatial and mainstream information, which can be accessible by standard communication technologies such as the internet/web and mobile apps. this platform can also assist both the farmers' decision-taking processes and the administration planning and policy making, with the ultimate objective of meeting the challenge of increasing food production at a lower environmental impact.

- Rice exports from Myanmar have exceeded 2 million tons per year since 2019-2020, except for 2020-2021 during the peak of the pandemic. Exports through seaports now account for around 80% of total exports. - Domestic rice prices in Myanmar have closely tracked Thai export prices, suggesting strong linkages between domestic and international markets. - Simulations of a 10% decrease in rice productivity and a 0.4 million ton increase in exports in 2022-2023 resulted in a 33% increase in domestic prices, a 5% fall in production, and a 10% drop in consumption, with poor households suffering the largest declines in rice consumption of 12-13%.

A wound is a break in the integrity of the skin or tissues, which may be associated with disruption of the structure and function. Healing is the body’s response to injury in an attempt to restore normal structure and functions. Healing can occur in two ways: Regeneration and Repair There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. This document also describes the mechanism of wound healing. Factors that affect healing include infection, uncontrolled diabetes, poor nutrition, age, anemia, the presence of foreign bodies, etc. Complications of wound healing like infection, hyperpigmentation of scar, contractures, and keloid formation.
