And through your very own private-branded app store, you’ll achieve the highest levels of app adoption from your users, which ultimately secures the return in your investment of buying or building mobile apps.
- #6 What makes Apperian unique is the approach we take in securing and managing a mobile environment. We’re device management agnostic and work with all of the leading mobile devices. We don’t require a management profile on the device because we work at the app-level. Our dynamic security and usage policies can be enabled on any enterprise app with a single click. It doesn’t require the help of a developer or any technical understanding. Even non-IT people can administer Apperian’s platform. We manage the entire lifecycle of the mobile app to ensure the app goes from developer to a device in a systematic workflow which is auditable. This ensures best practices and corporate rules regarding mobile apps are followed. The Apperian platform is open through API’s which allows for integration with other IT systems Lastly, we focus heavily on ease of use for both the end user and administrators. - #8 Apperian’s lifecycle approach is unique in the industry to managing apps helps ensure that best practices to managing apps is followed consistently for every app deployed. An approval workflow can create an audit log to have accountability on the quality and policies applied to apps. Starting with on-boarding apps from many of the popular development tools available to developers. A simple interface lets users upload their apps and meta data directly into Apperian. These may be apps that are being tested or final production apps. An inspection report can be run on the apps which identifies any security or privacy concerns about the apps. The next step is to apply policies to the app. There are a couple dozen out-of-the box policies available such as usage tracking, app data wipe and app remote control. There are also premium security policies for data encryption and app-level VPN. Apps next need to be signed, particularly iOS apps which Apple requires. Our build-in signing capability can sign an app within minutes with the click of a button, which typically requires developers to do. The apps are posted to a custom-designed app store which is role-based meaning apps can be assigned to specific groups of users, say Sales so only sales reps would see the sales apps. Lastly, to close the loop, users can rate the apps and provide comments to the apps as well as a full set of reports and analytics providing insights into how users are using the apps.

This is our most popular way customers use Apperian. Companies like Toshiba benefit from having a single app store for any type of device be it corporate owned or BYOD.

In either case it can integrate with authentication providers allowing users to sign-on using Single Sign On with their corporate credentials. The platform is what drives the app lifecycle, manages app policies, provides the reports and inspects and signs the apps. This is all wrapped in a set of open APIs allowing integrations with other IT systems.
