1. Essays On The Catcher In The Rye
Crafting an essay on the theme of "Essays on The Catcher in the Rye" can be both challenging
and rewarding. On one hand, J.D. Salinger's iconic novel provides a rich tapestry of themes and
characters, offering ample material for analysis and interpretation. On the other hand, the sheer
popularity and critical attention the book has received over the years can make it difficult to
approach the subject with fresh insights.
One of the challenges lies in striking a balance between providing a comprehensive overview of
the novel's key elements and delving into nuanced analyses. The protagonist, Holden Caulfield,
presents a complex character study, and exploring his psyche requires a delicate touch. Unveiling
the layers of symbolism and metaphors embedded in the narrative demands a keen eye for detail
and an understanding of Salinger's writing style.
Moreover, navigating the existing body of literary criticism on The Catcher in the Rye poses
another hurdle. Ensuring that your essay contributes something new to the ongoing discourse is
essential. It requires thorough research to identify gaps in existing scholarship and a creative
approach to presenting your unique perspective.
The challenge is not just in summarizing the plot or regurgitating well-known interpretations but
in offering fresh insights that engage readers and provoke thoughtful reflection. This demands a
deep dive into the nuances of the characters, themes, and the socio-cultural context in which the
novel is set.
In conclusion, while writing an essay on "Essays on The Catcher in the Rye" might present
challenges, it also provides an opportunity for intellectual exploration and critical thinking. The
key is to approach the task with a discerning eye, a creative mind, and a commitment to adding
something meaningful to the existing body of literary analysis.

3. Gun Control And The Federal Government
For years gun control advocates pushed for a law passed by the federal
government. For years this has not worked as the government has not wanted to
touch the matter and have potential backlash. Although the federal government has
not done much and does not seem to be doing anything any time soon, the states
have huge potential to start the change. State governments can decide what laws
can be passed and how serious their guns laws will and should be. Since the rise of
mass shootings in schools and campus, states have been cracking down on guns and
making stricter gun laws. After the Sandy Hook mass shooting in Connecticut,
which left 20 children dead, the federal government failed to pass gun laws while
states took their own actions and pass various laws. States like New York and
Connecticut have been some of these states. There are already states that have passed
that background checks are mandatory on all guns or handguns, and some of these
states have made it mandatory for even unlicensed vendors and gun shows. This is a
huge step for America as more states band together to impose stricter laws on
firearms. In the past, states banding together to ban or legalize something has shown
to influence the federal government or other states that have yet to follow. This has
been proven with abortions and homosexual marriage and is now taking place with
gun control. Gun control supporters have realized this and have started targeting their
local governments to implement change

A new company will be forced to catch up with competitors and perhaps might win
over the current competitors. Another issue for Mohegan sun is, some competitors
might not need state license to operate within the same region. It will be difficult for
a new entrant to gain a large market share and become a major player in such short
time as a result of the barriers mentioned above. But Gambler might be looking
forward to having closer options than Connecticut. According to the province journal,
In December 2014, the Mohegan Sun casino posted its best consistent monthly slots
performance in three years. A rare positive note for Connecticut s tribal casinos
since the recession. Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Resort Casino both have
repeatedly laid off workers as business declined. New entrants such as MGM and
Wynn are new rivals of Mohegan sun. Wynn might open a $1.7 billion casino
location across the river from Boston. MGM is also planning for a casino location
at Springfield. This can affect the market share of Mohegan sun because of the new
entrants locations. With that being said, it is too soon to determine the outcome of
the casino landscape. There is a probability that casinos in the New England region
will struggle for smaller shares of regional economic share as new facilities come
online. The goal of companies within the casino industry, in this case Mohegan

Change in the warehouse structure
Change in the existing policies or implementation of new ones
Warehouse Structure
In order to change the warehouse structure the options of centralization, outsourcing
were considered as opposed to the existing structure of decentralization.
Decentralized Structure with 8 warehouses: No changes would be required and the
regional warehouses would supply their respective territories except in case of stock
outs.
Centralization with one warehouse: Centralize the North American warehousing with
one warehouse in Waltham by closing down the regional warehouses. In this way, the
inventory requirements could be pooled to meet the demand.
Centralization with two warehouses: The demands of the West and the East could be
pooled respectively and supplied from warehouses in each of these regions.
Outsourcing: Outsourcing the inventory function to Global Logistics who would be
responsible for warehousing, inventory management, and order fulfilment (including
picking, packing and shipping). This would enable the company employees to focus
more on sales and expansion of the company while ensuring that the inventory
management is in able hands.
Policy Changes
Some policy changes were proposed as an outcome of the brainstorming session:
Sufficient inventories only to meet customer fill rate of 99% and avoid surplus
inventory
Discontinuation of trunk stock maintenance by sales executives

6. Yeats on Change and Stability, and How They...
The world is a place that is ever changing, yet somehow it always stays the same.
There is a saying, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Another
goes like this: history has a way of repeating itself. So does that mean that people
can t learn from the mistakes of the past? Certainly not. There are brilliant minds in
this world that can visualize in what ways events have gone wrong in history. They
are able to learn the faults and strengths of other, older civilizations, and build on
those. Unfortunately, these minds are few and far between, and the rest of us are
left to fend for ourselves. There comes a time in every country/civilization s
existence that a bad leader takes the reins and things go south in a hurry. This is
when declension of state is put into effect, as Plato would have it. This rise and fall
of civilization is something William Butler Yeats
was very familiar with. His love of
history and the sciences were combined with a philosophy all his own. His
philosophy was that in all of the fields of history, art, personality, and society, there
are conflicting forces at work: change and stability. In each society, these two
forces are at work, and that can sometimes make things chaotic in the lives of the
people in the society. These forces don t even have to be a part of society; stability
and change can be a part of everyday life. Five poems of Yeats that portray the
change in the world, and the stability too, are When You Are Old, The Lake Isle
7. How Classroom Environment Can Be Very Powerful, (
Keffer,...
Environment can be very powerful, (Keffer, 2015). I have always been curious to find
out how changing a student s learning environment helps them with their ability to
learn. In this particular case I was interested to see how changing a child s regular
classroom environment to one that engages in an outdoor classroom environment
affects the student. Throughout this paper I will use a wide range of key points to
address this specific research question: What benefits can students gain by engaging
in an outdoor classroom environment? I will discuss the effects on students while
exploring nature, engaging in outdoor classroom environments, types of curriculum in
outdoor classrooms and what it looks like, student outcomes from outdoor classrooms
(such as attitudes, assessments, engagement in school), and a few more key ideas
that support this question.
Rationale
My sophomore year of college I got a job working as a teacher s assistant in an early
care and childhood center. One of the main parts of this center s curriculum focused
on nature play and exploration. From the first day I began working there to three
and a half years later on the last day, this topic was always extremely intriguing to
me. It fascinated me to watch these young children engage in nature exploration and
learn so much from it. I chose to research this topic in order to learn more about the
relationship with students and outdoor classrooms in an elementary public school
setting. I wanted to see how it
8. Exploring How Undergraduate Physiotherapy Students...
Methodology
This section identifies and justifies the methods that were used to explore how
undergraduate physiotherapy students perceive the CE as a role model. The selection
process, data collection, actions taken to avoid bias and ethical considerations will be
explained and consequently increasing the transferability and dependability of the
study (Cho and Trent, 2014).
Research Design
The exploratory nature of the research question requires a phenomenological
qualitative approach for data collection and analysis to acquire a rich understanding
of the participant s experiences whilst ensuring a strong focus is made towards the
research question. Phenomenology is the study of subjective experiences, in which
the experience is made sense of and knowledge is gained about a person s views
instead of trying to explain them making sense of the experience (Smith, 2004).
A focus group or interviews could have been used to approach the research question,
both endeavouring to understand themes of the participant s perspectives of the CE
and interpreting the meaning of the phenomena (Brinkmann and Kvale, 2015). To
reach data saturation of the study six or more interviews would be needed. To
triangulate the data both interviews and focus groups would be used, however the
time restraints of the study do not allow this. Participants can find it intimidating to
be interviewed one on one, affecting their responses and therefore the validity and
reliability of the study (Golafshani,
9. Charcot Marie Tooth Disease Research Paper
Orphan diseases are rare diseases that affect less than 200,00 people nationwide. Due
to the fact that they are not commonly found, they are are often overshadowed by
more prevalent diseases, such as malaria or hepatitis. Therefore, this is often not
enough government funding needed to research these diseases. Charcot Marie Tooth
Disease(CMT) is one of the most common, yet unknown, rare neurological
disorders. This disease mainly affects the nervous systems, often impairing motor
skills and causing the decaying of muscles in the arms and legs. Charcot Marie
Tooth Disease was first discovered in the early 1900s by Professor Jean Martin

A diagnosis usually begins with a physical examination, where the doctor might ask
the patient to perform various tasks, such as walking on their heels or testing their
knee jerk reflexes (Muscular Dystrophy Association). Furthermore, family history
of the disease is considered, and often times a genetic test is performed, which is
done by drawing blood and looking for any genetic defects related to CMT. Finally,
a nerve conduction test may be done, to test how quickly the patient s nerves detect
electrical signals (Muscular Dystrophy Association). However, diagnosis can often be
difficult given that many doctors are not familiar with CMT, and the symptoms are
very similar to those of other neurological diseases (Hereditary Neuropathy

Acute viral hepatitis is the most common form of infectious hepatitis. There are five
distinct viruses types A, B, C, D, and E. Diagnostic markers of viral hepatitis include

transferase, white blood cell count, and prothrombin time.
Hepatitis C is an infectious disease that primarily affects the liver, caused by the
Hepatitis C virus (HCV).
The cause of HCV, is a spherical, enveloped, single stranded RNA virus belonging
to the Flaviviridae family and Flavivirus genus. The natural targets of HCV are
hepatocytes and, possibly, B lymphocytes. Lauer and Walker reported that HCV is
closely related to hepatitis G. HCV can produce at least 10 trillion new viral particles

Lichen Planus
Lichen Planus (LP) is a chronic inflammatory cutaneous disease that frequently
involves oral mucosa. Common symptoms are oral pain or a burning sensation,
especially with acidic or spicy foods. Symptoms are often irrespective of the clinical
presentation. There is evidence of an association between HCV and Oral Lichen
Planus (OLP); however, this varies by region and further studies are needed to fully
confirm the relationship.
Diagnosis of OLP should involve a referral to a trained clinician in oral medicine or
maxillofacial surgery. The principles behind treatment of OLP are symptom
management, immune modulation, monitoring and education. Treatment of OLP is
usually reserved for disease that is symptomatic. Topical corticosteroids are normally
the main choice of treatment for OLP.

11. My New Perception Of The World And Gender Studies
Class Essay
The first time that I ever took a woman s and gender studies class was this
semester, and before taking the course all information regarding gender, class, sex,
language, identity, exile, agency, power, and race was based on personal
experience. I have never formally learned about the proper terminologies that define
the systems of oppression that I experienced in my everyday life. I feel that this
information was vital to me because now that I can properly identify these problems
I have the tools necessary to fix them. I also learned that may of those themes are
universal and the way that women in particular suffer is the same across various
cultures. Considering the theories, novels lectures, class discussions, and
presentations I can say that I am walking away from this class with an ample amount
of critical information. Most importantly are the themes that contributed to my new
perception of the world and the role that I play in it. I have learned that genderand
sex, contrary to popular belief, are not synonymous terms. This is important because
society has a set of sex and gender roles that society says people are supposed to
follow. While one is not given the opportunity to choose their sex, they are given the
opportunity to choose what gender and behavioral expectations they uphold. This in
turn means that gender is not assigned at birth; it is culturally mandated and therefore
allows for change. Additionally, one of the most important terms that I learned in this

the x ray is terminated. According to Mahadevappa, Last image hold is a dose saving
feature, since it allows physicians to contemplate the last image and plan the next
move without additional radiation exposure in an interventional procedure. Pulsed
fluoroscopy is when the fluoroscopy machine can emit x rays in short pulses rather

Eric Patrick Clapton was an English musician, singer songwriter, and guitarist of the
1960 s, who was influenced by the legendary blues guitarist, Robert Johnson. Robert
Johnson had a brief career, but inspired many rock n roll musicians, such as Clapton.
When reviewing Clapton s songs, there are many musical attributes that come from
Johnson. In fact, Clapton made an album called Me and Mr. Johnson as tribute to
Johnson, because of the impact he had on Clapton s musical career. Clapton has
been through many bands, but he always ended up leaving them because their style
was not similar to his own. His musical style was rock n roll, but the bluesand

14. The Story Of The Gadarene Demoniacs
Introduction
The story of the Gadarene demoniacs in Matthew 8:28 9:1 begins with the
conclusion of another miracle. After calming a storm out at sea, Jesus disembarks in
Gadara. He encounters two possessed men living in the tombs who are making it
difficult for people to pass by. The men recognize Jesusas the Son of God and call
out to him defensively. Before Jesus even acknowledges them, the demons ask to
be sent to a heard of swine, if they are to be cast out. Jesus simply says Go! and the
demons go into the pigs, which immediately rush down a bank into the sea and
drown. The pig herders tell the town what they saw and the townspeople beg Jesus to
leave.

This passage is the fifth in a set of six miracle pericopes. Starting at the beginning
of chapter eight, Jesus heals a leper, heals a dying servant, heals Peter s mother in
law and many others, calms a storm, casts out the demons from the Gadarenes, and
heals a paralytic. The stories are divided in two sets of three, separated by a strange
interlude about the followers of Jesus. The second set of miracles emphasizes
strongly the response to Jesus work in each pericope. The calming of the storm
prompted astonishment and confusion. The casting out of the demons provoked
rejection by the townspeople. Finally, the healing of the paralytic inspired awe and
worship in crowds that observed the miracle. He seems to be traveling alone to
Gadara, in contrast to travelling with crowds in the surrounding pericopes.
In the context of the wider Gospel of Matthew, the story of the Gadarene demoniacs

For years, engineers have been vastly improving the lives of people around the
world. With that being said, there is so much ground to cover and able bodied
people often have priority over people with disabilities because they are the main
consumer. However, this project will take that into consideration and the main
focus will be flipped upside down to benefit people with disabilities. Specifically,
people in wheelchairs are often hindered with the inconvenience of not being able to

their own vehicle with the wheelchair being fully integrated into the interior design of
the car while maintaining the overall functionality of the vehicle. This follows in line
with the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act which
aims to identify, remove and prevent barriers for people with disabilities in that with
this vehicle the barrier of being restricted to aided transportation will be removed
and replaced with a viable alternative for the wheelchair bound. With this project, we

17. Impose An Income Tax On Americans Occurred During The
War...
The first proposal to impose an income tax on Americans occurred during the War
of 1812. After two years of war, the federal government had accumulated a
whopping $100 million of debt. To fund the war against Britain, the government
doubled the rates of its major source of revenue, customs duties on imports, which
obstructed trade and ended up yielding less revenue than the previous lower rates. At
the height of the war, excise taxes were imposed on goods and commodities,
housing, slaves and land were taxed. Finally when the war ended in 1816, these taxes
were abolished. A high tariff was then passed to retire the accumulated war debt.
Thankfully, the notion of an incometaxwas conquered (Young, 2004). However, the
thought of the income taxreappeared as an idea to fund the Union armies in the war
to prevent the secession of the Confederacy. The war was expensive, costing on
average $1,750,000 a day. Struggling to meet these expenses, the Republican
Congress borrowed heavily, doubled tariff rates, sold off public lands, imposed a
maze of licensing fees, increased old excise tax rates and created new excise taxes.
But none of this was enough to fund the debt (Young, 2004)..
In July 1861, the Congress passed a 3% tax on all personal net income above $600 a
year that is equitant to about $10,000 today. However, no revenue was ever raised
because a second tax passed before the first was due on June 30, 1862. The war s
demand on resources made the earlier tax ineffective, and

19. Example Of Superstition
TEXT OF SUPERSTITION
The superstition that I am going to tell you is a really common Malay s
superstition that has been passed down to me since I was a kid. I think you are
already familiar with it because I always said this to you when you were a kid, to
make sure you returned home before sunset after spending hours playing with your
friends. During Maghrib (after sunset), Muslim kids are not allowed to play outside
their house, or a scary ghost will kidnap them . Your grandparents introduced this to
me when I was about 6 years old. They told this superstition to me every time
before I went out and play with my friends. People who live in villages are great
believers in ghost and spirits. I was raised in a village setting, so I grew up hearing
a lot of stories about ghosts, spirits and black magic. This superstition is related to
ghosts, so it makes me scared, as I believe that there were really a ghost that trying
to kidnap me if I return home after sunset. Malays also believe that there are lots of
spirits, Satan and ghosts wandering around after sunset. That is why many elders,
including your grandparents, tell this superstition to make sure their kids return
home early. They scared the ghosts will possess their kids. But when I grew up, I do
not believe in those supernatural things anymore. I used and told you this superstition
just to make sure you returned home early and performed your prayer on time. I do
not think that many people believe in this superstition
20. Correlation Between Consumption Of Cigarettes And Price
Interpretation of the Findings This study s framework was of a statistical nature.
The researchers took statistical data from two different years and compared them
against each other, with the only changing variable between the years was an
increase in sales tax on tobacco products. The data that was collected indicated that
there was a decrease in tobaccosales compared to the year before. Thus, validating
the null hypothesis by showing a direct relationship between consumption of
cigarettes and price. By looking at the observed ration of reduced consumption to
increased price ( 12.1%: 30.2% = 0.40) we can estimate the price elasticity. This
elasticity shows the responsiveness of the demand of the product versus its change
in price. This ratio was an expected value and shows direct correlation to
consumption of tobacco products and there price and is consistent with similar
studies done on tax increases on tobacco (Amato, et al., (2015).

I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein s brain
than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived, and died in cotton
fields and sweatshops. Stephen Jay Gould. Sweatshops exploit people, and children.
They take advantage of their poverty, and there need for a better life. Sweatshops are
one of the worst things that ever happened to the business world, and poor people
around the world. Sweatshops should be stopped, and ended.
Sweatshop is a common term used to refer to factories that typically produce apparel;
that have very low wages by modern U.S. standards, long working hours, and unsafe
or unhealthy working conditions; that often don t obey labor laws; and that would
generally be considered unpleasant places to work by most citizens in wealthy
countries. Sweatshops first appeared in Great Britain in the late eighteenth century
and persisted there until the early twentieth century. In the United States, the first
textile sweatshops appeared in the early nineteenth century in Rhode Island and
Massachusetts. Virtually every wealthy country in the world had sweatshops at one
point in their past. Sweatshops are an important stage in the process of economic
development.

22. Stereotypes In Chronicle Of A Death Foretold
The emotional, sexual, and psychological stereotyping of females begins when the
doctor says, It s a girl. ~Shirley Chisholm. Gender stereotypes begin the second a
baby s gender is found. As soon as we find out it s a girl, we immediately begin
decorating a pink nursery with butterflies and flowers. We assume that our daughter
will be very girly and have a toy box with tea sets and dolls. What this is essentially
doing, is setting the child up to be the perfect lady, and teaching the child how to be
the stereotypical woman. The girl is taught that girls are supposed to wear dresses,
serve food, take care of babies, and stay at home while men go to work. In the novel,

24. Analyze a Sociological Issue
Analyze a Sociological Issue Social Inequality and Minorities in the United States
10/24/2010 In this course I have learned about different social problems in
societies worldwide. Some of these include poverty, social inequality,
discrimination of race and culture, urbanization, and more. After learning all these
subjects and more, I have decided to do my final on social inequality and
minorities in the United States. I chose this particular topic because I have seen
this in almost every place have lived. I find it appalling that minorities are still not
treated 100% equal. We as Americans know what inequality is and know how it is
used in our everyday society. I want to explore this topic and show how real and big

They have had to deal with numerous inequalities throughout time. After slavery
they were not given equal rights. There were many rights rallies and according to
the statistics, they are still not receiving equal pay. There used to be restaurants
that would not serve a person of color and they were even told they could only sit
in the back of buses. Though we have overcome most of this we have not overcome
hate crimes. Every group has encountered unequal or cruel treatment based on
nothing more than a characteristic about them. Though the hate crime rate had
dropped in 2007 there was a rise of anti gay crime. Now with the new election the
hate crime rate has risen again. This shows the problem is not diminishing and that
we need to find a way to get this under control. Criminal justice is another area of
social inequality for minorities in the U.S. Getting a fair trial is difficult is one is
accused of a crime that is a stereotype. If a minority is accused of rape, murder,
theft, assault, or many other crimes, it may be hard to get a fair trial if the jury
basis the evidence against stereotypes. Another aspect to this is that minorities are
not given as many options as others. If they are in lower income areas, have less
education or just less options general their chances of living a life of crime is high.

I am going to say this article is a quantitative research study, because based on the
definition by the textbook quantitative research uses measurement and the review
of collected data (Fain, 2017). This research article was a study that is based on
the study of a specific number of people and has reviewed the outcomes of those
patients and the information collected from those patients to form the data they are
reporting in the article. The design of this study I would say is observational as the
research was gathered after studying the patients in the hospital setting, even though
no on site studying was completed. After reading the article data was collected from
the participants of the study such as risk for cardiac arrest, cardiac rhythm that lead
to the arrest and vitals (Dankiewicz, Schmidbauer, Nielsen 2014) . . After reading
the chapter on data collection methods it seems to me that this study used
biophysical measures in an after the fact method, because patient vital sign and other
physiological data was collected from patient charts and EMS records (Fain, 2017).
The sample size for this study was 663 patients from 46 different critical units from
Europe and United States (Dankiewicz,Schmidbauer, Nielsen 2014)

This essay will be arguing that colleges and universities should promote more efforts
to diversify and create equal representation of all students. Attending higher education
institution for minorities has been an uneasy struggle and one that few minorities
accomplish. The dilemma of African American enrollment for example, in a college
lecture hall at Texas A M containing 250 seats, only a maximum 4 out of 250 seats
will contain African American students. Unfortunately, many institutions are similar
to Texas A M University, they have an underrepresentation of minorities their on

When African American Students are not admitted into the organizations segregation
is a factor because students have a right to choose who they would like to admit into
the organizations without justification. When student cannot find similarities with
other students at large institutions they experience isolation, fear, and feel
disconnected. This results in an unequal representation of minorities because many
students to discontinue attendance when they are forced to attempt to assimilate to
an opposing society. Assimilation would require students to begin to use the customs
of the majority society and results in losing their individual identity. Integration
however, proposes that students began to diversify and learn about other cultures.
Diversity should be of a priority in higher institutions because multicultural
environments will be conducive to all students. The lack of diversity within higher
education causes many minorities to assimilate to the major culture and lose the
individual identities. Oppose to assimilating to the majority culture there are several
benefits from diversity students maintain their individuality and accept new cultures
in demographically challenged institutions. Emilia Plonska scholarly essay The

27. Sugar Wars Research Papers
Sugar Wars Today, despite technological and scientific discoveries of the past century,
we live in a country filled with mysterious sicknesses. While America continues to
prosper in other ways, our health continues to decline. What has helped to cause this
terrible battle? Sugar. Even though it may pack a great taste, sugarhas captured and
addicted us to it. Our addiction to sugar has negative consequences such as severe
chronic disease and obesity. Americans need to reduce sugar consumption to
prevent, cure, or limit problems of chronic disease, addiction, and obesity. One of
the first discussions about sugar similar to ours today occurred in the 1670s.
Thomas Willis, the medical advisor to the duke of York and King Charles noticed
an increase in diabetes at a time when drinking sugared tea was newly common. In
those days, people believed sugar good for you and fine to give babies. Today, this
seems obviously wrong. People used sugar as a medicine in the past, but as its
price dropped its use shifted to an additive for food as a sweetener. With the
industrial revolution, sugar production improved and sugar as a result cheapened.
For a poor person, sugar provides a cheap luxury. During the Great Depression, the
annual per capita sugar consumption was 16 pounds higher than in 1920. Come
World War II, the government stated that you do not need sugar in a healthy diet to
take the sting away from the rationing of it. After that, sugar s popularity soared,
although many think differently about sugar today. Sugar consumption really took
off in the twentieth century. Ice cream consumption doubled between 1940 and
1956 with the advent and popularization of the refrigerator. Refrigerators allow
people to stay in the homes and have ice cream and sugary drinks like never before
because refrigerators are cheap enough to buy for regular consumers. One and a
half million sold in 1935 alone. (By) 1997 saw Americans drinking an average of 54
gallons of soda a year. Eighty percent of the world s soda was consumed by 20
percent of the people. Breakfast was transformed into a sugar fest (sugary feast) in

a lesson to remember from repeating same mistake again. Only a handful of slaves

No society has ever survived without some system of education. Education is,
perhaps, the most important of all social systems because it enables all the others
by training individuals for their social roles. Still, it is a system which is far too
complicated to perfect or even define. What is the best way to teach? What
knowledge is it necessary for an educated person to attain? Should an education for
one be the same as for another? In such an individual centered field, the answers to
these questions are as varied as the individual teachers, students, and others

The canons of literature, the principles of science, the exploration of history, and
many more all build a foundation of what it is to be human and part of a human
society. Lacking such an essential base, more liberal philosophies collapse.
These essentials, however, do not complete the picture. Knowledge and education
cannot exist in a vacuum; just because a certain volume of human knowledge does
exist does not necessarily mean it will be acquired or even prove useful without the
right conditions. When teaching people, one cannot neglect the role of the individual
in his or her own education. Students must want to learn, they must be motivated to
acquire knowledge, and they must be inspired to hold and apply it beyond a chapter
test or school year. By giving individual credence, validity, and applicability to the
material we teach, we grant the student the opportunity to intrinsically pursue
knowledge and to apply the facts of the world to new situations, question, not just
accept, and shape their own informed opinions. If the essentials are the roots of
education, individual motivation is its branches, and the fruit it supports are the
educated people such a system eventually bares.
Perhaps the goal of schooling is not necessarily to learn, but rather to learn how to
learn. To suggest education can occur in a set amount of time or that educated is a
binary state is to neglect the influence of the individual on the process. To merely

When pulling the cord, it is good to provide a strong full stroke in order to have to
best chance of the mower starting. What pulling the cord does is it starts the
crankshaft of the motor into motion and from there the normal cycles of the engine
take over to keep the mower running. Most mowers are equip with a drive system
that reduces the effort required to maneuver the mower around the yard. This will
come in either an always on form, meaning if the mower is running the wheels are
spinning, otherwise, it will require you to also hold some kind of switch or pull bar
to activate the drive system.
Now it s time to get down to business. When mowing the lawn, it is good to have
some kind of pre thought out pattern in order to avoid running over the same areas
twice. This pattern may be either diagonally across the yard, horizontally,
vertically, or even is a spiral toward the center. A custom pattern may be necessary
depending on the size or unique shape of your lawn. No matter what you pattern of
choice, it is good to alternate the pattern you use every month or so. This will
avoid marks to your yard caused by the mower running over the exact same areas
every time you mow. Using a pattern that utilizes many straight aways and few turns
will make you your mowing more efficient by conserving time and gas. If your

Don Giovanni is an opera performed by Mozart where the main character Don
Giovanni murders a man, seduces women, and in the end receives his awaiting
fate. The sextet, which is when the remaining of the characters sing, takes place at
the finale of the opera. Everybody else runs onstage...and there is a quick lively
finale, where each character announces what he or she will do next find a new
master, join a convent, get married. That, they sing, is the end for those who do evil.
(Pg. 199). This finale was a major part of the Don Giovanniplay before directors
during the nineteenth century began to cut that performance out. The sextet served

With this finale the audience does not leave the play feeling completely dismal as a
result of Don Giovanni s punishment. In addition, the message behind the opera is
still clear as it would have been without the sextet. But the seriousness of the
message is not conveyed as well at could be. The opera is supposed to have moments
of comedy and moments of seriousness, especially regarding the anticipated fate of
Don Giovanni. However, because of the sextet the significance of the intended
message could lose its meaning.
Since the nineteenth century decided to remove the sextet the finale of the opera
becomes more dramatic. The opera ends on the scene of Don Giovanni being
engulfed by the flames of hell without the sextet. The meaning, sinners are going to
be punished, is clear to the audience and is not taken lightly. The audience will most
likely remember the finale of the play more than anything else. Allowing the opera to

Trojan horse battle strategy causing the fall of Troy. Evidence of this battle comes
throughout Homers works of Greek literature lliad and odyssey . But were
Homers stories the actual reason of one of history s most talked about wars? Was
his story s a recount of a different battle? Was a woman really the reason to start a
war over? Did Troy actually exist? Was there more too it, did geographical Location
and trade a major issue? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My hypothesis is that the Trojan Wardidn t actually happen because of Helen being
abducted from Sparta, I think that there s more the issue, perhaps a major wealth
issue from a neighbouring society. Archaeologist Like Heinrich Schlieman,
Wilhelm Dörpfeld, Carl Blegen and Manfred Korfmann, have all looked into the site
of where Troy was believed to be and have all found some sort of evidence as so why,
the battle of Troy could not have started all because Helen was
42. The Perception Of The Human Sciences
Each of us are different in many ways and that fact cannot possible be disputed by
anyone who has any back ground in the human sciences, as it has been
scientifically proven that we all have unique finger prints, DNA, hair, looks,
behavior and facial expressions and the combination of these things make us
unique personality types so to speak. We also function from two different
perspectives and we need to understand how each one of us functions. We each like
to think that we are special (which we are) and in that portrayal system, we mostly
portray what we perceive we want people to think about us. On the other side of
the coin we have a reality in what we truly believe about ourselves and the way we
feel inwardly. Many of us become disillusioned with our true inner picture, simple
because of a misunderstanding of our personal purpose in life. The fact that we
allow this dissatisfaction to creep into our lives, we create an inner insecurity within
ourselves and we then start looking at others or alternatively we start behaving like
others, which is completely outside our true personality, thereby attempting to look
different, behave different, think different, dress different and when looking at our
big picture, become dissatisfied with our true personality, allowing society to name
us as a personality type which is definitely going to influence our level to be
successful in life. Society has made us believe that we need to conform to a standard
of behavior, which then

Odyssey Essay
In Homer s epic, The Odyssey, Odysseus is the epic hero. Many different traits are
possessed by a stereotypical hero including that he travels on a great journey, he
possesses great intelligence and cleverness, and he faces supernatural foes on his
journey. The first trait that is possessed by a stereotypical hero is that they possess
great intelligence and cleverness. This is demonstrated by Odysseus from The
Odyssey when he and his crew mates were trapped in the cave with the giant, blind
cyclops. The cyclops had trapped them in his cave along with his sheep flock.
Possessing cleverness, Odysseus made a plan to ride under the bellies of the cyclops
sheep to escape from the cave. This was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another example of this witty trait was when Odysseus and his men were sailing
past the sirens who lived in the sea. Odysseus put wax in his men s ears so that the
sirens would not be able to lure them into crashing their boat and jumping in the
water. An oracle told Odysseus that he needed to listen to the sirens, so he had his
men tie him to the mast so tight, that he could not untie himself, and that no matter
how much he whined and moaned, his men were to leave him tied up.

Another trait of stereotypical heroes is that they face supernatural foes.
Odysseus and his men were facing a supernatural, and enormous, cyclops. They
escaped and plunged a spear into his eye, successfully defeating him. Odysseus also
had to face Scylla and Charybdis, which can eat six men at once, and can suck down
their ship with a whirlpool. Odysseus men had to face Zeus wrath because they
promised that they would not slaughter the cattle for food, and they did, despite
Odysseus and Zeus telling them not to. Their ship was struck with lightning, and
Odysseus was the only survivor because he crafted a raft. Another supernatural
44. The Myth Of Prometheus And The Garden Of Eden
How can there be similar themes in different books? Themes can be found in every
story. If one says ignorance is bliss, or spirituality vs. science, these are all themes.
Correspondingly, acceptance is a theme that has always been used. However, this
word has not only been used for texts it has been used everywhere, from books to
relations to even movies. To put it differently, ambition is getting what you want, this
is seen often in stories. This word makes people think what their needs are and what
their wants are. Furthermore, themes are generally made when you feel like you have
seen the movie or read that book, however you have just watched the movie which
has similar themes in it. There are many themes in one story. The themes of

She opened the lid a very little, just to peep in side. All at once there was a
whirring, rustling sound, and before she could shut it down. (Baldwin 4) This
quotation shows that Gaea had experienced a lot just from opening one box up. In
Scarlet Ibis, the author shows the theme of Ignorance is less when Doodle learned to
walk and be normal, the presented to death this shows characters actions. The
knowledge that doodle and my plans had come to naught was bitter, and that streak
of cruelty within me awakened. (Hurst 6) This quotation shows that Doodle had died
due to his brother and how he learned something new just because of his disability. In
The garden of Eden, the author shows the theme of ignorance is bliss when Adam
convinced eve to eat the apple which led them to sin and their knowledge betrayed
them this shows character s actions. The serpent, however, convinces Eve that they
will not die, but simply become as gods. (1) This quotation shows that Adam and Eve
had changed a lot by just getting convinced to eat one
45. What Is The Theme Of The Eve Of St Keats
In The Eve of St. Agnes, Keats finds out a happy alternative of Isabella, Lamia, and
the other darker odes linking with death or failure. The major theme of this poem is
the celebration of human love and as the representative of critics it is an imaginative
projection of young love (Stillinger, 1999, p. 38). There is no other way of reading
the poem than of an intense, happy, achieved lovethat makes it the contrast of
Isabella. It is a romantic love which has the heavenly experience and through Keats
magic Madeline and Porphyro fell they are in heaven. The poem tells the story of
Madeline and her lover Porphyro who are deeply in love but their families are against
of it. Madeline is practicing a St. Agnes Eve ritual to fulfill her dream... Show more

Agnes is one of Keats s best loved works or it is a celebration of romantic love.
Here Keats represents himself somewhere in the form of the narrator and
somewhere in the character of Porphyro. The main characters Madeline and
Porphyro who achieve their secret love and boldly escape from the decaying castle
are associated with Keats and Fanny Brawne. Keats shows the superstition
connection with St. Agnes Eve invites the emotional warmth of his happy lover
Fanny Brawne. The character of Porphyro is compared with Keats feelings and
also his expression of ambivalence toward women. No other poet of the Romantic
period seems to have been influenced so deeply by a woman than Keats. It is his
love for Fanny Brawne that inspires him to write much of his poetry after December
of 1818. John Middleton Murry writes in the same year, If the crude equation be
taken with enough imaginative margins, we may say that Madeline is Fanny and
Keats Porphyro and The Eve of St. Agnes was the first poem in which Keats was
inspired by his love for Fanny Brawne . Similarly, Murry also says that not only in
The Eve of St. Agnes but also in Lamia Keats is Lycius, Fanny Brawne is the Lamia,
and Apollonius is Charles Brown the realist, trying to break Fanny s spell over Keats
by insisting upon her as the female animal. The identification seems transparent

46. How Did The Environment Affect The Shang Civilization
The Shang Dynasty, was where they were in the world, partly because of the
geography there. The land there had two major rivers, the Yellow or Huang River,
and the Chang River. These two rivers made the land around them very fertile for
farming, and since most of the first settlers of the Shang were nomads, or farmers,
they decided to stay in this fertile land. Also it became a larger civilizationbecause the
Chinese believed that it was the center of the earth and the sole source of
civilization. The environment of the civilization affected the people because they
relied heavily on it for farming. The crops that were produced were one of their main
sources of food. They still hunted, but crops that farmers produced were still there

Some of the gods that they believed in were sun, moon, water, wind, dragon, and
Phoenix gods. They also believed that all of these gods had to have a ruler, so they
also believed in a supreme God called Shang Di. This God was the controller of the
civilization, and controlled all of the other gods. Because they had more than one
God, they were polytheistic. Also the religion of believing in gods of nature is
called animism. Another thing that the Shang people believed in was that there
was an afterlife. For this reason, they put servants and emperors in tombs, so that
the servants could still serve in the afterlife, and the emperors could still rule. The
Shang people made sacrifices to the gods so that the gods would treat them with
good things, such as a good season with an even amount of sun and rain, and so
that the water God will prevent floods. In the Shang civilization, the religious
leaders played a key role in their religion. The religious leaders were the kings and
nobles. Only these people were allowed to speak to the supreme God Shang Di.
These leaders were important because they were the only people in the civilization
that could talk to Shang Di, which meant that they were the only people that could
tell the people of the civilization what Shang Di said to them. For this reason these
leaders were highly recognized and
47. Osteopathic Analysis
Osteopathic medicine prides itself on being able to recognize the body s ability to
regulate itself and mount its own defences against most pathologic conditions
(DiGiovanna, Schiowitz, Dowling, 2005) Homeostasis can be referred to as the
maintenance of static or constant conditions in the internal environment. (Guyton
Hall, 2000) In conjunction with the Osteopathic principles, the osteopathic profession
aims to regulate the bodies natural function including the use of osteopathic
techniques to maintain the health and homeostasis of patients. This dynamic state of
equilibrium (Marieb, 2015) has narrow limits of which the internal and external
cellular fluids may fluctuate with the aim of maintaining an unchanged state.

This regulation is achieved via the stimulus (for example a reduced body
temperature) signalling a receptor cell of the body, which signals the control centre
hypothalamus; which determines the set point of the body temperature variable and
can determine an adequate response. An increased production of heat, would respond
to this output via increasing the rate of which some of the bodies energy supplies;
ATP and glucose are metabolised to generate body heat and maintain homeostasis
within the body via shivering and other mechanisms to generate heat and bring the
body back to its ideal
