Others don’t. • Some courses require minimum test scores to take for dual credit • College grade must follow college grade scale, not MHS AP Dual Enrollment

Pre-requisites- Regardless ofyour credit choice, we need to make sure you are in the right class! • Courses will be rigorous and taught at college level. • Check pre-requisite courses in registration newspaper. • Math and some English classes require a score from either ACT, SAT, or COMPASS • If you don’t have the score now, sign up • ACT - Deadline May 9th, cost $36.50 if ACT no writing, $52.50 with writing Test June 14, 2014 8 -12 am • COMPASS- sign up with Mrs. Thompson in library– if taking ISU courses, no cost. If taking CSI or NIC courses, $5 fee. 7:30-8:30 am , May 12-16, May 19-22, 2014

- 15. Scores Required forHistory/Gov’t • AP US History, AP Government, and CSI Dual-Credit 111, 112 are offered. • The rigor of the course weeds students out, so no pre-requisite test scores required.
- 16. Scholarship Money Available •Madison County Pays $50 per credit if you you are resident. You Pay $65 Per Credit. (3 Credits Cost Students $195) – Free and Reduced Lunch Students get all $195 paid for in one class per semester as long as there is money in the fund. (We ran out third trimester this year.) – Juniors get $200 for dual-credit/ AP classes from the State. Seniors get $400. – Only 75% of that money can be spent at one time. (Goal to take 2 or more classes)
- 17. Scholarship Money Available •If students finish all their graduation requirements with the exception of math they can go to state schools their senior year at no cost for tuition. i.e. University Place in Idaho Falls – courses from ISU, University of Idaho

Starting College Transcripts Whatdo colleges/universities look at for entrance and scholarships? • G.P.A. & ACT/SAT scores • Class Rank • A.P. has a weighted G.P.A. • Most Dual-Credit Class do not have a weighted G.P.A. (exception: Calculus and Statistics) • Colleges want a simple G.P.A. However, they allow weighted G.P.A. for class rank. • A.P. grades go on college transcripts as a pass “p” • Dual-Credit classes go on transcripts as grade earned.
