Mr. Harvey Thought A Lot Essay
Mr. Harvey thought a lot. To say the least, time had been his only friend for years. Mr. Harvey was the
type of man to think all kinds of kooky and abstract things. He liked to think of how there had only
ever been one yellow paddle boat for hire amongst the numerous blue down at the rivers dock. He
thought of how on cheery spring days the children would beg their parents to leave a few minutes
earlier to snatch it up before the other kids did. He used to watch them for hours, the amusement on
their faces riding along the steady waters laughing at the other children because they got stuck in the
boring blue paddle boats. Time was funny like that he thought. Getting to the docks those couple
moments earlier than the other children, granted hours of joy because their yellow boat happened to
bet better than all the blues. He also thought them absurd, to Mr. Harvey colours were just colours, not
measures of happiness. But he knew the youths naivety was all that made them young.
He thought about Delilah s Deli which sat directly below his scungy old flat back in 1945. He used to
pick up one punnet of sun dried tomatoes, a 250g block of cheese and a small jar of pitted black olives
every Sunday morning at exactly 9:05, purely because that was when their stock was fresh and was
guaranteed to last the week. He remembered the betrayal he d felt when a little sign saying Closed For
Good swung like a newton s cradle on the door where the open sign used to hang. Mr. Harvey thought

Difference Between Traditional Marketing Vs. Traditional...
What is the Difference between Traditional Marketing vs Digital Marketing?
Every business organization knows that great marketing helps find and retain customers. In general,
most recognize that there are several ways to market their products or services. Now more than ever,
people spend more time online than they spend reading books, or watching TV? For this reason,
digital marketing continues to grow and provides a way for companies to market to their consumers
where consumers are spending their time! Traditional Marketing
Traditional marketing has been around forever. Common examples include TV, magazine, newspaper,
radio, business cards, flyers, and trade shows. Traditional marketing methods are very familiar and
generally easy to understand. For that reason, many companies continue to include traditional
marketing as part of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In June 1995, GNN was acquired by AOL for an estimated $11 million.
It was closed in 1996, and all the subscribers were moved to AOL s dial up service.
However, it was in October 1994, when the team at Hotwired the first commercial web magazine
deliberated on ways to pay their writers and the idea came in the form of selling ad spaces in large
quantities and the term banner advertising was coined. The plan was to create special sections on the
website for the banners to be displayed on. The idea was not entirely new though. AT T was one of the
first companies to buy ads on Hotwired.
You see, internet is now one of those things that is taken for granted. It s hard to imagine a life without
it. But before the internet, when people wanted to get connected online they had to opt for different
measures. You could use a Bulletin Board System to stay connected locally unless the system operator
was connected to a network like Wildcat, or to stay connected on a nationwide level, you had to use a
paid service, like

This short paper will evaluate whether or not a priori knowledge is possible. The questions regarding
the objections to the possibility of a priori knowledge are discussed, as are the possible resolutions to
such objections with a focus on Hilary Putnam s theory of contextual apriority. The nature of apriority
in mathematics will also be examined and its possible absolute a priori status. A short deliberation
regarding whether or not apriority obtains will conclude this paper, but before these are discussed the
meaning of a priori knowledge must be considered.
The Token Forms of Apriority A priori knowledge is generally understood as knowledge that is
independent of our experience with it. Unlike a posteriori knowledge that requires experience to
justify it, a priori knowledge can be referred to as armchair knowledge, such that one need not remove
himself from his seat to attain said knowledge. All bachelors are unmarried men illustrates a token
form of a priori knowledge, that being analytic. One can easily see that the knowledge

A Consequentialist Action Is The Moral Worth Of An Act
A consequentialist action is a utilitarian theory. The utilitarian theory is a choice between two acts that
can maximize utility for the greatest amount of happiness for the greatest number of people.
Utilitarianism is the moral worth of an act. Utilitarian takes the right proportion of utilities to promote
happiness and prevent pain. Utilities is the expressed quality of happiness or satisfaction one gets from
something (Mossier, 2013). Happiness comes in many levels of preference. However, the downside to
utilitarianism is identifying different levels of pleasure. Identifying different levels of pleasure can be
counteracted by an irrespective feelings to a moral obligation making the pleasure more desirable
(Mills, 2008). Utilitarian is not the agent s own greatest happiness, but the greatest amount of
happiness altogether. One of the most important social roles is conscious gratification in convey what
is gendered equality on jobs, in health care, and with education utilizing the utilitarian theory. Acts
like changing policies to promote gender equality that utilize skills and knowledge of women for the
greatest number of people from the greatest amount of happiness is utilitarianism. Gender equality
ought to be about equal justice. Held (n.d) contrasts the history of male and female ethics in an article

The Death Of Julius Caesar
Due to the writing and works of William Shakespeare, the death of Julius Caesar became the most
famous assassination in history. The death of Julius Caesar is placed in full context of Rome s civil
wars by eminent historian Barry Strauss. Moreover, the assassination itself was a complexly layered
plan that was a direct result of Caesar s power and leadership choices leading up to the fateful day.
These key events leading up to the Ides of March and the aftermath that followed are important to the
immense effect Caesar s death had on Rome, and the subsequent historical impact of Rome s demise.
In the height of Rome Caesar formed a political alliance with Pompey that dominated Roman politics.
Furthermore, Caesar s victories in the Gallic War and success of extending Roman territories granted
him ample military capacity. Therefore putting him in an unrivalled position of power and influence.
After assuming control of government, Caesar began a program of social and governmental reforms.
Caesar gave Rome renewed hope and was a leader to the middle and poor classes of ancient Rome.
Although, many historians still debate the details of the highly orchestrated murder, it is universally
apparent that many were involved in planning and carrying out the act. The intricate assassination was
not the work of just one man or women, but a collection of senators who conspired together for what
they believed the greater good. For the senators feared that Caesar, with his new found power,

Genesis: The formation and rise of the Gangster Disciple Nation The history of the Gangster Disciples
is one of many faces in order to understand the whole story; one must understand that it is in reality
the telling of three different stories, all of which took place at the same time. The story of David
Barksdale and Mac Aurther s David s and Devil s Disciples , The story of Larry Hoover and Andrew
Howard s Supreme Gangster Nation , and the story of Jerome Freeman and Harold Walker s Black
King Cobras . These are the Fathers of the Black Gangster Disciple Nation David and Devils

goals were to improve the life of inner city youth, such as the gang members. The Black King Cobras:
The Black King Cobras were also formed in the Englewood area of Chicago. They formed in August
of 1960, and were lead by Jerome Prince Shorty Freeman and Harold Money Walker their history is
very similar to that of David s and Devil s Disciples, because they were such a close group from the
start. Being formed for much of the same reason and having such a similar history to that of the
Disciples I will only touch on a few important parts of their history. First: they were the first gang in
Chicago (Quite possibly the whole USA too) to ever using gang signs. The sign was the formation of 2
hands in the shape of a Cobras head. Second: in 1962 a young man named Larry Hoover had sex with
Jerome s then girlfriend. This would be the start of a resentment that would last for three decades.
Third: Jerome was always really big on Black Rights and Political activism. He began to teach both
Harold and Durkey about the Black Nationalism Movement, after a while this moved to include many
others, among them where David, Mac, Shell, and Howard just to name a few. The Supreme Gangster
Nation: The Supreme Gangster Nation was a gang on the north side of

What makes Lincoln Electric Company so famous among management researchers and study
communities? What gives them competitive advantages? Lincoln is known for its high labor
productivity, very low employee turnover rate, high profitability and stable market share. The
principle behind Lincoln success is their incentive management style. This famous Lincoln
management style created a unique organizational culture. In this paper, I will be summarizing the
organization culture of Lincoln: how is it created and what values of culture Lincoln possesses using
Organization Culture Profile (OCP) topology?
How is this culture created? Surprisingly, unlike other corporation, it is not the founder, John C.

For him, the stockholders interests come last. The reason behind this is that the stockholders will
obtain their share of money regardless of their participation. In addition, he believed investors will
automatically come if a company is proven itself to be successful.
James believed that the interests of customers are best served by high employee s performance and
productivity. Therefore, he had implemented several plans and processes. The very first step he took
was founding the Advisory Board to represent employees voices. This Advisory Board is the one who
proposed famous Lincoln bonus plan which has been the backbone to Lincoln s management system.
Furthermore, Employees Association was formed to provide social activities and health benefits.
Wages are paid on piecework system and adjusted to Consumer Price Index. One of best move taken
by James was developing a stock purchase plan for all employees. The motive behind is to provide
incentive to help run company efficiently by sharing the sense of ownership.
By strolling through the interview sections of the case study by Sharplin, you get this sense; even
though employees at Lincoln work hard but their satisfaction toward their jobs is high. Referring to
organization culture profile, one can deduct that one value of Lincoln s strong culture is outcome

Analysis of Caius Cassius Character
Analysis of Caius Cassius Character
Caius Cassius plays one of the most important roles in William Shakespeare s play, Julius Caesar ,
which is centred round the assassination of the Roman dictator. The driving force behind the
conspiracy is Cassius though there are others who are unhappy with the state of affairs under the
prevailing system. Yet, they do not take an active part in the design to get rid of powerful Caesar. So, it
is not incorrect to state that the chief protagonist of the assassination plot is no one but Caius Cassius.
Let me have men about me that are fat;
Sleek headed men, and such as sleep o nights:
Yond Cassius has a lean and hungry look;
He thinks too much: such men are dangerous. Act1.ii.

The strategy succeeds in obtaining Brutus whole hearted involvement in the conspiracy when he says,
Speak, strike, redress! Am I entreated
To speak and strike? O Rome, I make thee promise,
If the redress will follow, thou receivest
Thy full petition at the hand of Brutus! Act 2.ii.
Though the method employed to convert Brutus is quite unprincipled, it shows, no doubt, the skill of a
practical man to achieve his objective by hook or by crook. Hence, it can be counted as a plus point in
his character. Brutus patriotism and self love impede him from seeing the deep chasm to which he is
pushed by artful manipulation.
Unlike Brutus, Cassius is a far sighted man. He is aware of the capability of Antony and his solid
friendship with Caesar. An important item in his plan is to get rid of Mark Antony as well, along with
Caesar since he concludes that he is a potential danger to their cause. But this is over ruled by Brutus
on the premise that it will foul their good intention. Brutus reaction to the suggestion is:
Let s be sacrificers, but not butchers, Caius. Act 2 Scene i.
What takes place later fully justifies the stand taken by Cassius with regard to Antony. If Brutus
agreed with Cassius, the conspiracy would have been a complete success.
Brutus permits Antony to make a funeral oration at Caesar s burial. Again Cassius objects to Antony
being allowed to speak for he sees it

The Threat Of Homeland Security
Homeland Security was created to protect not only the persons living and infrastructures within the
U.S. but outside as well. Though its existence, homeland security has done a spectacular job due to the
fact that the country is still standing. There are many persons and countries that would love to see
America fall flat on its face. Through corrective policy action and growth within our intelligence
functions we are now as strong as we were before. Nonetheless, Homeland security may still have its
flaws. In recent events, we have seen mass riots such as that in Ferguson, Mo and lone wolfs attacks in
the U.S. This has caused the activation of our National Guard. The military plays a large part in
overseas accomplishments and also plays a part within our borders. For military members to be
utilized on U.S soil they must first be activated by way of Title 10 orders. Before this can happen, the
in state governor must first place a request for military support. That request is then routed to congress
for approval. Military presence is used more so in augmentation on a temporary basis until local
authorities gather enough forces to disperse the situation. The military also has a larger role to play in
securing our homeland. If you look up and the sky you see a lot of space with these small lines in it
that streak across the sky. These are most likely our fighter jets patrolling our friendly skies. This was
pivotal in the response during 9/11. Our fighters were able to shoot

Effects Of Social Networking For Our Society Essay
Are Social Networking Sites Good for Our Society? How does social networking sites affect our
society? We all know that social networking sites changed the way we communicate, and many people
are using these sites. As a teenager and a college student, social networking sites has given me a lot of
information and opportunity to socialize and help for my college tests, communicating with my
friends, and many more. Another positive effect of social networking sites is it providing real time
news. According to a website called Pew Research Center who has experts in statistics, it stated About
a quarter of all U.S. adults (26%) get news from two or more social media sites, up from 15% in 2013
and 18% in 2016. But what are the positive effects of social networking in our society? The three
positive effects of social networking sites are it provides easy and instant communication, it helps
college students, and it help us to find a job easily. The first positive effect of social networking site is
it provides easy and instant communication. When I was in the Philippines, I was far away with my
parents. The only communication that we had is through social networking sites (ex: Facebook).
Social networking site has given me the opportunity to talked to my loved ones. Another example is
when my friends want to reach me out. Instead of texts and calls they usually message me directly in
my social accounts. So, it means social networking sites really provide an easy and instant

Essay about Karl Marx s Communist Manifesto
Karl Marx s Communist Manifesto
Faith and Reason
Communism can seem very desirable. It argued a world without war, in which the meek and the
disadvantaged would share without distinction, the anticipated material and spiritual abundance
generated by advanced. (Gregor 19) This seems as though it would be the ideal form of government
but in reality it is far from that. I will tell you about three of the most powerful communist countries of
the twentieth century. The countries that I am talking about are the Soviet Union, or Russia as it is
called today, the Peoples Republic of China, and Cuba.
Communism is a theory that states that society should own all property. There should be no private

The entire economic status of the Soviet Union was now controlled by the government. Also, all
private ownership ended. There were no exceptions. Along with this, a large industrialization program
was started and the Soviet Military was being strengthened. The Soviet Union was now considered a
super power and only the United States was more powerful.
Then in 1953, after the death of Stalin, Nikita Khrushchev became the First Secretary of the
Communist party. This was a very different time than that of Stalin. People were given a say in the
government. A very small say but it was still a say. Also, the judicial branch of the government
stopped their rampage against threats to the communist party and gave better chances for defendants
to defend themselves. Khrushchev focused more on the individual, attempting to make food more
available, making goods easier to come by, and providing more housing. Also, leadership was
decentralized so that owners and managers had an easier time running their businesses. Soon after this
he was kicked out of office for a couple of reasons. The first was due to a shortage of dairy and grain
product. Also, there was extreme turmoil in the communist party at this time. The next leader of
Soviet communism was Leonid Brezhnev. He took office in October of 1964. Under this new leader
the government was centralized, again. During this time there was an unstable

Human Cloning Should Not be Permitted Essay
According to Richard Seed, cloning is inevitable. If I don t do it, someone else will. There s no way
you can stop science (qtd. in Kadrey 2001). Depending on one s personal opinion about cloning,
human cloning in particular, a quote such as that will most likely either anger a reader or excite them.
Human cloning is one of the hottest topics for debate in society today the lines are very strictly drawn
between those in favor of continuing cloning research and those who are staunchly opposed to it.
Meanwhile, despite public opinion, science trudges on behind closed doors working to clone the first
human. This paper will first provide a thorough, but brief, introduction into the topic of cloning itself,
including its history ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, her creation sparked many efforts to end cloning research for fear of future possibilities
involving human cloning. Later that same year, cows were cloned in the same manner, and if scientists
had not already been considering investigating the cloning of humans, they were then (Humber and
Almeder 1998). Animal research has become routine. Mice, sheep, cows, goats, pigs, even a rare
Asian gaur a massive wild ox have been cloned. Dogs and cats are expected to appear soon. Primate
researcher [Don] Wolf expects to successfully impregnate monkeys with clones sometime this spring.
You can now order up you own cloned cow on the Net (Alexander 2001).
Recently, the lid on the topic of human cloning has come off in abrupt fashion. Scientists around the
world claim that they now have the technology and participants to clone humans. Of notable interest is
an Italian group headed by Severino Antinori and Panos Zavos who have created quite a stir by saying
that they are ...ready to start work on the first human clone within weeks (Italy doctor 2001). Antinori,
an Italian doctor, and Zavos, a fertility doctor in the United States, claim that they have 700 couples
that have volunteered to be a part of this project (Italy doctor 2001). In 1998, Korean researchers
claimed to have cloned what would be the first cloned human. An egg cell that was implanted with
genetic material from a volunteer woman was allowed to divide twice

Once Upon A Time… There Were Two Cats, Katy And Alto, Who
Once upon a time... there were two cats, Katy and Alto, who lived in a boring little town. During the
long summers they would bathe in the sun and sit at the windows watching the birds fly by. Now, all
of this was great, but after a couple months, they began to get bored and wanted something new and
exciting to do. Luckily for them, it was beginning to get cold outside, which meant it was almost their
favorite time of the year, Christmas!
Why do Katy and Alto love Christmas time so much? For Alto, Christmas is the time of year when the
great Christmas tree comes to stay at the house. She loves hiding under the tree, drinking the tree s
water, running circles around the tree, and playing with the ornaments that are placed on the tree for ...

Katy had already lain down for her mid afternoon nap and did not want to get up or play any of Alto s

what she wants. (She likes to remind the humans of this persistence when they do not feed her quickly
enough!) Eventually Katy gave in and walked over to the tree with Alto. She tasted some of the water
and thought to herself, Why do I let Alto talk me into these things; there is nothing weird about this
water! But just as she was thinking this, she began to feel what Alto had described, and before they
knew it, they were being transported to a place they had never seen before.
Woah! Where are we!? said Alto. There s so much snow; let s run around in it!
Katy was not as impressed because she likes to stay curled up in her favorite chair at home and this
was definitely not her favorite chair or anywhere near home. Alto soon realized that the snow maybe
was not as great as she had first thought. The snow was cold and wet. Cats do not like to be cold and
wet. Even though they each had some issues with this new place, they were determined to figure out
where they were and how they got there. So, they began to explore.
As they were walking around, Katy saw something small and green run into a big building off in the
distance. Obviously they were not going to pass up the chance to check this out, so they ran in the

Introduction: In recent years police departments have been brought into the public eye based on the
public belief that police brutality has become a norm within the police system in recent years. Yet this

Tourette s Syndrome Analysis
Barking, convulsive tics, grimacing, swearing Imagine having frequent involuntary urges of mimicry
and repetition of abrupt behaviors. These traits are often associated with Tourette Syndrome, a
neurological disorder that researchers believe is caused by and abnormal metabolism of the
neurotransmitters, dopamine and serotonin. It is genetically transmitted from parent to child. There is
a fifty percent chance of passing the gene on from parent to child. It s one of the more common
genetic diseases detected in one to ten children out of 1,000. The exact cause of Tourette s syndrome is
still unknown, some research suggests that it occurs when the neurotransmitters fail to balance within
the brain. Readers question, how someone can go from tossing pots and pans, to being very precise as
a highly recommended surgeon. Tourette s Syndrome does not totally affect a persons life
productivity, nor does it it result in an altered life expectancy. Populations not affected by this
disorder, fail to understand how someone could suddenly exhibit such normality. Developing a further

The Carbon Cycle And The Earth s Climate
The carbon cycle on Earth is essentially how all organisms maintain life on our planet. According to
the article The Carbon Cycle and The Earth s Climate, carbon is stored inside our Earth and is released
in our atmosphere, plants then combine this element with sunlight and water to go through the process
of photosynthesis. Photosynthesis allows plants to form carbohydrates that store energy and this
energy is later used to carry out life functions. Photosynthesis is also responsible for other organisms
to carry out their life functions as well because the byproduct it produces is oxygen. The carbon cycle
is not only accountable for making byproducts that organisms need to live, it is also responsible for
maintaining the climate on the planet. CO2 is a greenhouse gas that traps infrared radiation heat in our
atmosphere, it maintains temperatures on Earth so that it never gets too cold or too hot for organisms
to maintain life (Columbia University). The Carbon Cycle is responsible for maintaining temperatures
on our planet but it does need help from living organisms to aid with the process. According to the
article What are Phytoplankton, organisms such as Phytoplankton are responsible for the transfer of
carbon dioxide from our atmosphere to our oceans, Phytoplankton take CO2 from the atmosphere
absorb it and either get eaten by other organisms or fall to the ocean floor. This process takes
greenhouse gasses from our atmosphere and puts it in the depths of our

The Army Body Composition Program
The Army Body Composition Program (ABCP) relies on a basic form of body circumference
measurements to determine a soldier s body fat composition. Many people believe this standard of
measuring is an unfair and inaccurate representation of their true body composition. There are several
options that could provide a more accurate measurement such as hydrostatic testing, skin fold method,
Bioelectric Impedance Analysis (BIA) only to name a few. There are many factors that influence the
decisions of leaders such as availability, cost, reliability and accuracy of the method in which method
they decide to use.
The Army s circumference measuring is the only way authorized to determine a soldier s body
composition. For males it is used by measuring the circumference of the neck and waist and for
females it is the waist, neck and hips. Based on soldiers height and age their body composition is
calculated and compared to a predetermined chart. Many service members including leaders disagree
with this method of determining body composition stating it is outdated and inaccurate; however,
there are many benefits to using this method as well. This method is beneficial being in the military
because it is cost effective, easy to administer, and the least time consuming of most of the other
options out there. This way of measuring can be considered inaccurate. It does not directly reflect the
body composition of the person being measured especially for individuals who participate in

Neutrality In My Brother Sam Is Dead
The American Revolution was a war of principles fought by Loyalists and Patriots. However,
Loyalists believed in neutrality, peace, and no brutality or treason. Therefore, Patriots believed in
freedom of religion, the right to bear arms, and the right to break away from the British government.
In the novel My Brother Sam is Dead created by James Lincoln Collier and Christopher Collier, a
family disputes over which side is right. James and Christopher Collier use the ironies of Life, Jerry,
and Sam s death to induce Tim s decision of neutrality. Firstly, Life s death contributes to Tim s
reasons to be neutral. For an instance, Tim finds out that father was taken by cowboys on the way back
from Verplanks Point. In June of that year, 1777, we found out that father was dead. ...it wasn t a
Rebel prison, ship it was a British one (164). Tim expects father would die because the cowboys had
already attacked him for cattle and he was a Loyalist. Tim discovers that loyalty is valued in the
British side. He thinks that why should he be loyal to a side that s dishonest. Tim chooses neutrality
because the Loyalists are deceptive, brutal, and aren t true to their word. Since Tim does not want to
be on a side with a bunch of hypocrites, he becomes neutral. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The Theme of Hope in One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich
In Alexander Solzhenitsyn s novel One Day in the Life of
Ivan Denisovich, the strong themes of hope and perseverance are
undercut by the realization that for Ivan there is little or no
purpose in life. This is not to say that the themes of hope and
perseverance do not exist in the novel. There are numerous
instances in the novel where Shukhov is filled with hope.
However, these moments of hope amidst the banal narrative of the
novel raise the interesting question: Are these moments of hope
pointless? The answer to this question may lie more in the
individual human nature of the reader than in Solzhenitsyn s

Much of the Soviet leadership despised
Solzhenitsyn because he instilled within the Soviet people much
of the same hope that is visible in Ivan Denisovich Shukhov.
Solzhenitsyn gave people hope:
Solzhenitsyn s literary mission, the process of giving
voice to the tens of millions of victims of Soviet
terror, went on secretly, even collectively. Much of
Gulag was based on the hundreds of letters and memoirs
that former prisoners mailed to Solzhenitsyn after One
Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich was published.
Andropov had an intuitive sense that this new work
could do as much, in its way, to undermine Soviet power
as all the nuclear arsenals in the West. (Remnick 118)
Solzhenitsyn uses the every day occurrences of Ivan Denisovich
Shukhov s life to accentuate this point about humanity.
Shukhov s day began with reveille. Shukhov never slept through
reveille but always got up at once. That gave him about an hour
and a half to himself before the morning roll call (Solzhenitsyn
1). This short amount of time at the beginning of the day was
precious because it was the only time during the day, except for
a few minutes in the evening, that the prisoners had to
themselves. This short amount of time provided hope for the
prisoners in a number of ways. It was a time when anyone who
knew what was what in the camps could always scrounge

Just as 1 Corinthians 13:11 reminds us, When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child,
I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things, even my style of learning
has changed. Until this semester, I would say that of course I had the characteristics to be a successful
online student; how hard could it be? But, ironically, during the same week that I first read Taormino s
article, I began to fall behind in my classes. As I write this paper, I m juggling extra duties at home
while my wife and I both recover from a nasty car accident. Fortunately neither of us were seriously
hurt, but because my wife already suffers from a chronic autoimmune disease, even her minor injuries
were enough to throw her into a painful exacerbation. What does this have to do with my online
education? Well, everything, to be honest. All of the time I normally had set aside for my coursework
must now be devoted to the daily management of our home (things that my wife usually takes care of).
It s astonishing how quickly time gets away from us! I ve learned through this series of unfortunate
events that I must take control of my time, rather than allowing it to take control of me. As Taormino
asserts, Students need to plan their time accordingly to have sufficient opportunity to complete
assignments and work iteratively based on feedback. Without time

Competitive Sports
There has been a big argument about the injuries of competitive sports and if kids should be playing
them. There is a lot of opinions on if kids should play competitive sports or if they should not be
allowed to play competitive sports. Some people argue about the injuries and risk that sports give to
young children and the pressure that goes with them. Others argue that sports give more than just
injuries like life skills such as motivation and commitment. According to the New York Times ( 2015
), over 50% of high schoolers get a concussion in competitive sports. However, in this essay, I will be
talking about some the life skills that competitive sports give you and how they outweigh the pressure
and injuries in competitive sports give.
My first reason for why competitive sports help kids with life skills is that kids gain self confidence
when playing sports. One reason sports help with self confidence is it helps with setting goals.
According to Muhealth, ( 2017 ) Watching your hard work pay off and achieving your goals develops
self confidence. Achieving a sport or fitness goal encourages you to achieve other goals you set. This
is a rewarding and exciting learning process. This is showing that setting and then eventually
achieving your goals in sports and helps a lot with the self confidence of children. My second reason
is that when kids play sports they help kids be themselves and helps the kids view themselves in a
good way. This is supported by Margaret Talbot,

Review Of Stephenie Meyer s Twilight

Research Paper
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer is a romantic book about two teenagers, a girl named Bella and a
vampire named Edward. The two of them fall in love, and Bella is put in danger by a different group
of vampires. There have been several different types of criticism towards this book and every criticism
is different ; it includes being one hundred percent justifiable to do absolutely anything for the one you
love. Others have also said that it was not intended to relate to teen girls, but it actually ended up
doing just that. Also, some critics have compared Twilight to Harry Potter in the sense that both of the
stories lie in a dream (Bethune). Brian Bethune wrote a criticism called Love at First Bite which at
first compares Stephenie Meyer s Twilight to J.K. Rowlings Harry Potter. There are various reasons
why Bethune believes that Twilight is similar to Harry Potter. He believes that Meyer s and Rowling s
stories lie in a dream (Bethune). This is easy to agree with because Twilight is based on a vampire
friendly romance. This is obviously unrealistic and would never happen in real life. In Harry Potter,
the story is based on a warlock who fights off all different kinds of magical and mythical creatures.
Evidently, it is easy to figure out that this story also lies in a dream. Bethune starts to talk about
religion which is based on Stephenie Meyer s real life and how her religion is somewhat duplicated in
her Twilight

And, they are not done yet!
Of course, being certain isn t always going to get you the results you want. If you are certain that you
are going to marry a superstar, for instance, and they are married and twenty years older than you,
then the chances of that happening are small. But, when it comes to improving your life, grabbing
hold of that conviction that you could achieve what you want to achieve is the key to helping you get
off your butt and doing things that help you move closer to it.
3. Trying To Believe Something You Don t?
When you go beyond the threshold that somebody believes, it s over, cause they check out and go I
can t do that , I won t do that , There s no way .
Tony Robbins was talking about this in a sports context, but it works for anything. If someone tells
you that you should perform 50% better, and you don t believe that you can, then you will check out.
You will find a way to get out of having to even try to perform 50% better. If you don t believe it, you
simply won t allow the idea into your head.
That s not good news if you want to improve your life and become more successful. You need to find
some crack in your belief system that allows you to see a potential for the outcome you want. The
good news is that we CAN change our beliefs. We are not doomed to believe something for the rest of

How eeg works and data is created
EEG measures the electrical activity of the brain by placing multiple electrodes on the scalp. All the
electrodes work instantaneously and produce data in the form of multi channel time series in real time.
These sensors can pick up about thousand data points every second. The electrical activity produced
by a brain neuron is too small to be recorded by EEG [11]. An EEG electrode records from a
combination of many concentrated neurons. Each EEG channel is calculated by taking the difference
between recordings of two electrodes.

Don Quixote Sparknotes
In Miguel de Cervantes book Don Quixote, the protagonist of this book is Don Quixote, a man who
has gone mad and assumed the identity of a knight errant. Don Quixote wanders the countryside in
search of maidens to save, duels to engage in, and enchanters to stop. The comedic element of this
book revolves around Don Quixote s unbreaking faith in the stories of chivalry which he reads. Our
main character gets himself into countless embarrassing scrapes due to the fact that he thinks fairies,
enchanters, and dragons exist. In the famous story of the windmill, where Don Quixote mistakes a
windmill for a giant, we see that his worldview is greatly warped by the stories which he has read.
Miguel de Cervantes is by no means a silent narrator, he often inputs his opinions and uses insults to
describe the protagonist, using phrases such as madman or fool . Cervantes uses the great faith Don
Quixote exhibits to input his own raillery against faith. In fact, it can be said that one of the main
points behind the story of Don Quixote was a ridicule of blind faith. ... Show more content on

Why Pride Is Nothing To Be Proud Of By John Amondeo Ph. D.
A Seed of Pride Pride, a seed that is planted and is left to sprout. Pride can be a user of good or evil all
depending on how we feed it. Merriam Webster defines pride three different ways in one it defines

How far do you agree that the Qing Dynasty fell mainly because of the humiliation of China at the

The Qing Dynasty fell apart in the 19th after flourishing throughout the 18th century. Like many
complicated systems, it grew brittle and inflexible. It could not adjust as new problems arose. Bad
harvests, warfare, rebellions, overpopulation, economic disasters, and foreign imperialism contributed

The Qing Dynasty had experience a very prosperous period. But at the middle of the Chien Lung
years, there were both internal problems and external invasion. And let s see how these problems
became the symptoms of decline of this former great country. The administrative inefficiency was a
serious problem causing the Qing government to collapse. Since the emperor of the Qing government
held a suspicion feeling on the officials, so he set up many restrictions, checks and regulations on
them. Gradually the officials thought the less responsibility the less risk they will face. This really
hinders the administration of the government. And there was nobody wants to take charge on
important matters. So the decision had to be maked up by the emperor himself. But after Chien Lung
there was no great emperor. At this point you are probably wondering how on Earth the Qing Dynasty
lasted this long after all the wars and rebellions. And by this time it seemed as if China did not have
much say in what went on in its own territories. Communism was clearly not working for China. Sun
Yat Sen realized this and he attempted to do something about it. He came close to death to try and
make his dream of China becoming a Republic a reality. In the 1890 s he formed a secret, anti Qing
society and by 1895 there was a price for his head in China forcing him to have to leave the country.
His dream was to see China become a Republic and to make this happen he

National Football Game Analysis
The modern National Football League, more commonly known as the NFL, has been around since
1924. It consists of thirty two teams, spread out in eight divisions inside two conferences, the AFC and
the NFC. The season is relatively short, with only sixteen regular season games. Only twelve teams
make the playoffs, with four receiving a first round bye. The third round, the AFC and NFC
Championships, determine who will play in the Superbowl for a chance at a winning title and glory.
The games are single elimination, and thus if a team hopes to win the Vince Lombardi trophy at the
Superbowl, it is imperative they win every game after the regular season finishes. On January 18th,
2015, the New England Patriots faced off against the visiting Indianapolis ... Show more content on

Even though DeflateGate was still a key issue in the league, Brady was still out for the first four
games of the year, forcing the Patriots to use rookie quarterbacks (Bedard 66). Jimmy Garoppolo, a
second round pick in the 2014 draft, was expected to start the first four games, putting massive
pressure on him and the Patriots defensive line to increase their performances (Bedard 66). Bedard
writes that under Brady, the Patriots defense and offence both finished in the top ten among all NFL
teams in 2015, setting the bar very high for their backup quarterbacks. All these disadvantages given
to the Patriots brought Goodell s reputation into question, and even though Goodell got to punish
Brady, he may have caused his image harm by continuing to fight for his punishment to be accepted. A
federal judge, when Brady presented his formal legal appeal, concluded that Goodell s punishment
was outside his power, seeing as The NFL had a punishment for tampering with game equipment, and
it wasn t a particularly large one: a fine of $25,000. Instead, Goodell ended up fining the Patriots $1
million, taking two draft picks. And then on top of that, he suspended Brady, even though the NFL s
manual prescribes a team punishment rather than a player punishment (Sherman). The judge decides,

Essay on Roy Lichtenstein
Roy Lichtenstein
Roy Lichtenstein was born in New York City on October 27th, 1923. He described his childhood as
quiet and uneventful. His father was a realtor; his mother was a housewife. Art was not taught at the
school Roy attended, but when he turned fourteen he began taking Saturday morning classes at the
Parson School of Design. After he graduated from high school in 1940 he attended the School of Fine
Art at Ohio State University. He was drafted however in 1943 in the middle of his education at Ohio
State. While he was in the military he served in Great Britain and Europe. When he returned to the
U.S. in 1946, he completed his studies for his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree at Ohio State University
in 1949. After he got his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1969 he was given a retrospective at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York.
His career as an artist mainly started in 1951, he usually painted cowboys and Indians in various
modern art styles. In 1957 he tried his hand at Abstract Expressionism. What he is famous for though
is his works based on comic strips. This all began with a painting he made of Mickey Mouse in 1960
for his children. By 1961 Lichtenstein was completely dedicated to the making of art from mass
produced, merchandising images. His comic strip paintings, such as Good Morning, Darling, are
blowups of the original cartoon characters, reproduced by hand, with the same technique of benday
dots and bright primary colors used in printing. This result was a blend of commercial art and
abstraction. He tried to use brilliant colors outlined in black to emphasis the visual impact. These
painting made him famous and the first one man show of his comic strip paintings was in New York
City in 1962. It was a major success and by 1968 the interest in his artwork was phenomenal. He has
the distinction of being the first American artist to have an exhibition at London s Tate Gallery.
Lichtenstein continued in this area for a while, taking subjects from sentimental
Romance magazines. He enclosed speeches in balloons and made landscapes in the
Comic book style. He also dabbled in making statues during this time, which

The Inspiring Education Document By Dr. Richard Moniuszko
In the Inspiring Education Document , a quote from Dr. Richard Moniuszko is included in the opening
lines of the report that outlines the direction that current educational practices are moving. Moniuszko
states we need to prepare kids for their future not our past (as cited by Pink, 2009) which encapsulates
the vision of the proposed transformation that is needed to take place in order to prepare students to be
successful members of society. According to Rosefsky, in opposition to traditional educational
practices, the interconnectedness of the 21st century global economy, ecosystem, and political
networks require that students learn to communicate, collaborate, and problem solve with people
worldwide (2012).
Within the Inspiring Education document, the vision for core competencies in 21st century learning
requires a shift away from traditional dissemination of information and re call of facts (Alberta
Education, 2010) and instead focuses on student centered learning models of inquiry and discovery.
This shift in educational practice requires students to acquire new abilities and focus on higher order
thinking skills, deeper learning outcomes, and complex thinking and communication skills (Saavedra,
2012) and involves teachers creating appropriate instructional and assessment practices.
Effects of Globalization on 21st Century Education Ustun defines Globalization as the unification of
the world politically, economically, socially and culturally with many

Trans-Trans Dibenzalacetone Lab Report
After the crude product was collected by crystallization process, it was weighted to be 8.4756 g. it was
recrystallized and collected. The weight of pure product was obtained to be 5.772 g In comparison to
the theoretical yield of the experiment; it was calculated to be 65.99 % recover and 82% total yield.
The melting point (MP) of the product was taken in order to identify the product. 2 trials were
performed, and the results of both trials are the same, 102 105oC. The expected product of this
experiment was dibenzalacetone, which has 3 different isomers: cis cis, trans trans, and cis trans, with
different MPs and boiling point (BP). The true MP of Trans trans dibenzalacetone isomer is 110
110oC (ref. 3). The true MP of cis cis dibenzalacetone isomer is 60oC (ref. 3). Cis cis dibenzalacetone
doesn t have MP because its appearance is oil (ref.3). In, comparison to all the isomers, the product s
MP was closet to trans trans dibenzalacetone, although the product MP was lower than the true MP of
trans trans dibenzalacetone. There were some possible reasons why the MP of the product was lower.
The intermediate, benzalacetone with the MP of 42oC (Ref. 2), could be existed in the product
resulting in lower the MP of the product. Another reason could be that the cis trans isomer of
dibenzalacetone existed in the product. In order to confirm which reason is the case, infrared spectrum
(IR) (see attached ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through the analysis of IR spectrum, the product was confirmed to have both cis trans isomer and
trans trans isomer of dibenzalacetone in the product. Trans trans isomer was the major product,
because of the Experimental MP was closer to the trans trans isomer MP, 110 111 oC, than cis trans
isomer MP, 60oC. The % yield of the reaction was calculated to be 82% yield, with 65.99 % recovery

Conquest Of Constantinople Research Paper
The conquest of Constantinople was wrongly justified and resulted with the fall of the Byzantine
Empire. The Fourth Crusade began when the Crusaders went to Venice to ask for ships to sail to Egypt
but was unable to afford it. In exchange for ships, the Crusaders agreed to regain the city of Zara
under Hungarian rule. The Crusaders were able to claim back Zara for the Venetians but were
excommunicated since they attacked a Christian city. Right before they were going to Egypt, Alexius
Comnenus asked for help from the Crusaders to help him restore his power in the Byzantine Empire.
In exchange for help, Alexius would provide the Crusaders, supplies, ships and necessary help for the
siege of Jerusalem. In 1203, the Crusaders would band with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In the sermon, the bishops insisted that soldiers ...confess their sins and receive the communion
devoutly; and said that they ought not to hesitate to attack the Greeks, for the latter were enemies of
God. 2 Although the Crusaders were excommunicated by Pope Innocent III, the bishops still had the
power to claim the war was just under the name of God. When the Crusaders began sacking the city
they engaged in stealing gold and silver, others precious stones... 3 This was justified since it was
considered a right of conquest... 4 This wrongful justification was obviously fueled by the agreement
made with Alexius to restore power for goods. Time and time again in the conquest of Constantinople,
the Crusaders would wrongly justify their attacks in the name of God or righteousness. The Fourth
Crusade was initiated based on greed and the idea the Crusaders could gain more for their siege of the
Holy Land. The Crusaders chose to attack Zara, a Christian city to get ships against the pleasing of the
Pope. The Crusaders would get the ships but then attempt to gain more by helping Alexius regain his
power in the Byzantine empire. They justified their attacks on Constantinople as holy and

The Paul Of The Apostle Paul
The apostle Paul was known to many as Saul of Tarsus. There is no doubt he was born to Jewish
parents whose residence was in the city of Tarsus of Cilicia. In the Book of Acts 23:6, his own
admission relates that he was a Hebrew of Hebrews, but he was also a son of a Pharisee. In Phil. 3:4 5,
Paul states that he was from the tribe of Benjamin. At an early age, Paul was taught in tent making
according to Acts 18:3. At an early age, he was sent to Jerusalem to study under a well known teacher
by the name of Gamaliel (Acts 22:3). Paul was an expert in the Jewish religion, which he followed
through his family (Gal. 1:14). Once Paul graduated, he became a very zealous religious Jew. The aim
of Paul s trade was to see the church persecuted. In Acts 7:58 83, readers are reminded that Paul was
present when Stephen was stoned and killed. Saul carried a warrant from the High Priest so he could
go against the people of the early Christian church (Acts 26:10 11). Paul might have been a Roman
citizen, but he was cultured in the Greek way of doing things. This can be found in Acts 17:28. Paul
knew the mindset of many Greek thoughts and sayings in his time. The conversion of Saul to Paul was
a dramatic one. In one of his missions on the road to Damascus, Paul encounters the risen Jesus Christ,
which changed his entire life from then on. He was never the same person that people had known
before. Jesus enters into Paul s life and he decides to dedicate the rest of his life for the service

Writing An Annotated Bibliography
Hello Everyone, I have written many papers in my time, but I can say that I ve never had to write an
annotated bibliography. If I have I completely forgot what it even was, I guess the name sounds more
challenging than what it actually is. Now knowing the use for the annotated bibliography, I know the
great value that it holds when constructing a research paper. It allows you to think on a much deeper
level as to where you are getting your information, also what the level of importunacy for each
citation. This much needed detail is what a key to information, people need to know where
information is coming from as well as the reader knowing the purpose. I think that this will make
writing my paper an easier process, as I will already know

Stalinist Revolution Essay
In the Soviet Union during the 1920s and 1930s a second revolution occurred within the government,
economy, and culture. This second revolution is known as the Stalinist Revolution. The Stalinist
Revolution brought with it many reforms that continued to change the state from the Tsarist Regime.
The new communist government also caused many political changes. Within the Stalinist Revolution
there were many political changes. Along with the political changes there was also another revamp of
the economic policy of the USSR. Potentially one of the largest changes to the USSR was the Stalinist

The Purges allowed Stalin even further control of the party. Under the guise of unmasking enemies,
Stalin selected government and party members who would be tried as counter revolutionaries and
sentenced to death or sent to Gulags that were set up all across Russia. This idea itself is a major
addition to the idea that Stalin started a second revolution in the USSR .
By removing anyone who stood in the way of his policies, Stalin was free to rule the way he saw fit.
In essence Stalin had created a government where anything he said, went. The Purges also changed the
face of the government. Offices that had long been held by a single man were now occupied by new
faces. This is comparable to the personnel changes that occurred during the October Revolution.
Another component of the Stalinist Revolution was the idea of Socialism in One Country. After the
fall of all other socialist regimes in Europe, Stalin came to the conclusion that the Soviet Union must
strengthen itself internally and must push towards communism alone until other countries were ready
for the Socialist Revolution. This idea that Stalin supported so vehemently was a large contributor to
Stalin s ability to further exercise his control over the nation and influence the economic policy of the
Soviet Union, with such measures as the Five Year Plans and the removal of the New Economic
Policy .
During the Tsarist Reign the citizens underwent a conditioning that has become known as

Government in Upper and Lower Canada
The need for government reform in Upper and Lower Canada was created because of the incompetent
way the government managed the country, a lack of representation in the government, a lack of
understanding of the colonist s in Upper and Lower Canada, and discrimination towards the French in
Lower Canada. Numerous colonists arrived to Upper and Lower Canada to begin a new life with a
proper government however, the government in Canada did not satisfy their needs. Firstly, the
unskilled way the government ran Upper and Lower Canada upset the colonists. This included a lack
of land for the colonists, even though they were promised land when they arrived in British North
America. Settlers were unhappy about land distribution particularly about the clergy and crown
reserves and the land speculators that were part of the Family Compact. Also, absentee landlords
overpriced and tied up prime land. The settlers were also unhappy that the building of roadways was
hindered by the clergy and crown reserves. The colonists were unhappy with the government and the
colonists complained loudly about land and roads. Most knew that the Family Compact was to blame
and they did not disguise their anger (Pg. 66). This meant that the colonists were aware that the
Family Compact was responsible for this problem because they completely ignored the colonist s
complaints and they did not do anything to help them. They could veto any laws passed by the
Assembly and they did; they shut down

  • 2. Mr. Harvey Thought A Lot Essay Mr. Harvey thought a lot. To say the least, time had been his only friend for years. Mr. Harvey was the type of man to think all kinds of kooky and abstract things. He liked to think of how there had only ever been one yellow paddle boat for hire amongst the numerous blue down at the rivers dock. He thought of how on cheery spring days the children would beg their parents to leave a few minutes earlier to snatch it up before the other kids did. He used to watch them for hours, the amusement on their faces riding along the steady waters laughing at the other children because they got stuck in the boring blue paddle boats. Time was funny like that he thought. Getting to the docks those couple moments earlier than the other children, granted hours of joy because their yellow boat happened to bet better than all the blues. He also thought them absurd, to Mr. Harvey colours were just colours, not measures of happiness. But he knew the youths naivety was all that made them young. He thought about Delilah s Deli which sat directly below his scungy old flat back in 1945. He used to pick up one punnet of sun dried tomatoes, a 250g block of cheese and a small jar of pitted black olives every Sunday morning at exactly 9:05, purely because that was when their stock was fresh and was guaranteed to last the week. He remembered the betrayal he d felt when a little sign saying Closed For Good swung like a newton s cradle on the door where the open sign used to hang. Mr. Harvey thought ... Every business organization knows that great marketing helps find and retain customers. In general, most recognize that there are several ways to market their products or services. Now more than ever, people spend more time online than they spend reading books, or watching TV? Though the method employed to convert Brutus is quite unprincipled, it shows, no doubt, the skill of a practical man to achieve his objective by hook or by crook. Hence, it can be counted as a plus point in his character. Brutus patriotism and self love impede him from seeing the deep chasm to which he is pushed by artful manipulation. An important item in his plan is to get rid of Mark Antony as well, along with Caesar since he concludes that he is a potential danger to their cause. The Theme of Hope in One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich In Alexander Solzhenitsyn s novel One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich, the strong themes of hope and perseverance are undercut by the realization that for Ivan there is little or no purpose in life. This is not to say that the themes of hope and perseverance do not exist in the novel. There are numerous instances in the novel where Shukhov is filled with hope. Taken directly from God s Word, I was reminded by my Professor this week of one of my favorite verses from the book of Isaiah. Interestingly enough, before I began my venture into higher education, I was scared: scared of failure, scared of the commitment it would require, and even scared of the possibility that I just might not be cut out for the task ahead. What does this have to do with my online education? Well, everything, to be honest. All of the time I normally had set aside for my coursework must now be devoted to the daily management of our home (things that my wife usually takes care of). It s astonishing how quickly time gets away from us! I ve learned through this series of unfortunate events that I must take control of my time, rather than allowing it to take control of me. There is a lot of opinions on if kids should play competitive sports or if they should not be allowed to play competitive sports. Some people argue about the injuries and risk that sports give to young children and the pressure that goes with them. Others argue that sports give more than just injuries like life skills such as motivation and commitment. According to the New York Times ( 2015 ), over 50% of high schoolers get a concussion in competitive sports. However, in this essay, I will be talking about some the life skills that competitive sports give you and how they outweigh the pressure and injuries in competitive sports give. My first reason for why competitive sports help kids with life skills is that kids gain self confidence when playing sports. One reason sports help with self confidence is it helps with setting goals. According to Muhealth, ( 2017 ) Watching your hard work pay off and achieving your goals develops self confidence. Achieving a sport or fitness goal encourages you to achieve other goals you set. This is a rewarding and exciting learning process. There have been several different types of criticism towards this book and every criticism is different ; it includes being one hundred percent justifiable to do absolutely anything for the one you love. Others have also said that it was not intended to relate to teen girls, but it actually ended up doing just that. Also, some critics have compared Twilight to Harry Potter in the sense that both of the stories lie in a dream (Bethune). Brian Bethune wrote a criticism called Love at First Bite which at first compares Stephenie Meyer s Twilight to J.K. Rowlings Harry Potter. There are various reasons why Bethune believes that Twilight is similar to Harry Potter. He believes that Meyer s and Rowling s stories lie in a dream (Bethune). This is easy to agree with because Twilight is based on a vampire friendly romance. This is obviously unrealistic and would never happen in real life. In Harry Potter, the story is based on a warlock who fights off all different kinds of magical and mythical creatures. Evidently, it is easy to figure out that this story also lies in a dream. Don Quixote wanders the countryside in search of maidens to save, duels to engage in, and enchanters to stop. The comedic element of this book revolves around Don Quixote s unbreaking faith in the stories of chivalry which he reads. Our main character gets himself into countless embarrassing scrapes due to the fact that he thinks fairies, enchanters, and dragons exist. In the famous story of the windmill, where Don Quixote mistakes a windmill for a giant, we see that his worldview is greatly warped by the stories which he has read. Miguel de Cervantes is by no means a silent narrator, he often inputs his opinions and uses insults to describe the protagonist, using phrases such as madman or fool . • 45. The Inspiring Education Document By Dr. Richard Moniuszko In the Inspiring Education Document , a quote from Dr. Richard Moniuszko is included in the opening lines of the report that outlines the direction that current educational practices are moving. Moniuszko states we need to prepare kids for their future not our past (as cited by Pink, 2009) which encapsulates the vision of the proposed transformation that is needed to take place in order to prepare students to be successful members of society. According to Rosefsky, in opposition to traditional educational practices, the interconnectedness of the 21st century global economy, ecosystem, and political networks require that students learn to communicate, collaborate, and problem solve with people worldwide (2012). Within the Inspiring Education document, the vision for core competencies in 21st century learning requires a shift away from traditional dissemination of information and re call of facts (Alberta Education, 2010) and instead focuses on student centered learning models of inquiry and discovery. This shift in educational practice requires students to acquire new abilities and focus on higher order thinking skills, deeper learning outcomes, and complex thinking and communication skills (Saavedra, 2012) and involves teachers creating appropriate instructional and assessment practices. Effects of Globalization on 21st Century Education Ustun defines Globalization as the unification of the world politically, economically, socially and culturally with many ... • 46. Trans-Trans Dibenzalacetone Lab Report After the crude product was collected by crystallization process, it was weighted to be 8.4756 g. it was recrystallized and collected. The weight of pure product was obtained to be 5.772 g In comparison to the theoretical yield of the experiment; it was calculated to be 65.99 % recover and 82% total yield. The melting point (MP) of the product was taken in order to identify the product. 2 trials were performed, and the results of both trials are the same, 102 105oC. The expected product of this experiment was dibenzalacetone, which has 3 different isomers: cis cis, trans trans, and cis trans, with different MPs and boiling point (BP). The true MP of Trans trans dibenzalacetone isomer is 110 110oC (ref. 3). The true MP of cis cis dibenzalacetone isomer is 60oC (ref. 3). Cis cis dibenzalacetone doesn t have MP because its appearance is oil (ref.3). In, comparison to all the isomers, the product s MP was closet to trans trans dibenzalacetone, although the product MP was lower than the true MP of trans trans dibenzalacetone. There were some possible reasons why the MP of the product was lower. The intermediate, benzalacetone with the MP of 42oC (Ref. 2), could be existed in the product resulting in lower the MP of the product. Another reason could be that the cis trans isomer of dibenzalacetone existed in the product. In order to confirm which reason is the case, infrared spectrum (IR) (see attached ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through the analysis of IR spectrum, the product was confirmed to have both cis trans isomer and trans trans isomer of dibenzalacetone in the product. Trans trans isomer was the major product, because of the Experimental MP was closer to the trans trans isomer MP, 110 111 oC, than cis trans isomer MP, 60oC. The % yield of the reaction was calculated to be 82% yield, with 65.99 % recovery from crude product. Post lab ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Conquest Of Constantinople Research Paper The conquest of Constantinople was wrongly justified and resulted with the fall of the Byzantine Empire. The Fourth Crusade began when the Crusaders went to Venice to ask for ships to sail to Egypt but was unable to afford it. In exchange for ships, the Crusaders agreed to regain the city of Zara under Hungarian rule. The Crusaders were able to claim back Zara for the Venetians but were excommunicated since they attacked a Christian city. Right before they were going to Egypt, Alexius Comnenus asked for help from the Crusaders to help him restore his power in the Byzantine Empire. In exchange for help, Alexius would provide the Crusaders, supplies, ships and necessary help for the siege of Jerusalem. In 1203, the Crusaders would band with ... In the sermon, the bishops insisted that soldiers ...confess their sins and receive the communion devoutly; and said that they ought not to hesitate to attack the Greeks, for the latter were enemies of God. 2 Although the Crusaders were excommunicated by Pope Innocent III, the bishops still had the power to claim the war was just under the name of God. When the Crusaders began sacking the city they engaged in stealing gold and silver, others precious stones... 3 This was justified since it was considered a right of conquest... 4 This wrongful justification was obviously fueled by the agreement made with Alexius to restore power for goods. Time and time again in the conquest of Constantinople, the Crusaders would wrongly justify their attacks in the name of God or righteousness. The Fourth Crusade was initiated based on greed and the idea the Crusaders could gain more for their siege of the Holy Land. The Crusaders chose to attack Zara, a Christian city to get ships against the pleasing of the Pope. The Crusaders would get the ships but then attempt to gain more by helping Alexius regain his power in the Byzantine empire. They justified their attacks on Constantinople as holy and ... • 48. The Paul Of The Apostle Paul The apostle Paul was known to many as Saul of Tarsus. There is no doubt he was born to Jewish parents whose residence was in the city of Tarsus of Cilicia. In the Book of Acts 23:6, his own admission relates that he was a Hebrew of Hebrews, but he was also a son of a Pharisee. In Phil. 3:4 5, Paul states that he was from the tribe of Benjamin. At an early age, Paul was taught in tent making according to Acts 18:3. At an early age, he was sent to Jerusalem to study under a well known teacher by the name of Gamaliel (Acts 22:3). Paul was an expert in the Jewish religion, which he followed through his family (Gal. 1:14). Once Paul graduated, he became a very zealous religious Jew. The aim of Paul s trade was to see the church persecuted. In Acts 7:58 83, readers are reminded that Paul was present when Stephen was stoned and killed. Saul carried a warrant from the High Priest so he could go against the people of the early Christian church (Acts 26:10 11). Paul might have been a Roman citizen, but he was cultured in the Greek way of doing things. This can be found in Acts 17:28. Paul knew the mindset of many Greek thoughts and sayings in his time. The conversion of Saul to Paul was a dramatic one. In one of his missions on the road to Damascus, Paul encounters the risen Jesus Christ, which changed his entire life from then on. He was never the same person that people had known before. Jesus enters into Paul s life and he decides to dedicate the rest of his life for the service ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This much needed detail is what a key to information, people need to know where information is coming from as well as the reader knowing the purpose. I think that this will make writing my paper an easier process, as I will already know ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 50. Stalinist Revolution Essay In the Soviet Union during the 1920s and 1930s a second revolution occurred within the government, economy, and culture. Under the guise of unmasking enemies, Stalin selected government and party members who would be tried as counter revolutionaries and sentenced to death or sent to Gulags that were set up all across Russia. This idea itself is a major addition to the idea that Stalin started a second revolution in the USSR . By removing anyone who stood in the way of his policies, Stalin was free to rule the way he saw fit. In essence Stalin had created a government where anything he said, went. The Purges also changed the face of the government. Offices that had long been held by a single man were now occupied by new faces. This is comparable to the personnel changes that occurred during the October Revolution. Another component of the Stalinist Revolution was the idea of Socialism in One Country. After the fall of all other socialist regimes in Europe, Stalin came to the conclusion that the Soviet Union must strengthen itself internally and must push towards communism alone until other countries were ready for the Socialist Revolution. This idea that Stalin supported so vehemently was a large contributor to Stalin s ability to further exercise his control over the nation and influence the economic policy of the Soviet Union, with such measures as the Five Year Plans and the removal of the New Economic Policy . During the Tsarist Reign the citizens underwent a conditioning that has become known as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 51. Government in Upper and Lower Canada The need for government reform in Upper and Lower Canada was created because of the incompetent way the government managed the country, a lack of representation in the government, a lack of understanding of the colonist s in Upper and Lower Canada, and discrimination towards the French in Lower Canada. Numerous colonists arrived to Upper and Lower Canada to begin a new life with a proper government however, the government in Canada did not satisfy their needs. Firstly, the unskilled way the government ran Upper and Lower Canada upset the colonists. This included a lack of land for the colonists, even though they were promised land when they arrived in British North America. Settlers were unhappy about land distribution particularly about the clergy and crown reserves and the land speculators that were part of the Family Compact. Also, absentee landlords overpriced and tied up prime land. The settlers were also unhappy that the building of roadways was hindered by the clergy and crown reserves. The colonists were unhappy with the government and the colonists complained loudly about land and roads. Most knew that the Family Compact was to blame and they did not disguise their anger (Pg. 66). This meant that the colonists were aware that the Family Compact was responsible for this problem because they completely ignored the colonist s complaints and they did not do anything to help them. They could veto any laws passed by the Assembly and they did; they shut down ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
