Developing a mobile cross-platform libraryKostis Dadamis
Here, I am including the experience I had while exploring solutions for developing a mobile cross-platform library, i.e. a single codebase that could be part of mobile apps running under different platforms. It covers my journey from mobile cross-platform developments tools (PhoneGap, Titanium, and the likes), code porting tools, and WebViews that weren't up to the task, to C++ and JavaScript engines that did work. There aren't many resources out there explaining how to approach this problem, so we thought it could be helpful if we shared this experience.

Hyperloop is not only a super cool high speed tube drive train by Elon Musk. It’s also a new exciting compiler from Appcelerator. Appcelerator is known for their cross-platform product Titanium. Hyperloop lets you write your apps in JavaScript and compiles it into optimized native code, you can even call native SDKs on the supported platforms (Android, iOS, Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8). This makes it conceptually close to Xamarin but the additional benefit of having Titanium’s cross-platform API on top of it so you can write cross-platform UI code. The compiler is part of Ti.Next the complete re-envisioning of the Titanium platform. But you can already start playing with this new cool technology as Hyperloop is open sourced on github. Com and hear more about it and see it in action!

Swagger: Restful documentation that won't put you to sleepTobias Coetzee
RESTful services are becoming more prevalent in the systems we build and interact with. One of the problems with RESTful services is documentation. The documentation is either non-existent, out-dated and useless or done in Word completed separate from the actual code. Keeping the documentation up to date is also boring.
Swagger.io gives you a way to overcome your RESTful service documentation problems by making your RESTful service’s documentation part of the code. Swagger.io gives you interactive documentation, i.e. no more boring Word documents, and the added bonuses of client SDK generation and discoverability.

Manage your external libraries with CocoaPodsJuan C Catalan
Let's say you need to build an app and you face the following design problem: you need a picture editor, a piece of code that allows the user of your awesome app to select a picture from the photo library, rotate it, re-size it, apply some image filters and crop the result.
You have two options, come up with your own code or use somebody else's code. But how do you find a library that performs what you want? How do you keep this library updated once the developers release a new version? What if that library uses other libraries and you need to install these dependencies too?
Well, CocoaPods let's you do all these tasks and it is very easy to use.
CocoaPods is a dependency manager for Swift and Objective-C Cocoa projects. It has over 28 thousand libraries and is used in over 1.7 million apps. CocoaPods can help you scale your projects elegantly.
In this practical session I will explain how to use CocoaPods to help you build your apps. We will learn how to manage the external libraries, go over the best practices, dos and don'ts, and explore other alternatives to manage your app external dependencies.
Frontend development skills are more and more demanded from our clients and stakeholders. Thanks to Facebook, they know what a dynamic UI is and they want it too in their products.
It can be a scary situation for people working mostly on a backend side of web applications. In this presentation I want to show that JavaScript can be really fun to write and mature enough to cope with backend technologies.

The world of open source libraries and tools is vast for Android developers. Writing apps using solely Android SDK is impractical. Libraries can help you in many ways. They can speed up your development, save you creating boilerplate code and dealing with platform fragmentation, simplify your code and make it more readable and maintainable. In the talk I’m showing how several truly useful libraries can help a developer.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

We’ll not only delve into the technical aspects of AI-powered XML development but also discuss practical implications and possible future directions.
zkStudyClub - Reef: Fast Succinct Non-Interactive Zero-Knowledge Regex ProofsAlex Pruden
This paper presents Reef, a system for generating publicly verifiable succinct non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs that a committed document matches or does not match a regular expression. We describe applications such as proving the strength of passwords, the provenance of email despite redactions, the validity of oblivious DNS queries, and the existence of mutations in DNA. Reef supports the Perl Compatible Regular Expression syntax, including wildcards, alternation, ranges, capture groups, Kleene star, negations, and lookarounds. Reef introduces a new type of automata, Skipping Alternating Finite Automata (SAFA), that skips irrelevant parts of a document when producing proofs without undermining soundness, and instantiates SAFA with a lookup argument. Our experimental evaluation confirms that Reef can generate proofs for documents with 32M characters; the proofs are small and cheap to verify (under a second).
