Richard Muhlfeld s His Quintet For Clarinet, 2 Violins,...
In his Quintet for Clarinet, 2 Violins, Viola, and Cello Op. 115, Brahms creates an important and
influential work in the chamber music repertoire. By writing his Quintet for the specific clarinetist
Richard Mühlfeld s artistic brilliance, and by taking musical liberties with conventional forms and
expectations, Brahms crafts the intimacy and seriousness one has come to expect from chamber
music. Towards the end of his life, Brahms had intended on retiring from composing. Around 1891,
the Meiningen orchestra, with whom Richard Mühlfeld held his career with, frequently featured
Brahms s music at well known festivals in the area. Previous to meeting Mühlfeld, Brahms had no
interest in centering his writing onto the clarinet. He felt the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The Joachim Quartet concerts were known for being a major series performing strictly string chamber
music. Brahms had convinced Joachim with his manuscripts that the work was worthy of the sacrifice
of adding clarinet and piano to the series. The highly regarded reputation of the Joachim concerts
certainly allowed for the seriousness of the Quintet to be featured, for all of the cleaver composition
techniques Brahms employed were certainly appreciated by the intellectual audiences the Quartet
frequently attracted. The Quintet follows the general guidelines for form that audiences of the time
have come to expect from serious string chamber music pieces. The first movement acts as a Sonata
form with some unexpected variation, the second as a three part song form. The third and fourth
movements begin to some unconventional practices. In the third, instead of a scherzo movement in 3/4
time, we get a sonata allegro in 4/4 and 2/4 time. In the fourth, the audience gets a theme and
variations, but the tempo is considerably slower than what one would normally expect from a
concluding movement. In 1891, the only memorable clarinet quintet was composed by Mozart. If one
were to come into a performance of the Brahms Quintet with Mozart s Quintet in mind, they would
expect the clarinet to take the most important role, with the strings accompanying more often than not.
This is certainly not the case in Brahms s work, as the

A Report On The Neighborhood Family Clinic
This paper will discuss the Neighborhood Family Clinic in the Madison which is a free standing
facility that the facility planning committee has decided to renovate to accommodate the growing
community that the facility current serves. The facility planning committee has provided
considerations that have regulatory requirements that could have an effect on the design and
equipment that will be placed in the renovated facility. These regulatory requirements may require the
design of the facility to change based on exam room size, location and placement of certain
equipment.
Regulatory requirements and their effect on design and equipment
The regulatory requirements and their effect on design and equipment in the renovation of the
Neighborhood Family Clinic are the environmental regulations on both the federal and state levels
regarding the renovation, expansion, equipment, design, and operation of the facility
(www.eesolutions.net, n. d.). Per the Facility Guidelines and The American Institute of Architects
Academy of Architecture for Health the Guidelines for Design and Construction of Health Care
Facilities are updated every four years. Subsequently, once the decision to renovate or start new
construction is reached the building committee must be aware that these guidelines set the minimum
standards for American health care facility designs and give design and health care professionals
guidance on emerging trends and good practices (www.eesolutions.net, n. d.). When

The Theory Of Personality Theories
The personality theories available, as a collective whole, allow for the complete analysis of the
developing personality of an individual. The emphasis of this specific paper focuses on the
development of the author, Bryan Barker s personality. The theories that will be discussed in the
relation to the development of personality are the Big Five trait theory, with emphasis on neuroticism,
a phenomenological approach, and finally the learning and cognitive approaches. A synthesis of the
approaches on past and predicted behavior and events will help to create a comprehensive
documentation of the personality of today. To allow of the analysis of personality, a description of the
important decisions myself, the author, experienced or large family events that as a result had a
potential impact on personality development, will be discussed followed by multiple theory analysis
of that event. The first and most important aspect to know is the frequency in which my family
moved, roughly once every four years until I graduated eight grade. The moves were not across towns
but to different states; Michigan, Indiana, North Carolina, New Jersey, and have since settled in
California for ten years. This cannot be called a trauma, although the move from North Carolina to
New Jersey was exceedingly difficult to handle. The loss of best friends at the age of six, then required
to make new friends in a relatively short amount of time, was stressful, and reflecting back, a task full

Epidemiology Of Obesity
Obesity is a leading preventable cause of death worldwide and its prevalence is increasing at an
alarming rate (Barness et al, 2007). For thousands of years obesity was rarely seen, it was not until the
20th century that it became common, some much so that in 1997, the World Health Organization
(WHO) formally recognized obesity as a global epidemic (Caballero, 2007).
Overweight and obesity now affects at least 1.7 billion people. With the largest proportion in
developing countries: In 2010, almost 2 billion people of the world s population are overweight (BMI
between 25 and 29.9 kg/m2) and more than half a billion are obese (BMI 30 kg/m2). Using standard
international criteria by 2015, the figure will be nearer 2.3 billion overweight and ... Show more

The increased prevalence of obesity among high income groups in nonindusrialized countries may
have changed as non indusrialized countries become more affluent and obesity becomes more
prevalent in individuals who have low socioeconomic status (Monteiro et al., 2004).
Egypt studied the prevelance of obesity and overweight among their populations and results were
annoying. Salem et al. (2002) found that the prevalence of obesity among Egyptian children was
14.7% and 15.08% for male and female respectively.
In United States of America (USA), the prevalence of obesity was 10% among children 2 to 5 years of
age and 15% among adolescents. When children at risk for obesity (overweight) were included, the
values increased to 20% and 30%, respectively. Therefore, 1 of every 4 patients examined by
pediatricians either is obese or is considered to be at high risk for developing this challenging health
problem (Ogden et al.,

Paying NCAAAthletes Essay
Outline
Purpose: The purpose of this speech is to inform my audience about the issue of potentially paying
college athletes so that they may make an informed decision themselves.
Thesis: As the popularity, and revenue continues to grow in college sports, the debate will be taken to
new heights about whether or not college athletes are being exploited, and if they should be
compensated monetarily.
I. (C)The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) defines amateurism as, The conviction
that people should participate in sports as a hobby (for the fun of it) rather than for money. The NCAA
mandates that all college athletes maintain this level of amateurism while in college, however, college
sports have never been more of a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
b. Throw in all of the gear associated with being a Division I college athlete and you re looking at a
hefty amount of cash being invested in each athlete.
C. Obviously some colleges have higher budgets and higher amounts of athletes than others, so how
do you make sure you pay each athlete equally while still staying above the budget? You can t.
1. Trying to pay a football team alone could plunge a university underneath their budget with an
average of nearly 100 players per team.
2. On top of that, there are 28 more sports with athletes waiting to have their pockets filled with cash.
3. And finally, it takes away funding for other important academic areas of the college.
Transition: The budget just simply isn t there for a university of any size to reasonably pay each and
every athlete so finally I will explain some different ways an NCAA athlete could possibly make some
money.
IV. There are plenty of ways an athlete could make money, but it would require some self marketing
and a little help from the NCAA.
A. A player could seek out additional sponsorships and advertising deals like a professional athlete.
1.The athlete isn t technically making money off their playing ability they re making the money from
the name on the back of their jersey.
B. Opposers of this idea would say that equality plays a factor here as well.

A Brief Note On Industrial Products And Safety
Industrial Products and Safety When you are on the job, there is nothing of greater importance than
your safety and that of your crew. Safety becomes even more critical when the dangers of height,
machinery, chemicals, and power tools are added into the equation. Further, there are times when the
job site is in a public location, adding a plethora of safety hazards into the mix. Ensure you are fully
equipped with highly visible alerts and warning signs, devices, and barriers. The better a work site is
controlled, the safer it is for all involved, and don t forget about the elements. Whether it s the sun,
rain or freezing snow and ice, mother nature can turn an average day on the site into a major work
hazard. The proper safety equipment not only reduces the number of workplace accidents and injuries,
but it is required by state and federal employee safety laws and regulations issued by OSHA, ANSI,
and the FDA. From eyes and ears and from head to foot, quality protective and safety equipment is
one area that can never be overlooked in your quest to protect your employees, reduce insurance
premiums, eliminate lawsuits, and keep a happy, healthy crew operational. With over 40 years of
experience in the construction/industrial tool and supply industry, Fasttoolnow, has considered all of
the variables when it comes to complying with legal requirements, durability, and the comfort and

As the definition states a feminist is someone who strives for equality, not superiority, and is not just

are prejudice against men, like misogynist are prejudice to women. As feminist we we be completely
hypocritical to hate men, because we are working towards equality. We have to fight to stop both the
misogynist and the misandrists. Because of these untrue stereotypes a lot of women are unaware that

Afghanistan, an International Political Problem
Afghanistan: International Political Problem Afghanistan: International Political Problem Introduction
Afghanistan for years now has turned into be the talk of the century. In that nation there has been a
battle ground of altering associations, betrayal, and participation of foreign rudiments at the
expenditure of the political, financial and social tragedy of the zone. Thoughts for instance the

Taliban governmental monopoly in the neighborhood? With that said, this paper will support the
theory that suggests defeating a terror group with force, and using economic incentives to turn the
populace against them, thus removing their base of support. Theoretical Approach Whether or not
states should utilize force to go against terrorists that are based in another country is huge discussion.

The United States Army And Selective Service Essay
The most hardworking people are usually the least recognized. They are generally the least paid as
well. There must be some sort of incentive for them to continually work so hard. The United States
Army has been the underdogs of the military branch. The United States Army is probably the hardest
working branch of the military, but also the least sought after. To the general public they are not
considered to be at the top of the spectrum amongst the other branches of military. The government
has helped in creating a bias within the branches of military by making the standards to get into the
military so low compared to some of the other branches. The Army should be considered the People s
Army. There is a pivotal point in life where as a man must enroll in the selective service. That is a
really scary point in life because it seems like there is a chance to be selected in the military by draft.
There is also entrance in the military by choice. There is a percentage of Americans that willingly
enter into the military coming straight out of high school. Those Americans that willingly want to join
the military are required to take a test called the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery or
ASVAB as it is most commonly called. That test acts as an entrance exam to every branch of the
military, as well as what jobs you qualify for once you pick a branch. The every year Americans shoot

Information System Briefing
Information System Briefing
Understanding how goals of an organization and the roles of its stakeholders affect the selection
process of an information system is vital to the success of that project. To ensure the execution of this
task as well as its organization, efficiency, and accuracy, key leaders join creating a team of
professionals ready for implementing change (Wager, Wickham Lee, Glaser, 2009) . Learning how to
select and acquire an information system, goals that should drive it and the roles of stakeholders is
imperative to keep the project from failing.

The charge guides the group in tasks that include screening the marketplace and vendor profiles that
ensure the consideration of all options, including what determines system goals, and prioritizes, and

Additionally, the stakeholders combine all established system requirements into a package to for
viewing by third party assemblies, which creates a request for proposal (RFP) or a request for
information (RFI). Vendors view these to determine if their product meets the needs of the
organization (Wager, Wickham Lee, Glaser, 2009) .
Conclusion.
Each aspect must hold its importance so stakeholders can effectively select and acquire a new system.
It takes a strong leader to guide the best of each department in selecting an information system to
share the organization. Goals should arise from analyzing previous system errors so that they
strategically improve those errors. Clearly communicating, developing, implementing, and
maintaining goals and outcomes during the strategic change of an information system are vital to say
the least.

The Audit And Compensation Committees Essay
This paper contributes to the auditing literature by investigating empirically auditors responses to
overlapping membership on audit and compensation committees (overlapping committees) and the
equity holdings by overlapping audit committee members. Boards of directors are at the helm of
corporate governance and work through sub committees (Adams, Hermalin, Weisbach, 2010;
Hermalin Weisbach, 1998; Hermalin Weisbach, 2003). Delegating different board functions to distinct
committees represents a separation of tasks and functions, and has been strongly recommended as a
suitable mechanism for improving corporate governance (Kesner, 1988; Spira Bender, 2004). Two
important sub committees found in modern organisations are the audit and compensation committees.
The audit committee is a subcommittee of the board of directors with delegated authority to oversee
the auditing and financial reporting related matters of the firm. The compensation committee, on the
other hand, is entrusted with responsibility for setting managerial pay, including an optimal amount of
performance based incentive pay. The question of whether overlapping membership, where at least
one audit committee member is also on the compensation committee, is desirable from a governance
perspective has received increasing attention from professionals and researchers (Chandar, Chang,
Zheng, 2012; Habib Bhuiyan, 2014; KPMG, 2008; Liao Hsu, 2013). The rationale for overlapping
membership is based on the

Guantanamo Bay Is Not Cool
Guantanamo Bay is Not Cool
America is better off if Guantanamo Bay was shut down.
The Politics of Guantánamo. The Economist. The Economist Newspaper, 18 Oct. 2014. Web.
Nov. 2015.1 President Obama called for Guantanamo Bay to be shut down back in 2009. It is now
2015 and Guantanamo Bay is still open and still holding many types of prisoners. Guantanamo Bay
mainly holds suspected terrorists, but also holds other types of prisoners. Prisoners being held captive
have been imprisoned and have yet to have a trial. In other words, some are just being held captive
under suspicion. Would America be better off if Guantanamo Bay was closed and those who have
been imprisoned either transferred to another prison or essentially freed?
Guantanamo Bay opened for its main purpose in late 2001 shortly after the United States went to
Afghanistan after the September 11 attacks2. Since 2001, Guantanamo Bay has held around 800
people. 2002 was when the first suspected terrorist was imprisoned and since then the numbers have
been slowly decreasing. Slowly prisoners have been found innocent or have had lack of evidence to
prove that they are guilty, but are still being held captive.3 There are a few reasons as to why those
who have been cleared to be transferred or released but have not been.
One reason is that those who have been in Guantanamo Bay for years have no place to go. They have
been held captive for so long that their home country do not want them back. Another reason is if their

How Did Peter The Great Rule Russia
Peter the Great who was born to, Tsar Alexis and his second wife Natalya Naryshkina, on June 9,
1672, was the Tsar of Russia. Peter, along with his half brother Ivan, were to rule Russia from 1682 to
their death. Due to Ivans feeblemind and Peter s young age, Ivan s older sister Sophia, took charge of
the throne as regent.
Before ascending as Tsar of Russia, in early 1989 Peter was married to Eudoxia. Their marriage was to
demonstrate that Peter was now a man and had the right to rule Russia himself not his regent Sophia.
Peter and Eudoxia had one son Tsarevich Alexei, but in 1698 Peter sent his wife to a convent where
she was forced to become a nun, while his son was sentenced to death due to traitorous actions against
his own father.
After a failed coup of power from Sophia in 1689, by using the revolt of an armed force(streltsy)
backfired, Peter took back by force his rightful title. Peter alongside his brother ruled from 1689 to
1696, but after Ivans death, Peter ruled by himself from 1696 to 1725. Although Peter s rule of Russia

Design Theory And The General Systems Theory
Introduction
The uses of conceptual models are essential to help guide the nursing process. There are many
different types of conceptual models and among these models there is the Roy Adaption model that
was created by Sister Callista Roy. According to McEwen, like many models/theories in this unit, it is
a deductive theory based on nursing practice (p. 177, 2014). Throughout this paper, we will be
explaining, discussing and analyzing this specific model by the use of a clinical situation.
Presentation of the conceptual model The Roy adaption model was influenced by Helson s Adaption
Theory and the General Systems Theory, which was developed by Ludwig von Bertalanffy in 1968
(Pepin, Kerouac Ducharme, 2010). Each and every theory has a basic philosophy as to where it stems
from and the Roy model stems from the concepts of humanism and veritivity. The principle of
humanism describes that every individual s human experiences affects their knowledge and values in
the world. The principal of veritivity was created by Roy and is defined as, a principal of human
nature that affirms a common purposefulness of human existence (Roy Andrews, 2008, p. 27).
Roy has four basic components of adaption. The first component is physiological and as for the other
three, they are considered psychosocial. Each component can be evaluated as being either adaptive,
which is considered positive, or ineffective, which is considered negative (Roy Andrews, 2008). To
decide whether a

One day early into my internship with Eagle Village the counselor Misty and I was discussing

residents in the sensory room must be with staff. In addition, not all the staff has the key to the sensory

The Challenges Of A Discourse Community
Discourse communities have existed and been discussed for many years. To become a member of a
discourse community one must be a part of something that many people can relate to, experience is a
key part of this. At the start of my freshman year I was subjected to change; my life was moved from
one location to another, and I was therefore forced to change schools. This changeover had a
significant effect on my life moving forward. I had to learn to adjust in a new place, and adapt my

the first time in my life where I was faced with meeting new people, and practically starting over, isn t
the unknown the scariest of all?. However, I was never alone in my struggle. Millions of people
throughout the world have been put into the same situation as myself, sometimes even more than
once. I am part of a discourse community consisting of students who have moved schools and been

The Scriptural Flood Myth
The Scriptural creation account describes God s creation as a place where His presence resides and
that created humans as the crown of His creation for relationship with Him. Humans are made in the
image of God, which includes the personal nature of God and a capacity for relationship with Him.
Humanity was chosen by God to be the mediator of His divine presence and power, to bear His image.
Elaborated by Alexander and Baker, humans are not an afterthought created to provide for the needs
of the gods, as in the Babylonian story of origins, nor are we slaves of the gods as in some of the
Egyptian stories. Yet through sin and disobedience, we see a perverted image of God which ruptures
their relationship with YHWH. This rebellion leads to a perverse ... Show more content on

In the covenantal promise at Sinai, He makes this clear. The first commandment in the Decalogue
states that you shall have no other gods before me (Ex. 20:3) which establishes that God works alone
and is not part of a pantheon. He is not one god among many, but the one True God. As well, when
God reveals His name, YHWH, to His people and establishes the Law, the Old Testament format for
the covenant is very similar to the Hittite treaties and Assyrian treaties from the Late Bronze Age. This
reflects the character of God to reveal His law and the covenant relationship in a language and custom
that His chosen people are familiar with. He is a thoughtful and compassionate God who
communicates in a way that His people will understand. Though treaties were common in this time, no
deity had ever entered into a treaty with humans which further reveals His unique covenant
relationship with His people. As well, the treaties typically expressed a suzerain and vassal type
relationship, and it is possible that YHWH is even further establishing His royal rule and relationships
with His people as their faithful King. Through the formation of Israel as God s chosen people
depicted in the covenant at Sinai, His care and promises are evidenced through a royal inscription by
an Egyptian pharaoh on the Merneptah Stele (ca. 1209) which mentions that Israel was established as

The Kashiwazaki Kariwa Nuclear Power Plant was completely shut down for 21 months following an
earthquake in 2007. The 2011 earthquake and tsunami caused the failure of cooling systems at the
Fukushima I Nuclear Power Plant on March 11 and a nuclear emergency was declared. This was the
first time a nuclear emergency had been declared in Japan, and 140,000 residents within 20 km of the
plant were evacuated. The total amount of radioactive material released is unclear, as the crisis is on
going. On 6 May 2011, Prime Minister ordered the Hamaoka Nuclear Power Plant be shut down, as an
earthquake of magnitude 8.0 or higher is likely to hit the area within the next 30 years.
Fishing and Whaling, the third environmental issue, is about the food the fish way too much, and there

products are more prominent than other types of meat. Because of the depletion of ocean stocks in the
late 20th century, Japan s total annual fish catch has been diminishing rapidly. Japan, along with the
United States and the European Union, occupies the large part of international fish trade. Japanese fish

Navy Seal Personal Narrative
July 13th 2015, I began a journey that changed entirety of myself for the better. I woke up that
morning in the hotel room I was assigned; I d been waiting and training for an entire year in
anticipation of that day. I was finally on my way to Great Lakes, Illinois to attend Naval Bootcamp
under contract to attend Basic Underwater Demolition/Seal Class 317 afterwards. I was was only 19
but it felt as if I was coming straight out of high school. I d never lived anywhere else other than with
my mother in North Georgia, so leaving the state and starting a new life was a little odd. I remember
July 12th when I got in the recruiting recruiting station s van to take me to the hotel. I was trying so

The truth is, none of that matters. A Navy Seal is someone that does what they know needs to be done

Frederick Douglass Essays
The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave is an account of Frederick
Douglass life written in a very detached and objective tone. You might find this tone normal for a
historical account of the events of someone s life if not for the fact that the narrative was written by
Frederick Douglass himself. In light of the fact that Douglass wrote his autobiography as a treatise in
support of the abolishment of slavery, the removed tone was an effective tone. It gave force to his
argument that slavery should be done away with.
Considering the fact that this was written during the height of the abolition movement the novel had to
be effective in order to advance the success of the movement. ... Show more content on

Here Douglass shows that slavery was not a constant source of pain and suffering: I was not old
enough to work in the fields, and there being little else than field work to do, I had a great deal of
leisure time, (Douglass 71.) This is effective in proving his point because it allows him to show the
true horrors of slavery and not be lopsided in his views.
Weber 2
Having an objective also paved the way for Douglass to show the most gruesome and torrid tales of
slave life. Here is where the autobiographical form of the exposition comes in hand, enabling him to
go into the closest of detail of his own experiences as a slave: I had been at my new home but one
week before Mr. Covey gave me a very severe whipping, cutting my back, causing the blood to run,
and raising ridges on my flesh as large as my little finger, (Douglass 101.) Notice how all he does is
detail the incident. He doesn t speak of how this made him feel or what he wanted to do in response.
This neutrality removes him from the picture and lets the sequence of events speak as loudly as they
do for themselves.
Granted the tone changes throughout the book but the overwhelming and most effective tone was that
of objectivity. Showing both sides gives him the opportunity to say that his work was not partial to
abolishment. The in depth description of the whipping was compelling while the notation of a fair
amount of leisure time as

Similarities And Differences Between The Lion The Witch...
As any good book that has been made into a movie, there are several differences between C.S. Lewis
The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe book and the movie. Some of the parts of the story discussed
will show some of the differences between the book and the movie and how this relates to Christianity.
In my opinion, I prefer the book over the movie as I think it better represents how the story relates to
Christianity, but I also enjoy the movie as it gives a visual representation of following Christ through
difficult times.
During one part of the story, the Pevensie children are at the Beavers house when the youngest boy
leaves to go to the White Witch. There are a few differences between the two when it comes to
Edmund at the castle. Before Edmund knew who the Witch really was, she tempted him and told him
she would give him great things for a price, and it seemed impossible to pass up. She told him he
would become a prince and she would give him as much candy as he wanted. In the movie, it shows
that Edmund abandoned his family and traveled to the White Witch s Castle and when Edmund arrives
at the castle, after a little while he is chained up next to the Lucy s friend, the faun, Mr. Tumnus. Then
he is offered stale bread and water, which was frozen into ice. He gives Tumnus his bread, and
afterwards Tumnus is taken to be turned into stone. In the book, when Edmund arrives at the castle, he
walks through the castle to meet the White Witch and only sees a faun in a cell,

Contributions Of Industrialization
Industrialization was a time period where the process of manufacturing goods became easier because
of technological innovations. The changes during the Industrial Revolution contributed to the rise of
big business because industries wanted to expand their efforts. Industrialization assisted
manufacturing industries by making production more mechanized and efficient. Technological
innovations due to industrialization caused a rise of factories and employment opportunities in
America. The benefits of industrialization did not come easy; sacrifices were made which resulted in
unfair conditions for laborers. The rise of big business led to calls for the reform of industry because
monopolies were overthrowing other companies, which is unfair for these companies. Industrialization
led to the rise of big business, however it resulted in injustice.
As companies continued to gain high profits from their industrial endeavors, they wanted to grow
bigger and bigger. When companies realized that they were in control of all parts of their business they
could make the most profit; this is known as horizontal and vertical integration. John D. Rockefeller,
co founder of the Standard Oil Company, pursued a strategy that came to be known as horizontal
integration, in which a dominant corporation buys or forces out most of its competitors (Shi and
Tindall 632). Instead of depending upon the products or services of other firms, known as middlemen,
the company owns everything it needs in

Bottled Water Vs Tap Water
In the United States, Americans consume over 8.6 billion gallons of water annually (HRF, 2014). That
is only one country; imagine what number it would get if the other countries are included. Anywhere
we go we carry of use bottled water. I can bet that you have bottled water on your hand or somewhere
near you. Humans became reliable to the expensive water on the bottle; the bottle that increased
pollution and health risk to the Earth. Using and drinking bottled water is worse than using the old tap
water. How much is one bottled water right? How about 24 case of bottled water? Expensive! Bottled
water cost this much because of the extra labor and processing the water inside goes through. The
factories where bottled water is PROCESSED are using almost the same amount of energy as any
factory that process food. In a technical term, bottled waters are considered as processed food. U.S.

The peripheral motor division and the central nervous system are involved in voluntary movement.
The motor division of the peripheral nervous system that allows us to move our body, the somatic
nervous system is the division of the motor division that enables voluntary movement. The somatic
nervous system conducts voluntary movements by distributing impulses to skeletal muscle from the
central nervous system, allowing the conscious control of skeletal muscle through somatic motor
pathways. The information required to control skeletal muscle is generated in the brain by the primary
motor cortex, but the specific origin is dependent on the location of the skeletal muscle, the pathway
used is efferent and involves two motor neurons; the upper motor neuron exits the brain and is
projected down the spinal cord in the descending white matter tract, then the cell body of the lower
motor neuron and the axon synapse. The lower motor neuron transmits the information to the skeletal
muscle from the spinal cord; the axon exits the ventral root and terminates at the effector. The primary
motor cortex contains the cell bodies of the upper motor neuron, while the motor nuclei of the ventral

The last quality of a scout is usually the hardest to come by as one might guess because of being on
the road for so long. It is tough to keep a family in this job because of time commitments, and the
starting pay can be quite low. Scouts usually report to the director of scouting, and then the director
reports to upper management such as the general manager, assistant general manager, vice president of

heavily involved with coaches within the organization. The information gathered will help teams in

price, but it helps them prepare for games against opposing teams. These three parts are vital when it

The Development And Analysis Of Microsatellite Dna Essay

THE DEVELOPMENT AND ANALYSIS OF MICROSATELLITE DNA
Summary
Due to the significant negative impact of the industrial activities on the habitat, many species have
become endangered. To conserve the species, a thorough investigation is needed. In this case, the
research is based on the study the interdependencies between the genotype and spatial dispersal of
populations.
Despite being endangered, turtles comprise rather specific object for such investigations, as well as
any other long lived organisms, because their reproduction cycles complicate the genetic
investigations using conventional methods. That is why the novel DNA markers, microsatellites, were
chosen for this research.
Although the microsatellites are very informative and universal, the overall cost for research is higher
than for RAPD and AFLP. This is mostly due to the cost of the fluorescent dye which is used in the
PCR. To eliminate this, I will apply an interesting technique which allows for incorporation of the dye
by the forward primer into the product of polymerization thus saving a considerable amount of the
dye.
Generally, I plan to base research on such steps:
Studying the populations of Apalone spinifera and Apalone mutica based on available data;
Taking samples of blood from the animals which are going to be caught by hand in their usual habitat.
The sampling will occur in the least possible harmful way;
Testing 12 pairs of primers initially developed for Apalone spinifera using the

Summary Of Celia Behind Me
Isabel Huggan s Celia Behind Me is a short story about bullying. It depicts a young Elizabeth who
finds solace and is accepted by her peers because she takes part in intimidating her schoolmate Celia.
Unlike them, she goes too far, physically assaults the girl and, unknowingly, digs a hole into a world
of suffering and despair. Using various repeating motifs and a similar characterization of the two
characters, Huggan demonstrates that those who purposefully do wrong to others will eventually also
suffer themselves. To start off, various motifs represent the similar fates of the bully as well as the
victim. In fact, a motif of watermelons, which represent heads, is present throughout the story.

A Brief Note On The World Of Greece And Iceland
Bucket List:
What on My Bucket List Most people live busy all the time by doing something in their lives. So,
what do they live for? Indeed, are we living in a dream? Most people would be answer No. Therefore,
we truly need to live the way we really want to do before we die. Thus, I realize, I should do that what
I want to do in my life. For this reason, I made a bucket list with three categories: personal, academic,
and professional. The first thing on my personal bucket list is to travel to Europe, but above all, I want
to go to Greece and Iceland. One day, I watched a Korean reality travel program Youth over Flowers,
which showed young people backpacking with little money. Therefore, I thought that was how youth
should be. Since then, I have been wanting to go to Greece and Iceland by myself. If I could go there,
I would like to go to Santorini Island in Greece, which is the most beautiful place I have seen on TV,
and it looks peaceful with a blue ocean. Salome M. Krell and David Farrell describe Santorini as an
unforgettable beauty when they say, I . . . have fallen in love with this spellbinding place (3). For this
reason, I would like to go Santorini, and I would like to drink wine on the terrace overlooking the sea;
I will feel relaxed and free. Then, I would like to visit Iceland. Iceland is one of the best places to view

  • 2. Richard Muhlfeld s His Quintet For Clarinet, 2 Violins,... In his Quintet for Clarinet, 2 Violins, Viola, and Cello Op. 115, Brahms creates an important and influential work in the chamber music repertoire. By writing his Quintet for the specific clarinetist Richard Mühlfeld s artistic brilliance, and by taking musical liberties with conventional forms and expectations, Brahms crafts the intimacy and seriousness one has come to expect from chamber music. Towards the end of his life, Brahms had intended on retiring from composing. Around 1891, the Meiningen orchestra, with whom Richard Mühlfeld held his career with, frequently featured Brahms s music at well known festivals in the area. Previous to meeting Mühlfeld, Brahms had no interest in centering his writing onto the clarinet. He felt the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Joachim Quartet concerts were known for being a major series performing strictly string chamber music. Brahms had convinced Joachim with his manuscripts that the work was worthy of the sacrifice of adding clarinet and piano to the series. The highly regarded reputation of the Joachim concerts certainly allowed for the seriousness of the Quintet to be featured, for all of the cleaver composition techniques Brahms employed were certainly appreciated by the intellectual audiences the Quartet frequently attracted. The Quintet follows the general guidelines for form that audiences of the time have come to expect from serious string chamber music pieces. The first movement acts as a Sonata form with some unexpected variation, the second as a three part song form. The third and fourth movements begin to some unconventional practices. In the third, instead of a scherzo movement in 3/4 time, we get a sonata allegro in 4/4 and 2/4 time. In the fourth, the audience gets a theme and variations, but the tempo is considerably slower than what one would normally expect from a concluding movement. In 1891, the only memorable clarinet quintet was composed by Mozart. If one were to come into a performance of the Brahms Quintet with Mozart s Quintet in mind, they would expect the clarinet to take the most important role, with the strings accompanying more often than not. This is certainly not the case in Brahms s work, as the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The emphasis of this specific paper focuses on the development of the author, Bryan Barker s personality. The theories that will be discussed in the relation to the development of personality are the Big Five trait theory, with emphasis on neuroticism, a phenomenological approach, and finally the learning and cognitive approaches. To allow of the analysis of personality, a description of the important decisions myself, the author, experienced or large family events that as a result had a potential impact on personality development, will be discussed followed by multiple theory analysis of that event. The first and most important aspect to know is the frequency in which my family moved, roughly once every four years until I graduated eight grade. The moves were not across towns but to different states; Michigan, Indiana, North Carolina, New Jersey, and have since settled in California for ten years. This cannot be called a trauma, although the move from North Carolina to New Jersey was exceedingly difficult to handle. The loss of best friends at the age of six, then required to make new friends in a relatively short amount of time, was stressful, and reflecting back, a task full of ... There must be some sort of incentive for them to continually work so hard. The United States Army has been the underdogs of the military branch. The United States Army is probably the hardest working branch of the military, but also the least sought after. To the general public they are not considered to be at the top of the spectrum amongst the other branches of military. The government has helped in creating a bias within the branches of military by making the standards to get into the military so low compared to some of the other branches. The Army should be considered the People s Army. There is a pivotal point in life where as a man must enroll in the selective service. That is a really scary point in life because it seems like there is a chance to be selected in the military by draft. There is also entrance in the military by choice. There is a percentage of Americans that willingly enter into the military coming straight out of high school. • 14. The Audit And Compensation Committees Essay This paper contributes to the auditing literature by investigating empirically auditors responses to overlapping membership on audit and compensation committees (overlapping committees) and the equity holdings by overlapping audit committee members. Boards of directors are at the helm of corporate governance and work through sub committees (Adams, Hermalin, Weisbach, 2010; Hermalin Weisbach, 1998; Hermalin Weisbach, 2003). Delegating different board functions to distinct committees represents a separation of tasks and functions, and has been strongly recommended as a suitable mechanism for improving corporate governance (Kesner, 1988; Spira Bender, 2004). Two important sub committees found in modern organisations are the audit and compensation committees. The audit committee is a subcommittee of the board of directors with delegated authority to oversee the auditing and financial reporting related matters of the firm. The compensation committee, on the other hand, is entrusted with responsibility for setting managerial pay, including an optimal amount of performance based incentive pay. The question of whether overlapping membership, where at least one audit committee member is also on the compensation committee, is desirable from a governance perspective has received increasing attention from professionals and researchers (Chandar, Chang, Zheng, 2012; Habib Bhuiyan, 2014; KPMG, 2008; Liao Hsu, 2013). In other words, some are just being held captive under suspicion. Would America be better off if Guantanamo Bay was closed and those who have been imprisoned either transferred to another prison or essentially freed? Guantanamo Bay opened for its main purpose in late 2001 shortly after the United States went to Afghanistan after the September 11 attacks2. Since 2001, Guantanamo Bay has held around 800 people. 2002 was when the first suspected terrorist was imprisoned and since then the numbers have been slowly decreasing. Slowly prisoners have been found innocent or have had lack of evidence to prove that they are guilty, but are still being held captive.3 There are a few reasons as to why those who have been cleared to be transferred or released but have not been. One reason is that those who have been in Guantanamo Bay for years have no place to go. They have been held captive for so long that their home country do not want them back. Peter, along with his half brother Ivan, were to rule Russia from 1682 to their death. Due to Ivans feeblemind and Peter s young age, Ivan s older sister Sophia, took charge of the throne as regent. Before ascending as Tsar of Russia, in early 1989 Peter was married to Eudoxia. Peter and Eudoxia had one son Tsarevich Alexei, but in 1698 Peter sent his wife to a convent where she was forced to become a nun, while his son was sentenced to death due to traitorous actions against his own father. After a failed coup of power from Sophia in 1689, by using the revolt of an armed force(streltsy) backfired, Peter took back by force his rightful title. • 18. Design Theory And The General Systems Theory Introduction The uses of conceptual models are essential to help guide the nursing process. There are many different types of conceptual models and among these models there is the Roy Adaption model that was created by Sister Callista Roy. According to McEwen, like many models/theories in this unit, it is a deductive theory based on nursing practice (p. 177, 2014). Throughout this paper, we will be explaining, discussing and analyzing this specific model by the use of a clinical situation. Presentation of the conceptual model The Roy adaption model was influenced by Helson s Adaption Theory and the General Systems Theory, which was developed by Ludwig von Bertalanffy in 1968 (Pepin, Kerouac Ducharme, 2010). Each and every theory has a basic philosophy as to where it stems from and the Roy model stems from the concepts of humanism and veritivity. The principle of humanism describes that every individual s human experiences affects their knowledge and values in the world. The principal of veritivity was created by Roy and is defined as, a principal of human nature that affirms a common purposefulness of human existence (Roy Andrews, 2008, p. 27). Roy has four basic components of adaption. The first component is physiological and as for the other three, they are considered psychosocial. Each component can be evaluated as being either adaptive, which is considered positive, or ineffective, which is considered negative (Roy Andrews, 2008). To decide whether a ... To become a member of a discourse community one must be a part of something that many people can relate to, experience is a key part of this. At the start of my freshman year I was subjected to change; my life was moved from one location to another, and I was therefore forced to change schools. This changeover had a significant effect on my life moving forward. I had to learn to adjust in a new place, and adapt my personality to make myself more open and outgoing. The Scriptural Flood Myth The Scriptural creation account describes God s creation as a place where His presence resides and that created humans as the crown of His creation for relationship with Him. Humans are made in the image of God, which includes the personal nature of God and a capacity for relationship with Him. Humanity was chosen by God to be the mediator of His divine presence and power, to bear His image. Elaborated by Alexander and Baker, humans are not an afterthought created to provide for the needs of the gods, as in the Babylonian story of origins, nor are we slaves of the gods as in some of the Egyptian stories. The first commandment in the Decalogue states that you shall have no other gods before me (Ex. 20:3) which establishes that God works alone and is not part of a pantheon. He is not one god among many, but the one True God. As well, when God reveals His name, YHWH, to His people and establishes the Law, the Old Testament format for the covenant is very similar to the Hittite treaties and Assyrian treaties from the Late Bronze Age. This reflects the character of God to reveal His law and the covenant relationship in a language and custom that His chosen people are familiar with. He is a thoughtful and compassionate God who communicates in a way that His people will understand. Though treaties were common in this time, no deity had ever entered into a treaty with humans which further reveals His unique covenant relationship with His people. As well, the treaties typically expressed a suzerain and vassal type relationship, and it is possible that YHWH is even further establishing His royal rule and relationships with His people as their faithful King. Through the formation of Israel as God s chosen people depicted in the covenant at Sinai, His care and promises are evidenced through a royal inscription by an Egyptian pharaoh on the Merneptah Stele (ca. 1209) which mentions that Israel was established as a people in the land of ... You might find this tone normal for a historical account of the events of someone s life if not for the fact that the narrative was written by Frederick Douglass himself. In light of the fact that Douglass wrote his autobiography as a treatise in support of the abolishment of slavery, the removed tone was an effective tone. It gave force to his argument that slavery should be done away with. Considering the fact that this was written during the height of the abolition movement the novel had to be effective in order to advance the success of the movement. ... Here Douglass shows that slavery was not a constant source of pain and suffering: I was not old enough to work in the fields, and there being little else than field work to do, I had a great deal of leisure time, (Douglass 71.) This is effective in proving his point because it allows him to show the true horrors of slavery and not be lopsided in his views. Weber 2 Having an objective also paved the way for Douglass to show the most gruesome and torrid tales of slave life. Here is where the autobiographical form of the exposition comes in hand, enabling him to go into the closest of detail of his own experiences as a slave: I had been at my new home but one week before Mr. Covey gave me a very severe whipping, cutting my back, causing the blood to run, and raising ridges on my flesh as large as my little finger, (Douglass 101.) Notice how all he does is detail the incident. He doesn t speak of how this made him feel or what he wanted to do in response. This neutrality removes him from the picture and lets the sequence of events speak as loudly as they do for themselves. Granted the tone changes throughout the book but the overwhelming and most effective tone was that of objectivity. Showing both sides gives him the opportunity to say that his work was not partial to abolishment. Some of the parts of the story discussed will show some of the differences between the book and the movie and how this relates to Christianity. In my opinion, I prefer the book over the movie as I think it better represents how the story relates to Christianity, but I also enjoy the movie as it gives a visual representation of following Christ through difficult times. During one part of the story, the Pevensie children are at the Beavers house when the youngest boy leaves to go to the White Witch. There are a few differences between the two when it comes to Edmund at the castle. Before Edmund knew who the Witch really was, she tempted him and told him she would give him great things for a price, and it seemed impossible to pass up. It is also possible that scouts and the director will also be heavily involved with coaches within the organization. The information gathered will help teams in many ways. It allows them to draft the best possible player and to get the best free agents for the right price, but it helps them prepare for games against opposing teams. These three parts are vital when it comes to winning in the present but also in future years. Matt said that the most exciting part about his job was being able to win and being such a big part of the process. Matt gave some advice to me that would be good for any college student looking to get this job or a similar one. • 35. The Development And Analysis Of Microsatellite Dna Essay 10 THE DEVELOPMENT AND ANALYSIS OF MICROSATELLITE DNA Summary Due to the significant negative impact of the industrial activities on the habitat, many species have become endangered. To conserve the species, a thorough investigation is needed. In this case, the research is based on the study the interdependencies between the genotype and spatial dispersal of populations. Despite being endangered, turtles comprise rather specific object for such investigations, as well as any other long lived organisms, because their reproduction cycles complicate the genetic investigations using conventional methods. That is why the novel DNA markers, microsatellites, were chosen for this research. Although the microsatellites are very informative and universal, the overall cost for research is higher than for RAPD and AFLP. This is mostly due to the cost of the fluorescent dye which is used in the PCR. To eliminate this, I will apply an interesting technique which allows for incorporation of the dye by the forward primer into the product of polymerization thus saving a considerable amount of the dye. Generally, I plan to base research on such steps: Studying the populations of Apalone spinifera and Apalone mutica based on available data; Taking samples of blood from the animals which are going to be caught by hand in their usual habitat. The sampling will occur in the least possible harmful way; Testing 12 pairs of primers initially developed for Apalone spinifera using the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It depicts a young Elizabeth who finds solace and is accepted by her peers because she takes part in intimidating her schoolmate Celia. Indeed, are we living in a dream? Most people would be answer No. Therefore, we truly need to live the way we really want to do before we die. Thus, I realize, I should do that what I want to do in my life. For this reason, I made a bucket list with three categories: personal, academic, and professional. Since then, I have been wanting to go to Greece and Iceland by myself. If I could go there, I would like to go to Santorini Island in Greece, which is the most beautiful place I have seen on TV, and it looks peaceful with a blue ocean. Salome M. Krell and David Farrell describe Santorini as an unforgettable beauty when they say, I . . . have fallen in love with this spellbinding place (3). For this reason, I would like to go Santorini, and I would like to drink wine on the terrace overlooking the sea; I will feel relaxed and free. Then, I would like to visit Iceland.
