The long established battery chargers are having many drawbacks such as prominent ripple charging current, less efficiency and bulky in size. To overcome these drawbacks of conventional battery charger, several charging circuits have been proposed and inevitability force to design a high-performance battery charger with small in size and improved efficiency. In this paper solar photovoltaic system based half-bridge series–parallel resonant converter (HBSPRC) charger is proposed for battery interface. The converter is designed to abolish low and high-frequency ripple currents and thus take full advantage of the life of secondary battery circuit. This is achieved by designing converter switches turn on at zero current and zero voltage with switching frequency greater than that of resonance frequency which leads to freewheeling diodes need not have very fast reverse-recovery characteristics. The performance of the power converters depends upon the control method adopted; in this work fuzzy logic controller is used for controlling the output voltage of HBSPRC. The fuzzy control scheme for the HBSPR converter has been designed and validated in hardware implementation of HBSPRC switching technique. Mitigation of Power Quality Issues by Nine Switches UPQC Using PI & ANN with ...MABUSUBANI SHAIK
Abstract—A nine-switch power converter having two sets of output terminals was recently proposed in place of the traditional back-to-back power converter that uses 12 switches in total. The nine-switch converter has already been proven to have certain advantages, in addition to its component saving topological feature. Despite these advantages, the nine-switch converter has so far found limited applications due to its many perceived performance tradeoffs like requiring an oversized dc-link capacitor, limited amplitude sharing, and constrained phase shift between its two sets of output terminals. Instead of accepting these tradeoffs as limitations, a nine-switch power conditioner is proposed here that virtually “converts” most of these topological short comings into interesting performance advantages. Aiming further to reduce its switching losses, Harmonics, Voltage Sag & Swell an appropriate discontinuous modulation scheme is proposed and studied here in detail to doubly ensure that maximal reduction of commutations is achieved. With an appropriately designed control scheme with PI and ANN with Hysteresis controller then incorporated, the nine-switch converter is shown to favorably raise the overall power quality in Simulation, hence justifying its role as a power conditioner at a reduced cost.

An Active Input Current Waveshaping with Zero Switching Losses for Three-Phas...IDES Editor
In this paper a zero voltage switched active network
(Fig. 1) which can be used in conjunction with single-phase or
three-phase ac to dc diode rectifiers is presented. It is shown
that application of the proposed switching network in threephase
ac to dc boost converter yields zero switching losses
while maintaining a unity input power factor. Active network
capacitor, Cs, diodes D7, and D8, maintain a zero voltage during
turn-off of Q1, and Q2, Capacitor, Cs, discharges through
the boost inductors of the circuit thus limiting the rate of rise
of current during turn-on. Moreover, the advantage of the
proposed active network is that it can maintain a zero voltage
switching over the entire range of the duty cycle of the operation.
Consequently, boost stage can be used directly to control
the dc bus voltage by varying the duty cycle at Constant switching
frequency. The resulting advantages include higher
switching frequencies, and better efficiency. Finally the operation
of the active switching network is verified experimentally
on a prototype three-phase ac to dc converter.
This paper presents the simulation design of dc/dc interleaved boost converter with zero-voltage switching (ZVS). By employin the interleaved structure, the input current stresses to switching devices were reduced and this signified to a switching conduction loss reduction. All the parameters had been calculated theoretically. The proposed converter circuit was simulated by using MATLAB/Simulink and PSpice software programmes. The converter circuit model, with specifications of output power of 200 W, input voltage range from 10~60 V, and operates at 100 kHz switching frequency was simulated to validate the designed parameters. The results showed that the main switches of the model converter circuit achieved ZVS conditions during the interleaving operation. Consequently, the switching losses in the main switching devices were reduced. Thus, the proposed converter circuit model offers advantages of input current stress and switching loss reductions. Hence, based on the designed parameters and results, the converter model can be extended for hardware implementation.

The open loop DABDAC system, closed loop PI based DABDAC system an Proportional Resonant Controller (PRC)based DABDAC system are designed, modeled and simulated using MATLAB Simulink. The results of PR controlled system are compared with those of PI controlled system. The results indicate that the proposed PRC-DABDAC has better time domain response than PI controlled DABDAC system. The proposed DABDAC system has advantages like high gain and steady state error in output voltage.
Diode Free T-Type Five Level Neutral Point Clamped Inverter for Low Voltage D...IJTET Journal
Abstract—The multilevel inverter is used as a solution to increase the inverter operating voltage above the voltage limits of classical semiconductors. A Diode Free T-Type Five Level NPC inverter for Low Voltage DC System is proposed in this paper. The T-Type inverter topology is more efficient and conventional than I-type inverter topology. Considerable suppression of the harmonic current is the ultimate goal of multilevel inverter. Losses like Semiconductor loss, conduction loss are mainly due to IGBT & diode in the current path. So the proposed system is designed with cool MOSFET without diode. The middle bidirectional switch is replaced by two pair of MOSFET. Hence the five level NPC inverter is more significant for low and medium power range DC source and for Renewable energy system.

A Novel Approach of Position Estimation and Power Factor Corrector Converter ...IJPEDS-IAES
This paper proposes a Power factor Corrected (PFC) Bridgeless Buck-Boost converter fed BLDC motor drive. The Bridgeless configuration eliminates the Diode Bridge Rectifier in order to reduce the number of components and the conduction loss. The position sensors used in BLDC drives have drawbacks of additional cost, mechanical alignment problems. These bottle necks results in sensorless technique. The Sensorless technique mostly relies on measurement of Back EMF to determine relative positions of stator and rotor for the correct coil energising sequence can be implemented. This paper introduces the offline Finite Element method for sensorless operation. The proposed sensorless scheme estimates the motor position at standstill and running condition. The obtained Power Factor is within the acceptable limits IEC 61000-3-2. The proposed drive is simulated in MATLAB/Simulink the obtained results are validated experimentally on a developed prototype of the drive.
This paper presents an analysis of virtual-flux direct power control (VFDPC) technique for the three-phase pulse width modulation (PWM) ac-dc converter. The proposed VFDPC is developed by assuming the grid voltage and converter line filters quantities are related to a virtual three-phase ac motor. The controller works with less number of sensors by eliminating the voltage sensors used for measuring the three-phase grid voltage. The grid virtual flux which is proportional to the grid voltage will be estimated from the information of converter switching states, line current, and dc-link output voltage. Several analyses are performed in order to study the steady state and dynamic performance of the converter, particularly during the load and DC voltage output reference variations. The proportional integral (PI) controller at the outer voltage control loop of VFDPC is tuned properly and the entire PWM ac-dc converter system is simulated using MATLAB/Simulink to ensure the dc output voltage follow the desired output voltage under steady state and dynamic conditions. Ac-dc converter utilizing the proposed VFDPC is able to generate three-phase input current waveforms that are almost sinusoidal with low harmonics contents which is less than 5% and near unity power factor (pf) operation.

MOSFET is analyzed for input power factor, harmonic profile and efficiency of the

value of the fundamental component of the output voltage can be increased by varying the
duty ratio (K) of the pulses. It is observed from the simulation results obtained using
MATLAB/simulink that the proposed scheme using EPWM technique significantly reduces
low order harmonics, eliminates certain harmonics for certain values of P, improves input
power factor and hence significantly reduces the filter size of the converter.

High gain dc-dc step up converters have been used in renewable energy systems, for example, photovoltaic grid connected system and fuel cell power plant to step up the low level dc voltage to a high level dc bus voltage. If the conventional boost converter is to meet this demand, it should be operated at an extreme duty cycle (duty cycle closes to unity), which will cause electromagnetic interference, reverse recovery problem and conduction loss at the power switches. This paper proposes a class of non-isolated dc-dc step up converters which provide very high voltage gain at a small duty cycle (duty cycle < 0.5). Firstly, the converter topologies are derived based on active switched inductor network and combination of active and passive switched inductor networks; secondly, the modes of operation of proposed active switched inductor converter and combined active and passive switched inductor converter are illustrated; thirdly, the performance of the proposed converters are analyzed mathematically in details and compared with conventional boost converter. Finally, the analysis is verified by simulation results.
Now day’s the power factor has become a major problem in power system to improve the power quality of the grid, as power factor is affected on the grid due to the nonlinear loads connected to it. Single phase bridgeless AC/DC power factor correction (PFC) topology to improve the power factor as well as the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the utility grid is proposed. By removing the input bridge in conventional PFC converters, the control circuit is simplified; the total harmonics distortion (THD) and power factor (PF) are improved. The PI controller operates in two loops one is the outer control loop which calculates the reference current through LC filter and signal processing. Inner current loop generates PWM switching signals through the PI controller. The output of the proposed PFC topology is verified for prototype using MATLAB circuit simulations. The experimental system is developed, and the simulation results are obtained.
MODELLING OF 200W LED DRIVER CIRCUIT DESIGN WITH LLC CONVERTERJournal For Research
LED is a recent technology, which has replaced all other conventional light sources in the past few years and since it is current controlled, accurate driver design is necessary. The LED driver should have the capability of providing constant current regardless of the LED forward voltage variations. The LLC converter is controlled to operate as a constant current mode LED driver. A 100 kHz, 200W LLC LED driver is designed and calculated to verify the proposed circuit and design method. This paper proposes mathematical model of 200W LED driver circuit design with LLC resonant converter. The proposed circuit uses a full bridge rectifier to convert AC to DC and increases the rectified output voltage using boost converter which is operated in continuous conduction mode and a quasi-half bridge resonant converter to drive the LED lamp load with coupling transformer. The LLC converter is designed such that solid state switches of quasi half bridge are working under zero switching scheme to reduce switching losses. The analysis, design and modelling of 200 W LED driver is carried out by mathematical model and stability analysis for universal AC mains.

Abstract: This article deals with a transformerless buck-boost converter with simple structure. By inserting an additional switched network into the traditional buck-boost converter new converter is obtained. Compared with the traditional buck-boost converter, its voltage gain is quadratic of the traditional buck-boost converter. It can operate in a wide range of output voltage, that is, the proposed buck-boost converter can achieve high or low voltage gain without extreme duty cycle. Moreover, the output voltage of this transformerless buck-boost converter is common-ground with the input voltage, and its polarity is positive. The two power switches of the proposed buck-boost converter operate synchronously. The operating principles and the steady-state analyses for the buck-boost converter operating in CCM are presented. The PSIM simulations are provided to compare and validate the effectiveness of the buck-boost converter.

Abstract: A traditional boost converter cannot provide high voltage gain because of the equivalent series resistance present in the circuit. Studies are going on to develop high gain boost converters without extremely high duty ratio. Coupled inductor or transformer link can be used in to get a high step up converter. Transformer links make the circuit bulkier. A dual switch step up converter is a compact solution to get high conversion ratio. High voltage gain can be obtained in a dual switch boost converter, with a low voltage and current stress on the switches. Here a method to further improve the voltage gain of a dual switch converter is presented. A dual switch step up DC/DC converter circuit with high voltage gain is explained. The converter achieves high voltage gain with a low duty cycle. For the same conversion ratio, voltage stress across the switches is also low compared to the traditional dual switch converter. Simulation results in MATLAB/Simulink are also presented.

A new closed loop AC to DC ĈUK converter is presented in this paper. The conventional ĈUK AC to DC converter has no feedback circuit. Thereby, the output voltage of the converter changes while changing the load. The proposed closed loop converter can regulate voltage with the variation of load over a wide range. Moreover, the power factor and Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of the supply side current found quite satisfactory from this closed loop ĈUK converter. The converter operates in four steps with a different combination of voltage polarities and switching states. The feedback path consists of a voltage control loop and a current control loop. The closed loop ĈUK converter in this study is compared with the open loop version. Additionally, the comparison is made with the conventional converter of the same topology. The effectiveness in terms of power factor and THD of the proposed converter is verified using simulation results.
Comparative Steady State Analysis of Boost and Cascaded Boost Converter with ...IAES-IJPEDS
In this paper, an overall comparison between the Boost Converter (BC) &
Cascaded Converter/ Cascaded Boost Converter (CBC) has been depicted in
terms of ideal condition, as well as with the consideration of Equivalent
Series Resistance (ESR) of inductor(s). The loss comparison in the two
converters due to the ESR is also included in this paper. It can be seen that in
CBC, voltage gain is more but the power loss due to ESR is also more
compared to BC. The parameters of the converters are derived with a
consideration of per unit ripple quantity of inductor current and capacitor
voltage. A boundary condition between the continuous conduction mode
(CCM) & discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) of the inductor current is
also shown. The behaviour of the capacitor current for the converters is
discussed during ON and OFF condition of the switch(es) during DCM. At
the end, the simulation results of both the converters are given for a
20V/100V, 100 W output. The analysis and simulation results are presented
in this paper for the verification of the feasibility.

Coupled Inductor Based High Step-Up DC-DC Converter for Multi Input PV SystemIJERA Editor
With the shortage of the energy and ever increasing of the oil price, research on the renewable and green energy
sources, especially the solar arrays and the fuel cells, becomes more and more important. How to achieve high
step-up and high efficiency DC/DC converters is the major consideration in the renewable power applications
due to the low voltage of PV arrays and fuel cells. In this paper a coupled inductor dc-dc converter for photovoltaic
system is proposed. The circuit configuration of the proposed converter is very simple. Thus, the
proposed converter has higher step-up and step-down voltage gains than the conventional bidirectional dc–dc
boost/buck converter. Under same electric specifications for the proposed converter and the conventional
bidirectional boost/buck converter, the average value of the switch current in the proposed converter is less than
the conventional bidirectional boost/buck converter. The operating principles have been applied to multi input
photovoltaic system and outputs have been observed.
Transformer less Boost Converter Topologies with Improved Voltage Gain Operat...IJMER
In this project, a new step up converter proposed in a recent work is analyzed, designed, simulated with MATLAB Simulink. Conventional dc–dc boost converters are unable to provide high step-up voltage gains due to the effect of power switches, rectifier diodes, and the equivalent series resistance of inductors and capacitors. This paper proposes transformer less dc–dc converters to achieve high step-up voltage gain without an extremely high duty ratio. In the proposed converters, two inductors with the same level of inductance are charged in parallel during the switch-on period and are discharged in series during the switch-off period. The structures of the proposed converters are very simple.

Abstract—In this paper, an advanced high frequency link AC-AC Push-pull cycloconverter for the voltage compensation is proposed in order to maintain the power quality in electric grid. The proposed methodology can be achieve arbitrary output voltage without using large energy storage elements. So that the system is more steadfast and less costly compared with the conventional inverter topology. Additionally, the proposed converter does not contain any line frequency transformer, which reduces the cost further. The control scheme for the push pull cycloconverter employs the fuzzy logic controller based sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) to accomplish better performance on voltage compensation, like unbalanced voltage harmonics elimination. The simulation results are given to show the effectiveness of the proposed high frequency link AC-AC converter and fuzzy logic controller based SPWM technology

PV Cell Fed High Step-up DC-DC Converter for PMSM Drive ApplicationsIJMTST Journal
In this concept novel high step-up dc–dc converter with an active coupled-inductor network is presented for
a sustainable energy system. The proposed converter contains two coupled inductors which can be
integrated into one magnetic core and two switches. The primary sides of coupled inductors are charged in
parallel by the input source, and both the coupled inductors are discharged in series with the input source to
achieve the high step-up voltage gain with appropriate duty ratio, respectively. In addition, the passive
lossless clamped circuit not only recycles leakage energies of the coupled inductor to improve efficiency but
also alleviates large voltage spike to limit the voltage stresses of the main switches. The reverse-recovery
problem of the output diode is also alleviated by the leakage inductor and the lower part count is needed;
therefore, the power conversion efficiency can be further upgraded. The voltage conversion ratios, the effect of
the leakage inductance and the parasitic parameters on the voltage gain are discussed. The voltage stress
and current stress on the power devices are illustrated and the comparisons between the proposed converter
and other converters are given. The simulation results are presented by using Mat lab/Simulink software.

The aim of this research is the speed tracking of the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) using an intelligent Neural-Network based adapative backstepping control. First, the model of PMSM in the Park synchronous frame is derived. Then, the PMSM speed regulation is investigated using the classical method utilizing the field oriented control theory. Thereafter, a robust nonlinear controller employing an adaptive backstepping strategy is investigated in order to achieve a good performance tracking objective under motor parameters changing and external load torque application. In the final step, a neural network estimator is integrated with the adaptive controller to estimate the motor parameters values and the load disturbance value for enhancing the effectiveness of the adaptive backstepping controller. The robsutness of the presented control algorithm is demonstrated using simulation tests. The obtained results clearly demonstrate that the presented NN-adaptive control algorithm can provide good trackingperformances for the speed trackingin the presence of motor parameter variation and load application.
This paper presents a fast and accurate fault detection, classification and direction discrimination algorithm of transmission lines using one-dimensional convolutional neural networks (1D-CNNs) that have ingrained adaptive model to avoid the feature extraction difficulties and fault classification into one learning algorithm. A proposed algorithm is directly usable with raw data and this deletes the need of a discrete feature extraction method resulting in more effective protective system. The proposed approach based on the three-phase voltages and currents signals of one end at the relay location in the transmission line system are taken as input to the proposed 1D-CNN algorithm. A 132kV power transmission line is simulated by Matlab simulink to prepare the training and testing data for the proposed 1D- CNN algorithm. The testing accuracy of the proposed algorithm is compared with other two conventional methods which are neural network and fuzzy neural network. The results of test explain that the new proposed detection system is efficient and fast for classifying and direction discrimination of fault in transmission line with high accuracy as compared with other conventional methods under various conditions of faults.
Among the most widespread renewable energy sources is solar energy; Solar panels offer a green, clean, and environmentally friendly source of energy. In the presence of several advantages of the use of photovoltaic systems, the random operation of the photovoltaic generator presents a great challenge, in the presence of a critical load. Among the most used solutions to overcome this problem is the combination of solar panels with generators or with the public grid or both. In this paper, an energy management strategy is proposed with a safety aspect by using artificial neural networks (ANNs), in order to ensure a continuous supply of electricity to consumers with a maximum solicitation of renewable energy.
In this paper, the artificial neural network (ANN) has been utilized for rotating machinery faults detection and classification. First, experiments were performed to measure the lateral vibration signals of laboratory test rigs for rotor-disk-blade when the blades are defective. A rotor-disk-blade system with 6 regular blades and 5 blades with various defects was constructed. Second, the ANN was applied to classify the different x- and y-axis lateral vibrations due to different blade faults. The results based on training and testing with different data samples of the fault types indicate that the ANN is robust and can effectively identify and distinguish different blade faults caused by lateral vibrations in a rotor. As compared to the literature, the present paper presents a novel work of identifying and classifying various rotating blade faults commonly encountered in rotating machines using ANN. Experimental data of lateral vibrations of the rotor-disk-blade system in both x- and y-directions are used for the training and testing of the network.

To solve this problem, we will apply the ABC algorithm to a power system incorporating wind power. The proposed approach is applied on a standard IEEE-30 system with wind farms located on different buses and with different penetration levels to show the impact of wind farms on the system in order to obtain the optimal settings of control variables of the OPF problem. Based on technical results obtained, the ABC algorithm is shown to achieve a lower cost and losses than the other methods applied, while incorporating wind power into the system, high performance would be gained.

Kosovo has limited renewable energy resources and its power generation sector is based on fossil fuels. Such a situation emphasizes the importance of active research and efficient use of renewable energy potential. According to the analysis of meteorological data for Kosovo, it can be concluded that among the most attractive potential wind power sites are the locations known as Kitka (42° 29' 41" N and 21° 36' 45" E) and Koznica (42° 39′ 32″ N, 21° 22′30″E). The two terrains in which the analysis was carried out are mountain areas, with altitudes of 1142 m (Kitka) and 1230 m (Koznica). the same measuring height, about 84 m above the ground, is obtained for these average wind speeds: Kitka 6,667 m/s and Koznica 6,16 m/s. Since the difference in wind speed is quite large versus a difference in altitude that is not being very large, analyses are made regarding the terrain characteristics including the terrain relief features. In this paper it will be studied how much the roughness of the terrain influences the output energy. Also, that the assumption to be taken the same as to how much they will affect the annual energy produced.
Large-scale grid-tied photovoltaic (PV) station are increasing rapidly. However, this large penetration of PV system creates frequency fluctuation in the grid due to the intermittency of solar irradiance. Therefore, in this paper, a robust droop control mechanism of the battery energy storage system (BESS) is developed in order to damp the frequency fluctuation of the multi-machine grid system due to variable active power injected from the PV panel. The proposed droop control strategy incorporates frequency error signal and dead-band for effective minimization of frequency fluctuation. The BESS system is used to consume/inject an effective amount of active power based upon the frequency oscillation of the grid system. The simulation analysis is carried out using PSCAD/EMTDC software to prove the effectiveness of the proposed droop control-based BESS system. The simulation result implies that the proposed scheme can efficiently curtail the frequency oscillation.

This paper focuses on the modeling and control of a wind energy conversion chain using a permanent magnet synchronous machine. This system behaves a turbine, a generator, DC/DC and DC/AC power converters. These are connected on both sides to the DC bus, where the inverter is followed by a filter which is connected to the grid. In this paper, we have been used two types of controllers. For the stator side converter, we consider the Takagi-Sugeno approach where the parameters of controller have been computed by the theory of linear matrix inequalities. The stability synthesis has been checked using the Lyapunov theory. According to the grid side converter, the proportional integral controller is exploited to keep a constant voltage on the DC bus and control both types of powers. The simulation results demonstrate the robustness of the approach used.
The development of modeling wind speed plays a very important in helping to obtain the actual wind speed data for the benefit of the power plant planning in the future. The wind speed in this paper is obtained from a PCE-FWS 20 type measuring instrument with a duration of 30 minutes which is accumulated into monthly data for one year (2019). Despite the many wind speed modeling that has been done by researchers. Modeling wind speeds proposed in this study were obtained from the modified Rayleigh distribution. In this study, the Rayleigh scale factor (Cr) and modified Rayleigh scale factor (Cm) were calculated. The observed wind speed is compared with the predicted wind characteristics. The data fit test used correlation coefficient (R2), root means square error (RMSE), and mean absolute percentage error (MAPE). The results of the proposed modified Rayleigh model provide very good results for users.

Electricity is currently the most useful kind of energy in Bangladesh. It has a substantial influence on a country's socioeconomic standing and living standards. Maintaining a stable source of energy at a cost that is affordable to everyone has been a constant battle for decades. Bangladesh is blessed with a wealth of natural resources. Bangladesh has a huge opportunity to accelerate its economic development while increasing energy access, livelihoods, and health for millions of people in a sustainable way due to the renewable energy system.
When the irradiance distribution over the photovoltaic panels is uniform, the pursuit of the maximum power point is not reached, which has allowed several researchers to use traditional MPPT techniques to solve this problem Among these techniques a PSO algorithm is used to have the maximum global power point (GMPPT) under partial shading. On the other hand, this one is not reliable vis-à-vis the pursuit of the MPPT. Therefore, in this paper we have treated another technique based on a new modified PSO algorithm so that the power can reach its maximum point. The PSO algorithm is based on the heuristic method which guarantees not only the obtaining of MPPT but also the simplicity of control and less expensive of the system. The results are obtained using MATLAB show that the proposed modified PSO algorithm performs better than conventional PSO and is robust to different partial shading models.
A stable operation of wind turbines connected to the grid is an essential requirement to ensure the reliability and stability of the power system. To achieve such operational objective, installing static synchronous compensator static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) as a main compensation device guarantees the voltage stability enhancement of the wind farm connected to distribution network at different operating scenarios. STATCOM either supplies or absorbs reactive power in order to ensure the voltage profile within the standard-margins and to avoid turbine tripping, accordingly. This paper present new study that investigates the most suitable-location to install STATCOM in a distribution system connected wind farm to maintain the voltage-levels within the stability margins. For a large-scale squirrel cage induction generator squirrel-cage induction generator (SCIG-based) wind turbine system, the impact of STATCOM installation was tested in different places and voltage-levels in the distribution system. The proposed method effectiveness in enhancing the voltage profile and balancing the reactive power is validated, the results were repeated for different scenarios of expected contingencies. The voltage profile, power flow, and reactive power balance of the distribution system are observed using MATLAB/Simulink software.
The electrical and environmental parameters of polymer solar cells (PSC) provide important information on their performance. In the present article we study the influence of temperature on the voltage-current (I-V) characteristic at different temperatures from 10 °C to 90 °C, and important parameters like bandgap energy Eg, and the energy conversion efficiency η. The one-diode electrical model, normally used for semiconductor cells, has been tested and validated for the polemeral junction. The PSC used in our study are formed by the poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) and [6,6]-phenyl C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM). Our technique is based on the combination of two steps; the first use the Least Mean Squares (LMS) method while the second use the Newton-Raphson algorithm. The found results are compared to other recently published works, they show that the developed approach is very accurate. This precision is proved by the minimal values of statistical errors (RMSE) and the good agreement between both the experimental data and the I-V simulated curves. The obtained results show a clear and a monotonic dependence of the cell efficiency on the studied parameters.
The inverter is the principal part of the photovoltaic (PV) systems that assures the direct current/alternating current (DC/AC) conversion (PV array is connected directly to an inverter that converts the DC energy produced by the PV array into AC energy that is directly connected to the electric utility). In this paper, we present a simple method for detecting faults that occurred during the operation of the inverter. These types of faults or faults affect the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the photovoltaic system, especially the inverter, which is the main component responsible for the conversion. Hence, we have shown first the faults obtained in the case of the short circuit. Second, the open circuit failure is studied. The results demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed method. Good monitoring and detection of faults in the inverter can increase the system's reliability and decrease the undesirable faults that appeared in the PV system. The system behavior is tested under variable parameters and conditions using MATLAB/Simulink.
The electrical distribution network is undergoing tremendous modifications with the introduction of distributed generation technologies which have led to an increase in fault current levels in the distribution network. Fault current limiters have been developed as a promising technology to limit fault current levels in power systems. Though, quite a number of fault current limiters have been developed; the most common are the superconducting fault current limiters, solid-state fault current limiters, and saturated core fault current limiters. These fault current limiters present potential fault current limiting solutions in power systems. Nevertheless, they encounter various challenges hindering their deployment and commercialization. This research aimed at designing a bridge-type nonsuperconducting fault current limiter with a novel topology for distribution network applications. The proposed bridge-type nonsuperconducting fault current limiter was designed and simulated using PSCAD/EMTDC. Simulation results showed the effectiveness of the proposed design in fault current limiting, voltage sag compensation during fault conditions, and its ability not to affect the load voltage and current during normal conditions as well as in suppressing the source powers during fault conditions. Simulation results also showed very minimal power loss by the fault current limiter during normal conditions.
This paper provides a new approach to reducing high-order harmonics in 400 Hz inverter using a three-level neutral-point clamped (NPC) converter. A voltage control loop using the harmonic compensation combined with NPC clamping diode control technology. The capacitor voltage imbalance also causes harmonics in the output voltage. For 400 Hz inverter, maintain a balanced voltage between the two input (direct current) (DC) capacitors is difficult because the pulse width modulation (PWM) modulation frequency ratio is low compared to the frequency of the output voltage. A method of determining the current flowing into the capacitor to control the voltage on the two balanced capacitors to ensure fast response reversal is also given in this paper. The combination of a high-harmonic resonator controller and a neutral-point voltage controller working together on the 400 Hz NPC inverter structure is given in this paper.
Direct current (DC) electronic load is a useful equipment for testing the electrical system. It can emulate various load at a high rating. The electronic load requires a power converter to operate and a linear regulator is a common option. Nonetheless, it is hard to control due to the temperature variation. This paper proposed a DC electronic load using the boost converter. The proposed electronic load operates in the continuous current mode and control using the integral controller. The electronic load using the boost converter is compared with the electronic load using the linear regulator. The results show that the boost converter able to operate as an electronic load with an error lower than 0.5% and response time lower than 13 ms.

Cosmetic shop management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Buying new cosmetic products is difficult. It can even be scary for those who have sensitive skin and are prone to skin trouble. The information needed to alleviate this problem is on the back of each product, but it's thought to interpret those ingredient lists unless you have a background in chemistry.
Instead of buying and hoping for the best, we can use data science to help us predict which products may be good fits for us. It includes various function programs to do the above mentioned tasks.
Data file handling has been effectively used in the program.
The automated cosmetic shop management system should deal with the automation of general workflow and administration process of the shop. The main processes of the system focus on customer's request where the system is able to search the most appropriate products and deliver it to the customers. It should help the employees to quickly identify the list of cosmetic product that have reached the minimum quantity and also keep a track of expired date for each cosmetic product. It should help the employees to find the rack number in which the product is placed. It is also Faster and more efficient way.
Courier management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
It is now-a-days very important for the people to send or receive articles like imported furniture, electronic items, gifts, business goods and the like. People depend vastly on different transport systems which mostly use the manual way of receiving and delivering the articles. There is no way to track the articles till they are received and there is no way to let the customer know what happened in transit, once he booked some articles. In such a situation, we need a system which completely computerizes the cargo activities including time to time tracking of the articles sent. This need is fulfilled by Courier Management System software which is online software for the cargo management people that enables them to receive the goods from a source and send them to a required destination and track their status from time to time.
CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!

Analysis of High Voltage High Power Resonant Converters (Bhuvaneswari.C)

reference control signal has to be supplied separately [7] .If high voltage is preferred, a Single tube fed by a
High Voltage power supply has been developed instead of the conventional techniques using two tubes (used
for computer Tomography). But it gives a high Pulse Repetition rate which has to be looked into [8].
Analysis for steady state condition using Fundamental Approximation Method has been done [9].A
Mathematical Model has been Presented for the Multilevel Resonant converter for radiography and
fluoroscopy at steady state conditions [10].
Similarly focusing on high voltage applications, the simulation of LLC, CLL and LCC resonant
converters were done. This paper presents the comparative analysis of resonant converters for a higher output
voltage. In addition to the output voltage, the output power and the efficiency is also calculated. Out of all the
three resonant converters, the waveform of the LCC Resonant Converter is free of ripples and so it has been
found out to be best suited for high voltage applications. The paper comprises of Section I describing the
Introduction, Section II explaining the System Configuration, Section III, IV and V about the Software
Implementation, Results and Discussion and the Application respectively. The Last section VI gives the
conclusion of the work.
2. SYSTEM CONFIGURATION
Resonant Converters are LC Networks capable of generating high voltages at zero voltage switching
or zero current switching. They can be used for high voltage applications such as Electronic Precipitators,
Electric Vehicle system, X-ray, etc., One such system configuration has been described below.
Figure 1. Configuration of the converter
Figure 1gives the configuration of the converter. The dc Voltage of 540 volts is given as an input is
converted to ac voltage by the inverter. The converted ac voltage is fed to the transformer through the
resonant tank circuit. Different tank circuit configurations such as LLC, LCC and CLL have been analyzed in
this paper. The transformer steps up the voltage to meet the required load specifications. The output dc
voltage is in the range of few kilovolts depending on the topology of the resonant tank circuit.

Figure 3. CLL Resonant Converter
Figure 4. LCC Resonant Converter
Figure 2, Figure 3 and Figure 4 represents the LLC, CLL and LCC Resonant Converter respectively.
The tank circuit constitutes of capacitor and inductor arranged in different combinations. LLC Resonant
Converter consists of two series Inductors Lse and Lse1 and a parallel capacitor Cp. LLC are considered to
be best as they can operate in Zero Voltage switching at no load and at narrow switching frequency range.
At heavy load, Series Features are dominant and at light load, Parallel Features are dominant. The switching
losses are also very less. LLC Resonant converters are also capable of producing high efficiency and high
power for a wide operating range.
CLL Resonant Converter consists of Series Capacitor Cse, Series Inductor Lse and a parallel inductor
Cp. In CLL Resonant Converters, the load voltage can be varied by varying the switching frequency.
LCC Resonant Converter consists of Series Inductor Lse, Series Capacitor Cse and a parallel capacitor Cp.
The different topologies of Resonant Converters also have variations in their DC Characteristics.
3. SOFTWARE IMPLEMENTATION

The same input voltage of 540 volts has been given to the above setup and the output waveforms for
the three topologies have been shown.
Figure 5. Waveforms of LLC Resonant Converter

Converter. An output Voltage of 11.41KV has been obtained with an output Current of 59milli amps.
The output voltage is a dc voltage with high ripples. The ripples can be reduced by including a filter in the
output circuit. An efficiency of 87.66 % is produced with LLC Resonant Converter.
Figure 6. Waveforms of CLL Resonant Converter
Figure 6 represents the Input Voltage, Current and Output Voltage, Current of CLL Resonant
Converter. An output Voltage of 58.93KV has been obtained with an output Current of 309milli amps.
The output voltage is a dc voltage with ripples. Also an efficiency of 91.94% is also produced.

Figure 7 represents the Input Voltage, Current and Output Voltage, Current of LCC
Resonant Converter. An output Voltage of 62.73KV has been obtained with an output Current of
329milli amps. The output voltage is a dc voltage with very less ripples. Also an efficiency of 90.44% is also
produced.
4. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
The Output Voltage, Output Current, Input and Output Power has been calculated and tabulated in
table2 for the three resonant Converters. The table shows that LCC Resonant Converter is proved to give a
high output voltage and power as compared with others.
Table 2. Calculated values of the three Converters
Converter Output Voltage (KV) Output Current (A) Input Power (KW) Output Power (KW)
LLC Resonant Converter 11.41 0.0599 0.783 0.684
CLL Resonant Converter 58.93 0.3093 19.83 18.23
LCC Resonant Converter 62.70 0.3293 22.80 20.66
Figure 8. Comparison of Efficiency
Figure 8 gives the comparison of efficiency with all the three converter in which CLL Resonant
Converter yields a high efficiency of 91.94%.
So both the comparison proves that LCC Resonant converter can give a high output voltage of
62.73kv but an efficiency of 90.44%. Also CLL Resonant Converter can give an output voltage of 58.93kv
with an efficiency of 91.94%. So if a high output voltage is required then LCC Converter is preferred and if a
high efficiency is required then CLL Resonant Converter is preferred.
If the output voltage of the three converters are examined closely, LLC Resonant converter is free of
ripples as compared with the other two converters. As the converter is to be used for high voltage
applications, Converter with less ripples is preferred.
5. APPLICATIONS
High Voltages have wide applications in many fields. Electronic Precipitators, Electric Vehicles, X-
ray are some of these. X-Rays was originally discovered by Rontgen in 1895. X-Rays have been used for
various purposes namely Medical Applications ,Material Testing, Food Inspection, Electrical and Electronic
Testing, Tire Inspection, Seed Inspection ,etc., In Medicinal Field, X-rays have been used for Computer
Tomography, Fluoroscopy, Radiotherapy, etc.,
6. CONCLUSION
Simulation of LCC, CLL LLC Resonant Converters using MATLAB Simulink has been done. A
uniform input voltage of 540v has been given with a view to obtain a high voltage in the range of Kilovolts.
This paper has discussed on two views
1. If high output voltage is the target, then LCC Resonant Converter is Ideal.
2. If high efficiency is the target rather than the voltage, then CLL Resonant Converter is Ideal.
So the selection of the converter depends purely on the parameter specifications of the application. The work
can be extended with artificial Intelligence.
