which is commonly resembled with the rock genre. Another thing
i s the high key l ighting used. This lighting contrasts well with the
colour used in the image as i t makes the band s tand out. Another
thing that makes the band fi t in with the genre of rock is the
ta ttoos that can be seen on the arms of the band members.
Ta ttoos ca n be associated with the ‘rockers’ and ‘re bels’.
Thi s artist is in the genre of pop. The way the lighting is in the image
suggests that her music is light and bouncy. This also works with her
hai r as her hair is breezy and loose which suggests she has free will and
enjoys having fun much like her music s uggests. Her name “Shakira”
s uggests the pop ge nre as re lated singers like “Rihanna” a nd
“Be yoncé ” also have one word names. This can be a s tereotype of pop
genre as most other genres don’t s eem to have this type of name
wording.
Thi s band is in the indie genre. Indie is individual which means it
does not have many s tereotypes. This band seems indie because
of the location as they are in the outdoors yet they have used
props such as arm chairs. The lighting here is very natural yet
seems brighter than the outdoors which links to the instruments
the y us e a s they don’t use e diting techniques with their music. The
cl othes they a re wearing a ren’t co ordinated which shows the
individualism that they have. They are also very comfy and normal
looking which makes it seem as though they are comfortable in
the position they are in.

2. Thi s artist is in the pop genre. We can see this through the way his face
i s . His facial expression is somewhat flirtatious because he looks as i f he
i s winking at the camera. This appeal to the younger female audience,
which he attracts. The way he looks is related to the pop genre yet he
puts his own spin on it. His fashion sense follows the trends of today, to
make him more appealing to the audience. The image uses high key
l ighting; i t shows the lighter s ide of music that he produces/ performs.
The way he smiles in the picture makes him seem smug which can be a
s tereotype o the pop genre being quite smug.
