Vascular Endothelial Development
ABSTRACT:
The disclosure of the vascular endothelial development component (VEGF) relatives VEGF, VEGF B,
placental development variable (PlGF),VEGF C and VEGF D and their receptors VEGFR 1, 2 and 3
has given devices to contemplating the vascular framework being developed and additionally in
illnesses going from ischemic coronary illness to malignancy. VEGF has been built up as the prime
angiogenic particle amid advancement, grown up physiology and pathology. VEGF C and VEGF D
are basically lymphangiogenic elements, however they can likewise impel angiogenesis in a few
conditions. While numerous studies have tended to the part of angiogenesis and the blood vasculature

As of late VEGF expression has been exhibited in heart myofibroblasts, non endothelial cells with the
morphological elements of fibroblasts. Myofibroblasts assume a noteworthy part in the development,
improvement and repair of typical tissue and are found at the site of localized necrosis. RT PCR,
Northern blot and Western blot investigation affirmed the vicinity of mRNA and protein for VEGF,

Comparing The Story Of The Old Testament And The New...
Utilizing the understanding of the later definition make is extremely easier to incorporate the narrative
of the Old Testament and the New Testament into one chronicle event moving along the time line to
teach and understand the mission of the church. It follows the events of knowing the story and where
the church came from and where it is headed. Clearly the church is not complete as Jesus has not
returned so the work is still on going. The story continues to be written. Christians today, just as the
Jewish people did back during the times of the Old Testament, need to know the story and to do that
we need to know the scriptures.
The question comes down to how the Old Testament and the New Testament would be formed into
one narrative to accomplish the goal of enhancing the understanding of the mission of the church. To
accomplish this task, I believe Christopher Wright, in his book, summarized the task very well. If one
looks at the Bible from an actual story line the flow from one Testament to the other does exactly that;
it flows. The Old Testament points to the New Testament and the New Testament builds upon the Old
Testament.
The four major sections of the biblical story are Creation, Fall, Redemption in History, and New
Creation . If people begin to think in terms of the Biblical story from Genesis through Revelation and
the realization that the story is not over, it will be simpler to understand how all the time eras in the
Bible relate to each other and

Kodak and Fujifilm
Assignment 1: Kodak And Fujifilm Laura Renee Baxter Management 302 Milton Lawler, Ph.D.
Strayer University January 23,2013 Abstract Both Kodak and Fujifilm are companies that focused on
photography and imaging as their core businesses. Despite Kodak having an upper hand of starting
earlier than Fujifilm, 1888 compared to 1934, Fujifilm adapted more to market changes and currently
still has a force to reckon. Kodak is currently in bankruptcy protection since January 2012 under
Chapter 11 with a bid to try and reconfigure its business strategies. The difference in management
strategies plays a key role in the way the two companies embraced innovation. Complacency and slow
adaptation dominated in Kodak Company while Fujifilm ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The foreseen change to digital technology close to 20 years later was seen as a far off date that the
company could lag in its then success. In the recent years, however, Kodak tried to realign its
management strategy in embracing innovation. First was its approach to move from the one company
one town scenario to the realistic competitive world. The previous model in which the company got
feedback was insufficient to acknowledge the preferences of global consumers. The shift to delocalize
research and collect data helped Kodak gather more consumer preferences in order to keep at par with
innovation. Acquiring a more diversified top level management and having a more democratic
management style helped it to assign variously qualified staff in their areas of expertise. This ensured
best skill input in each field and ensured the implementation of staff suggestion and ideas that would
foster business (Williams, 2013). Kodak s management finally had to accept the decline of their core
business area of focus, film, and diversify into various other fields to keep it afloat business. Over the
years, the company has interchangeably dropped and picked other businesses that included digital
cameras, printing, and imaging. The area current area of focus under the latest chief executive,
Antonio Perez, is digital printing. The last move in the past one year to file for Chapter 11 of the US to

Wang Lung s Filial Dishonesty In The Good Earth
The Good Earth is set in pre revolutionary rural China when women are inferior and elders are most
important. Those who treat their daughters as equals and do not practice filial piety are considered
outcasts. This is also a time when a man s life revolves around the Earth. Food is grown from the
Earth and clothes are sewn from crops because nothing is made in a factory. Religion is based on Gods
watching over the land. People also believe that the Gods will curse a bad man and reward a good one.
If a man works the land diligently, remains honest, and practices good morals, he may be rewarded
with wealth, health, and tranquility. Some people, however, do not work hard and live corrupt lives.
As a result, they never experience either wealth, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Wang Lung s uncle is very lazy and vicious. He is an unsuccessful farmer due to his idleness.
Sometimes he sells his crops when they are still in the ground because reaping the harvests strip too
much effort from the idle fool. Since he does not make much money from his harvests, he blames it on
bad luck and depends on Lung for money. Since society operates in filial piety, Wang Lung has to give
his uncle the money. Lung s uncle also participates in gang violence and cannibalism. He is not
rewarded by the Gods. He did, however, have wealth and power by living in the House of Hwang with
Wang Lung but only because Lung has to obey him. Lung s uncle never finds tranquility. He is never
content with what he has. He is always striving for more in vicious and idle ways which cause his
unfulfilling life. Wang Lung s cousin is also idle and vicious. He never learns to work and is very
lusty. When he lives with Wang Lung s family, he introduces Lung s eldest son to prostitutes. He also
flirts with his relatives and practices incest. He is not rewarded by the Gods because he is so vicious.
Instead, he never lives a fulfilling life. When he grows up he abandons his wife and unborn

Fred Adler s Theory Essay
Freda Adler is a criminologist and an educator. She was a consultant to the United Nations on criminal
justice matters since 1975. She published multiple novels on a variety of areas including female
criminality, international issues in crime, piracy, drug abuse, and social control theories. On the other
hand, Cesare Beccaria was an italian criminologist, jurist, philosopher and politician. He had a
profound influence on the Founding Fathers of the United States. He was well remembered for his
treatise On Crimes and Punishments.
Freda s theory explains that more women are starting to participate in more crimes because they are
now being introduced into a man s world and it is more accepted to do things that a male can do. Also
that the fight for women s equality has increased the rate of violence and crime committed by women.
The basis of Cesare s theory is free will, rational manner, and manipulability. Free will enables people
to make choices, good or bad.
Freda believes in more feminist theories. She believes that gender is a central organizing component
of social life including criminal offending, victimization, and criminal justice processing. She also
believes that the movement for women s equality consequently coincided with the dramatic upsurge in
women s criminal activity. In contrast, Cesare protests against the death penalty and torture to ... Show

The Debate Regarding the Use of Native American Mascots...
Teams in every sport, at every level of competition, have a mascot. It is the mascot that represents the
competitive spirit and team identity, motivating players and fans alike. Does the symbol chosen as a
mascot have any impact on whether a team wins or loses? Unlikely. But the choice of a Native
American mascot continues to ignite debate and controversy among athletes, fans and alumni, as well
as those people who might otherwise be disinterested in sports. Why all the controversy? The dispute
over whether Native American mascots should be used as a team symbol dates back to the 1970 s
(Price 2). There are those who are passionately against Native American mascots. These advocators
insist that Native American mascots are degrading to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, it seems odd to suggest that naming a team after an Indian tribe is a calculated insult. A team or
school embraces a mascot that represents the favorable traits and characteristics of its members. Such
is the case with the Florida State Seminoles, who are named after a tribe with its origin in that
southern state. The Seminole tribe optimistically favored the use of the Indian mascot and even
facilitated the design of authentic dress that is proudly worn at sporting and community events.
Similar to the Seminoles, the University of Illinois preserved their mascot, Chief Illiniwek, for almost
80 years. Named after the indigenous Illiniwek tribe, the Chief was a customary sideline figure at
football and basketball games until 2007 when the NCAA forced the University of Illinois to remove
this historic mascot. Unfortunately, the collegiate governing body failed to realize what this symbol
meant to the collegiate Illinois community. Illini students were polled regarding the action and a
majority disapproved of the decision. Sixty nine percent of the students voted to keep Chief Illiniwek
as their mascot. (Haugh). These students believed that removing Chief Illiniwek as the University of
Illinois mascot would diminish the passion associated with their university. After the forceful removal
of the Native American mascot by the NCAA, the students felt

Analysing and Testing Low Pass Filters for Anti Aliasing
1 INTRODUCTION
1.1 AIMS
The aim of this lab is to test the response and characteristics of an undefined filter circuit. This report
will present the data collected in the lab sessions, interpret this data and discuss the filter s suitability
for use in an anti aliasing circuit in an analogue to digital converter (ADC).
1.2 ANALOGUE TO DIGITAL CONVERSION AND ALIASING ADCs are used to convert analogue
signals to digital signals so that they can be processed by digital systems such as a computer. This is
particularly relevant to audio recording because signals from recording equipment, such as
microphones and electronic instruments, are in an analogue format, and must be converted to a digital
format in order to be processed by a digital audio workstation (DAW) on a computer. Analogue
electrical signals are continuous , meaning that data can take an infinite number of values between the
maximum and minimum voltages. There are also an infinite number of steps on the time scale and so
data at any moment in time can take any value within the scale. Sound travels through air via changes
in air pressure and can be represented by sound pressure level (SPL); this is a continuous scale and so
the pressure can be any value at any given moment in time. When sound is processed by a transducer,
such as a microphone, these changes in SPL are replicated by changing the

another despicable tale of trickery. He murdered a dwarf, tried to trick his son to claim the murder and

Although both the IOT and SR resulted in immense wealth being created, the IOT promoted islam

more drastic effects on society. The SR and IOT were profiting in immense wealth due to being
exclusive traders. When the Crusaders or the Christian knights from Western Europe came to the ME,

Saffron proved to be an equally important trade because of the high value that was placed on it. Not
only did it add intense and wonderful flavor to food, but during a time where there were no
refrigerators, saffron helped preserve food. Slaves, another major source of trade, had the strongest
influence since they were the most valuable goods and they were the most traded/bought goods.
Slavery not only played a key factor then, but would do so in centuries to follow as well. The SR
promoted the influence of Christianity, mostly because its final destination was Rome. After the
Roman Emperor Constantine converted to Christianity, a large portion of Rome did so as well,
resulting in Rome becoming a Catholic state. After many goods arrived in Rome, from places as far as
China, cultural diffusion occurred as a result. Also, the Crusaders influenced the road as they ventured
on recapturing Jursalem. In the SR, the major goods that were traded were silk and porcelain from
China, and horses from Persia. Silk, of all the goods listed, was the most important, not only because
of its value, but also its quality, which resulted in the SR being called the SR . However, extremely
unlike like the IOT, the SR had a disastrous effect due to Mongols passing off a disease called Black
Death . It had a

Dirtbiking Essay
Dirtbiking
Imagine speeding through a construction site at 80 miles per hour. Not knowing what terrain is coming
up next. You could speed away and be OK or you could crash and burn. That s the adrenaline rush you
get when you ride a dirtbike. Dirtbiking is an exciting, adrenaline pumping sport. Dirtbiking is also a
sport enjoyed by many people all over the world. To get involved in dirtbiking you have to race in the
right age group. You also have to know what size dirtbike is right for you. Next, you need to know
what kind of race you want to participate in, depending on your interests. Last, some of the
modifications that have taken place over the years are also interesting.
First of all, if you plan on racing a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dirtbike sizes vary from a weak 50cc engine, to the mighty, powerful 600cc engine. There are also
many different brands of dirtbikes. Some of the main brands are Honda, Yamaha,
Kawasaki, Suzuki, and KTM, so you might want to do a little research on them before you buy one.
Of course, if you are not into going fast and jumping in the motocross races there are different kinds
of races. The first actual motocross race was held in the late 60s. One other kind of race is an enduro
race. In these races you have to go long distances and usually travel at night. Another race is a
blackwater race. In these races you need a big bike, at least 250cc. You go through rivers, thick
forests, and small obstacles like fallen logs. The last race is called trials. In these races you must have
balance. You go over many difficult obstacles like boulders and enormous logs. You cant put your feet
on the ground, also the bikes have no seat!
Lastly, dirtbiking is always changing. Imagine an old clunky looking dirtbike and compare it to a new,
fast dirtbike. Dirtbikes today are safer too.
For example, bikes now a days have rev limiters so the dirtbike doesn t blow up.
The older dirtbikes had small dual shocks in the back, steel frames, and were very heavy. Now a days
we have one big mono shock in the back, computer designed exhaust pipes, which give it more power,
now there are even aluminum frames.
Dirtbikes have sure come a long way over the

Dystopian Fiction Argumentative Essay
Why do authors write dystopian fiction? Authors write dystopian fiction so they can warn us about the

If you watch close, history does nothing but repeat itself.
What we call chaos is just patterns we haven t recognized. (Chuck Palahniuk, Survivor). This quote is
linked to my reason, because it tells you straight up that history is just patterns and cahs is history
coming back to haunt us. Although history has a reputation for repeating itself, some people also
believe you can t predict the future.
Many people believe you can t predict the future. People look at it like, somebody can just one day say
the world is going to end tomorrow and wake up dead the next morning. That doesn t happen! Yes this
is true, but however, You can predict the future. Yes I agree that somebody just can t show up to work
today and say the world is going to end tomorrow, just s they can get paid leave tomorrow. It takes
science, you look at history and compare that to current events. Sometimes you can even do it through
your dreams. Prophetic dreams, also called precognitive dreams, do not occur much, if at all, so you
will have to be vigilant when it comes to remembering and reading your dreams (wikihow.com)This
quote proves my rebuttal, because Prophetic dreams are dreams that predict the future, but you are
lucky if you even have one, but if you do, then you don t get them very often. So now that you know
that the future is predictable, did you also know the author throws hidden messages into the story to
remind us why they are writing the story, to warn us about

In many emerging markets, a number of studies have also emerged which examine whether the
initiatives of corporate governance have led to an improvement in the quality of financial reporting
and whether these initiatives have been effective in tackling the problem of earnings management.
Shen and Chih (2007), for example, find in nine Asian countries that firms with good corporate
governance tend to conduct less earnings management. Also, In India, Sarkar et al. (2008) show that
diligent boards are associated with lowers earnings manipulation. Additionally, in Jordan, Al khabash

In particular, this paper examines the roles board, audit committee, board size, and number of board

Examples Of The Affiliate Model
2.4.4.4. The Affiliate Model
This model consists in selling product(s) or service(s) not created by the company, generating revenue
through a commission. To give some examples to understand how the model works: Airbnb the
company which connects customers and providers of places in different cities worldwide, doesn t sell
any product or service, their business consists in connecting people and getting a commission for the
usage of their website to enable this relation. Skyscanner gives the customer multiple options to book

they do work based on commissions with the airlines to promote and display their ticket prices for

The idea would be to charge a commission value for each sale (cost per acquisition), as a broker (as

Impact Of Slavery On African American Literature
Voices of Freedom: Slavery s impact on African American Literature In the early to mid nineteenth
century, America found itself divided over the issue of slavery. The culture, traditions, and economy of
southern states depended heavily on slave labor, while the northern states opposed the institution of
slavery. Even though the slave trade was declared illegal in the early nineteenth century, slavery itself
was not illegalized until more than a half century later. Abolitionists used powerful anti slavery
writings as a way to fight against slavery. During this time, African American literature emerged with
a distinct focus on black culture within the larger American society. These authors and their writings

abuse and the heartache felt by slave mothers whose children were taken from them. Often slave
narratives were deemed fictional by the white American public. These autobiographies were

endorsements from famous abolitionists confirming the story s authenticity. Some slave narratives
were penned by authors referring to themselves as Himself or Herself. Jacobs was forced to write

female slaves struggled with sexual harassment and their efforts to protect their identities as women

writer whose literature was influenced by slavery was Phillis Wheatley. She was kidnapped from

opiate stupor he begins to imagine some supernatural agency that only he has perceived to be
responsible for the final demise of his current wife. And after the death he begins to imagine a
reviving of the corpse where in the end just as the dawn approaches he beholds his beloved Ligeia

So it is that the main themes in both of these works are those of obsession, death and the guilt of the
survivor. How each approaches this and evokes the mood in the reader is remarkably different.
In Ligeia the narrator begins his tale in a crumbling city on the
Rhine, immediately evoking thoughts of the old world, this is emphasised almost straight away as he
describes his departed love. He compares her with the goddesses of the

Advanced Directive Essay
Tennessee law on advanced directives is a document that tells your family, friends, and doctors on
how you want to be treated in an emergency. Advance directive can be a document or a living will in
which you state the plan of care when you are no longer able to communicate treatment choices or
decision. Advance directives is not only for the elderly but it can be at any age even if you are not sick
at the time of the document. This document list the details of treatment that you want implemented if a
serious incident was to happen. It would tell what interventions should be used in your care. Some of
the choices would include a full status code where the patient wants CPR or a do not resistant code
can be used for treatment. The client can also have the option of limited interventions with each code
status. It would include artificial ventilation or artificial feeding and any type of tubes associated with
your treatment. The client can also be specific if he or she wants just medical treatment only including
the use of drug therapy. In this paper, we will look at Tennessee law and various ... Show more content

Every person except one did not know what an advanced directive states. The only interview that
knew what I was asking was because they had just lost a loved one and their family was going through
the situation. There were five children in the family. They had two children as execrator of the will
and one child as a healthcare power of attorney. Before the death, the client states to have a full code
with no artificial nutrient or ventilation. They only sought out partial interventions which made their
status a code C. During this time the patient coded, and the wishes the client states stood strong.
Therefore, it is so important to have an advance directive on file or with the next of kin. You never
know when this time will happen but you can be proactive, and be prepared for any situation to

Protest On The Protest
On August 14, Colin Kaepernick, a San Francisco 49ers quarterback, sat during the national anthem.
Before anyone really noticed, he sat the following two games as well, then it finally became viral. It
wasn t laziness that caused him to sit, nor an injury, but a peaceful protest. Kaepernick sat to protest
rampant police brutality and injustice against black people in the United States. This protest became a
topic widely debated during the presidential election, and eventually when drafting season came
around for football, Kaepernick was blackballed from joining any teams because of this controversy.
The American people had a lot to say about how protest should be peaceful without disrespect, which
they say Colin could have had avoided doing, but they fail to realize that protest isn t supposed to
cater to your convenience. Protest is a fundamental right Americans have. Whether it be walkouts
from schools or marching in the streets, protest is effective when it s done en mass, and what better
way to get the message out than on TV, where millions of Americans tune in to watch beefy men
throw an egg shaped ball around.
Primarily, people came to the initial conclusion that Kaepernick sitting for the anthem is incredibly
disrespectful to the U.S. soldiers currently fighting right now and those who have died in battle. The
most popular saying being Soldiers died for that flag! However, the flag does not represent the
military in any fashion. In fact, the U.S. army actually has

Globalization of Levi Strauss
Globalization of Levi Strauss amp; Co. LaDonna Williams May 24, 2010 Globalization is a necessary
evil that allows business to make huge profits and third world countries to begin creating a free market
economy. While it seems that globalization may be a solution to the problem of poverty and starvation
for some people, it may also contribute to issues such as child labor, discrimination, exploitation and
health and safety issues for people working in developing countries. Since U.S. laws do not apply to
American companies operating in foreign countries, these companies have an ethical responsibility to
create codes of conduct to govern the way they treat people and conduct business overseas. Levi

For example, many western cultures may view child labor as a necessary, and accepted, source of
income for many families, but many Americans and other western cultures see child labor as abuse.
When Levi Strauss amp; Co. learned that two of its suppliers were using child labor in Bangladesh,
they had a moral dilemma. The families of the working children relied heavily on their incomes, so
firing them might create a major hardship on the children and their families, or even force the children
to look for more inhumane sources of income, such as prostitution or begging (Solomon, 1996). LS
amp;Co. looked for more creative ways to solve the problem, and came up with a solution that would
benefit everyone. Their suppliers agreed to continue paying the children under age 14 while they
attended school, and LS amp;Co. paid for tuition, books and uniforms, then when the children turned
14, they could be rehired by the company (Solomon, 1996). This solution created no financial
hardship for the children and families who would otherwise lose their income, and allowed them to
receive an education, as children should. Levi Strauss amp; Co. has also faced other ethical issues
overseas, and taken a responsible approach to resolving the problem. In 1998, for example, they
decided to close the factories in Belgium, but worried that the loss of over 1,000 jobs might devastate
the Belgian economy. In order to avoid financial hardship for the community, and stimulate

Ancient Indian Civilization
ANCIENT INDIAN CIVILIZATION
INTRODUCTION
In the 1920s, a huge discovery in South Asia proved that Egypt and Mesopotamia were not the only
early civilizations. In the vast Indus River plains (located in what is today Pakistan and western India),
under layers of land and mounds of dirt, archaeologists discovered the remains of a 4,600 year old
city. A thriving, urban civilization had existed at the same time as Egyptian and Mesopotamian states
in an area twice each of their sizes. The Indian civilization is one of the most ancient civilizations of
the world. It is known as the Sindhu civilization or the Indus Valley civilization or the Aryan
civilization. Sometimes it is also referred to as the Vedic civilization.

CLIMATE
Climate was an ingredient in early Indian civilizations for several reasons. Monsoons, winds that mark
the seasons, are one of the most immediate. The first monsoon of the season blows from North to
Northeast periodically during November through March. Little rain is present during this monsoon,
however what precipitation does fall, it falls on the Northern slope of the Himilayas. During mid June
through October a second monsoon indicates the Wet Season a.k.a. the southwest monsoon. Following
the southwest monsoon, heavy rains fall in its wake (however sparse rainfall falls on the Western
Ghats, the heaviest rainfull occours over the Ganges Valley and the Eastern Himilayan Mountains).
The timing of these winds is critical; too little or too late rainfall results in an unsuccessful harvest, yet
too much or an extended period of rainfall causes flooding along the country side. Temperatures also
play a significant role in how Indian s settled the land in anchient times. The ideal area the Deccan
plateau had mild temperatures in the summer opposed to the blistering heat of the Western Ghats and
valleys which could climb up to one hundred twenty degrees farenheit.
The annual rainfall in the Indus region varies between 5 and 20 inches (125 to 500 millimeters).
Except for the mountainous section of Pakistan, the Indus valley lies in the driest part of the
subcontinent. Northwestern winds

Graphene Structure, Physical Properties, And Fabrication...
1.3 Graphene structure, physical properties, and fabrication methods
1.3.1 Graphene structure
In 2004, two scientists prepared the graphene, a single planar layer of graphite, which has a double
carbon atoms bonds. Each carbon atom joins itself with three atoms by strong σ covalent bonds, the
strong carbon carbon bonding granted graphene a rigid structure. With four valence electrons, each
carbon atom can contribute one unbounded electron to form π bonds above the plane of the carbon
sheet. Graphene layers arrange as hexagons and every hexagon is completely surrounded by other
hexagons that are packed in a honeycomb crystal lattice as shown in Figure ‎
1 3. Their thickness is
about one atom thick [6] and their bond length in the range of 0.142nm[7][8]. Thus, in 1 mm thick
graphite, there are about 3 million graphene sheets[9]. The 2010 Nobel Prize in physics has been
awarded to the two scientists: Andre Geim and Konstantin Novoselov from University of Manchester
(UK) for their research in graphene discovery. Also, the surface area of the single sheet is 2630 m2/g

This sheet is the most interesting form of carbon allotropes which promises to be a super material due
to its super properties. Graphene is the mother of other carbon allotropes as shown in Figure ‎

In the 20th century the United States saw a massive increase and development in technologies.
Technologies in the 20th century greatly affected these three fields. Everyday work got affected
largely with industries and corporations becoming more mechanized causing a change in skills and the
reduction of workers. The introduction of commodities changed American lives with now more
entertainment and new luxuries which increased quality of life and added great convenience to the

he finally seems himself. Equality wants to see his own image because, his entire life he has never

says, We sat still and we held our breath. For our face and our body were beautiful. Our face was not
like the faces of our brothers, for we felt no pity when looking upon it. Our body was not like the
bodies of our brothers, for our limbs were straight and thin and hard and strong. And we thought that
we could trust this being who looked upon us from the stream, and that we had nothing to fear with

never received the chance to find out what kind of person he was when he was young, so now that he
is older he wants to know more about himself. He falls in love with Liberty the first time he sees her,

Significance of the Night of the Long Knives for Hitler s Power
In the interwar years of 1933 to 1939, Europe saw the rise of Nazi Germany, which was to become the
capstone of the inter war period, and led to the eruption of World War II, shattering the fragile peace
overseen by the League of Nations. But how did a party that was in a state of political decline manage
this? The Nazi regime s advancement was paralleled by the life of its leader, Adolf Hitler, who
perfected his oratorical skills and worked for the advancement of the Nazi party. Such advancement
was slow in coming through the years 1925 to 1929, a fairly stable period in Europe. However, as the
world became hindered in depression ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is evidence to prove that the Nazis themselves had set the fire, but in any case, this event had
appropriate timing which furthered the Nazi election campaign concerning the Communist Threat .
Hitler used the incident to persuade Hindenburg to restrict all individual rights and declare that the
central government could oust any state government failing to maintain order. With the Decree of the
Reich President for the Protection of People and State, Hitler could justify his actions under the
Decree by saying that it was a state of emergency and that it would be repealed when the emergency
passed. However it was never repealed while the Nazis were in power. With the powers that this gave
to the Nazis, the Reichstag Fire Decree was, in effect, the foundation of Nazi rule. The decree led to
the legal persecution of political rivals, such as members of the Communist party, the KPD.
Even so, the Nazis only won 43.9 percent of the electorate vote in 1933. To gain a two thirds majority
needed to pass the Enabling law, (the cornerstone of Nazi power) Hitler formed an alliance with the
Nationalist party, and declared the communist party illegal. The Catholic Centre Party voluntarily
liquidated itself when a deal was struck between Hitler and the Pope,

The Common Psychiatric Disorder ( Bipolar Disorder )
As one of the more common psychiatric disorders, as well as the most complex, Bipolar disorder is the
leading causal factor of functional disability in which aberrations of mood are found in correlation
with changes in behaviors, biological rhythms, and cognitive functions; being amongst the most
severe of all psychological disorders, with the highest rates of homelessness, suicide, and
hospitalization, as it concerns an estimated 2 4% of the population within then United State alone. For
mania, in the year following hospitalization, often scarcer than 35% of those diagnosed will ever
resume a station within the workforce. Unfortunately, statistically, those inflicted with bipolar disorder
are 25% 50% more like to attempt suicide and 11% more apt to follow through. As a rather elusive
psychiatric disorder, the promise of a prevention verses cure has proven to be quite limited, given the
extraordinary complexity of the illness. Prior to the inception of the illness, given one s predisposition,
diversity, and non specific range of hazards for said disorder; intervention, generally, has not been
very effective. The pragmatic porthole of prospect concerning early intervention is during the first
episode of illness, where the neuroanatomical, neuropsychological, clinical, and functional
consequences of the illness s progression are at a minimal. The earlier the intervention, the greater the

The story of Toronto in recent decades is often framed by the rapid economy growth. And Toronto has
been named to many best of lists for living quality, safety, and creativity. But this economic boom and
wealth have not been evenly distributed across all regions of the city. While Toronto is normally
considered as a safer city, significant crime does seriously occur in many neighborhoods. I visited the

This neighborhood has seen a severe declination and deterioration in living quality which results in the
loss of the middle class. Many scholars have suggested that factors such as the change in the modern
thinking of living, population flow, and government policies can lead to this declination and
deterioration of the Markham and Lawrence neighborhood. The flight of middle class has left this
neighborhood with social disadvantage and marginalized population such as recent immigrants, single
parent families, and racialized people who were unable to receive affordable accommodations
elsewhere. In fact, people fail to improve their living quality due to the social segregation of poverty.
In addition, it draws evidence on the issue of urban inequality in public housing, poverty
concentration, and gentrification. Theoretically, the perception of urban inequality is not only about
the low economic status, working class displacement and ethnic heterogeneity, but rather the quality
of street spectacles, housing, and residential stability that lead to the current condition of higher crime
rate. Toronto has become increasingly polarized. Referring to Hulchanski s analysis on the Toronto s
three cities, the Markham and Lawrence neighborhood locates in the City#3 zone. Hulchanski has
indicated the current demographic and social trend that Toronto is dividing into three cities internally
due to the Social Spatial Polarization and the shrinking of the middle

No Model For Girls By Fiona Bawdon
The Fight to Look Flawless
Beauty standards in America are always changing and continuously on the rise due to society s
constant obsession with the perfect body image. This image is built upon the things we see in movies,
television shows, and magazines, which causes girls to feel the need to look flawless and set far
fetched goals for their physical appearance. Today s era marks tall, skinny and flawless faces as
beautiful, and if girls don t have any of these attributes, they truly believe that they aren t as beautiful
and will do whatever it takes in order to obtain that beauty. In today s ever so demanding society,

As defined by Merriam Webster, the definition of Photoshop is as follows: to alter (a digital image)
with Photoshop software or other image editing software especially in a way that distorts reality (as
for deliberately deceptive purposes) . Even the definition states that Photoshop distorts reality, yet
girls still think that models have the ideal body image. The real reality is that models set an
unattainable and unrealistic way for girls to look like. In No Model For Girls by Fiona Bawdon, the
author explores how models and Photoshop can negatively affect adolescent girls body image. The
author states that, magazine images are routinely airbrushed: thighs slimmed, wrinkles smoothed and
blemishes removed (29). How are adolescent girls not supposed to feel self conscious and compare
themselves to models when, in with a touch of Photoshop, models can look skinnier, have a flawless
face, and appear more beautiful? Another startling statistic that was in the same study conducted by
Marium Javaid and Iftikhar Ahmad, was that actresses and models had 10 15% less body fat whereas
the average body fat for healthy women is 22 26% (30). This displays just how extremely thin and
unrealistic these models are. The body fat for a healthy woman is 22 26%, yet girls still see
themselves as fat and continue to try and lose weight. This trend is growing more popular in today s
society, however, girls need to understand the importance of not comparing their own bodies to other
people. It is an unnecessary and potentially harmful comparison to

love and compassion when they are needed. Poussin´s painting has the same show of emotion that a
king needs and that King Louis XIV has. Nadera Suleiman said, ¨Control of emotions or lack of

weak king would try to stop this mixing from happening, thinking that he will loose his people to new

Speech On Entrepreneurs
Black business owners don t need to be your favorite people, nor do they even need to be your friend.
The other side doesn t accept us or love us, but we will run to support them because we re obsessed
with acceptance. Who says their label/brand is fly? All so you can think you re doing and looking
better than the rest of the barrel? Entrepreneurs are no martyrs, we just know what we re willing to put
in to get to where we want to go and who we want to become. If you ve ever had any semblance of a
real conversation with me, you know a real question I ask is this, If you could wake up tomorrow and
be/do whatever you want to do, what would it be? after you answer, I follow up with, Why aren t you
doing that? after that answer, I follow up with this, With what you make at your job now, would you
quit if your dream job or career paid you the same exact thing? If you have to hesitate to answer yes to
that question, leave being self employed alone because your passion would have made you jump out
the window for it.
Listen to yourself, trust yourself and understand that you ll be driven to depression way more times
than you ll be happy. Paying the cost to be the boss has nothing to do with money; it s the price of
your soul, social life, and mental health. If you ever tell yourself that you have to sacrifice in order to
achieve your entrepreneurial goals, then you re fucking lying and should be a good person and get a
job. The only sacrifice in this life is doing anything that keeps you away from your ultimate goal.
Most people don t have the temperament to be an entrepreneur, why do you think bosses are such
assholes? They (should) know everyone else s job inside out, plus their own while managing everyone
s day to day. I think like most things in society, people play entrepreneur for the title or how it
somehow makes them appear, but again, it s actually miserable. Being an entrepreneur means mostly
any everything that takes your attention away from work will piss you off. I ll be at a party texting
myself everything I d rather be doing on my laptop. And that may seem extreme but I have a healthy
obsession with my goals. I say healthy because it s derived from love passion of creating.

Freud s Worst Nightmare Perfect Sex Dream
In her article, author Barbra Creed discusses a wide range of theories and assumptions on Freud and
his relation to modern cinema, memories, and the development of the original horror film. She begins
by describing Freud and his obsession with horror. She briefly mentions some of his case histories that
entail themes of sexual abuse, hysteria, bestiality, phobias, and perversity, but primarily continues to
inform us of his hatred of cinema. Considering Freud was born in 1856, he was just reaching his mid
50 s when early cinema really took off. Films and movies became the forefront of entertainment, the
must see attraction by audiences across the country, and the newest daring art form. This was,
however, an art form that Sir Sigmund Freud wanted nothing to do with. Despite having several films
be inspired by his theories and writings, Freud refused to become involved with films and filmmaking,
and even avoided being captured on camera in his daughter s home videos. The reason for this hatred
however, is neglected and left questionable by Creed.
The author points out that early cinema was known for stretching the boundaries on narrative
filmmaking by incorporating elements of sex, desire, and eroticism, which were, of course, main
focuses of Freud s countless writings. She continues her analysis by efficiently describing the modern
self and the divided self: two

history of Friendship House, a unique, little known piece of historical architecture in my home town,
and tell the story of how it came to be at the college, while raising awareness of this one of a kind
landmark in my area. Friendship House is the last surviving Tidewater Maryland home, a style of
house that was built all along the Potomac in colonial Maryland. in 1766, Friendship House in
particular was built by Warren Dent, a member of an upper class Maryland family, on a tract of land
that would come to be known as Friendship Landing. The property was passed down through the Dent
family until 1816, when Friendship House was sold to the

Essay on An Analysis of Culture in Things Fall Apart
The novel Things Fall Apart written by Chinua Achebe, is a tale based on the traditional beliefs and
customs of an Ibo village during late 1800 s Africa. Through the telling of this story, we witness the
remarkable depth of Igbo culture through its functions of religion, politics, judiciary and
entertainment. One of Achebe s challenges was to illustrate the Ibo s religious system. Even though
the Ibo people had little contact with the outside world, they had developed their own beliefs and
practices that became essential elements in their everyday lives. The Ibo religion played a role in the
way they raised their families, communicated, entertained, and governed their society. Similar to those
of the early Egyptian and Greek religions, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As well as maintaining good morals and values, the Ibo people further connected with their gods and
ancestors through the act of sacrifice. The Ibo people would sacrifice anything from fruit, small
animals and in some instances, people. On page 17, Unoka explains that, before I put any crop in the
earth, I sacrifice a cock to Ani, the owner of all land. It is the law of our fathers. I also kill a cock at
the shrine of Ifejioku, the god of yams. Although some of the practices of the Ibo religion may seem
harsh, its primary goal is to maintain a peaceful and just society. Just as the Ibo celebrate religion with
their gods, they also celebrate with each other. Later on page 97, Tortoise explains that he has,
...learned that a man who makes trouble for others is also making it for himself, which demonstrates
how the Ibo people followed principles similar to that of the golden rule found in many other religions
of the time. Achebe also illustrates the Ibo judiciary and political system throughout the entire story.
Similar to those in other cultures, the Ibo people had a very structured social order. In the beginning of
the story on page 18, Achebe describes Nwakibie s status in the Ibo village by stating he, ...had taken

If you are dealing with a chronic condition and want to stay hydrated, avoid the use of processed

Your diet plays a very important role in pain management, especially if your pain is chronic. Some of
the foods you consume on a daily basis could aggravate chronic pain and should be avoided. Junk
food, for example, can increase inflammation.

Literary Techniques Of Mark Twain
Mark twain was an aspiring author during the late 19th century. He wrote many story s that created a
variety of emotions between the people who read them from his broad irreverent humor, biting social
satire to his up forth hatred of hypocrisy and oppression. During this literary time period twain wrote
about realism, relating to what was going on and what he witnessed around him or writing how
something actually is instead of covering it up, which was one of his best qualities causing a lot of
people to ban and dislike his work. Two of Twain s best works that really speak for how he wrote that
will be discussed are The Adventures of Tom sawyer and The Adventures of huckleberry Fin .

The Adventure of Tom Sawyer was one of Twains most loved writings and little Tom was one of his
most beloved characters. Based by the Mississippi river, young Tom and his friends constantly get in
trouble testing the whole town s patience. This story is very fun to read for its humorous tone that
Twain was so natural at producing in his works. Some literary techniques Twains uses are irony and
satire which gives his stories real character and personality. Some examples of his satire are T aint
thunder.... They done that last summer .... Somebody s drowned these examples show all the
characteristic s is satire which make the book so much more in character as he is criticizing how Tom
and his friends speak and pointing out their lack in education, it helps readers understand the time
period and lifestyle of the characters. As mentioned earlier, Twain was very big on humor and making
his story s fun and interesting. Here is an example of a humorous irony But Tom Sawyer haunted me

Reflection Of A Theoretical Orientation
A theoretical orientation is the model used to describe a client s behavior, tendencies and personality.
Therapists can t approach and find explanations of behavior or personality in the same manner due to
the difference in client issues, diagnoses, and symptoms. Although different in nature each theoretical
orientation consists of the general themes that can be seen and utilized universally. As a counselor, it is
important to develop and have sense of which theoretical orientation works best for you and the type
of clientele that you will be servicing. While it may be a challenge to pick one theoretical orientation
and stick to it due to the vast variety, it is important that you incorporate your background, values,
religious beliefs, as well as a host of other factors into your decision to ensure that that orientation can
be utilized properly.
So what is theoretical orientation? First and foremost, in my opinion, your TO is one of the most
important decisions you will make as a counselor. TO provides the framework and guiding principles
with regard to how a therapist will organize treatment, and provide the client with the necessary
information to have a positive and successful relationship and outcomes in counseling. TO assimilates
different points of views into a cohesive approach. TO consist of concepts, ideas, and insight into a
clients behaviors and how to effectively deal with them based on past research and outcomes. They
provide understanding on how a person s

Analysis Of The Book Affluenza How Overconsumption Is...
Today, Americans live in a world where we are constantly encouraged to keep up with the Joneses
whether it be from advertisment, longer shopping hours, or multiple other factors. A surprising statistic
you can find in the book, Affluenza: How overconsumption is killing us and how to fight back, where
it states that 70 percent of us visit malls each week, more than attended houses of worship (15).
Shopping has become so convenient in recent years due to online stores, as well as the growing
number of shopping centers, that it s become a problem. Kalle Lasn, co founder of the magazine
Adbusters and starter of the Occupy Movement, believes that, Overconsumption is the mother of all of
our environment problems (197). Consumers have come to see shopping as a fun activity while
spending time with friends or family. When really over consumption of material goods ultimately
leads us to unhappiness, the unsatisfied desire to want more, and possibly put you into debt. The
amount of malls and stores we have in America has without a doubt contributed in our over
consumption of material goods. Our society has come to the point where shopping and consumer
goods are more important than higher education. For example, we spend more on shoes, jewelry, and
watches than on higher education. . . . In 1986, America still had more high schools than shopping
centers. Less than twenty years later, in 2005, we had more than twice as many shopping centers
(46,438) as high schools

Revenant Movie Vs Book
Is the desire for revenge a basic component of human nature? The highly awarded movie The
Revenant is an epic story of Hugh Glass s mission to seek revenge on those who had wronged him.
The movie teaches many important life lessons, but they differ significantly in comparison to the book
it s based on. Not only does the story teach important lessons, it is a notable legend in American
folklore. The motion picture rendition of Michael Punke s book The Revenant changes the meaning of
the book because despite the similarities in the characters and the initial storyline the ending scene
redefines the book. The movie was able to portray the charter of Hugh Glass with uncanny accuracy to
how he was depicted in the book. Both the movie and book ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In both stories, Glass plays an important role in the trapping expedition that he is on. In the beginning
of the movie Glass is a guide for a return trip to a nearby fort after a successful trapping mission.
Similarly, in the novel, Glass is a guide on an expedition to inhabit a formerly abandoned fort. This is
a critical portion of the story because it is the first action that eventually develops the story into the
epic tale that it is. Another important aspect that both the book and film have is the conflict with the
ruthless native Ree tribe. In the book, the Ree tribe was intent on killing all the white settlers along the
Grand River. In comparison to the movie in which the Ree were killing American trappers along the
Grand River in an attempt to find the chief s missing daughter. The most significant section of the
book was when Glass was brutally mauled by ta bear. The book had a very detailed account of Glass
running into a large sow with her two cubs, and Glass was able to shoot the sow from close range as it
barreled towards him. The movie took a more theatrical approach with Glass being initially knocked
to the ground and mauled by the bear and then after it came back for a second attack he shot it.
Despite the discrepancies, both have a large sow accompanied by two cubs, and the cubs are the first
thing that he sees. Additionally, despite Glass s different initial run in with the bear he still shoots it as
it charges him for it to later die and fall on top of him. After being severely injured Glass is left behind
with John Fitzgerald and Jim Bridger. The book has the two abandon the camp to avoid being detected
by a Ree hunting party that is near their campsite and in the process, they take all of Glass s
possessions. The movie has the exact same thing happen except there was not an actual Ree hunting
party. Instead, Fitzgerald made up the lie so he could convince

  • 3. Comparing The Story Of The Old Testament And The New... Utilizing the understanding of the later definition make is extremely easier to incorporate the narrative of the Old Testament and the New Testament into one chronicle event moving along the time line to teach and understand the mission of the church. It follows the events of knowing the story and where the church came from and where it is headed. Clearly the church is not complete as Jesus has not returned so the work is still on going. The story continues to be written. Christians today, just as the Jewish people did back during the times of the Old Testament, need to know the story and to do that we need to know the scriptures. The question comes down to how the Old Testament and the New Testament would be formed into one narrative to accomplish the goal of enhancing the understanding of the mission of the church. To accomplish this task, I believe Christopher Wright, in his book, summarized the task very well. If one looks at the Bible from an actual story line the flow from one Testament to the other does exactly that; it flows. The Old Testament points to the New Testament and the New Testament builds upon the Old Testament. The four major sections of the biblical story are Creation, Fall, Redemption in History, and New Creation . If people begin to think in terms of the Biblical story from Genesis through Revelation and the realization that the story is not over, it will be simpler to understand how all the time eras in the Bible relate to each other and ... Kodak and Fujifilm Assignment 1: Kodak And Fujifilm Laura Renee Baxter Management 302 Milton Lawler, Ph.D. Strayer University January 23,2013 Abstract Both Kodak and Fujifilm are companies that focused on photography and imaging as their core businesses. Despite Kodak having an upper hand of starting earlier than Fujifilm, 1888 compared to 1934, Fujifilm adapted more to market changes and currently still has a force to reckon. Kodak is currently in bankruptcy protection since January 2012 under Chapter 11 with a bid to try and reconfigure its business strategies. The difference in management strategies plays a key role in the way the two companies embraced innovation. Complacency and slow adaptation dominated in Kodak Company while Fujifilm ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The foreseen change to digital technology close to 20 years later was seen as a far off date that the company could lag in its then success. In the recent years, however, Kodak tried to realign its management strategy in embracing innovation. First was its approach to move from the one company one town scenario to the realistic competitive world. The previous model in which the company got feedback was insufficient to acknowledge the preferences of global consumers. The shift to delocalize research and collect data helped Kodak gather more consumer preferences in order to keep at par with innovation. Acquiring a more diversified top level management and having a more democratic management style helped it to assign variously qualified staff in their areas of expertise. This ensured best skill input in each field and ensured the implementation of staff suggestion and ideas that would foster business (Williams, 2013). Kodak s management finally had to accept the decline of their core business area of focus, film, and diversify into various other fields to keep it afloat business. Over the years, the company has interchangeably dropped and picked other businesses that included digital cameras, printing, and imaging. The area current area of focus under the latest chief executive, Antonio Perez, is digital printing. The last move in the past one year to file for Chapter 11 of the US to protect the ... • 5. Wang Lung s Filial Dishonesty In The Good Earth The Good Earth is set in pre revolutionary rural China when women are inferior and elders are most important. Those who treat their daughters as equals and do not practice filial piety are considered outcasts. This is also a time when a man s life revolves around the Earth. Food is grown from the Earth and clothes are sewn from crops because nothing is made in a factory. Religion is based on Gods watching over the land. People also believe that the Gods will curse a bad man and reward a good one. Sometimes he sells his crops when they are still in the ground because reaping the harvests strip too much effort from the idle fool. Since he does not make much money from his harvests, he blames it on bad luck and depends on Lung for money. Since society operates in filial piety, Wang Lung has to give his uncle the money. Lung s uncle also participates in gang violence and cannibalism. He is not rewarded by the Gods. He did, however, have wealth and power by living in the House of Hwang with Wang Lung but only because Lung has to obey him. Lung s uncle never finds tranquility. He is never content with what he has. He is always striving for more in vicious and idle ways which cause his unfulfilling life. Wang Lung s cousin is also idle and vicious. He never learns to work and is very lusty. When he lives with Wang Lung s family, he introduces Lung s eldest son to prostitutes. He also flirts with his relatives and practices incest. She published multiple novels on a variety of areas including female criminality, international issues in crime, piracy, drug abuse, and social control theories. On the other hand, Cesare Beccaria was an italian criminologist, jurist, philosopher and politician. He had a profound influence on the Founding Fathers of the United States. He was well remembered for his treatise On Crimes and Punishments. Freda s theory explains that more women are starting to participate in more crimes because they are now being introduced into a man s world and it is more accepted to do things that a male can do. Also that the fight for women s equality has increased the rate of violence and crime committed by women. The basis of Cesare s theory is free will, rational manner, and manipulability. Free will enables people to make choices, good or bad. Freda believes in more feminist theories. She believes that gender is a central organizing component of social life including criminal offending, victimization, and criminal justice processing. She also believes that the movement for women s equality consequently coincided with the dramatic upsurge in women s criminal activity. It is the mascot that represents the competitive spirit and team identity, motivating players and fans alike. Does the symbol chosen as a mascot have any impact on whether a team wins or loses? Unlikely. But the choice of a Native American mascot continues to ignite debate and controversy among athletes, fans and alumni, as well as those people who might otherwise be disinterested in sports. Why all the controversy? The dispute over whether Native American mascots should be used as a team symbol dates back to the 1970 s (Price 2). Thus, it seems odd to suggest that naming a team after an Indian tribe is a calculated insult. A team or school embraces a mascot that represents the favorable traits and characteristics of its members. Such is the case with the Florida State Seminoles, who are named after a tribe with its origin in that southern state. The Seminole tribe optimistically favored the use of the Indian mascot and even facilitated the design of authentic dress that is proudly worn at sporting and community events. Similar to the Seminoles, the University of Illinois preserved their mascot, Chief Illiniwek, for almost 80 years. Named after the indigenous Illiniwek tribe, the Chief was a customary sideline figure at football and basketball games until 2007 when the NCAA forced the University of Illinois to remove this historic mascot. Unfortunately, the collegiate governing body failed to realize what this symbol meant to the collegiate Illinois community. Illini students were polled regarding the action and a majority disapproved of the decision. Sixty nine percent of the students voted to keep Chief Illiniwek as their mascot. (Haugh). These students believed that removing Chief Illiniwek as the University of Illinois mascot would diminish the passion associated with their university. Analyzing And Testing Low Pass Filters For Anti Aliasing Digital Audio Technology Filter Testing and ADC Filter Report Analysing and Testing Low Pass Filters for Anti Aliasing 1 INTRODUCTION 1.1 AIMS The aim of this lab is to test the response and characteristics of an undefined filter circuit. This report will present the data collected in the lab sessions, interpret this data and discuss the filter s suitability for use in an anti aliasing circuit in an analogue to digital converter (ADC). 1.2 ANALOGUE TO DIGITAL CONVERSION AND ALIASING ADCs are used to convert analogue signals to digital signals so that they can be processed by digital systems such as a computer. This is particularly relevant to audio recording because signals from recording equipment, such as microphones and electronic instruments, are in an analogue format, and must be converted to a digital format in order to be processed by a digital audio workstation (DAW) on a computer. Analogue electrical signals are continuous , meaning that data can take an infinite number of values between the maximum and minimum voltages. There are also an infinite number of steps on the time scale and so data at any moment in time can take any value within the scale. Sound travels through air via changes in air pressure and can be represented by sound pressure level (SPL); this is a continuous scale and so the pressure can be any value at any given moment in time. When sound is processed by a transducer, such as a microphone, these changes in SPL are replicated by changing the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Saffron proved to be an equally important trade because of the high value that was placed on it. Slavery not only played a key factor then, but would do so in centuries to follow as well. The SR promoted the influence of Christianity, mostly because its final destination was Rome. After the Roman Emperor Constantine converted to Christianity, a large portion of Rome did so as well, resulting in Rome becoming a Catholic state. After many goods arrived in Rome, from places as far as China, cultural diffusion occurred as a result. Also, the Crusaders influenced the road as they ventured on recapturing Jursalem. Of course, if you are not into going fast and jumping in the motocross races there are different kinds of races. The first actual motocross race was held in the late 60s. One other kind of race is an enduro race. In these races you have to go long distances and usually travel at night. Another race is a blackwater race. Dystopian fiction is ...a genre of fictional writing used to explore social and political structures in a dark, nightmare world. The term dystopia is defined as a society characterized by poverty, squalor or oppression and the theme is most commonly used in science fiction and speculative fiction genres (www.questia.com). What we call chaos is just patterns we haven t recognized. (Chuck Palahniuk, Survivor). This quote is linked to my reason, because it tells you straight up that history is just patterns and cahs is history coming back to haunt us. Although history has a reputation for repeating itself, some people also believe you can t predict the future. Many people believe you can t predict the future. People look at it like, somebody can just one day say the world is going to end tomorrow and wake up dead the next morning. That doesn t happen! Yes this is true, but however, You can predict the future. Yes I agree that somebody just can t show up to work today and say the world is going to end tomorrow, just s they can get paid leave tomorrow. It takes science, you look at history and compare that to current events. Sometimes you can even do it through your dreams. Prophetic dreams, also called precognitive dreams, do not occur much, if at all, so you will have to be vigilant when it comes to remembering and reading your dreams (wikihow.com)This quote proves my rebuttal, because Prophetic dreams are dreams that predict the future, but you are lucky if you even have one, but if you do, then you don t get them very often. Each carbon atom joins itself with three atoms by strong σ covalent bonds, the strong carbon carbon bonding granted graphene a rigid structure. With four valence electrons, each carbon atom can contribute one unbounded electron to form π bonds above the plane of the carbon sheet. Graphene layers arrange as hexagons and every hexagon is completely surrounded by other hexagons that are packed in a honeycomb crystal lattice as shown in Figure ‎ 1 3. This image is built upon the things we see in movies, television shows, and magazines, which causes girls to feel the need to look flawless and set far fetched goals for their physical appearance. Today s era marks tall, skinny and flawless faces as beautiful, and if girls don t have any of these attributes, they truly believe that they aren t as beautiful and will do whatever it takes in order to obtain that beauty. As defined by Merriam Webster, the definition of Photoshop is as follows: to alter (a digital image) with Photoshop software or other image editing software especially in a way that distorts reality (as for deliberately deceptive purposes) . Even the definition states that Photoshop distorts reality, yet girls still think that models have the ideal body image. The real reality is that models set an unattainable and unrealistic way for girls to look like. In No Model For Girls by Fiona Bawdon, the author explores how models and Photoshop can negatively affect adolescent girls body image. The author states that, magazine images are routinely airbrushed: thighs slimmed, wrinkles smoothed and blemishes removed (29). How are adolescent girls not supposed to feel self conscious and compare themselves to models when, in with a touch of Photoshop, models can look skinnier, have a flawless face, and appear more beautiful? Another startling statistic that was in the same study conducted by Marium Javaid and Iftikhar Ahmad, was that actresses and models had 10 15% less body fat whereas the average body fat for healthy women is 22 26% (30). This displays just how extremely thin and unrealistic these models are. The body fat for a healthy woman is 22 26%, yet girls still see themselves as fat and continue to try and lose weight. This trend is growing more popular in today s society, however, girls need to understand the importance of not comparing their own bodies to other people. Poussin´s painting is full of order and unity; yet it shows complete control of emotion through angles and lines. Making it the clear choice for a representation of our king s reign. One of the largest struggles for a monarch is overcoming emotion; yet showing emotions like love and compassion when they are needed. Poussin´s painting has the same show of emotion that a king needs and that King Louis XIV has. Nadera Suleiman said, ¨Control of emotions or lack of control causes empires to flourish or fall.¨ The compositional symmetry in Poussin´s painting shows control; Poussin has perfected the art of directing the eye to where the emotion that is needed is shown. Every time a conversation is had, there is a blending, or merging of ideas and opinions. A weak king would try to stop this mixing from happening, thinking that he will loose his people to new ideas or places. The other side doesn t accept us or love us, but we will run to support them because we re obsessed with acceptance. Who says their label/brand is fly? All so you can think you re doing and looking better than the rest of the barrel? Entrepreneurs are no martyrs, we just know what we re willing to put in to get to where we want to go and who we want to become. If you ve ever had any semblance of a real conversation with me, you know a real question I ask is this, If you could wake up tomorrow and be/do whatever you want to do, what would it be? after you answer, I follow up with, Why aren t you doing that? after that answer, I follow up with this, With what you make at your job now, would you quit if your dream job or career paid you the same exact thing? If you have to hesitate to answer yes to that question, leave being self employed alone because your passion would have made you jump out the window for it. Listen to yourself, trust yourself and understand that you ll be driven to depression way more times than you ll be happy. Paying the cost to be the boss has nothing to do with money; it s the price of your soul, social life, and mental health. If you ever tell yourself that you have to sacrifice in order to achieve your entrepreneurial goals, then you re fucking lying and should be a good person and get a job. The only sacrifice in this life is doing anything that keeps you away from your ultimate goal. Most people don t have the temperament to be an entrepreneur, why do you think bosses are such assholes? They (should) know everyone else s job inside out, plus their own while managing everyone s day to day. I think like most things in society, people play entrepreneur for the title or how it somehow makes them appear, but again, it s actually miserable. Being an entrepreneur means mostly any everything that takes your attention away from work will piss you off. I ll be at a party texting myself everything I d rather be doing on my laptop. Freud s Worst Nightmare Perfect Sex Dream Brendan Gosse Cynthia Miller Making Monsters October 9, 2014 Freud s Worst Nightmare Perfect Sex Dream In her article, author Barbra Creed discusses a wide range of theories and assumptions on Freud and his relation to modern cinema, memories, and the development of the original horror film. She begins by describing Freud and his obsession with horror. She briefly mentions some of his case histories that entail themes of sexual abuse, hysteria, bestiality, phobias, and perversity, but primarily continues to inform us of his hatred of cinema. Considering Freud was born in 1856, he was just reaching his mid 50 s when early cinema really took off. Films and movies became the forefront of entertainment, the must see attraction by audiences across the country, and the newest daring art form. This was, however, an art form that Sir Sigmund Freud wanted nothing to do with. Despite having several films be inspired by his theories and writings, Freud refused to become involved with films and filmmaking, and even avoided being captured on camera in his daughter s home videos. The reason for this hatred however, is neglected and left questionable by Creed. The author points out that early cinema was known for stretching the boundaries on narrative filmmaking by incorporating elements of sex, desire, and eroticism, which were, of course, main focuses of Freud s countless writings. She continues her analysis by efficiently describing the modern self and the divided self: two ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Shopping has become so convenient in recent years due to online stores, as well as the growing number of shopping centers, that it s become a problem. Kalle Lasn, co founder of the magazine Adbusters and starter of the Occupy Movement, believes that, Overconsumption is the mother of all of our environment problems (197). Consumers have come to see shopping as a fun activity while spending time with friends or family. The highly awarded movie The Revenant is an epic story of Hugh Glass s mission to seek revenge on those who had wronged him. The movie teaches many important life lessons, but they differ significantly in comparison to the book it s based on. Not only does the story teach important lessons, it is a notable legend in American folklore. The motion picture rendition of Michael Punke s book The Revenant changes the meaning of the book because despite the similarities in the characters and the initial storyline the ending scene redefines the book. In the beginning of the movie Glass is a guide for a return trip to a nearby fort after a successful trapping mission. Similarly, in the novel, Glass is a guide on an expedition to inhabit a formerly abandoned fort. This is a critical portion of the story because it is the first action that eventually develops the story into the epic tale that it is. Another important aspect that both the book and film have is the conflict with the ruthless native Ree tribe. In the book, the Ree tribe was intent on killing all the white settlers along the Grand River. In comparison to the movie in which the Ree were killing American trappers along the Grand River in an attempt to find the chief s missing daughter. The most significant section of the book was when Glass was brutally mauled by ta bear. The book had a very detailed account of Glass running into a large sow with her two cubs, and Glass was able to shoot the sow from close range as it barreled towards him. The movie took a more theatrical approach with Glass being initially knocked to the ground and mauled by the bear and then after it came back for a second attack he shot it. Despite the discrepancies, both have a large sow accompanied by two cubs, and the cubs are the first thing that he sees. Additionally, despite Glass s different initial run in with the bear he still shoots it as it charges him for it to later die and fall on top of him. After being severely injured Glass is left behind with John Fitzgerald and Jim Bridger. The book has the two abandon the camp to avoid being detected by a Ree hunting party that is near their campsite and in the process, they take all of Glass s possessions.
