Analysis Essay
Writing an analysis essay can be a challenging endeavor that requires a combination of critical
thinking, research skills, and effective communication. The difficulty lies in the multifaceted
nature of the task, demanding a deep understanding of the subject matter and the ability to
dissect and interpret various components.
Firstly, one must carefully select a topic for analysis, ensuring it is both relevant and meaningful.
This often involves extensive research to gather sufficient information and data. Once the topic is
chosen, the writer needs to develop a strong thesis statement that encapsulates the main
argument or perspective to be explored in the essay.
The next hurdle involves organizing the essay coherently. Proper structure is crucial, with a clear
introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each section must seamlessly flow into the
next, guiding the reader through a logical progression of ideas. This requires a keen awareness of
the overall purpose and a strategic arrangement of supporting evidence and analysis.
Analyzing the subject itself poses a unique set of challenges. A successful analysis essay goes
beyond summarizing information; it delves into the underlying meanings, implications, and
connections. This demands critical thinking skills to dissect the topic and present a nuanced
perspective. Balancing objectivity and subjectivity is also crucial, as the analysis should be
informed by evidence while allowing room for personal interpretation.
Additionally, crafting a compelling and engaging prose style is vital. The language used should
be clear, concise, and sophisticated, reflecting a mastery of communication. Translating complex
ideas into accessible language without sacrificing depth is an art that adds to the complexity of
the task.
In conclusion, writing an analysis essay is a formidable challenge that requires a combination of
research, critical thinking, organizational skills, and effective communication. However,
mastering this skill can be immensely rewarding as it hones one's ability to engage deeply with a
subject and articulate nuanced insights.

Mistreatment And Vandalizing In San Jose
Today in our community the public parks that we have around some of the parks are
being mistreated in being vandalising and not trying to keep it clean for the residents
that in the nearby neighborhood and communities. The thing that I discovered was
that according San Jose Mercury News that the city needs the money from residents
that live in the city of San Jose to fix up those parksthat are being mistreated by some
of the residents. Me growing up in the Eastside part of the city of San Jose some of

The best solution for them is to try and make the residents happy that they a place
to go with friends and families to have a good time not just to see a park a alone

realizes that the parks are not there just to be there but to bring people together and
try to bond in an environment that we as the residents oftenly do oftenly do all the
time. So that s part of me saying that give respect to a community park and don t

The Choice And The Notebook
The purpose of this paper is to write about the similarities and difference of two
movies: The Choice and The Notebook. Nicholas Sparks really knows how to set a
romantic/emotional, but also creates a very predictable love story plot line. You
could predict the ending before the movie started with only knowing who the movie
was based on a Nicholas Sparksnovel. There is always a boy who falls for a girl and
has to work extremely hard to get her. Then, something happens, but in the end they
are always together. The Notebook and The Choice both show how life is about
choices, you have to fight for what you love, and the good guy wins; but, in The
Choice the ending will leave you wanting to know more about these characters and
their story and that is why The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the movie The Notebook first released in 2004 that features actor Ryan Gosling
and actress Rachel McAdams; Internet Movie DataBase (IMDB) best describes the
plot by saying, A poor yet passionate young man falls in love with a rich young
woman, giving her a sense of freedom, but they are soon separated because of their
social differences (IMBd). At the start of the movie, an elderly man begins to read
a love story from his notebook to a female patient. The love story takes place in
1940. He tells the story how Allie and Noah fall in love over a summer. Then, her
parents disapprove of her seeing Noah. The two get into an argument and then
decide to break up. The next day Allie is forced to go without saying goodbye to
him, she later starts school in New York. Although Noah seemed fine when he left
that night, he was devastated and ends up writing Allie a letter each day for a year.
She never received the letters because of her mother. Noah ends up going to battle
in WWII and Allie becomes a nurse for wounded soldiers. She ends up meets a more
wealthy young man who later she becomes engaged to. Later, Allie reads in a
Osama Bin Laden Essay
During the 1990s, Osama bin Laden, a fundamentalist militant and leader of Al
Qaeda, issued several fatwas (legal edicts) opposed to the stationing of US troops in
Saudi Arabia. By middle of 1996, Al Qaeda was barely functioning as a terrorist
organization, and had only thirty members. Facing irrelevance and anxious that he
was losing his leadership role over Islamist militants worldwide, bin Laden,
announced a blessed jihad to oppose the United Statesand its Western allies on
August 23, 1996 (Bruce, et al., 2005). As part of this jihad, bin Laden declared war
on the United States, which he intended to recruit new members for Al Qaeda. This
effort failed.
In February 1998, Bin Laden then formed the World Islamic Front for Jihad Against

Along with Osama bin Laden, the following also signed the charter: Ayman al
Zawahri for Egyptian Islamic Jihad; Ahmed Taha, for Islamic Group s Rifai, and
several leading jihadists from Pakistan and Bangladesh. The group threatened attacks
against the United States. In the end, however, this effort did not generate significant
Islamist support. Al Qaeda, however, at this time was well funded, technologically
sophisticated and had a fairly large following of loyal militants.
Before the U.S. Embassy attacks in 1998, Taha began distancing himself from
coalition. Bin Laden threatened the United States stating that, The coming days will

William Faulkner’s The Sound and the Fury Essay
example
William Faulkner s The Sound and the Fury
In William Faulkner s The Sound and the Fury, the image of honeysuckle is used
repeatedly to reflect Quentin s preoccupation with Caddy s sexuality. Throughout the
Quentin section of Faulkner s work, the image of honeysuckle arises in conjunction
with the loss of Caddy s virginity and Quentin s anxiety over this loss. The particular
construction of this image is unique and important to the work in that Quentin
himself understands that the honeysuckle is a symbol for Caddy s sexuality. The
stream of consciousness technique, with its attempt at rendering the complex flow of
human consciousness, is used by Faulkner to realistically show how symbols are
imposed upon the mind when experiences ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Quentin goes on to comment on the smell of the honeysuckle during his talking
with Caddy ten times (94 99). In almost every one of these remarks, Quentin
stresses that the smell is unpleasant. This feeling of disgust towards the plant s
smell mirrors his own emotional state in regard to Caddy during this same scene. It
is important to note that Quentin never engages the honeysuckle as a symbol which
he has any control over; instead, the honeysuckle seems to naturally arise in his
mind in connection with his anxiety over Caddy. As Quentin chases after Caddy,
searching for answers to why she had sex, we can see how his feelings of
frustration become united with the smell of the honeysuckle: Caddy dont Caddy it
wont do any good dont you know it wont let me go the honeysuckle drizzled and
drizzled...she moved back went around me on toward the trees you go on back to the
house you neednt come
I went on why dont you go on back to the house damn that honeysuckle. (97)
For Quentin, his struggle to grasp Caddy s actions becomes connected with
honeysuckle, particularly the smell. Not only is Quentin not actively constructing the
honeysuckle as a symbol, he is in fact antagonistic towards it. As Caddy attempts to
evade him, Quentin
The Importance of Harry Hoveden in Making History Essay
The Importance of Harry Hoveden in Making History
In making history, Brian Friel uses Hugh O Neill to define the characters in the play,
and the way in which his actions affect them gives the audience some characteristics
to decide on the personality of particular characters.
Harry Hoveden is obviously an important character in the play because he plays a
major part in the play, and appears in most of the major scenes. It is also clear that
he is important to O Neill because he is often the one person he turns to in times of
crisis.
Harry is presented as a very loyal and sober character by, he serves to balance out
some of the other characters almost like a buffer. His calm nature in times of distress
or excitement ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This calming and soothing effect also reflects on the audience because if he was not
included, the play would be a lot more negative and the audience would be more
likely to feel insecure about the flow of the play. His character contrasts so much
with most of the other characters that it adds diversity to making history. It makes
some scenes more interesting because of the presence of this calm and obviously
intelligent character and his political soundness can mock characters like O Donnell.
When compared to characters like O Donnell
Harry is a very likeable character and appears as someone to be trusted and relied
upon.
Brian Friel also uses him and his overwhelming loyalty towards O Neill to show a
weakness in O Neill s character. O Neill uses Harry to portray certain characters via
contrast and particularly O Neill by the way he treats Harry. It often appears that
O Neill takes Harry for granted showing another side to his character that can be
thought of as weakness. Also the fact that whenever O Neill puts Harry down he
regrets it almost immediately shows that O Neill is insecure and sometimes does
not think before he speaks, so Brian Friel uses Harry to show a very important side
to O Neill that could have affected his judgment during the wars he fought and led.
Harry is also an expositional character, and Brian uses him to expose

Argumentative Essay On Animal Testing
Could you imagine your pet dog, cat, guinea pig, mouse or rabbit laying on a
experimenting table with their life at risk (Wright)? Most people s stomach s
would turn at the sight of it. An estimated fifty to one hundred million animals are
experimented on each year not knowing what will happen to them. Smaller
animals such as mice, flies, as well as worms are euthanized after the experiment
no matter the outcome, so even if the experiment works, the animals are still killed
(ProCon.org). It should be illegal for animals to be experimented on in schools as
well as in labs. These experiments can keep humans safe, however some animals
such as mice and rats don t have enough biological similarities with a human for the
tests to be 100% accurate. Some scientists are throwing away animals lives for labs
that have a 90% failure rate. Is an experiment with a 10% success rate really worth a
life? Within scientific labs, animals of all sorts are tested for to see the toxicity of
pharmaceuticals, food additives, and gardening chemicals (Wright). Abundances of
animals every year die for scientific cause and according to Lindsay Marshall, PhD,
Science Communication Officer at the Humane Society of the United States and
Humane Society International says, Animal research certainly fails animals, in terms
of the distress and suffering caused, and just as importantly, animal research often
fails people, too, in terms of the slow, unproductive route to useful treatments. More

A person s determination to survive all takes place within the mind. In the Diary of
Admiral Richard Byrd, it dives into the mental battle between himself and his
alienation from the rest of the world during his exertion in Antarctica while living

A Short Walk On The Twilight
River stood interrupting Cinder s thoughts he announced, I do believe it s time to
show Cinder the underground clubs. They all agreed and stood to don their coats.
As they exited the building, River took a deep breath and glanced around at the
night sky. The temperature has risen, and I do enjoy the twilight only Russia can
provide. How is everyone for a short walk to the tunnel? Everyone glanced at
Cinder, as the only mostly human she would be the one to decide if she could
handle the cold. I would love a walk in the twilight. Cinder did her best to smile she
wanted to enjoy tonight.
It was a very short walk, before they were entering a railroad tunnel; Cinder thought
as short cuts went it was rather dangerous. Hey guys, why are we walking into a
railroad tunnel what if a train comes? Cinder had Tazzy tucked under her arm
covered by her coat when he popped his head out and explained. This is not for
trains; if you look closely you will see there are no tracks.
Cinder used her boot to clear away the snow in front of her as she walked closer to
the entrance, and found he was right there were no train tracks.

fronts of the clubs, along with a few restaurants, and coffee houses. I do believe there

Undocumented Immigrants Should Not Be A Citizen Of
The...
Who deserves to be a citizen of the United States (U.S.)? The founders of The United
States of America believed people who immigrated and spent years building lives in
this country deserved citizenship. They were also keenly aware that making new
immigrants wait for citizenship while denying them the very rights that Americans
had just fought to claim for themselves would be detrimental to our relatively new
and fragile country. Today, it s a question President Barack Obama
and Congress have
been trying to answer. As the President and lawmakers, alike, negotiate the contours
of an immigrationreform bill, they should keep in mind that the granting of legal
status to undocumented immigrants would be a boon for the United Stateseconomy.
Moreover, allowing undocumented immigrants to become U.S. citizens would be
equally beneficial to America. Legal status and citizenship enable undocumented
immigrants to produce and earn significantly more than they do when they are on the
economic sidelines. The resulting productivity and wage gains ripple through the
economy because immigrants are not just workers, but they are also consumers and
taxpayers. Once illegal immigrants are granted citizenship, the newly welcomed
citizens can begin to spend their increased earnings on goods and services that will
stimulate demand in the United States economy, which will, ultimately, help create
jobs and expand the economy as well.
Currently, illegal immigration is a growing concern in the United
Marissa Mayer s Leadership Style
Every leader has a leadership style they feel is most effective in order to get the job
done. In most cases employees fail to see the leader s vision or just simply do not
agree with it. It s up to the leader to understand and recognize when their leadership
style is no longer affecting change or no longer getting the productivity out of their
work force. In this paper I will talk about Marissa Mayer, the Chief Executive Officer
(CEO) at Yahoo and how her leadershipstyle may or may not have changed in her
career. Leadership styles or behaviors are not something people just come up with.
They are derived from different interactions throughout the course of their career.

Being a leader is hard because you have to try and balance what best for the
organization and the employee. Most of the time they are not the same thing. I
feel she has to make a choice of what s more important. I would tell her to be more
of a transformational leader. This type of leadership explains how leaders can
change an organization by creating, communicating, and modeling a vision for the
organization and inspiring employees to strive for that vision (Kirimi, D., Barine,
M. (2012). Definitions of transformational leadership. Transformational Corporate
Leadership, Luton, Bedfordshire, GBR, pp. 32 47). If you allow your workforce
to feel part of the solution then they will feel that the work they are doing will
make a difference in turning the organization around. Employees will feel inspired
and put the good of the organization above self interest (Kirimi, D., Barine, M.,
2012). This is how I would go about change but I am sure she would not be able to

Cumulative Disadvantages (Darmody 2011) Constitute
Itself...
How does cumulative disadvantage (Darmody 2011) constitute itself in education?
Discuss with particular reference to migrant students.
Cumulative disadvantage constitutes itself in education in numerous ways. But firstly
what is cumulative disadvantage ? This is a term used to refer to the growing
disadvantages that occur for an individual in several different areas of life. Education
is an area that has been studied to a great extent and the results have shown that
cumulative disadvantage constitutes itself very firmly in education. The people who
suffer these disadvantages in particular are migrants. Disadvantage and immigrant
status are closely linked (OECD, 2012). In 2006, 71,000 migrant children represented
6.2% of the national youth population aged 0 19 (Darmody, Byrne and McGinnity,
2014) in Ireland. However, this is not to say that native citizens don t experience
cumulative ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are questions to be asked in relation to cumulative disadvantage in education.
For example, is there cumulative disadvantage because they are migrants or is it due
to other elements such as income, religion etc.? Or are these factors all related in
some way to each other? Cumulative disadvantage is constituted within education
because of these factors.
For migrant children who are attending an Irish primary or secondary school, a basic
disadvantage would be the language barrier. For many migrants English is not their
first language and for others their parents may not speak English fluently and this also
causes a cumulative disadvantage. For migrant children, education is about learning
the language of the country they have migrated to (in this case English (Ireland)) as
well as keeping up with their studies through this language. This is a disadvantage to
migrant students because Irish born, English speaking students have a better chance
of doing well in their studies
Possible Impacts Of Climate Change On Sea Turtle
Nearly all species of sea turtle are classified as endangered and are increasingly
threatened by climate change. All sea turtle species have temperature dependent sex
determination. Female offspring of sea turtle species are produced at higher
temperatures. A warming climate may drastically alter the sex ratios of sea turtles
species and reduce fertility rates and genetic variation. High enough temperatures
can also create single sex generations. A 2009 study (Hawkes et. al) on climate
change and marine that reviewed data to assess probable impacts of climate change
on sea turtles, found that one of the data gaps in past research was data on
unbalanced primary sex ratios. (x) Another 2009 study (Poloczanska, Limpus Hays)

Difference Between Depression And Women Essay
More over the second hypothesis was that the mean difference in depression for
men differed from the mean difference in depression for women because according
to Silverstein et al. (2013), women were 33% more likely than men to have pure
depression and over 50% more likely to have somatic depression. Finally, the third
and last hypothesis was that the mean difference in self esteem for men differed
from the mean difference in self esteem for women because according to Sprecher,
Brooks, and Avogo, (2013), in a study among Blacks, Hispanics, Whites, and
Asians, men had higher self esteem than women across all races with the exception
of black females who s self esteem did not significantly differ from black men.
Method Participants The current study consisted of a total of 80 undergraduate
students who were recruited from the University of California Riverside.
Consequently, the ages of the participants ranged from 18 25 years of age with the
average age being 21 years of old. Furthermore, the sample was comprised of 60
females of the total 80 participants. Over all, the majority of the sample consisted of
34 Hispanic students, including Mexican American, Central American, and others.
Next, 20 of the participants in the sample were Asian or Asian American including
Chinese, Japanese, and others. Moreover, the third biggest group of participants
identified as White Caucasian, Anglo European American, not Hispanic students who
made up a total of 9 participants from the sample.
Family Guy Racism
The corpus to be analyzed consists of the most controversial episodes of an
internationally popular and long running adult animation show called Family Guy.
This show represents cultural attitudes and embodies how the youth of today see
themselves and others, as well as influencing viewers. Some messages in this popular
show, and others like it, underscore prejudices and racist attitudes in our society,
showcasing the discrimination that minorities and some ethnicities face.
Furthermore, these shows actually serve to strengthen existing prejudices, increasing
these attitudes in viewers. The target audience of Family Guyis primarily youth in
their teens and young adults (it also slants mostly male). This age group is of course
more impressionable than others, being in their formative years; the messages in the
television that they watch, then, have a particularly strong effect on their perceptions
of raceand ethnicity. In the Family Guy episode PTV , Osama bin Ladenis depicted
humorously recording a threat to America, using a rubber chicken and other
slapstick humor; he goes on to make a joke that someone used a doctor s note to get
out of a suicide bombing. This joke is highly offensive, propagating a bigoted point
of view of Arab, Middle Eastern, and South Asian (hereinafter AMESA ) worlds,
which are often perceived as being barbaric, untrustworthy, anti democratic, violent,
and filled with religious militants (Hughey and Muradi 2009). Shows like this that
The Benefits Of Foreign Language
Verbal language is how the human race communicates. Without it, nations would be
severed from the worldly ties it needs to survive. A hundred years ago language loss
wasn t a concern, but now, it threatens the world. There is a great urgency for
plurilingual people amongst the military, political, business, and international world,
particularly in the U.S. If efforts are not taken to increase foreign language
capabilities amongst the people of America, the future of cross cultural
communication will be grim. Foreign language understanding is crucial in society,
and so a greater effort should be taken to educate the students of America for the
benefit of globalization.
In the United States, foreign language study is in huge decline. In the past, the U.S.
has attempted foreign language study. In fact, 100 years ago the United States foreign
language study was roughly similar to Europe s foreign language study (King). But,
after the United States entered World War I... almost half the U.S. states criminalized
the teaching of German or other foreign languages in schools (King). This was
because the United States was nervous that German speakers could transmit secret
war information. Now, over the decades, foreign language study has plateaued,
especially in the U.S. In fact, in some states, fewer than 10 percent of students are
learning languages other than English, painting a grim picture of foreign language
education in U.S. public schools (Mitchell). The young students of
Reflective Essay On Save The Children
My duties as an intern are to fundraise for a charity, either The Nature Conservancy
or Save the Children. The way we acquire donors is by street canvassing and
educating them on the benefits of supporting varying charitable projects within the
charity. The expectation for a number of donors to sign up in a week is eight. My
average sign ups per week that I have achieved has been ten. After achieving the site
rep title by getting twelve donors in two consecutive weeks, I gained leadership
where I help and train others. What I gained from this internship was knowledge
about the nonprofits that I fundraised for, direct communicationskills, and being in a
unique work environment. The Nature Conservancy(TNC) was founded in 1951
which is the oldest and largest environmental non profit that works in all 50 states

all life depends. It is rated number nineteen on Forbes. Some of the local projects
TNC does in California includes a project that prevented the Marin Headlands from
becoming a town and turning it into a regional park instead and maintaining Hetch
Hetchy reservoir in Yosemite where most of the SF Bay area gets their water from.
They restored the Great Barrier Reef since it almost died. A global project they are
currently working on is planting a billion trees in the Amazon by 2025.

My Ideal Life
Life is a beautiful, inconsistent gift given to each of us. Through the course of our
lives, we grow and shape our ideal life, but often life completely alters the course
which you yearn for it to follow. Often, life is filled with unexpected surprises,
both resulting in either negative or positive outcomes. But, it is not simply these
instances that shape us, but our response to them and the choices we make.
Throughout my life, I have been face to face with critical circumstances regarding
my health, five of which left me in the hospital. These were some of the most
challenging times of my life, not only in the injuries and illnesses I faced, but in
the following adjustments which followed. When I was two, I suffered a very
chronic case of RSV, which later caused me to contract asthma. This kept me
indoors, surrounded by my nebulizers, and my books. I was a very bright and
curious child. I had a very inquisitive outlook on the world; I wanted to understand
everything. I was instructed to wash my hands one afternoon, and being the
obedient, independent child I was, I did just that. I climbed atop my white footstool,
reached for the soap, dispensed a drop and washed my hands. I noticed that the soap
was at its initial position, the spring was outstretched once more, and the soap was
no longer coming from the mouth of the dispensing tube. I had to know why! I
turned the water off and inspected the soap more closely, repeating the dispensing
action until I could wrap my head

Printmaking is a work of art made up of ink on paper and existing in multiple
examples, moreover, a print is created through an indirect transfer process when the
artist starts by drawing a composition on another surface by placing a sheet of paper
in contact with the drawn surface and then is run through a printingpress. By doing a
work of art in this way is that numerous impressions can be made as new papers and
can be sent through the press in the same way. In this case, the artist should decide
how many to make and that total number of impressions is called an edition, which is
then signed by the artist. For the reason that there is more than one example, many
people may have these prints. Throughout the long history of the medium, different...

What I Learned About My Family History Essay
When I first started this project I didn t know a lot about my family history. I was
told that my mom s side was from Germany and that my dad s side is from Ireland
and while I was able to verify that I also learned so much more. I was about to
located two different 4th great grandparents on Ancestry.com and uncover over 40
relatives that I never knew about dating back until 1800. I am grateful for what I
have learned in the process of writing this paper because without it I may have never
learned about my true culture and the familyI come from. My father grew up in a
small town in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and it turns out that VanNewkirk s have
been living in that area for over 200 years. First I was introduced to my grandfather
s dad; James William VanNewkirk. He was born on September 21, 1895 in
McKeesport Allegheny PA. His parents, William and Henrietta, where both dead
by age 15 so it is assumed that James become the head of the household to his two
younger siblings, Walter and Alice. He worked at a laborer at a railway company
in Pittsburgh until he was drafted into the military at age 21. He served in the Army
from June 2, 1918 until February 21, 1919; reaching the rank of private. When
James came home he met his wife, Jane McAffee. They both continued to live in
Pittsburgh and had six children; William, Nele, Henyetta, James, Walter, and Martha.
Walter would later become my grandfather. James died at age 40 in Pittsburgh
Pennsylvania on November 22, 1935. He

Jurisprudence, however it is not a law now for Texas. Though, under Federal Law

One example, feared is that using marijuana could be a gateway to the use of
harder drugs, such as heroin, and cocaine. Additionally, using marijuana long term
could be dangerous to person s health, the problem could become an addictive habit
to the person. As well as noted that while you are under the influence of marijuana
it could impair your thinking because every individual reacts differently to any
type of drugs such as marijuana. Moreover, second hand smoke from marijuana
can also be harmful to others. Another disadvantage is that employers can legally
fire you if you are under the influence or test positive for marijuana. Many
employers feel that being under the influence of marijuana is like coming to work
under the influence of alcohol. Being under the influence could also affect your
work performance, as well as the employer, could be held liable if there were to be
an incident especially in hospitals or oil refineries. Another disadvantage is that
legalizing marijuana could send a message to children that drug use is acceptable.
Furthermore, if this becomes a law in Texas, many issues that surround this law
would punish sellers as well as affect sellers. Marijuana dispensaries cannot deduct
ordinary or essential expenses and are obligated to pay taxes on 100 percent of
their marijuana gross income because marijuana continues to be a federally
controlled substance. Marijuana sellers could also be at risk for tax evasion if they
don t report what they sell and could be at risk for criminal

The Stages of Childhood Development
CHAPTER 01: Preschool child
1.1 Preschool child
Preschool age is basically identified as year three to six. In psychology this age
group categorize as early childhood . This early childhood stage is more imperative
in the child development and their learning procedure. That s why the concept of
preschool has come to play.
Preschoolers are always on the move, exploring their world with excitement, curiosity,
and an apparently endless source of energy. The capacity of learning in this stage is
enormous. They learn and develop from each experience, association, and adventure
that they meet. Having the enough space and opportunity to discover objects and
playing environments helps preschool child to develop their imagination and help the

Understanding the early childhood development means to understand the behavioral,
cognitive, psychosocial, language and motor development that children get through
their early childhood stage. Psychologists state about early childhood development in
according to different views. The theories by Sigmund Freud stressed out the
importance of early childhood actions and experiences that almost completely
focused on mental disorders than normal performance.
According to Freud s early childhood developmental theories it is clarify as a
progression of psychosexual stages. At Three Essays on Sexuality (1915), Freud
tells that stages as oral, anal, phallic, latency and genital. Every period connect the
fulfillment of a libidinal desire and be able to afterward play a role in adult
personality and behavior.
Erik Erikson says that each period of child development based on overcome a conflict.
As an example, the main conflict through the early childhood stage engages in
creating a feeling of personal identity. Success or failures within the conflicts at each
period can impact on the whole functioning. For an example, failure to develop a
personal identity results in role confusion through the adolescent stage.
Early childhood development can be discussed under five developmental areas. Those
are identified as;

Pros And Cons Of Fear Of Super Intelligence
Should we be scared of super intelligence? Superintelligence is an artificial
intelligence that has its own brain and can develop its own thoughts which is likely
to be smarter than human in every aspects including ability to work and social
skills. Superintelligence can come in many forms of technology including
computers and robots. In today s world, there are many evidences which prove that
superintelligence exists in our society. There is no doubt why people to be scared of
this kind of technology that can think and make decisions on its own. With its
abilities to evolve and self learn the environment, there are unlimit consequences that
can derive from these machines. Torres has put this in a very precise and easy to

According to Arend Hintze, there are four different types of fear about artificial
intelligence including fear of unforeseen, fear of misuse, fear of wrong social
priorities, and fear of the nightmare scenario; the first fear being fear of unforeseen.
Even if the designers of the superintelligence think they can control what they have
made, they might not understand what the machine is thinking. One of the
examples of the real world being AlphaGo, the computer program, have beaten the
professional go player from South korea, Lee Sedol, who is one of the best go
players in the world. Go is one of the most complex board games with the most
simple rules where there are two players in which each one of them takes turn
placing one of the stones given (black or white) onto the 19 by 19 grid board. The
purpose of the game is to create as much territories surrounded by their own stones
as possible. Once a player s stones are circled by the other player s stones, those
stones need to be removed from the board. Since there is no artificial intelligence
that have ever beat the brain of human before, the Alpha go, which was developed by
a team of twenty people, is considered one of the superintelligence. These kinds of
artificial intelligence system that can defeat human s brain could turn into something
scary in the future. Thus, humans should be aware of superintelligence and be
responsible of what they have
Meaning Of Tarantella Dance
A Doll House was a play written by Henrik Ibsen. The book was written to show
how the women were treated in the Norwegian region and the tarantella dance one
of the most important symbol in the play. Tarantella dance is a folk dance in the
southern part of Italy. The dance is generally performed by couples. The name of
the dance is generally tarantella dace is derived after a spider know as tarantula. In
this play the dance is performed by Nora. The dance involves a lot of swift and

an allegory. She plays different roles, predetermined by the society. Nora changes
her tone of her language during the conversation s peak in a different idiom when
they are out of the company of men. Ibsen used Nora to perform the dance because
she was one of the important character in the play. Nora thinks that if she performs

Steering Behavior in Virtual Environment Essay
CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
1.1Overview
In 21st century where IT is affecting every aspect of life we can see the effect of
computer, electronics and modern machines in every domain. This big penetration in
our life has demanded the automation of all these machines. The automation or the
quest to make them smarter and more independent has led to seek applications in the
fields of Steering behavior, Neural Network and Genetic Algorithms.
1.2Steering Behavior in Virtual Environment
Steering Behaviors present solutions for one major requirement of intelligent agents
in animation, games, virtual reality and robotic movement: the ability to navigate
around their world may be real may be simulated in a life like and improvisational ...

Depending upon the experimental configuration, changes can be done in destination,
behavior, acceleration, speed or manipulation of the intelligent agent. The approach
taken in this paper is to make steering behaviors as entirely independent from the
underlying locomotion scheme. A simple locomotion model will be presented in
order to make the discussion of steering behaviors more accurate. Our locomotion
model is based on a simple vehicle model.
1.2.2Virtual Agents
To cater the need of computer animation, interactive media such as games and virtual
reality there is need for intelligent agent, those who can navigate according to
requirement. These agents may have some ability to improvise their actions
according to situation. This project will use the term intelligent to denote these agents
which are intelligent agents in a virtual world who may be interacting with other
agents. Intelligent agents are intended for use in computer animation and various
interactive media such as games and virtual reality. This project will use the term
virtual to denote these agents which, rather than being simulations of an electrical
device in the real world, are instead intelligent agents in a virtual world.
1.2.3Behavior Hierarchy
In this project the term behavior is used to refer to the improvisational and life type
actions of intelligent agents. The behavior of an intelligent agent can be better

west coasts.Another local snake is the Boa Constrictor, common name Tete Chien.
It is part of the Boidae family. The snakes ground color is light brown , side with
dark spots and light centers, belly is yellow with black spots. The snake also has a
brown line running from its snout through its eye. It is commonly said to look like
the dog tГЄte de Chien. This happens to be a non poisonous snake, making it not
harmful to humans, but they are still able to defend themselves in most cases .
Without venom they resort to other methods of defence or killing. They kill prey
by grabbing and enveloping it in tight coil making it impossible for the prey to
escape. The prey dies because their breathing and heartbeat is stopped due to the
cut off circulation. The next local snake is the Worm Snake , its scientific name is
Cnemidophorus Vanzo .It is featured in the Guinness Book of world records as the
world s smallest snake. It happens to be only six inches long and one eighth of an
inch wide. It has brassy yellow lines down its back to the tip of its tail . The eyes of
the worm snake are narrow and covered by its scales. They mostly live their life
underground and only come to the surface when it is raining. Meanwhile it eats

Modern Day Olympics Dbq
There are quite a few factors that shaped the modern day Olympics from 1892 to
2002. Pierre de Coubertin states that he wanted to create the Olympics to spread
world peace. He does this by substituting war for friendly sports competitions (doc
1). Of course, there were some bumps in the road while trying to achieve this utopia.
Some factors that have changed the Olympics are the allowing of women being able
to compete in the Olympics, women s suffrage, nationalism, wars, and economic
conditions (doc 2 7). Women have gone through a lot during this time frame: women
s suffrage, feminism, and more. Despite these instances, women s rights have
increased from 1908 to 1992. In 1908, 2% of the competitors were women (doc 2).
This number of women... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Japan was undergoing a mini depression in the economic department. This was due
to the aftershock of World War 2. The Japanese mayor, Ryotaro Azuma, knew they
were going through an economic depression, so he wanted the Olympics to be held
in Japan. Furthermore, the Olympics were later held in Japan in 1972. Afterward,
Azuma was greatly satisfied and content with the outcome. Japan was, again, part of
the worldwide trade and the economy flourished. He believes that the companies,
that deal with the Olympics, have saved him (doc 4). This also relates to the fees
paid by the United States to air the Olympics on TV and radio broadcasts. In 1996,
the Olympics were held in Atlanta and the money spent on the social media
increased by about 135% from 1988 (doc 7). It can be inferred that the Olympics
can revive nations; therefore, the United States agreed to pay more money since the
Olympics were held in Atlanta, Georgia. The spending of money was being carried
over to the 2000 Olympics, as well. Throughout this journey, many factors had an
impact on the Olympics. Some of the factors that changed the modern day Olympics
are women competitors, women s suffrage, nationalism, wars, and economic
conditions. An increase of women s rights was given, pride for the nations was
shown, wars still occurred, and economies have flourished. The longer the Olympic
Games have aged, the closer the world s state is to Pierre s

The Tales Of Bath s Tale
The Canterbury Tales provides an array of tales, specifically two tales in which
one better provides the most meaning and delight compared to the other. The Wife
of Bath s Prologue and Tale represents the view and desires of women during that
time period. The Pardoner s Prologue and Tale describes the type of person the
Pardoner is along with how money can be evil. In The Canterbury Tales, The
Pardoner s Tale, provides the most moral meaning compared to The Wife of Bath s
Tale by stating that greed can manipulate people into plotting unspeakable actions

that, By this guade have I wonne, yeer by yeer, A hundred mark, sith I was

have committed sins. The preacer is there to listen to the people and repent them.
He on the other does not care about the sins individuals have committed because he
is after their money only. Helping the sinned individuals does not motivate him:
money does. He even goes as far saying he does not care where his money and other

Theme Of Kingship In Macbeth
Shakespeare s plays, Henry IV, Part 1 (1H4) and Macbeth (Mac.), support the Tudor
myth through the representation of monarchy and the theme of a king s divinity.
From a historical perspective, Shakespeare portrays Henry IV and his descendants as
unworthy of kingship as Henry IV disrupts the divine right of kings and thus
instigates the Tudor myth. This representation is implemented in order to appease
Elizabeth I through affirming her sanctioned appointment to the throne. The depiction
of kingship within Macbeth is similar as the monarch is demonstrated as disrupting
the divine right of kings through treason and regicide. However, Shakespeare s
tragedy does so in order to attest to James I of Britain s maintenance of the divine
right of kings. This is achieved primarily through the demonstrated polarity between
Macbeth the tyrant and James, the king of England. Originating from Henry VII of
England, the Tudor myth is a device that describes Henry IV s disruption of natural
monarchical succession that ultimately required expiation and sovereign
restoration in kingship. Its premise relies heavily on the notion of the divine right
of kings as it was believed that a monarch was God s representative on earth (Hicks
15). Therefore, deposition was considered offensive and unjustifiable before God
and the people (Kiryanova 24) and thus it is believed that Henry Bolingbroke, IV of
England, sparked a series of successors undeserving of the throne. The restoration of
Henry IV s
Rousseau Amour Propre
Daniel Davis Philosophy D 12/01/11 What is amour propre? What role does it play,
according to Rousseau, in the Discourse on Inequality? Tutor: Robert Cowan In May
1755, Jean Jacques Rousseau s Discourse on the Origin of Inequality was published.
The Discourse challenged contemporary philosophers in regards to the nature of man,
and the fundamental principles of inequality. He highlighted that the inequality in
current society developed due to the increase amour propre has had on individuals.
Examining amour propre shows that it is fundamentally much more complex than
simply being misconstrued as vanity; it could be described as a range of things such
as pride, aggrandizement and prestige within society. It has... Show more content on

As amour propre is the main drive for distinction and self importance, competition
between humans becomes more violent and deceitful which creates a greater
degree of inequality within society. Moreover, as the sentiment is an artificial and
reflective trait, it could be described as morally unjustified. The artificial trait is
highlighted by Rousseau when he writes amour propre is a purely relative and
factitious feeling which arises in the state of society (Rousseau, f/n pg.73); it is due
to the need for comparison with other human beings that it arises only in society and
the coming together of human beings. It is this correlation that the trait has with
society that leads it to having a significant role within the development of society.
The development of amour propre has played a pivotal role within society:
Rousseau believes it is solely responsible for the ills, and inspires all evil in modern
society. Civil society was founded when the first man who, having enclosed a piece of
ground, bethought himself of saying This is mine , and found people simple enough
to believe him (Rousseau pg.84). The state of civil society could not have happened
overnight, that leap would require great conceptual development in humans, but from
the moment that men started staying in communities was the first real sign in the
development of amour propre;
Cast Away
In the movie Cast Away, Chuck Noland says that to turn ones back on time is to
commit a sin. In this movie, Chuck s life revolves around time, and his ability to
make more money is directly affected by time. This fact, however, is exactly what is
related as a bad thing. Throughout the movie, capitalistic ventures, which require an
extreme investment of time, are characterized as evil. The message sent in Cast Away
is that we live in a corrupt and morally bankrupt society which is only concerned
with the bottom line, but if we all get back to the basics and search our souls for
what really matters in life, we may have a chance of turning out okay. Chuck Noland

He only gives his friend a phone number when his friend s wife is dying of cancer.
He offers no emotional support, and even tries to stay out of the conversation

this are the Christmas presents he buys Kelly (Cast Away). Even though they are

Community In The Film Of Gods And Men
The Benedictine values of humility, loyalty, and community represented amongst the
monks in Of Gods and Men coincide with Harrison s understanding of the human
identity in relation to the image of God. Harrison s ideology of humility compares to
the monk s Benedictine oath of humility, which is shown through their daily actions
at the monastery. The monks loyalty to the Lord compares to Harrison s description
of spiritual perception and the prioritization of values. Finally, the concept of
community imitates Harrison s depiction of how people of different backgrounds can
unite with one another in order to create a peaceful society. In the movie, Of Gods
and Men, the theological idea of community stands amongst other core concepts
which contribute to the human identity as created in the image of God. The term
community , as seen through the eyes of the Benedictines, revolves around the
process of knowing oneself through the building of relationships with others. The
idea of community living solidifies the importance of living with others who may not
embody the same values as oneself, yet remains a peaceful and respectful
environment for both parties. In the circumstances of Of Gods and Men, the monks
live in a town that is primarily Islamic faith, although they are Catholics. They attend
to the needs of the members of the community, despite the religious barrier that
separates the two groups apart from one another. One of the monks, Brother Luc, acts

I Am Deathly Afraid Of Throwing Up
Sweat trickled down my eyebrow. I barely opened my eyes and saw a tiny sliver of
light peeking through my window. I almost fell back asleep that day, and I would
have missed class if not for my dog. Winston always has a way of knowing when it
is time to get me up. He jumped on my belly, and I knew it was time for us to start
the day. Every day is the same day, same routine, and same Olivia. Ever since I was
young, I have loved routine. Well, not so much loved it, but I had to have it. The
earliest memory I have of my practices was at the age of five. I am deathly afraid of
throwing up, otherwise known as Emetophobia. The thought, feeling, even seeing
films with people throwing up, bothers me. I made a pact with myself to keep
calm. I promised that if I did a certain routine every night for bed, I would not get
sick the next day. It became habit, and habit became life for me. My illnesses
progressed as I grew older, but my mindset never changed: order produces healthy
and happy. I never fault from my routine, and if I ever did panic would ensue.
Today was one of those days. As soon as my feet hit the floor, I knew something
was odd. Then I felt it between my toes, cat litter. The gritty feeling was almost
impossible to scrape away, but I soon cleaned it off my toes. The litter box must
have been a playground for the kittens the night before. I NORMALLY vacuum
every night according to my chalkboard hanging above my bed. In fact, I had

Humdrum. The Humdrum has been tormenting Simon since he first got to the
school and the Mage even asks Simon if he wants to be tutored somewhere far
away to hide. Simon refuses this offer, not wanting the school which he always
looked forward to attending to be taken away from him by the Humdrum like so
many people were. The main character of this book is (obviously) Simon, an orphan

The Utopian Philosophy of Shangri La in James Hilton s Lost Horizon
For some people life may not be satisfactory. Life has many troubles including death,
pain, and suffering. It leaves little hope. There are ways in which people can live to
have a good life. This method of how a person should live is viewed differently
thoughout the world. James Hilton represents this combination of ideas and cultures in
the novel, Lost Horizon (1933). This novel tells the tale of four distinctively different
people retreating from a war zone. In their retreat they are kidnapped and taken by
plane deep into the Himalayan mountain wilderness. Little did they know that here in
the confines of the mountains there is a paradise. This paradise is called ... Show more

The mental environment of the people of Shangri La is the search of knowledge.
Platonism, the theory of Plato, maintains that to live the good life, one must first
acquire certain kinds of knowledge. This theory represents the environment of
Shangri La, searching for knowledge. Hilton portrays the Shangri Lite s search of
knowledge through their extensive library which contains the world s best
literature (95). This great asset of Shangri La represents the theory of Plato and
showed that Shangri La is a place abundant is Platonic philosophy. The second
philosophical view aiding in the setting of Shangri La is the theory of Aristotle.
Aristotle believed that the good life is one of balance. The people of Shangri La
also lived this way claiming that our prevalent belief is moderation. (74). The
people are moderately sober, moderately chaste, and moderately honest (75).
Moderation is abundant throughout the setting of Shangri La, and the people claim
that moderation [is], y know the motto of the firm (180), whereas firm represents
Shangri La. This principle makes for a considerable degree of happiness (74). This
relates to the view of Aristotle, that the good life is a life of happiness. The
happiness of Shangri La is portrayed as one of the pleasantest communities, (108)
where the inhabitants are courteous and carefree (108) and where one will doubtless
find great happiness (198). Even in happiness there is moderation. Shangri La

M1 explain how the management of human, physical and technological resources can
improve the performance of a selected organisation.
In this assignment I will describe the main physical and technological resources
required in an organisation, and how the management of human, physical and
technological resources can improve the performance of Tesco.
Physical resources
Some of the main physical resources for Tesco are; their premises, machinery,
equipment, materials and their stock. I have listed these as the main resources

Budgets must be closely monitored (and stuck to) in order to fully achieve to the
businesses maximum potential. The processes and internal techniques must be
managed and all resources must be effectively used. It is very important for a
business such as Tesco to manage their resources and control their costs in order to
budget. Managing resources and controlling costs to a budget is very beneficial for
Tesco as it involves a lot of different resources and money is always flowing in and
out of the business, which, if managed well, will improve the performance of Tesco.
Managing physical resources is very important as they are essential for the day to
day running of the business. Tescos management should do things such as check
their machinery, equipment and premises regularly to make sure that everything is
efficiently working and also to help Tesco improve their overall performance. It is
also very important that Tesco provides employees with suitable induction and
training programmes on how to operate new machinery so they are up to date in
the knowledge of use and know how it can be used most effectively. If an employee
isn t familiar with how to use a piece of machinery, the efficiency of the business will
be decreased. Tesco has many physical resources that should be effectively managed;
such as their entrance and reception (customer services), which should be kept tidy,
organised, and any damages (such as the fire damage as a recent example

Whitechapel Shootings Essay
Over the years many historians have researched further into the Whitechapel murders
and discovered more about what this revealed about class in late Victorian London. It
can be highlighted that there were many different views surrounding the issue of
class, such as the views of the working class, the issues that were highlighted
surrounding class differences and specifically demonstrating what the Whitechapel
murders revealed about the pre existing social tensions in Victorian society. As well
as this, we can also explore how and why these social tensions impacted Victorian
society after the Whitechapel murders. Showed, demonstrated many things, revealed
about existing issues, things that weren t emphasised before this, just how different...

In the last decades of the Victorian period, East London was predominantly inhabited
by the working classes. The working classes mainly consisted of the native English
population, Irish immigrants, and immigrants belonging to Central and Eastern
Europe and German Jews, many of whom were living in extreme poverty and great
numbers of these immigrants were residing in Whitechapel. It can be suggested
through research, that the Whitechapel murders helped historians to develop their
understanding about the viewpoint that many people had in regards to immigrants,
specifically those who belonged to the working class. This can be demonstrated
through the fact that although there was no evidence to prove that the killer was a
person who belonged to the Jewish community, a number of newspapers continued to
broadcast and support the view that the murders were foreign in character. Historian,
Blair, writes, the exacerbated pre existing anti Semitism and put Jews in an
unfortunate position of being a very convenient scapegoat on which to vent
frustrations and fears of the working class (Blair, 1996:490). This point can help in
many ways, such as being able to identify and understand the issues within the
Victorian society and the views that
Global Finite Element Matrix Construction Based on a...
Introduction
Many physical phenomena in stationary condition such as electrical and magnetic
potential, heat conduction, fluid flow and elastic problems in static condition can
be described by elliptic partial differential equations (EPDE). The EPDE does not
involve a time variable, and so describes the steady state of problems. A linear
EPDE has the general form as presented in Eq. (1), where a,b,c are coefficient
functions, the term f is a source (excitation) function and u is the unknown variable.
All of this function can vary spatially (x,y,z).
∇(c∙∇u)+b∙∇u+au=f(1)
EPDE can be solved exactly by mathematical procedures like Fourier series [1].
However, the classical solution frequently no exists and for those problems where is
possible the use of these analytical methods, many simplifications are done [2].
Consequently, several numerical methods have been developed to efficiently solve
EPDE such as the finite element method (FEM), finite difference and others.
The FEM have several advantages over other methods. The main advantage is that it
is particularly effective for problems with complicated geometry using unstructured
meshes [2]. One way to get a suitable framework for solving EPDEs by using FEM
is formulate them as variational problems also called weak solution.
The variacional formulation of an EPDE is a mathematical treating for converting the
strong formulation to a weak formulation, which permits the approximation in
elements or subdomains, and the EPDE
Merion Veenom Soccer Tribe Analysis
Tribe, described by the dictionary as, Any aggregate of people united by ties of
descent from a common ancestor, community of customs and traditions , can cause
many people to often tumble into disagreement with one another over the meaning of
this word. Arguments have lead people to believe that the word triberefers to a group
of people that are primitive and savage, but Archeologists have cleaned up the
meaning. Archaeologists define the word tribe as, A political group that comprises
several bands or lineage groups, each with similar language and lifestyle and each
occupying a distinct territory (Keim, pg. 114). The word tribe not only applies to
the Native Americans as one would think. Tribe can be a label applied to any specific

Each player in the team may have separate backgrounds, but when united they all
believe in a few things. The team itself believes that they always need to be
focused and always need to show up with intensity whether they have a practice or
a game. The Venom, were a newly created soccer team in 2014 by coach Steve
Baron. They understand their world as a place to get better, and a place to
compete. Every single kid on the team understands the other teams as enemies that
they need to concor. Each child has a different life story about how they became
the person they were. For example, some kids were born in Bryn Mawr,
Philadelphia, and some kids were born in Trinidad and Tobago. The kids come from
many different backgrounds, but all unite because they understand the world the
same. Alike the Native Americans and African tribes, the Venom perform the same
rituals before each game and practice. They eat the same foods, always healthy, and
they get themselves loose in the same way each time. They always eat healthy foods
like salads, fruits, and vegetables but they never eat something that could weight
them down like junk food. Before each game, the team performs the same warm up,
they jog, they spring, they do high knees, etc. These rituals before a game never
change, similar to how the Native Americans rituals never change. Because many of
the members come from different backgrounds, there is a stern difference between
how they differentiate themselves. Many kids show up to practices in clothes that
they wear on a daily basis, so for some people, that s different. Kids show up in
jackets, shorts, gloves, hats, jerseys, anything under the sun. The catch is that they
are always unique, the outfits are never similar to the others. Although we all share
the same interests, we all differentiate from another because of our styles of life. In
2014, the team was created,

Analysis Essay

  • 1. Analysis Essay Writing an analysis essay can be a challenging endeavor that requires a combination of critical thinking, research skills, and effective communication. The difficulty lies in the multifaceted nature of the task, demanding a deep understanding of the subject matter and the ability to dissect and interpret various components. Firstly, one must carefully select a topic for analysis, ensuring it is both relevant and meaningful. This often involves extensive research to gather sufficient information and data. Once the topic is chosen, the writer needs to develop a strong thesis statement that encapsulates the main argument or perspective to be explored in the essay. The next hurdle involves organizing the essay coherently. Proper structure is crucial, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each section must seamlessly flow into the next, guiding the reader through a logical progression of ideas. This requires a keen awareness of the overall purpose and a strategic arrangement of supporting evidence and analysis. Analyzing the subject itself poses a unique set of challenges. A successful analysis essay goes beyond summarizing information; it delves into the underlying meanings, implications, and connections. This demands critical thinking skills to dissect the topic and present a nuanced perspective. Balancing objectivity and subjectivity is also crucial, as the analysis should be informed by evidence while allowing room for personal interpretation. Additionally, crafting a compelling and engaging prose style is vital. The language used should be clear, concise, and sophisticated, reflecting a mastery of communication. Translating complex ideas into accessible language without sacrificing depth is an art that adds to the complexity of the task. In conclusion, writing an analysis essay is a formidable challenge that requires a combination of research, critical thinking, organizational skills, and effective communication. However, mastering this skill can be immensely rewarding as it hones one's ability to engage deeply with a subject and articulate nuanced insights. • 3. The Choice And The Notebook The purpose of this paper is to write about the similarities and difference of two movies: The Choice and The Notebook. Nicholas Sparks really knows how to set a romantic/emotional, but also creates a very predictable love story plot line. You could predict the ending before the movie started with only knowing who the movie was based on a Nicholas Sparksnovel. There is always a boy who falls for a girl and has to work extremely hard to get her. Then, something happens, but in the end they are always together. Osama Bin Laden Essay During the 1990s, Osama bin Laden, a fundamentalist militant and leader of Al Qaeda, issued several fatwas (legal edicts) opposed to the stationing of US troops in Saudi Arabia. By middle of 1996, Al Qaeda was barely functioning as a terrorist organization, and had only thirty members. Facing irrelevance and anxious that he was losing his leadership role over Islamist militants worldwide, bin Laden, announced a blessed jihad to oppose the United Statesand its Western allies on August 23, 1996 (Bruce, et al., 2005). As part of this jihad, bin Laden declared war on the United States, which he intended to recruit new members for Al Qaeda. This effort failed. Al Qaeda, however, at this time was well funded, technologically sophisticated and had a fairly large following of loyal militants. • 5. William Faulkner’s The Sound and the Fury Essay example William Faulkner s The Sound and the Fury In William Faulkner s The Sound and the Fury, the image of honeysuckle is used repeatedly to reflect Quentin s preoccupation with Caddy s sexuality. Throughout the Quentin section of Faulkner s work, the image of honeysuckle arises in conjunction with the loss of Caddy s virginity and Quentin s anxiety over this loss. The particular construction of this image is unique and important to the work in that Quentin himself understands that the honeysuckle is a symbol for Caddy s sexuality. The stream of consciousness technique, with its attempt at rendering the complex flow of human consciousness, is used by Faulkner to realistically show how symbols are imposed upon the mind when experiences ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Quentin goes on to comment on the smell of the honeysuckle during his talking with Caddy ten times (94 99). In almost every one of these remarks, Quentin stresses that the smell is unpleasant. This feeling of disgust towards the plant s smell mirrors his own emotional state in regard to Caddy during this same scene. It is important to note that Quentin never engages the honeysuckle as a symbol which he has any control over; instead, the honeysuckle seems to naturally arise in his mind in connection with his anxiety over Caddy. As Quentin chases after Caddy, searching for answers to why she had sex, we can see how his feelings of frustration become united with the smell of the honeysuckle: Caddy dont Caddy it wont do any good dont you know it wont let me go the honeysuckle drizzled and drizzled...she moved back went around me on toward the trees you go on back to the house you neednt come I went on why dont you go on back to the house damn that honeysuckle. Not only is Quentin not actively constructing the honeysuckle as a symbol, he is in fact antagonistic towards it. As Caddy attempts to evade him, Quentin
  • 6. The Importance of Harry Hoveden in Making History Essay The Importance of Harry Hoveden in Making History In making history, Brian Friel uses Hugh O Neill to define the characters in the play, and the way in which his actions affect them gives the audience some characteristics to decide on the personality of particular characters. Harry Hoveden is obviously an important character in the play because he plays a major part in the play, and appears in most of the major scenes. It is also clear that he is important to O Neill because he is often the one person he turns to in times of crisis. Harry is presented as a very loyal and sober character by, he serves to balance out some of the other characters almost like a buffer. His calm nature in times of distress or excitement ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This calming and soothing effect also reflects on the audience because if he was not included, the play would be a lot more negative and the audience would be more likely to feel insecure about the flow of the play. His character contrasts so much with most of the other characters that it adds diversity to making history. It makes some scenes more interesting because of the presence of this calm and obviously intelligent character and his political soundness can mock characters like O Donnell. When compared to characters like O Donnell Harry is a very likeable character and appears as someone to be trusted and relied upon. Brian Friel also uses him and his overwhelming loyalty towards O Neill to show a weakness in O Neill s character. O Neill uses Harry to portray certain characters via contrast and particularly O Neill by the way he treats Harry. It often appears that O Neill takes Harry for granted showing another side to his character that can be thought of as weakness. Also the fact that whenever O Neill puts Harry down he regrets it almost immediately shows that O Neill is insecure and sometimes does not think before he speaks, so Brian Friel uses Harry to show a very important side to O Neill that could have affected his judgment during the wars he fought and led. Harry is also an expositional character, and Brian uses him to expose different

Most people s stomach s would turn at the sight of it. An estimated fifty to one hundred million animals are experimented on each year not knowing what will happen to them. Smaller animals such as mice, flies, as well as worms are euthanized after the experiment no matter the outcome, so even if the experiment works, the animals are still killed (ProCon.org). It should be illegal for animals to be experimented on in schools as well as in labs. These experiments can keep humans safe, however some animals such as mice and rats don t have enough biological similarities with a human for the tests to be 100% accurate. Some scientists are throwing away animals lives for labs that have a 90% failure rate. Is an experiment with a 10% success rate really worth a life? Within scientific labs, animals of all sorts are tested for to see the toxicity of pharmaceuticals, food additives, and gardening chemicals (Wright). Abundances of animals every year die for scientific cause and according to Lindsay Marshall, PhD, Science Communication Officer at the Humane Society of the United States and Humane Society International says, Animal research certainly fails animals, in terms of the distress and suffering caused, and just as importantly, animal research often fails people, too, in terms of the slow, unproductive route to useful treatments. • 11. Undocumented Immigrants Should Not Be A Citizen Of The... Who deserves to be a citizen of the United States (U.S.)? The founders of The United States of America believed people who immigrated and spent years building lives in this country deserved citizenship. They were also keenly aware that making new immigrants wait for citizenship while denying them the very rights that Americans had just fought to claim for themselves would be detrimental to our relatively new and fragile country. Today, it s a question President Barack Obama and Congress have been trying to answer. As the President and lawmakers, alike, negotiate the contours of an immigrationreform bill, they should keep in mind that the granting of legal status to undocumented immigrants would be a boon for the United Stateseconomy. Moreover, allowing undocumented immigrants to become U.S. citizens would be equally beneficial to America. Legal status and citizenship enable undocumented immigrants to produce and earn significantly more than they do when they are on the economic sidelines. The resulting productivity and wage gains ripple through the economy because immigrants are not just workers, but they are also consumers and taxpayers. Once illegal immigrants are granted citizenship, the newly welcomed citizens can begin to spend their increased earnings on goods and services that will stimulate demand in the United States economy, which will, ultimately, help create jobs and expand the economy as well. Currently, illegal immigration is a growing concern in the United

In this paper I will talk about Marissa Mayer, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Yahoo and how her leadershipstyle may or may not have changed in her career. This type of leadership explains how leaders can change an organization by creating, communicating, and modeling a vision for the organization and inspiring employees to strive for that vision (Kirimi, D., Barine, M. • 13. Cumulative Disadvantages (Darmody 2011) Constitute Itself... How does cumulative disadvantage (Darmody 2011) constitute itself in education? Discuss with particular reference to migrant students. Cumulative disadvantage constitutes itself in education in numerous ways. But firstly what is cumulative disadvantage ? This is a term used to refer to the growing disadvantages that occur for an individual in several different areas of life. Education is an area that has been studied to a great extent and the results have shown that cumulative disadvantage constitutes itself very firmly in education. The people who suffer these disadvantages in particular are migrants. Disadvantage and immigrant status are closely linked (OECD, 2012). In 2006, 71,000 migrant children represented 6.2% of the national youth population aged 0 19 (Darmody, Byrne and McGinnity, 2014) in Ireland. However, this is not to say that native citizens don t experience cumulative ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are questions to be asked in relation to cumulative disadvantage in education. For example, is there cumulative disadvantage because they are migrants or is it due to other elements such as income, religion etc.? Or are these factors all related in some way to each other? Cumulative disadvantage is constituted within education because of these factors. For migrant children who are attending an Irish primary or secondary school, a basic disadvantage would be the language barrier. For many migrants English is not their first language and for others their parents may not speak English fluently and this also causes a cumulative disadvantage. For migrant children, education is about learning the language of the country they have migrated to (in this case English (Ireland)) as well as keeping up with their studies through this language. This is a disadvantage to migrant students because Irish born, English speaking students have a better chance of doing well in their studies

Finally, the third and last hypothesis was that the mean difference in self esteem for men differed from the mean difference in self esteem for women because according to Sprecher, Brooks, and Avogo, (2013), in a study among Blacks, Hispanics, Whites, and Asians, men had higher self esteem than women across all races with the exception of black females who s self esteem did not significantly differ from black men. • 16. Family Guy Racism The corpus to be analyzed consists of the most controversial episodes of an internationally popular and long running adult animation show called Family Guy. This show represents cultural attitudes and embodies how the youth of today see themselves and others, as well as influencing viewers. Some messages in this popular show, and others like it, underscore prejudices and racist attitudes in our society, showcasing the discrimination that minorities and some ethnicities face. Furthermore, these shows actually serve to strengthen existing prejudices, increasing these attitudes in viewers. The target audience of Family Guyis primarily youth in their teens and young adults (it also slants mostly male). This age group is of course more impressionable than others, being in their formative years; the messages in the television that they watch, then, have a particularly strong effect on their perceptions of raceand ethnicity. In the Family Guy episode PTV , Osama bin Ladenis depicted humorously recording a threat to America, using a rubber chicken and other slapstick humor; he goes on to make a joke that someone used a doctor s note to get out of a suicide bombing. This joke is highly offensive, propagating a bigoted point of view of Arab, Middle Eastern, and South Asian (hereinafter AMESA ) worlds, which are often perceived as being barbaric, untrustworthy, anti democratic, violent, and filled with religious militants (Hughey and Muradi 2009). • 17. The Benefits Of Foreign Language Verbal language is how the human race communicates. Without it, nations would be severed from the worldly ties it needs to survive. A hundred years ago language loss wasn t a concern, but now, it threatens the world. There is a great urgency for plurilingual people amongst the military, political, business, and international world, particularly in the U.S. If efforts are not taken to increase foreign language capabilities amongst the people of America, the future of cross cultural communication will be grim. Foreign language understanding is crucial in society, and so a greater effort should be taken to educate the students of America for the benefit of globalization. In the United States, foreign language study is in huge decline. In the past, the U.S. has attempted foreign language study. In fact, 100 years ago the United States foreign language study was roughly similar to Europe s foreign language study (King). But, after the United States entered World War I... almost half the U.S. states criminalized the teaching of German or other foreign languages in schools (King). This was because the United States was nervous that German speakers could transmit secret war information. Now, over the decades, foreign language study has plateaued, especially in the U.S. In fact, in some states, fewer than 10 percent of students are learning languages other than English, painting a grim picture of foreign language education in U.S. public schools (Mitchell). But, it is not simply these instances that shape us, but our response to them and the choices we make. These were some of the most challenging times of my life, not only in the injuries and illnesses I faced, but in the following adjustments which followed. When I was two, I suffered a very chronic case of RSV, which later caused me to contract asthma. This kept me indoors, surrounded by my nebulizers, and my books. I noticed that the soap was at its initial position, the spring was outstretched once more, and the soap was no longer coming from the mouth of the dispensing tube. I had to know why! I turned the water off and inspected the soap more closely, repeating the dispensing action until I could wrap my head

Moreover, second hand smoke from marijuana can also be harmful to others. Another disadvantage is that employers can legally fire you if you are under the influence or test positive for marijuana. Many employers feel that being under the influence of marijuana is like coming to work under the influence of alcohol. Being under the influence could also affect your work performance, as well as the employer, could be held liable if there were to be an incident especially in hospitals or oil refineries. Another disadvantage is that legalizing marijuana could send a message to children that drug use is acceptable. Furthermore, if this becomes a law in Texas, many issues that surround this law would punish sellers as well as affect sellers. Marijuana dispensaries cannot deduct ordinary or essential expenses and are obligated to pay taxes on 100 percent of their marijuana gross income because marijuana continues to be a federally controlled substance. • 36. Theme Of Kingship In Macbeth Shakespeare s plays, Henry IV, Part 1 (1H4) and Macbeth (Mac.), support the Tudor myth through the representation of monarchy and the theme of a king s divinity. From a historical perspective, Shakespeare portrays Henry IV and his descendants as unworthy of kingship as Henry IV disrupts the divine right of kings and thus instigates the Tudor myth. This representation is implemented in order to appease Elizabeth I through affirming her sanctioned appointment to the throne. The depiction of kingship within Macbeth is similar as the monarch is demonstrated as disrupting the divine right of kings through treason and regicide. However, Shakespeare s tragedy does so in order to attest to James I of Britain s maintenance of the divine right of kings. This is achieved primarily through the demonstrated polarity between Macbeth the tyrant and James, the king of England. Originating from Henry VII of England, the Tudor myth is a device that describes Henry IV s disruption of natural monarchical succession that ultimately required expiation and sovereign restoration in kingship. Its premise relies heavily on the notion of the divine right of kings as it was believed that a monarch was God s representative on earth (Hicks 15). Therefore, deposition was considered offensive and unjustifiable before God and the people (Kiryanova 24) and thus it is believed that Henry Bolingbroke, IV of England, sparked a series of successors undeserving of the throne. The restoration of Henry IV s

The artificial trait is highlighted by Rousseau when he writes amour propre is a purely relative and factitious feeling which arises in the state of society (Rousseau, f/n pg.73); it is due to the need for comparison with other human beings that it arises only in society and the coming together of human beings. It is this correlation that the trait has with society that leads it to having a significant role within the development of society. The development of amour propre has played a pivotal role within society: Rousseau believes it is solely responsible for the ills, and inspires all evil in modern society. Civil society was founded when the first man who, having enclosed a piece of ground, bethought himself of saying This is mine , and found people simple enough to believe him (Rousseau pg.84). The state of civil society could not have happened overnight, that leap would require great conceptual development in humans, but from the moment that men started staying in communities was the first real sign in the development of amour propre;

Life has many troubles including death, pain, and suffering. It leaves little hope. There are ways in which people can live to have a good life. This method of how a person should live is viewed differently thoughout the world. James Hilton represents this combination of ideas and cultures in the novel, Lost Horizon (1933). This novel tells the tale of four distinctively different people retreating from a war zone. In their retreat they are kidnapped and taken by plane deep into the Himalayan mountain wilderness. The people of Shangri La also lived this way claiming that our prevalent belief is moderation. (74). The people are moderately sober, moderately chaste, and moderately honest (75). Moderation is abundant throughout the setting of Shangri La, and the people claim that moderation [is], y know the motto of the firm (180), whereas firm represents Shangri La. This principle makes for a considerable degree of happiness (74). This relates to the view of Aristotle, that the good life is a life of happiness. The happiness of Shangri La is portrayed as one of the pleasantest communities, (108) where the inhabitants are courteous and carefree (108) and where one will doubtless find great happiness (198). Even in happiness there is moderation. Shangri La

Managing physical resources is very important as they are essential for the day to day running of the business. Tescos management should do things such as check their machinery, equipment and premises regularly to make sure that everything is efficiently working and also to help Tesco improve their overall performance. It is also very important that Tesco provides employees with suitable induction and training programmes on how to operate new machinery so they are up to date in the knowledge of use and know how it can be used most effectively. It can be highlighted that there were many different views surrounding the issue of class, such as the views of the working class, the issues that were highlighted surrounding class differences and specifically demonstrating what the Whitechapel murders revealed about the pre existing social tensions in Victorian society. In the last decades of the Victorian period, East London was predominantly inhabited by the working classes. The working classes mainly consisted of the native English population, Irish immigrants, and immigrants belonging to Central and Eastern Europe and German Jews, many of whom were living in extreme poverty and great numbers of these immigrants were residing in Whitechapel. It can be suggested through research, that the Whitechapel murders helped historians to develop their understanding about the viewpoint that many people had in regards to immigrants, specifically those who belonged to the working class. This can be demonstrated through the fact that although there was no evidence to prove that the killer was a person who belonged to the Jewish community, a number of newspapers continued to broadcast and support the view that the murders were foreign in character. Historian, Blair, writes, the exacerbated pre existing anti Semitism and put Jews in an unfortunate position of being a very convenient scapegoat on which to vent frustrations and fears of the working class (Blair, 1996:490). This point can help in many ways, such as being able to identify and understand the issues within the Victorian society and the views that
  • 49. Global Finite Element Matrix Construction Based on a... Introduction Many physical phenomena in stationary condition such as electrical and magnetic potential, heat conduction, fluid flow and elastic problems in static condition can be described by elliptic partial differential equations (EPDE). The EPDE does not involve a time variable, and so describes the steady state of problems. A linear EPDE has the general form as presented in Eq. (1), where a,b,c are coefficient functions, the term f is a source (excitation) function and u is the unknown variable. All of this function can vary spatially (x,y,z). ∇(c∙∇u)+b∙∇u+au=f(1) EPDE can be solved exactly by mathematical procedures like Fourier series [1]. However, the classical solution frequently no exists and for those problems where is possible the use of these analytical methods, many simplifications are done [2]. Consequently, several numerical methods have been developed to efficiently solve EPDE such as the finite element method (FEM), finite difference and others. The FEM have several advantages over other methods. The main advantage is that it is particularly effective for problems with complicated geometry using unstructured meshes [2]. One way to get a suitable framework for solving EPDEs by using FEM is formulate them as variational problems also called weak solution. The variacional formulation of an EPDE is a mathematical treating for converting the strong formulation to a weak formulation, which permits the approximation in elements or subdomains, and the EPDE
  • 50. Merion Veenom Soccer Tribe Analysis Tribe, described by the dictionary as, Any aggregate of people united by ties of descent from a common ancestor, community of customs and traditions , can cause many people to often tumble into disagreement with one another over the meaning of this word. Arguments have lead people to believe that the word triberefers to a group of people that are primitive and savage, but Archeologists have cleaned up the meaning. Archaeologists define the word tribe as, A political group that comprises several bands or lineage groups, each with similar language and lifestyle and each occupying a distinct territory (Keim, pg. 114). The word tribe not only applies to the Native Americans as one would think. Tribe can be a label applied to any specific ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Each player in the team may have separate backgrounds, but when united they all believe in a few things. The team itself believes that they always need to be focused and always need to show up with intensity whether they have a practice or a game. The Venom, were a newly created soccer team in 2014 by coach Steve Baron. They understand their world as a place to get better, and a place to compete. Every single kid on the team understands the other teams as enemies that they need to concor. Each child has a different life story about how they became the person they were. For example, some kids were born in Bryn Mawr, Philadelphia, and some kids were born in Trinidad and Tobago. The kids come from many different backgrounds, but all unite because they understand the world the same. Alike the Native Americans and African tribes, the Venom perform the same rituals before each game and practice. They eat the same foods, always healthy, and they get themselves loose in the same way each time. They always eat healthy foods like salads, fruits, and vegetables but they never eat something that could weight them down like junk food. Before each game, the team performs the same warm up, they jog, they spring, they do high knees, etc. These rituals before a game never change, similar to how the Native Americans rituals never change. Because many of the members come from different backgrounds, there is a stern difference between how they differentiate themselves. Many kids show up to practices in clothes that they wear on a daily basis, so for some people, that s different. Kids show up in jackets, shorts, gloves, hats, jerseys, anything under the sun. The catch is that they are always unique, the outfits are never similar to the others. Although we all share the same interests, we all differentiate from another because of our styles of life. In 2014, the team was created,
