Kalamkari Essay
Kalamkari the ancient Indian art of painting
Kalamkari refers to a method of painting natural dyes onto cotton or silk fabric with a bamboo pen or
kalam. The name kalamkari translates as pen (kalam) work (kari) in Hindi/Urdu, and was most likely
derived from trade relationships between Persian and Indian merchants as early as the 10th century
CE. European merchants also had names for this type of fabric decoration: the Portugese called it
pintado, the Dutch used the name sitz, and the British preferred chintz. The name kalamkari is used
prominently today, and is synonymous with both painted and hand blockprinted textiles that
incorporate natural vegetable/organically derived dye stuffs. While there are many forms of kalamkari

The reservoir of the kalam is never allowed to dry. It is washed and dried thoroughly before storage.
CHARCOAL SKETCH
Most artists will sketch a charcoal outline on the prepared cloth before application of black dye
(kasimi). Some artists use charred tamarind twigs to draw, while others use commercially
manufactured charcoal or lead pencils.
The following steps are taken to prepare tamarind twigs (chinta boggo) for sketching: * Dried twigs
that have fallen around the tree are gathered and broken to a length of 3 7 inches. * To char the twigs,
a shallow circular pit is scooped out in dry soil and a heap of sand is kept besides the pit. * The dry
twigs are piled up to a height of 2 3 inches above the ground level. Some newspaper is also placed
among the twigs to facilitate burning. The twigs and paper is set on fire. * When the flame dies down,
sand is thrown over the twigs, and they are set to cool in the pit for 3 4 hours. * This slow cooling
makes the pencils tough. The ash coloured twigs are then unearthed, rolled between one?s fingers to
remove greyish bark until black color is revealed. * The pencils so prepared can be stored until further
use (do not remove bark before charring; else the twigs will turn to ash).
KASIMI (Black) Black ink/dye or kasimi is at the basis of all traditional kalamkari paintings; it is
used to outline all figures,

A Comparison Of The PoeThe Raven By Edgar Allan Poe
Edgar Allan Poe was one of the most important and influential American writers of the 19th century.
He was the very first author to make a professional living as an author. Poe is famous for his tales and
poems of horror and mystery, including The Raven . Much of Poe s work was inspired by the events
that happened around him. Edgar Allan Poe s The Raven is a dark reflection on lost love, death, and
loss of hope. The poem examines the emotions of a young man who has lost his lover to death and
tries to distract himself from his sadness through books. Edgar Allan Poe was born in Boston
Massachusetts, on January 19, 1809 (Poe s Biography). Poe never really knew his parents, Elizabeth
Arnold Poe and David Poe Jr. His parents were both actors, his mother was a British actor and his
father was an actor straight out of Boston (Poe s Biography). Eliza Arnold was an actress who was
born into a lesser known British family of thespians (Schoell 13). Eliza Arnold and her family
migrated to Boston, were she continued her craft. At the early age of eighteen years old, while
performing in Richmond, she met a fellow actor by the name of David Poe (Schoell 13). The couple
was cast in several plays together as love interest and real love soon immerged. They married in 1806
and continued their acting careers (Schoell 13). It was widely known that Eliza was the better actor of
the two and that often took effect on David. The two argue an enormous amount, due the career choice

Effects Of Ww1 On Canada
The war united many Canadians in a common cause even though the war widened some divisions and
took a great toll on Canada. Few had expected the long struggle or heavy death toll. Even though the
war was one it came at a cost; compulsory military service, broken promises to farmers and organized
labour, high inflation, deep social divisions, and the suspension of many civil liberties. Some women
had received the right to vote, but other Canadians recent immigrants associated with enemy countries
had seen this right rescinded. Directly after the war Canada was hit by the cost of the war, riots
divisions plagued the country for years to come.
Canada was brought into war due to the alliance with Britain yet they fought on their own. They had

Government had intervened in the lives of Canadians to an unprecedented degree, introducing policies
that would eventually mature into a fully fledged systems, for example the Canadian patriotic fund
which was set up by the populous however was taken over and remained under federal control.
Politically, the war was also used for political supremacy. Borden s efforts to win the 1917 election
and carry the nation to victory succeeded in the short term, but fractured the country along regional,
cultural, linguistic, and class lines. English and French relations were never lower, and accusations of
French traitors and English militarists became a huge social issue. The Conscription act would tear
apart the already existing social divides in Canada. Firstly the French British divide became more
profound during and after the war. The British where more inclined to join and agree with the
conscription act as they had more family and ties to the lands where WW1 was waged. The French on
the other hand usually married younger and had families making them more reluctant to join the war
effort. Furthermore the French Canadians did not believe in the war effort as they where
underrepresented in Canada and where therefore less inclined to fight for a Government that does not
fighter for them. The war did not only cause social divisions in Canada but also eroded their human

Gambling has been around for quite some time. Initially outlawed, it became legal in 1931 and it has

The Leader And The Follower
Quote from Jerry Rice Today I will do what others won t, so tomorrow I can accomplish what others
can t . Leadership is not a title; it is not a trade, or some sort of hierarchy. Positive leadership is really
something more. For leadership to exist, the leader has to have influence to lead oneself, and to lead
others. Leadership at its core is a process of influence, meaning the influence must be transactional.
The leader must affect the follower by setting goals, and the follower must affect the leader by setting
goals. As the leader and the follower come together in a common understanding, and with a common
sense of purpose, only then can they begin to move together to accomplish a common goal.
Self Assessment: Social motives, Leadership Style, Styles of Conflict, Leader Member Exchange. The
definition of an achievement leader is for management to set challenging goals, assists in training,
emphasize improvement, and expect the highest levels of performance. I personally believe an
achievement leader is one who believes it is the best to get the job done right, by keeping their
employees happy. Positive results from this are creativity in the workplace, departments working
together as a team, motivation within the company, and a low retention rate. The negative results are
too much responsibility for the employee, with no guidance from the leader. Including low
performance skills and failure to do the task that are presented. The modern business environment

Summary Of On Being An Atheist
For many years theists and atheists have argued with one another over the existence of a creator, or
God. H.J. McCloskey published his thoughts on the matter in a journal article in 1968 titled On Being
an Atheist . In his article McCloskey aims to discredit cosmological and teleological arguments for a
creator and he uses the existence of evil in the world as evidence that a divine creator cannot exist.
McCloskey routinely refers to the cosmological and teleological arguments as believers proof of God
s existence; however, this is not an accurate statement. (McCloskey, 1968) Foreman points out in his
presentation; we cannot provide certain proof of many things and just because something cannot be
proven does not mean that it is not a justified belief. Rather than seeking proof of God s existence we
should find the best explanation for things. Regularly the field of science and the legal system gather
multiple points that support an argument to arrive at the best explanation. (Foreman, Approaching the
Question of God s Existence, 2014)
In his writing, McCloskey states that the general basis of the cosmological argument, the existence of
God from the existence of the cosmos... Theists argue however that the contingency of all things in the
universe support the cosmological argument; more simply stated there is no obvious answer as to why
there is anything at all, therefore, something must have created it. (Evans Manis) Additionally
McCloskey claims that the

The Tipages And Advantages Of Calcium Silicate Bricks
Calcium silicate bricks are also called sand lime. They are often confused with concrete bricks but
these are much harder and would not scrape quite so easily. Calcium silicate bricks are manufactured
by mixing lime, sand or crushed silicaceous together, with enough water to allow the mixture
completely hydrated to be moulded under high pressure. The bricks are then moved in and steam in
autoclaved for three to fourteen hours to speed the chemical hardening. Pigments can be added during
the mixing stage. In their natural state, calcium silicate bricks are white to a creamy off white colour,
but the addition of ochres (buff or cream colours), iron oxides (pink, red, brown or black) or chrome
oxide (green) can enable a very wide variety of colours to be produced. It easily to cut thus increase its
workable. The weight of calcium silicate bricks is light than clay brick, the density is about in 200
1000kg/m3, but it is rigid and sustainable for use of building material.
Environmentally, the calcium silicate bricks are energy conservation, demand only half of the energy

Overpopulation In The United States
The United States population is growing at an alarming rate. Overpopulation is the condition where
the population is rising rapidly and the resources cannot support it. The growth rate in the United
States is approximately 2.2%. This means by 2050 the population could reach 438 million people (
World Bank Group ) Many citizens do not see any danger of the population rise in the United States.
Unawareness might be the biggest factor in why they believe this; however, overpopulation can
destroy the environment, including food and water sources, while also raising unemployment rates and
the risk of disease.
Overpopulation can damage or even destroy the environment. The need for resources will grow with
the population, but natural resources will not be produced at a fast enough pace. Man may try to
produce the resources they need themselves but will there be enough space? According to Young the
average person needs a minimum of 100 square feet to feel comfortable in a living space ( How Much
Space Do You Really Need? ). Using the estimated population size of 2050, human living space will
take up 43.8 billion square feet. Assuming most of these people live in apartment buildings so there is
room for farming. Farms will need to switch out crops every year to slow down the process of soil
degradation. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the resource running out more countries including first world countries may join the war.

The Cause And Effects Of World War I
Cause and Effect Essay of World War I
Many things led up to the start of World War I. There was much tension between the countries of
Europe for more than fifty years. There were immediate causes, and long term causes. Some
immediate causes were the assassination of the heir of Austria Hungry, Germany declares war on
Russia, Germany declares war on France, and Great Britain declares war on Germany. Some long
term causes or basic causes were imperialism, nationalism, and the arms race.
The Axis Powers were the countries of Italy, France, and the British Empire. The leader of Italy was

Imperialism is a country wanting to take over the world and be the most powerful. The need for raw
materials and new markets Europe starts to take over land in Africa, China, India, and the Middle East.
The fight for obtaining the most land results in European countries fighting over who gets what land.
Another factor was nationalism. Nationalism is the love for one s country and feeling your part of the
country. It results in each country claiming that they are the best. The Arms Race is another
contributing factor to the war. Due to conflicts over land, countries start to prepare for and build up
their armies.
The Allies of World War II consisted of, Great Britain, France, Poland, Belgium, Australia, The U.S.,
and the USSR. The leaders of World War II were, Winston Churchill, Charles De Gaulle, Wladyslaw
Anders, Hubert Pierlot, Robert Menzies, George S. Patton, and Joseph Stalin. Winston Churchill, was
the prime minister of Poland from 1940 to 1945. He then served again from 1951 to 1955.
Charles De Gaulle, was the leader of Free France from 1940 to 1944. Gaulle, then died soon after.

Summary Of Quotes From The Kite Runner
The first sentence of the quote foreshadows Amir s struggle to forget the past throughout the rest of
the book. He claims that no matter how hard you try or how far you bury it, the past will always claw
its way out . Also in this sentence, Amir implies an occurrence of a tragic event without actually
telling the readers what it was. In the last sentence Amir speaks of peering into an alley later revealed
as the alley where his childhood friend, Hassan, was raped. By saying this he is telling the readers that
the alley and the events that occurred in the alley are constantly on his mind and have been on his
mind for the past twenty six years. The fact that it has been twenty six years also verifies the
importance of the event. This was said ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Baba tells Amir that the teacher is just jealous that Iran was a rising power in Asia. However this quote
applies to other parts of the book as well. Once Hassan is raped Amir pretends not to know what
happened because it is easier for him yet Hassan knows Amir watched. Amir says this soon after
witnessing Hassan s rape. He realized that the real reason he ran wasn t in fear of Assef and the other
boys but simply because it was the easier way out. Amir allows the rape to happen in order to get the
last kite, hoping that it would prove to Baba he was worthy of his affection. He then says that the price
of the Kite was Hassan and then compares him to the lamb sacrificed on a Muslim holiday to
represent Abraham s near sacrifice of his son to God. Baba says this when an Afghan woman is about
to be raped by a Russian as their ticket past the Russian guards. Baba is standing up for the Afghan
women. His actions are respectable however Amir tries to stop Baba. Baba s actions are respectable
and he does what he should however they remind Amir of the rape. Amir realizes that Baba is doing

The Silent Planet By. Lewis And The Three Stigmata Of...
Humanity has always maintained a strong bond between thought and action. It is through our ethical
and moral beliefs that we reinforce our mentality on life. In both Out of the Silent Planet by C.S.
Lewis and The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch by Phillip K. Dick, the protagonists and the story
interact in a similar fashion. These novels portray many fundamental religious theories that directly
mesh with human values. Characterized by their subjective actions, the main characters in these
novels are motivated most strongly by the mythic dimension of the sacred, which reveals human
inclination to think rationally about humanity s past. Mike Alsford created four categories that identify
a human being. Human as a subject is the category that most pertain to both novels. This stresses the
ability to think rationally about one s self and ideologies that stem from human characteristics. The
personalities in both novels implement a great amount of thought about their predicament and their
moral values. Through such thought, a religious context is existent from both stories, as the main
characters in both are faced with a presumed higher power, supernatural force that has a vast control
on the everyday life of humanity. Human as a subject will be applied throughout the analysis of both
stories. It will be used to address the notion of one s ability to interpret the underlying religious themes
in each story. Thought provokes human identity and it is essential to the

The Physics of Golf Essay
The Physics of Golf
As anyone who has played a round of golf will attest to, the sport is based around many fundamental
principals of physics. These basic laws are involved with every aspect of the game from how a player
swings the club to how the ball moves through the air on its way toward the pin. It is the challenge
that physics presents to the golfer that has allowed the game, and equipment used, to develop so
drastically over the past one hundred years. The first golf balls used were called featheries. They were
made with a horsehide cover packed with wet goose feathers. When the balls dried they became
extremely hard. The major flaw with the featheries was that they could not be used when the
conditions were wet because they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Obviously a lot of time, effort, research, and money were put forth into the development of the golf
ball, as it is manufactured today. The reason for this ongoing process is to help a golfer use some laws
of physics to his advantage (i.e. placing spin on the ball to create lift) while finding a work around for
other physical properties that can be detrimental to a players golf game (i.e. drag which causes the ball
to slow down and fly closer to the ground). When examining the physics, which surrounds the game
of golf, one must carefully consider all aspects of the game, not just the golf ball or even just the
equipment being used. The stroke is by far the most important aspect to any participants round of golf.
Among the scientific community, an event, such as the golf stroke, is thought of as a dynamic process
using the physical principals of mechanics based on Newton s Laws of motion. The stroke is actually
three separate events; the swing of the club, the impact of the club head with the ball, and the flight of
the ball toward the target. It is the sum of these three parts that makes a successful stroke. Before
delving into the details of the golf stroke, it is important for one to consider the general concepts of
motion that control the swing of the golf club. Two men are most influential in this area of study,
Galileo Galilee and Isaac Newton. It is the principles of these two men that

Symbolism In Guernica
Guernica, the title of the painting, is a town in Basque Country, Spain. It was the target of terror
bombing during the Spanish civil war because it was the northern bastion of the Republican resistance
movement.
First, war is depicted as devastating and it cares no one men, women, grandparents, children neither
animals. Everyone is a victim. By looking at the paintings, the people are in pain. With their mouth
open that might mean streaming out their agony; with their fingers wide spread, they might asking for
hands to hold them up. In a war, there are dead people (the baby held by his mom and the lying man);
some protects their loved ones (the mother) even still suffering; people escapes even if they are injured

The light bulb is the symbol of anti war and that Picasso wants the people to open their eyes and to see
what war could bring in our society. Everyone has their limitless potentials that can bring a brighter
future. This makes the painting connected to the present time and the future. Fourth, as interpreted by
Ray (2006), the shape and posture of the bodies express protest while the flaming buildings and
crumbled walls reflect destructive power of civil war. The newspaper background is the means by how
the painted knew the massacre. Both Berger (1980) and Chipp (1988) cited by Ray (2006), believe
that the broken sword in the painting mean defeats of the people. Overall, this is a less optimistic
painting that does not reference to the actual bombing of Guernica (Brunner, 2001). Rather it presents
a visceral depiction of terror, chaos, and grief. Sandberg (1960) quoted that Guernica is a pathetic
symbol of the recent past and a warning for the

The Debate Over Global Warming Essay
As the threat posed by global warming continues to mount, there has been much debate over how to
stem the rise in global temperatures. Nearly all experts agree that the primary driver of global
warming has been human activity. Over the last century and a half, human activity has released
immense amounts of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, altering the
Earth s climate. Yet, although there is a pressing need to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, it is
impossible to advocate a return to pre electric, preindustrial times. Modern life depends of the flow of
power, and although we must wean ourselves off of fossil fuels, we must have an alternative source of
energy. Although green, renewable energy sources like wind and solar have been hailed as the
technologies of the future, they are not yet mature enough to shoulder the burden of being our sole
source of energy. Until renewable energy technology advances sufficiently, natural gas can serve as an
effective bridge fuel, lessening the toll we are taking on the environment while ensuring that we can
meet our energy needs. As fuel sources, solar and wind power seem to be ideal. They are abundant,
renewable, and green. Although these are certainly valid points, they do not tell the entire story. While
wind and solar energy are indeed abundant, as they are readily accessible nearly everywhere, they are
also intermittent. The wind does not always blow and the sun does not always shine. Without some

Electronic health record systems are very helpful in the outpatient setting, but EHRs are only as good
as the staff and the staff that input data into the system. Electronic Health Record systems have many
functional applications in the outpatient setting. Task lists, communication with others within the
practice, and improving billing accuracy and claims, are just three of the many functional applications
EHRs provide to clinical end users in an outpatient setting. By creating day to task and imputing those
tasks into the electronic health care system, a day to day pace is set for the individual and other
members of staff. Communication with others in the practice is improved through electronic health
record systems. An atmosphere of more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Tasks inputs can be viewed by one single individual or by the entire department. By making daily
tasks available to all individuals, the what are we going to do today? question is eliminated and staff
members are given direction as to what is expected of them that day, week, or month. Communication
functionality is an electronic health record system creates and harbors an atmosphere of open
communication. Everyone in an outpatient clinic manages patients. EHRs help manage not only
communication between staff but also patient communication. EHRs can help manage communication
of incoming patients, or follow ups. Electronic health records should not replace face to face
communication between staff members and patients. Electronic health record systems should improve
and add value to staff and patient communication. By improving patient communication using EHRs,
claims and billing would be improved. Taking the guesswork out of coding, building a claim, and
billing for reimbursement are functional applications of electronic health record systems in an
outpatient setting. Coding is the most important process in the reimbursement process. Electronic
health record systems provide an electronic form of finding and signing codes to patient visits. By
taking the guesswork and the time that a coder would take to look for appropriate codes to build
patient claims. EHRs help outpatient coders look for correct codes, assign codes to services provided,
build claims, and submit claims for billing and reimbursement. Which would translate into faster
patient turn around times and faster reimbursement for services provided to

Fidel Castro And The Cuban Revolution Of Cuba
In early Latin American countries it was Mexico which harbored and inspired revolution throughout
South America. One individual which sought political refuge in Mexico was Fidel Castro of Cuba.
Fidel Castro was inspired by the Mexican revolution and decided he too could create an economic and
political revolution in Cuba. Fidel Castro with the assistant of his brother and Che Guevara would
succeed in the Cuba Revolution of 1959. Cuba would become the United States contender for
inspiration and assistance to other Latin American countries, which was the catalyst for social reforms
and revolutions, yet the United States, would not let the Cuban ideology which directly opposed its
own political and economic interest spread so easily.
The biggest reason other Latin American countries where inspired or attempted to copy the Cuban
Revolution was due to the fact that Cuba focused on social reform, which emphasized improving
human rights not acquiring commodities. Although Kennedy created a plan to fight communism
which included elimination of illiteracy, Kennedy would be assassinated and the United States would
switch to Thomas C Mann s plan known as Mann Doctrine which did not try to eliminate illiteracy.
Salvador Allende who was a socialist inspired by Cuba, launched a campaign to fight against illiteracy
programs in rural areas. In Nicaragua the Sandinistas introduced a communist political party, which
also fought against illiteracy. Cuba is known for supplying medical doctors

Michael Porter’s Generic Strategies
Michael Porter s Generic Strategies According to Porter, strategies allow organizations to gain
competitive advantage from three different bases: cost leadership, differentiation and focus. Porter
calls these bases as generic strategies. Cost leadership emphasizes producing standardized products at
a very low per unit cost for consumers who are price sensitive. Differentiation is a strategy aimed at
producing products and services considered unique industry wide and directed at customers who are
relatively price insensitive. Focus means producing products and services that fulfill the needs of
small groups of customers (niche market). When we consider competitiveness, the following
questions are raised: 1. Should we compete on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some companies which have successfully followed this strategy are: Wal Mart, Southwest Airlines,
Timex, Black Decker, Mc Donald s etc. A successful cost leadership strategy usually provides the
entire firm with high efficiency, low overhead, limited perks, intolerance of waste, intensive screening
of budget requests, and wide span of control efforts. However, some risks of pursuing this strategy are
that competitors might imitate the strategy, thus, driving overall industry profits down; that technology
breakthroughs in the industry may make the strategy ineffective; or that buyer s interest may swing to
other differentiating features besides price. Firms that succeed in cost leadership often have the
following internal strengths: Access to the capital required to make a significant investment in
production assets; this investment represents a barrier to entry that many firms may not overcome.
Skill in designing products for efficient manufacturing, for example, having a small component count
to shorten the assembly process. High level of expertise in manufacturing process engineering.
Efficient distribution channels. Its high market share means that it will have high bargaining power
relative to its suppliers and its low price will also serve as a barrier to entry. Differentiation Strategies

unique throughout the industry. The company or

The 2nd Amendment And The Second Amendment
The United States has been prideful in its fundamental liberties. One of those includes the Second
Amendment, the roaring topics of many debates. The argument surrounding it is, should American
citizens have the underlying right to carry guns to protect themselves, and the impacts of it on society.
In addition, it is our right as Americans to own and carry a gun, for recreational uses, such as hunting
.It is correct that most of the objective arguments are very reasonable. However, there are also people
who claim that this Amendment should be repealed due to events that have occurred in American
history.
Guns don t kill people, people kill people. is a quote that a majority of Americans firmly stand by. In
their eyes, owning a gun is your fundamental right as an American. Typically speaking they agree with
the idea that guns should be used for protection and recreational practices. This however, comes with
its own issues such as, believing that this right allows you to threaten, and harm anyone because it s
their Second Amendment right . (Write Barbour, 2013)
However, a revisiting conflict is that innocent people continue to lose their lives due to open carry,
supported by the Second Amendment. The Trayvon Martin vs. Zimmerman case proves that open
carry but more importantly, the Second Amendment should be repealed. Florida s weak concealed
handgun licensing law enabled Zimmerman, who had been previously arrested for battering a police

thegenre as well as the reasons it was written.
Even though Cusick considers his work history, it is a myth. The myth discusses the foundation and
establishment of the Iroquois world and well as the constant struggle between good and evil. In the
work Cusick describes how the land was formed as well as how the sun, moon, and the starts were
formed by the good mind twin. The good mind continued the works of creation, and formed numerous
creeks and rivers on the Great Island, and then created numerous species of animals of the smallest

One behavior that is encouraged in this work is the no matter one you should always try to over come
evil. This is evident when the good mind submitted to the bad minds offer to meet to resolve who
would oversee universe once and for all. Even thought the good mind is good he does what ever is
necessary to defeat the bad mind. He does this by getting the bad mind to confess what his instrument
of death was, in the case deer horns.
4. What does the work reveal or illustrate about the culture or society? What attitudes, opinions,
values, beliefs, and practices are reflected in the work? Include evidence and examples from the work.
The work reveals even though the Iroquois people were not Christians by all means they still realized
that there is still good and evil in the world. They also believe that all evil souls will sink into eternal
doom (hell) and all good souls will retire from earth and live in the heavens overlooking earth. at last
the good mind gained the victory by using the horns, as mentioned the instrument of death, which he
succeeded in deceiving his brother and he crushed him in the earth; and the last words uttered from the
bad mind were, that he would have equal power over the souls of mankind after death and he sinks
down to eternal doom and became the Evil Spirit. (Cusick, The Iroquois Creations Story. Pg 21)

less than sixteen (16) ounces in a bottle of soda, speculate on three (3) possible causes. Next, suggest
the strategies to avoid the deficit in the future.
I conclude that there are less than sixteen (16) ounces in some of the bottles of soda. Some causes that
may contribute to the issues may include a mechanical defect with the company s equipment,
employees failed to notice or inspect the bottles before packaging, or the product evaporates or goes
flat after a period time has passed. As manager, I recommend that there will be a monthly maintenance
check on the equipment and documented. Also, employees will be monitored in how thorough the
product is inspected before leaving the assembly line and packaged. Lastly, I will stress to consumers
of the possibility that the product may have experienced evaporation and gone flat depending on how
long it stays on the shelf unopened.

Disability In Canada
.7% individuals had severe issues. Several institutions including the federal government have
struggled to include the disabled in events and other societal norms, but this is in vain. The
participation comes in majorly about job acquisition and retention within working environments. A
close range of discrimination may have been covered up but Canada being a busy and industrious state
would thus require the ANY TOPIC (WRITER S CHOICE)6 participation of these people. Within a
short run, the retention may be said to be easy and tolerable, but as time moves by, the managers of
institutions tend to tire retaining these persons. Canada is said to be a nation that strives to engage
persons with disabilities in job networking cartels. Nonetheless, the failure to give consideration to the
disabled individuals may be seen through the continuous full time working which many disabled
persons may not meet. The introduction of well paying part time jobs would have been quite a
thoughtful implementation as the disabled going through medication would have a free time of their
own. Studies also reveal that between years 2001 to 2006 a robust growth was witnessed within the
economic sector. This, therefore, reduced the unemployment rate of the Canadians disabled persons to
13.2%. However, first time access to the job may have been quite difficult together with the retention
rate. From 2007 onwards, the career outcome may ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

of Irvington, New Jersey. As identified during the community assessment of Irvington Township,
several aspects of the community and environmental risks relating to the high incidence of diabetes
amongst this population were recognized. During the course of this paper, specific interventions and
quantifiable goals will be identified. The main goal of this paper is to curtail the prevalence of diabetes
in Irvington Township. Brief overview of Diabetes Diabetes is a condition that affects the way the
body breaks down glucose for energy and development. The insulin dependent and noninsulin

Adr 6-22 Values
Why do you wake up in the morning? Who are you deep down as a person or Soldier? What are your
values? These are soul searching questions that the Army needs and wants to know. Getting to know
the individuals that the Army is comprised of will give you a better understanding on how to lead
them. This is where ADRP 6 22 attributes and competencies come into play. The Army profession
certifies competence, character and commitment and each one is emphasized differently.
Character is defined as a person s moral and ethical qualities, basically who you are as a person. Your
character impacts every decision you make or don t make. It will drive the train on every aspect of
your personal and military career. The Army emphasizes that it wants leaders of character based on
regulation and the Army Values. The key to the Army s leadership model is that it will fit into almost
every Soldiers own set of values. As an organization the Army s core values must resonate with every
Soldier in order to operate. When you integrate values it is no longer someone else s view but rather a
unified set of core values that everyone believes in. When you are a leader of character with unified
values you start to build trust with your Soldiers. Through your actions, and your words credibility
starts to form. Once credible, your Soldiers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

mission. This can only happen after unification is formed between each Soldier and the Army Values.
Commitment is emphasized in every one of the Army Values. Each Soldier starts their enlistment or
commission with an oath committing to the upholding and defending the Nation and its constitution.
Without commitment it would be impossible to accomplish action that the U.S Military deems
appropriate. Without commitment the Army is not unified but rather a lot of

Natalie has gone to both regional and national championships for her prowess with the baton and

Literature Review Of Stirling Engine
Literature Review Stirling engines were invented in the early 1800 s and since then there have been
major changes to the design to adjust to certain criteria. In the early stages of the engine the ability to
create highly efficient engines became limited due to technology and materials available. All the
sources sampled agree on what a Stirling engine was and what characteristics make them different. A
Stirling engine is a heat engine that has the heating and cooling of the gas which then applies pressure
on the piston heads thus moving both the gases and the pistons creating energy (American Stirling
Company, n.d). Other articles on Stirling engines agree, saying Stirling engines are machines that
operate in a closed regenerative thermodynamic cycle. The use of Stirling engines is based off the
Stirling engine cycle of power (Asnaghi, Ladjevardi, Izadkhast, Kashani, 2012). Other respected
articles agree with this basic definition of the engine saying that applying an external heat source to a
closed cylinder where the cyclical expansion and compression of air inside the cylinder drives the
pistons up and down (Helman, 2015) and because the engine is a closed system the expansion of gases
cause the pistons to move (Saab, 2015). An introduction to a 2010 study points out that there are more
concepts to the Stirling engine then just mechanics saying, The Stirling engine is based on the
materials, development, and design of the engine to determine how well it works

  • 2. Kalamkari Essay Kalamkari the ancient Indian art of painting Kalamkari refers to a method of painting natural dyes onto cotton or silk fabric with a bamboo pen or kalam. The name kalamkari translates as pen (kalam) work (kari) in Hindi/Urdu, and was most likely derived from trade relationships between Persian and Indian merchants as early as the 10th century CE. European merchants also had names for this type of fabric decoration: the Portugese called it pintado, the Dutch used the name sitz, and the British preferred chintz. The name kalamkari is used prominently today, and is synonymous with both painted and hand blockprinted textiles that incorporate natural vegetable/organically derived dye stuffs. CHARCOAL SKETCH Most artists will sketch a charcoal outline on the prepared cloth before application of black dye (kasimi). Some artists use charred tamarind twigs to draw, while others use commercially manufactured charcoal or lead pencils. The following steps are taken to prepare tamarind twigs (chinta boggo) for sketching: * Dried twigs that have fallen around the tree are gathered and broken to a length of 3 7 inches. * To char the twigs, a shallow circular pit is scooped out in dry soil and a heap of sand is kept besides the pit. * The dry twigs are piled up to a height of 2 3 inches above the ground level. Some newspaper is also placed among the twigs to facilitate burning. The twigs and paper is set on fire. * When the flame dies down, sand is thrown over the twigs, and they are set to cool in the pit for 3 4 hours. * This slow cooling makes the pencils tough. The ash coloured twigs are then unearthed, rolled between one?s fingers to remove greyish bark until black color is revealed. * The pencils so prepared can be stored until further use (do not remove bark before charring; else the twigs will turn to ash). KASIMI (Black) Black ink/dye or kasimi is at the basis of all traditional kalamkari paintings; it is used to outline all figures, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. A Comparison Of The PoeThe Raven By Edgar Allan Poe Edgar Allan Poe was one of the most important and influential American writers of the 19th century. He was the very first author to make a professional living as an author. Poe is famous for his tales and poems of horror and mystery, including The Raven . Much of Poe s work was inspired by the events that happened around him. Edgar Allan Poe s The Raven is a dark reflection on lost love, death, and loss of hope. The poem examines the emotions of a young man who has lost his lover to death and tries to distract himself from his sadness through books. Poe never really knew his parents, Elizabeth Arnold Poe and David Poe Jr. His parents were both actors, his mother was a British actor and his father was an actor straight out of Boston (Poe s Biography). Few had expected the long struggle or heavy death toll. Even though the war was one it came at a cost; compulsory military service, broken promises to farmers and organized labour, high inflation, deep social divisions, and the suspension of many civil liberties. Some women had received the right to vote, but other Canadians recent immigrants associated with enemy countries had seen this right rescinded. Government had intervened in the lives of Canadians to an unprecedented degree, introducing policies that would eventually mature into a fully fledged systems, for example the Canadian patriotic fund which was set up by the populous however was taken over and remained under federal control. Borden s efforts to win the 1917 election and carry the nation to victory succeeded in the short term, but fractured the country along regional, cultural, linguistic, and class lines. English and French relations were never lower, and accusations of French traitors and English militarists became a huge social issue. The Conscription act would tear apart the already existing social divides in Canada. Firstly the French British divide became more profound during and after the war. The British where more inclined to join and agree with the conscription act as they had more family and ties to the lands where WW1 was waged. The French on the other hand usually married younger and had families making them more reluctant to join the war effort. Furthermore the French Canadians did not believe in the war effort as they where underrepresented in Canada and where therefore less inclined to fight for a Government that does not fighter for them. • 8. The Leader And The Follower Quote from Jerry Rice Today I will do what others won t, so tomorrow I can accomplish what others can t . Leadership is not a title; it is not a trade, or some sort of hierarchy. Positive leadership is really something more. For leadership to exist, the leader has to have influence to lead oneself, and to lead others. Leadership at its core is a process of influence, meaning the influence must be transactional. The leader must affect the follower by setting goals, and the follower must affect the leader by setting goals. As the leader and the follower come together in a common understanding, and with a common sense of purpose, only then can they begin to move together to accomplish a common goal. Self Assessment: Social motives, Leadership Style, Styles of Conflict, Leader Member Exchange. The definition of an achievement leader is for management to set challenging goals, assists in training, emphasize improvement, and expect the highest levels of performance. I personally believe an achievement leader is one who believes it is the best to get the job done right, by keeping their employees happy. Positive results from this are creativity in the workplace, departments working together as a team, motivation within the company, and a low retention rate. The negative results are too much responsibility for the employee, with no guidance from the leader. Including low performance skills and failure to do the task that are presented. The modern business environment requires ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Summary Of On Being An Atheist For many years theists and atheists have argued with one another over the existence of a creator, or God. H.J. McCloskey published his thoughts on the matter in a journal article in 1968 titled On Being an Atheist . In his article McCloskey aims to discredit cosmological and teleological arguments for a creator and he uses the existence of evil in the world as evidence that a divine creator cannot exist. McCloskey routinely refers to the cosmological and teleological arguments as believers proof of God s existence; however, this is not an accurate statement. (McCloskey, 1968) Foreman points out in his presentation; we cannot provide certain proof of many things and just because something cannot be proven does not mean that it is not a justified belief. Rather than seeking proof of God s existence we should find the best explanation for things. Regularly the field of science and the legal system gather multiple points that support an argument to arrive at the best explanation. (Foreman, Approaching the Question of God s Existence, 2014) In his writing, McCloskey states that the general basis of the cosmological argument, the existence of God from the existence of the cosmos... Theists argue however that the contingency of all things in the universe support the cosmological argument; more simply stated there is no obvious answer as to why there is anything at all, therefore, something must have created it. They are often confused with concrete bricks but these are much harder and would not scrape quite so easily. The bricks are then moved in and steam in autoclaved for three to fourteen hours to speed the chemical hardening. Pigments can be added during the mixing stage. Overpopulation is the condition where the population is rising rapidly and the resources cannot support it. The growth rate in the United States is approximately 2.2%. This means by 2050 the population could reach 438 million people ( World Bank Group ) Many citizens do not see any danger of the population rise in the United States. Unawareness might be the biggest factor in why they believe this; however, overpopulation can destroy the environment, including food and water sources, while also raising unemployment rates and the risk of disease. Overpopulation can damage or even destroy the environment. The need for resources will grow with the population, but natural resources will not be produced at a fast enough pace. • 14. The Silent Planet By. Lewis And The Three Stigmata Of... Humanity has always maintained a strong bond between thought and action. It is through our ethical and moral beliefs that we reinforce our mentality on life. In both Out of the Silent Planet by C.S. Lewis and The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch by Phillip K. Dick, the protagonists and the story interact in a similar fashion. These novels portray many fundamental religious theories that directly mesh with human values. Characterized by their subjective actions, the main characters in these novels are motivated most strongly by the mythic dimension of the sacred, which reveals human inclination to think rationally about humanity s past. Mike Alsford created four categories that identify a human being. Human as a subject is the category that most pertain to both novels. This stresses the ability to think rationally about one s self and ideologies that stem from human characteristics. The personalities in both novels implement a great amount of thought about their predicament and their moral values. Through such thought, a religious context is existent from both stories, as the main characters in both are faced with a presumed higher power, supernatural force that has a vast control on the everyday life of humanity. Human as a subject will be applied throughout the analysis of both stories. It will be used to address the notion of one s ability to interpret the underlying religious themes in each story. Thought provokes human identity and it is essential to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 16. The Physics of Golf Essay The Physics of Golf As anyone who has played a round of golf will attest to, the sport is based around many fundamental principals of physics. These basic laws are involved with every aspect of the game from how a player swings the club to how the ball moves through the air on its way toward the pin. It is the challenge that physics presents to the golfer that has allowed the game, and equipment used, to develop so drastically over the past one hundred years. The first golf balls used were called featheries. They were made with a horsehide cover packed with wet goose feathers. When the balls dried they became extremely hard. The major flaw with the featheries was that they could not be used when the conditions were wet because they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Obviously a lot of time, effort, research, and money were put forth into the development of the golf ball, as it is manufactured today. The reason for this ongoing process is to help a golfer use some laws of physics to his advantage (i.e. placing spin on the ball to create lift) while finding a work around for other physical properties that can be detrimental to a players golf game (i.e. drag which causes the ball to slow down and fly closer to the ground). When examining the physics, which surrounds the game of golf, one must carefully consider all aspects of the game, not just the golf ball or even just the equipment being used. The stroke is by far the most important aspect to any participants round of golf. Among the scientific community, an event, such as the golf stroke, is thought of as a dynamic process using the physical principals of mechanics based on Newton s Laws of motion. The stroke is actually three separate events; the swing of the club, the impact of the club head with the ball, and the flight of the ball toward the target. It is the sum of these three parts that makes a successful stroke. Before delving into the details of the golf stroke, it is important for one to consider the general concepts of motion that control the swing of the golf club. • 19. The Debate Over Global Warming Essay As the threat posed by global warming continues to mount, there has been much debate over how to stem the rise in global temperatures. Nearly all experts agree that the primary driver of global warming has been human activity. Over the last century and a half, human activity has released immense amounts of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, altering the Earth s climate. Yet, although there is a pressing need to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, it is impossible to advocate a return to pre electric, preindustrial times. Modern life depends of the flow of power, and although we must wean ourselves off of fossil fuels, we must have an alternative source of energy. Although green, renewable energy sources like wind and solar have been hailed as the technologies of the future, they are not yet mature enough to shoulder the burden of being our sole source of energy. Until renewable energy technology advances sufficiently, natural gas can serve as an effective bridge fuel, lessening the toll we are taking on the environment while ensuring that we can meet our energy needs. As fuel sources, solar and wind power seem to be ideal. They are abundant, renewable, and green. Although these are certainly valid points, they do not tell the entire story. While wind and solar energy are indeed abundant, as they are readily accessible nearly everywhere, they are also intermittent. The wind does not always blow and the sun does not always shine. Differentiation is a strategy aimed at producing products and services considered unique industry wide and directed at customers who are relatively price insensitive. However, some risks of pursuing this strategy are that competitors might imitate the strategy, thus, driving overall industry profits down; that technology breakthroughs in the industry may make the strategy ineffective; or that buyer s interest may swing to other differentiating features besides price. • 34. Literature Review Of Stirling Engine Literature Review Stirling engines were invented in the early 1800 s and since then there have been major changes to the design to adjust to certain criteria. In the early stages of the engine the ability to create highly efficient engines became limited due to technology and materials available. All the sources sampled agree on what a Stirling engine was and what characteristics make them different. A Stirling engine is a heat engine that has the heating and cooling of the gas which then applies pressure on the piston heads thus moving both the gases and the pistons creating energy (American Stirling Company, n.d). Other articles on Stirling engines agree, saying Stirling engines are machines that operate in a closed regenerative thermodynamic cycle. The use of Stirling engines is based off the Stirling engine cycle of power (Asnaghi, Ladjevardi, Izadkhast, Kashani, 2012). Other respected articles agree with this basic definition of the engine saying that applying an external heat source to a closed cylinder where the cyclical expansion and compression of air inside the cylinder drives the pistons up and down (Helman, 2015) and because the engine is a closed system the expansion of gases cause the pistons to move (Saab, 2015). An introduction to a 2010 study points out that there are more concepts to the Stirling engine then just mechanics saying, The Stirling engine is based on the materials, development, and design of the engine to determine how well it works ...
