An affordable dual-axis solar tracking system for low capacity PV applications is proposed. Dual-axis tracking increases energy efficiency but existing systems are not feasible for large-scale or Indian applications. The project aims to design an economically feasible and scalable dual-axis tracking system using 3D printing, topology optimization, and sensor-based tracking algorithms. A preliminary design is presented using a socket joint base, hollow ball joint panel holder, and LDR sensors to track the sun's movement and power electric motors controlling each axis.

This paper presents a new method (the Unrestricted Wind Farm Layout Optimization (UWFLO)) of arranging turbines in a wind farm to achieve maximum farm efficiency. The powers generated by individual turbines in a wind farm are dependent on each other, due to velocity deficits created by the wake effect. A standard analytical wake model has been used to account for the mutual influences of the turbines in a wind farm. A variable induction factor, dependent on the approaching wind velocity, estimates the velocity deficit across each turbine. Optimization is performed using a constrained Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm. The model is validated against experimental data from a wind tunnel experiment on a scaled down wind farm. Reasonable agreement between the model and experimental results is obtained. A preliminary wind farm cost analysis is also performed to explore the effect of using turbines with different rotor diameters on the total power generation. The use of differing rotor diameters is observed to play an important role in improving the overall efficiency of a wind farm.
Comparative performances analysis of different rotor types for pmsg used in w...Mellah Hacene
PMSG provides a high performance, compact size, light weight, and low noise, without forgetting its simple structure, high thrust, and ease of maintenance, allow replacing steam catapults in the future. Most turbine generators at low wind speed are presented PMSGs, These it has advantages of high efficiency and reliability, since there is no need of external excitation and loss of drivers are removed from the rotor. In this paper, a comparative PMSG performance study's with several rotor topology is presented, each topology rotor has its own permanent magnet structure that is width, thickness and angle. These results are obtained by finite element method (FEM); this approach is a powerful and useful tool to study and design PMSGs, as represented in this paper.

Analysis of control systems of small hydro power plant on islanding operation...Himanshu Paghdal
The purpose of the work is to analyse the control system of small hydropower plants. During this operation, the islanding operation and the grid connection will be controlled by the scheme. Micro-hydro-electric power is an efficient and astonishing form of a clean source of renewable energy.
It is a super method of using renewable energy from small rivers. It can only be built on the type of river due to the requirement of a reservoir for power turbine. The water is passed directly through the turbine and it will pass continuously so that we can also be used for other purposes.
Hydropower plant can be discharged in three parts, controllers, hydro servo systems and hydro turbines. The additives of these parts, called hydro-turbine governors, which are connected to the synchronous generator to run the shaft generated by the turbine's mechanical energy, are converted into electrical energy. This arrangement is giving power to the mutual electrical 3-stage parallel RLC load. Modules are designed on Simulink.

Development of Solar Tracking System Using IMC-PID Controller
In the past, solar cells are hooked with fixed elevating angles, and it does not track the sun. Therefore the efficiency of the power generation is low. The stability and improved speed of response can only be achieved with appropriate controller to take care of external disturbances and design uncertainty associated with a conventional controller. The IMC controller would be used to allow good tracking ability and good load disturbance rejection. Modeling of a dual axis solar tracker. An IMC-PID controller was developed for a dual axis solar tracker.

In this paper, a time stepping 2D and 3D FEM is performed for modeling and analysis external rotor DFIG .The finite element method currently represents the state-of-the-art in the numerical magnetic field computation relating to electrical machines. FEM is a numerical method to solve the partial differential equations (PDE) that expresses the physical quantities of interest, in this case Maxwell’s equations. This will result in a more accurate result compared to analytical modeling, which can be regarded as a simplification of the PDE. FEM analysis is used for transient mode, magnetic field calculation, the magnetic flux density and vector potential of machine is obtained. In this model we including, non linear material characteristics, eddy current effect, torque-speed characteristics, ambient temperature effect and magnetic analysis are investigated using MAXWELL program. With this program, the components of the DFIG can be calculated with high accuracy.
Modeling and Simulation of Self Excited Induction Machine for Wind Power Gene...IDES Editor
Objective of this paper is to propose modeling and
simulation of self-excited induction machine for wind power
generation (SEIMWPG). The earlier models of such
generators capable of generating electric power are facing
huge mechanical losses due to wear and tear in the tightly
coupled mechanical gear systems. Due to this heavy
arrangement in each and every constituent mechanical
assembly, the earlier design could not provide maximum
efficiency. In this paper the proposed model focuses on the
performance of the system using the concept of variation of
mutual inductance in the generator windings. This new model
can be possible to generate maximum power with the variation
of mutual inductance of stator and rotor windings irrespective
of the variation of wind velocities. The complete system is
modeled and simulated in the MAT LAB/ SIMULINK
environment. The results of this renewable model and design
are to promote green energy systems in the future.

This project shows some ease in adding, editing and deleting the student details. It also provides a less time consuming process for viewing, adding, editing and deleting the marks of the students.
Water scarcity is the lack of fresh water resources to meet the standard water demand. There are two type of water scarcity. One is physical. The other is economic water scarcity.
CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!
Work done in cooperation with James Malloy and David Moelling from Tetra Engineering.
