Pompeii Swot Analysis
Part B
1. Commerce
Commerce played an important part in the economy of Pompeii. Although there was no major
industrial production like we would see today, there is evidence of a wide variety of craft
establishments and thermopolia (restaurants) that have been excavated. The positioning of Pompeii
within Campania meant that it was ideal for trade due to having good access to the Mediterranean
shipping route as well as the Sarno River. The harbour was constantly active with traders keeping
the industry active.
Thermopolia
Due to the large amount of thermopolia in ancient Pompeii and the fact that only rich houses had
private kitchens, we know that thermopolia were popular among poorer citizens who were unable
to afford private kitchens. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Vesuvius erupted was preserved by the ash. In one bakery, 85 loaves were found left in an oven
at the time of the eruption showing the demand for shop brought bread was high. This tells us
that bread was a popular part of Ancient Pompeiian diets and also about trading that took place
within the region. Because bread did not have the additives it does today, it went stale quickly and
had to be purchased daily and therefore had to be baked daily.
We know that Pompeii traded with the east as baking requires mass production of flour, and soft
wheat was produced in the east. It would make sense that Pompeii traded to get this wheat as the
town is on sea trading routes. The Production of bread and cakes would have driven thirst and
demand for drinks like wine which would have boosted the economy.
From this fresco we can see how the bakery was setup. The loaves of bread were stacked on the
counter for the merchant to hand to the customers. It is obvious from this fresco that the bakery
was a place of trade as the merchant can be seen exchanging money with the customer. This tells us
that bakeries were an important part of Pompeiian economy and a good source of income for

The Four Forms Of Government In Plato s The Republic
In Plato s The Republic, we are introduced to four forms of government, their causes, their reign,
and their downfall. These four forms of government are timocracy, oligarchy, democracy, and
tyranny. The most intriguing and well known form to us is perhaps democracy with its rights and
said freedoms . It is best to examine the fine details of the institution that we as Americans, and most
importantly as humans, get the privilege to enjoy. Democracyhas its humble beginnings, time to
govern, and time to be replaced.
Like all forms of government, democracy must start as an idea and make its way into effect.
Democracy can be found in nations where poverty and prosperity are both common, such as here in
the modern day United States and ancient ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When a democracy is finally established the people feel as if they have won and their voice is
finally heard. Democracy is described as being the son of a stingy oligarchic man who is driven
by his unnecessary appetites. A constitution is set up in favor of not just the majority or the
minority but for the state as a whole. In a democracy the people are encouraged to think freely
and to form opinions on how their government should work or think. Opposition is inevitable in
a democracy and different view points are bound to happen. If one side attempts to shun the
ideas of one group because it does not align with their ideals then that should not be welcome.
Opposing viewpoints are guaranteed under a democracy and we should not discredit those who
do not agree with us. When the people are given the chance to vote they are given an opportunity
that only the free may utilize. Voting is perhaps the greatest quality of a free and fair democracy.
If the electors vote for someone who is educated, fair, and well intentioned then they become one
step closer to achieving peace and prosperity. If the electors vote for someone who is unfit to hold
power then they have put their rights and freedom in grave danger. The unfit will use their power
and ability to oppress the people and scrap everything a democracy has

The Interlopers by Saki (30 marks ) 1. Plot tell where each of the following occurs in The

narrow strip of woodland for three generations. initial incident While patrolling this strip of

Since it was night and storming, the accident was not seen and heard. Had the tree not fallen,
one of the men would have shot the other, totally changing the final conflict, the ending of the
story and the character change that each man made. 5. Point of View explain the point of view
from which The Interlopers is told. The story is told in the limited omniscient point of view.
Saki tells the story in third person, but from the viewpoint of von Gradwitz, looking at events
through his eyes. We know everything that goes on in the mind of von Gradwitz, but nothing
about what Znaeym is feeling or thinking unless, of course, he expresses his feelings in some
way. While we can observe the external actions of both characters, we see into von Gradwitz s
mind. Our consciousness is limited to von Gradwitz, as we see events from his viewpoint only. 6.
Title Who are the interlopers in the story? In what way are they interlopers? The wolves are the
interlopers. An interloper is an intruder, or one who interferes. The wolves intrude, interfere, on the
truce made by the men. Unless a miracle occurs in the minds of the hunters who find the heads of
the two families dead, the truce will have died with the two men, and the three generation old feud
may continue to thrive for many more generations. 7. Irony With what kind of irony does The

The Seventh Shot Essay
The first shot is a medium shot of the murderer because it captures him from the waist up. This
shot is taken at eye level because the camera seems to be placed at the subject s height. Since the
film is black and white, the lighting is moderate high key and high contrast. The bright colors are
not washed out. The depth of focus is deep because all three planes of focus, foreground, mid
ground, and background, are equal in focus. The filmspeed is fast stock because there is very little
light and it looks grainy. The camera movement used in this shot is tilt because it seems like the

Good Vs Evil In Frankenstein
While standing over the recently departed body of his inventor, Victor Frankenstein s creature
reflects that he had cast off all feeling, subdued all anguish, to riot in the excess of [his] despair.
The creature uses his anger to dispel the pain of his rejection from society to purge himself of
morals, finishing that evilthenceforth became [his] good (220). What constitutes good and evil for
the creature, however, is rather hazy, and what constitutes good and evilfor the rest of humanity is
even less clear. Nonetheless, through Frankenstein, Mary Shelley implies that humans are
predisposed to strive for goodness, which is defined by health and compassion, but that despite this,
humans are inclined to act in self interest.
Despite that humans are inclined toward good, Victor and the monster make poor decisions
because of their self interest. Both Frankenstein and his creature, although they ultimately cause
the deaths of many innocent individuals, are initially good: the creature especially exhibits the
natural human quality of empathy. He reflects that his heart was fashioned to be susceptible of
love and sympathy, and when wrenched by misery to vice and hatred, it did not endure the
violence of the change without torture such as you cannot even imagine (219). He is predisposed
to see the best in, and therefore sympathize with, other people. Victor is also initially good: he has
compassion for his family. He values his friends and family, especially his fiancГ©e,

Summer Break Argumentative Essay
This question has been asked many times with school board officials let s look at the facts,
Summer break started because the children of poor farmers would miss school in order to help
their families harvest they would miss many days of school and wouldn t be able to learn as
much as the children whose families were wealthy. They eventually decided to shorten the
calendar so that no one could miss school. Here in the 21 st century no one needs to miss school,
nowadays a small amount of people have families that own farms but the children don t have to
miss school to work on them! Summer break is now a fun break, but do kids really need it? I
believe they don t there are enough missed school days from three day weekends to spring break
there really is no point to have the school calendar shortened anymore. So should we keep Summer?

state standardized tests. The summer also proves to be the time where students have no need to
do any learning which allows students to come back to school with no new knowledge and only
vague memories of their previous lessons. To reiterate, School should be all year long. The
benefits from this decision affect teachers, parents, and the students themselves.Making the school
year longer would make a great impact on people s lives. Year long school would allow families
to work instead of watch their child, teachers to not have to get a second job,and the school having
better grades because of the students extra practice. That is why school should be all year

Industrial Revolution s Impact On The Market Revolution
In the nineteenth century the Industrial Revolution had a huge impact on the market revolution.
The technological innovation in transpiration and communication all helped connect the nation, and
opened up new markets. Previously, most seamstress were self sufficient, but some would make a
few articles of clothing and sell. It wasn t until the sewing machine were they could produce several
pieces of clothing. The advances in technology led the way, and open a new market for the textile
industry it also created many opportunities for women. Lowell, Massachusetts became one of the
most important cities during the Industrial Revolution, and was the center for the textile industry.
By the early 1820s many of largest textile factories were built in Lowell, and with so many new
technological changes the city soon, became a large factorytown. For example the sewing machine,
and the new main source of energy steam power, but also new advance in transportation helped to

Theme Of Prejudice In 12 Angry Men
Back in 1957 MGM released a film directed by Sidney Lumet that is considered a masterpiece
today same as it was back then. There is a very good reason for that, this film has aged very well.
It deals with the same topics we have to deal with in today s society. Today it seems people are
just as divided as they were in the 50 s. That is what 12 Angry Men does so well, it handles the
topic of prejudice. How does it show this? 12 Angry Men shows us different jurors with different
prejudices that are revealed through their attitudes, beliefs, and words.
It is easy to spot prejudice through attitude because of the way they act around or talking about
the person or a community they have a prejudice about. Prejudice is an unjustified or incorrect
attitude (usually negative) towards an individual based solely on the individual s membership of a
social group (McLeod 1). In the film almost, everyone is ready to sentence an eighteen year old
boy to death for murder. Most do this just because of the evidence, but jurors three and ten have
different attitudes about the situation. Juror three has a different attitude because of his son and the
relationship he created there. He abused his son and now he has left him, the guilt he has is more
than apparent through his anger. Juror ten also shows anger and it is not apparent as to why until
later when he starts speaking.
The beliefs of the individual characters can say a lot about them because it reinforces their
prejudices. Juror ten

to a party where he had been promised new faces, there had been fifteen people in the room, and

with him, but the first snow had just begun to fall and the big Christmas trees glittered yellow and

I would come to understand the particular moral of the story.
It would be a long while because, quite simply, I was in love with New York. I do not mean love
in any colloquial way, I mean that I was in love with the city, the way you love the first person
who ever touches you and you never love anyone quite that way again. I remember walking
across Sixty second Street one twilight that first spring, or the second spring, they were all alike
for a while. I was late to meet someone but I stopped at Lexington Avenue and bought a peach

Determination Of Hydrochlorimetry Lab Report
Who has the same solid that I have? Submitted by: Leslie Tran October 11th, 2017 Abstract: The
properties of an unknown compound were determined and used to identify which other groups in
the lab section had the same unknown compound. Using a variety of tests such as determining the
relative solubility of the unknown, its relative melting point, the electrical conductivity of the
substance and its aqueous solutions, its appearance in flame, its reactivity, and the acidity/basicity
of the aqueous solutions, these observations were used to compare with another unknown
compound. When determining the compound s reactivity to hydrochloric acid (HCI), both samples
4 and 12 created a fizzing and bubbling reaction.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Samples 6 and 8 had many similar properties to sample 4 such as its solubility, its powdery
physical characteristics, and its relative melting point. However, the results that identified the
match was the compound s reactivity because only samples 4 and 12 had the same reactivity to all
three chemical compounds. Therefore, the reactivity test was conducted again because this
property differs from the others. It was observed that only samples 4 and 12 had a fizzing and
bubbling reaction to hydrochloric acid and no changes occurred when tested with lead nitrate and
sodium hydroxide. The relative solubility test was also used as another confirmatory test because
only four groups had an insoluble compound. Therefore, this test not only verified the similar
solubility between samples 4 and 12 but it also eliminated the other

Mongol Trial
In this trial we witnessed how the Mongol empire affected the lives of people in Eurasia. As a jury
member of the trail of Genghis Khan, I have decided that the mongols were civilized due to the
religious tolerance, advancements and stimulation of trade.
There was a common theme on the prosecuting side of lack of religious tolerance from the
mongols, but the witness testimonies were circumstantial to a specific region or rule. It is
inevitable for soldiers and generals to force people to join their own religion, but that does not take
away from the overall religious tolerance of the mongols and their predecessors talked about. There
was Buddhist and Muslims in the upper class positions that were kept strictly for the mongols

The philosopher also spoke of Genghis Khan s building of colleges and buildings to support the
collaboration of ideas and thought this would improve the rate of advancements. The ability for the
mongol to effectively build infrastructure and gather philosophers proves the civility of their empire.
The last major point of the defence was the stimulation of trade caused by the mongols. A
merchant talked about the increase of trade in Eurasia. There was an undeniable influx of trade in
Asia that was directly caused by the mongol rule, this was caused by the mongols reopening or
revitalizing of the silk trade routes and the spending of the major mongolian wealth to increase
trade through western Europe and Asia. The revitalizing of trade is evidence that the mongols were
civilized to properly improve the trade routes and protection on the trade routes.
The prosecution also had a good point on the mongolian viciousness and unrelenting destruction of
cities and the murder of the innocent civilians does play a role the mongols being uncivilized. But
many other empires such as the Roman empire killed many but were classified as civilized. After
this long and hard fought trail I have decided in favor of the

Essay Judith and Maidservant with the Head of Holofernes
I had never heard of the artist Artemisia Gentileschi before this introductory Art course. Of all the
paintings and sculptures found within the book, it was her work that stood out and spoke to me.
Judith and Maidservant with the head of Holofernes is a particularly rich oil painting by the
Italian Gentileschi, painted circa 1625 Europe. Her large canvas measures 72 and 1/2 inches by 55
and 3/4 inches and began as a biblical story telling inspiration come to life within the oil. Located at
the Detroit Institute of Arts, the paintingwas a gift to the institute from Art collector Mr. Leslie H.
Green in 1952. Artemisia was the daughter of a painter (and caravaggioinfluenced) Orazio
Gentileschi, she was also the wife of little known artist... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Artemisia continued an affair with Agostino under the promise of marriage, when the marriage
never happened, her father brought charges against Tassi and a trial ensued, to which Artemisia was
tortured during a gynecological examination for the trial. Again life imitating art and a testament
toward the women depicted in her paintings. Miss Gentileschi married a man named Pierantonio
Stiattesi and they moved to Florence. As mentioned, Artemisia had 5 children, however only her
daughter Prudentia survived into adulthood. After her mother s death in 1656, Prudentia
disappeared from history.
I believe, as do others, Judith and the Maidservant with the head of Holofernes is perhaps homage
to her rape and subsequent treatment during her adolescent years. Her painting`s inspiration also
plays tribute to the biblical story of Judith, who sleeps with the King Holofernes and than
decapitates the drunk King in his sleep. Both Judith and the maidservant are now dominate in the
painting over the dead male, they are quiet, unobtrusive and tense. A single candle burns within
the dark room creating stark contrast between light and dark. The artist`s great skill can be seen
in the bright highlighted details of Judith s hand and in the folds of clothing of the two. Depth and
dark core detail can also be seen in the dark and reflective shadow areas within the room. Judith s
hand covers the candlelight as she peers at the outside world, perhaps in an attempt to help in

which cause the muscles to become paralyzed. It has two kinds of neurotoxins (postsynaptic and
presynaptic) that usually affect the nerve endings located close to the synaptic cleft of the brain.
6. Inland Taipan
This snake has the most venom, more than any other snake in the world. If left untreated, the death
rate from a bite from this snake is eighty percent. That being said, this snake does not usually bite,
is actually easy going, and stays away from confrontation.

Robert Hayden, The Middle Passage Essay
Robert Hayden was an American poet and educator who also served as a consultant in the
Library of Congress from 1976 1978. He was born and raised in a poor Detroit neighborhood,
Paradise Valley. Growing up was emotionally devastating for Hayden as he spent time living at

participate in sports growing up due to impaired vision, so he spent the majority of his time
reading. He went on to graduate high schoolin 1932, attended Detroit City College and later

Everything in this earth is in a continuous state of enhancing, refining, raising ...improving. In
order to make progress we should know what prevent us from being successful, what specifically
causes this type of social anxiety. Form my own experiences, I have realized that the fear of
speaking in public is triggered by three things fear of forgetting, fear of judgment and
expectation of perfection. Even though I practice before I give a speech that is not enough for
me to succeed. Being in front of the audience makes me feel anxious, nervous, apprehensive and
concerned. Sometimes these symptoms makes me forget everything. As McDermott said, Much
of the pressure and anxiety of public speaking arises from the unrealistic expectation of recalling
every word of talk in its exact order. So I try not to memorize all the information, instead I
connect my ideas by using different methods. In this way I manage the fear of forgetting. In
addition speaker, including myself, are also concerned about the audience s judgment. The main
purpose is to grab their attention, share ideas and have a good feedback form them. If you show
that you know the material very well, you are enough prepared and confident in yourself fear
starts to minimize. The opposite will result in loss of self esteem, concentration and control of the
situation. And the third cause of stage fright is expectation of perfection. Personally, when I have a

Analysis Of Donald Trump s Campaign
In an effort to control mentioning of Donald Trump, close examination of popular media outlets
with large audiences will enable the campaign to see changes to rhetoric or schedule of
statement releases (there are, on average, over 200,000 mentions every month). (Politico Staff,
2016) Campaign staff as well as Trump himself will be speaking with media in a manner that
promotes a tight hold on delegates over the course of the election. Rallies will require significant
control efforts because of protesters. Press conferences will enable the campaign to release
accurate information at appropriate times. This helps keep information circulating in the public to
be favorable. Social media is now a substantial part of elections. Releasing information and ads on
Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube will generate needed feedback from audiences.
Resources will be allocated to these sources of information because it is the most effective way of
controlling what information flows around in the public, thus allowing the campaign to have a
good amount of control on publicity and media coverage.
The testing aspect occurs at many different ventures around the web from News polls to focus group

Robin Hood Cultural Influences
The story of Robin Hood, the famous archer and advocate for the poor, has been adapted into
hundreds of books, films, and television series. However, Robin Hood was not always depicted as
a beloved hero, stealing from the rich and redistributing to the poor. In fact, many early
representations of Robin Hood characterize him as a morally ambiguous, primarily self interested
yeoman. Regardless of the highly varying interpretations of the character, Robin Hoods adventures
seem to resonate with audiences through the ages and the narrative has no doubt had a profound
impact on modern day media and culture. Yet, despite this tremendous cultural influence, the roots
of the legend of Robin Hood remain largely unknown. There are three predominant... Show more

This has led to a multitude of suggested identities for Robin Hood. One primary candidate for the
real Robin Hood was Robert Hobbehod, a fugitive of the early 13th century. Sir J.C. Holt, an
English medieval historian, supports this theory as the most likely origin of Robin Hood, pointing
to similarities between Hobbehod and the Robin Hood described in one of his earliest depictions,
A Gest of Robyn Hode:
He was an outlaw. He lived at a time to which several incidental features of the Gest point and in

four years of the first reference to Hobbe and in areas which included the very county from

Obi Wan And Ammon s Relationship Essay
All classic stories need a companion to the hero. Without this partner, the story would lack
someone to drive the story forward and to motivate the hero. The classic saga Star Wars and
movie Clash of the Titans share this common theme. This can be seen in the romantic duos Han
and Leia along side Perseus and Andromeda, the mentor relationship between Luke and Obi wan
along with Perseus and Ammon, and the owner relationship with Luke with R2D2 and Perseus
with Pegasus. Firstly, the romantic relationships of Han and Leia and Perseus and Andromeda are

Obi wan and Ammon serve as mentors to the main heroes, both stumbling upon them during
conflict and providing advice and care. Luke and Perseus both start out fairly naive, but with the
teachings of Obi wan and Ammon they grow as heroes. Obi wan teaches Luke the ways of the
jedi, and Ammon teaches Perseus the ways of the hero. Both mentors save the heroes, Obi wan
finding Luke after being attacked by sand people and saving him. Ammon finds Perseus after
being dropped in an unknown place by Zeus. Both these mentors direct the heroes towards their
goal, Obi wan directing Luke towards Yoda and his end goal of defeating Darth Vader, and
Ammon advising Perseus on how to defeat the Kraken. They both essentially drive the plot
forward, giving the main heroes direction. These mentors also act as parental figures in the
absence of the heroes, Luke having no parents ( to his knowledge, in the first half of the saga) and
losing his aunt and uncle, and Perseus never having met his father and separated from his mother.

Persuasive Essay About Helicopter Parenting
My parents gave me a choice, I could be free to experience and explore the internet, or I would be
monitored and protected from everything I saw. As in my parents see what I see, and I see what
they want me to see. Instinctively I took this as an insult, did they not trust me, was my mother
trying to smother me? Truthfully, they were just trying to look out for me and try helicopter
parenting, opposing from their usually lenient style of parenting. As we had a discussion on my
presence on the internet, I began to be creeped out about the idea my parents were spying on me,
so I told them they had nothing to worry about and that I would still be open to the idea of

Itcertainly isn t required for good child learning. And to the extent that we do manage to solve
all of our children s problems or keep those problems from ever even popping up we are doing

them away from the real source of confidence and independence, which comes comes from
navigating the world and its surprises. Especially the unpleasant ones (Skenazy 92).
For this reason many parents should advocate raising self reliant and responsible kids that learn
from their mistakes and grow from them. Mistakes are wrong, but good for developing mindsets.
In order to learn we must reflect on our mistakes which means always moving forward to bigger

How Might An Organization s Culture And Structure Impact...
How might an organization s culture and structure impact work life balance? Work life balance has
become an increasingly important topic of interest. Creating a healthy work life balance has been
shown to increase success in both personal and professional arenas (Karakose et al., 2014).
Organizations are now modifying their structureand culture to accommodate for the extra emphasis
placed on this balance. An organization s structure either allows for or hinders this balance.
Structure consists of how the organization s policies, procedures, and processes and their effect on

If this balance is actively pursued by the organization, changes and implementations can be made
to align it with its balance goals. Elissa Tucker (2012) performed an analysis on companies
considered benchmarks for work life balance. Tucker found that best practices offer support for
dual career families, work at home policies and practices, and flexible hours. These common
proceedings among industry standards are aligned with one common theme: flexibility. An
organization with flexibility in regards to employees personal lives has an advantage in
retaining and satisfying top talent. It is with flexibility that organizations are able to
accommodate the requests and concerns generated by work life balance conflicts. Organizations
that are able to serve effectively the requests of its employees do not always resort to protocols.
Finding a solution to an employee s needs may come from not having a policy as much as having
one. Flexibility is, in essence, the ability to find solutions. Today s work environments are
becoming more varied by the task and setting than ever before. An organization structured in a way
that provides alternative and flexible work schedules can have an extreme impact on its employees
work life balances. Life comes with many uncertainties. Employees have many responsibilities and
perform many roles. Flexible work

Finally, in July of 1998 the international community met in Rome to finalize the draft statute, which
is now referred to as the Rome Statute of the ICC. The primary goals of the International Criminal
Court are to achieve justice for all, to end impunity, to help end conflicts, to remedy the deficiencies
of ad hoc tribunals, to take over when national criminal justice institutions are unwilling or unable
to act, and to deter future war criminals.
For nearly half a century almost as long as the United Nations has been in existence the General

Case Of Ledbetter Vs. Goodyear Tire Rubber Co.
The case, Ledbetter vs. Goodyear Tire Rubber Co., was about discrimination against gender.
Ledbetter felt that she was being discriminating against due to her being a female. After reading
over the case, Ledbetter was employed at the company for 19 years. She felt that she was getting
lower ratings and lower raises then the other employees at the company. According to the case,
Ledbetter sued Goodyear for genderdiscriminationin violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act
of 1964, alleging that the company had given her a low salary because of her gender. A jury found
for Ledbetter and awarded her over $3.5 million, which the district judge later reduced to $360,000

After Ledbetter was awarded for the discriminated, Goodyear came back to the court. The
company appealed the decision that was decided by the court. Goodyear argued that due to Title IV
provision that requires discrimination complaints to be made within 180 days of the employer s
discriminatory conduct. When the jury came up with their decision they looked over Ledbetter

Speech On Organic Cosmetics
Every time you look into the mirror, you find the natural health of your skin deteriorating from
problems like aging, acne, blackheads, wrinkles, dark circles etc. The reason is not only the
physiological changes in the skin, due to aging, but the harsh chemicals that come in contact with
our skin. Certified organic cosmetics can provide safe, healthy solutions and benefits to one s skin.
Our skin, being the largest organ of the body, is very sensitive, very porous (over 70% seepage into
the body through the bloodstream), and when it comes in contact with harsh, toxic chemicals,
permanent damage can be caused. These chemicals are not always associated with the environment
that we live in or the food we eat but, many times, can be directly connected to the cosmetics that
we use. These cosmetics, used daily, can be really harsh on our skin as they contain many toxic
chemicals that cause permanent damage to the skin s health. Let s be clear. A toxic substance,

2014 statistic of 57%, shows a substantial increase over this period of time ( Women in the Labor
Force, n.d.). Wage rates for the women in the early 1900 s continues to be approximately half of
what the men earned, as well as there was a division between occupations and business sectors
between the sexes so women were not given many options in the labor force. Many single
women were limited to working in factories or domestic labor. However, as time progressed,
more opportunities such as clerical positions, which were once a male dominated field, began to
open for women. This gave them steady wages, clean and safe working conditions but eventually
had a similar setting as factories and some were even paid per piece wages. Eventually, by the 1920
s, there were even professional fields opening up for the educated femaleworkforce. This gave
women personal independence as they were in positions such as medicine, law and teaching to
name a few. However, these professional women would begin to have problems as we

The face of a young man can be seen in this sculpture. The style employed by the artist is described
as simplistic naturalism. The face is near natural without abstracting any details. This style conveys
essential aspects in order to portray a human like face. Carved into the head are eyes, a nose, and a

The Aztec state could have control of craft production, use, and distribution of such goods. The
precious materials used by the craftsmen were not always local to the Valley of Mexico. The

The demand on craftsmen resulted in them paying their personal tribute through the products of
their labor. Both the crafts and the fine materials could have acted as tribute through their own
merit. These craft products were produced almost entirely for the nobility and government. The
governing body had control over the arts market in terms of professional activity of the craftsmen,

The Influence of Mythology on Literature and Society Essay
The Influence of Mythology on Literature and Society
Edith Hamilton is the author of the book Mythology. This book is about the Mythology of the
Romans and Greeks through her eyes and the way she interprets it. In the beginning of the book
Hamilton writes an introduction to Classical Mythology and how, and why it came about. She
starts off by writing that Greek and Roman Mythology is meant to show us how people felt about
the human race and about where they came from many years ago. She points out that Mythology
describes the Earth when it was young and people cared for the Earth more than today. This is
true, because in today?s world not many people are caring about the Earth and its going by us fast.
She also points out that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An example would be how the Egyptian god?s have different body parts with other bodies and the
Greek gods are humans. Hamilton states that the Egyptians made gods they thought up and made
them in a way that no one has seen before. The Greeks therefore made their gods in there own
image. That made it easier for them to understand them and know how they act. The major point
Hamilton is showing in this introduction is that Mythology is a new to look at life and to
understand it under a different light. Another point she states is that Greek Mythology it?s self, is
so unique that it showed extreme beauty yet fear at that same time. The gods were not to be
completely feared, but respected to the point where you didn?t anger them. Greek Mythology is
also unique, because it doesn?t have many of the things that are in most religion or folklore.
Hamilton states that Greek Mythology didn?t contain Magic or Witches, and in reality didn?t fear
the dead, they actually pitied the dead. Hamilton?s main point in this whole introduction is that
Mythology itself is completely and totally different from any other religion or folklore ever.
Mythology was written in such a beautiful way that upon reading it, it seems real and it begins to
take shape. She is also saying that Greek Mythology was in a way different than normal Mythology
and therefore changed the face of Mythology forever.

How Did Pope John Paul II Impact The World
Pope John Paul II created religious ideas, used (Habit of mind) to innovate (ways to overcome

an exciting, different way.
Pope John Paul II created amazing things, but not in a way you would expect. He created ideas.
Instead of doing things the way everyone else did, he made people think. At an early age, John
Paul was exposed to wonderful outgoing people that inspired him, like Jan Tryanowski. (http:/

he cared about ideas that were advertised there. Pope John Paul was one of the reasons communism

In the book, the Pope has as relentless focus on mercy and forgiveness and indeed has called this
year, the Holy Year of Mercy. Critical to this is his reframing of sin. Rather than seeing it as
something to be despised, he sees it as an opportunity for mercy and forgiveness to manifest itself.
In religious terms, he writes about how the original sin meant humanity is forever wounded. This
means we can distinguish right from wrong, but we will inevitably falter. The mercy of God is
such that he sacrificed his Son, Jesus, to redeem humanity for its sins. And precisely because there

Brand identity and brand image are two distinct yet interrelated dimensions of brand building.
Brand identity entails the strategic efforts of firms to assign a brand with unique characteristics in a
bid to achieve positive perceptions by target consumers (Nandan, 2005).
The ingredients of a brand are the product itself, the packaging, the brand name, the promotion, the
advertising and the overall presentation. The brand owner assembles these attributes and blends
them in a unique way.
A key to enhancing the equity of a brand is the selection of an appropriate branding strategy.
Laforet and Saunders (1999) define branding strategy as the way companies mix and match their
corporate, house, family and individual brand types for their products or services. This mix and
match of brand types generates a variety of options for the companies from which they can select a
suitable branding strategy for a product/ service. Furthermore, McDonald et al. (2001) assert that an
appropriate branding strategy is crucial as it would reinforce the desired positioning and hence
influence purchase behaviour. Unfortunately, even the best brand managers have struggled to
choose the most appropriate branding strategy, in part, due to a lack of academic clarity and

Saint Augustine Essay
Many consider Saint Augustine of Hippo a main figure in the development of orthodox Christian
doctrine during the early Christian Church. Augustine was born in Northern Africa in AD 354. His
father was a pagan and his mother a Christian. Though his parents were not extremely well to do,
they had enough money to allow Augustine to obtain an education in the liberal arts. This
education will eventually affect how he sees Christianity, especially concerning the use of neo
Platonic ideas in Christian theology.
Augustine converted to orthodox Christianity late in life. He struggled with the many earthly things
he needed to give up for a complete conversion of body, mind, and soul. It is in Confessions that
Augustine shows the world ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was during this time that Augustine discovered the appealing ideas that Christianity had to offer.
The most appealing idea of Christianity to Augustine was that it allowed for a logical view of
God, as well having a certain amount of mystery. In Confessions, Augustine continually
discusses the importance of his education in the liberal art as an important aspect of his
understanding of Christianity. Using logic, Augustine understood the Christian ideas of sin, evil,
and God s relationship to humanity and all creation. He believes it is a man s natural state to
want to be near God spiritually, yet in their weak state of flesh, they often move away from the
one thing they yearn for most, which is God. Augustine says of this, В…to praise you [God] is
the desire of man, a little piece of your creation. You stir man to take pleasure in praising you,
because you have made us for yourself, and our heart is restless until it rests in you .
Since the idea of logic in religion was appealing for Augustine, it opened the door for the use of
pagan philosophical ideals to enter Christian doctrine. Augustine was especially interested in the
Platonist and Neo Platonists views on God. Throughout Confessions, Augustine uses many of these
philosophical views to show that Christian ideals are indeed logical. He found

Network Flows
Author: versity. Arthur M. Hobbs, Department of Mathematics, Texas A M Uni

Introduction
In this chapter we solve three very different problems.
Example 1
Joe the plumber has made an interesting offer. He says he has lots of short pieces of varying
gauges of copper pipe; they are nearly worthless to him, but for only 1/5 of the usual cost of
installing a plumbing connection under your house, he will use a bunch of T and Y joints he
picked up at a distress sale and these small pipes to build the network shown in Figure 1. He claims
that it will deliver three gallons per minute ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Example 4
Find a flow in the graph of Figure 3.
Solution:
The path p = s, b, a, t extends from s to t, and seen as a sequence of pipes, the largest amount of
flow that could travel along it is the minimum of the capacities of the pipes comprising it. This
minimum is 2, which is c(s, b)

and also c(b, a). Thus we put number pairs on each of the edges, the second entry being 2 for each
edge in the path and 0 for the other two edges. The result is shown in Figure 4.
Figure 4.
Graph of Figure 3 with flow along path s,b,a,t.
There are two ways we can view a flow, and Example 4 illustrates them both. One view is to
trace out the path from the source to the sink of one or more units of flow. In the example, path
p is such a path. The other view is to measure the total flow in each edge of the graph. This view
is shown in the example by our placing the amount of flow along each edge. Since there is
actually only one flow, namely the orderly procession of fluid from the source to the sink
through the network, these two views must be equivalent.
When solving the problem of finding maximum flows through the graph, the second view is
preferable for two reasons. If we are searching a very large network by hand, it may well be
impossible for us to п¬Ѓnd a best set

The Differences Between Mars And Earth
The atmosphere is defined as the envelope of gases surrounding the Earth or another planet
(Dictionary, 2017). The atmosphere is necessary for human life and without it, human life would
not be sustained. It acts as a protective shield that keeps the Earth warm. Not only does it act as a
protective shield however, it also protects all living things on Earth from the suns extremely
damaging ultraviolet radiation. In addition to this, the atmosphere provides oxygenfor both human
and animals to breathe, and it provides carbon dioxide for plants. Without the atmosphere, life
would not be sustained among all living things (Earth Rice, 2017).
Much to common disbelief, Mars and Earth have many things in common. Some of these factors
include similarities in size, inclination, structure, composition and the presence of water on their
surfaces (Universe Today, 2016). Mars is the next closest planet to Earth. It withholds all
necessary elements needed for life to exist. These include water, carbon dioxide (COв‚‚) and
nitrogen (HowStuffWorks, 2017). There are also unbelievable similarities between Mars
atmosphere and the Earth s atmosphere from billions of years ago. Like Mars, when the Earth
was first formed it had no oxygen and its atmosphere was comprised of carbon dioxide and
nitrogen. Earth was not able to produce oxygen until photosynthetic bacteria developed
(HowStuffWorks, 2017). Mars atmosphere consists of 95.3% carbon dioxide, 2.7% nitrogen, 1.6%
argon and 0.2% oxygen.

Rienhard Heydrich s Death During The Holocaust
The Holocaust was a dark time in humanity s history; a time that should be looked back on in
shame. People lost their compassion and empathy towards one another. These emotions are
essential in keeping peace and harmony throughout the world, and give mankind a natural
kindheartedness towards one another. Having the innate sense to feel for one another and
understand the trials and tribulations others go through is what truly makes us human. This is what
was lost during the Holocaust. The inherent good that humans are born with, was taken away by
Adolf Hitler and his Third Reich. It led to the deaths of entire cultures and millions of innocent
peoples lives were changed for the worse. However, the Nazis did not carry out the mass killings of

According to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Heydrich died in June 1942 from
injuries sustained during an assassination attempt by Czech partisans (United States Holocaust
Memorial Museum). Heydrich was highly regarded by his superiors. Hitler even stated that
Heydrich was one of the best National Socialists, one of the staunchest defenders of the concept
of the German Reich and one of the greatest opponents of all enemies of this Reich (United
States Holocaust Memorial Museum). Before his death, he was tasked with helping structure the
Final Solution. Himmler and Hitler sent him to represent them in the Wannsee Conference in
January 20, 1942, to discuss to the German offices the solution to the Jewish question (United
States Holocaust Memorial Museum). Judging by Hitler s words and Heydrich s high ranking in
the Nazi government, Heydrich was very well respected by Himmler and was his right hand man.
And when Heydrich died in 1942 Himmler was very hurt by it and wanted to carry on his legacy.
This is what triggered Himmler to start the Final Solution. So he commenced Operation Rienhard,
which was named in honor of Heydrich. Operation Rienhard was started in the autumn of 1941
(but later renamed in honor of Heydrich) and marked the start of the Final Solution as history
knows it today (United States Holocaust Memorial Museum). Its goal was to resettle (i.e., to kill)
the Polish Jews, (2) to exploit the skilled or manual labor of some Polish Jews before killing them,
(3) to secure the personal property of the Jews (clothing, currency, jewelry, and other possessions),
and (4) to identify and secure alleged hidden and immovable assets such as factories, apartments,
and land (United States Holocaust Memorial Museum). Death camps were set up in Belzec,
Sobibor, and Treblinka (United States Holocaust Memorial Museum). Heydrich s death and

Suffering Of The Good Samaritan
Suffering performs a significant function in numerous religions, concerning situations like:
consolation or relief; moral behavior, spiritual development through life difficulties or through self
enforced trials, and final destiny. It is supplemented in the Hebrew Bible by the verses found in the
Book of Isaiah and the Book of Jeremiah. They detail the emotional and physical suffering of a
defeated nation with its vanquished residents compelled into the suffering of expulsion and
confinement in a foreign nation. In the New Testament, suffering is depicted in the life of Jesus,
which recounts the suffering of the crucifixion, and in the Easter story. The suffering connected
with punishment is additionally depicted in the Apocalypse of John where suffering at the setting
of the Last Judgment is portrayed as the just compensation for sin and unlawful activity. Pope John
Paul II wrote On the Christian Meaning of Human Suffering. This article focuses on the idea of
redemptive suffering. The parable of the Good Samaritan belongs to the Gospel of suffering. For it
indicates what the relationship of each of us must be towards our suffering neighbour...This is the
meaning of suffering, which is truly supernatural and at the same time human. It is supernatural
because it is rooted in the Divine mystery of the Redemption of the world...deeply human, because
in it the person discovers himself, his own humanity, his own dignity, his own mission. The
following are two reports of

  • 2. Pompeii Swot Analysis Part B 1. Commerce Commerce played an important part in the economy of Pompeii. Although there was no major industrial production like we would see today, there is evidence of a wide variety of craft establishments and thermopolia (restaurants) that have been excavated. The positioning of Pompeii within Campania meant that it was ideal for trade due to having good access to the Mediterranean shipping route as well as the Sarno River. The harbour was constantly active with traders keeping the industry active. Thermopolia Due to the large amount of thermopolia in ancient Pompeii and the fact that only rich houses had private kitchens, we know that thermopolia were popular among poorer citizens who were unable to afford private kitchens. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Vesuvius erupted was preserved by the ash. In one bakery, 85 loaves were found left in an oven at the time of the eruption showing the demand for shop brought bread was high. This tells us that bread was a popular part of Ancient Pompeiian diets and also about trading that took place within the region. Because bread did not have the additives it does today, it went stale quickly and had to be purchased daily and therefore had to be baked daily. We know that Pompeii traded with the east as baking requires mass production of flour, and soft wheat was produced in the east. It would make sense that Pompeii traded to get this wheat as the town is on sea trading routes. The Production of bread and cakes would have driven thirst and demand for drinks like wine which would have boosted the economy. From this fresco we can see how the bakery was setup. The loaves of bread were stacked on the counter for the merchant to hand to the customers. It is obvious from this fresco that the bakery was a place of trade as the merchant can be seen exchanging money with the customer. This tells us that bakeries were an important part of Pompeiian economy and a good source of income for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Four Forms Of Government In Plato s The Republic In Plato s The Republic, we are introduced to four forms of government, their causes, their reign, and their downfall. These four forms of government are timocracy, oligarchy, democracy, and tyranny. The most intriguing and well known form to us is perhaps democracy with its rights and said freedoms . It is best to examine the fine details of the institution that we as Americans, and most importantly as humans, get the privilege to enjoy. Democracyhas its humble beginnings, time to govern, and time to be replaced. Like all forms of government, democracy must start as an idea and make its way into effect. Democracy can be found in nations where poverty and prosperity are both common, such as here in the modern day United States and ancient ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When a democracy is finally established the people feel as if they have won and their voice is finally heard. Democracy is described as being the son of a stingy oligarchic man who is driven by his unnecessary appetites. A constitution is set up in favor of not just the majority or the minority but for the state as a whole. In a democracy the people are encouraged to think freely and to form opinions on how their government should work or think. Opposition is inevitable in a democracy and different view points are bound to happen. If one side attempts to shun the ideas of one group because it does not align with their ideals then that should not be welcome. Opposing viewpoints are guaranteed under a democracy and we should not discredit those who do not agree with us. When the people are given the chance to vote they are given an opportunity that only the free may utilize. Voting is perhaps the greatest quality of a free and fair democracy. If the electors vote for someone who is educated, fair, and well intentioned then they become one step closer to achieving peace and prosperity. If the electors vote for someone who is unfit to hold power then they have put their rights and freedom in grave danger. The unfit will use their power and ability to oppress the people and scrap everything a democracy has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Had the tree not fallen, one of the men would have shot the other, totally changing the final conflict, the ending of the story and the character change that each man made. 5. Point of View explain the point of view from which The Interlopers is told. The story is told in the limited omniscient point of view. Saki tells the story in third person, but from the viewpoint of von Gradwitz, looking at events through his eyes. We know everything that goes on in the mind of von Gradwitz, but nothing about what Znaeym is feeling or thinking unless, of course, he expresses his feelings in some way. While we can observe the external actions of both characters, we see into von Gradwitz s mind. Our consciousness is limited to von Gradwitz, as we see events from his viewpoint only. 6. Title Who are the interlopers in the story? In what way are they interlopers? The wolves are the interlopers. An interloper is an intruder, or one who interferes. The wolves intrude, interfere, on the truce made by the men. Unless a miracle occurs in the minds of the hunters who find the heads of the two families dead, the truce will have died with the two men, and the three generation old feud may continue to thrive for many more generations. 7. This shot is taken at eye level because the camera seems to be placed at the subject s height. Since the film is black and white, the lighting is moderate high key and high contrast. The bright colors are not washed out. The depth of focus is deep because all three planes of focus, foreground, mid ground, and background, are equal in focus. The subsidiary contrast is the back of the mother because her dark coat catches your attention. The shot appears to be in open form because the shot looks random and not staged. He is standing on a sidewalk outside a shop and not posed in a tightly controlled setting. The density of the shot is loose because there s a lot of open space in the frame and he is free to move around. The character proxemics is personal. The mother is grabbing her daughter. • 6. Good Vs Evil In Frankenstein While standing over the recently departed body of his inventor, Victor Frankenstein s creature reflects that he had cast off all feeling, subdued all anguish, to riot in the excess of [his] despair. The creature uses his anger to dispel the pain of his rejection from society to purge himself of morals, finishing that evilthenceforth became [his] good (220). What constitutes good and evil for the creature, however, is rather hazy, and what constitutes good and evilfor the rest of humanity is even less clear. Nonetheless, through Frankenstein, Mary Shelley implies that humans are predisposed to strive for goodness, which is defined by health and compassion, but that despite this, humans are inclined to act in self interest. Despite that humans are inclined toward good, Victor and the monster make poor decisions because of their self interest. Both Frankenstein and his creature, although they ultimately cause the deaths of many innocent individuals, are initially good: the creature especially exhibits the natural human quality of empathy. He reflects that his heart was fashioned to be susceptible of love and sympathy, and when wrenched by misery to vice and hatred, it did not endure the violence of the change without torture such as you cannot even imagine (219). He is predisposed to see the best in, and therefore sympathize with, other people. Victor is also initially good: he has compassion for his family. Summer Break Argumentative Essay This question has been asked many times with school board officials let s look at the facts, Summer break started because the children of poor farmers would miss school in order to help their families harvest they would miss many days of school and wouldn t be able to learn as much as the children whose families were wealthy. They eventually decided to shorten the calendar so that no one could miss school. Here in the 21 st century no one needs to miss school, nowadays a small amount of people have families that own farms but the children don t have to miss school to work on them! Summer break is now a fun break, but do kids really need it? I believe they don t there are enough missed school days from three day weekends to spring break there really is no point to have the school calendar shortened anymore. So should we keep Summer? The benefits from this decision affect teachers, parents, and the students themselves.Making the school year longer would make a great impact on people s lives. • 9. Theme Of Prejudice In 12 Angry Men Back in 1957 MGM released a film directed by Sidney Lumet that is considered a masterpiece today same as it was back then. There is a very good reason for that, this film has aged very well. It deals with the same topics we have to deal with in today s society. Today it seems people are just as divided as they were in the 50 s. That is what 12 Angry Men does so well, it handles the topic of prejudice. How does it show this? 12 Angry Men shows us different jurors with different prejudices that are revealed through their attitudes, beliefs, and words. It is easy to spot prejudice through attitude because of the way they act around or talking about the person or a community they have a prejudice about. Prejudice is an unjustified or incorrect attitude (usually negative) towards an individual based solely on the individual s membership of a social group (McLeod 1). In the film almost, everyone is ready to sentence an eighteen year old boy to death for murder. Most do this just because of the evidence, but jurors three and ten have different attitudes about the situation. Juror three has a different attitude because of his son and the relationship he created there. He abused his son and now he has left him, the guilt he has is more than apparent through his anger. Juror ten also shows anger and it is not apparent as to why until later when he starts speaking. The beliefs of the individual characters can say a lot about them because it reinforces their prejudices. Juror ten ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I can remember now, with a clarity that makes the nerves in the back of my neck constrict, when New York began for me, but I cannot lay my finger upon the moment it ended, can never cut through the ambiguities and second starts and broken resolves to the exact place on the page where the heroine is no longer as optimistic as she once was. I laughed with him, but the first snow had just begun to fall and the big Christmas trees glittered yellow and white as far as I could see up Park Avenueand I had a new dress and it would be a long while before I would come to understand the particular moral of the story. I was late to meet someone but I stopped at Lexington Avenue and bought a peach and stood on the corner eating it and knew that I had come out out of the West and reached the mirage. Submitted by: Leslie Tran October 11th, 2017 Abstract: The properties of an unknown compound were determined and used to identify which other groups in the lab section had the same unknown compound. Using a variety of tests such as determining the relative solubility of the unknown, its relative melting point, the electrical conductivity of the substance and its aqueous solutions, its appearance in flame, its reactivity, and the acidity/basicity of the aqueous solutions, these observations were used to compare with another unknown compound. When determining the compound s reactivity to hydrochloric acid (HCI), both samples 4 and 12 created a fizzing and bubbling reaction.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Samples 6 and 8 had many similar properties to sample 4 such as its solubility, its powdery physical characteristics, and its relative melting point. However, the results that identified the match was the compound s reactivity because only samples 4 and 12 had the same reactivity to all three chemical compounds. Therefore, the reactivity test was conducted again because this property differs from the others. It was observed that only samples 4 and 12 had a fizzing and bubbling reaction to hydrochloric acid and no changes occurred when tested with lead nitrate and sodium hydroxide. The relative solubility test was also used as another confirmatory test because only four groups had an insoluble compound. Therefore, this test not only verified the similar solubility between samples 4 and 12 but it also eliminated the other ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As a jury member of the trail of Genghis Khan, I have decided that the mongols were civilized due to the religious tolerance, advancements and stimulation of trade. There was a common theme on the prosecuting side of lack of religious tolerance from the mongols, but the witness testimonies were circumstantial to a specific region or rule. It is inevitable for soldiers and generals to force people to join their own religion, but that does not take away from the overall religious tolerance of the mongols and their predecessors talked about. The philosopher also spoke of Genghis Khan s building of colleges and buildings to support the collaboration of ideas and thought this would improve the rate of advancements. The ability for the mongol to effectively build infrastructure and gather philosophers proves the civility of their empire. The last major point of the defence was the stimulation of trade caused by the mongols. A merchant talked about the increase of trade in Eurasia. There was an undeniable influx of trade in Asia that was directly caused by the mongol rule, this was caused by the mongols reopening or revitalizing of the silk trade routes and the spending of the major mongolian wealth to increase trade through western Europe and Asia. The revitalizing of trade is evidence that the mongols were civilized to properly improve the trade routes and protection on the trade routes. The prosecution also had a good point on the mongolian viciousness and unrelenting destruction of cities and the murder of the innocent civilians does play a role the mongols being uncivilized. Of all the paintings and sculptures found within the book, it was her work that stood out and spoke to me. Judith and Maidservant with the head of Holofernes is a particularly rich oil painting by the Italian Gentileschi, painted circa 1625 Europe. Her large canvas measures 72 and 1/2 inches by 55 and 3/4 inches and began as a biblical story telling inspiration come to life within the oil. As mentioned, Artemisia had 5 children, however only her daughter Prudentia survived into adulthood. After her mother s death in 1656, Prudentia disappeared from history. I believe, as do others, Judith and the Maidservant with the head of Holofernes is perhaps homage to her rape and subsequent treatment during her adolescent years. Her painting`s inspiration also plays tribute to the biblical story of Judith, who sleeps with the King Holofernes and than decapitates the drunk King in his sleep. Both Judith and the maidservant are now dominate in the painting over the dead male, they are quiet, unobtrusive and tense. A single candle burns within the dark room creating stark contrast between light and dark. The artist`s great skill can be seen in the bright highlighted details of Judith s hand and in the folds of clothing of the two. Speech On Organic Cosmetics Every time you look into the mirror, you find the natural health of your skin deteriorating from problems like aging, acne, blackheads, wrinkles, dark circles etc. The reason is not only the physiological changes in the skin, due to aging, but the harsh chemicals that come in contact with our skin. Certified organic cosmetics can provide safe, healthy solutions and benefits to one s skin. • 38. Female Labor Force And Sterilization Practices I would like to compare and contrast the subject of the Female Labor Force and Sterilization Practices. As the progressive era began, there are a lot of changes for the women s labor force with respect to politics. They were stronger because they stood up for themselves, refusing to be victims any longer and they did so by way of going on strike and making demands (Dubois Dumenil, 2016). The labor force at this time was 18.3% of women, which when compared to the 2014 statistic of 57%, shows a substantial increase over this period of time ( Women in the Labor Force, n.d.). Wage rates for the women in the early 1900 s continues to be approximately half of what the men earned, as well as there was a division between occupations and business sectors between the sexes so women were not given many options in the labor force. Many single women were limited to working in factories or domestic labor. However, as time progressed, more opportunities such as clerical positions, which were once a male dominated field, began to open for women. This gave them steady wages, clean and safe working conditions but eventually had a similar setting as factories and some were even paid per piece wages. Eventually, by the 1920 s, there were even professional fields opening up for the educated femaleworkforce. This gave women personal independence as they were in positions such as medicine, law and teaching to name a few. However, these professional women would begin to have problems as we ... This book is about the Mythology of the Romans and Greeks through her eyes and the way she interprets it. In the beginning of the book Hamilton writes an introduction to Classical Mythology and how, and why it came about. She starts off by writing that Greek and Roman Mythology is meant to show us how people felt about the human race and about where they came from many years ago. She points out that Mythology describes the Earth when it was young and people cared for the Earth more than today. Hamilton states that the Egyptians made gods they thought up and made them in a way that no one has seen before. The Greeks therefore made their gods in there own image. That made it easier for them to understand them and know how they act. The major point Hamilton is showing in this introduction is that Mythology is a new to look at life and to understand it under a different light. Another point she states is that Greek Mythology it?s self, is so unique that it showed extreme beauty yet fear at that same time. The gods were not to be completely feared, but respected to the point where you didn?t anger them. Greek Mythology is also unique, because it doesn?t have many of the things that are in most religion or folklore. Hamilton states that Greek Mythology didn?t contain Magic or Witches, and in reality didn?t fear the dead, they actually pitied the dead. Hamilton?s main point in this whole introduction is that Mythology itself is completely and totally different from any other religion or folklore ever. Mythology was written in such a beautiful way that upon reading it, it seems real and it begins to take shape. She is also saying that Greek Mythology was in a way different than normal Mythology and therefore changed the face of Mythology forever. PART TWO: Aside from mortals and immortals in ... The most appealing idea of Christianity to Augustine was that it allowed for a logical view of God, as well having a certain amount of mystery. In Confessions, Augustine continually discusses the importance of his education in the liberal art as an important aspect of his understanding of Christianity. Using logic, Augustine understood the Christian ideas of sin, evil, and God s relationship to humanity and all creation. He believes it is a man s natural state to want to be near God spiritually, yet in their weak state of flesh, they often move away from the one thing they yearn for most, which is God. Augustine says of this, В…to praise you [God] is the desire of man, a little piece of your creation. You stir man to take pleasure in praising you, because you have made us for yourself, and our heart is restless until it rests in you . Since the idea of logic in religion was appealing for Augustine, it opened the door for the use of pagan philosophical ideals to enter Christian doctrine. Augustine was especially interested in the Platonist and Neo Platonists views on God. Throughout Confessions, Augustine uses many of these philosophical views to show that Christian ideals are indeed logical. He found ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The atmosphere is necessary for human life and without it, human life would not be sustained. It acts as a protective shield that keeps the Earth warm. Not only does it act as a protective shield however, it also protects all living things on Earth from the suns extremely damaging ultraviolet radiation. In addition to this, the atmosphere provides oxygenfor both human and animals to breathe, and it provides carbon dioxide for plants. Without the atmosphere, life would not be sustained among all living things (Earth Rice, 2017). Much to common disbelief, Mars and Earth have many things in common. Some of these factors include similarities in size, inclination, structure, composition and the presence of water on their surfaces (Universe Today, 2016). Mars is the next closest planet to Earth. It withholds all necessary elements needed for life to exist. These include water, carbon dioxide (COв‚‚) and nitrogen (HowStuffWorks, 2017). There are also unbelievable similarities between Mars atmosphere and the Earth s atmosphere from billions of years ago. Suffering Of The Good Samaritan Suffering performs a significant function in numerous religions, concerning situations like: consolation or relief; moral behavior, spiritual development through life difficulties or through self enforced trials, and final destiny. They detail the emotional and physical suffering of a defeated nation with its vanquished residents compelled into the suffering of expulsion and confinement in a foreign nation.
