The Pros And Cons Of Plea Bargai
Plea bargaining is what individuals would rather do to solve their cases and receive their sentencing
rather than bringing their cases to a trial. Countless individuals would rather take a plea deal then go
through with a trial because trials can last a long time and can come to a longer verdict than with a
plea deal. A plea deal is an agreement that the defendant and the prosecution must agree on in hopes to
benefit from the decision (Plea Bargains or Agreements and Sentencing, 2015). Two of the most
common plea deals are either guilty pleas or no contest pleas where the defendant does not admit or
deny that they committed the crime. In the case of Larry Servedio, he should accept the plea deal
because he is only being sentenced for two consecutive counts of second degree kidnapping. Servedio
will serve fifteen years in state prison seven and a half years for each count which is less time than he
would serve in state prison if he was charged for all his crimes. The process of a plea ... Show more

In addition, plea deals allow the prosecutors to free up their time to focus on other cases and ensures a
conviction for the prosecutor. If represented by a private attorney, the defendant saves money by not
having to retain a lawyer as representation any longer. The downside of a plea bargain could leave an
innocent defendant found guilty and charged for a harsher sentence than what a judge would charge.
In addition, plea bargaining could lead to rushed police investigation where they do not take their time
to look over every piece of evidence (The Pros and Cons of Plea Bargaining, 2015). Some judges may
even believe that plea bargaining is unconstitutional because they are settling for a crime that they
committed and not allowing a judge to do

Dr. Jekyll Vs. Hyde
The purpose of the mask is to portray the combined inner psyche of Jekyll and Hyde. There are two
distinct halves of the mask: the left side is Jekyll and the right side is Hyde. The far left side of the
mask is white, which transitions into a light grey further to the right. The far right side is a dark, blood
red. Going towards the middle from the right side, the red becomes lighter. The middle is where these
two colors, grey and red, blend together. The red is slightly to the right of the middle, pushing over
into the left side. The left side, however, has a small amount of tiny lines of red paint, scattered about.
Each of these elements represents the minds of Jekyll/Hyde and how their minds interact with each
other. The white on the very ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Titled Suppressed Emotions Can Lead to Aggression, by Rick Nauert PhD, the article talks about how
scientists from the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Minnesota found, through their
study, that people who must keep their emotions bottled up [...] are more likely to act aggressively (4).
The study was conducted by having the subjects watch two notoriously disgusting classic movie
scenes: one from the 1983 film The Meaning of Life and another from the 1996 film Trainspotting
(Nauert 3). Half of the subjects were allowed to show emotion while the other half were asked to show
no visible reaction to the scenes being played. To determine how aggressive they were after watching
them, they played a video game in which they could blast an online opponent with noise. (In reality,
there was no opponent and no one was blasted, though subjects thought they were doing so.) (Nauert
12). Those who had been told to show no visible reaction set the noise level higher than those that
were able to show emotion

Courtroom 302
A very significant case in Cook County Courts was the Bridgeport case, known as a heater case
because of the publicity that surround it, and the racial overtones (Bogira 181). The Bridgeport case
involved three white teenagers, Michael Kwidzinski, Jasas, and Caruso that were accused of brutally
beating two young black boys who were riding their bikes in the predominantly white neighborhood.
The entire summary of the case, in Courtroom 302, was based around the fact that one of the boys,
Michael Kwidzinski, was most likely innocent. The question then turns to the boy himself, Michael
Kwidzinski; if he was innocent, why did hid then accept a guilty plea bargain?
Kwidzinski was dealing with the case for a year and a half before even getting ... Show more content

Jenson, Caruso s lawyer, wanted to call two girls from the party to testify against Guadagno. Judge
Locallo said the state would then be allowed to call Deena, Caruso s ex girlfriend, to testify. Deena s
statement would then not only implicate Guadagno in the case but it would also place Caruso, Jenson
s client, at the scene of the crime (Bogira 329). If Guadagno would have been forced to testify he
would have been viewed as the third criminal and could have cleared Kwidzinski of any charges.
A significant reason the courts continued with prosecuting Kwidzinski was that reversing the charges
would make people question the legitimacy of the case all together. The state s attorney s office had
already charged three alleged attackers. If there was any doubt of Kwidzinski being involved in the
case there would be a problem with the lawyers of the other two attackers by trying to jump on the
bandwagon to freedom. Even though Kwidzinski may have been justifiably innocent and wrongly
accused, the attorneys for Jasas and Caruso would have claimed their clients were wrongly accused as
well.
Another major reason for keeping the prosecution for Kwidzinski going is when prosecuting attorney
O Reilly presented to the grand jury a request for an indictment on Caruso, Jasas amp; Kwidzinski, he
presented one

Mary Rowlandson and Benjamin Franklin s Storied of...
Mary Rowlandson: A Narrative of the Captivity and Restoration of Mrs. Mary Rowlandson
And Benjamin Franklin: The Autobiography Every literature story has an importance of a great leader
or a survivor. There are apparent themes in this captivity narrative such as the doubt of life. The story
of Mary Rowlandson and Benjamin Franklin wrote a narrative of their life experience and their
adventure. They learn from the attack that no one is guaranteed life, and life can be short. There are
clear contrast and comparison between these two individuals connected to their observation of God. In
the colonial American time, religion was a vital part of life.

Franklin, stated, I had been religiously educated , I seldom attended any public Worship (562).
Franklin formed his own fate in relation with his belief. The ideas he mission were righteousness,
justice and belief that happiness may be found in worldly values. I believe both individual were
establishing an identity free from the native land, although Rowlandson was taking away. In Franklin s
Autobiography, he was seeking to establish a new identity for the new world. This parallels
Rowlandson in that she at the end of her captivity has evolved into a new person. Although
Rowlandson has placed her fate more in God s hand. Franklin suggested that man controls his own
destiny but also makes reference throughout to God. I believe he must deal with his excessive pride,
even as Rowlandson has dealt with her own vanity.
Despite the cultural differences I learned a lot about Rowlandson and Franklin s time. The
Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin was not an easy book to read. Benjamin Franklin was a
remarkable man. He was a printer, author, politician and an inventor (PECO). Because of Franklins,
this essay is being written about one of the men responsible for America s success today. The captivity
narratives of Rowlandson served to define goodness and women s proper devotion to their religion,
and to give a religious message about the value of faith in times of harsh conditions. The belief of
Rowlandson and Franklin in God did help to form our

Haitian revolution Essay
In 1791 revolution broke out in the French colony of Saint Domingue, later called Haiti. The Haitian
Revolution resounded in communities surrounding the Atlantic Ocean. One of the wealthiest European
outposts in the New World, the Caribbean island s western third had some of the largest and most
brutal slave plantations. Slave laborers cultivated sugar, coffee, indigo, and cotton, and they endured
horrible death rates, requiring constant infusions of slaves from Africa. In 1789 roughly 465,000 black
slaves lived in the French colony on the island, along with fewer than 31,000 whites. In addition, there
were about 23,000 free blacks and mixed race people called gens de couleur, who might own land and
accrue wealth but had no political ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The war became more complicated in 1793 when the British invaded Saint Domingue. The Spanish,
who had a colony on the eastern two thirds of Hispaniola, also entered the fray by supporting armies
of escaped slaves, including a force under the command of an ex slave named Toussaint Louverture.
Pressed on all sides, commissioners from republican France, led by Leger Felicte Sonthonax in the
northern part of the colony, began to extend freedom and citizenship to every slave in summer and
autumn 1793. Inspired by this application of the rights of man, the French National Convention
abolished slavery in all French possessions on February 4, 1794. This action transformed the conflict.
Louverture abandoned the Spanish and began to fight for the French and the freedom of his people.
Over the next couple of years, Louverture consolidated power on the island and created rigid rules that
compelled ex slaves to work on plantations so as to make the island productive again. In 1795,
because of events in Europe, the Spanish signed a peace treaty that ceded their colony on the island to
the French. In 1798 Louverture negotiated a treaty with the British, convincing them to leave the
island and promising not to support any slave rebellions in British colonies. He also sought to develop
commercial relations with the United States, even as the Quasi War (1798 1800) broke out with
France, by sending Joseph Bunel to Philadelphia. Bunel was so successful that he dined

What Are Horace Mann s Principles Of Education
Horace Mann, who is also known as the Father of American Public Education, is best known for his
determination in reforming the public schooling system of the United States of America in the early
1800s. Horace Mann was born on May 4, 1796 in Franklin, Massachusetts to his parents, Thomas
Mann and Rebecca Stanley Mann. Growing up in poverty, Horace Mann learned to be self reliant
from an early age. Although Horace, himself, did not have a proper education from the ages of 10 to
20, he self studied at his local library. At the age of 20, Mann enrolled himself into Brown University
and graduated as the top of his class in 1819. During 1822 23, he studied law at Litchfield Law
School. In 1827, Mann was elected to the Massachusetts legislature and served until 1833. In 1835,
Mann was elected to the Massachusetts State Senate and was its president from 1836 to 1837. In 1837,
Horace Mann was appointed as secretary of the Board ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He stated his six main principles addressing the problems of the public schooling system. His first
statement was that the public should not remain ignorant for long. The second statement was that the
public should take interest in paying for and maintaining education. The third statement was that the
best education can be provided in schools that welcome children from different social classes,
religions, and ethnic backgrounds. The fourth statement was that education should be free from
sectarian influence. The fifth statement was that tenets of a free society should prevail while
separating from education. Finally, the last statement is that education should be provided by well
trained, professional teachers. Many of social and political groups did not agree with Mann s beliefs.
Priests were angered by Mann s belief that religion should not be part of the classroom, and politicians
hesitated at the overreach of authority in the local school

Gender Stereotypes In Whale Rider
Paikea Apirana is the protagonist of the movie with 11 years old. She is the completely opposite of her
grandmother. She is a model of a female counter stereotype; in different words, she is not submise,
passive and weak. In fact, Paikea is an intelligent, confident, strong, curious and bold young girl who
stranded up to the advantages against her of prospering in a male dominated society. In different ways,
Paikea presents characteristics that look like the male stereotype. Paikea knew from the instant of her
birth that she was not liked. Paikea had a soliloquy at the starting of the movie, where she manifests
that there was no gladness when I was born. My twin brother died and took my mother with him.
Everyone was waiting for the first born boy to lead us, but he died and I didn t (Whale Rider, 2002).
Her grandfather often reproves her for being a girl because only boys can carry on the ritual of being
the descendant of the divine Whale Rider of the Sea. Her grandfather looked her with disdain and
viewed her as a load because she could not realize this role, even although she was always trying to
satisfy him of her odds. For example, when her grandfather s boat s string was broken, Paikea took the
lead to tie the string back and rev up the motor. Without accept her cunning, he discards her ability and
tells her, don t do that again, it s dangerous (Whale Rider, 2002).

Leslie Silko s A Man To Send Rain Clouds
In our time traditions have always been fought for. This value of conflict has caused people to hurt
each other, tear down fortified infrastructures, use weapons of science, and tear nations apart.
Historically, traditions are sensitive practices that cannot be served by any means. Which even means
today in our era that these extremes are still indefinitely possible.
However, our era we live in has grown into a larger being that holds even greater value over its own
life. Written by Leslie Silko A Man to Send Rain Clouds is a fascinating story of how the New
Mexican cultures create a harmonious place for their traditional differences. Additionally the author
Silko comes from a Native American Background, she grew up in between cultures in her own story
and knew very well the gaps separating them.
In A Man to Send Rain Clouds, Silko sketches for the reader pages of two specific cultures that
foretell a battle of socially tensive obstructions between them. As for the story goes an improvisation
of snakes had grown their influences across the land. While expanding the snakes encountered a new

INTRODUCTION
Spectroscopy is used as a collective term for all the analytical techniques based on the interaction of
light and matter. Spectrophotometry is one of the branches of spectroscopy where we measure the
absorption of light by molecules that are in a gas or vapour state or dissolved molecules/ions (Tombs,
et.al, 1959). Spectroscopy is the use of electromagnetic radiation by a sample in order to identify
components of the sample (qualitative analysis) or to measure the amount of material in that sample
(quantitative analysis) (Tombs, et.al, 1959). Absorption is a process in which ... Show more content on

What Is Biotechnology And Its Ramification To Breast Cancer
Biotechnology and its Ramification to Breast Cancer According to the Centers of Disease Control and

breast cancer. And 41,211 women and 465 men in the United States died from breast cancer (U.S.

if the clinicians, physicians, and oncologists utilized the Mammaprint. To understand the way

Warburg), the standard process in cancer metabolism (Gentric, 2017).
We need to consider the significant role of TME, especially CAFs and immune cells, which
profoundly participate in the metabolic interplay with neoplastic cells. CAFs and immune cells can
collectively adapt to the metabolic needs of cancer cells and thus participate in tumorigenesis.
Metabolic balance between all these players also promotes resistance to treatments, including not only
the conventional chemotherapy or radiotherapy but also the most recent and advanced
immunotherapies. Characterizing the mutual metabolic interplay between stromal, immune, and
neoplastic cells will likely provide a better understanding of tumor progression and treatment
resistance (Gentric, 2017).
Biomarkers and Genetic Polymorphism
Genome studies have identified about 80 or more genetic variants or single nucleotide polymorphisms
(SNPs) linked with breast cancer risk. Each variant only discreetly alters breast cancer risk; however,
together they add large risk data to current risk analysts. Therefore, when added to traditional risk
models, such as the Gail model, the Tyrer Cuzick model and/or the Breast Cancer Surveillance
Consortium (BSCC) model, a combination of genetic risk factors can be used to increase risk
arrangement. Risk arrangements with SNPs and other genetic alternates may also be useful to aid in
other decisions for breast cancer prevention and screening. For

Summary Of The First Case Of Edward De Vere
The first case made for Edward De Vere was first made in 1918 by a man named J. Thomas Looney.
Looney was a Gateshead schoolmaster and later became famous for his publication of Shakespeare
Identified. He first started his research on Shakespeare because he was absolutely convinced that
Shakespeare was a pseudonym, but he was not convinced that Sir Francis Bacon was the real author.
After this realization, Looney went on to make a list of eighteen characteristics the real Shakespeare
must have had. Through his research, he decided to search for Elizabethian poets and writers, and that
is where he discovered Edward De Vere or the 17th Earl of Oxford. When Looney read De Vere s

How Is Hedda Gabler Unsympathetic
In the late 1800s, George Bernard Shaw said to Elizabeth Robbins, You were sympathetically
unsympathetic, which was the exact solution in the central difficulty of playing Hedda. A character
this is sympathetically unsympathetic is not easy to play, as the two are opposites that must still
coincide. The character must be scorned, but at the same time viewers must feel some degree of
empathy for them. They must be a character where viewers understand their pain, yet still not agree
with how they deal with it. Hedda Gabler is certainly one such character, as she is cruel, manipulative,
and even deadly towards people; at the same time, she is also a woman confined by society and unable
to live her life to the fullest. Hedda Gabler is truly sympathetically unsympathetic. ... Show more

South East Asian Crisis
INTRODUCTION
The South East Asian financial crisis was a period of financial crisis that gripped much of Asia
beginning in July 1997, and raised fears of a worldwide economic meltdown due to financial
contagion. The crisis started in Thailand with the financial collapse of the Thai Baht caused by the
decision of the Thai government to float the Baht, cutting its peg to the USD, after exhaustive efforts
to support it in the face of a severe financial overextension that was in part real estate driven. At the
time, Thailand had acquired a burden of foreign debt that made the country effectively bankrupt even

Western importers sought cheaper manufacturers and found them, indeed, in China whose currency
was depreciated relative to the dollar.
Lessons for the developing countries from the Asian crisis: 1. Need for great caution about Financial
liberalization and Globalization
One of the most important lessons from the Asian crisis is that it is prudent and necessary for
developing countries to have measures that reduce its exposure to the risks of globalization and thus
place limits on its degree of financial liberalizations. In a globalized world, developing countries often
face tremendous pressures coming from developed countries, international agencies, transnational and
national companies to completely open up their economies. It is proven that liberalization can and has
played a positive role development, however; the Asian crisis has shown up that in some
circumstances, liberalization can play havoc, especially on small and dependent economies. This is
more so prominent in the field of financial liberalization, where lifting of controls over capital flows
can lead to such extreme results as a country accumulating a mountain of foreign debts within a few
years, the sudden sharp depreciation of its currency, and a sudden rush of foreign owned and local
owned funds out of the country in a few months. So,
* Developing countries should exercise caution while

20th Century American Politics
Over the course of the 20th century, the people located in what is now modern day Slovakia
experienced immense political transformation. Before the end of World War I, the Slovakian people
were part of the Austro Hungarian Empire. When the empire dissolved, two republics were formed
creating Czechoslovakia until it too was dismantled by political demonstrations in the 1970s and
1980s. However, this volatile nature settled down when Slovakia became its own independent state in
1993. Though the state is relatively young, it is still an imperative component of the European Union
today and this democracy is seen as functioning tremendously well nowadays. Slovakia s main
political policy tends to focus around cultural issues, which has negatively impacted the nation state

Politics is usually characterized by contests for and shifts of power signifying the desire of the people
to place their sovereignty in the hands of responsible leaders. Such leaders devise political manifestos
and promises of institutions to implement the ideal governance that is the people s craving. This
underlies the diversity of political parties, opinions, institutions and other avenues that together define
the longitudinal political climate of a state. Moreover, the differences constitute the myriad of systems
that allow for comparison between countries based on the similarity or distinction of design systems.
This comparison of Intra and inter country systems is the concept of comparative politics. The intra
country comparison uses political calculation elements such as the effective number of political parties
in the nation. In this light, this research presents the comparative politics of

The Principle Of Separation Of Power
Our Founding Fathers were no strangers to the long standing care of a government. Throughout
history it has been proven over and over that when any one person is allowed to obtain and stockpile
power that he/she becomes the greatest threat to liberty. It is no wonder that the most famous and
treasured part of the Constitution, the separation of powers, was molded over hundreds of years.
The idea of separation of power is not necessarily a new concept. As far back as 350 B.C. the Greek
philosopher Aristotle made the observation in Politics that any government whether it be monarchal,
democratic, and etc. has three basic branches: the deliberative, the magisterial, and the judicative.
Today all three can be directly compared to: legislative, executive, and judicial within our modern day
governments. However, while Aristotle asserted that all three were basic components to any and all
governments, he did not specify that they should be wielded by separate entities of said governments.
It would not be until centuries after Aristotle s death that his idea of the different functions of
government would be separated into different branches. It was the French philosopher Baron de
Montesquieu put forth the idea that these powers should be separated, and no one person/branch
should hold multiple powers. Of course while John Locke had made the case for splitting the
legislative and executive powers, it was Montesquieu that gave our Founding Fathers the proof and/or
backing for a

5th Period Abstract An abstract paragraph is a summary of the impact of your research on your topic.
It is not an introductory paragraph. It should be three to four sentences in length.
The Main Events and struggles of The War with Mexico in 1846 1848
Your introductory paragraph starts here. It is an explanation of what or who your subject is. We will
also talk about what events led to the war. We will talk about the after effects and the main events that
occurred during the war. It will include important dates, documents, people, and battles throughout the
paper.
The war with Mexico was the first American war fought on foreign soil. In order to fight against
Mexico we had to build a strong Army as well as a strong Navy. The war was fought between a really
unprepared military Mexico and James K. Polk (United States President). James believed the United
States had a Manifest Destiny (A belief that the expansion of the United States from one ocean to the
ocean on the other side of the United States was justified and inevitable). A border skirmish on the Rio
Grande started off the war and a lot of American victories followed behind it. When it was all over
Mexico had lost about a third of its territory, including New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, and
California.
The Manifest Destiny was believed not only by Polk but also by many American citizens. It was

Preparing An Expert When Making Our Next Investment Choice
Purpose: Introduction/background of problem
The purpose of this report is to help determine if it is better to consult an expert when
making our next investment choice. There are still three primary options we have to choose
from in order to make our decisions. The option we have are to invest in real estate, retail
franchise just for hats, or high yield municipal bonds. The decision was made to look at two
possible outcomes for each equation instead of three. The hope was that we will be able to help
simply the process by doing this action. The interests are whether the market will be Favorable
or Unfavorable, so we have collapsed the Medium and Low outcomes. With each of these
options there are different levels of risk that have to be considered in our decision making
process. Forecasts serve as decision support tools that allow leaders to plan for the future by
performing what if analyses to determine how changes in inputs affects outcomes (Nordmeyer,
2015). In this scenario we are trying to determine if it is cost effective to consult an expert for hi
forecasting service due to the fee he charges for his services. We are going to conduct further
analysis to determine the value of the information the expert will provide.
Excel Analysis
A decision tree will be utilized to help us determine if there is any value in consulting an expert
on our next business investment. Decision trees are sequential models, which logically combine

Entering the Park Tavern, a bar and grill in Midtown Atlanta, Georgia proved to be quite different that
the bar and grill locations. Most bar and grill restaurants like Dugans and J.R.Crickets, have music so

venue. One could appreciate the live band performances versus the DJ spinning the same records for

old school hip hop music. The words from the songs brought back the memories of when Hip Hop

Decentralization of Collective Bargaining in Australia
In Australia, industrial relations system has been shaped by diverse legislative Acts and political forces
coupled with judicial decisions at both the state and federal level. This evident in the sense that there
have been diverse amendments of the 1904 Act in light of increased pressures in the industrial sector.
This elicited mixed reactions from the employees and employers, among other stakeholders in the
industry. However, due to the disadvantages and/or drawbacks of the centralized system of collective
bargaining in comparison to the advantages or positive aspects of the decentralized approach of
collective bargaining, employers have favored departure from the centralized wage fixing. Against this
backdrop, it behooves us to explore ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is an extensive array or reasons as to why employers have favored moving away from a
centralized system of bargaining. One of the reasons encapsulates the fact that there was a high level
of inflexibility in the centralized system (Lansbury, 2000). The centralized system was exceedingly
inflexible the mandatory enforcement of arbitral awards meted out by the State tribunals and
Australian Industrial Relations Commission (AIRC) adduce inadmissible evidence to this aspect
(Lansbury, 2000). As such, a strategic approach to an exceedingly decentralized system of bargaining
in the enterprise level dimension was espoused. This approach engaged an effective multi stage
dimension as seen in the move from centralized wage determination to managed decentralism between
1983 93; coordinated flexibility between 1993 1996, and fragmented flexibility since 1996 (Lansbury,
2000, p.32). As such, the last two decades have marked a radical shift to a decentralized approach of
collective bargaining.
The efforts by stakeholders to individualize employment relations have achieved a considerable level
of success. This has benefited employers since negation of grievances will occur at the enterprise or
industry level. Accordingly, this reduces the cost of possible increased expenditure on when the trade
unions are involved. For instance, the coalition government leveraged massive efforts towards
diminishing the role of

Defense Mechanisms And The First Defense Mechanism
Defense Mechanisms Defense mechanisms are known as ways we protect ourselves from the feelings
or things that we do not want to deal with. Defense mechanisms tend to be a way to cope with
situations, from which an individual feels anxiety or stressed. Everyone uses defenses mechanisms to
help them get through frustrating experiences. There are several types of defense mechanisms; the
main ones that I can remember using are regression, denial, projection, repression, rationalization, and
displacement. The first defense mechanism I like to uses is regression. Regression is defined as
leading to the temporary or long term reversion of the ego to an earlier stage of development rather
than handling unacceptable impulses in a more adult way. I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Regression helps people by, when someone confronted by stressful events, they sometimes abandon
coping strategies and revert to patterns of behavior used earlier in development. The second defense
mechanism, I ve used is denial. Denial is simply refusing to acknowledge that an event has occurred, a
person acts as if nothing has happened, behaving in ways those others may see as bizarre. In my life, I
have only known one person that has past that I have cared about. When she past a couple years ago, I
just did not want to believe it. I stayed up almost every night that week, trying to think that it was not
real and it was only a dream. Still to this day, I try to tell myself it is not real, but reality hits me and
she will always be gone. Personally I can only remember using denial as a defense mechanism once in
my life, but I also had a neighbor his name was Cody he was 17 years old and he started using drugs,
the changes in his behavior made it pretty obvious to anyone who know him, but Cody s parents just
didn t believe. I believe that Cody s parents where in denial; because that was there baby, and they just
did not want to believe that there kid would get into that kind of stuff. The third defense mechanism I
have used is projection. Projection is where a person defends themselves against unpleasant impulses
by denying their existence in themselves, while attributing them to others. I have been known of doing

Bonner case
Question 1:Was the approach that Bonnier used to establish a centralized R D Department and to
change its innovation approach a sound business decision? Why or why not? What made this decision
risky? It was a good decision. In a new digital world, Bonnier needed to introduce a new culture of
innovation and the centralized R D team was a perfect driver for that. Moreover, the new R D team
report directly to Jonas Bonnier (CEO). This last point was a risk because that disrupts Bonnier
decentralized organization tradition. Question 2: What specific approaches did Bonnier and Ohrvall

Mag+ revenue model was based not only on a basic package but provided also additional services
(technical/creative consulting, training, etc.) on a Mag+ care bundle. Question 7:Should some content

the service design process is to understand the behavior of the customers, their needs and motivations,
you need to record their behaviors with or without any revenue streams.A free offer doesn t mean
without any interactions with your consumers. Question 8: What should Bonnier focus on in its NEXT
innovation project and why? The next focus is to find totally new types of digital business that create
more revenue streams in order to compensate for the declining sales in traditional printed media. That

Alcohol And Drug Misuse In Penn State Mont Alto Students
Alcohol and Drug Misuse in Penn State Mont Alto Students Alcohol and drug misuse are significant
social problems among college campuses nationwide. The purpose of this research paper is to
determine how many Penn State Mont Alto students engage in alcohol and drug misuse. Fifty surveys

Summary Of Quotes From Cant You Stop Cleaning
Quote 1:
Before the flooding, Rodney was always on my case. Why don t I clean more? I mean, his view was,
once I quit working, the house should be immaculate. And for me, I never wanted to be a housewife
ever. So, Okay, Ill do a little cleaning. Ill do a little housewife stuff, and I ll do stuff with cooking. So
before the flood, he was like Cant we get this place a little cleaner? And ever since the flood, IM
downstairs cleaning, cleaning, cleaning, and he s been on my case: Cant you stop Cleaning. When I
was reading this quote at first I would agree with Rodney I do not like a dirty house myself, but I do

Some of the families had a lot of tension and got mad at each other because they felt that the other did
not do enough to prepare for the flood. Most of the husbands and wives fought over nothing
substantial, just a lot fussing to fuss and some of the time this led to divorce. Divorce and separations
are common among people facing financial and emotional strain. Most of the women were very
emotional after the flood because they felt as if they had lost all of what they had worked so hard to
get so they turned their anger to their husbands. For example Diana, she took a lot of her frustration
out on her husband because she thought that he did not do much to help them out to prevent their
home from some of the damage before the flood. There were a lot of emotions fighting after the flood
while the men felt that they had to be the strong ones, but they still had the sadness in their hearts
because they blamed themselves because they looked at themselves as the protectors of their families.
Some of the couples turned to divorce because they felt it was the right time, they had nothing to fight
about because everything they had together was taken away by the flood while some of the couples
stayed together and fought it out. Many couples wanted to attempt to remain together because of their
children. But all after the flood

The Literary Style Of Cavendish s The Blazing World
In the epilogue of The Blazing World, Cavendish puts forth that anyone who does not wish to be a
subject of her world can instead create their own (Cavendish 163), but how does one do this? In the
story, the Empress asserts that in order to create a world one must frame it, strengthen it, and beautify
it (126). The literary world that she creates in The Blazing World itself follows this system as her use
of structured lists, her descriptions of the strength of her society and her use of poetic techniques in
prose each support these ideas. This principal of world creation can be seen not only throughout The
Blazing World, but through her poetry as well. In her poem Of Many Worlds in This World, Cavendish
is able to convey these three rules of world building through both form and content while creating a
whole system of worlds for the reader to imagine. The passage of The Blazing World that this essay
will focus on is a passage in which the Duchess convinces the Empress to make a world in her mind
which the Empress decides not to dissolve. The passage ends with the Empress desiring to see the
Duchess s world and it s government and society. This passage not only creates a world within the
text, a world filled with creatures, laws, arts and sciences (126), but adds to the greater world of the
story that Cavendish creates. In this passage one can see a bit of how Cavendish creates her world
through both the content of the passage and form. This passage exhibits the framing

Pros And Cons To Year-Round Education
Many school districts are faced with the problem of a growing student population coupled with a
shortage of school facilities and limited funds for new facilities. In response, some districts are
adopting or looking into year round education (YRE). In addition to maximizing the use of existing
schools for larger numbers of students, some education experts claim that year round school improves
student learning. With YRE, students attend school for the same number of days each year (180 days,
according to the U.S. Department of Education), but school breaks are arranged differently. A popular
YRE calendar uses a 60 20 plan, with students attending school for 60 days and then going on break
for 20. Other popular plans include 45 15 and 80 40. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cons to Year Round Education: Multitrack year round calendars eliminate the idea of a single class
using a single classroom. More storage space is usually required for students and teachers. Multitrack
year round calendars place additional demands on school support staff and on cafeteria, custodial and
maintenance services. Special accommodations must be made for annual school events like graduation
and parent conferences. Teachers who traditionally continue their own education during the summer
break need to find alternative forms of education and training. Working parents may find it harder to
find childcare for shorter breaks during the year than for the long summer break, when summer camp
and other full time activities are available. Families with children in different schools or districts may
be faced with conflicting school break schedules. Year Round School Pros and Cons By: Catie Watson

Imperature And The Rate Of Interaction In A Chemical Reaction

Title : The relationship between the temperature and the rate of reaction in a chemical reaction.
Introduction : Last academic year, towards the end, in IB chemistry hl class, my class had the chance
to learn about the concentration, temperature, catalysts, etc and their effects on the rate of reaction in a
chemical reaction. I knew that the rate of reaction had a relationship with the factors but I wanted to
know how it changes witness it for myself. I wanted to perform an experiment for myself to see what
it actually is like. This IA is potentially an opportunity for me to test my understanding on the topic
and
Research Question :
How does one determine the activation energy through the relationship between the temperature and
the rate of a said reaction?
Background Information : Rate of reaction in its most basic definition is the speed at which the
reaction takes place. The rate of reaction can be calculated by using
Rate of Reaction = Molestime of reaction
Collision Theory : In order for atoms/molecules/ions to react, they must collide with each other, the
rate of reaction is directly proportional to the collision frequency. The greater the number of collisions,
the faster the reaction will take place.
Activation Energy : For these collisions to take place and the reactions to happen, a minimum amount
of kinetic energy must be possessed by the particles that are going to collide with each other. This
minimum amount of energy required to initiate a

  • 2. The Pros And Cons Of Plea Bargai Plea bargaining is what individuals would rather do to solve their cases and receive their sentencing rather than bringing their cases to a trial. Countless individuals would rather take a plea deal then go through with a trial because trials can last a long time and can come to a longer verdict than with a plea deal. A plea deal is an agreement that the defendant and the prosecution must agree on in hopes to benefit from the decision (Plea Bargains or Agreements and Sentencing, 2015). Two of the most common plea deals are either guilty pleas or no contest pleas where the defendant does not admit or deny that they committed the crime. In the case of Larry Servedio, he should accept the plea deal because he is only being sentenced for two consecutive counts of second degree kidnapping. Servedio will serve fifteen years in state prison seven and a half years for each count which is less time than he would serve in state prison if he was charged for all his crimes. The process of a plea ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In addition, plea deals allow the prosecutors to free up their time to focus on other cases and ensures a conviction for the prosecutor. If represented by a private attorney, the defendant saves money by not having to retain a lawyer as representation any longer. The downside of a plea bargain could leave an innocent defendant found guilty and charged for a harsher sentence than what a judge would charge. In addition, plea bargaining could lead to rushed police investigation where they do not take their time to look over every piece of evidence (The Pros and Cons of Plea Bargaining, 2015). Some judges may even believe that plea bargaining is unconstitutional because they are settling for a crime that they committed and not allowing a judge to do ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Dr. Jekyll Vs. Hyde The purpose of the mask is to portray the combined inner psyche of Jekyll and Hyde. There are two distinct halves of the mask: the left side is Jekyll and the right side is Hyde. The far left side of the mask is white, which transitions into a light grey further to the right. The far right side is a dark, blood red. Going towards the middle from the right side, the red becomes lighter. The middle is where these two colors, grey and red, blend together. The red is slightly to the right of the middle, pushing over into the left side. The left side, however, has a small amount of tiny lines of red paint, scattered about. Each of these elements represents the minds of Jekyll/Hyde and how their minds interact with each other. The white on the very ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Titled Suppressed Emotions Can Lead to Aggression, by Rick Nauert PhD, the article talks about how scientists from the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Minnesota found, through their study, that people who must keep their emotions bottled up [...] are more likely to act aggressively (4). The study was conducted by having the subjects watch two notoriously disgusting classic movie scenes: one from the 1983 film The Meaning of Life and another from the 1996 film Trainspotting (Nauert 3). Half of the subjects were allowed to show emotion while the other half were asked to show no visible reaction to the scenes being played. To determine how aggressive they were after watching them, they played a video game in which they could blast an online opponent with noise. (In reality, there was no opponent and no one was blasted, though subjects thought they were doing so.) (Nauert 12). Those who had been told to show no visible reaction set the noise level higher than those that were able to show emotion ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Courtroom 302 A very significant case in Cook County Courts was the Bridgeport case, known as a heater case because of the publicity that surround it, and the racial overtones (Bogira 181). The Bridgeport case involved three white teenagers, Michael Kwidzinski, Jasas, and Caruso that were accused of brutally beating two young black boys who were riding their bikes in the predominantly white neighborhood. The entire summary of the case, in Courtroom 302, was based around the fact that one of the boys, Michael Kwidzinski, was most likely innocent. The question then turns to the boy himself, Michael Kwidzinski; if he was innocent, why did hid then accept a guilty plea bargain? Kwidzinski was dealing with the case for a year and a half before even getting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Jenson, Caruso s lawyer, wanted to call two girls from the party to testify against Guadagno. Judge Locallo said the state would then be allowed to call Deena, Caruso s ex girlfriend, to testify. Deena s statement would then not only implicate Guadagno in the case but it would also place Caruso, Jenson s client, at the scene of the crime (Bogira 329). If Guadagno would have been forced to testify he would have been viewed as the third criminal and could have cleared Kwidzinski of any charges. A significant reason the courts continued with prosecuting Kwidzinski was that reversing the charges would make people question the legitimacy of the case all together. The state s attorney s office had already charged three alleged attackers. If there was any doubt of Kwidzinski being involved in the case there would be a problem with the lawyers of the other two attackers by trying to jump on the bandwagon to freedom. Even though Kwidzinski may have been justifiably innocent and wrongly accused, the attorneys for Jasas and Caruso would have claimed their clients were wrongly accused as well. Another major reason for keeping the prosecution for Kwidzinski going is when prosecuting attorney O Reilly presented to the grand jury a request for an indictment on Caruso, Jasas amp; Kwidzinski, he presented one ... Mary Rowlandson: A Narrative of the Captivity and Restoration of Mrs. Mary Rowlandson And Benjamin Franklin: The Autobiography Every literature story has an importance of a great leader or a survivor. There are apparent themes in this captivity narrative such as the doubt of life. The story of Mary Rowlandson and Benjamin Franklin wrote a narrative of their life experience and their adventure. They learn from the attack that no one is guaranteed life, and life can be short. There are clear contrast and comparison between these two individuals connected to their observation of God. In the colonial American time, religion was a vital part of life. Mary Rowlandson and her kids were captured by the Indian in the year 1676. In her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Franklin, stated, I had been religiously educated , I seldom attended any public Worship (562). Franklin formed his own fate in relation with his belief. The ideas he mission were righteousness, justice and belief that happiness may be found in worldly values. I believe both individual were establishing an identity free from the native land, although Rowlandson was taking away. In Franklin s Autobiography, he was seeking to establish a new identity for the new world. This parallels Rowlandson in that she at the end of her captivity has evolved into a new person. Although Rowlandson has placed her fate more in God s hand. Franklin suggested that man controls his own destiny but also makes reference throughout to God. I believe he must deal with his excessive pride, even as Rowlandson has dealt with her own vanity. Despite the cultural differences I learned a lot about Rowlandson and Franklin s time. The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin was not an easy book to read. Benjamin Franklin was a remarkable man. He was a printer, author, politician and an inventor (PECO). Because of Franklins, this essay is being written about one of the men responsible for America s success today. The captivity narratives of Rowlandson served to define goodness and women s proper devotion to their religion, and to give a religious message about the value of faith in times of harsh conditions. • 6. Haitian revolution Essay In 1791 revolution broke out in the French colony of Saint Domingue, later called Haiti. The Haitian Revolution resounded in communities surrounding the Atlantic Ocean. One of the wealthiest European outposts in the New World, the Caribbean island s western third had some of the largest and most brutal slave plantations. Slave laborers cultivated sugar, coffee, indigo, and cotton, and they endured horrible death rates, requiring constant infusions of slaves from Africa. In 1789 roughly 465,000 black slaves lived in the French colony on the island, along with fewer than 31,000 whites. In addition, there were about 23,000 free blacks and mixed race people called gens de couleur, who might own land and accrue wealth but had no political ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The war became more complicated in 1793 when the British invaded Saint Domingue. The Spanish, who had a colony on the eastern two thirds of Hispaniola, also entered the fray by supporting armies of escaped slaves, including a force under the command of an ex slave named Toussaint Louverture. Pressed on all sides, commissioners from republican France, led by Leger Felicte Sonthonax in the northern part of the colony, began to extend freedom and citizenship to every slave in summer and autumn 1793. Inspired by this application of the rights of man, the French National Convention abolished slavery in all French possessions on February 4, 1794. This action transformed the conflict. Louverture abandoned the Spanish and began to fight for the French and the freedom of his people. Over the next couple of years, Louverture consolidated power on the island and created rigid rules that compelled ex slaves to work on plantations so as to make the island productive again. In 1795, because of events in Europe, the Spanish signed a peace treaty that ceded their colony on the island to the French. In 1798 Louverture negotiated a treaty with the British, convincing them to leave the island and promising not to support any slave rebellions in British colonies. He also sought to develop commercial relations with the United States, even as the Quasi War (1798 1800) broke out with France, by sending Joseph Bunel to Philadelphia. • 7. What Are Horace Mann s Principles Of Education Horace Mann, who is also known as the Father of American Public Education, is best known for his determination in reforming the public schooling system of the United States of America in the early 1800s. Horace Mann was born on May 4, 1796 in Franklin, Massachusetts to his parents, Thomas Mann and Rebecca Stanley Mann. Growing up in poverty, Horace Mann learned to be self reliant from an early age. Although Horace, himself, did not have a proper education from the ages of 10 to 20, he self studied at his local library. At the age of 20, Mann enrolled himself into Brown University and graduated as the top of his class in 1819. During 1822 23, he studied law at Litchfield Law School. In 1827, Mann was elected to the Massachusetts legislature and served until 1833. In 1835, Mann was elected to the Massachusetts State Senate and was its president from 1836 to 1837. His first statement was that the public should not remain ignorant for long. The second statement was that the public should take interest in paying for and maintaining education. The third statement was that the best education can be provided in schools that welcome children from different social classes, religions, and ethnic backgrounds. The fourth statement was that education should be free from sectarian influence. The fifth statement was that tenets of a free society should prevail while separating from education. Finally, the last statement is that education should be provided by well trained, professional teachers. Many of social and political groups did not agree with Mann s beliefs. Priests were angered by Mann s belief that religion should not be part of the classroom, and politicians hesitated at the overreach of authority in the local school ... She is a model of a female counter stereotype; in different words, she is not submise, passive and weak. In fact, Paikea is an intelligent, confident, strong, curious and bold young girl who stranded up to the advantages against her of prospering in a male dominated society. In different ways, Paikea presents characteristics that look like the male stereotype. Paikea knew from the instant of her birth that she was not liked. Paikea had a soliloquy at the starting of the movie, where she manifests that there was no gladness when I was born. My twin brother died and took my mother with him. Everyone was waiting for the first born boy to lead us, but he died and I didn t (Whale Rider, 2002). Her grandfather often reproves her for being a girl because only boys can carry on the ritual of being the descendant of the divine Whale Rider of the Sea. Her grandfather looked her with disdain and viewed her as a load because she could not realize this role, even although she was always trying to satisfy him of her odds. For example, when her grandfather s boat s string was broken, Paikea took the lead to tie the string back and rev up the motor. Without accept her cunning, he discards her ability and tells her, don t do that again, it s dangerous (Whale Rider, 2002). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Leslie Silko s A Man To Send Rain Clouds In our time traditions have always been fought for. This value of conflict has caused people to hurt each other, tear down fortified infrastructures, use weapons of science, and tear nations apart. Historically, traditions are sensitive practices that cannot be served by any means. Which even means today in our era that these extremes are still indefinitely possible. However, our era we live in has grown into a larger being that holds even greater value over its own life. Written by Leslie Silko A Man to Send Rain Clouds is a fascinating story of how the New Mexican cultures create a harmonious place for their traditional differences. Additionally the author Silko comes from a Native American Background, she grew up in between cultures in her own story and knew very well the gaps separating them. In A Man to Send Rain Clouds, Silko sketches for the reader pages of two specific cultures that foretell a battle of socially tensive obstructions between them. The Spectrophotometer Determination Of Protein Concentrations And The Effects Sodium Dodecyl Sulphate And Triton X 100 Have On Protein Concentration. INTRODUCTION Spectroscopy is used as a collective term for all the analytical techniques based on the interaction of light and matter. Spectrophotometry is one of the branches of spectroscopy where we measure the absorption of light by molecules that are in a gas or vapour state or dissolved molecules/ions (Tombs, et.al, 1959). Spectroscopy is the use of electromagnetic radiation by a sample in order to identify components of the sample (qualitative analysis) or to measure the amount of material in that sample (quantitative analysis) (Tombs, et.al, 1959). And 41,211 women and 465 men in the United States died from breast cancer (U.S. Cancer Statistics Working Group, 2017). That volume of death could have drastically been decreased if the clinicians, physicians, and oncologists utilized the Mammaprint. We need to consider the significant role of TME, especially CAFs and immune cells, which profoundly participate in the metabolic interplay with neoplastic cells. CAFs and immune cells can collectively adapt to the metabolic needs of cancer cells and thus participate in tumorigenesis. Metabolic balance between all these players also promotes resistance to treatments, including not only the conventional chemotherapy or radiotherapy but also the most recent and advanced immunotherapies. Characterizing the mutual metabolic interplay between stromal, immune, and neoplastic cells will likely provide a better understanding of tumor progression and treatment resistance (Gentric, 2017). Biomarkers and Genetic Polymorphism Genome studies have identified about 80 or more genetic variants or single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) linked with breast cancer risk. Each variant only discreetly alters breast cancer risk; however, together they add large risk data to current risk analysts. Therefore, when added to traditional risk models, such as the Gail model, the Tyrer Cuzick model and/or the Breast Cancer Surveillance Consortium (BSCC) model, a combination of genetic risk factors can be used to increase risk arrangement. Risk arrangements with SNPs and other genetic alternates may also be useful to aid in other decisions for breast cancer prevention and screening. For ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Looney was a Gateshead schoolmaster and later became famous for his publication of Shakespeare Identified. He first started his research on Shakespeare because he was absolutely convinced that Shakespeare was a pseudonym, but he was not convinced that Sir Francis Bacon was the real author. After this realization, Looney went on to make a list of eighteen characteristics the real Shakespeare must have had. How Is Hedda Gabler Unsympathetic In the late 1800s, George Bernard Shaw said to Elizabeth Robbins, You were sympathetically unsympathetic, which was the exact solution in the central difficulty of playing Hedda. A character this is sympathetically unsympathetic is not easy to play, as the two are opposites that must still coincide. The character must be scorned, but at the same time viewers must feel some degree of empathy for them. They must be a character where viewers understand their pain, yet still not agree with how they deal with it. Hedda Gabler is certainly one such character, as she is cruel, manipulative, and even deadly towards people; at the same time, she is also a woman confined by society and unable to live her life to the fullest. South East Asian Crisis September 10, 2011 September 10, 2011 Report Report South East Asian Crisis South East Asian Crisis INTRODUCTION The South East Asian financial crisis was a period of financial crisis that gripped much of Asia beginning in July 1997, and raised fears of a worldwide economic meltdown due to financial contagion. The crisis started in Thailand with the financial collapse of the Thai Baht caused by the decision of the Thai government to float the Baht, cutting its peg to the USD, after exhaustive efforts to support it in the face of a severe financial overextension that was in part real estate driven. At the time, Thailand had acquired a burden of foreign debt that made the country effectively bankrupt even before the collapse ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Western importers sought cheaper manufacturers and found them, indeed, in China whose currency was depreciated relative to the dollar. Lessons for the developing countries from the Asian crisis: 1. Need for great caution about Financial liberalization and Globalization One of the most important lessons from the Asian crisis is that it is prudent and necessary for developing countries to have measures that reduce its exposure to the risks of globalization and thus place limits on its degree of financial liberalizations. In a globalized world, developing countries often face tremendous pressures coming from developed countries, international agencies, transnational and national companies to completely open up their economies. It is proven that liberalization can and has played a positive role development, however; the Asian crisis has shown up that in some circumstances, liberalization can play havoc, especially on small and dependent economies. This is more so prominent in the field of financial liberalization, where lifting of controls over capital flows can lead to such extreme results as a country accumulating a mountain of foreign debts within a few years, the sudden sharp depreciation of its currency, and a sudden rush of foreign owned and local owned funds out of the country in a few months. So, * Developing countries should exercise caution while ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 20. The Principle Of Separation Of Power Our Founding Fathers were no strangers to the long standing care of a government. Throughout history it has been proven over and over that when any one person is allowed to obtain and stockpile power that he/she becomes the greatest threat to liberty. It is no wonder that the most famous and treasured part of the Constitution, the separation of powers, was molded over hundreds of years. The idea of separation of power is not necessarily a new concept. As far back as 350 B.C. the Greek philosopher Aristotle made the observation in Politics that any government whether it be monarchal, democratic, and etc. has three basic branches: the deliberative, the magisterial, and the judicative. Today all three can be directly compared to: legislative, executive, and judicial within our modern day governments. However, while Aristotle asserted that all three were basic components to any and all governments, he did not specify that they should be wielded by separate entities of said governments. It would not be until centuries after Aristotle s death that his idea of the different functions of government would be separated into different branches. It was the French philosopher Baron de Montesquieu put forth the idea that these powers should be separated, and no one person/branch should hold multiple powers. Of course while John Locke had made the case for splitting the legislative and executive powers, it was Montesquieu that gave our Founding Fathers the proof and/or backing for a ... In order to fight against Mexico we had to build a strong Army as well as a strong Navy. The war was fought between a really unprepared military Mexico and James K. Polk (United States President). James believed the United States had a Manifest Destiny (A belief that the expansion of the United States from one ocean to the ocean on the other side of the United States was justified and inevitable). A border skirmish on the Rio Grande started off the war and a lot of American victories followed behind it. There is an extensive array or reasons as to why employers have favored moving away from a centralized system of bargaining. One of the reasons encapsulates the fact that there was a high level of inflexibility in the centralized system (Lansbury, 2000). The centralized system was exceedingly inflexible the mandatory enforcement of arbitral awards meted out by the State tribunals and Australian Industrial Relations Commission (AIRC) adduce inadmissible evidence to this aspect (Lansbury, 2000). As such, a strategic approach to an exceedingly decentralized system of bargaining in the enterprise level dimension was espoused. This approach engaged an effective multi stage dimension as seen in the move from centralized wage determination to managed decentralism between 1983 93; coordinated flexibility between 1993 1996, and fragmented flexibility since 1996 (Lansbury, 2000, p.32). As such, the last two decades have marked a radical shift to a decentralized approach of collective bargaining. The efforts by stakeholders to individualize employment relations have achieved a considerable level of success. This has benefited employers since negation of grievances will occur at the enterprise or industry level. Accordingly, this reduces the cost of possible increased expenditure on when the trade unions are involved. • 29. The Literary Style Of Cavendish s The Blazing World In the epilogue of The Blazing World, Cavendish puts forth that anyone who does not wish to be a subject of her world can instead create their own (Cavendish 163), but how does one do this? In the story, the Empress asserts that in order to create a world one must frame it, strengthen it, and beautify it (126). The literary world that she creates in The Blazing World itself follows this system as her use of structured lists, her descriptions of the strength of her society and her use of poetic techniques in prose each support these ideas. This principal of world creation can be seen not only throughout The Blazing World, but through her poetry as well. In her poem Of Many Worlds in This World, Cavendish is able to convey these three rules of world building through both form and content while creating a whole system of worlds for the reader to imagine. The passage of The Blazing World that this essay will focus on is a passage in which the Duchess convinces the Empress to make a world in her mind which the Empress decides not to dissolve. The passage ends with the Empress desiring to see the Duchess s world and it s government and society. This passage not only creates a world within the text, a world filled with creatures, laws, arts and sciences (126), but adds to the greater world of the story that Cavendish creates. Introduction : Last academic year, towards the end, in IB chemistry hl class, my class had the chance to learn about the concentration, temperature, catalysts, etc and their effects on the rate of reaction in a chemical reaction. I knew that the rate of reaction had a relationship with the factors but I wanted to know how it changes witness it for myself. I wanted to perform an experiment for myself to see what it actually is like. This IA is potentially an opportunity for me to test my understanding on the topic and Research Question : How does one determine the activation energy through the relationship between the temperature and the rate of a said reaction? Background Information : Rate of reaction in its most basic definition is the speed at which the reaction takes place. The rate of reaction can be calculated by using Rate of Reaction = Molestime of reaction Collision Theory : In order for atoms/molecules/ions to react, they must collide with each other, the rate of reaction is directly proportional to the collision frequency. The greater the number of collisions, the faster the reaction will take place. Activation Energy : For these collisions to take place and the reactions to happen, a minimum amount of kinetic energy must be possessed by the particles that are going to collide with each other. This minimum amount of energy required to initiate a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
