Argumentative Essay On Shopping
Argument Essay
Shopping is one of the most common social activities in our life. Lingering in one store and
another, the customers are looking for the products that meet their requirements and making
decisions to purchase while enjoying the leisure time with their families or friends. At the same
time, to achieve a better business performance, the retailers try to attract the customers to pay more
attention to the products and stay longer in their stores by using various kinds of technologies to
surveil the shoppers, such as using cameras to monitor their shopping behavior, tracking their
purchased items, and even analyzing these consumers background. However, the surveillance of
consumers by retail anthropologists is manipulative and unethical ... Show more content on

As Ray Burke talked about in his speech How stores track your shopping behavior / Ray Burke
/ TEDx Indianapolis , the retailers, such as the Marsh supermarkets, are analyzing the backgrounds
and the family structures of the consumers which are their personal information, which may get
them in a dangerous situation when these data are disclosed to the third parties such as someone
with nefarious purposes and the fraud companies. If these data of the information is running
without regulation and protection, it would be easy to be used by those who want to defraud the
customers. The methods used by the retail industry as an undercurrent manipulation are not only
gathering information through the check out scanner but also recording videos through cameras
as well as many other ways such as analyzing the search records of an individual who shop
online, which may provide some malicious people with the access to the personal information. As
the result, there are many people have received tons of spammers which include numerous false
advertisement due to the information leaks. On the other hand, as to those VCRs, such as the
videotape library of Paco Underhill, according to The Science of Shopping (Malcolm Gladwell),
things will turn out to be terrible if these videos resource are hacked by criminals, such as the

The War of the Worlds, by H.G. Wells
Although it was published seventeen years after my death, the novel War of the Worlds by H.G.
Wells is a work of fiction that I would take great pleasure in reading. It would not be because of
the futuristic tales of creatures from Mars that would make it so enjoyable, but instead the major
themes that present themselves in the novel. It would be quite easy to discover that many of my
ideas manifested themselves in Wells work. He drew many of his inspirations and ideas from our
mutual friend, and his mentor, Thomas Henry Huxley. War of the Worlds helped perpetuate my
work in a literary and fictional fashion, something that I greatly appreciate. I am Charles Darwinand

For instance, the Martians have heat ray guns, something that the humans have not fathomed yet.
The Martians use these guns to their fullest power, and destroy everything around them with a
simple zap. In my theory, it is always the more evolved species that comes out victorious. It would
appear, with their seemingly superior intelligence, that the Martians would be the obvious victors.
They seemed to have everything planned out for their journey to Earth, even the fact that gravity
would have a significant effect on them so they developed the tripod machines. In the novel itself,
the Martians are referred as the higher intellectual beings. In chapter eleven, the narrator began to
compare the things to human machines, to ask [himself] for the first time in [his] life how an
ironclad or a steam engine would seem to an intelligent lower animal, inferring that the humans are
the lower intelligent animals.
So, the Martians win because they have been around longer and they are much smarter, right?
Wrong! This is where Wells truly proves his ability as a writer and storyteller. The somewhat
obvious choice to win is thrown through a loop, thus losing the fight. The Martians end up dying
off because they have been exposed to micro organisms, something they have never encountered
before because they have never appeared on Mars or Martian sanitary science

The Colossus and Daddy by Sylvia Plath
Sylvia Plath is one of the greatest poets of all time the queen of confessional poetry. Her writing
is thick with figurative language that cannot be interpreted only one way. Sylvia Plath herself was
complicated, and she struggled with her own personal hardships up until the day she took her own
life. Plath s father passed when she was only eight, and she struggled with his absence not only
though the rest of her childhood but also into adult hood. Many critics believe her famous poems,
such as The Colossus and Daddy, were confessional poems Sylvia wrote about her father.
Although there are many ties within her poetry to her real father, her writing cannot only be
interpreted this way. Sylvia had many demons she likely tried to tackle or even understand through
her writing her pain channeling through the speaker. The Colossus, a poem widely believed to
stem from her own experiences with death and depression, is a beautiful poem rich with imagery
that exposes the pain of living forever in the shadows. The literal definition of colossus means large
statue. A colossus can be a statue that represents a deceased person. The Colossus of Rhodes, one of
the seven ancient wonders of the world, was so grand in size it was considered one of the tallest
statues during that time. The speaker of Sylvia s poem tries to put together a man, whether it be her
father or not, to understand him. She considers him a monument, a colossus, an ancient wonder of
the world that holds power

The Foxfire Book Summary
When people think Appalachia, they think of West Virginia, but the Appalachian Mountains
stretch far from West Virginia and the people living in their hills have a shared cultural heritage
that is evident no matter what state they are a part of. The above excerpt is taken from The
Foxfire Book, the first in a series of books compiling various articles originally published in
Foxfire. Foxfire began in 1996 as a class project for high school students at a Georgian private
school. The students were tasked with interviewing locals to compile pieces of Appalachian
culture and wisdom that these locals had to offer. Aunt Arie is one of those locals and is the first
character you meet when you open The Foxfire Book. She is a little old lady living... Show more

There she shares with them stories about her past and her present as well as they help with her
chore of removing the eyes from a hogs head. From the way she talked about her preparation and
canning of the souse meat as she called it, to her way of speaking in general, anyone who s grown
up in the more rural areas of West Virginiawould almost feel like their reading a transcript of their
own grandma s words. Her generosity is not to be missed either. Even though she only has the
food she can grow herself or from her neighbors own generosities, she still found some to share
with the students for a meal. She also talks about, near the end of the interview, how she would
always make corn pones (corn bread) for her father to take with him to when he went to the city
and for the neighbors when they would come to visit. Her kindness and generosity doesn t go
unreturned by her neighbors though. As her description of the hog s head shows. Her neighbors
obviously really like her, enough to give her a hogs head with a surplus of meat, one that most
people would save for themselves, much less give away for free and refusing any payment at that.
It can also be said that she is not too proud to accept help from others, a trait that is very often
thought to be possessed by those living in the more southern parts of the

Argument That The New Testament Is The Fulfillment Of The...
I agree that the New Testament is the fulfillment of the Old Testament. The author Jensen writes the
last words God ever wrote to man is recorded on the pages of the New Testament. In the Old
Testament, God gave a partial revelation of Himself, having spoken through prophets and angles,
but the full and final revelation came through JesusChrist in the New Testament (Jensen.15).The
prophet Isaiah spoke of the days to come, when the new law would go forth from Jerusalem (Isaiah
2:2 4), (Map G) in the New Testament. The Apostle Paul states that the law of Moses has been
given until the seed, which is Christ Jesus has come (Gal.3:19 27) (Jensen.67)
`As God s final revelation, the New Testament records the fulfillment of the Old Testament

A Man By The Name Of Species By Charles R. Darwin
Introduction
A man by the name of Charles R. Darwin published a book that was titled On the Origin of
Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle for
Life, (typically called The Origin of Species). Published in 1859, this book caused a great
dispute in the world of science. You see, in his book Darwin was just trying to answer an age old
question How Did We Get Here? without ever referring to a supernatural creator. This book
shocked the science community. Up until now, science was linked to god. The idea to some
people that science and God were not together was astonishing. But to others it was horrendous.
These people couldn t believe a scientist who didn t refer to God as a natural part ... Show more

He mainly concentrated on the finches. Many science historians give credit to the birds (Darwin s
Finches) in inspiring Darwin s theory. Let s look at the birds. Bird 1 has thick long beak. Bird 2
has a thick short beak. Bird 3 has a tiny stub like beak while bird 4 has a short narrow beak. Also
their food preferences varied between the species. The big beaked birds could crack a shell of an
egg, while the small beaked birds could only eat insects. What does this prove? They are a good
example of micro evolution. They show us that finches can vary in their morphology, and that
natural selection has a role in this. HOWEVER...This study does not give evidence for macro
evolution, and does not prove that natural selection and random mutation could produce the living
world as we know it from simple single celled ancestors.
Microevolution VS. Macroevolution
Darwin was able to derail an idea that each individual species on the earth was specially created
by God and could never fundamentally change. How? Darwin compared domestic the
domesticated versions of many animals with that of their wild counterparts. Example. Wild dogs
behaved different from domesticated dogs. Fact most domesticated dogs cannot reproduce with
wild ones. Thus domestic dogs were considered a whole different species however, domestic dogs
were only wild dogs that the breeder trained. Dog breeders would selectively mate these dogs that
had allowed reproducing. This manmade selection Darwin realized this

Emily Rose Religion
The benefits that religion and spirituality provide in recovery and psychotherapeutic support are
exponential (Bradshaw et. al). It is one of the reasons the correlation between religious mindset and
mental health continues to draw scholarly attention. Another confounding variable is that there is
little cultural separation between spiritual guidance and psychotherapy. Most Catholic Priest s
come equipped with undergraduate and seminary work, the minimum requirement to perform basic
counseling in most states. Gettis, a psychiatrist and scholar, postulates that both priest and
psychotherapists are mutual socially sanctioned healers drawn together by the belief that they
possess healing power (Gettis 188). Alternatively, religioncan also induce feelings of shame and
bare negative effects on one s mental health (Keks et.al). The Exorcism of Emily Rose utilized this
theme to confound audience s perceptions of religion. In life, most of whom we... Show more

Instead, her story unfolds through the various perceptions of individuals ranging from her family,
her love interest, to medical personnel. To demonstrate this, Derrickson uses lighting and the

where we wittiness memories fueled by emotionally charged, reaction. During scenes where
Emily is demonstrating her demonic possession the lighting is dark. A symbolic feature selected
to exhibit not only the torment Emily was going through, but the absence of actual truth. The
various shades of light and dark used in the film supports the idea of how non religious society
approaches the idea of possession and exorcism. To this cultural group, the idea of demonic or
spiritual possession is abnormal. As is the idea of exorcism as a curative

Analysis Paper 2
The Price One Must Pay
According to Samuel Johnson, Revenge is an act of passion; vengeance of justice. Injuries are
revenged; crimes are avenged. Medea is an ancient Greek tragedy written by Euripides. It was first
produced in 431 BC and it is based on the myth of Jason and Medea. The themes prevalent
throughout the play is revenge and loss of innocence. It symbolizes how the act of revenge can
cause you to betray your loved ones because of your pride and selfishness. Your actions whether it s
premeditated or not, carry consequences that must be recognized. Even though in the play Medea,

If their husband decides to divorce them they can be easily discarded without a home. But while
together they must endure the pains of childbirth, and they are kept from participating in any sort
of public life. Unlike men, who can engage in business, sport, and war. That why Medea believes
that Jason should suffer for the suffering he has inflicted upon her as a woman. Especially since
Jason banish her and her children from Corinth.
How can you claim that you love someone but banish them to become homeless and helpless?
Your own flesh and blood. That shows how children nor wife were important in ancient Greek
society. Children were born just so that the can take over the fathers place and take care of them
when they get old. Even though the parents don t raise the child, the nurse does.
The most controversial character is Medea, she chose to murder her own two children just to
cause pain to Jason. The children represent innocence and purity. Children are represented as
free of any sins or impurities because their minds do not have the capacity to fully comprehend
evil as adults do. The nurse is fearful for the boy s life, so she tries her best to keep them out of
cite from their mother. The nurse wishes Medea would leave the kids out of her and Jason
problem they are not the ones to blame. But the nurse also states that she was brought up willful
and powerful in a great house with no rules.

Our countries motives are not completely justified.
Motives
The plan to launch cyber warfare on the Iranians began after a negotiation took place between the
Europeans and The United States. This was due to Iran s plan to continue their production of
uranium. Iran resumes uranium enrichment at Natanz after negotiations with European and
American officials flounder. (Gates, 2012). Our nations armed forces, CIA, and NSA worked
together to create a classified cyber attack to be launched on Iran s nuclear enrichment program
(Gates, 2012). The United States fear of nuclear weapons from Iran was the only motive for the
cyber attack, and was continued once President Obama came into office.
This attack was specifically intended to slow down the productions of their Nuclear Power Facility.
Cripple Iran enough to buy the United States more peace . Unfornatetly STUXNET is more
powerful then intended and many areas outside of Natanz were hit. Subsequently following the
attack on Iran, it was stated that 1,000 IR 1 centrifuges
(Shekaraubi, 2014) that were needed to develop uranium at the Iranian Natanz facility was impaired
throughout the breach. This would include but is not restricted to 30,000 IP addresses in Iran,
several manufacturing sites in Hormuzgan and the control system of Kharg Island which handles
the vast majority of Iran s crude oil exports. (Shekaraubi, 2014).

Formative Literacy Assessment
Assessments and feedbacks are crucial to helping students learn effectively. Evaluating student s
abilities to comprehend text and science concepts is a major component because it helps the
teacher know how their student s literacy skills are developing (Rakes Smith, 1992). Therefore,
assigning formative literacy assessments are crucial in STEM classrooms because it helps
educators get an insight on how their students would perform on high stake exams. A student who
is having difficulty understanding science passages would need an adjustment in the lesson so that
he or she can focus more on practicing their literacy skills. In my classroom, my goal is to assign a
variety of formative literacy assessment that will help my students become

Pros And Disadvantages Of Automation
Automation is a beautiful endeavor. Much like the tools of the past, automation makes our lives as
people easier. Today s technologies allow for more work to be done in less time, for less money,
and with less human effort. Jobs that are in the inconvenient middle of being too repetitive to be
interesting, but too complex for conventional computers to handle can now be automated
seamlessly seamlessly in ways that are more efficient and safe than in ways humans can manage. A
potent example would be cooking. Cooking is an occupation that requires precise measurements of
both timeand material. If you cook something for too long of a time, it burns up or is
overcooked. If you cook something for too short of a time, it becomes undercooked. This may
be a problem for humans, but this is far from one for computers. The only input a computer
needs is the perfect example to do the task perfectly. The many benefits of switching to
automated operation makes it tempting for business owners to switch to it. However, a problem
arises when one too many business owners decide to automate everything. The root of this
problem stems from the nature of the free market. Money circulates around the country from
buyer to seller, or in our case, from employer to employee. The employer fulfills the want or need
of a client that they cater to. To better serve these clients, they hire employees to either do more of
the work, or research how to do the work better. In return, the employees are given

Advantages And Disadvantages Of System Development
WATERFALL vs. AGILE METHODOLOGY
When it comes to systems development today, the most important decision every development team
faces is which approach to use. Given the fact that information technology is continually growing, it
is extremely important to shorten the time spent on the development as much as possible. This,
however, is sometimes easier said than done. Because there are situations where the complexity of
the system requires a huge amount of time to develop, it is much wiser to slow down and do things
the right way rather than hurry and be forced to repeat the process again. Therefore, it is vital to
choose the best approach. Although there are several different methodologies that can be used
when it comes to systems development, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The important thing here to mention is that each method consists of activities specific only to them.
These activities are yet another difference between the waterfall and agile method. The waterfall
model emphasizes planning while the agile method stresses flexibility more. Waterfall model
groups its activities in phases, where each phase is different and has its purpose. These phases
include planning phase, analysis phase, design phase, implementation phase, and support phase.
[1] Because the development process goes from phase to phase, it is crucial to carefully plan
each one out. Once you move to the next phase, there is no going back. This model is very
simple and easy to understand and use. However, when the system is put to a test, if it does not
satisfy all the requirements, then the entire system must be redesigned, which is a very
inefficient and costly job to do. This is the biggest weakness of the waterfall approach and that is
why this model is best suited for systems with well defined requirements as well as those with a
lower chance to change in the near future. In contrast to the waterfall method, the agile method
uses the iterative approach to systems development. This way, all the phases that are previously
mentioned in the waterfall model are also present, but they are repeated in each iteration. For this
reason, detailed planning is unnecessary because, at the end of each iteration, the prototype is
tested and improvements are made. Also, it is much easier for clients to be closely involved with
the whole process of development. Being able to actually see the system s prototype not only helps
clients in forming their image of what they can expect in the end, but also helps developers
understand the clients vision of the system. Although the collaboration between developers and
clients is positive and most certainly welcome, implementing all ideas that are

1. What is a criminal profiler? A criminal profiler falls under the category of law enforcement.
They are a form of criminal investigator. Profilers may use behavioral analysis to aid them in
pinpointing a suspect. I am interested in pursuing this occupation because what motivates people
to act the way they do is intriguing. A profiler can learn a vast amount about a person by simply
observing their actions and reactions. The profession of a criminal profiler can be grouped into the
categories of requirements, responsibilities, and ramifications. There are strict requirements
involved with becoming a criminal profiler. 2, 5 A profiler must have a bachelor s degree in
criminal justice, psychology, social sciences, or behavioral sciences (Criminal Profiler). 5 Popular
schools for this occupation include Kaplan University, Ashford University, and the University of
South Dakota (Study). A benefit of studying this occupation is how the degree programs overlap
and bear resemblance. 4 Also, Durant High School provides a forensics class that would aid in

the 12 years old Ceremony, they are assigned to the job that they will do for the rest of their life.
When the day finally comes for all of the Elevens to become a Twelve and to be assigned their job,

The way it describes the way he felt when he first experienced color. It kind of in a way was like
a blind person seeing for the first time; speechless and in awe of everything that they are taking
in. I really liked the way that Jonas felt frustrated that others couldn t truly know the beauty of
color and that he wanted to tell them but he know that he couldn t tell anyone. Even though
Jonas saw all of this beauty, he also saw tragedy. In one of the memories that the Giver gives to
Jonas is the memory of war and battle and everything that goes on during war. Jonas saw people
dying and shooting at each other in hate and saw all of the explosions that caused fires and
everything was hectic. Jonas did not like that memory at all because he had never heard of or
experienced such a tragedy and hardship before because of the Community. The Community
kept every type of feeling there was away from everyone, the good and the bad. Although some
people may think that it is good to take away all of the bad memories, I don t think so because if
taking away all of the bad memories means taking away the good memories too then I ll take bad
memories along with the good ones because the good memories are things that no one should ever

following is a summary of the book. It is about a man named Logan, a Marine serving in Iraq,
who comes across a photograph in the desert. The photograph is of a woman at a fair with a
huge ferris wheel and three trees in the background and on the back it says, Keep safe! E .
Logan s best friend, Victor, a fellow Marine, says that he was meant to find that photograph and
that it brings him good luck, after Logan tries to find out who is belongs to with no luck and
after Logan survives many explosions while having the photo with him. So when Logan returns
home, he sets out to find the woman, at Victor s suggestion. All he has is a letter of her name
and the background of the photo to go off of. After doing some research he finally narrows it
down to a town in North Carolina. He heads out with his dog, a german shepard named Zeus, on

Essay on Escalating Professional Athlete Salaries
Escalating Professional Athlete Salaries
Works Cited Not Included
In recent years, with the growing popularity of sports, athletes salaries have escalated like that of
a superb stock equity. Athletes are taking full advantage of their position, causing the average man
to wonder how high will they go. Some feel that athletes are greedy people who have lost care for
the true meaning of their salary, the love of the game.
Others feel that if a person is able to earn that kind of money, why shouldn t they? Increases in
athlete salaries will bring up the question on whether athletes are worth the money by researching

The problem is they want to do that immediately. In a couple years, after Garnett develops into a
superstar, people will be saying ?Boy, I?m glad we signed him [Garnett].? Rosen thinks that it was
undoubtedly necessary to have rookie salary caps. If there weren?t those rookie caps, kids out of
college, even high school like KG [Kevin Garnett], would be signing these multi million dollar
contracts right after the draft. There is no doubt in my mind that that was a good thing to do.
He also feels that these high salaries are good because it shows that revenue is going up (Rosen).
Sports salaries have sky rocketed in the past ten to fifteen years. Professional athletes have moved
from six figure salaries to nine figure salaries in what seems like a snap of a finger. Michael Jordan,
for example, got paid about $35 million a year not counting endorsements. Let?s put that in
easier terms: $439,000 a game $12,500 a minute played, assuming he plays about 35 minutes per
game $209 a second played almost $40,000 a jumpshot, assuming he makes 11 jumpshots per
game That is a ton of money when one looks at it this way. If one includes the endorsements he
gets, which are from Nike, Gatorade, Hanes, Ballpark hot dogs, Jordan shoes and clothing,
Rayovac Batteries, and Michael Jordan cologne, he makes about one million dollars per game.
Now this is a little too much, even if it is, in fact, Michael Jordan, probably the best basketball

Introduction
The Kyoto Protocol of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change calls for the
industrialized countries listed in Annex I of the Convention to reduce their greenhouse gas
emissions to 1990 levels during the period of 2008 2012. The three flexible mechanisms of the
Kyoto Protocol allow Annex I countries to achieve part of their emission reduction commitments
abroad. The CDM allows an Annex I Party to implement a project that reduces greenhouse gas
emissions or, subject to constraints, removes greenhouse gases by carbon sequestration, or sinks, in
the territory of a non Annex I Party. The resulting certified emission reductions, known as CERs,
can then be used by the Annex I Party to help meet its emission reduction target. The host country
will benefit from the increased investment flows and from the transfer of clean technologies
instrumental to advance the sustainable development goals.
All countries wishing to participate in the CDM have to designate a National CDM Authority with
the task of evaluating and approving the projects. This authority is termed the
Designated National Authority (DNA). The main tasks to be carried out by the DNA for the
CDM are to provide written approval to the project participants that participation by the Host
country is voluntary and to

The poets have polarized views of war with Rupert Brooke writing his poem in a romanticized and
patriotic way referring to the possibility of death as a noble cause, for England the land that gave
him life.
This is at odds to how Wilfred Owen views the reality and horror of war. The poets choice of title

The rest of the stanza continues to describe the men and the things they saw and sounds they heard:
Drunk with fatigue, deaf even to the hoots
Of Gas shells dropping softly behind
The use of the word Drunk is trying to emphasise that the soldier s were acting oblivious to the
happenings around them as if they weren t conscious and even deaf to the sounds of bombs.
In the second stanza the poet portrays an ecstasy of fumbling meaning he creates a huge panic of
all the men trying to apply their gas masks in time and illustrates the image of one soldier who
didn t get his mask on in time.
Gas! Gas! Quick boys An ecstasy of fumbling,
Fitting the clumsy helmets
This is the only quote of one of the men saying something and adds to the image of the rush they

Character Analysis Of Babamukuru In Nervous Conditions
In the story, Nervous Conditions, Babamukuru is Tambu, the main character s, uncle. He is an
essential character because his reactions dictate how all the other character s act and behave. He is
the father of two of the characters and the husband to another character, but always asserts himself
in everyone s life, because of his duty to the immediate and extended family. He is the disciplinarian
and parental figure to many of the characters. He is tough and not loveable to his kids, he
especially makes known his disappointment in his daughter. He acts more as if he is running a
business than raising his families status and overcome severe poverty. Babamukuru is the
significant male character in the book because he is a successful... Show more content on

He is never wrong and presents himself as very self righteous.
In this book, bias towards women is obvious. It is one of the main themes and is not hard to find.
Babmukuru at first suggests that Nhamo, Tambu s brother, be educated instead of Tambu
because he is a boy and she is a girl but after years at this school Nhamo has changed in a bad way
and rejects his family and learns a native language until eventually, he dies in a hospital away
from his family. Only then does Babmukuru offer Tambu to take the place of Nhamo and attend
the missionary school by his house. He becomes a prime example of discrimination in women s
education. He yieldingly lets Tambu go to a new school to higher her education even after she
received a scholarship. Babmukuru s alpha male dominance over all the other characters are,
according to him, his duty, but it ends up being crippling for the women s spirits. Another
example of this gender issue is when Tambu is visiting her family at the mission and discover
that her aunt serves her uncle dinner and lets him finish eating before serving herself or her
children. The main character, Tambu, is trying to find herself and her own voice but has a male
figure around her that doesn t accept her growth because he thinks everything should be done to
his approval and she is contradicting it. Also, Tambu s father doesn t like that she is going to
school to get an education because once she gets married her wealth will go to

Compare And Contrast Dulce Et Decorum And Who s For The Game
The two World War I based poems Dulce et Decorum by Wilfred Owen, and Who s for the Game?
by Jessie Pope convey two different views on World War I. Dulce et Decorum by Wilfred Owen, is
being told from a soldier s perspective during a poison gas attack and the gruesome events he sees
around him. The soldier realizes that war is a lie and the phrase Dulce et decorum est Pro patria mori
is also a big lie, the poem s only purpose is to be aimed toward children or young men who
desperately want glory. Wilfred Owen is depicting war as a grimacing occurrence to take part in,
and is encouraging young men not to enlist. Who s for the Game by Jessie Pope, is lionizing war,
promoting young men to enlist or they might miss out on the fun of war.... Show more content on

you don t join the war then you re a coward. Wilfred Owen poem is in a way written as a response

Musical Critique
One way I became more involved in university life by going to Oklahoma!. Not the state, but rather
the musical put on by the university. My suitemate Anna auditioned to be a part of it, and when she
got the part, she invited us all to watch opening night on November 13th.
I had been to a few musicals near my hometown, but they were rather lackluster and not very well
produced. This left a sour taste in my mouth when it came to amateur theatre performances, so I
hesitated in buying tickets for Oklahoma!. When I talked to my teaching assistant, she persuaded
me to give it a try because I might have a very different experience. I am glad that I went, because
the performance was a very vibrant show that meshed the excitement of college students with the
pioneer lifestyle of the great plains.
The musical was very lively, portraying life in the territory of Oklahoma, and focuses on several
young couples attending the local formal. Laurey is invited by Curley to a dance, but she decides
to go with the farmhand Jud instead to make Curley jealous. Curley attempts to win her back
because he feels that Jud is dangerous and disgusting, and he is in love with Laurey.
Simultaneously, Ado Annie cannot make up her mind which man she will marry, Will or the
peddler Ali Hakim. Will... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I found Oklahoma! to be very entertaining and hilarious, but it also included some dark aspects,
such as date rape and suicide. The way the writers integrated these darker scenes kept the musical
from being too lighthearted, but still relevant and enjoyable to the audiences. Secondly, this
musical increased my appreciation for the arts. From my previous experiences in live theatres, I
was not expecting the actors to be so well rounded in singing, acting and dancing. Although I am
not inclined to act in front of an audience, I really enjoyed the show and plan to attend more
musicals on stage next

Research Paper On Animal Rights
Do you ever wonder how animals feel about not having animal rights. About 56 billion animals die

Animals deserve rights, although some people don t think that animals shouldn t. People think that

Fatigue Experiment Essay
1.The hypothesis: There was three different expected outcomes derived from two different aims
of this experiment. The first hypothesis being that increasing reward will restore attention to the
task at hand. From the second aim of the experiment they expected two separate distinct
outcomes; the first would suggest that fatigue has to do with limited energy sources so they
expect little to no improvement from increased motivation. The second outcome dealt with
flexible motivational systems and expected great improvements or even returning to baseline
motivation and attention levels. 2.The operational definition(s) of the dependent variable(s):
The researchers used eye tracking to get an accurate measure of the persons gaze while the
amount of time and fatigue increased. Subjective fatigue and engagement was measured at all

Effort which is seven vertical scales which go from 0 to 150 and assessed different aspects of
mental fatigue. The second way was subjects were asked How tired do you feel? How engaged
were you in the task? both of which subjects responded on a 0 to 100 vertical scale that went by

uses the houses to symbolize the reluctance to change in a modernizing world. A house is often a

In the Second World War, The city of London faced constant bombing raids from the Germans.
Being one the oldest cities in the United Kingdom, London was littered with old buildings which
were outdated for their time period. These buildings became a picture of what London looked
like in the past. The British had a barbaric past in the colonial ages which would contradict the
Geneva Convention of their time. With the city of London in rubble, the British people could
either, rebuild from their past or see it as an opportunity to change. With the city lying in ruins
stood an old house, a symbol of England s past. Because the kids were frustrated with the
situation they were in they wanted to take their anger out on something and eventually they
targeted Old Misery s house. The younger generation unknowingly used the house as an
opportunity to start fresh and anything from the British past needed to be destroyed. When the
kids discovered Old Misery s house they decided [They ll] destroy it . The house is personified
as a dying elder on its last breath: The lav stood like a tomb in a neglected graveyard. The house

the house contains countless items from Old Misery s past and on a larger scale, England s past.

Trade in the Iron Age Essay
Distinguishing between the many diverse archaeological periods is typically done in two ways.
The first way to differentiate between two periods is to notice if there is a clear boundary or
separation among the archaeological remains. The second way is by looking at the periods from a
historical standpoint, and noting any major historical event that led to a significant social and/or
political change. Though there are other ways to do this, these are the two most common and useful
methods. Both of these techniques make it possible to recognize the differences in archaeological
time periods.

The Iron Age was heavily influenced by the cultures of Egypt, which was seen through the pottery
and building styles found during that time. Egyptian culture and Canaanite culture played a large
role in the creation of pottery and architecture, as well as the formation of cities, during the Iron
Age and beyond.
The area now known as the Levant is a region consisting of Canaan, Transjordan, and Syria
Lebanon. International routes connecting Mesopotamia, Egypt, Asia Minor, and the Aegean ran
straight through this area. As a result of the ideal geographic location, the Levant served as a
crossroads for trade and exchange throughout a great deal of antiquity. This area was repeatedly
under the control of hostile dictators, and it played host to foreign merchants as well as giving
birth to native traders who journeyed to far flung destination and returned with exotic goods (Cline
360). Although international exchanges of everyday and exotic materials had been going on for
hundreds of years before the reign of King Solomon, the most well known period of trade and
exchange is the period during the time of his reign. These international exchanges continued for
more than a millennium after his reign as well (Cline 360).
Really significant international relations between the Levant and the outside world began in the
second millennium BCE. Some epigraphic and textual documentation exists that complements the
material goods and evidence from this period.

The Heian Period Was Denoted As The Era Of The Court...
The Heian period was denoted as the era of the court aristocracy, which manifested highly
reformed taste in art and literature and strongly developed customs and modes of behavior (Hane,

history, the most sophisticated and highly desired one being poetry. While traditional Chinese
poetry had great emphasis waka, a japanese style poem of thirty one syllables, also gained
popularity at the Heian court (Hane, Pg. 64). These poems allowed for an outsider to get an insight

As the sentence continues she describes the interaction with the child by using the words pet and
imitating . In the context of the sentence, these words come off as condescending and sarcastic,
but I believe that to be her point. To perform these tasks of petting the child and imitating his voice
shows that there were standards to be maintained in this society to keep everyone pleased.
However, the demeaning feeling behind these actions explains that people just played the proper
role. Yet, this sentence is still composed with the use of okashi. When read, it brings a smile to ones
face due to the ridiculousness of the situation and the bluntness of ShЕЌnagon s solution.
Having the ability to write exquisite poems and use them to describe everyday life was a big factor
within the Heian period. Having a man deceit the public with the false accusation of being capable
of reciting beautiful poetry was highly frowned upon. She described it as, A man recites his own
poems and tells one about the praise they have received most embarrassing (ShЕЌnagon, Pg. 275).
This denotes the idea that the public was immensely drowned in the expectation of being idolized
by the nation for their supposedly well written poetry. With the word choice of most embarrassing
she heightens the ideal of how this action was repulsive. She conveys with the aid of sarcasm to
indicate that becoming a compulsive liar in order to gain a positive reputation is an undesirable trait

Behavior Management Is The Number One Key For Learning...
Behavior Management in the Classroom If you were to ask me what my number one priority is in
my classroom, without a thought my answer would be behavior management. Much like Marzano
(2003) I believe that behavior management is the number one key for learning success. If a
classroom is chaotic and unpredictable many students will show various kinds of undesired
behaviors as a way to cope with the environment. It is also very difficult for students to focus and
retain information when there are constant disruptions in the classroom. It will negatively affect the
performance of the teacher, and the students. When students are taught structure and routine, and

It is also important to build strong relationships with students in order to create a trusting and
positive environment. Much like Walker (2009) I believe that strong management stems from high
expectation levels, as well as a caring and nurturing environment where students are being
encouraged and the process, rather than the outcome of learning is emphasized. Walker (2009)
defines this style of teaching as authoritative. A high level of support and nurturing, along with high
expectations, where the adult is able to reason with the child to gain compliance. As a special
education teacher, many of my students have low self monitor abilities and struggle to reason, and
need frequent reminders and enforcers. I feel that it is most effective to use a more authoritarian
approach in the beginning to build very clear expectations without room for error. Walker (2009)
defines authoritarian style of teaching a highly controlling style of teaching that values strict
obedience. Although an authoritarian approach is less nurturing and highly controlling, I feel that
it is effective to start with this level of control, and then progress into a more authoritative level
where the more nurturing warm supportive elements come in as students learn to adhere to
expectations with a high level of support. When moving into a

Comparison Of My Life And Angela s Ashes
Sir Isaac Newton once wrote If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.
And autobiographies and biographies indeed allows us to look further down the path through the
life experiences that great people have achieved. They tell us of the lives of real people, real
events and real experiences which have occurred in history. Stories that reflected incidents that
were salient in one s life, recounting their progress through the path towards possibly achieving
something significant in human history. This teaches us, with a realistic approach, of the

One of the most significant lines in Angela s Ashes is the introduction, written from the adult
perspective of McCourt: It was, of course, a miserable childhood... and worse yet is the miserable
Irish Catholic childhood... the poverty; the shiftless loquacious alcoholic father; the pious defeated
mother moaning by the fire; pompous priests; bullying schoolmasters... It is his bitter attitude
conveyed with the usage of words with negative connotations as well as alliteration of mother
moaning and pompous priests to emphasise the suffering he had experienced during his childhood
which greatly contrasts with the latter part of the autobiography which uses a good natured attitude
to balance the bleakness of his life. This shows his change of outlook towards his past despite the
pain he has felt. In both Angela s Ashes and The Story of My Life, their inner thoughts resonated
within the readers through their usage of emotive language to convey their experiences. Keller s
writing style consists of mainly emotional paragraphs where her inner thoughts greatly reveal how
she felt at the time and in turn touches the hearts of the audience further than any novel could. We
would sit together of an evening and listen to the inner melodies of the spirit... But in college there
is no time to commune with one s thoughts... When one enters the portals of learning, one leaves
the dearest pleasures... I am improvident enough to prefer present joy to hoarding riches against a
rainy day. Again, the use of words with positive and negative connotations are evident throughout
the text allowing us to grasp her feelings as she compares her free past life to the restriction of
education. The revelation of the inner thoughts of the author establishes a relationship where the

Without support from executive management, social networks may never gain a proper foothold
throughout the organization. Management must set the pace for line staff to follow and adopt.
Therefore, if it s not important to senior management, it most likely won t be important to the
workforce as a whole. According to the case and additional research, most companies are not
providing the incentive that staff requires to be motivated to use these tools. The article states
that only 22 percent of social software users believe the technology to be necessary to their jobs.
Hence training on these new tools and the role they play within an organization is a critical factor
that can lead to failure or success. It is therefore crucial that management in cooperates training and
effectively communicates the importance of these tools to the general workforce. Management
should not assume that because employees are used to participating on social networks like
Facebook that they will adopt to internal social networks as easily. If employees are used to
collaborating and doing business effectively in more traditional ways like sending emails, then they
will need an incentive to use social software. Organization Organization needs to understand the

Hero My Mom
The Super Hero I Call Mom
My mother occupies a special place in my heart that can never be replaced. She became pregnant
with me at the age of nineteen. Being a young, single mother, she had to overcome difficult
obstacles to get us to where we are today. Life was tough and there were many times where she
just wanted to give up, but she was determined to turn her life around for the better. She ingrained a
lifetime worth of advice into my head but it was her actions that taught me that the struggles I will
face now will make me stronger in the end.
As a senior in high school, my mother was the colonel of the drill team and was preparing for
college when life threw a major curve ball her way. Once she realized she was pregnant with me,
she had to change her lifestyle entirely. With no support, financially or emotionally from my
father, my mother had to do it all on her own. This greatly affected my mother because even to
this day she is still playing a role as both a mother and father figure, and has never complained or
failed to follow through with any of her responsibilities. Raising me was especially hard for my
mother because she lacked financial stability. There were times when she didn t even have enough
money for a bottle of formula. Her parents allowed her to stay at home with them but she was
required to pay rent in exchange for my grandmother babysitting me while she worked as

Giant Steppes Toward Freedom by Ancestors
It is difficult for many Americans today to imagine taking everything they own and moving to a
new country because of religious and political freedoms. With these freedoms taken so much for
granted, we rarely think of the steps taken by our ancestors to gain that liberty. When looking at
attempts in history to gain freedom, it is usual to look to the founding fathers of America and
their sacrifices. However, other groups of people have strived for the same thing, one such group
being the people of the divided German states shortly after the Seven Year s War. Through several
generations of Germans, these people moved across country, across continent, and eventually even
across the ocean to America in order to gain that much desired freedom. In about 1763, the
Germans were experiencing many problems. With the seven years war just behind them, much of
the land had been destroyed. Crops were trampled, and properties were decimated, making the
living conditions in Germany very difficult. On top of that, the war had left the political system in
a state of chaos. At that time, Germany was not together as a nation but was rather divided into
forty two different states. Unified Germany as we know it today did not come about until much
later, in about 1872. During this time minority religions struggled in the German states. Evangelical
Christians such as Baptists were not looked well upon, as well as Mennonites who were pacifists
and did not believe in serving in the military.

When Does The N Word Remind People About Slavery
Does the N word remind people about slavery? In English speaking lands, this term can be
misunderstood as an insult without people s consent, especially in today s society. The word nigger
is one of the most controversial factors in the Black and White communities. Nigger is an infamous
term in American culture. The meaning of niggeris extended to an ignorant person (Nigger, 2018).
Many people like to be polite, and they prefer to call it as the N word. Besides that, the
Entomologists online dictionary also shows readers that nigger originated from an English word
neger and later reformed to Negro, the Spanish term for blacks (Kenny, 2004). In the early 1780,

The N word is unique to the point that it is part of people s daily life and music never grows old
with the term in it. Accordingly, to the article, The N word might be part of pop culture, but it

the highest guest funniest guest on Marc Maron s with Maron radio live (Julious, 2015). The
president went onto explaining that racial prejudice simply could not be curable. Obama
explained that people would change the way to use the phrase nigga where it could be an
appropriation for surrounding environment even with children around. The music is a beautiful
melody with meaningful lyrics, and it is wrong just to insert improper terms: nigger, nigga, and
Negro are a disgrace. Besides that, music is the number one factor that the young generation can
easily catch onto the trend of using profanity because they tend to think it is cool. They also
think that they could fit in with the cool crowd. Nigga, a reappropriated eye dialect word, is so
widely used as to be innocuous for my generation (Julious, 2015). It is wrong in this case. Since

Great Smokey Fires
Day 1: I have arrived in Gatlinburg, Tennessee to help victims of the tragedies that have occurred
during the lethal fires spreading throughout the Great Smokey Mountains. The team and I have
brought water supplies to last until our last day, along with food and other snacks. So far, we have
not yet discovered what started these fires. Our team has decided to put non injured victims into a
hotel until finding them a new shelter. 14,000 residents were evacuated from Gatlinburg around
noon. The fires continue to grow and roar at the innocent mountains that several claim home. Winds
were up to 70 mph, forcing the fires to continue and spread throughout the forests.
Day 2: Our crew was up until midnight last night, exploring areas that the fires have left for dead.
We found some victims and gave them the supplies they needed before providing them shelter. No
deaths have yet been recorded from the fires. Several homes and important buildings have been
destroyed from the fires, such as, The Mystery Mansion. Staff from the Ripley s Aquarium of the
Smokies, have been evacuated, leaving thousands of animals behind. However, the owner has came
out to say that the animals are like family, yet can be replaced as they are less important than human
life. We are asking more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One claimed to watch a building to burn completely down right in front of their eyes. Guests
from the Dollywood resort were evacuated as flames approached the area, yet the property hasn
t suffered any damage. Winds are now racing at 80 mph and debris have taken over the fresh air.
Looking out into the distance, fire is everywhere we look. Roads are now closed and some people
were left behind who are now kept in our shelters. According to the weather, it looks like we re
getting the best news we ve received so far; rain. Unfortunately, more wind is coming along the rain

Implementation. The Solution That Is Chosen Is Telehealth
Implementation The solution that is chosen is telehealth; types of technology that will be used
will need to be considered. The forms of technology that will be used with the telehealth program
are video conferencing, digital scales, a remote monitoring devices like a biosensor, blood
pressure monitors, automated medication dispensers, and a smart phone (Nelson Stagger, 2014).
An important aspect to remember is how these forms of technology can be used to help increase
access to care. These types of technology can prevent un needed trips to the doctor or ED, as well
as increasing access to the provider. For telehealth to be as effective there is a lot that a healthcare
organization and provider would have to go through. There are special... Show more content on

This can be a lengthy and costly process; there are currently discussions about mutual recognition
for APNs like there are for RNs in compact states (Nelson Staggers, 2014). As with any other
changes at the organizational level there must be new information and regulations about what
patients are appropriate for telehealth program; this information will be sent out via the
organization education website or procedure manual. This policy and procedure will need to
have a signature to verify that all employees have addressed it. One policy that may need to be
updated or reviewed would be the HIPPA policy for the organization. Some of the hesitancy with
implementing telehealth into practice is privacy, so when implementing the telehealth program
staff will be re educated on HIPPA (The Compliance Ethics Blog, 2016). With the education
provided the organization will avoid any HIPPA violation fines. Conclusion Rural areas need
improved access to care. While all the solutions discussed, would be great solutions and would be
able to help with increased access to care it is important to have one solution that is here to stay.
With funding being a concern in many areas of government; healthcare should not depend solely
on more funding. While transportation is a valid option to help in resolving the rural healthcare
situation it has many pitfalls as well (Cronk, 2015). As we all know weather can cause havoc with

Nietzsche And Buddhism
Both, Friedrich Nietzsche and the Buddha, at least at the level of conventional truth, look at the life
and the world as largely nihilistic and unsatisfying, and search for a solution to the meaninglessness
of their respective cultural situations by turning within and advocating a transformation of our
inner forces and of our outlook on the world. The major difference between Nietzsche and
Buddhism, however, lies in the role of the will in nihilism and its overcoming. For the Buddha, only
by cutting the root of the fundamental will altogether, through the self overcoming of the will to
power, one can step beyond nihilism. The radicality of both Nietzsche s negation and his
affirmation of life, on the contrary, is limited insofar as the standpoint

Similarities And Differences Of The Egyptian, Zhou...
Midterm I INTRODUCTION In historic times, multiple Societies of people living and collaborating
together in a community is what led to the formation of many Empires. Empires were comprised of
similar groups of people that were most often geographically located within close proximities. It is
interesting to compare and contrast three societies which became Empires: the Egyptian, Zhou
Chinese, and Persian. Each Empire is responsible for contributing to a foundational advancement
that has been used in future generations. I will compare the similarities and contrasts of each and
explain why I believe the Persian Empire was the most successful Empire. I will start by addressing
the primary similarities, which are that each Empire was responsible for innovating and creating
things in the following areas of: mathematics, architecture, and philosophy. In contrast, the
differences that existed were due to each Empire creating advancements and developments as a
need from their respective demography, which means their environment and surroundings dictated
the areas they excelled and innovated the most in. After researching these, I deemed the most
successful Empire to be the one in which created the most widely used things throughout the entire
world, and that are still in use today. Also, I determined the most important determining factor of an
Empire being successful was if it had an acceptable democratic and equal societal philosophy. Thus,
I found all these successful

The Role Of Women During Post War Period
The Role of Women During the post war period women were getting more opportunities and
freedoms within society, while at the same time getting more limitations. Using one s maternal
instinct was a concept that was heavily stressed during this period and made a big impact on their
home life and work life. The Cold Warwas a time where women had a lot of responsibilities to
both their family but also society. They were the caretakers and had an incredible amount of work
to do in preparation of nuclear warfare. Women had two main roles during the Cold War, to be a
homemaker and to work with civil defence.
Homemaker
The postwar period brought on the societal expectation that the main goal for all women was to
find a good man to marry and to raise children. Many women were brought up with this ideology
and accepted this expectation. However, the Cold War was a time where women were getting
more freedoms, like being able to work a solid job with wages. Although they could do this prior
to the post war period, this was a time where women were able to rise up in certain industries and
really try to make a career for themselves. Yet, this working women image actually was not the
accepted representation of women during this period. The Cold War period looked down upon
women working a fulltime job and not at home taking care of the family. Women were expected to
fulfill this role of the dutiful wife who was responsible for cleaning, grocery shopping, food storage
and sending the

Quetext. About Faq Contact. Early Days Mahatma Gandhi Was
Quetext About FAQ Contact Early days Mahatma Gandhi was the primary leader of India s
independence movement and also the architect of a form of non violent civil disobedience that
would influence the world. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, popularly known as Gandhi, was born
to Putlibai on October 2nd, 1869 in Porabandar,India. His father, Karamchand Uttamchand Gandhi
served as the Diwan chief minister of Porbandar state. The Indian classics, especially the stories of
and king Harishchandra, had a great impact on Gandhi in his childhood. Gandhi s early self
identification with truth and love as supreme values is traceable to these epic characters. On 21
January 1879, Mohandas entered the local district school in Rajkot, not far from his home.... Show

Mavji Dave, a brahmin priest and family friend, advised Gandhi that he should qualify as a
barrister in London, after which he would be certain to achieve the diwanship. Initially, Putlibai
did not want her youngest son to leave India and travel across the ocean, thereby losing his caste
according to believes at that time. But somehow Gandhi convinced and got the permission to
leave. On 10 August 1888, Gandhi left Porbandar for Bombay (Mumbai). Upon arrival in the
port, he was met by the head of the Modh Bania community, who had known Gandhi s family for
a while. Having learned of Gandhi s plans, he and other elders warned Gandhi that he would be
excommunicated if he did not remain in India. Gandhi did not change his intentions to leave for
England, therefore being daclared and outcast. While in London his mother died, but his family
kept the news from him. South Africa Gandhi was 24 when he arrived in South Africa in 1893
to work as a legal representative for the Muslim Indian Traders based in the city of Pretoria. He
spent 21 years in South Africa, where he developed his political views, ethics and political
leadership skills. Indians in South Africa included wealthy Muslims, who employed Gandhi as a
lawyer, and impoverished Hindu indentured labourers with very limited rights. He believed that he
understood India better by getting to know and leading Indians in South Africa. He faced several
challenges in South Africa. He majorly faced

The Theory Of Sexuality By Sigmund Freud
Few topics evoke so much intrigue and bewilderment, discussion and silence as the concept of
sexuality. It has simultaneously been the focus of scientific experimentation and theoretical debate
since the emergence of the modern world. Traditional views designate sexuality as purposeful,
which is to say that our sexual instinct compels us toward reproduction and the preservation of life.
This parallels human sexualityto that of animals, an instinct that is genetically programmed into us
for the purpose of copulation. This is made to seem analogous to the instinct of hunger or thirst and
taking nourishment (15). In his book, Three Essays on the Theory of Sexuality, Sigmund Freud
challenges these conventional views of the subject. While there are translational inconsistencies
with his use of the word instinct, the term drive actually substantiates his theory. He argues that
sexuality begins in childhood and can develop into a continuum of expressions that are shaped by
experiences at the level of the body, and to a lesser extent, experiences in society. These impulses
of the libidodrive all psychological activity. In this paper I will show that, according to Freud,
sexuality is embedded in our bodily being without being instinctual because it can take many
forms, it can be controlled or repressed and contains mental dispositions. Much of who we are is
shaped from experiences that begin soon after birth and Freud argues that sexuality is no exception.

The Hustle And Bustle Of Starbucks Case Study
The Hustle and Bustle of Starbucks
It is approximately eleven o clock in the morning on a warm Monday morning. Twenty five to
thirty people fill the area. Students and faculty continue to stream in, looking for their morning
fix, whether that be a coffee with an extra shot of espresso or a Starbucks Refresher with
lemonade instead of water. The line wraps around the corner of the counter and outside and to
the right into the library hallway. Some folks look tired; possibly from a long weekend or maybe
a late night studying the previous day. Some are wide awake and upbeat as though they received a
good night s rest and has a fairly easy weekend.
The atmosphere is busy and rushed yet is oddly soothing. A smooth jazz song plays over the
speaker above. The smell of fresh brewed coffee and espresso beans fills the air. Baristas call out
names as orders are completed, Britany, Taylor, Drew, Melissa. The baristas are focused, not
wavering from their tasks as they fill orders; some complicated and some just a simple iced coffee.
The wait time is anywhere from fifteen to forty five minutes. Many people stand with inpatients;
tapping their feet and faces expressing discontent.
A table of girls sit in the back corner discussing the night before. One girl mentions not getting
enough sleep due to being up late studying for an exam she has at one o clock today. Another girl
talks about being really stressed out. She mentions an exam in the next couple days and two
papers due at the end of the week. The mention of something in her personal life, the main point
of stress, sweeps her lips but is said in a hushed tone so that only the people directly around her
are aware of the topic. Another girl in the cluster talks about how her drink is not being
completed fast enough, throwing a few profanities in her statement. She is seemingly oblivious
the many orders the baristas are trying to complete all at once. None of the girls surrounding her
try to tell her she is being insensitive, they all just agree with her and go on about their
conversations. People file in waiting for their Tapingo orders, trying to avoid the wait of the line.
However, the wait is not any shorter.
Many girls look comfortable, dressed in leggings and a

Essay On Knowing The Needs In The Community

developing programs for an organization. To learn what needs are within the community a human
service professional can use the logic model to take the steps for development. The need is

  • 2. Argumentative Essay On Shopping Argument Essay Shopping is one of the most common social activities in our life. Lingering in one store and another, the customers are looking for the products that meet their requirements and making decisions to purchase while enjoying the leisure time with their families or friends. At the same time, to achieve a better business performance, the retailers try to attract the customers to pay more attention to the products and stay longer in their stores by using various kinds of technologies to surveil the shoppers, such as using cameras to monitor their shopping behavior, tracking their purchased items, and even analyzing these consumers background. However, the surveillance of consumers by retail anthropologists is manipulative and unethical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As Ray Burke talked about in his speech How stores track your shopping behavior / Ray Burke / TEDx Indianapolis , the retailers, such as the Marsh supermarkets, are analyzing the backgrounds and the family structures of the consumers which are their personal information, which may get them in a dangerous situation when these data are disclosed to the third parties such as someone with nefarious purposes and the fraud companies. If these data of the information is running without regulation and protection, it would be easy to be used by those who want to defraud the customers. The methods used by the retail industry as an undercurrent manipulation are not only gathering information through the check out scanner but also recording videos through cameras as well as many other ways such as analyzing the search records of an individual who shop online, which may provide some malicious people with the access to the personal information. As the result, there are many people have received tons of spammers which include numerous false advertisement due to the information leaks. On the other hand, as to those VCRs, such as the videotape library of Paco Underhill, according to The Science of Shopping (Malcolm Gladwell), things will turn out to be terrible if these videos resource are hacked by criminals, such as the stalkers and the ... • 3. The War of the Worlds, by H.G. Wells Although it was published seventeen years after my death, the novel War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells is a work of fiction that I would take great pleasure in reading. It would not be because of the futuristic tales of creatures from Mars that would make it so enjoyable, but instead the major themes that present themselves in the novel. It would be quite easy to discover that many of my ideas manifested themselves in Wells work. He drew many of his inspirations and ideas from our mutual friend, and his mentor, Thomas Henry Huxley. War of the Worlds helped perpetuate my work in a literary and fictional fashion, something that I greatly appreciate. For instance, the Martians have heat ray guns, something that the humans have not fathomed yet. The Martians use these guns to their fullest power, and destroy everything around them with a simple zap. In my theory, it is always the more evolved species that comes out victorious. It would appear, with their seemingly superior intelligence, that the Martians would be the obvious victors. They seemed to have everything planned out for their journey to Earth, even the fact that gravity would have a significant effect on them so they developed the tripod machines. In the novel itself, the Martians are referred as the higher intellectual beings. In chapter eleven, the narrator began to compare the things to human machines, to ask [himself] for the first time in [his] life how an ironclad or a steam engine would seem to an intelligent lower animal, inferring that the humans are the lower intelligent animals. So, the Martians win because they have been around longer and they are much smarter, right? Wrong! This is where Wells truly proves his ability as a writer and storyteller. The somewhat obvious choice to win is thrown through a loop, thus losing the fight. The Martians end up dying off because they have been exposed to micro organisms, something they have never encountered before because they have never appeared on Mars or Martian sanitary science ... • 4. The Colossus and Daddy by Sylvia Plath Sylvia Plath is one of the greatest poets of all time the queen of confessional poetry. Her writing is thick with figurative language that cannot be interpreted only one way. Sylvia Plath herself was complicated, and she struggled with her own personal hardships up until the day she took her own life. Plath s father passed when she was only eight, and she struggled with his absence not only though the rest of her childhood but also into adult hood. Many critics believe her famous poems, such as The Colossus and Daddy, were confessional poems Sylvia wrote about her father. Although there are many ties within her poetry to her real father, her writing cannot only be interpreted this way. Sylvia had many demons she likely tried to tackle or even understand through her writing her pain channeling through the speaker. The Colossus, a poem widely believed to stem from her own experiences with death and depression, is a beautiful poem rich with imagery that exposes the pain of living forever in the shadows. The literal definition of colossus means large statue. A colossus can be a statue that represents a deceased person. The Colossus of Rhodes, one of the seven ancient wonders of the world, was so grand in size it was considered one of the tallest statues during that time. The speaker of Sylvia s poem tries to put together a man, whether it be her father or not, to understand him. She considers him a monument, a colossus, an ancient wonder of the world that holds power ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Foxfire Book Summary When people think Appalachia, they think of West Virginia, but the Appalachian Mountains stretch far from West Virginia and the people living in their hills have a shared cultural heritage that is evident no matter what state they are a part of. The above excerpt is taken from The Foxfire Book, the first in a series of books compiling various articles originally published in Foxfire. Foxfire began in 1996 as a class project for high school students at a Georgian private school. The students were tasked with interviewing locals to compile pieces of Appalachian culture and wisdom that these locals had to offer. Aunt Arie is one of those locals and is the first character you meet when you open The Foxfire Book. She is a little old lady living... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There she shares with them stories about her past and her present as well as they help with her chore of removing the eyes from a hogs head. From the way she talked about her preparation and canning of the souse meat as she called it, to her way of speaking in general, anyone who s grown up in the more rural areas of West Virginiawould almost feel like their reading a transcript of their own grandma s words. Her generosity is not to be missed either. Even though she only has the food she can grow herself or from her neighbors own generosities, she still found some to share with the students for a meal. She also talks about, near the end of the interview, how she would always make corn pones (corn bread) for her father to take with him to when he went to the city and for the neighbors when they would come to visit. Her kindness and generosity doesn t go unreturned by her neighbors though. As her description of the hog s head shows. Her neighbors obviously really like her, enough to give her a hogs head with a surplus of meat, one that most people would save for themselves, much less give away for free and refusing any payment at that. It can also be said that she is not too proud to accept help from others, a trait that is very often thought to be possessed by those living in the more southern parts of the ... The author Jensen writes the last words God ever wrote to man is recorded on the pages of the New Testament. In the Old Testament, God gave a partial revelation of Himself, having spoken through prophets and angles, but the full and final revelation came through JesusChrist in the New Testament (Jensen.15).The prophet Isaiah spoke of the days to come, when the new law would go forth from Jerusalem (Isaiah 2:2 4), (Map G) in the New Testament. • 7. A Man By The Name Of Species By Charles R. Darwin Introduction A man by the name of Charles R. Darwin published a book that was titled On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle for Life, (typically called The Origin of Species). Published in 1859, this book caused a great dispute in the world of science. You see, in his book Darwin was just trying to answer an age old question How Did We Get Here? without ever referring to a supernatural creator. This book shocked the science community. Up until now, science was linked to god. The idea to some people that science and God were not together was astonishing. But to others it was horrendous. These people couldn t believe a scientist who didn t refer to God as a natural part ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He mainly concentrated on the finches. Many science historians give credit to the birds (Darwin s Finches) in inspiring Darwin s theory. Let s look at the birds. Bird 1 has thick long beak. Bird 2 has a thick short beak. Bird 3 has a tiny stub like beak while bird 4 has a short narrow beak. Also their food preferences varied between the species. The big beaked birds could crack a shell of an egg, while the small beaked birds could only eat insects. What does this prove? They are a good example of micro evolution. They show us that finches can vary in their morphology, and that natural selection has a role in this. HOWEVER...This study does not give evidence for macro evolution, and does not prove that natural selection and random mutation could produce the living world as we know it from simple single celled ancestors. Microevolution VS. Macroevolution Darwin was able to derail an idea that each individual species on the earth was specially created by God and could never fundamentally change. How? Darwin compared domestic the domesticated versions of many animals with that of their wild counterparts. Example. Wild dogs behaved different from domesticated dogs. Fact most domesticated dogs cannot reproduce with wild ones. Thus domestic dogs were considered a whole different species however, domestic dogs were only wild dogs that the breeder trained. Dog breeders would selectively mate these dogs that had allowed reproducing. This manmade selection Darwin realized this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Emily Rose Religion The benefits that religion and spirituality provide in recovery and psychotherapeutic support are exponential (Bradshaw et. al). It is one of the reasons the correlation between religious mindset and mental health continues to draw scholarly attention. Another confounding variable is that there is little cultural separation between spiritual guidance and psychotherapy. Most Catholic Priest s come equipped with undergraduate and seminary work, the minimum requirement to perform basic counseling in most states. Gettis, a psychiatrist and scholar, postulates that both priest and psychotherapists are mutual socially sanctioned healers drawn together by the belief that they possess healing power (Gettis 188). Injuries are revenged; crimes are avenged. Medea is an ancient Greek tragedy written by Euripides. It was first produced in 431 BC and it is based on the myth of Jason and Medea. The themes prevalent throughout the play is revenge and loss of innocence. It symbolizes how the act of revenge can cause you to betray your loved ones because of your pride and selfishness. How can you claim that you love someone but banish them to become homeless and helpless? Your own flesh and blood. That shows how children nor wife were important in ancient Greek society. Children were born just so that the can take over the fathers place and take care of them when they get old. Even though the parents don t raise the child, the nurse does. The most controversial character is Medea, she chose to murder her own two children just to cause pain to Jason. The children represent innocence and purity. Children are represented as free of any sins or impurities because their minds do not have the capacity to fully comprehend evil as adults do. The nurse is fearful for the boy s life, so she tries her best to keep them out of cite from their mother. The nurse wishes Medea would leave the kids out of her and Jason problem they are not the ones to blame. Evaluating student s abilities to comprehend text and science concepts is a major component because it helps the teacher know how their student s literacy skills are developing (Rakes Smith, 1992). Therefore, assigning formative literacy assessments are crucial in STEM classrooms because it helps educators get an insight on how their students would perform on high stake exams. • 12. Pros And Disadvantages Of Automation Automation is a beautiful endeavor. Much like the tools of the past, automation makes our lives as people easier. Today s technologies allow for more work to be done in less time, for less money, and with less human effort. Jobs that are in the inconvenient middle of being too repetitive to be interesting, but too complex for conventional computers to handle can now be automated seamlessly seamlessly in ways that are more efficient and safe than in ways humans can manage. A potent example would be cooking. Cooking is an occupation that requires precise measurements of both timeand material. If you cook something for too long of a time, it burns up or is overcooked. If you cook something for too short of a time, it becomes undercooked. This may be a problem for humans, but this is far from one for computers. The only input a computer needs is the perfect example to do the task perfectly. The many benefits of switching to automated operation makes it tempting for business owners to switch to it. However, a problem arises when one too many business owners decide to automate everything. The root of this problem stems from the nature of the free market. Money circulates around the country from buyer to seller, or in our case, from employer to employee. The employer fulfills the want or need of a client that they cater to. To better serve these clients, they hire employees to either do more of the work, or research how to do the work better. In return, the employees are given ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Advantages And Disadvantages Of System Development WATERFALL vs. AGILE METHODOLOGY When it comes to systems development today, the most important decision every development team faces is which approach to use. Given the fact that information technology is continually growing, it is extremely important to shorten the time spent on the development as much as possible. This, however, is sometimes easier said than done. Because there are situations where the complexity of the system requires a huge amount of time to develop, it is much wiser to slow down and do things the right way rather than hurry and be forced to repeat the process again. Therefore, it is vital to choose the best approach. Although there are several different methodologies that can be used when it comes to systems development, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The important thing here to mention is that each method consists of activities specific only to them. These activities are yet another difference between the waterfall and agile method. The waterfall model emphasizes planning while the agile method stresses flexibility more. Waterfall model groups its activities in phases, where each phase is different and has its purpose. These phases include planning phase, analysis phase, design phase, implementation phase, and support phase. [1] Because the development process goes from phase to phase, it is crucial to carefully plan each one out. Once you move to the next phase, there is no going back. This model is very simple and easy to understand and use. However, when the system is put to a test, if it does not satisfy all the requirements, then the entire system must be redesigned, which is a very inefficient and costly job to do. This is the biggest weakness of the waterfall approach and that is why this model is best suited for systems with well defined requirements as well as those with a lower chance to change in the near future. In contrast to the waterfall method, the agile method uses the iterative approach to systems development. This way, all the phases that are previously mentioned in the waterfall model are also present, but they are repeated in each iteration. For this reason, detailed planning is unnecessary because, at the end of each iteration, the prototype is tested and improvements are made. Also, it is much easier for clients to be closely involved with the whole process of development. Being able to actually see the system s prototype not only helps clients in forming their image of what they can expect in the end, but also helps developers understand the clients vision of the system. Although the collaboration between developers and clients is positive and most certainly welcome, implementing all ideas that are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Profilers may use behavioral analysis to aid them in pinpointing a suspect. I am interested in pursuing this occupation because what motivates people to act the way they do is intriguing. A profiler can learn a vast amount about a person by simply observing their actions and reactions. The profession of a criminal profiler can be grouped into the categories of requirements, responsibilities, and ramifications. There are strict requirements involved with becoming a criminal profiler. 2, 5 A profiler must have a bachelor s degree in criminal justice, psychology, social sciences, or behavioral sciences (Criminal Profiler). 5 Popular schools for this occupation include Kaplan University, Ashford University, and the University of South Dakota (Study). A benefit of studying this occupation is how the degree programs overlap and bear resemblance. 4 Also, Durant High School provides a forensics class that would aid in preparation for this career. 2, 6 Another couple examples of requirements for becoming an investigator include passing a thorough background investigation and completing an eighteen week period of training at the FBI Academy in Quantico (Clinical). At the 12 years old Ceremony, they are assigned to the job that they will do for the rest of their life. Even though Jonas saw all of this beauty, he also saw tragedy. In one of the memories that the Giver gives to Jonas is the memory of war and battle and everything that goes on during war. Jonas saw people dying and shooting at each other in hate and saw all of the explosions that caused fires and everything was hectic. Jonas did not like that memory at all because he had never heard of or experienced such a tragedy and hardship before because of the Community. The Community kept every type of feeling there was away from everyone, the good and the bad. The following is a summary of the book. It is about a man named Logan, a Marine serving in Iraq, who comes across a photograph in the desert. The photograph is of a woman at a fair with a huge ferris wheel and three trees in the background and on the back it says, Keep safe! E . Logan s best friend, Victor, a fellow Marine, says that he was meant to find that photograph and that it brings him good luck, after Logan tries to find out who is belongs to with no luck and after Logan survives many explosions while having the photo with him. So when Logan returns home, he sets out to find the woman, at Victor s suggestion. All he has is a letter of her name and the background of the photo to go off of. The three flexible mechanisms of the Kyoto Protocol allow Annex I countries to achieve part of their emission reduction commitments abroad. The CDM allows an Annex I Party to implement a project that reduces greenhouse gas emissions or, subject to constraints, removes greenhouse gases by carbon sequestration, or sinks, in the territory of a non Annex I Party. The resulting certified emission reductions, known as CERs, can then be used by the Annex I Party to help meet its emission reduction target. The host country will benefit from the increased investment flows and from the transfer of clean technologies instrumental to advance the sustainable development goals. All countries wishing to participate in the CDM have to designate a National CDM Authority with the task of evaluating and approving the projects. This authority is termed the Designated National Authority (DNA). The main tasks to be carried out by the DNA for the CDM are to provide written approval to the project participants that participation by the Host country is voluntary and to ... Both war poems but conveying their different feelings and presenting their views of war in radically different ways. The poets have polarized views of war with Rupert Brooke writing his poem in a romanticized and patriotic way referring to the possibility of death as a noble cause, for England the land that gave him life. This is at odds to how Wilfred Owen views the reality and horror of war. The rest of the stanza continues to describe the men and the things they saw and sounds they heard: Drunk with fatigue, deaf even to the hoots Of Gas shells dropping softly behind The use of the word Drunk is trying to emphasise that the soldier s were acting oblivious to the happenings around them as if they weren t conscious and even deaf to the sounds of bombs. In the second stanza the poet portrays an ecstasy of fumbling meaning he creates a huge panic of all the men trying to apply their gas masks in time and illustrates the image of one soldier who didn t get his mask on in time. Gas! Gas! Quick boys An ecstasy of fumbling, Fitting the clumsy helmets This is the only quote of one of the men saying something and adds to the image of the rush they were in. The adjective clumsy is used trying to describe how awkward the helmets were to put on, and how much of a hassle they were to put on. One of the men in this poem didn t get his mask on in time and was left by the rest in pain, screaming and becoming weak: But someone was still yelling out and stumbling The word someone is used there because Owen is trying to show the man as being just another soldier. He was nothing special in that he died for his country but no one remembers him as a hero, just one of the thousands of men who died. Owen then says how the someone was yelling out for help, for a soldier to come and rescue him

The area now known as the Levant is a region consisting of Canaan, Transjordan, and Syria Lebanon. It is his bitter attitude conveyed with the usage of words with negative connotations as well as alliteration of mother moaning and pompous priests to emphasise the suffering he had experienced during his childhood which greatly contrasts with the latter part of the autobiography which uses a good natured attitude to balance the bleakness of his life. Giant Steppes Toward Freedom by Ancestors It is difficult for many Americans today to imagine taking everything they own and moving to a new country because of religious and political freedoms. With these freedoms taken so much for granted, we rarely think of the steps taken by our ancestors to gain that liberty. When looking at attempts in history to gain freedom, it is usual to look to the founding fathers of America and their sacrifices. However, other groups of people have strived for the same thing, one such group being the people of the divided German states shortly after the Seven Year s War. Through several generations of Germans, these people moved across country, across continent, and eventually even across the ocean to America in order to gain that much desired freedom. In about 1763, the Germans were experiencing many problems. With the seven years war just behind them, much of the land had been destroyed. Crops were trampled, and properties were decimated, making the living conditions in Germany very difficult. On top of that, the war had left the political system in a state of chaos. At that time, Germany was not together as a nation but was rather divided into forty two different states. Unified Germany as we know it today did not come about until much later, in about 1872. • 38. When Does The N Word Remind People About Slavery Does the N word remind people about slavery? In English speaking lands, this term can be misunderstood as an insult without people s consent, especially in today s society. The word nigger is one of the most controversial factors in the Black and White communities. Nigger is an infamous term in American culture. The meaning of niggeris extended to an ignorant person (Nigger, 2018). Many people like to be polite, and they prefer to call it as the N word. Besides that, the Entomologists online dictionary also shows readers that nigger originated from an English word neger and later reformed to Negro, the Spanish term for blacks (Kenny, 2004). The president went onto explaining that racial prejudice simply could not be curable. Obama explained that people would change the way to use the phrase nigga where it could be an appropriation for surrounding environment even with children around. The music is a beautiful melody with meaningful lyrics, and it is wrong just to insert improper terms: nigger, nigga, and Negro are a disgrace. Besides that, music is the number one factor that the young generation can easily catch onto the trend of using profanity because they tend to think it is cool. They also think that they could fit in with the cool crowd. Nigga, a reappropriated eye dialect word, is so widely used as to be innocuous for my generation (Julious, 2015). It is wrong in this case. Since music is powerful language, young teenager can misuse the word nigger and hurt someone feeling. It can be considered as a bad habit for young people, they can constantly apply the N word in their daily speaking without their prior knowledge. Depending on how old ... The team and I have brought water supplies to last until our last day, along with food and other snacks. So far, we have not yet discovered what started these fires. Our team has decided to put non injured victims into a hotel until finding them a new shelter. 14,000 residents were evacuated from Gatlinburg around noon. The fires continue to grow and roar at the innocent mountains that several claim home. Winds were up to 70 mph, forcing the fires to continue and spread throughout the forests. Day 2: Our crew was up until midnight last night, exploring areas that the fires have left for dead. We found some victims and gave them the supplies they needed before providing them shelter. No deaths have yet been recorded from the fires. Several homes and important buildings have been destroyed from the fires, such as, The Mystery Mansion. • 40. Implementation. The Solution That Is Chosen Is Telehealth Implementation The solution that is chosen is telehealth; types of technology that will be used will need to be considered. The forms of technology that will be used with the telehealth program are video conferencing, digital scales, a remote monitoring devices like a biosensor, blood pressure monitors, automated medication dispensers, and a smart phone (Nelson Stagger, 2014). An important aspect to remember is how these forms of technology can be used to help increase access to care. These types of technology can prevent un needed trips to the doctor or ED, as well as increasing access to the provider. This can be a lengthy and costly process; there are currently discussions about mutual recognition for APNs like there are for RNs in compact states (Nelson Staggers, 2014). As with any other changes at the organizational level there must be new information and regulations about what patients are appropriate for telehealth program; this information will be sent out via the organization education website or procedure manual. This policy and procedure will need to have a signature to verify that all employees have addressed it. One policy that may need to be updated or reviewed would be the HIPPA policy for the organization. Some of the hesitancy with implementing telehealth into practice is privacy, so when implementing the telehealth program staff will be re educated on HIPPA (The Compliance Ethics Blog, 2016). With the education provided the organization will avoid any HIPPA violation fines. Conclusion Rural areas need improved access to care. While all the solutions discussed, would be great solutions and would be able to help with increased access to care it is important to have one solution that is here to stay. With funding being a concern in many areas of government; healthcare should not depend solely on more funding. Nietzsche And Buddhism Both, Friedrich Nietzsche and the Buddha, at least at the level of conventional truth, look at the life and the world as largely nihilistic and unsatisfying, and search for a solution to the meaninglessness of their respective cultural situations by turning within and advocating a transformation of our inner forces and of our outlook on the world. The major difference between Nietzsche and Buddhism, however, lies in the role of the will in nihilism and its overcoming. For the Buddha, only by cutting the root of the fundamental will altogether, through the self overcoming of the will to power, one can step beyond nihilism. The radicality of both Nietzsche s negation and his affirmation of life, on the contrary, is limited insofar as the standpoint ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Similarities And Differences Of The Egyptian, Zhou... Midterm I INTRODUCTION In historic times, multiple Societies of people living and collaborating together in a community is what led to the formation of many Empires. Empires were comprised of similar groups of people that were most often geographically located within close proximities. It is interesting to compare and contrast three societies which became Empires: the Egyptian, Zhou Chinese, and Persian. Each Empire is responsible for contributing to a foundational advancement that has been used in future generations. I will compare the similarities and contrasts of each and explain why I believe the Persian Empire was the most successful Empire. I will start by addressing the primary similarities, which are that each Empire was responsible for innovating and creating things in the following areas of: mathematics, architecture, and philosophy. In contrast, the differences that existed were due to each Empire creating advancements and developments as a need from their respective demography, which means their environment and surroundings dictated the areas they excelled and innovated the most in. After researching these, I deemed the most successful Empire to be the one in which created the most widely used things throughout the entire world, and that are still in use today. Also, I determined the most important determining factor of an Empire being successful was if it had an acceptable democratic and equal societal philosophy. Thus, I found all these successful ... The Role Of Women During Post War Period The Role of Women During the post war period women were getting more opportunities and freedoms within society, while at the same time getting more limitations. Using one s maternal instinct was a concept that was heavily stressed during this period and made a big impact on their home life and work life. The Cold Warwas a time where women had a lot of responsibilities to both their family but also society. They were the caretakers and had an incredible amount of work to do in preparation of nuclear warfare. Women had two main roles during the Cold War, to be a homemaker and to work with civil defence. Many women were brought up with this ideology and accepted this expectation. However, the Cold War was a time where women were getting more freedoms, like being able to work a solid job with wages. Although they could do this prior to the post war period, this was a time where women were able to rise up in certain industries and really try to make a career for themselves. Yet, this working women image actually was not the accepted representation of women during this period. The Cold War period looked down upon women working a fulltime job and not at home taking care of the family. • 47. The Theory Of Sexuality By Sigmund Freud Few topics evoke so much intrigue and bewilderment, discussion and silence as the concept of sexuality. It has simultaneously been the focus of scientific experimentation and theoretical debate since the emergence of the modern world. Traditional views designate sexuality as purposeful, which is to say that our sexual instinct compels us toward reproduction and the preservation of life. This parallels human sexualityto that of animals, an instinct that is genetically programmed into us for the purpose of copulation. This is made to seem analogous to the instinct of hunger or thirst and taking nourishment (15). In his book, Three Essays on the Theory of Sexuality, Sigmund Freud challenges these conventional views of the subject. While there are translational inconsistencies with his use of the word instinct, the term drive actually substantiates his theory. He argues that sexuality begins in childhood and can develop into a continuum of expressions that are shaped by experiences at the level of the body, and to a lesser extent, experiences in society. These impulses of the libidodrive all psychological activity. In this paper I will show that, according to Freud, sexuality is embedded in our bodily being without being instinctual because it can take many forms, it can be controlled or repressed and contains mental dispositions. Much of who we are is shaped from experiences that begin soon after birth and Freud argues that sexuality is no exception. The exploration of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. The Hustle And Bustle Of Starbucks Case Study The Hustle and Bustle of Starbucks It is approximately eleven o clock in the morning on a warm Monday morning. Twenty five to thirty people fill the area. Students and faculty continue to stream in, looking for their morning fix, whether that be a coffee with an extra shot of espresso or a Starbucks Refresher with lemonade instead of water. The line wraps around the corner of the counter and outside and to the right into the library hallway. Some folks look tired; possibly from a long weekend or maybe a late night studying the previous day. Some are wide awake and upbeat as though they received a good night s rest and has a fairly easy weekend. The atmosphere is busy and rushed yet is oddly soothing. A smooth jazz song plays over the speaker above. The smell of fresh brewed coffee and espresso beans fills the air. Baristas call out names as orders are completed, Britany, Taylor, Drew, Melissa. The baristas are focused, not wavering from their tasks as they fill orders; some complicated and some just a simple iced coffee. The wait time is anywhere from fifteen to forty five minutes. Many people stand with inpatients; tapping their feet and faces expressing discontent. A table of girls sit in the back corner discussing the night before. One girl mentions not getting enough sleep due to being up late studying for an exam she has at one o clock today. Another girl talks about being really stressed out. She mentions an exam in the next couple days and two papers due at the end of the week. The mention of something in her personal life, the main point of stress, sweeps her lips but is said in a hushed tone so that only the people directly around her are aware of the topic. Another girl in the cluster talks about how her drink is not being completed fast enough, throwing a few profanities in her statement. She is seemingly oblivious the many orders the baristas are trying to complete all at once. None of the girls surrounding her try to tell her she is being insensitive, they all just agree with her and go on about their conversations. People file in waiting for their Tapingo orders, trying to avoid the wait of the line. However, the wait is not any shorter. Many girls look comfortable, dressed in leggings and a ...
