The Alaska Department of Natural Resources collected high-resolution lidar data along proposed natural gas pipeline routes in Alaska to facilitate analysis during pipeline design, permitting, and construction. The data was collected to evaluate terrain factors like active faulting, slope instability, and erosion that could impact the pipelines. The data will provide a base map for the state-federal GIS database to analyze permit applications and construction plans for the proposed pipelines.
