Endocrine System By: Aisha Lane
-crine=to secrete Endocrine Exocrine are glands of the endocrine system that secrete their products, hormones, directly into the blood rather than through a duct the main endocrine glands include the pituitary gland, pancreas, ovaries, testes, thyroid gland, and adrenal glands are glands that secrete their products into ductswhich lead directly into the external environment they are the counterparts to endocrine glands, which secrete their products directly into the bloodstream, or release hormones that affect only target cells nearby the release site.
-ism=state of or condition of Hyperpituitarism Hyperthyroidism is the result of excess secretion of adenohypophyseal tropic hormones most commonly by a functional pituitary adenoma Other causes are hyperplasias and carcinomas of the adenohypophysis, secretion by non-pituitary tumors and certain hypothalamic disorders. is the term for overactive tissue within the thyroid gland causing an overproduction of thyroid hormones It contains hormones thyroxine or "T4" and/or triiodothyronine or "T3").
