Our brief was to make a short horror film between 5-7 minutes titled "The Devil's Playground" about teenager safety around strangers. To develop ideas for the film, we watched horror movies like "Final Destination" and "Insidious 1" to analyze their genre features, mise-en-scene, continuity, and what made them scary. We applied aspects like the casual look of characters in "Final Destination" to convey that danger can happen to anyone, and used techniques like suspense and jump scares from "Insidious 1" to make our own film scary.

The filmmakers had several issues during production that required changing their storyline and locations. Their main character was unavailable so they had to find a new one. The onboard microphone also had issues, forcing them to use background noise. Some rooms were occupied, so compromise was needed. Despite challenges, they were able to get some good shots including wide, panning, close-ups and tracking shots to develop the story. Acting was also good. Editing in iMovie was simpler than professional software. Multiple reshoots from different angles helped improve the story.

- 2. Aims of the brief Our brief was to make a short film between 5 and 7 minutes with in the horror genre which had to be titled ‘’The Devil’s playground’’. The message of the film has to be safety of teenagers around stranger. In order to make the film we had to watch some horror films therefore we can get ideas about the genre. We also had to analyze in order to get the idea of horror genre and which features are included and are applied in horror genre
- 3. Aim of the brief We watched ‘Final Destination’ in which we had to analyse the film and look at the mise-en-scene which was casual look to the characters. This shows that this can happen to anyone therefore we added this feature to our film to make it more scary. We also watched ‘Insidious 1’ in which we looked at the continuity and what makes the film scary. So we got some good ideas on how to make suspense and jumpscares.
