A bridge between the intern, leadership development and AIESEC:
a) He/she needs to assist the intern and makes sure that the intern feels free to discuss
any problems or difļ¬culties he might be facing.
b) He/she needs to ensure that interns are fulļ¬lling the inner journey of their leadership
experience.

Quality Control:

a) He/she ensures and tracks that the intern has a quality experience.
b) Consistent and efļ¬cient interaction between interns and AIESEC members

General Rules:
1. If not speciļ¬ed, TMP used as an Intern Buddy should have + 6 months experience.
2. If your LC wants to utilise returned EPs please ensure if have excellent tracking of Intern Buddies and the
expectations are made clear.
3. This is a general guide, if you ļ¬nd that you have some issues such as (my iGCDP OCs are working too hard
during RE to be intern buddies) then you can adjust the intern buddy proļ¬le accordingly.

Note:
1.If you have MB or potential MBs that are not IXPs, being an Intern Buddy is an extremely beneļ¬cial role for
them to experience exchange and the ā€˜leading othersā€™ experience to add value to their current or future role.

AIESEC Indonesia Intern buddy

  • 3. INTERN BUDDY is the person responsible for enabling internā€™s inner journey. Without this individual there is no way for AIESEC to ensure, deliver and measure that interns are living a challenging and purposeful experience.
  • 4. Organisation Value: Market Value: To achieve fulļ¬llment of humankindā€™s potential through higher quality experiences by fulļ¬lling the inner and outer journey of leadership for interns with a role responsible for developing and tracking leadership development of interns a) Intern: Interns are promised a leadership development experience. The Intern Buddy will ensure this development b) TN taker: To develop and enable Interns to fulļ¬ll their JD to their best ability c) Indonesia: Provide better interns to make impact for Indonesia Personal Value: Enable TMP to understand the relevance of GCDP and exchange to AIESEC. Allow members to live a leadership experience where they are in charge of the development of others.
  • 5. Intern Buddy Objectives 1 A bridge between the intern, leadership development and AIESEC: a) He/she needs to assist the intern and makes sure that the intern feels free to discuss any problems or difļ¬culties he might be facing. b) He/she needs to ensure that interns are fulļ¬lling the inner journey of their leadership experience. Quality Control: 2 a) He/she ensures and tracks that the intern has a quality experience. b) Consistent and efļ¬cient interaction between interns and AIESEC members A friendly face to introduce Indonesia: 3 a) He/she shows the intern the Indonesia culture, mentality, everyday life and tradition. b) Helps interns to adjust and integrate themselves easier and faster in the new environment c) Facilitates direct relationship for the interns to communicate their needs
  • 7. Proļ¬le/ Application/ Campaign Job Description Notes: 1. Intern Buddies should not handle more than 2 Interns
  • 8. Proļ¬le/ Application/ Campaign Proļ¬le JAN-JUN iGCDP GOAL General Rules: 1. If not speciļ¬ed, TMP used as an Intern Buddy should have + 6 months experience. 2. If your LC wants to utilise returned EPs please ensure if have excellent tracking of Intern Buddies and the expectations are made clear. 3. This is a general guide, if you ļ¬nd that you have some issues such as (my iGCDP OCs are working too hard during RE to be intern buddies) then you can adjust the intern buddy proļ¬le accordingly. Note: 1.If you have MB or potential MBs that are not IXPs, being an Intern Buddy is an extremely beneļ¬cial role for them to experience exchange and the ā€˜leading othersā€™ experience to add value to their current or future role.
  • 12. Education/ Induction Intern Buddy Induction/ Education Please use the EP LEAD wiki and this PPT for EP Buddy Education to ensure you have delivered everything. Since Intern Buddy follow the aforementioned proļ¬le, there is only need for a quick review of AIESEC knowledge and introduction and expectation setting of the role/JD/evaluations etc.
  • 13. Introduction/ Expectation Setting Buddy Activities before Arrival Please use the EP LEAD wiki and this PPT for EP Buddy Education to ensure you have delivered everything.

Start-XP Evaluation 1 Personal Development Plan Fill in Personal Appraisal a) Fill in Key Activities based on the Job Description and agree on set targets. b) Create score baed on self or intern buddy evaluation about current pool of skills c) Fill in CAT Tracking Report based on CAT score of intern Note: Development Planning should happen during Week 1 of the Intern Experience.
  • 16. Start-XP Evaluation 2 Personal Development Plan Self Assessment: a) Fill in the self assessment, be sure to create a comfortable environment
  • 17. Start-XP Evaluation Personal Development Plan Development Planning: 3 a) Use the self assessment as a guide to ļ¬ll in the strengths, competencies and skills/ knowledge that the interns want to develop. b) Ensure that each strength/competency/skill/knowledge have a target/activities and deadline to support it.
  • 18. Start-XP Evaluation 4 Personal Development Plan Other Goals: a) If there are any other goals related to internā€™s personal development, ļ¬ll add it in the Other goals tab.
  • 19. Start-XP Evaluation 5 Weekly Development Focus Tracker Review: a) Create Weekly Development Focuses based on previous goals and development areas assessed and link with JD.

Inner Journey Tracking Tracker Review Tracker Review: In between Pre-Mid and End-term evaluations, the Intern Buddy must also check in with feedback and suggestions for development for the intern. Rather than review the entire personal development plan each week, intern buddies can focus on this sheet and review the weekly development focus.

Mid-term Evaluation Mid-term Evaluation 1 2 Update Personal Appraisal a) Update achieved key activities based on completion of tasks and adjustment of Job Description/ Intern Activities b) Create score baed on self or intern buddy evaluation about pool of skills c) Insert Overall Feedback Self Assessment: a) Review the self assessment, is there anything the Intern wishes to add? Development Planning: 3 4 a) Check the deadlines for strengths, competency building and skill and development b) Following deadline ļ¬ll Output from achievement of task or further actions needed. Development Planning: a) Check the deadlines for strengths, competency building and skill and development, what is left to be completed? b) For the deadlines achieved, what is the output? eg. Intern has improved in their CAT score by 20% c) Are there any further actions needed following a deadline or missed deadline? Other Goals: a) What was the goal achievement, assess by the individual and assess by the Intern buddy.
  • 26. Farewell & Recognition Certiļ¬cates 1. All recognition for EPs will be based on the Personal Appraisal and Personal Development Plan. Therefore make sure that the certiļ¬cates are created.
