Agree or Disagree with reference Scenario 2: Argument FOR the addition of the AVID program Assistant Superintendent Sharon Gray’s idea to add the AVID program to Pocono and Jefferson Middle Schools as well as Riverboat High School is based on an evident need for more academic opportunities and support for students of color in AP courses throughout the district. The ineligibility for these students to progress onto more advanced classes presents an obvious roadblock in providing equal opportunities for all students. Although the addition of the program is costly and requires minor restructuring within each school, the benefits will outweigh the costs. It is the obligation of the district and individual schools to ensure students’ needs are met. As educators, we accept the responsibility to support our students’ success and facilitate their growth. Many teachers may disagree with the addition of the AVID program, but once they are presented with the data of its benefits to students, they should realize it is part of their job and accept the changes with professionalism and understanding. The presentation of the addition of AVID to these three schools is a key factor in the ways the faculty and community with accept the pending changes. When district officials and school administrators present the changes, they must do so with empathy and transparency. They must acknowledge that these changes will be uncomfortable for many, but they will be there to support the teachers during the transitional period of implementation. The cost of the AVID teachers should not be a concern for the faculty because the district officials should reassure the faculty that the funds will not affect their pay scale or future salaries in any way. Stader (2013) recommends districts and school officials analyze academic courses and demographics on a continuous basis to ensure all students are receiving equal opportunities for academic, social, and emotional success. Upon analysis, Sharon Grey made an astute observation, followed up with the middle and high school principals for confirmation, and sought counsel from the superintendent who also supported the addition of the AVID program to better prepare students and provide them with equal opportunities to succeed. Educators in both public schools and in universities must work together in the preparation of teachers who are culturally, socially and instructionally responsive to student diversity. This lofty preparation aim begins with selecting the most promising teacher candidates for admittance into the program. The author describes an admissions procedure that has proven to be not only efficient and effective, but reflects the collaborative values of the program.
For over a decade, advocates of educational reform have supported professional development schools (PDSs) as a way for school and university partners to promote simultaneous renewal of both institutions. PDS aims are now commonplace: (a) provide exemplary education for preservice teachers, (b) support continuing professional development of experienced teachers, (c) engage in the renewal of curriculum and instruction, and (d) involve schools and universities in collaborative research.
Essential to these aims is the collaborative process. Establishing trust, recognizing cultural differences, and breaking perceived roles between school teachers and university faculty are key if partnerships are to be anything more than traditional in nature. University instructors, including teacher educators, are entering into cooperative working ventures with more frequency than ever before. Critical to the successful attainment of any partnership project are the people involved and the common commitment to program quality and coherence. In the ongoing process of developing, nurturing, and maintaining partnerships, one can expect to confront both predictable and unforeseen obstacles. Sharing information on program structures and systems will help advance the development of university and K-12 partnerships. The purpose of this article is twofold: (a) to describe, and (b) to analyze an admissions procedure, which reflects the values of the program and efficiently and effectively promotes the involvement of K-12 personnel in what is traditionally a university decision. To this end, we briefly discuss the history of this partnership and the key values that drive our work. Next, we elaborate on the admissions process and how it reflects those values in linking the university and schools. In taking stock of where we have made progress and where we have not, we examine the perceptions of major stakeholders in this process. We conclude with a discussion of recommendations to others considering similar efforts.

According to Farber (2016), enrollment in colleges is continuously declining. This trend can be attributed to various factors such as failure to be accepted to one's school of choice, high tuition, and low diversity, among others. Hence, institutions are seeking ways of increasing students' enrollment rates. In this regard, a faculty in the business school can offer a vital perspective in enacting such changes in an institution since it facilitates direct interaction between administrators and students. There are three major themes, which higher education administrators should address if they want to increase students' access to higher education. First, there is the rise of online degree programs, which offers one with the flexibility to learn from remote locations at convenient times. Second, there is the aspect of diversity, which makes people from various backgrounds feel valued in an institution. Finally, there is the issue of high tuition fees, which locks out students from low socioeconomic backgrounds.
A policy that a faculty in a business school can enact to enhance students' access to affordable and high-quality education is to offer high-quality degree programs on online platforms. Currently, there is a limited number of quality degree programs that can be accessed on online platforms. However, an institution that fully adopts online programs can cover all the three themes identified above. Online applications will ensure that there is no limit to the number of students that can enroll in an institution since there are no considerable infrastructure demands to host the learners. Such a policy will ensure that a student can enroll in an institution of his/her choice at considerably low tuition rates. More so, such a system will increase diversity in a learning institution. For lessons that require practicals, the institution can liaise with local partners so that there is a schedule on when a batch of students goes for practicals. A faculty in a business school is best placed to consider the logistics of student learning in such a setup.

With an initial evaluation, this study seeks to ascertain the level of readiness of the Don Andres Soriano National High School Senior High School Grade 12 learners for the school year 2022 2023 to pursue the various Senior High School exits. A comparative descriptive research design was used for this quantitative study of 227 randomly chosen Grade 12 margin of error of 0.05 . Scaling and multiple choice questionnaires similar to those used on college entrance exams were the two types of questionnaires used in this study. Today education in high school is different from what most students face in college. Every year many students graduate from high school from all around the world, but the question that many students do not ask themselves is “I am prepared to move forward.” Many students struggle when they take classes at colleges. Sometimes they fail, do not do well in college and they feel disappointed and drop out of college. Many students feel that everything is new for them because the way that they had been taught was different or maybe it was a basic style. Students believe that high school should be more like preparation to enter to college; teachers should teach as college professors do, so that the students do not get surprised when they enter into a college institution.
High school is the end for some students, but for other, it is only a new beginning. Students face many responsibilities, new ways of learning, and different ways of teaching when they are introduce into a college institution. For some students, it is hard to adapt to this new ways of learning because in high school it was different. Yates Kathy Jo Ed Ph. made a survey to find out if students were prepare for college.
‘The analysis indicated that students who entered college prepared for college-level work, based on earned ACT scores, were much more likely to graduate within 3 years as compared to students who entered college underprepared and required to take developmental courses. According to Farber (2016), enrollment in colleges is continuously declining. This trend can be attributed to various factors such as failure to be accepted to one's school of choice, high tuition, and low diversity, among others. Hence, institutions are seeking ways of increasing students' enrollment rates. In this regard, a faculty in the business school can offer a vital perspective in enacting such changes in an institution since it facilitates direct interaction between administrators and students. There are three major themes, which higher education administrators should address if they want to increase students' access to higher education. First, there is the rise of online degree programs, which offers one with the flexibility to learn from remote locations at convenient times. Second, there is the aspect of diversity, which makes people from various backgrounds feel valued in an institution. Finally, there is the issue of high tuition fees, which locks out students from low socioeconomic backgrounds.
A policy that a faculty in a business school can enact to enhance students' access to affordable and high-quality education is to offer high-quality degree programs on online platforms. Currently, there is a limited number of quality degree programs that can be accessed on online platforms. However, an institution that fully adopts online programs can cover all the three themes identified above. Online applications will ensure that there is no limit to the number of students that can enroll in an institution since there are no considerable infrastructure demands to host the learners. Such a policy will ensure that a student can enroll in an institution of his/her choice at considerably low tuition rates. More so, such a system will increase diversity in a learning institution. I am not a scholar of English or literature. I cannot give you much more than personal
opinions on the English language and its variations in this country or others. I am a writer. And
by that definition, I am someone who has always loved language. I am fascinated by
language in daily life. I spend a great deal of my time thinking about the power of language—the
way it can evoke an emotion, a visual image, a complex idea, or a simple truth. Language is the
tool of my trade. And I use them all—all the Englishes I grew up with.
Recently, I was made keenly aware of the different Englishes I do use. I was giving a talk
to a large group of people, the same talk I had already given to half a dozen other groups. The
nature of the talk was about my writing, my life, and my book, The Joy Luck Club. The talk was
going along well enough, until I remembered one major difference that made the whole talk
sound wrong. My mother was in the room. And it was perhaps the first time she had heard me
give a lengthy speech, using the kind of English I have never used with her. I was saying things
like, “The intersection of memory upon imagination” and “There is an aspect of my fiction that
relates to thus-and-thus”—a speech filled with carefully wrought grammatical phrases, burdened,
it suddenly seemed to me, with nominalized forms, past perfect tenses, conditional phrases, all
the forms of standard English that I had learned in school and through books, the forms of
English I did not use at home with my mother.
Just last week, I was walking down the street with my mother, and I again found myself
conscious of the English I was using, the English I do use with her. We were talking about the
price of new and used furniture and I heard myself saying this: “Not waste money that way.” My
husband was with us as well, and he didn't notice any switch in my English. And then I realized
why. It’s because over the twenty years we’ve been together, I’ve often used that same kind of
English with him, and sometimes he even uses it with me. It has become our language of
intimacy, a different sort of English that relates to family talk, the language I grew up with.

means that the conflict is dissolved. Did you get what you asked for?
If so, then you are happy. If you did not get what you wanted, then
you are not happy. In the first scenario, your expectation is that, when
you finally decide on a solution, the employee will be satisfied. In the
second scenario, you do not expect the employee to leave your office
satisfied unless you take some action that is acceptable to her. But the
reality is often more complex than that. Just as important—sometimes
more important—are the other two sides of the satisfaction triangle,

In 1955, when Robert Guthrie, PhD, enrolled in a master's program at the University of Kentucky, he was a singular dark face against a backdrop of white.
"I remember one of my white professors eyeing me as if I were an anthropological specimen and remarking, 'You are from one of our Negro schools,'" Guthrie recalls.
His fellow white students didn't offer much support, either, he says, though he once attended a football game after a white student begged him. But when the band played "My Ol' Kentucky Home," a song that at the time included favorable portrayals of slavery, Guthrie knew he had to "get my education, then get the hell off campus."
Despite the discomfort and frustration he felt, however, Guthrie always knew he had a right to be there. That sense of confidence is what propelled him to pursue a degree in psychology when few blacks could, to go on to teach at the University of Pittsburgh, to study multicultural issues as a senior research psychologist in Washington, D.C., and to pen the now-classic tome, "Even the Rat Was White: A Historical View of Psychology."
Last spring, the National Archives of American Psychology honored Guthrie as the first African-American psychologist to deposit his papers there. Asking Guthrie to contribute was a natural choice for the archives because he has worn almost every one of psychology's hats, from research to teaching to government service, says director David Baker, PhD.
"We know almost nothing about the development of psychology at historically black colleges and universities, and only Bob Guthrie's work examines this in detail," Baker explains. "African Americans have much to be proud about their struggle against adversity, like the fact that in my lifetime they were not allowed to attend many grad schools simply because of their race. There are stories of inspiration, courage and strength, and also of anger, frustration and hurt."

Most gunshot victims do not die. In some estimates, 80
percent live to see another day. Yet social scientists
continue to focus on gun homicide. What happens to
individuals who get shot and survive? How do they
experience life after the shooting? This article examines
how gunshot injuries transform the lives of victims. In
practical ways, gunshot injuries complicate sleeping,
eating, working, and other previously taken-for-granted
activities. These disruptions also have much larger exis
tential significance to victims. Indeed, daily experiences
with a wounded body become subjective reminders that
individuals are no longer who they used to be. Ironically,
in some interactions, being wounded becomes attrac
tive and advantageous to victims. Together, these
themes illustrate the need for more sustained ethno
graphic work on the foreground of violent crime vic
timization.

Jooyoung Lee is an assistant professor of sociologi) at
the University of Toronto. He conducted this research
as a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health 6
Society Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania. He is
currently writing two books. The first is an ethno
graphic study on the careers of aspiring rappers from
Los Angeles. The second is an ethnographic study on
the individual- and community-health effects of gun
shot victimization in Philadelphia.

1 Assignment:Economic Environment
In 2018 I worked in a soft drinks company where they adopted the recent technology in the production to increase the production rates and the accuracy of the quality of the products. After the introduction of the technology in the company, a large number of people lost their jobs since the tech replaced the labour and was cheaper than the manual production that involved individuals directly. The technological factors are one of the external factors that are increasingly affecting the business organization. The business changes relate to the presence and the development of technology.
The technology increases the supply of the products. The increase in the supply enables the company to keep up with the demand for the soft drinks. The technology enables the company to increase the productivity and the communication between the suppliers and the consumers. The company can cut down the waste as well as keep up with the demands due to technological advancement. The technology also increased the accuracy in production due to the machinery that was more accurate than the human labour and the company was able to cut down the waste again. The company reduced its expenditure in terms of the losses incurred due to poor production.
It is important to consider the environment while thinking about the strategy change. The supply and demand within the business affect organizational ability. The demand and the supply stimulate each other impacting the prices of the goods and services in the budget. The customer's interest in specific products exhausts the supply available and increases demand. The demand and supply of goods and services have a high influence in determining the prices of goods and services. The prices of the product are likely to fall if the supply keeps on growing and if the supply keeps on decreasing the prices are likely to keep on growing (Becker, 2017). However, with the market economy, the interest consumers, as well as the companies, produce limits product that matches the demand and the supply and it is used in determining the product development and production.

This project is an opportunity to carefully examine a contemporary foreign policy issue between the United States government and one other foreign government.
Completing this activity is a mandatory component of this course. It serves as the standard course assessment for all GOVT 2305 students and is a college requirement. Failure to submit and complete this project in its entirety will result in a failing grade for the course.
There are four steps to completing this project:
Step 1 – Identifying the Issue
The policy paper will address a US foreign policy concern toward a country or specific topic.

Step 2 - Gathering Sources
Conduct research to locate
three academic journal articles
(aka: peer-reviewed or scholarly sources) that specifically address issues within the foreign policy relationship you selected and meet the following criteria:

The articles must be no more than ten (10) years old

The article must have more than five (5) pages of actual content (without graphs, charts, footnotes, citations, etc.).
•
Books will not count toward the scholarly source minimum requirements.
• Carefully choose sources that provide a variety of perspectives on your selected topic.
• In addition to the minimum research requirements, you should use high quality sources for essential current events information relevant to your topic. These may include academic sources that are not peer-reviewed (position papers), newspaper articles, magazine articles, and other quality or reputable sources.
• The course textbook, encyclopedias (including Wikipedia), and almanacs, are reference materials and are
not to be listed as sources on the collegiate level

The presentation of the addition of AVID to these three schools is a key factor in the ways the faculty and community with accept the pending changes. When district officials and school administrators present the changes, they must do so with empathy and transparency. They must acknowledge that these changes will be uncomfortable for many, but they will be there to support the teachers during the transitional period of implementation. The cost of the AVID teachers should not be a concern for the faculty because the district officials should reassure the faculty that the funds will not affect their pay scale or future salaries in any way. - 2. academic courses and demographics on a continuous basis to ensure all students are receiving equal opportunities for academic, social, and emotional success. Upon analysis, Sharon Grey made an astute observation, followed up with the middle and high school principals for confirmation, and sought counsel from the superintendent who also supported the addition of the AVID program to better prepare students and provide them with equal opportunities to succeed.
