So you're on a team that is doing something other than agile methods. But you want to experiment and/or use some agile practices such as WIP limits, TDD, and relative estimation. Here's one approach to that sticky issue.
Transformation vs adoption agile india 2014 :How to use the Culture ModelEbin John Poovathany
Â
This presentation is about getting to know about the culture models and the impact of that in the agile transformation and adoption. You will get some easy to use and handy tools which can be used to turn around your transformation and Adoption.
1. Allah listens to our duaas and will answer them if made sincerely, but sometimes what we think is good may actually be bad for us due to our limited perception.
2. People who pray to others besides Allah are actually only praying to Allah as none but Him have any power, but He may test people by fulfilling some duaas to misguide them into shirk.
3. Our duaas may not be accepted if we show impatience, earn unlawful provisions, or fail to enjoin good and forbid evil. We should only seek help from Allah with full trust that He knows best.
Alcohol consumption is prohibited in Islam for several reasons:
1) It causes tremendous societal harms like increased crime rates, broken homes, and mental illness based on statistics.
2) Both the Quran and Hadith explicitly prohibit alcohol consumption. The Quran calls it "Satan's handiwork" and the Hadith state it is "the mother of all evils."
3) Alcohol inhibits the brain's inhibitory center, removing self-control and often leading people to do things they would not normally do, like abusive behavior.
Consumption has dire individual and societal consequences like increased rates of rape, incest, and disease transmission. Islam aims to preserve human's natural state, so
This document seeks to address and dispel several common misconceptions about Islam, including that it tolerates killing innocents, that Muslims are inherently terrorists, that jihad means holy war, and that Islam spread by the sword. It argues that the Quran unambiguously prohibits killing innocents and that terrorists who do so commit a grave sin. It explains the true meaning of jihad as struggle, including fighting oppression. It also notes Islam's judicial system only mandates retaliation with strict conditions and forgiveness is better. The document concludes that Islam could not have spread by force, as the Quran states there is no compulsion in religion.
The document discusses why Prophet Muhammad had eleven wives when Muslims are normally allowed only four. It explains that the Quran made an exception for Prophet Muhammad, allowing him to keep his previous wives and marry slave girls. It says Prophet Muhammad's marriages were based on political and social considerations to unite tribes and spread Islam, not for sexual reasons, as many were older women. His marriages helped end hostilities with powerful clans and facilitated important political alliances.
This document discusses the Islamic belief regarding where Allah is located. It provides scriptural evidence from the Quran and hadiths to support the Sunni view that Allah is above the seven heavens on His throne (Arsh), separated from His creation. It acknowledges Allah's knowledge encompasses all things but argues this does not mean His essence is everywhere. It refutes claims by rationalists and others who deny Allah's loftiness, asserting scripture takes precedence over human reason in establishing religious truths. The document aims to establish the creed of Allah's loftiness using evidence from the Quran, hadiths and early Muslim scholars.

The document discusses whether the Islamic concept of abrogation implies that God made a mistake in the Quran. It provides 4 examples to argue that abrogation does not mean contradiction:
1) Challenges to produce a book/surahs like the Quran became progressively easier, without contradicting earlier challenges.
2) Gradual prohibition of intoxicants occurred over 3 stages without contradiction.
3) Abrogated verses are still true and followed by obeying the latest revelation.
4) For there to be contradiction, verses must not be possible to follow simultaneously, but all Quranic verses can be followed together. Therefore abrogation does not imply contradiction or mistake by God.
1) Awliya Allah refers to the friends or close ones of Allah who have sincere faith and taqwa (piety). They believe fully in Allah and follow the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad.
2) The key characteristics of Awliya Allah are having strong faith, obeying the Prophet, performing mandatory and optional prayers/deeds, and constantly striving to please Allah through repentance.
3) While Awliya Allah strive to follow the right path, only Allah can truly judge one's taqwa and identity them as a friend of Allah. Outwardly, they may appear like ordinary people.
This document discusses using cooperative learning to teach reading comprehension. It notes that students struggle with finding information, understanding words, identifying main ideas, and finding references in texts. Teachers did not adequately motivate or explain these skills. The document proposes cooperative learning as a solution where students work in small groups to complete tasks and learn from each other. It defines cooperative learning and lists benefits like simultaneous interaction, equal participation, and positive interdependence that can improve reading comprehension. Finally, it concludes that cooperative learning shows promise for high academic standards if tailored properly to each cultural context.
This document discusses the literary elements of allegory and allusion. It defines allegory as a story that can be read symbolically to convey a deeper meaning. Allegory provides two meanings to a poem - a surface meaning and a symbolic meaning that conveys the true message. Allusion is defined as a reference to something assumed to be known, like historical events or other works of literature. The main function of allusion is to use references that readers will understand to portray complex concepts simply.

This document provides standards and competencies for reading and writing skills in Indonesian. It includes standards for understanding short functional texts and analytical essays in everyday contexts. Key competencies involve responding to meaning and rhetorical steps in essays using accurate written language.
The document then discusses a narrative text structure, which includes orientation, complication, and resolution. It provides examples of language features in narratives, including past tenses and noun phrases. Vocabulary lists words related to animals, nature, and locations.
An example narrative text is provided about a cat, frog and camel comparing when they were born. Comprehension questions follow about the story's genre, characters' actions and reasons. The conclusion restates that narrative texts have an orientation
This document provides tips and strategies for negotiating, developing assertiveness, managing stress and pressure, developing organizational skills, prioritizing tasks, reflecting on experiences, taking effective notes, and giving oral presentations. It discusses separating people from problems in negotiations, focusing on interests not positions, generating options before decisions, and agreeing on solution criteria. For managing stress, it suggests identifying stress sources and reactions as well as finding healthier coping mechanisms like exercise. Good organizational habits include spending time wisely, avoiding time wasters, and setting clear to-do targets.

This document discusses conflict resolution and provides techniques for effectively managing conflict. It notes that conflict is a natural part of interactions and relationships. There are five approaches to conflict resolution: avoidance, collaboration, compromise, competition, and accommodation. Collaboration seeks a mutually agreeable solution where all parties' needs are met. Compromise finds a middle ground where each side gives up some needs. The document provides tips for resolving conflict respectfully through empathy, active listening, open questions, explaining perspectives carefully, and thinking creatively. It concludes that conflict cannot always be avoided or solved, and that the goal is to minimize damaging conflict.

This document provides tips for developing leadership abilities. It emphasizes that honesty, integrity, communication and serving others are key qualities of great leaders. Leaders should prioritize these to gain the trust of their team and build a cohesive work environment focused on shared goals. Fostering diversity, listening to employees, and continuous self-improvement are also important for leadership success.
The document introduces Liberating Structures (LS), which are simple group activities designed to include more people in shaping the future. It provides an overview of LS and then demonstrates several specific LS, including:
- Impromptu Networking, which allows people to rapidly share challenges while building connections.
- 1-2-4-All, where participants generate ideas alone, then in pairs, groups of 4, and finally all together, focusing on the best ideas.
- TRIZ, where participants identify counterproductive behaviors and ways to "stop" them to make space for innovation.
- 15% Solutions, which focuses on small actions anyone can take now using their current resources and authority.
The document discusses the differences between a leader and manager in business ownership. A leader asks questions, raises expectations, creates value and vision, and leads by example. In contrast, a manager uses power and controls by following policies and procedures. To be an effective leader, business owners must prioritize communication, serve as a role model, and develop a team environment where employees feel involved and responsible. The most important aspect of a business is having happy, satisfied employees, which is better achieved through leadership rather than management.
The document provides sample interview questions for a first job interview. It lists common questions asked under the following categories: education, career goals, self-assessment, creativity, decisiveness, range of interests, motivation, work standards. Some examples of questions include: "How has your education prepared you for this position?", "What are your strengths and weaknesses?", "Describe a conflict you were involved in and how it was resolved", and "What motivates you in your work?". The document aims to help job applicants prepare answers to common questions asked in entry-level job interviews.

Launch Your Streaming Platforms in MinutesRoshan Dwivedi
Â
The claim of launching a streaming platform in minutes might be a bit of an exaggeration, but there are services that can significantly streamline the process. Here's a breakdown:
Pros of Speedy Streaming Platform Launch Services:
No coding required: These services often use drag-and-drop interfaces or pre-built templates, eliminating the need for programming knowledge.
Faster setup: Compared to building from scratch, these platforms can get you up and running much quicker.
All-in-one solutions: Many services offer features like content management systems (CMS), video players, and monetization tools, reducing the need for multiple integrations.
Things to Consider:
Limited customization: These platforms may offer less flexibility in design and functionality compared to custom-built solutions.
Scalability: As your audience grows, you might need to upgrade to a more robust platform or encounter limitations with the "quick launch" option.
Features: Carefully evaluate which features are included and if they meet your specific needs (e.g., live streaming, subscription options).
Examples of Services for Launching Streaming Platforms:
Muvi [muvi com]
Uscreen [usencreen tv]
Alternatives to Consider:
Existing Streaming platforms: Platforms like YouTube or Twitch might be suitable for basic streaming needs, though monetization options might be limited.
Custom Development: While more time-consuming, custom development offers the most control and flexibility for your platform.
Overall, launching a streaming platform in minutes might not be entirely realistic, but these services can significantly speed up the process compared to building from scratch. Carefully consider your needs and budget when choosing the best option for you.

We implement context-sensitive pointer/alias and dataflow analyses on Graspan. An evaluation of these analyses on large codebases such as Linux shows that their Graspan implementations scale to millions of lines of code and are much simpler than their original implementations.
These analyses were used to augment the existing checkers; these augmented checkers found 132 new NULL pointer bugs and 1308 unnecessary NULL tests in Linux 4.4.0-rc5, PostgreSQL 8.3.9, and Apache httpd 2.2.18.

Hand Rolled Applicative User ValidationCode KataPhilip Schwarz
Â
Could you use a simple piece of Scala validation code (granted, a very simplistic one too!) that you can rewrite, now and again, to refresh your basic understanding of Applicative operators <*>, <*, *>?
The goal is not to write perfect code showcasing validation, but rather, to provide a small, rough-and ready exercise to reinforce your muscle-memory.
Despite its grandiose-sounding title, this deck consists of just three slides showing the Scala 3 code to be rewritten whenever the details of the operators begin to fade away.
The code is my rough and ready translation of a Haskell user-validation program found in a book called Finding Success (and Failure) in Haskell - Fall in love with applicative functors.
4. THE PROBLEM
• YOU ARE INTERESTED IN DOING AGILE METHODS BUT:
• YOU CAN ONLY DECIDE FOR YOURSELF, NOT FOR OTHERS
• YOUR TEAM IS DOING SOMETHING ELSE
• YOU FEEL AGILE IS NOT APPLICABLE BECAUSE EVERYTHING IS TEAM-BASED
• WHAT ELSE?
6. LEARNING IS THE BOTTLENECK
• CAN WE ACCELERATE OUR LEARNING WITHOUT THE REST OF THE TEAM?
• TEAM PRACTICES? (KANBAN, SCRUM, RELATIVE ESTIMATION, ETC…)
• TECHNICAL PRACTICES? (TDD, REFACTORING, ETC…)
• PERSONAL AGILITY? (WHAT IS THIS ANYWAY?)
7. TEAM PRACTICES
• ITERATIONS
• WORK IN PROGRESS LIMITS
• TRANSPARENCY
• DELIVERING CUSTOMER VALUE INSTEAD OF COMPONENTS
• SEEKING CUSTOMER FEEDBACK
• WHAT ELSE?
8. TECHNICAL PRACTICES
• TEST DRIVEN DEVELOPMENT
• REFACTORING
• CONTINUOUS INTEGRATION
• BEHAVIOR DRIVEN DEVELOPMENT
• EVOLUTIONARY DESIGN
• WHAT ELSE?
9. PERSONAL AGILITY
• NOT AS WELL KNOWN, BUT EXTREMELY IMPORTANT
• SAFETY
• RESPECT
• OWNERSHIP
• NEGOTIATING AGREEMENTS TO BUILD TRUST
• WHAT ELSE?
10. EXAMPLE: WIP LIMITS
• WORK IN PROGRESS LIMITS
• PERSONAL KANBAN
• CAN YOU ACCEPT MULTIPLE THINGS BUT ONLY WORK ON ONE AT A TIME?
11. EXAMPLE: TDD
• CAN YOU PRACTICE TDD ALONE?
• WHAT ARE THE DANGERS?
• HOW CAN YOU AVOID THEM?
• IS IT WORTH IT?
12. EXAMPLE: BDD
• HOW CAN YOU PRACTICE BDD WITHOUT THE TEAM?
• WHAT EXTRA DO YOU NEED TO DO?
• WHAT IS THE BENEFIT?
• WHAT ARE THE DANGERS?
13. PERSONAL AGILITY
• CAN YOU MAKE/KEEP/RENEGOTIATE AGREEMENTS ALONE?
• ARE THERE ANY DOWNSIDES?
• WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES?
14. WHAT CAN’T YOU PRACTICE ALONE?
• WHAT PRACTICES TOTALLY FAIL IF YOU DO THEM INDEPENDENTLY?
• WHY?
15. PATTERN
• UNDERSTAND THE BENEFITS OF ANY PRACTICE THROUGH THE LENS OF
ACCELERATED LEARNING
• CAN YOU LEARN FROM THIS PRACTICE ALONE?
• IF NOT, IS THERE A WAY THAT YOU CAN INFORMALLY WORK TO GET
COOPERATION FROM INDIVIDUALS?
16. ADOPTION ADVICE
• TAKE ONE PRACTICE AT A TIME
• CONDUCT AN EXPERIMENT WITH A HYPOTHESIS
• TEST THAT HYPOTHESIS AND ITERATE
• MUCH OF THE DIFFICULTY YOU WILL FACE IS BUILDING A HABIT
(HTTP://TINYHABITS.COM/ )
• ONLY TAKE A NEW PRACTICE AFTER ANOTHER PRACTICE IS COMPLETE OR
DISCARDED
17. CONCLUSION
• MOST PRACTICES CAN BE DONE INDIVIDUALLY
• FOCUS ON YOUR LEARNING WHICH DIRECTLY ENABLES YOUR PROGRESS
• TAKE ONE PRACTICE AT A TIME
