This document describes the design of an affordable and high-efficiency inverter. It uses an IC4049 oscillator circuit to produce a square wave output from a DC input voltage that is stepped up via a transformer to produce a high voltage AC output. A charging circuit is also included to charge the battery when mains power is restored. The circuit diagram and description are provided. Testing showed the designed inverter successfully converts the DC battery voltage to a high voltage AC output to power loads, with the goal of providing a low-cost solution to power electrical devices during power outages.

ABSTRACT
An inverter can be taken as a crude form of UPS. Obviously the main use of an
inverter is only for powering common electrical appliances like lights and fans during a
power failure. Main scope of our paper is to design a less expensive and High-Efficiency
inverter. Inverter is used to invert the input direct voltage to large magnitude of
alternating voltage, to invert the current we use an oscillator. Oscillator is connect to the
transformer to step up the voltage and provide an high voltage output current during
power backups when the battery gets discharged to a considerable level, the charger
section is used to charge the battery once the AC mains is restored.

I INTRODUCTION
The Oscillator IC4049 is used as an inverter circuit to produce a logic operation
it inverts the input current to the high voltage output current. To be successful in this
task the inverter must both draw out as much energy from the modules as possible and
feed in as much energy as possible. To ensure maximum operation time and minimized
down time a monitoring system is recommended. Depending on preferences different
solutions may be considered, a selection of solutions is therefore presented. How the
inverter is installed may also influence the system so this is also addressed. Finally we
will briefly mention considerations regarding service of the inverter.

2. II PROPOSED TECHNOLOGY
In this paper we have discussed about to built a high efficiency with
in-expensive inverter. Before constructing the inverter following components are basic
components to perform an oscillation.
o Oscillator: The DC Voltage which is stored in the battery is to invert an
oscillating Current or a square wave which is fed to a secondary winding of a
power transformer. In this circuit IC 4049 is used for an oscillating section.
o Transformer: Transformer is an electrical device which is used to transfers
energy between two circuits by using electromagnetic induction. It is used to
convert the one level of voltage into another level of voltage. In this section
applied oscillating voltage is stepped up in this section. Output voltage is
always higher then input voltage
o Charger: This section is used to charge the battery when the AC main is
restored. An electric battery is a device that converts the stored chemical
energy into electrical energy

3. IV CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
Gates N1 &N2 of IC 4049 are configured as oscillator. It performs the primary
functions of supplying square wave to inverter section.
Gate N3 to N6 are used as buffers. Alternating voltage from the buffer stage
is applied to the base of the current amplitude transistors T1& T2 these
transistors conduct in accordance with the applied alternating voltage and
amplitude it to base of output transistors T3 &T4.
These output power transistors oscillate at full swing, delivering t he entire
battery voltage into each half of the secondary winding alternatively.
The secondary voltage is induced in the primary winding of the transformer
and is steeped up into a powerful 230 volts(AC). This voltage is used to
power the output load.

It is a maintenance free simple circuit which is used to provide a less
Expensive and high efficiency inverter.
VII CONCLUSION

4. The project we undertaken to design a high efficiency and low cost
inverter with the help of 4049 Oscillator IC which is easy-to-use and provide an
low cost and high efficiency. By using this method we can solve the one of the
major problem of our country and provide a electricity to all peoples during the
power off. By using this method we get less space and easy maintenance.
