2. INTRODUCTION
Every human being has a life span including
birth, childhood, adolescence, adulthood, old
age and death.
During adolescence, we are physically strong
but self-conceptualization of many things may
be more drastic causing many problems like
addiction.
In India it is the period of age of 8 – 18 years in
girls and 7 – 19 years in boys.
During this period proper guidance from family,
teachers, fallows, friends, experts etc. are most
essential to shape the future in a right way.
3. COMMON PROBLEMS OF ADOLESCENCE
Acne / Pimples
These are clogged pores of skin as a
side effect of over secretion of sex
hormones.
Hypochondria
This is obesity and disfigurement of
body due to change in hormone
secretion.
Anorexia Nervosa
Malnutrition to overcome
hypochondria, it lead to heavy
weight loss and other complications.
(30% Females, 18% Males ).
Neurasthenia
It is the inability to concentrate and
enjoy things, may lead to fatigue,
irritation, insomnia, depression,
headache.

Post-traumatic Stress
Trauma means operations, it may
be for abortion etc.
Addiction
It is dependence of body on drugs,
alcohols etc.
Phobia
It is a fear. May be for water,
animals, height, etc.
Early Marriage
Lead to too early, too frequent
and too many pregnancies.
Teen Age Pregnancy
High risk of abortion, maternal
mortality, low weight birth etc.
AIDS
Lack of proper knowledge and
improper guidance and
friendship.
