Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)
The typical description of a disease would be something that causes unwanted effects on the body;
however, mental illnesses show few physical symptoms and cause problems that outsiders can rarely
see. Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), to be specific, is a complex disorder that occurs when a
person has five of the following symptoms: a depressed mood, diminished pleasure, weight loss or
gain, insomnia, lethargy, problems with concentrating, fatigue, feeling worthless, or having thoughts
of suicide (Myers 3). While MDD is chronic, depression is the infrequent counterpart. The official
etiology of depression is important because it is widespread and is becoming increasingly more
common. Knowing why an illness occurs, in theory, can help physicians ... Show more content on

Genetic predisposition is an important part of the formation of mental illnesses. Mental illnesses and
depression often onset early in life due to the amount of stress and genetic predisposition. Specifically,
the SERT gene regulates serotonin in the body (Parks 30). Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that affects
mood, behavior, and memory. A neurotransmitter helps to relay messages to other areas of the body
through neurons, nerve cells, that are placed throughout the body. A neurotransmitter either inhibits or
excites messages through the body, such as pain or other feelings. The brain produces serotonin, which
is then spread throughout the body via the blood vessels. According to David Myers, the formula for
depression is a traumatic or important life stressor plus a variation on a serotonin controlling gene
(Myers 10). When serotonin production is imbalanced, sleep problems and irritability have a high
chance of occurring, which are linked to the onset of depression. Low serotonin levels trigger
depression after a traumatic event occurs (Parks 30). When the SERT gene is mutated, the risk for
depression increases. Variations in neurotransmitters and the genes that produce them, especially
serotonin and the SERT gene, lead to the development of depression when serotonin production is
imbalanced or

Misogynistic Greek Culture
Moreover, the misogynistic Greek culture exemplified significant inferiority complexes towards the
ties between women and nature. Women within Greek culture were significantly looked down upon.
Their purpose was to serve as child bearers and even then that power is taken away from them in
certain points of Greek mythology. For instance, when Zeus is trying to protect his son from Hera, he
sows him into his leg and then essentially gives birth to him in four years time. In many cases it is
shown how threatened the Greek men are by females; to the point that they either blame them for their
misfortunes by portraying them as the mistake or fail to deliberate on the female goddesses, as it is in
the case of Pandora and Athena. Then the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It also shows how they blame women yet again for their misfortunes, similarly to the Greeks with
their first human woman, Pandora. In the Japanese creation myth the first primal woman, Izanami, is
blamed for having a deformed child since she was the one who spoke first after the marriage
ceremony. However, when the marital ritual is performed again and the man, Izanagi, speaks first
afterwards everything is fine and Izanami was able to have healthy children. This scapegoat of a
reason is to blame women for a deformed child because she spoke first is preposterous and speaks
volumes at the obvious gender inequalities between Japanese men and women. Then its presence
becomes known again when Izanagi goes to retrieve his wife from the underworld and when he sees
that his beautiful wife is a rotting corpse, he runs away and leaves her. This reiterates a particular
notion that a woman without beauty completely loses her value. Once a woman is no longer of sexual
benefit to a man, she becomes a putrid stain upon the world and in mythology is portrayed as such in
villainous ways. For instance, when Izanami sees her lover leave her, she becomes enraged and sends
evil hags to pursue him and Izanami herself transforms into a full fledged demon . (Japan 114). Yet
again, the Japanese creation myth expresses a deep schism between how a man can

20th Century European Imperialism
Imperialism is a policy of extending a countries power on influence through democracy or military
force. During the 19th through 20th century the world was going through what is now known as the
New Imperialism. During this time Europe was conquering Africa. Europe went through a lot of
changes that affected their belief about themselves. The changes that happened during this time led to
the resurgence of economic nationalism and national imperialism. Europeans occupied the top end of
the continuum. The Europeans thought that Africans were inferior. Slave abolitionists contributed to
the idea of Africans being and inferior by arguing that Africans had to be protected from the slavers
and that they couldn t take care of themselves. Also scientist believed that the Africans were and ...

They didn t understand why the Africans worked the way they did. Europeans argued that by
colonizing Africa they were also exporting civilization to a continent which they regarded as
evolutionary backwards and undeveloped. The departing powers left behind few Africans equipped to

Shen Congwen The New And The Old Summary
Writer Shen Congwen is not as straightforward politically involved as Lu Xun is in his short stories.
Shen Congwen writes about revolution through a series of lenses that is quite different from that of Lu
Xun. Where Lu Xun takes a more rational stance on how things should progress in China through
revolution, Shen Congwen wants the reader to see the beauty in revolution and life as a Chinese
citizen. In his short story The New and the Old, the reader experiences a dramatic scene about a
soldier who is called upon to carry out an execution. As the story continues, the reader discovers that
this executioner is the best one in town, and that his executions are seen as a true art, not very many

Critically examine the response of Hong Kong government to the housing problems of the urban poor.
Introduction:
Hong Kong is a densely populated metropolitan so there are a lot of housing problems especially for
the urban poor. As the housing problems in Hong Kong such as the shortage of housing units are
getting more acute, it is worth making an in depth analysis for the sake of gaining a deeper insight of
the responses of the government in housing problems.
I will focus on different measures and actions taken by Hong Kong government in 21th Century. All
data collected is based on library research and online research. There are three main responses after

Essay about Gene s Coming of Age in A Separate Peace
Gene s Coming of Age in A Separate Peace
The novel, A Separate Peace, by John Knowles, is the coming of age story of Gene Forrester. This
novel is a flashback to the year 1943, when Gene is attending Devon School during his senior year and
the summer before it. Gene s youth and inexperience make him ill equipped to deal with situations
that require maturity (Overview: A Separate Peace 2). However, Gene is a follower of Finny and
therefore gains experiences that provoke his development into adulthood. Some of these experiences
include: breaking Finny s leg, training for the 1944 Olympics, and killing Finny. Through these three
experiences Gene is forced to grow out of his childish self and become a man. ... Show more content

Gene becomes more disciplined and athletically inclined. He is undertaking circumstances that he
knows will never come true, the 1944 Olympics, yet making the best of them to please his best friend.
Gene is learning to do things although he does not want to do and that have no purpose. This is a
difficult task for an immature child; however, through Gene s ability to train for the inexistent
Olympics, shows that he is growing up. He looks at his training as if he were preparing for the war.
Accepting that he must go to war is also another sign of maturity brought on by the training for the
Olympics with Finny. Through his preparation for the Olympics, Gene s coming of age becomes more
and more evident.
Finny s death causes the greatest maturity growth in Gene s character. After Finny dies, he realized
how his own hatred caused the death of his best friend. He came to understand Finny s innocence and
purity which causes Gene to see flaws within himself and forces him to grow up (Alton 1). Being able
to admit your own flaws is critical in maturing. When Gene finally sees his impact of immature
behavior, he realizes how much he needs to mature. Even though Finny is physically gone, his spirit
remains with Gene and essentially makes him the adult that he grows up to be. Finny s death is a
crucial part of Gene s coming of age. When Finny dies, Gene s immature behaviors also die. Because
Gene s hatred was gone, he entered war as a man.

Analysis Of White Log
Adapting
Throughout life, people change a great deal. In many novels, the characters change, they usually have
no idea that they are changing. The characters usually change in different ways. Multiple characters
might change by being ruthless and blackhearted, and then at the end, they are a happy and cheery
character. White Fang and Buck have changed an amazing amount. For example Buck changed from
being a happy, lovable character, to answering the call of the wild. White Fang, went from being a
ruthless, wild beast to a lovable, domesticated character. People could build up confidence and change
without the world ending. White Fang is an amazing novel written by Jack London. The main
character, White Fang, is a ferocious, ruthless wolf. At first, he is not allowed to go towards the wall
of light and when he does, he finds the answers to every one of his curious wishes. He starts out as a
curious little pup, then proceeds to be a curious pup until he meets his first human. When he gets taken
back to camp, Kiche comes to his rescue, but they get taken in instead. He started hunting with his
mother at a young age, and therefore he learned things quicker. He progressed with his mental age of
course, throughout the novel, and had to become an adult dog at a young age to protect his mother and
himself. His attitude toward children from the Indian camp to the time he became a part of Weedon
Scott s family, he went through many changes. At Weedon Scott s house, he knew

Pros And Cons Of Zoroastrianism

Zoroastrianism teaches there is sacredness to the elements of fire, water, earth and air (Hopfe

Dangers of High School Football
I never really thought going back would cost me in the long run, Monti says (Tyler). In today s society,
young men participating in football are raised to be tough and take a hit . What they do not consider
are the dangers of going back too soon. Many athletes will be experiencing symptoms of concussions,
like dizziness and vision issues, but they continue to play (Meadows). American football is one of the
most popular and loved sports in the nation. From nearly birth to adulthood, a majority of boys will
participate in football. Football brings entertainment to millions of viewers, but it can also be very
threatening to the lives of young men. Although high school football can be amusing, the dangers can
lead to injuries and diseases and therefore affect the young athletes in the long run.

However, there is a cost that comes with the increased awareness; people start to assume and

In Beard s article, she discusses the argument of how the ancient Romans viewed the Vestal Virgins.
Beard states that, Yes, it is obviously the case that religion may reflect the gender differences and
categories operating within society more generally; it is obviously the case, too, that any system of
religious symbolism may in part be constructed out of (or parasitic on) gender categories defined in
the wider cultural world (Beard 169). The statement that Beard makes relays the idea that both
tradition, religion, and society plays a role in the standards that we give to boys and girls. In relation to
how the binary gender system works within society, the New York Times article relays this concept
that Beard discusses about how gender differences and categories have influence on other aspects of
society. In the article, Davis writes that, She is not gender nonconforming. She is gender role
nonconforming. She does not fit into the mold that we adults who have increasingly eschewed

The City Of New Orleans
The City of New Orleans is a remarkable city and has enormous potential for expansion.
The Big Easy has always been known for the French Quarter, yet New Orleans is so much more than
just a party city . I suspect there is a demand to show the family friendly side of our city. My proposal
is to offer new development in a vigilant and financially responsible manner, while offering a glimpse
of the extraordinarily exciting and expansive visions that I hope to witness in the future. The market
feasibility and infrastructure demands must both be carefully assessed. The objective of this tourism
plan is to show the possibility of developing a
Disney Park and 2 Disney Resorts in New Orleans. While there have been notable failures and
setbacks along its progress, New Orleans is an international tourist attraction. Visitors come here from
all over the globe to witness our history and culture. My proposed plan will be evaluated based on
current trends, possible investment, and future economic impact. Mixing our culture with a little
Disney magic is just what the City of New Orleans needs.
Theme parks play an important role in generating revenue and tourism demand. They are one of the
leading reasons people vacation to many destinations. The theme park market is very competitive and

My Personal Goals And Goals Of A Good Teacher
Introduction During the past four weeks in Guadalajara, I have received well designed and intense
training from ITTO and as a result, I have learned an immense amount about how to design lesson
plans confidently, regardless of type of class (conversation, grammar, etc) and regardless of
availability of resources (textbooks or no textbooks, etc). While I believe that I have always had a
passion and aptitude for teaching, ITTO has given further tools in the form of practical training and
job search guidance. I have progressed well during this short but intense period of training but I will
continue to improve as I work as an English teacher in Latin America going forward. What is a Good
Teacher? In my opinion, a good teacher has the following qualities: He teaches because he enjoys the
process of improving the academic and professional lives of students, instead of doing it strictly for
the money. As a result, students recognize and appreciate his passion for teaching and develop a
trusting and respectful relationship with the teacher He creates a nurturing environment that is warm,
accessible, and caring. He encourages students to show effort and to ask questions openly in class
without fear of mockery by peers He works hard to prepare the lesson materials and he is adaptive to
unpredictable circumstances, such as when students arrive late to class, the course has to be taught
without a pre existing textbook, or when the lesson takes longer than he anticipated and he

Bureaucracy In A Bureaucratic Organization
Good afternoon students, today s presentation shall be about bureaucratic organization. By the end of
this presentation, we hope you have a great understanding of what bureaucratic organization is! We
hope you stay engaged because we shall be having a Kahoot at the end. Enjoy!
Administrative class:
(i) People have to be paid and have to be whole or full time employees.
(ii) They receive a salary and other compensations usually based on their positions.
(iii) Their jobs in the organization are determined by the rules and regulations of the organization.
(iv) They do not have any proprietary interest in the organization.
(v) They are selected for employment based on their level of competence.
Hierarchy:
¬ A Hierarchy is a system of ranking positions in descending order from the top of an organization to
the bottom.
¬ The basic feature of bureaucratic organization is based on the hierarchy of positions in the
organization.
¬ In a bureaucratic organization, offices are to follow the principle of hierarchy that is each lower
office is subject to control and supervision by a higher office.
¬ Communication coming down or going up must pass through each position.
Division of Work:
¬ Division of work in an organization that is divided on the basis of specialization is to take the
advantages of division of labor
¬ Each office in the bureaucratic organization has specific intentions of competence.
¬ Every person in their division has a clear area of work.

The Declaration Of The Rights Of Man And Citizen By...
We live in a world that is based around freedom and rights. As citizens, we expect to have a say in
how we live everyday life, whether it involves employment, owning a house, or who we elect as
president of the United States. Either way, our world is based around our natural rights. After the
Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen was written, this caused a wave of revolution. This
Declaration had an impact on populations such as Haiti, but also had a major impact on countless
other slave populations. For the basis of slavery, we read through Abina and the Important men and
saw how different characters in the story defined the term slavery. Another view came from a former
slave Frederick Douglas who was a leading abolitionist. For ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Even though there were a large number of African Americans on the plantation, the whites still owned
them, being merchants, slave masters, etc. This land was a major target for sugar, everybody wanted
this land. Following the revolution, the meaning of rights was different for the whites and blacks. As
Strayer quotes on page 793 in the textbook, To the slaves, the promise of the French Revolution was a
personal freedom that challenged the entire slave labor system. Slaves burned 1,000 plantations and
killed hundreds of whites. As a part of the African American race, there was a former slave who led
the blacks to a victory over the French rule. This former slaves name was Toussaint Louverture.
Following the revolt, many British people realized that slavery was going against human rights. The
Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen outlined the rights that humans were supposed to be
given. Some of these rights included natural rights, political and civic rights , according to (Strayer,
812). So as a result of the revolt and abolition, people were now agreeing that slavery violated the
African American human rights.
In the story of Abina and the Important Men, we take a look at a West African woman who was
enslaved and had brought her case to court with the Important Men. A majority of this story takes
place in the court room, where Abina brings her former master to court. The beginning of this story

Regency Gentlemen Amusements Essay
Regency Gentlemen Amusements
The Regency Era, generally referring to the time period of 1800 1820, was undeniably a time of
pleasure seeking and over indulgence. The Regency era represented a time when the current ruler, mad
King George III, was incapable of performing his royal duties. Due to his madness, the King s son the
Prince of Wales, a Regent and heir to the throne, was appointed to govern. The Prince of Wales was
designated Regent in 1811 (Channel4). During this era people of the upper class had a great deal of
leisure time, and their major task seemed to be to entertain themselves. Some of the more popular
amusements of rich and fashionable Regency gentlemen were boxing, cockfighting, and ... Show more

The competition was not finished until one man lay unconscious, and this often took hours (channel
4). Despite the popularity of boxing, cockfighting was still considered to be the period s most
widespread sport.
Cockfighting ranged across all social classes. Tournaments were held between gentlemen, often
geographically based with one area playing another. The cockpits were a common place where all
social classes gathered to place bets and watch the match. Although even the smallest town had a
cockpit, Regency gentlemen were known to hold contests at their own estate. This pastime was a
common practice and even influenced furniture makers to offer cockfighting chairs (GI).
Unlike bare knuckle bouts between people, cocks were precisely paired by weight in all the more
heavily staked cockfights. Human training was elementary when compared to the training of
gamecock. The cocks often had bone or metal spurs strapped over the birds beak to insure a fight to
the death. Cockfighting began to diminish in England only after The Royal Society for Cruelty to
Animals began to bring actions in the late 1830s, based on an 1835 Act against animal cruelty (GI).
With boxing and cockfighting s growing interest, both created an obsession with gambling.

Being Ranked The Second Strongest Alien
I can remember it like it was just yesterday. My Father the strongest alien on planet Jungle, had left
the safety of our house in order to deal with a civilization of aliens, outside of our door steps, intent on
taking him down for his authority and power, the group had a power that overshadowed all others
within the race. This left me in charge for the remainder of the time, to protect those I see unfit to fight
for themselves in our household, if my father was defeated. I quite honestly believed being ranked the
second strongest alien; I had a horrible fate due to the struggles that accompanied the position. My

In the following, a general overview of UML as a unified language will be given. It is important to
provide a basis for a better understanding of how UML works in logistical processes. Therefore a short
outline of the history and the development of UML will be presented with a subsequent explanation of
what UML is and what types of diagrams exist. 2.1 Development of UML The origin of UML is
software development. But in the 90 s, a large number of different approaches, several books on object
oriented software modeling and a lot of graphical notations existed. The most prominent
representatives of object oriented notations are Booch from Grady Booch, Objectory from Ivar
Jacobson and Object Modeling Technique (OMT) from James Rumbaugh. The initiators of UML
gradually recognized the significance of a unified method for software engineering. In 1995 Grady
Booch and Jim Rumbaugh combined their both methods Booch and OMT and announced Unified
Method 0.8 (UM 0.8) at the conference OOPSLA in Austin, Texas. But this method lacked on the
integration of the customer and the user of the system. Soon Ivar Jacobson who brought the focus to
the Use Case Diagram joined Booch and Rumbaugh. Together they reduced the range of UM 0.8 to a
pure language and so developed the

The Power of Eve Ensler s The Vagina Monologues Essay
The Power of Eve Ensler s The Vagina Monologues
When Obie award winning author and playwright, Eve Ensler, began collecting testimonials from
women across the country regarding their experiences with sexuality, she had no idea what would
eventually occur as a result of her innovative ideas. Ensler gathered 200 monologues from women,
and wove them into a play that represents the strength and vitality of female sexuality. The Vagina
Monologues were first performed in the basement of New York City s Cornelia Street Café in 1996.
Since that time, the play has become a symbol of awareness and advocacy about violence against
women, and has been translated into 24 different languages, making it an international success (2005,

The Vagina Monologues uncovered the vital role that female sexuality played in human life. Not only
was this unearthed sexuality something to celebrate, but it was also an indicator of hidden tragedies
taking place around the world.
The accomplishments of the Vagina Monologues can be attributed to the creation of V Day in 1998.
As a result of Ensler s production spreading across the United States through small, intimate venues,
stories of women who had been victims of rape, incest, domestic battery, and genital mutilation, began
to surface. Ensler noticed this trend, and decided to start a movement to end the violence. The plan
was simple: claim each Valentine s Day, February 14, as V Day until the violence ends. Once the
violence ends, V Day will become Victory Over Violence Day. That goal may not have been reached
at this point, but Ensler s efforts have certainly created a worldwide movement that continues to grow
(2005, vday.org).
Today, Ensler s Vagina Monologues have opened the door to a new level of humanity: love and
compassion for the female gender. Since the creation of V Day in 1998, the cause has raised over $25
million to become one of Worth Magazine s 100 best charities in 2001. With the translation of the play
into many different languages, V Day has created grassroots activism against violence in numerous
countries. Eve Ensler has

Essay on Unraveling the Issues of Compensated Organ Donations
Introduction
Compensated organ donations one of the most controversial issues we have today. The scarcity of
organ donations in America is the main reason there is a sudden diversion of possible source of
organs. Beginning with donations of organs from cadaver to living donors, different strategies sprung
just to reduce the said shortage; as a result of this quest, sale and paid organs is one of the approaches
that gathered too much attention from the public. The controversy of paid organ donations entered the
limelight when the state of Wisconsin offered incentives to the living donors. This law, which was
created in the year 2004, grants tax deduction and repayment of donation expenses such as travel cost
and lost earnings. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, it also violates human dignity because it treats the organs and human body parts as
commodities. Not to mention the fact that such action weakens and demoted altruism. However, the
real picture of compensated organ donations is actually the opposite of unethical and self interest ; it
promotes life and therefore regarded as a good and moral deed. Organ Donation s Supply and Demand
Knowing the rate of supply and demand of organ donation helps in establishing a clear background
about the issue. For instance, Monti (2009) explained the reality of supply and demand of kidneys.
The supply of this organ coming from deceased and altruistic donors are not enough to support the
demand of those individuals who are in need. Approximately there are 73,000 people who wait for
kidney donations and 18 of those who are in the wait list will die by tomorrow. Accordingly, the list is
being added by 6,000 individuals every year. An individual has to wait for five years before he/she can
get an organ donation. The facts and figures presented by Monti shows that there is a big gap between
the supply and demand of organ donations . The Center for Bioethics (2004) gave supplementary
details on the issue of organ shortage. In their article ethics of organ transplantation they said that
United Network for Organ Sharing or UNOS keeps a comprehensive figure on the present status of
people who need organ transplants and presently there more than

Banning Firearms, And Taking Away From American People

Like todays time firearms have different grips and features. Firearms are still being made differently
today to please people who like different features. The different features are what make each firearm
so unique; also the different features can make the firearm shoot differently. For example, some
firearms may have a kick to them while some may not. Also some firearms can shoot and hit a target
that is further away than others.
Since the beginning of time for firearms they have been used in ways that they should not be. People
try to blame firearms for actions or tragedy s that take place in the world. Firearms are not to blame
for actions that take; whoever is pulling the trigger to the firearm is to blame for the action that has
taken place. America needs to take time to really reflect on the way a firearm can save a life just as
quick as it could take a life. It would be great if there were a rule that anyone who owned a firearm
would have to take a firearm safety course. Firearm safety is not practiced enough in America and
many are unaware of how quick an accident could take place. There are times when things happen that
shouldn t because of careless mistakes with firearms. One example while carrying a firearm in any
circumstance would be firearms should be unloaded when not in use (firearm). The reasoning behind
this is to simply keep everyone including yourself safe while carrying a firearm.

this because the boys who would grow up to be strong men, must lay the foundation in a vigorous

In May of 1896, Hiram decided to take Jim and Charlie hunting. They made plans for the trip and both

Character Analysis Of Night By Elie Wiesel
1. Many scenarios and events take place that foreshadow the dangers that are coming to the people of
Sighet, such as the deportation of foreign Jews from Sighet, the Fascist party seizing power, (resulting
in a new government) Eliezer s close friend, Moshe the Beadle, escapes bringing his information and
warnings, news about growing tension and Anti Semitic acts in Budapest, and even more so the fact
Germans arrived and the Jerdict had been sent out foreshadows grave danger. I believe that the people
of Sighet, including Eliezer s family, ignore and overlook these things because they constantly
reassure themselves that they are safe by saying we even thought ourselves rather well off; we were
entirely self contained. Although things are grim, the Jews of Sighet hold on to false hope that they
will be saved soon, And in doing so, they conjure up excuses to the warnings of people like Moshe
and tell one another that he has gone mad. They refuse to open their eyes to see what is down the road
to better prepare themselves. 2. Madame Schächter is a character used by Wiesel to foreshadow future
events, and she is used to visually demonstrate the extent of how an experience can make an
individual emotionally and mentally terrified. This also produces an anger in the victims on board who
try to silence her voice showing that they develop a level of power in the life where they lack it
causing them to tie her up, gag, and beat her. In this way, the inclusion of her character

Essay on Shakespeare s Macbeth and Kurosawa s Throne of Blood
Throne of Blood, the 1957 filmed translation of Macbeth by William Shakespeare, was made in Japan,
written in Japanese by Shinobu Hashimoto, Ryuzo Kikushima, Akira Kurosowa and Hideo Oguni and
directed by Akira Kurosawa. It has many times been called an adaptation of Macbeth, however it is
not. As storytellers have done since time began, Kurosawa took a story and made it his own:
translating a play text into another medium; a separate setting; a differing culture in a completely
different style and for a completely contrasting audience.
The film wasn t even intended to be an adaptation of Macbeth. When composing Throne of Blood, the
writing team involved did not even consult Shakespeare s script, as Stuart Galbraith details in ... Show

Shakespeare wrote Macbeth for James I of England, a Scottish King, who was an ancestor of Banquo.
Kurosawa wrote for a contemporary audience of 1950 s Japan, setting his story in a culture that was
known to them, as Shakespeare had done. Similar to the kabuki historical drama or jidai mono, Throne
of Blood bases its story around the warriors and noblemen of the feudal Japan, a worthy equivalent to
Shakespeare s Scottish soldiers and aristocracy of the early middle ages.
In Akira Kurosawa and Intertextual Cinema, James Goodwin says that Kurosawa `demonstrates a
preference for eras of disruption in samurai culture, of massive social upheaval, or of civil war. For
Throne of Blood he had in mind the Sengoko period of civil wars (1467 1568) when there were
frequent incidents of gekokujo, the overthrow of a superior by his own retainers. Kurosawa uses his
setting in a similar way to that of Shakespeare, who uses various examples of imagery concerning the
idea of imbalance: of order and disorder. In Act Two, Scene Four of Macbeth he uses many hints to
tell his audience how chaotic things have become for his characters.

Nigerian Creation Myth
There is a huge debate about how the world was created and who was first. It can also be questioned if
god created mankind or if mankind created god. There are many different beliefs to how mankind was
created but they are all connected in some way. It can be said that god came first because there needed
to be one person that then realized more people were needed on Earth as mentioned in the creation
myths for Venezuela, Bolivia, and Nigeria. These all talk about different ways that god decided how
mankind should be created. The creation myth for Venezuela starts off with the creator of Earth and
Sky, Wanadi. He then decided that he could not rule the Earth and the Sky so he made a copy of
himself to rule the Earth. When Wanadi II was on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He created these people and gave them traits that have now become societal norms. Women are the
ones who have children and have long hair. Men were the head of the household and had short hair. In
addition, he made people different by creating a variety of ethnicities and languages. Not everyone
was like him because they all have different traits that make them unique. This shows that there had to
be a god first that would be able to create all the different people in the world.
The Nigeria creation myth talks about how Obatala created land on the ground and also created people
because he got bored by himself. As he created the people out of clay, he got drunk and caused the
people to have deformities. But, he took ownership of his mistakes and now protects the people that
have deformities.
Since Obatala made a mistake that affected a lot of people it shows that a god had to have created
mankind because he is the reasoning behind people s deformities. The Yoruba people have the belief
that he protects anyone that has a deformity. Without the mistake of the god, the people on earth
would not have deformities. This is connected to the modern world because not everyone looks the
same and some people are born with deformities. People with deformities turn out to be strong and
other people do not question why some people have these deformities. The Yoruba people do not all
look the same therefore, god had to have come first so there could be differences in

The Security Of Wireless Networks Essay
Since the inception of IEEE 802.11i in 2004, users and IT administrators have been able to improve
the security of their wireless networks by taking advantage of protocols like CCMP, an algorithm
designed to provide both authentication and encryption. With CCMP, wireless networks can be
secured with 128 bit AES encryption, provided by the Counter Mode component of CCMP. The CBC
MAC mode component provides the authentication mechanism. Although the security provided by
802.11i is a significant improvement to 802.11 networks, the security only applies to the data frames
and does not provide any security over the management frames. In an 802.11 network, the data frame
is what carries the protocols and data from higher layers. For example, a data frame might contain a
JPEG image or JavaScript from a web page that the user is browsing. Whereas, 802.11 management
frames allow the WiFi stations to establish and maintain communications. For example, the
management frames might carry configuration information about the type of wireless device that s in
use on the network, as well as its configurations. Since management frames are unencrypted and can
reveal critical pieces of information to a hacker, such as details about the types of wireless devices on
the network as well as its configurations, it s important to be aware of the different types of wireless
attacks that a hacker can carry out against your wireless network. Although it is not heavily used in

Adversity In The Glass Castle
In the past 100 years, America has gone through two world wars, a great depression, and a fluctuating
economy all of which have made us stronger as a nation. Though adversity is a hard thing to over
come, it helps our society grow. Would America be the same if we had never gone through the Great
Depression? Of course not. There are however, other bouts of adversity that even children can relate
to. One may have abusive or alcoholic parents, or even experience death at a young age. I can strongly
agree with Horace in that adversity elicits talents, which would have lain dormant in prosperous
circumstances. Adversity, summed up, is the long term hardships and misfortune that guide us into

Nations occurred right after the war. This is critically important to the world today because now
everyone is at peace. Another result of the war was women now started entering the work force, and
many gender roles disappeared because women were forced to do men s work while their spouses
were at war. This is extremely beneficial to American women today, mainly because women would be
treated differently. Although World War II was a very adverse time for everyone, it made America

Summarize Emerson Transcendentalism
Discussion Questions Self Reliance Directions: Read (and annotate) the essay carefully. You may want
to read it more than once. Then, answer each of the following questions fully and thoughtfully. Your
responses must be typed (they may be typed directly into this document). 1. Discuss the meaning of
the verse preceding the essay. The verse talks about how man is his own, he is in charge of his own
life and fate. I think this means to be self reliant, to be yourself, be your own individual and be
confident about it. Our lives can still be affected by the past like a shadow behind us but we cannot let
it take control. 2. Looking at the entire essay, what does Emerson mean by self reliance? Objectively
summarize Emerson s major points. Emerson ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Be confident about yourself and your thoughts, not conforming to others and embrace nature.
Transcendentalism is a journey for truth and reality. It creates new ideas and an understanding of life.
8. Society everywhere is in conspiracy against the manhood of every one of its members. Interpret. I
think this quote means that society is going to destroy our manhood or how we think or what we do.
Society forces us to conform and the manhood is the ability to think for ourselves. Everyone should be
be self reliant and listen to themselves, not what society wants them to hear. People should not be
pulled into letting others create rules or letting them think for them. Everyone should have their own
thoughts and ideas even if it makes you different. 9. The virtue in most request is conformity. Self
reliance is its aversion. Explain. I think this means self reliance is what we all strive for but society
strives for conformity. Self reliance is the complete opposite of conformity. Society wants everything
the same and nothing new but people want different things that society wants. 10. Interpret the
metaphor, A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored

Definition Essay On Equality
Equality the state or quality of being equal; correspondence in quantity, degree, value, rank, or ability.
Equality is more than a 15 word definition. Equality is knowing someone is different but treating them
the same, equality is knowing someone has muscular dystrophy and treating them like you would any
other person, equality is when you introduce yourself you state the pronouns you go by like he, she, or
they, equality is not assuming that because of someone s gender they like the opposite gender, equality
is seeing a girl s short haircut and not assuming they are a lesbian or transgender. Equality is not 15
words. Equality can be an infinite amount of words if we step out of our comfort zone just a little bit
to experience some of what could be a mass utopia.
Many people do not support some forms of equality because they were grown up into the beliefs their
parents have taught them. So basically This is the truth, don t let anyone tell you different . That s just
how it was and you were like Okay mommy I love you bye . But what if for ... Show more content on

This was a large step in America. The White House lit up with the gay pride flag and everyone was
getting married. It was amazing. But, in controversial times like that, it shows you who people really
are. There were many reports telling how people refused to marry same sex couples because it went
against their beliefs and religions as a person. I understand that you were grown up to the belief that
man shall not lie with another man or maybe that is just what you think. I get it. But truly they are not
abominations; they are people just like you and me. If you accidently cut yourself, you bleed. If you
fall, you bleed. If someone who is gay accidentally cuts themself, they bleed. If someone who is gay
falls, they bleed. There is blood running through their veins the same as there is blood running through
yours we are not different. But we should be

American Culture In The Namesake, By Jhumpa Lahiri
Culture is not just about race, family background, and inheritance. It is bigger than that. Characters
and actor s choice are significant to present this. Characters used in the book and movie relates. When
I was reading the book, I had an idea of how Ashima, Gogol, Ashoke looks. Most of those ideas were
true. I thought Gogol would be better looking and darker shade skin. Ashima is exactly what I thought
she would look like. Ashoke is shown as this perfect husband, dad a provider. A lot of Gogol s
character is understood as it foreshadows when Gogol was six months old and during his Rice
Ceremony, Gogol had to choose between a dollar, a pen, and dirt. Each represents a different
profession in the future. As it suggests to the future, Gogol doesn t choose none of them and cries. We
see the same thing when he is an adult, he chooses to embrace the culture he grew up in, American
Culture even thought he struggled to respect both cultures that are polar opposites of each other.
The novel The Namesake written by Jhumpa Lahiri writes about the struggle and hardships of a
Bengali couple who immigrate to the US from India to create a lifestyle outside of everything they
have known all their lives. The story begins as Ashoke marries Ashima and brings her to the
Massachusetts. Their first child s name is Gogol, which they didn t intend on naming initially but
because of different mistakes, Gogol has officially become his name. This book/film gave a pleasant
insight into identity

Merit Pay, History Repeated
The Human Resource Manager and Pay for Performance: Knowing First Cindy Pilch EDAD 5600
University of Wyoming This paper will examine the history of pay for performance in education, the
research on incentives and the pros and cons of using incentives. It will also explain how the
accountability movement in education has resulted in increased pressure on HR personnel to
incentivize teachers. Over the last two centuries research shows varying degrees of initiation of merit
pay. The 21st century has the pendulum swaying back toward the idea of finding a way to incent
teachers for student achievement. Gratz ( 2005) discusses merit pay and performance pay being used
synonymously and over a long period of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They also looked at traditional public schools, charter, private and nonreligious regular schools to
identify if the use of a traditional salary schedule was prevalent. Over 90% of traditional schools use
some form of schedule versus charter 62.2%, private 65.9%, and nonreligious regular schools 45.1%.
Summarizing Podursky et. al. (2007), it was concluded from the data ranging from 1999 2000 that
private and charter schools had a significantly higher use of performance pay bonuses. It is clarified
that because these studies were short lived the overall determinations of effectiveness lie within
motivation and not in sorting of teachers effectiveness. Podursky et. al. (2007) discussed the
comparison of teacher performance on evaluations conducted by the principal to student achievement.
It was concluded, Research literature to date and particularly the recent work by Jacobs and Lefgren
show that subjective evaluations of teacher performance are valid measures of teacher effectiveness as
measured by student achievement gains. (p. 562). Principal evaluations reflecting low stakes were
used to acquire these results. The question still remains if these types of evaluations will continue to
be of value in a merit based system. Also would a principal who would normally give a teacher a
lower performance score, under regular circumstances non high stakes evaluations, do the same if it
were

Jack Russel Terrier Research Paper
The Jack Russell Terrier, or also known as the Parson Russell Terrier, are
more than just your everyday pet, they re more like a Jack in a box. These exuberant
little creatures are sought after and used for many different purposes. They date
back to as early as the 1800 s and were bred specifically for one purpose: that is
hunting fox and other small varmints. Don t let their hunting lineage fool you; they
are capable of far more than chasing a fox down a hole. Jack Russell Terriers are
among one of the most commonly used dogs in film and entertainment. Jack

It is important that a Jack Russell is
exercised daily, due to the amount of energy they contain. According to the article,
The Jack Russell Terrier Personality: Small Dog, Big Attitude, author Amy Brannan
states, like most intelligent dog breeds that were intended as working dogs, Jack
Russell s must be stimulated every single day and offered an appropriate level of
exercise to allow the dog an outlet for its energy (par. 7). Some may look at their
high energy levels as a bad trait, but it doesn t have to be. They are great for an
active individual seeking a dog that can keep up and constantly be on the move. This
holds especially true for any active person who loves to spend a great deal of time
outdoors; seeing the Jack Russell s main objective Is to hunt. If you re the type of
person who likes to be entertained, Jack Russell s are known for doing some very
quirky things. Such things include, running circles around your house at the speed of
light, adamantly watching what s on the television, licking you and everything in site
for no apparent reason, as well as being extremely curious and constantly in

Lsi Life Styles Inventory Paper
GM 591 Yvonne Hobbs
LSI Paper
The life styles inventory is a survey of questions that help us to gain an insight into our own
personality and what type of behaviors we exert to others as individuals. It helps us to look at the
positive and negative qualities of our personalities and ways to improve upon them. A look at my LSI
styles complex radiates that my primary thinking style is linked to the avoidance category. The
avoidance scale states that I tend to use the strategy of withdrawal by hiding my feelings and being
shy to express myself. It also states that as things become more threatening to me the more I tend to
avoid those situations. These thinking styles are linked to feelings of denying responsibility for my

There are times where I feel the need to dominate and lead the way such as when working with my
dad in his apartment management company. I observe him overruling his tenants and exerting his
power to put people in their place and follow the complex rules and regulations, and have somehow
manifested those qualities into myself, like in example, if I am at work and he is not there then I do
find myself to be quite dominating and exerting my power to get tenants to do what there suppose to
do or pay their rent. I also find myself being dominating to people I know are weaker than me or just
shy and not outspoken about their feelings. The other style that I was tied with is the conventional
scale which measures my tendency to act in a conforming way. These tendencies are characterized by
perceiving rules as a source of comfort and security. There is also a preference for staying unseen and
unnoticed and a tendency to cover up my mistakes. There is also preoccupation with appearing to be
average and just like everyone else. Additionally there is a reduction in originality which is very true
for my behavior. These characteristics are also a bit contrary to my power and authoritarian style but
somehow I find myself being shy as well as authoritarian in certain situations. I would have to say
however that the conventional characteristic is one that I might have to disagree with because

  • 2. Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) The typical description of a disease would be something that causes unwanted effects on the body; however, mental illnesses show few physical symptoms and cause problems that outsiders can rarely see. Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), to be specific, is a complex disorder that occurs when a person has five of the following symptoms: a depressed mood, diminished pleasure, weight loss or gain, insomnia, lethargy, problems with concentrating, fatigue, feeling worthless, or having thoughts of suicide (Myers 3). While MDD is chronic, depression is the infrequent counterpart. The official etiology of depression is important because it is widespread and is becoming increasingly more common. Knowing why an illness occurs, in theory, can help physicians ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Genetic predisposition is an important part of the formation of mental illnesses. Mental illnesses and depression often onset early in life due to the amount of stress and genetic predisposition. Specifically, the SERT gene regulates serotonin in the body (Parks 30). Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that affects mood, behavior, and memory. A neurotransmitter helps to relay messages to other areas of the body through neurons, nerve cells, that are placed throughout the body. A neurotransmitter either inhibits or excites messages through the body, such as pain or other feelings. The brain produces serotonin, which is then spread throughout the body via the blood vessels. According to David Myers, the formula for depression is a traumatic or important life stressor plus a variation on a serotonin controlling gene (Myers 10). When serotonin production is imbalanced, sleep problems and irritability have a high chance of occurring, which are linked to the onset of depression. Low serotonin levels trigger depression after a traumatic event occurs (Parks 30). When the SERT gene is mutated, the risk for depression increases. Variations in neurotransmitters and the genes that produce them, especially serotonin and the SERT gene, lead to the development of depression when serotonin production is imbalanced or ... • 3. Misogynistic Greek Culture Moreover, the misogynistic Greek culture exemplified significant inferiority complexes towards the ties between women and nature. Women within Greek culture were significantly looked down upon. Their purpose was to serve as child bearers and even then that power is taken away from them in certain points of Greek mythology. For instance, when Zeus is trying to protect his son from Hera, he sows him into his leg and then essentially gives birth to him in four years time. In many cases it is shown how threatened the Greek men are by females; to the point that they either blame them for their misfortunes by portraying them as the mistake or fail to deliberate on the female goddesses, as it is in the case of Pandora and Athena. Then the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It also shows how they blame women yet again for their misfortunes, similarly to the Greeks with their first human woman, Pandora. In the Japanese creation myth the first primal woman, Izanami, is blamed for having a deformed child since she was the one who spoke first after the marriage ceremony. However, when the marital ritual is performed again and the man, Izanagi, speaks first afterwards everything is fine and Izanami was able to have healthy children. This scapegoat of a reason is to blame women for a deformed child because she spoke first is preposterous and speaks volumes at the obvious gender inequalities between Japanese men and women. Then its presence becomes known again when Izanagi goes to retrieve his wife from the underworld and when he sees that his beautiful wife is a rotting corpse, he runs away and leaves her. This reiterates a particular notion that a woman without beauty completely loses her value. Once a woman is no longer of sexual benefit to a man, she becomes a putrid stain upon the world and in mythology is portrayed as such in villainous ways. For instance, when Izanami sees her lover leave her, she becomes enraged and sends evil hags to pursue him and Izanami herself transforms into a full fledged demon . (Japan 114). Yet again, the Japanese creation myth expresses a deep schism between how a man can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Shen Congwen writes about revolution through a series of lenses that is quite different from that of Lu Xun. Where Lu Xun takes a more rational stance on how things should progress in China through revolution, Shen Congwen wants the reader to see the beauty in revolution and life as a Chinese citizen. This novel is a flashback to the year 1943, when Gene is attending Devon School during his senior year and the summer before it. This is a difficult task for an immature child; however, through Gene s ability to train for the inexistent Olympics, shows that he is growing up. He looks at his training as if he were preparing for the war. Accepting that he must go to war is also another sign of maturity brought on by the training for the Olympics with Finny. Through his preparation for the Olympics, Gene s coming of age becomes more and more evident. Finny s death causes the greatest maturity growth in Gene s character. After Finny dies, he realized how his own hatred caused the death of his best friend. He came to understand Finny s innocence and purity which causes Gene to see flaws within himself and forces him to grow up (Alton 1). Being able to admit your own flaws is critical in maturing. When Gene finally sees his impact of immature behavior, he realizes how much he needs to mature. Even though Finny is physically gone, his spirit remains with Gene and essentially makes him the adult that he grows up to be. Finny s death is a crucial part of Gene s coming of age. • 22. The Declaration Of The Rights Of Man And Citizen By... We live in a world that is based around freedom and rights. As citizens, we expect to have a say in how we live everyday life, whether it involves employment, owning a house, or who we elect as president of the United States. Either way, our world is based around our natural rights. After the Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen was written, this caused a wave of revolution. This Declaration had an impact on populations such as Haiti, but also had a major impact on countless other slave populations. For the basis of slavery, we read through Abina and the Important men and saw how different characters in the story defined the term slavery. Another view came from a former slave Frederick Douglas who was a leading abolitionist. For ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even though there were a large number of African Americans on the plantation, the whites still owned them, being merchants, slave masters, etc. This land was a major target for sugar, everybody wanted this land. Following the revolution, the meaning of rights was different for the whites and blacks. As Strayer quotes on page 793 in the textbook, To the slaves, the promise of the French Revolution was a personal freedom that challenged the entire slave labor system. Slaves burned 1,000 plantations and killed hundreds of whites. As a part of the African American race, there was a former slave who led the blacks to a victory over the French rule. This former slaves name was Toussaint Louverture. Following the revolt, many British people realized that slavery was going against human rights. The Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen outlined the rights that humans were supposed to be given. Some of these rights included natural rights, political and civic rights , according to (Strayer, 812). So as a result of the revolt and abolition, people were now agreeing that slavery violated the African American human rights. In the story of Abina and the Important Men, we take a look at a West African woman who was enslaved and had brought her case to court with the Important Men. A majority of this story takes place in the court room, where Abina brings her former master to court. The beginning of this story takes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Regency era represented a time when the current ruler, mad King George III, was incapable of performing his royal duties. Due to his madness, the King s son the Prince of Wales, a Regent and heir to the throne, was appointed to govern. The Prince of Wales was designated Regent in 1811 (Channel4). Despite the popularity of boxing, cockfighting was still considered to be the period s most widespread sport. Cockfighting ranged across all social classes. The cockpits were a common place where all social classes gathered to place bets and watch the match. Although even the smallest town had a cockpit, Regency gentlemen were known to hold contests at their own estate. This pastime was a common practice and even influenced furniture makers to offer cockfighting chairs (GI). Unlike bare knuckle bouts between people, cocks were precisely paired by weight in all the more heavily staked cockfights. Human training was elementary when compared to the training of gamecock. The cocks often had bone or metal spurs strapped over the birds beak to insure a fight to the death. Cockfighting began to diminish in England only after The Royal Society for Cruelty to Animals began to bring actions in the late 1830s, based on an 1835 Act against animal cruelty (GI). With boxing and cockfighting s growing interest, both created an obsession with gambling. Gambling amongst the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is important to provide a basis for a better understanding of how UML works in logistical processes. Therefore a short outline of the history and the development of UML will be presented with a subsequent explanation of what UML is and what types of diagrams exist. 2.1 Development of UML The origin of UML is software development. But in the 90 s, a large number of different approaches, several books on object oriented software modeling and a lot of graphical notations existed. The most prominent representatives of object oriented notations are Booch from Grady Booch, Objectory from Ivar Jacobson and Object Modeling Technique (OMT) from James Rumbaugh. The initiators of UML gradually recognized the significance of a unified method for software engineering. In 1995 Grady Booch and Jim Rumbaugh combined their both methods Booch and OMT and announced Unified Method 0.8 (UM 0.8) at the conference OOPSLA in Austin, Texas. Not only was this unearthed sexuality something to celebrate, but it was also an indicator of hidden tragedies taking place around the world. The accomplishments of the Vagina Monologues can be attributed to the creation of V Day in 1998. As a result of Ensler s production spreading across the United States through small, intimate venues, stories of women who had been victims of rape, incest, domestic battery, and genital mutilation, began to surface. Ensler noticed this trend, and decided to start a movement to end the violence. The plan was simple: claim each Valentine s Day, February 14, as V Day until the violence ends. Once the violence ends, V Day will become Victory Over Violence Day. That goal may not have been reached at this point, but Ensler s efforts have certainly created a worldwide movement that continues to grow (2005, vday.org). Today, Ensler s Vagina Monologues have opened the door to a new level of humanity: love and compassion for the female gender. The scarcity of organ donations in America is the main reason there is a sudden diversion of possible source of organs. Beginning with donations of organs from cadaver to living donors, different strategies sprung just to reduce the said shortage; as a result of this quest, sale and paid organs is one of the approaches that gathered too much attention from the public. The controversy of paid organ donations entered the limelight when the state of Wisconsin offered incentives to the living donors. Moreover, it also violates human dignity because it treats the organs and human body parts as commodities. Not to mention the fact that such action weakens and demoted altruism. However, the real picture of compensated organ donations is actually the opposite of unethical and self interest ; it promotes life and therefore regarded as a good and moral deed. Organ Donation s Supply and Demand Knowing the rate of supply and demand of organ donation helps in establishing a clear background about the issue. For instance, Monti (2009) explained the reality of supply and demand of kidneys. The supply of this organ coming from deceased and altruistic donors are not enough to support the demand of those individuals who are in need. Approximately there are 73,000 people who wait for kidney donations and 18 of those who are in the wait list will die by tomorrow. Accordingly, the list is being added by 6,000 individuals every year. An individual has to wait for five years before he/she can get an organ donation. The facts and figures presented by Monti shows that there is a big gap between the supply and demand of organ donations . The Center for Bioethics (2004) gave supplementary details on the issue of organ shortage. In their article ethics of organ transplantation they said that United Network for Organ Sharing or UNOS keeps a comprehensive figure on the present status of people who need organ transplants and presently there more than ... Many scenarios and events take place that foreshadow the dangers that are coming to the people of Sighet, such as the deportation of foreign Jews from Sighet, the Fascist party seizing power, (resulting in a new government) Eliezer s close friend, Moshe the Beadle, escapes bringing his information and warnings, news about growing tension and Anti Semitic acts in Budapest, and even more so the fact Germans arrived and the Jerdict had been sent out foreshadows grave danger. I believe that the people of Sighet, including Eliezer s family, ignore and overlook these things because they constantly reassure themselves that they are safe by saying we even thought ourselves rather well off; we were entirely self contained. Although things are grim, the Jews of Sighet hold on to false hope that they will be saved soon, And in doing so, they conjure up excuses to the warnings of people like Moshe and tell one another that he has gone mad. They refuse to open their eyes to see what is down the road to better prepare themselves. 2. It has many times been called an adaptation of Macbeth, however it is not. As storytellers have done since time began, Kurosawa took a story and made it his own: translating a play text into another medium; a separate setting; a differing culture in a completely different style and for a completely contrasting audience. The film wasn t even intended to be an adaptation of Macbeth. When composing Throne of Blood, the writing team involved did not even consult Shakespeare s script, as Stuart Galbraith details in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Shakespeare wrote Macbeth for James I of England, a Scottish King, who was an ancestor of Banquo. Kurosawa wrote for a contemporary audience of 1950 s Japan, setting his story in a culture that was known to them, as Shakespeare had done. Similar to the kabuki historical drama or jidai mono, Throne of Blood bases its story around the warriors and noblemen of the feudal Japan, a worthy equivalent to Shakespeare s Scottish soldiers and aristocracy of the early middle ages. In Akira Kurosawa and Intertextual Cinema, James Goodwin says that Kurosawa `demonstrates a preference for eras of disruption in samurai culture, of massive social upheaval, or of civil war. For Throne of Blood he had in mind the Sengoko period of civil wars (1467 1568) when there were frequent incidents of gekokujo, the overthrow of a superior by his own retainers. Kurosawa uses his setting in a similar way to that of Shakespeare, who uses various examples of imagery concerning the idea of imbalance: of order and disorder. In Act Two, Scene Four of Macbeth he uses many hints to tell his audience how chaotic things have become for his characters. The Security Of Wireless Networks Essay Since the inception of IEEE 802.11i in 2004, users and IT administrators have been able to improve the security of their wireless networks by taking advantage of protocols like CCMP, an algorithm designed to provide both authentication and encryption. With CCMP, wireless networks can be secured with 128 bit AES encryption, provided by the Counter Mode component of CCMP. The CBC MAC mode component provides the authentication mechanism. Although the security provided by 802.11i is a significant improvement to 802.11 networks, the security only applies to the data frames and does not provide any security over the management frames. In an 802.11 network, the data frame is what carries the protocols and data from higher layers. For example, a data frame might contain a JPEG image or JavaScript from a web page that the user is browsing. Whereas, 802.11 management frames allow the WiFi stations to establish and maintain communications. However, if you don t know sadness, then how will you ever know true happiness? The answer is simple; you never will. A little less than 80 years ago, World War II began and eventually the whole world was at war. Americans experienced many hardships, such as having their loved ones at war, financial troubles, and taking care of their families by themselves. Surprisingly, good outcomes could possibly develop as a result of over 60 million people dead. For one, the creation of the United Nations occurred right after the war. This is critically important to the world today because now everyone is at peace. Another result of the war was women now started entering the work force, and many gender roles disappeared because women were forced to do men s work while their spouses were at war. This is extremely beneficial to American women today, mainly because women would be treated differently. Characters and actor s choice are significant to present this. Characters used in the book and movie relates. When I was reading the book, I had an idea of how Ashima, Gogol, Ashoke looks. A lot of Gogol s character is understood as it foreshadows when Gogol was six months old and during his Rice Ceremony, Gogol had to choose between a dollar, a pen, and dirt. Each represents a different profession in the future. As it suggests to the future, Gogol doesn t choose none of them and cries. I observe him overruling his tenants and exerting his power to put people in their place and follow the complex rules and regulations, and have somehow manifested those qualities into myself, like in example, if I am at work and he is not there then I do find myself to be quite dominating and exerting my power to get tenants to do what there suppose to do or pay their rent. I also find myself being dominating to people I know are weaker than me or just shy and not outspoken about their feelings. The other style that I was tied with is the conventional scale which measures my tendency to act in a conforming way. These tendencies are characterized by perceiving rules as a source of comfort and security. There is also a preference for staying unseen and unnoticed and a tendency to cover up my mistakes. There is also preoccupation with appearing to be average and just like everyone else. Additionally there is a reduction in originality which is very true for my behavior.
