Solomon Plagiarism Analysis
A college student submits a plagiarized essay. The professor contacts the student to inform them that
the plagiarism has been identified, and that the offense will be reported to the college. The student
explains that they have been working 2 jobs because their spouse is unemployed, and that because
there is a previous offense this may result in the student being placed on academic probation. The
student asks for the professor to not follow the course policy of reporting offenses of plagiarism.

Ethic of justice is defined as fairness and equality, verifiable and reliable decision making based on
universal rules and principles, autonomy, objectivity and impartibly, positivistic rationally. Ethic of

Horse Training Methods
There is a wide range of equipment used in the training process of horses. The training methods and
equipment used vary. The halter is a very common training tool and one of the oldest methods to
control a training of horses. Choosing the right kind is essential for successful horse training.
However, the use of bits or any other equipment for that matter in unskilled hands could lead to
cruelty against the horses. To reward the horses for good behaviour and make the sessions enjoyable
the trainers use treats. Training at EL Shaddai for their show horses occur twice a day for 30 minutes

Dr. Seuss Stereotypes
Now, you all know Dr Seuss. Who doesn t, right? He s a legend! Green Eggs and Ham, Cat in the Hat,
One Fish Two Fish... there can t be a single person under the age of 60 that doesn t know about him,
right? Such a great guy, really, a lovely dude. Except when it comes to the case of racism, especially
towards the Japanese during World War 2. We all know that people from different countries look
different, and we all know that it s not politically correct or socially acceptable in any way to call
people out on these differences. But Dr Seuss used his cartoons to do exactly this, portraying the
Japanese as inhumane, un relatable, animalistic creatures. And it s these kind of generalisations that
still exist to cause stereotypes today. Take

The No Chiuld Left Behind Act Essay
Change is inevitable. When the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) initiative finally became defunct, a
new accountability system emerged. In San Francisco Unified School District, central administrative
teams began a transition phase starting as early as four to five years ago when Common Core State
Standards were introduced to low performing schools. As the Instructional Reform Facilitator during
that time, it was exciting because new and more robust learning/content standards also required a
change in our approach to instruction and assessment. This was the lever in my mind that this could
help close the achievement gap. However this new initiative also brings uncertainty and apprehension
for many teachers. When I began my first year as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My theory of action was if I help teachers build instructional capacity by developing and improving
their backwards planning or curriculum mapping (identifying essential standards) and enhance their
data analysis approach, will they make a shift from following a script to making effective instructional
decisions based on the specific needs of students. My strategic actions were to plan and design
professional development opportunities that would enhance the teachers instructional practices and
differentiate my support for them through professional learning communities, informal walkthroughs,
and formal evaluation processes. During one of our professional development days in the week before
school started, we spent an entire day reviewing the curriculum mapping process and began
identifying the most essential standards and learning outcomes for students. One subtle indicator was
that only two teachers demonstrated understanding about the importance of using assessment results to
plan their first two weeks of lessons. One suggested that they would begin with a writing prompt to
determine where students were in their narrative writing, and the other expressed the urgency to
administer the reading assessment so that she could put her students in reading groups. Eighty percent

Midsummer Night s Dream Contrast
A Midsummer nights Dream is known as one of Shakespeare s most popular and most performed
plays worldwide. Although there are many versions of the play, they tend to stay true to the original
characters, setting, and them. However in Michael Hoffman s 1999 film version of A Midsummer
Night s Dream, he breaks the traditional rules by first changing the setting. Hoffman sends the
comedic action from ancient Athens to an imaginary Italian village named Monte Athena during the
nineteenth century. In this portrayal of the play, Duke Theseus is nothing but a tired and seemingly
unimportant bureaucrat, rather than a victorious hero as shown in the play. On the same note,
Hippolyta, Theseus s bride to be, previously referred to as the Queen of the ... Show more content on

In particular this relates to Puck, who has been transformed from a mischievous fairy to a middle aged
lounge lizard. Puck is the closest thing to a protagonist in the play because he is responsible for many
of the complications that occur between the four lovers. Similarly, Titania loses much of her previous
complexity throughout the film. The play emphasizes the strong bonds of an ancient female friendship
that keep Titania from abandoning the Indian boy because she wants to care for a deceased friend s
son. Hermia and Helena s lives are also marked by strong friendships although Demetrius who is in
love with Hermia is also who Helena has fallen in love with. Hoffman does stay true to the ideal of
female friendship shown in the play, which is one of the reasons, why relationship between Hermia,
Helena, Hippoltya, and Titinia is understandable.
Although, Hoffman didn t change everything when he converted the play to a film, he did change
most of the major concepts. It is not certain why he changed much of the play, but one explanation
that fits is because he wanted to modernize it. A Midsummer Night s Dream was written in the 1590 s
and the film was produced in 1999. Hoffman most likely felt that change was necessary for modern
audiences to understand. However, the outcome of Hoffman s changes is that the comical

I. Consumer electronic products, telecom industry and globalization
The focus of this paper is to review the sourcing strategy of Apple, a technology company providing
consumer electronic product, and examine if it is a good fit for telecom industry to adopt the same
strategy.
Consumer electronic by definition is any device that contains an electronic circuit board and is
intended for everyday use by an individual to enhance the quality of life. These devices can be found
in communication, office and entertainment products. Some examples of consumer products are
television, personal computer, cell phone, refrigerator, washer and dryer. Traditionally, consumer

The advancement of technology has made distinguishing some consumer electronic products from
telecom equipment difficult. For example, cell phone and laptop are both categorized as consumer
electronic product by the definition of consumer electronic product. However, since cell phone is a
tool for communication, it also can be categorized as telecom product as per the definition of telecom
equipment. Similarly, laptop can be used to communicate via VoIP as well as exchange information
over a distance. By definition, laptop also fits well as a telecom product. Conversely, telecom
equipment such as modem and router can also qualify as consumer electronic products as they are
both everyday use devices to many individuals to enhance quality of life. For the purpose of this
paper, we will categorize cell phone and laptop as consumer electronic devices and keep router and
modem in the telecom equipment section.
As the internet and hand held device technologies continue to advance, the area of interconnect
between the telecom and consumer electronics industries have together reshape the consumer
behavior. People no longer have to rely solely on telephone or telefax to communication or exchange
information in distance. The texting feature on the cell phone, for example,

Martha Graham, Beethoven, And Jackie Robinson
About 108 billion people have been introduced to our beautifully diverse world. Few of these people
have the impact to change how others will see the world. One of the most powerful things in life is
true passion and when one lets their passion shine, it can change the world. I have been influenced by
many people in history, but three people in particular stand out to me, as people who inspired others
from a place of pure passion. Martha Graham, Beethoven, and Jackie Robinson are all figures in
history that have followed their passions and made a lasting impression on everyone who has come

Characteristics Of Paul Brown
Paul Brown is one of the most well known coaches ever. He is a hall of fame coach who led the
Cleveland Browns to dominance in the 1940s and 1950s. In high school, he coached a powerhouse
team that had very good success. He then went on to College and the NFL. After his career In
Cleveland, he went to the Cincinnati Bengals where he achieved some success and even had the
stadium named after him. Gladwell defines certain characteristics in the book Outliers that make
people successful and an outlier. Paul brown Exemplifies many of these ideas. Paul Brown was a
coach for many years. Brown was one of the best coaches ever and he did great things that weren t just
in football. His work ethic on playbooks and classroom techniques make him one of the most well
known coaches of all time (Barnes). Brown is an Outlier because he exemplifies 10,000 hours of
work/practice, he exemplifies the Mathew effect, and he had opportunity for meaningful work.
Paul Brown knew the game so well that he got inducted into the Hall of Fame, which proves he gave
his job all he had and became a well known outlier. Practice isn t the thing you do once you re good, It

Tips on Buying a Used Automobile Essay
Buying a used car can be a very stressful event. There are so many factors that can affect your
experience when buying a used car like, Will I have enough money to purchase the car that meets my
needs? Will the dealer be dishonest, pushy, or willing to negotiate? Lastly, will I be able to find a car
that has both quality and reliability? All of these things can cause a person to become stressed out;
sometimes to the point that a person will decide they no longer want to buy a vehicle or they may buy
a vehicle to fast and get something that they are unhappy with. If you do your research, that will help
to lessen your stress level by giving you a sense of confidence. Worrying about whether you will be

This makes the dealers want to sell you anything off of their lot, even if it s not worth the money.
Sometimes the dealers will amplify the truth to sell you a car. It s always best to step back and do your
own due diligence on the car you are interested in so that you know that you are getting a good deal. If
you find out that the dealer has ill liberated the truth to much that will cause you to get upset with the
dealer and make you wonder what else about the car they are not telling you. Going back and forth
about the price of the car can also be stressful because sometimes you come across dealers that are
unwilling to come down off the asking price of the car. If the car price is over the value of the car
book value it s going to be hard to get financing through the bank or could cost you to pay more
money than the car is worth. The quality and reliability of a car is very important. When purchasing a
used vehicle you should look into factors such as the mpg, the current mileage on the car, and the
visual look of the interior and exterior of the vehicle. These things will affect the quality and reliability
of the car. If you fail to do your due diligence in this area you may be faced with unwanted stress
shortly after purchasing the car. Getting good mpg these days will make a great difference at the
pump. The lower the mileage on the car means the less it has

Life In Trenches
What was life in the trenches like? This is a question you might ask yourself after learning more about
WW1 and its exploits. Soldiers did not have an easy life to live in the trenches and everyday just grew
harder. Trenches are basically long narrow ditches that were dug by soldiers for shelter from enemy
fire. Back in WW1, the trenches became a place where soldiers would live and sleep with poor living
conditions. The way the trenches in WW1 were set up was with the German trenches on one side and
all the Allied trenches on the other. Between the two enemy trenches would be no man s land which
didn t belong to either one of the armies. Some soldiers would climb out of the trenches and charge
across no man s land to attack the enemy. This tactic is known as going over the top .

This makes sense considering soldiers were living in basically tunnels with no toilets or other
necessities. Trenches were described as cold, muddy and smelly. If soldiers wanted to use the
bathroom they would have to dig holes and those toilets would sometimes overflow into the trenches.
Soldiers would also have to live in the trenches alongside multiple rats carrying diseases. Rat
infestation was a huge problem in the trenches as they would feed on the soldier s food and chew up
their clothing. They were two types of rats in the trenches, the black and brown rat. Both of these rats
were hated however, the brown rats were particularly feared. This was because brown rats were often
seen devouring human remains in a grotesque manner by eating their eyes and liver. Soldiers often
said that the rats could grow to be as big as a cat. They tried to get rid of these rats with methods such
as gunfire, dogs, using bayonets and battering them to death. But no matter how much they tried, the
rats would still come back and continue to wreck

Classification Of Horses Essay
The typical way to classify horses is by breed. The American Quarter horse is the most popular breed
in America, especially in Texas. They are the work horses on ranches, the most popular for showing
and competing in speed events such as barrel racing. Another popular breed is the Paint horse, which
to me is nothing me than an American Quarter horse that is not a solid color, usually they are brown or
black with white areas on their bodies. There is also the Arabian breed, they are known for their
endurance, which I am sure they get from their ancestors being used in the desserts of Arabia. Another
popular breed, for kids mostly, is the Ponies of America or POA. These horses are generally small

The third and hopefully final horse addition to our family was the POA. His name is appropriately,
Pony. Pony is 15 years old, this makes him middle aged in the horse world. Of course with age, comes
wisdom. In the horse world, with age usually comes dominance as well, Pony should be the leader of
the herd based on his age, but Storm, being our first, will not let that happen.
When all three are in the pasture, Storm is the protector of the herd, a small herd it may be, but it is
still his herd. When other horses get close to the fence, Storm will run at the fence, kick his feet up,
snort through his nose like a raging bull and stop right before hitting the fence; after all it is an electric
fence. Magic will get excited and run around acting similar but never getting between Storm and the
other horses, defending the herd is Storm s job and his right. If the other two try to intervene, he will
turn on them. Pony stands by, out of the way and watches the young ones act foolish. When there aren
t any other horses around, Storm will let the other two know he his in charge by chasing them and
pining back his ears, which is a sign of anger or alert for a horse. Magic lets him have his way and
tries to chase Pony, but Pony is older and will not let the

The Differences Of Buddhism And Buddhism
John Calvin once said, You must submit to supreme suffering in order to discover the completion of
joy . This report will discuss two specific faiths Buddhism and Hinduism, and their beliefs revolving
around must there be suffering. Suffering can be defined as the state of undergoing pain, distress or
hardship (Oxford Dictionaries, 2017). Buddhism is a religion that encompasses a variety of traditions
and beliefs largely based on original teachings learned from the Buddha and resulting interpreted
philosophies (ABC, 2014). Hinduism is one of the oldest known organized religions it s sacred
writings date as far back as 1400 to 1500 B.C (Got Questions, n.d.). Buddhist and Hinduist faith
earnestly supports the idea of suffering as it is engraved in their religious beliefs from the start and is
spoken about in their sacred texts. Following the idea of suffering they believe in life after death. Both
faiths believe that one specific goal is to reach a kind of freedom, for Hinduists, this is moksha and
Buddhists are nirvana both relating to the faith of a supreme self and a life in which there is no
suffering and all people have reached pure happiness. Buddhism and Hinduism see suffering as an
unavoidable fact of life as it is evident that to reach this state of self there must be suffering. Suffering
is believed to help people learn from mistakes, find themselves thus achieving supremacy and sense of
identity or life purpose. Adherents from both faiths believe in

Symptoms And Treatment Of Conjunctivitis
Introduction
Conjunctivitis is common acute disease that occurs for all ages, from children to adult. Conjunctivitis
results from inflammation and or infection to the conjunctiva (Buttaro, Trybulski, Bailey, Sandberg
Cook, 2013). The conjunctiva is the transparent mucosal tissue that lines the eye and inner surface of
the eyelid, (Buttaro, Trybulski, Bailey, Sandberg Cook, 2013, pp. 327). It is commonly known as pink
eye, but has several different disorders, which include: allergic, viral, bacterial, and chemical.
Normally the main cause for conjunctivitis is usually viral or bacterial. According to Azari and
Barney, acute conjunctivitis affects 6 million people annually in the United States, and the cost of
treating bacterial conjunctivitis alone is estimated to be $377 million to $857 million a year (2013).
This affects 70% of the population and is treated mostly in primary care and/or urgent care, however,
majority of the cases occur in the pediatric population. According to the American Optometric
Association, Main goal is to treat pinkeye properly or it can lead to vision loss, increase patient
comfort, reduce or lessen the course of the infection or inflammation, and prevent the spread of the
infection in contagious forms of conjunctivitis, (Conjunctivitis, 2016). The purpose of this paper is to
discuss the medical management and treatment of conjunctivitis in the general adult population.

Analysis of Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird, by...
Wallace Stevens is not an easy poet to understand. His work is purposely twisted and tangled so one is
forced to thing whether they want to or not. Stevens poetry ranges from real life situations to
situations which are simply a depiction of his imagination. One thing can be concluded though,
Stevens does not allow his work to have a single meaning. Why should he? This is the upmost quality
that makes his stand out from his competitors in the poetic industry. An interesting theme though
which Wallace truly enjoys writing about, in all seriousness, is something thought provoking
perception. The book definition of perception is appending [something] by the means of senses or the
mind . In his poem, Thirteen Ways of Looking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is where one can see the new role the blackbird is playing. A new perception of the bird. It is now
part of one s conscious. It does not have an on or off button that any human can control just like a
river...moving (Stevens 48). A new theme is suggested in this part which makes its way up to the top a
couple more times in the work. It is choices. It this specific case it is clear that the individuals the
speaker is referring to do not have a choice but to acknowledge the bird. In the fifth part on the other
hand, once again a new idea is presented and this is not the case. Here the bird becomes an objectified
beauty but this doesn t last long because as the sixth part approaches, the readers once again return to
the winter time filled with icicles (Stevens 17 19). A circular pattern can now be seen with the seasons.
Another hint of a continuous process occurring the process of perception.
In the seventh stanza the speaker calls up the thin men of Haddam (a city in Connecticut) and asks
about the golden birds (Stevens 25 26). He goes on to say that the Blackbird walks around the feet of
the women about [them] (Stevens 28 29). What could he possibly mean? Loazi, a philosophical
author, wrote in his book that one should Know the masculine, keep to the feminine. With that being

a rising concern for the Redwood Forest grew as nearby logging and other human activities started to

An Analysis Of So Much Water So Close At Home
In Carver s short story, So Much Water So Close to Home, three men go to Naches River for a fishing
trip and encounter a dead young woman in the river. Aware that the corpse is in the river, they
continue on with their fishing trip, not reporting it until they travel back home. Carver illustrates the
story through the eyes of Claire, the wife of the fisher. Carver depicts the differences in male and
female roles of a marriage and their psychological similarities, associated with why there was a need
to travel to further waters, when there is So Much Water So Close to Home. Ordinarily, man is the
provider and woman is the nurturer in a marriage. This is contrasted by the differences of Stuart and
Claire s roles as husband and wife. Man s role in a home is to be a gatherer of not only physical labors
but of answers. Claire is constantly seeking answers as to why her husband waited so long to report
the corpse, but he contains no answers for her as he says you re going to get me riled, (76) making her
findings of the truth qualities as the protector of the household. Their minds as husband and wife
functioned separately and in no way correlated to be a whole as Claire became more consumed by the
idea of the dead child. This consumption is relevant in the way Claire demands her husband to tell her
where their son by asking where is he? Where is Dean? (90) and how she has no trust over him
concerning their son because of the idea of the dead girl. This leads to her

The Outsiders Movie Analysis
A book composed into a movie is a delicate task. There are many components and scenes that are
considered before being embedded in a film. In The Outsiders, there was a devious amount of detail
neglected in the film. On the other hand, the book portrays the feelings and character relationships.
Scenes that had specific meaning were shattered, several portions of the film were exaggerated, and
the central message of the entire movie was mislaid. These fundamentals simply obscured the main
message and made the movie disorientated. Hair slicked back, leather jackets, and cigars hanging from
their lips. Greasers were extravagant boys who were known as troublemakers in gangs. The main
character Ponyboy is a greaser. Ponyboy s gang are always ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The ignorance within the movie impediments the message for the audience. Everyone in a movie
theater is excited and expecting the big commission. Then the rumble begins. The reader starts to
realize that nothing that is occurring in the film was in the book. This is a huge disappointment on
behalf of the reader opinion. During the rumble the movie director added rain and a fire pit to create
suspense. This made it distracting and burdensome to find the purpose of the rumble. The message
behind the rumble was of the two different groups fighting for their rights. It was a cascade of
emotions and urge to destroy the wall separating equality. Apart from the over exaggeration, the
director made Ponyboy seem like a weakling. When the main protagonist looks vulnerable that just
makes the movie seem preposterous. No main character should be made useless and vulnerable.
Especially if in the book the character was stunning during the battle. The lack of detail and attention
to the scene defeats the purpose of the book. If the film can not display the book properly then it
indeed is a misinterpretation.
Nonetheless, the director did not comprehend that an inaccuracy in the film can throw off the
audience. In the film several of the major characters were placed as minors. This mislead a the novel
reader since they know the director should had placed more attention to those characters. Sodapop and
Darry were

Washington Dc And How The Location Of Howard University
After I obtain my undergraduate degree in Neuroscience, I would like to go to medical school. I ve
always wanted to attend Howard College of Medicine. Primarily, because of the program they have
there and the fact that they focus on serving underserved communities. With that, I also really love the
location of the school. Howard University is located in the District of Columbia, our nation s capital. I
m going to discuss Washington DC and how the location of Howard University plays a role in the
school s significance. Washington DC is located on the east coast of the United States, sandwiched
between two states, Maryland and Virginia. The city itself is only 68.3 square miles big. The elevation
is 0 ft. above sea level at its lowest point and 410 ft. above sea level at its highest point. This area is
located on the North American Plate. DC isn t often affected by earthquakes. The nearest fault line is
west of the city which runs through Virginia and Maryland. Most times when DC experience s
earthquakes it s because of that.
The District of Columbia is essentially located on the Potomac River. The Potomac River is a river
that s about 405 miles long and it flows into the Chesapeake Bay. Also the Anacostia River and the
Rock Creek river run through the city and both flow into the Potomac River. Washington DC also has
a few reservoirs of water; the Dalecarlia Reservoir, the Georgetown Reservoir and the McMillan
Reservoir. With the location of these bodies of water, DC shares

Separation Anxiety In Dog Psychology
By having this test done, we can use it for dog psychology as well to help understand how they react
and behave to certain situations. Dogs have evolved from wolves but their characteristics still have not
changed from wolves. The experiment depicted that dogs do not consist of an attachment bond with
their owner, but resulted in dogs illustrating their separation anxiety towards their owner. By having
this test, we were able to conclude from the random range of dogs that most dogs contain separation
anxiety. More tests will be needed to determine why and how separation anxiety comes to be and why
dogs mostly have it. Behavior was able to be seen through scratching and whining, but the why and
how separation anxiety occurs will be needed to proceed upon through more experiments and tests to
fully understand the mind and behavior of a dog. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

As a young person I was captivated and intrigued by the tales of early explorers and naturalists,

Completing The Triangle In The Odyssey
Jacques Lacan s graph illustrates three (Imaginary, Real, Symbolic) registers that connect into a
triangle. Reality (Phallus) is pictured as in between the Imaginary and the Real. This effect creates an
idea of fantasy in the subject. From imaginary to symbolic, lies the representation of unconscious
truth. This reveals symbolic identifications throughout their history. Completing the triangle, is
Symbolic to Real. Between these two is semblance (le Objet petit a), acting as the object of desire.
The middle of the triangle, (Jouissance) is emerging from the Real, acting as the subjects symptom or

Racism, Violence, And Violence
Racism has been relevant in our country for several decades, and it is still one of the largest issues
within our country. With us watching and hearing about racism within the news almost everyday, it is
becoming something we just expect to see and hear about. Racism has ruined many people s lives,
which causes the victims to want to express their feelings in a way that gains the attention of others.
The main ways that racism is relevant within our everyday lives is within sports, music, news, and

I had a recurring role on Remedy, so I m not sure if that counts, but the episode of Remedy where my

will be influenced by a number of factors. Consumers today experience a wide variety of messages
(stimuli) from marketers across many different mediums. It is the consumers ability to decide whether
to accept or reject which messages resonate with them according to their own needs, wants and other

Chile And The Us Banking Industry
The present working paper is referred to the analysis of some financial benefits that banking
institutions would be receiving as Too Big to Fail (TBTF) banks. The request is whether those
institutions are constantly subsided from governments or it is merely a hypothetical idea. For those
purposes, it is analyzed the Chilean banking industry to disclose the implicit subsidy in the South
American country. In order to answer the posited questions, first it is cited some similarities between
Chile and the US banking industry, and then how it evolved to this point after several financial crises.
Secondly, it is examined potential implicit guaranties of Chile s TBTF banks. In that sense, it is
analyzed the concentration and interconnection in Chile. Then, it is analyzed those expected financial
benefits that flow to the TBTF banks. Specifically, two of the likely financial benefits. Primarily, the

especially in events of default, insolvency, and bankruptcy. Thirdly and lastly, it is stated some
remedies that I can propose to solve these issues, including the Subsidy Reserve Act, as adapted for
the Chilean banking industry, among others. As a result, policymakers, congressmen, local and
international organizations, and governments would be able to use this work for the financial and

this has changed me is that when you make new friends you begin to develop a kind of sense where

Analysis Of The Absurd
The Absurd
It is safe to say the idea of absurdism can be linked to meaningless, and other such words that express
a destination without the means to there and vice versa. In Camus famous fictional novel, he shows
how one s perception of life can be effected when faced with death. The Stranger reflects Camus
philosophical stance on absurdism. There is no truth, no certainty, or any unwavering, non relative
laws in life. There is no sense in pursuing impossibilities. But if life is in a sense pointless, why
continue living?
It seems as if Meursault does not want himself to be happy. This can be assumed from reading the
text. More specifically from chapter six of the Stranger on pages forty seven through fifty nine. He
could have had new job which would have paid substantially more in Paris, a loving girlfriend whom
wanted to marry him despite his flaws, and seemingly reliable and trustworthy friends. Meursault had
so many doors open for him filled with opportunities but he throws all his chances of happiness away
once he murders the Arab man on the beach.
Existence can be categorized as standing out or doing something that sets you aside from others and
the environment. Meursault s only desire was to be free from hope because hope meant that there was
a disconnection between who he should ve been and who he actually was. His only wish was to almost
blend into his environment or in other words become invisible to society so he didn t have to be who

Cuban Missile Crisis Essay
On October 22nd, 1962, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, 35th President of the United States of America,

nuclear missiles, capable of striking most of the major cities in the Western Hemisphere, ranging as far
north as Hudson Bay, Canada, and as far south as Lima, Peru (JFK library p. 3) were being installed in
Cuba by the Soviet Union. President Kennedy discussed the United States response, which included

They also learned that Cuban pilots were training in Czechoslovakia on the latest Soviet aircraft.
Then, in mid 1961, CIA sources discovered that Cuba was receiving state of the art Soviet bombers,
fighters and transport aircraft.
At this time, the dilemma for American policymakers was that most of the military equipment could
be described accurately as defensive, and therefore not a threat to United States security. However,
much of it could also be used offensively, and the main concern was whether or not the Soviets would
provide Cuba with missiles capable of attacking America. (Johnson, Hatch p. 2)
Throughout 1961, Soviet ships continued to supply Cuba secretly with military equipment and, then,
in 1962, the volume and secrecy of the deliveries increased. In late August, for example, The National
Security Agency reported 57 Soviet ships in a little over a month.
Confronted with American concerns about this military buildup, Soviet spokesmen repeatedly assured
the U.S. government that the equipment sent to Cuba was for defense only. The President alluded to
this in his television address:

more experienced than them in something. The military has a rank structure used as a means to
identify persons in a position of authority, also used to point out experience within those ranks, and
teaches junior members from the start the importance of respecting all people within that organization
with a superior rank, in order to establish good order and discipline. Ultimately, respect could be
summed up by regarding anyone of high stature, higher authority, or higher age in special or elevated
esteem. To try to pinpoint exactly when respect was first shown by early people is impossible, as the
first signs of it we have seen were in prehistoric times, where there is no definitive written records.
However, it has been shown in evidence that more than fifty thousand years ago, there were signs of
individuals held in high esteem by larger groups of people. This was usually due to either exceptional
hunting or fighting skills, organization of those groups, perceived medical skills or mystical qualities,
or various other social or gathering skills. Even though there were no standing armies at the time,
there were still skilled people looked up to in order to defend or organize the defense of camps against
other humans or even large predators outside of the tribe. Occasionally,

Essay On My War Gone By Anthony Lloyd
My War Gone By, I miss it so by Anthony Lloyd is a fantastic story and memoir of his personal
struggles and experiences during the Bosnian war. The novel changes between his personal
experiences in Bosnia, personal reflections of his time in the British army, his parents divorce, and
heroin addiction. There are many exciting moments like looking through the sights of a Muslim gun
trained on a Serb soldier, traveling with a French mercenary, and fleeing from Serbs during battle.
There are also firefights and it gets gruesome at times, which is something to keep in mind if you have
a weak stomach. Lloyd started as a war correspondent came when another British journalist was
wounded. He had arrived in Bosnia as a war junkie, just trying to ... Show more content on

Loyd conveys the experience of a war correspondent living at the front. He tells some personal stories
like how he almost booy trapped his neighbors latrine for shooting Lloyd s dog, because the dog
attacked his neighbors chicken. He only didn t because another neighbor talked him out of it. He also
talks about heroin addiction, his parents divorce, his family s military history, along with the hardships
of living in the front line. The war helped his heroin addiction, instead of getting high off the drug he
would get high off of the adrenaline from war. It was not necessarily that I had `found myself during
the war, but the conflict had certainly put a kind of buffer zone between the fault lines in my head.
Though it is interesting to see an insight of his personal life, people looking for more of an insight of
the war could get annoyed at how much personal writing there is. It s not the big adventure story some
people may be looking for. This novel really lets you see the cruelty and brutality of the war. He talks
about the war crimes committed, the death and destruction that takes place in normal combat,
firefights and getting shot at, and the toll all of this takes on him and his comrades. Lloyd really makes
you understand what war crimes and ethnic cleansing are all about. The book does not detail out why
the war was taking place nor the world politics that were going on at the time, but

American Stereotypes Research Paper
My sort? What do you mean my sort? (Alan turing) In a nation that is known for phrases such as the
melting pot or a mixed salad and unity, the United States is a country that struggles when it comes to
categorizing its people based on one s race, religion, or gender. When those categories are formed,
what stems from it is the word stereotypes. Stereotypes are labels that a specific group may be known
for viewed as. These stereotypes may come from many sources such as the hegemonic force, media,
family, or even friends. There are stereotypes that are true and may be positive about a specific group
of people conversely, there are stereotypes that have a negative connotation. Those stereotypes for the
most part may not be true but, they tend to play a significant role in society when it comes to
identifying people and their place in society. That role is labeling people as a ... Show more content on

For example, when a black male walks or attempts to sit next to a white woman or anyone for that
matter, he/she expression changes. They automatically feel threaten by the presence of a black man.
Some may ask why that is, well the answer is that there psyches have been trained to think that black
people (males to be specific) are perilous. Therefore, when an incident like that occurs, it is like an
impulse behavior to react in a frighten manner. There have also been incidents that verifies that Blacks
are more likely to be indicted for a crime they did not commit simply because of judgmental
stereotypes and perceptions. Another example is to assume that Blacks are uneducated. It has been
proven countless amount of times that blacks are educated and strive for success when given the right
resources especially financial aid. One can only further his/her education if it is affordable. All of
these examples prove that stereotypes can be detrimental and can affect a person s life

Loan Agencies And The Federal Housing Authority
In the year 2000, the stock market crashed whichshifted thepeople s money away from the stock
market and into the housing market. Many people were buying homes, which led to banks offering
more loans, including subprimed loans. Most loans, specifically, subprimed loans began going into
default once the credit markets froze in the summer 2007. Things began to deteriorate rapidly. The
offering of subprimed loans stopped completely and interest rates for other types of borrowing such as
corporate loans and consumer loans rose dramatically. Since the interest rates of loans were so high,
home owners were not able to afford to make payments, which caused them to be evicted from their
homes. In 2013, the government introduced new laws and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the new system, Fannie Mae has also allowed buyers to mortgage homes for 3 percent down, if the
buyer has good credit and does not have enough money to close the deal.
The Federal Housing Authority has put a similar plan together called the Back to Work Program which
can help the buyer return to the housing market in as little as one year if the buyer is able to meet
certain guidelines. The guidelines included in the Back to Work Program are: the buyer must pay their
bills on time, had a 20 percent reduction in income, and a minimum credit score of 620. The Back to
Work Program , has strict guidelines to make sure that the buyer is responsible, they must pay their
bills on time and cannot miss one payment, or else they will be ineligible for the program. The 20
percent reduction in income must be demonstrated to be in the result of loss of employment and the
reduction in income must be for a duration of 6 months. The Federal Housing Authority primarily
requires the boomerang buyerthat is purchasing a home to have an hour long credit counseling session
with the Department of Housing and Urban Development, after the session is completed a plan is
created for the buyer.

The Police Powers of Search, Arrest, and Interrogation Essay
The Powers of Police
Individuals have civil rights; people are entitled to be allowed to move freely and to have their person
and their property respected. However the police must have sufficient powers to investigate crimes.
Therefore Parliament has given the police special powers that can be used in certain circumstances.
These powers include the rights to stop and search suspects, to arrest and interview people when
necessary and to take fingerprints and samples (blood samples) for scientific analysis.
Without the police having these certain powers then it would be nearly impossible to investigate any
crimes. But it is also important for the police to remember that, at the same time, they ... Show more

To use this power under PACE the police officer must have reasonable grounds for suspecting that the
person is in possession of or the vehicle contains stolen goods or prohibited articles, such as items of
offensive weapons, and articles for use in connection with burglary or theft.
As these powers are very wide there are safeguards in that the police officer must give his name and
station and the reason for the search. If he or she fails to give reason for the search, then the search is
unlawful. This was shown in the case of Osman v DPP 1999, where the officers did not give their
names and station. The Queens Bench Divisional Court held that this made a search of Mr. Osman
unlawful and so he could not be guilty of assaulting the police in the execution of their duty.
If the search is in public, the police can only request that the suspect removes his or her outer coat,
jacket and gloves.
The code of practice A contains details and guidance on when these powers should be used. In
particular it stresses that police officers must not act just because of a person s characteristics.
Paragraph 1.7 of code A says:
Reasonable suspicion can never be supported on the basis of personal factors alone. For example, a
person s colour, age, hairstyle or manner

In San Francisco Unified School District, central administrative teams began a transition phase starting as early as four to five years ago when Common Core State Standards were introduced to low performing schools. As the Instructional Reform Facilitator during that time, it was exciting because new and more robust learning/content standards also required a change in our approach to instruction and assessment. This was the lever in my mind that this could help close the achievement gap. However this new initiative also brings uncertainty and apprehension for many teachers. When I began my first year as ... My theory of action was if I help teachers build instructional capacity by developing and improving their backwards planning or curriculum mapping (identifying essential standards) and enhance their data analysis approach, will they make a shift from following a script to making effective instructional decisions based on the specific needs of students. My strategic actions were to plan and design professional development opportunities that would enhance the teachers instructional practices and differentiate my support for them through professional learning communities, informal walkthroughs, and formal evaluation processes. During one of our professional development days in the week before school started, we spent an entire day reviewing the curriculum mapping process and began identifying the most essential standards and learning outcomes for students. One subtle indicator was that only two teachers demonstrated understanding about the importance of using assessment results to plan their first two weeks of lessons. One suggested that they would begin with a writing prompt to determine where students were in their narrative writing, and the other expressed the urgency to administer the reading assessment so that she could put her students in reading groups. • 6. Midsummer Night s Dream Contrast A Midsummer nights Dream is known as one of Shakespeare s most popular and most performed plays worldwide. Although there are many versions of the play, they tend to stay true to the original characters, setting, and them. However in Michael Hoffman s 1999 film version of A Midsummer Night s Dream, he breaks the traditional rules by first changing the setting. Hoffman sends the comedic action from ancient Athens to an imaginary Italian village named Monte Athena during the nineteenth century. In this portrayal of the play, Duke Theseus is nothing but a tired and seemingly unimportant bureaucrat, rather than a victorious hero as shown in the play. On the same note, Hippolyta, Theseus s bride to be, previously referred to as the Queen of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In particular this relates to Puck, who has been transformed from a mischievous fairy to a middle aged lounge lizard. Puck is the closest thing to a protagonist in the play because he is responsible for many of the complications that occur between the four lovers. Similarly, Titania loses much of her previous complexity throughout the film. The play emphasizes the strong bonds of an ancient female friendship that keep Titania from abandoning the Indian boy because she wants to care for a deceased friend s son. Hermia and Helena s lives are also marked by strong friendships although Demetrius who is in love with Hermia is also who Helena has fallen in love with. Hoffman does stay true to the ideal of female friendship shown in the play, which is one of the reasons, why relationship between Hermia, Helena, Hippoltya, and Titinia is understandable. Although, Hoffman didn t change everything when he converted the play to a film, he did change most of the major concepts. It is not certain why he changed much of the play, but one explanation that fits is because he wanted to modernize it. A Midsummer Night s Dream was written in the 1590 s and the film was produced in 1999. Hoffman most likely felt that change was necessary for modern audiences to understand. However, the outcome of Hoffman s changes is that the comical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Life In Trenches What was life in the trenches like? This is a question you might ask yourself after learning more about WW1 and its exploits. Soldiers did not have an easy life to live in the trenches and everyday just grew harder. Trenches are basically long narrow ditches that were dug by soldiers for shelter from enemy fire. Back in WW1, the trenches became a place where soldiers would live and sleep with poor living conditions. The way the trenches in WW1 were set up was with the German trenches on one side and all the Allied trenches on the other. Between the two enemy trenches would be no man s land which didn t belong to either one of the armies. Rat infestation was a huge problem in the trenches as they would feed on the soldier s food and chew up their clothing. They were two types of rats in the trenches, the black and brown rat. Both of these rats were hated however, the brown rats were particularly feared. This was because brown rats were often seen devouring human remains in a grotesque manner by eating their eyes and liver. Soldiers often said that the rats could grow to be as big as a cat. When all three are in the pasture, Storm is the protector of the herd, a small herd it may be, but it is still his herd. When other horses get close to the fence, Storm will run at the fence, kick his feet up, snort through his nose like a raging bull and stop right before hitting the fence; after all it is an electric fence. This report will discuss two specific faiths Buddhism and Hinduism, and their beliefs revolving around must there be suffering. Suffering can be defined as the state of undergoing pain, distress or hardship (Oxford Dictionaries, 2017). Buddhism is a religion that encompasses a variety of traditions and beliefs largely based on original teachings learned from the Buddha and resulting interpreted philosophies (ABC, 2014). Hinduism is one of the oldest known organized religions it s sacred writings date as far back as 1400 to 1500 B.C (Got Questions, n.d.). Buddhist and Hinduist faith earnestly supports the idea of suffering as it is engraved in their religious beliefs from the start and is spoken about in their sacred texts. Following the idea of suffering they believe in life after death. Both faiths believe that one specific goal is to reach a kind of freedom, for Hinduists, this is moksha and Buddhists are nirvana both relating to the faith of a supreme self and a life in which there is no suffering and all people have reached pure happiness. Buddhism and Hinduism see suffering as an unavoidable fact of life as it is evident that to reach this state of self there must be suffering. A new theme is suggested in this part which makes its way up to the top a couple more times in the work. It is choices. It this specific case it is clear that the individuals the speaker is referring to do not have a choice but to acknowledge the bird. In the fifth part on the other hand, once again a new idea is presented and this is not the case. Here the bird becomes an objectified beauty but this doesn t last long because as the sixth part approaches, the readers once again return to the winter time filled with icicles (Stevens 17 19). A circular pattern can now be seen with the seasons. Another hint of a continuous process occurring the process of perception. Carver illustrates the story through the eyes of Claire, the wife of the fisher. Carver depicts the differences in male and female roles of a marriage and their psychological similarities, associated with why there was a need to travel to further waters, when there is So Much Water So Close to Home. This is a woman who has truly done it all, or practically has, and I was thrilled when she took some time recently to answer a few questions about her career within the entertainment universe. I had a recurring role on Remedy, so I m not sure if that counts, but the episode of Remedy where my character had her own storyline was another favorite experience. The writing on that show was so strong it was like being in a play again. And I love the way Greg Spottiswood runs a show. Every decision a consumer makes, whether to purchase or not, will be influenced by a number of factors. Consumers today experience a wide variety of messages (stimuli) from marketers across many different mediums. It is the consumers ability to decide whether to accept or reject which messages resonate with them according to their own needs, wants and other lifestyle factors that form the basis for selective attention. Analysis Of The Absurd The Absurd It is safe to say the idea of absurdism can be linked to meaningless, and other such words that express a destination without the means to there and vice versa. In Camus famous fictional novel, he shows how one s perception of life can be effected when faced with death. The Stranger reflects Camus philosophical stance on absurdism. There is no truth, no certainty, or any unwavering, non relative laws in life. There is no sense in pursuing impossibilities. But if life is in a sense pointless, why continue living? It seems as if Meursault does not want himself to be happy. This can be assumed from reading the text. More specifically from chapter six of the Stranger on pages forty seven through fifty nine. He could have had new job which would have paid substantially more in Paris, a loving girlfriend whom wanted to marry him despite his flaws, and seemingly reliable and trustworthy friends. Meursault had so many doors open for him filled with opportunities but he throws all his chances of happiness away once he murders the Arab man on the beach. Existence can be categorized as standing out or doing something that sets you aside from others and the environment. Meursault s only desire was to be free from hope because hope meant that there was a disconnection between who he should ve been and who he actually was. However, much of it could also be used offensively, and the main concern was whether or not the Soviets would provide Cuba with missiles capable of attacking America. If he or she fails to give reason for the search, then the search is unlawful. This was shown in the case of Osman v DPP 1999, where the officers did not give their names and station. The Queens Bench Divisional Court held that this made a search of Mr. Osman unlawful and so he could not be guilty of assaulting the police in the execution of their duty.
